Did you know there are mink in California?

I've only seen one in the wild ONE TIME and i couldn't figure out what i was looking at

it was like 10 years ago and i was like whoa that was the smallest most dangerous nutria i've ever seen!

that's a joke about people thinking weasels are rodents -- nutria are invasive rodents that are just like if a beaver gave up its engineering degree and more than half its body weight, check it out

here's a nutria

the biggest nutria will weigh about 20lbs (9kg) and

here's a beaver

(which max out around 65lbs, or 30kg)

they are both water-adapted rodents (huge, webbed back feet, tho the nutria's tail isn't as specialized) that live in and at the edge of water and eat woody plants (beavers eat trees, nutria eat stuff like cattails)

Nutria don't build dams, but a few years ago, some native beavers in the Portland area and some invasive nutria were observed building a dam together! which is interesting, especially as beaver do sometimes engage in cooperative co-habitation with muskrats.

and sometimes a mated pair of muskrats will spend the winter in a beaver lodge with a mated pair of beavers. The beavers store food for the winter under the cold water (keeps it good like a fridge) and go out and bring back food every day or two. The muskrats eat the more tender bits from the branches the beavers bring in and sleep in the safe warm den, but the muskrats sort of pay rent by going out every couple days and collecting reed stems etc and changing out the bedding that lines and insulates the inside of the beaver's lodge.

ANYWAY. No, for real tho, rodents aside, when i saw the mink, what i actually wondered for a second was "are there tiny river otters in california?"

River otters come in all kinds of sizes, from as small as a little kitty to as big as a person, so. It was a reasonable guess. And it turns out there is actually a river otter species that lives in California, but they are bigger, they get up to 30 lbs (13kg)

That's not what i saw tho. Nope, what i saw was an American Mink.

American Mink are semi-aquatic, they are sort of in-between a ferret and a river otter. They weigh about 2lbs (1kg) and look like this

and the one i saw was swimming

and i mean like this on the surface but also diving and rolling and sort of scurrying around through the water, proper otter behavior. Like, i couldn't see as deep as this, but look

They totally do otter shit. So you can't blame me for wondering if i had seen an otter.

But it was a mink! I didn't even know there was a native mink here, and it made me learn we also have ermine too! This is an ermine

They are colored brown with a white belly like a common weasel for half the year, and i didn't know there were little river otters OR ermine in California until i was looking up stuff because of that mink i saw :)

Seeing it swim around in the wild was at least as exciting as that time i saw a fisher!

Sort of getting back to the nutria vs. beavers thing, fishers are like a giant marten, basically. A marten is a tree weasel that can weigh a max of maybe 3lbs (1.3kg) . A fisher (sometimes called a fisher cat) is, like, 96% identical to a marten but way bigger, maxing out around 16lbs (7.25kg).

despite their name, fishers aren't aquatic and don't eat many fish. They, like martens, are semi-arboreal (spend a lot of time in trees) and have a diet nearly identical to other martens (mice, rabbits, eggs, berries, basically anything else they can get their teeth on, and a lotta squirrels)

Honestly Thunderfang shouldn't have been introduced, and his motivation should have been FF's motivation instead. These guys were hyped up for all of season 2, and they immediately turned into dumb McGuffin hunting minions for Thunderfang. We should have seen the FF try to bring down and kill the Source Dragons, and becoming gods themselves. Sort of like Ras, they'd be hunting for dragon icons, so both Ras's team and Lloyd's team would be targets for their icons. Though they'd first be searching for other icons, since they don't know the ninja have one.

(This sounds similar to Ras's McGuffins but that A. would force Ras to go against the FF because they want the same McGuffins, or B. I had the idea of twisting Ras's plan a bit. Instead of just undoing the merge, he wants to turn back time and stop the merge from ever happening to do it. So completely different thing).

And they would destroy things! Imagine the five of them absolutely destroying the Cloud Kingdom or the First Realm and the ninja being able to do nothing about it. Imagine them absolutely destroying the ninja on their first encounter, forcing the ninja to learn new skills and find a way to re-imprison them.

And dangit, they'd use their elemental powers! It seems the writers didn't even know what to do with the powers they gave the FF. But I have ideas!!

Nokt: Master of Brute Force? Let him slam everybody around. Let it get brutal!

Rox: Master of Fear? She causes her enemies to see what they fear most, or look like what they fear most. Instant internal conflict for all our characters!

Drix: You're awesome, don't change anything.

