Then in Natlan, he'll talk to Traveler respectfully, only when needed, but as soon as Paimon asks why he takes so much photos and for who or whose *insert item* he's wearing (I feel like Capitano's lover will give him something like a good luck charm) and he'll start talking about you and oh boy, while Traveler and Paimon want to meet you (mostly bc they're curious who's that person who manged to form a relationship with #1 of Harbingers), they also regret asking anything and think how they can tactically leave. And it happens every time someone asks Capitano anything related to his lover

It's not unknown that Capitano is a quiet man, even when he speaks he's straight to the point, not wasting time on anything unnecessary. He much prefers for his actions (or blade) to do the talking. But there are a few souls who have witnessed the Captain's mouth run on for longer, much to their surprise (said people still haven't gotten over it, except Varka. That guy knew exactly what he was doing when he met the Harbinger, he wasn't scared at all. Though he didn't mention the abrupt talkativeness because he much enjoyed seeing this side of Capitano. Even gave him some romantic advice!)

It was the same with the Traveler, he was a bit interested in them from listening to the tales of his soldiers, but his calm demeanor remained the same. He was really just focused on his mission for the Fatui - the Gnosis and whatnot, and secondly, his mission for you - getting the perfect gifts as an apology for leaving you for so long. Needless to say, he's gotten the hang of it after having to go on so many expeditions. (And his agents secretly drop hints during conversations with him, because they're the #1 Reatano shippers.)

Of course, Paimon is nosy as usual and can't help but ask about the Capitano's peculiar habits. Or wonder why someone as strong as him needs something as tiny as a good luck charm. (Can't blame her much though, it's not every day you see the Harbinger doing such... normal things.) Capitano then mentions his marriage to you very simply - he's not ever embarrassed or reluctant to say he's with you, plus he trusts the Traveler to a certain degree that they'd never hurt you. Traveler and Paimon nearly explode on the spot.

Others have talked, very rightly, about Bells Hells having an extremely Us vs. Them style of morality and one thing I find interesting about all that is many of their most virulent (read: actively nasty towards other fans) defenders are also taking this stance. The party line has become that the segments of the fandom that are disappointed with how this campaign shook out have never been happy with anything Bells Hells did from the beginning and have been actively hating on people who do like it for just as long. Us, the beleaguered Campaign 3 lovers versus Them, the mean c3 haters (who are often characterized as being hung up on the Mighty Nein and simply mad Bells Hells aren't the Nein again).

What's been quite funny for me personally is that I have seen vague posts clearly targeted at myself giving me the above detailed characterization of the c3 hater when I: have never seen Campaign 2 (though I did watch Campaign 1 back in 2019), started watching live with the first EXU, got into the fandom (as a lurker) at the start of Campaign 3, didn't make any of my own posts about it until late 2022 and didn't start really posting in earnest until mid 2023. Practically none of the characteristics applied to the archetypal c3 hater certain fans have created actually apply to me, other than of course thinking Campaign 3 actually isn't very good. So it's been interesting to watch people draw lines in the sand and create an Us vs. Them narrative that I know isn't true based on existing as myself.

I don't understand any adult who genuinely hates kids. They can be stressful and a lot sometimes but they are so sweet and trying their best. Yes, even teenagers. I've trained a lot of teenagers at my job and every single one of them is so kind and helpful if you just give them respect, even the 'problem' ones who get into fights at school. They just lack experience and knowledge and need someone patient to teach them but they aren't trying to be 'bad' or anything. I don't even like kids all that much but not being able to get along with them and respect them as people is a skill issue.

I mean this with all due respect, but, as a black DA and BG3 fan, seeing all the “Larian could do the funniest thing right now.” is so weird to me because neither studio gives a fuck about their black characters or their black fans. Sure, they’d probably do a ton with Solas or some other white elf, but Bioware already only sees Davrin through Assan; the last thing I’d want to see is Larian give him the Wyll treatment. Yeah, it’s sad what’s happening to Bioware, but Larian isn’t better to anyone but white characters and fans.

I don't think the Technocyte Coda "boys" are the original On-Lyne boys. I think the originals are long dead and these things are cloned from leftover DNA like hairbrushes and things like that (like one of Amir's datamined emails mentions in the mall). We know the Orokin like trying to do longevity experiments and cloning experiments later on in the timeline and if Gregory V is Alad V's ancestor, the motivations would certainly line up.

I'm probably going to post about this on the MW subreddit, but I still find it pretty hilarious that most fans assume the "struggles" Jimbalaya was dealing with back on Earth were related to criminal acts (usually in order to demonize Curly) meanwhile most of the pieces of clues I've gathered from the HFIM dlc and the QnAs we got about the characters' lives have lead me to believe Jimbalaya's struggles were about poverty.

