As awful as it is to consider, I think there could very well come a time where the man would indeed have a very difficult decision to make. The worst part of it being, if Luigi and Peach were within earshot and aware of his dilemma at that exact moment, there isn’t a single doubt in my mind that they would both plead him to help the other instead. 💔 I can imagine Peach insistently trying to make eye contact, repeating “Mario, Mario please, listen to me. He’s your brother! It’s the right thing to do”, and Luigi meanwhile losing his temper due to his own growing frustration, glaring and gesturing forcefully towards him in a rare display of assertiveness, demanding “No. Fratellone, don’t you dare! You help her, understand? Muoviti!”

In what would only be a mildly dangerous setting (but one that would probably still result in minor injuries), I like to think that Luigi would manage to snap Mario out of his trance and effectively convince him to assist the Princess first; something he would be quite pleased about despite Mario’s visible guilt afterwards. 🥺 He’d tease him lightly while his sprained ankle or sore shoulder would be carefully tended to, proudly saying things like “Well would you look at that: I do have some power of persuasion in me after all!”, but upon seeing the deep remorse in Mario’s eyes, he’d make sure to console and reassure him on his prompted choice; softly reminding him that he only did what he asked. 💞

But in a much more dire and dramatic scenario, however...? I wholeheartedly agree with the first comment. If it involved a tragic outcome for either one of them, Mario could never. He would rather die a thousand times over than let it happen, be it to his little brother or the woman he loves. ;_; As for regarding whether or not one of these situations could happen in my AU... Definitely. I’ve even written down a few potential ideas for it, just in case. But to tell you the truth, I don’t feel mentally prepared to draw that, at least right now. 😣😅

Prince Tanguish came to me in a dream (daydreaming at work while severely bored). I don’t know much of Royalty and all that, but I see Tanguish as something similar to an advisor to Tango? Within his council methinks. With Welsknight as Tango’s guardian. And Tanguish, instead of stealing, is constantly sneaking out of the castle (Tango makes fun of him for it and Welsknight hated him for it cuz he’d have to go looking for him if he stayed out too late, before Helsknight was appointed his guard at least). Or maybe he still steals, but it’s just small trinkets he sees? Stuff he can’t find in the castle. (Those homemade muffins were really to die for)

Helsknight didn’t want to become a personal guard, but wouldn’t deny the opportunity to annoy the hell out of Welsknight daily. I can also see Helsknight being acknowledged by the royal family by him helping Tango. Like Tango followed Tanguish when he was sneaking out, got hurt (fell when climbing down the castle walls?), and Tanguish ran into Helsknight first while looking for help [Of course Wels wouldn’t be there]. He’s a bit bristly at the beginning (the little dialogue at the beginning was one of the first things I thought of lmao) but he warms up eventually.

Anyways,, is making an art of an au of an au weird? It’s certainly was weird to type that sentence!

I don't get why people hate the timeline so much, its not like you can't pretty much completely ignore it when you play the games. The only time it even approaches mattering to the story is when there is an explicit sequel like botw and totk or zelda and zelda 2

Hey sorry your ask got lost in the sauce of my broken tumblr, but: yeah!

I mean, I get why in some sense. It's been a heated point of debate and I think some people understandably resent the space it has taken not only in fandom discourse, but in how people began to understand the game and its narrative aesthetic choices. There is such a thing as over-rationalizing everything to hard logic, and sometimes it's just not the fandom for that --especially when you begin to forget it's all just fan theory and start to forget what the games are supposed to be like and evoke beyond just strict facts displayed in a linear way.

What I think bugs me with TotK in particular is that it both evokes and relies on continuity and the idea of a timeline, of archeology, of history itself, while being so loose and vacant with it that it both is doing Timeline Shit while also completely failing to understand why some parts of the fandom were invested in Timeline Shit to begin with.

But that's just my two cents of course!

denethor is said to have been greatly affected by finduilas’ death, right. and i know their marriage was a political one but i like to believe that they still loved each other. not in the ‘traditional sense’ i guess but they loved each other’s spirits, their souls. the duty (as they viewed it) to protect their people & the willpower to do it, they both shared. and so i think that more precious than love, they understood each other perfectly. as no one else could, or did. i can’t stop thinking about denethor’s grief at losing her. to love someone, and to have them understand you, but to lose them so abruptly… no wonder denethor became embittered by her death. i think he became sad too. closed-off. built even more walls around him, not wanting to be seen as vulnerable by anyone. but his anger, at what (or whom), exactly? he already broke up with god when he was young. at the universe? at his fate? to have lost her so unfairly.

i came here to talk about their love & somewhere in the middle lost myself in his grief lol. never mind, bc what is grief if not love persevering????? they loved each other. i can’t. i CAN’T get over this simple truth. the love was there. it wouldn’t have been this tragic if there’s wasn’t. the love was there. and isn’t that enough (it isn’t. but it is. well im feeling awfully wizardacious rn so ill post n talk about my inspiration list for aescwynn, how about that.

see, the funny thing is, actually going into his campaign the first session, i had NO idea what aescwynns personality/character would be like. i just winged it. i tend to do that. so technically these are all like, post-inspirations. he existed and then changed after his conception. except for mando. for obvious reasons of helmetry business. but aside from that, for his design i just saw the trait in the reborn race description about phantasmal limbs replacing your missing ones and whipped up the entire design based on that. so these are all character based mostly. explanations under read more

mandalorian: again, obviously the helmetfreak part. antisocial, overly serious, overly quiet and very traditional/sticks to the books. however, hes a bit of a softie.

larry doompatrol: the biggest insp for his personality. like i think i unconsciously completely copied him, i just recently started slowly rewatching doom patrol after a couple years and my eyes boggled at the fact that every time this guy was on screen i was like "sighh hes so aescwynn core. they copied my stupid wizard and made him green". i have like 8 clips saved over only the first couple episodes just to look at and go god aescwynn is real they put him on tv. anyways. to put it simply, he inherited his pushover-y-ness and sopping wet personality.

olruggio wha: kind of gruff but a sweetie. modest and easily flustered. please take a nap

vash trigun: i only watched the first few episodes of 98 and stampede so i didnt know what he was ACTUALLY like. but i liked the Cowardly Acrobatic Pacifist that is actually really cool when he wants to be bit he had going. also he inspired his outfit somewhat.

caleb cr2: the least inspirational tbh but i noticed similarities in my recent attempted rewatch. shared guilty-dirty-and-sad-hobo-wizard-ness. you get the idea. so i shoved him in there
