It’s fascinating how little the US at large knew about Walz before this week, but at the same time… it makes sense. He wasn’t their governor. They haven’t seen the incredible work he’s done first-hand, and they haven’t had years to appreciate his authentic charm.

He’s never been a politician who sought out the limelight - everything Minnesota has done in this historic year of progressive legislation and policy has been relatively quiet. He’s not on the road jockeying for the latest sound byte on CNN or some podcast - he’s working to implement the policies people want. He’s tweeting about Mountain Dew. He’s at the state fair eating fried food and talking to his constituents. This is the governor we know. A man who cares deeply about the work he does and the people he represents, not the fame, not the clicks.

He’s genuine. Minnesotans know that. Now it’s time to sell that to the rest of the country.

Sorry not sorry, anytime I see someone say Peeta's childhood crush as obessive/creepy, I can tell they're reaching so hard or projecting. Because Peeta's crush on Katniss is literally so normal. He never acts on it until they're placed in a life or death situation and he only weaponizes it as a tool to keep HER alive. Peeta's affection for Katniss, is and has always been unconditional and innocent. It's so ick when people twist it into something it's not to perpetuate their narrative.

When he realizes that Katniss doesn't reciprocate his affections and may feel burdened by his affections, he put so much distance between him and Katniss that she admits to missing him and HE gets criticized by most of the fandom for freezing her out.

He has always been respectful to Katniss’s autonomy and respects her boundaries. Is he overly self-sacrificing and have little self worth? Yes, but in comparison to red flags in a partner, this is barely one at all. He’s not abusive at his own volition. Doesn’t guilt her for not liking him back or continuing their lover’s facade to keep their families safe. His flaw is workable and it’s never something that can harm Katniss physically or mentally (at least for the most part). And this is not to mention that Katniss shares these flaws as well.

At the same time, these examples of his self-sacrificing nature are placed within contexts where once again, Katniss and Peeta are planning to die for each other again. Where Peeta is doing the ruthless calculus of war and knowing in the grand scheme of things, his death will have less repercussions than Katniss’. He doesn’t have people relying on him to live. He’s not the one the rebellion is using as a symbol.

“Oh, but he used to watch her go home everyday-“ no. That’s what the movie said in that abysmal cave scene. Even if that were the case, it’s not like he’s stalking her- they go to the same school?? Some people act and cling to this instance as if he’s following her home and stealing her panties. All he’s ever done is watch her (and saved her life) and guess what??? Katniss was watching him too? She’s been taking sneak peeks at him too (oh, he can lift heavy bags of flour so easy, he came in second in the wrestling tournament. 🤨 Giirrrrrl) so I guess their both creepy and obsessive for each other. Match made in heaven 🤷‍♀️

#I’ve been seeing this sentiment for the past few days on Reddit and tumblr and it’s like 🤨#it’s not been a ship thing I swear #I just hate it because Peeta’s affection for Katniss is such a comfort and a crutch to her narratively #and their relationship is literally the heart of the series #cause his affection and love is a privilege that Katniss can’t afford #but she SHOULD be allowed to want and have it despite Panem saying no #and when she does loose it #it breaks something in her that even she didn’t realize she had until it was too late #I wish people wouldn’t put down/dismiss love because it’s love #when it’s done right #it’s a beautiful and healing thing #it’s worth fighting for #it’s worth living for #anyway I’m tempting to start blocking people 🙃#everlark #katniss everdeen #peeta mellark #the hunger games

Something something every time Charlie isn’t fighting to be the center of attention, he is always looking around to others to gauge their reactions and silently observing them all something something he is searching for connection, to fit in and be loved but he doesn’t know how to ask for love so instead he gains their attention by acting out in ways he knows they’ll notice and tries to pretend their attention and love are the same thing

#Charlie knows how to push people’s buttons just right to make them pay attention to him because he’s always observing them first; like he’s #not as reckless as we all think he is; he’s fairly smart and also #like Charlie seems so emotionally intelligent in the way he can gauge most peoples reactions from observing them and I think that’s why he #liked keating because keating didn’t act the way he expected and so it was amusing and enthralling to see someone he couldn’t clock #keating would do weird things and Charlie would watch in amusement and he would try to push Keatings buttons in the ways that would make #other teachers upset but they all just slid off Keatings back without him getting upset so Charlie had to try harder but keating seemed to #praise him so Charlie actually started getting what he was craving and so he tried to do something big for keating only to be confused when #keating didn’t like what he did; but then Keating still gave that unconditional support even tho Charlie didn’t get the right action and I #think that’s at the root of their relationship like you can’t have the keating and Charlie dynamic without Charlie being smart #charlie dalton #dps #dead poets society #dps fandom #dead poets fandom #like it’s so interesting to watch him in scenes not about him cause it feels like he is such a more dynamic and complex character when you #do cause we all say he doesn’t know how to be quiet but so often he is silently in the background watch and observing like the walking #scene is a good example and idk I just feel like Charlie is silent and observing more than we think he is we just don’t realize cause he is #so loud in his other moments we take those as him #and ignore him otherwise which feels like exactly what he wants because he wants to connect with people but he wants it to be on his terms #because he spent so long manipulating people’s perception of him that to be vulnerable or not in control makes him scared and he can have #this front he puts on criticized and made fun of because it’s not the real him but if the real him was ever rejected I don’t know if he #could handle it and I think he knows that; idk I just think we need to give Charlie more credit than we are giving him cause hes so complex

Love the thought of Leo just casually being well traveled to absurd degrees. Like one day they’re facing their new Big Bad of the year and like, Draxum or whoever says that the key to their fight is located somewhere in, like, Latvia or some place, but no one knows where to start.

Then Leo’s like “oh I know a place” and when asked how the heck he could know of one it smash cuts to Leo falling through the ceiling of said place due to a portal mishap.

Also love the idea of Leo, being as accidentally (and then later, purposefully) well traveled as he is, sometimes taking his family on outings to different places all over, maybe to some new Yokai spots he found along the way.

In these places, Leo 100% lets his bros get scammed by tourist traps.