Kur: Decay is a really cool power in concept, but it gets messy, considering Kur can permanently disfigure anyone she points her hand at. If she used her powers on the ninja, they'd straight up die, so the power is never used against the ninja. So either the decay is temporary, or she's instead the Master of Bone, so she could summon bones from the ground and even control the bones of living people. Terrifying!

Zarkt: He's apparently the Master of Misfortune, which was... as far as I know never explained in the show. I think, as a better compliment to his design, he should be the Master of Control. He fights with these spectral chains and can mind control anyone he's captured, though the control can be broken if someone breaks the chains on the mind-controlled individual. Introduces a convenient storytelling trope!

Just let them be cool for a while. Please. There's so many cool ways the ninja could defeat them too. Maybe Ras and Arin free Thunderfang in the end, and he instantly kills the five but becomes the new big bad. Maybe the ninja trick them and imprison them once more. Maybe the ninja find an artifact like the forbidden spinjitzu scrolls and use it to defeat FF, but at what cost? Or maybe they combine all their rising dragon forms into one very marketable giant dragon form. Who knows! (anything is better than throwing a tiny potion at a giant dragon and having him instantly die)

Okay well I want to write two fics as I want to explore the potential of both designations (omega Aaron/alpha Kevin, and alpha Aaron/omega Kevin) I think both potentials are SO INTERESTING for exploring COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DYNAMICS. And I hate to choose. So I would need to do both haha

I need the twins being absolutely appalled at not only being tiny but also being omegas. Constantly fiercely fighting any preconceptions people may have of them. Andrew extra vicious for the weakness people may perceive in him, and Aaron just so embarrassed by his body and his cycles and he doesn’t have time !! He has studying to do this is so stupid !! And both of them seething about the forced vulnerability their hormones force on them (also love the idea of being able to pick up on emotions through scent changes and the fact these emotionally repressed assholes who hate anyone knowing how they feel would DESPISE THAT!!!) but also everyone assuming they’re omegas because of their appearance and they’re actually alphas !! Imagine !! Teeny little alpha powerhouses like both ?? Both options are so good !!! I need both

As omegas they’d be constantly fighting their nature. They do NOT want to be perceived as that. Andrew worse after his abuse and Aaron because he hates being seen as weak. Both on suppressants as soon as they had access to them (Aaron went through shitty dodgy ones in his teens, Andrew had a harder time getting access to them but at least they put him on suppressants in juvie. One perk). Both passing as betas but people think Andrew might actually be an alpha in disguise (I actually think he’s transalpha when he presents omega tbh). Aaron’s bad at not reacting to pheromones though so he’s constantly fighting now to expose himself lmao

Then Kevin as an alpha who is meant to be STRONG but he's so fucking scared and skittish and anxious. Aaron who can't ignore the constant stress scent billowing off him like clouds of smoke, and he’s always got an instinct to CARE he can never shut down. So when there’s a stressed omega living in his dorm… and like yeah Andrew is incredibly territorial over him, and he’s already doing a lot of caretaking, but Aaron doing little things in the background. Getting mad whenever he realises because like UGH why is he wasting his time looking after some alpha (Andrew’s pet alpha on top of that). Kevin actually warming up to Aaron earlier on because Andrew is the solid grounding force he NEEDS to survive after the nest, but Aaron is an unexpected gentleness, someone who doesn’t expect him to just play out the perfect alpha role he’s been taught to act … Aaron who actually seems to relax more around Kevin when he’s feeling a bit pathetic, when he lets Aaron be in control, when he’s not snapping or trying to boss him around.

And while I think Neil of any designation could be interesting, beta Neil who has even less response to pheromones than most betas. Andrew who trusts him entirely because he's not a slave to his instincts. Neil who has no concept of the oversexualsiation of omegas because it’s just not a part of society he’s paid much attention to, and so he just sees Andrew.

Vs the flip side. Unexpected alpha twins often mistaken as omegas due to their size. They’re giving small dog tbh. Super aggressive. Andrew who revels in the power he gained from presenting after being so vulnerable as a child, versus Aaron so desperate not to be aggressive, not to be like his mother, hating every slip.

Secret omega Kevin who the Ravens presented as a beta to avoid the prejudice and assumptions omegas get saddled with. Who they kept on a fucked up cocktail of suppressants and other drugs and whose hormones are a wreck when he comes to PSU. Having to adjust to normal suppressants. His initial resistance to Andrew as his protector as an alpha - so untrusting of them - but Andrew does not flaunt his power like Riko or Thea did, he is a steady presence. He protects Kevin as a choice, not a response to his instinctual drive. Jean as a beta and one of the only people who ever humanised Kevin before. He’s been taught not to act like an omega so he's rough and haughty and vicious as ever, but all his warring instincts on top of his injury leave him a mess when he's away from the court or cameras.