In the HFIM dlc we're pretty clearly playing a fish version of Jimbalaya, and the whole game is about how a capitalistic system ruins people (fish) and those that climb up help perpetuate the system and those that go down just get eaten. So it's pretty interesting to me that Jimbalaya fish even after consuming other fish and items... keeps going down.

But it was the third QnA that sealed it for me. Curly's hobbies are around a lot of friends and family that he could join interesting things. And of course play snow sports in Winter. Winter snow sports... which let's be honest is a pretty expensive hobby to have. Meanwhile, Jimbalaya can't afford any hobbies other than joining one with Curly.

I think this kinda just adds more fuel for Jimbalaya to both envy yet aspire to be like Curly.

I dunno, it's just fascinating to me watching so many fans claim the "struggles" were so obviously to do with crime when most of the current evidence I noticed seems to point towards money related issues.

I think both are valid and valuable interpretations that’s the MW fandom makes but I think the major problem with it is the severity in which they make Jimmy out to be every factor wrong with men in society.

Like I think it’s interesting to use the idea he has some record, misdemeanors/petty stuff, that has complied to make his life more difficult. It’s all his own doing for his entitlement and general behavior but it can also be used to comment on Capitalism banking on desperation and envy. A lot of his actions are desperate because he knows his crimes on the Tulpar will make it virtually to climb any ladder, anywhere anymore due to their weight. Like in the end the problem is undeniably how the proverbial rat race creates environments that fosters Jimmy’s and creates ineffective systems like Curly represents.

Curly on the other hand benefits from the corporate part of it with his financial freedom, stability and prestige but he too is socially stagnant, deeply unhappy in the identities placed on to him and unrecognizable as anything other than a cog in the machine. I think this goes in tandem with the other members too as the identities placed onto them in the scenario all represent stages in capitalism and class discrepancies: Anya represents largely marginalized identities (particularly women in blue collar fields/harassment) and how they ultimately have to fend for themselves. Daisuke a sort of perception of both a class between Curly and the rest, protected no matter the effects of the establishment due to his home life but at the same time he is the metaphorical future gen, things stripped from him as the older generations squabble amongst themselves in private conversations leaving him unequipped. Then there’s Swansea being sort of those who have lived through it, knowing how it ends but ultimately still lack the skills, resources and want to change it, letting it cycle.

The entire thing with Jimmy circles back to the fandom ultimately wanting easy solutions to the events in the games, a face to blame and a weird black and white thinking to issues that are dangerous to view that way.

absolute big brain idea... it's perfect because i feel like both of them would be apprehensive about putting out the idea of Actual Marriage, for emotional reasons on zhao's end and logistic ones on lucifer's (like, zhao has romantic relationship baggage, but lucifer would be 100% down if it weren't for the complications of inter-realm marriage)

i like to think they try incorporating some chinese wedding customs into it for zhao... like the tea ceremony where the newlyweds kneel and present tea to the parents, then to each other (though they have to make mammon and ik sub in because zhao's parents have probably disowned him and god isn't exactly available)

wait also chuangmen!!! basically the groom (and sometimes his groomsmen) has to pass several 'tests' to prove he is worthy of the bride, and these days they're basically games set up by the bridal party. the other brothers form lucifer's party and then ik + the others are zhao's and they take it in turns acting as each party... ideal shenanigans scenario

(the brothers come up with fairly tame stuff for zhao to do, whereas ik gets given planning privileges (because it's her dad lucifer's proving himself worthy of) and immediately starts setting up saw traps)

Final confrontation between shuggy, Buggy needs to yell at him, bare his soul in a raw and honest way, lay down all the ways Shanks fucked up. Let the universe give the clown man closure and then kill him in front of Shanks, who is powerless to stop it. This Shanks who would probably be destroyed to know how much he fucked up his first, his most important relationship, by failing him, by not trusting Buggy enough and not being upfront with him. Shanks needs to live the rest of his days in misery, mired in the knowledge that he managed to completely fuck up his childhood best friend so profoundly it affected his entire adult life. And after years of this miscommunication, of Buggy hating him and resenting him, of Shanks not knowing what went wrong, the moment they were finally getting somewhere, his friend got taken away from him. Shanks learns to live with his mistakes. This time there is no Whitebeard in front of whom he can pretend to be unaffected by Buggy leaving him, everyone in the world had witnessed what he really was. Just like Buggy said, he was a coward.