Aaron who has never been one to fuss over omegas but can't ignore Kevin's distress, finding himself constantly bringing him blankets or food and trying to put out his own soothing pheromones (not that he has much of those to go around lmaooo when are you ever soothed, Aaron). And Abby says Kevin has to go through at least a few heats in his first year to regulate after all the shit the Ravens had him on. It’s only coming up to his first planned one (his first ever one at PSU was when they were detoxing him off the Raven drugs, so he just went through it alone), that Aaron realises he’s subconsciously been thinking of Kevin as HIS omega and omg gotta shut that down. Even if he hates the idea of anyone else being with him through that. It’s. No.

Andrew of course volunteers, and everyone assumes that’s who will be with Kevin, but he quietly turns the offer down.

Unsure if that’s even allowed. If he gets to have a choice, to have a say in this - he never has before, right? Never had autonomy in anything to do with his body. It’s Abby who catches him glancing at Aaron and asks if he’d like to ask Aaron.

Kevin is like: no!!?!!!! Because obviously Aaron would say no !!!

And Aaron is like: no!!! Because why would Abby even suggest that clearly Kevin would NOT want him like Andrew is clearly the only choice so Kevin must just want to do it alone again

And Andrew is seething because he knows it can all be a bit precarious when hormones are flying about and he’s supposed to protecting both of these dumbasses

Kevin dejectedly muttering about how he wouldn’t put Aaron in an awkward position by asking, and Aaron being like 🤨 how do you know what position I’d be in unless you ask?

Andrew’s hating his life tbh but if there’s anyone he trusts Kevin with, it’s Aaron. Not sure how much he trusts Kevin with his brother though.

Aaron is Very Official™️ about the whole thing and makes them go through consent forms beforehand because he will not be caught slipping no sir. Even if it’s a very painful and mortifying ordeal for them both. Better to know beforehand

I think omega Aaron really loves his nest and being scented and having his alpha plastered over him basically through his whole heat but he’s just !! Constantly trying to fight it !! Because how embarassing to be so vulnerable (but he keeps fucking PURRING and he’s going to TEAR HIS OWN VOCAL CHORDS OUT because it’s MORTIFYING) (Kevin’s obsessed with the sound he’s doing everything in his power to make Aaron purr and he’s very much “tell me what you want tell me what to do anything just say the word” kind of alpha. Like is he tragically horny? Yes. Is he going to die of blue balls? Maybe. But if Aaron wants a non sexual heat their first time together then that is what he will get 😤 Kevin’s blue ball related death aside)

Whereas omega Kevin is very clingy and needy but doesn’t really know how to communicate what he wants, so Aaron takes a lot more of the lead but he’s very focused in on Kevin’s comfort and desires. I think he’s a lot better at reading body language and shifts in scent than Kevin because the Nest did not develop those skills (and also, the autism)

And I’m torn between beta Nicky as the calm neutral safe middle ground for the twins or omega Nicky who cannot wait to for his beautiful strong alpha to fill him with pups 🕺🏻

Although I guess it would match his backstory more if he were in a alpha x alpha or omega x omega relationship

I'm by no means an expert in game design, but I just wanted to give my two cents. Tying more objective/direct upgrades to Hat Kid's moveset behind badges probably wouldn't be the best idea since it'd basically be a repeat of the hookshot situation in the 1st game, where said badges are effectively a "wasted" slot since you're not gonna wanna be constantly swapping them in and out with the "less useful/fun" badges.

I think the AHiT devs had the right idea with making the hats the more direct upgrades to HK's kit since you can change them on the fly and once you have them you have them. IMO where they fell flat is that most of them were pretty one-note or too situational/context sensitive.

It's a shame that one floating hat was scrapped from the game because that's what AHiT could've used more of: hats that expand HK's (still fun but admittedly pretty minimal) moveset beyond just "use this hat to interact with this very specific object".

Also, with regards to temporary "gimmick" hats for specified areas, I feel like that sort of design is better suited for more linear games, whereas AHiT (and presumably a theoretical AHiT 2) is for the most part an open and non-linear game, so having your abilities available whenever as oppose to restricted to certain points gives players a lot more freedom in finding their own approach to navigate the environment or overcoming obstacles. It does come at the cost of a tighter and more controlled experience? Yes. Is that more fun? Subjective but for this subgenre I kinda think so (tbh AHiT was the game that made me realize that platformers are lot more fun if they give you the means to break things just a tiny bit 😉).

All that said I'm against the idea either; it could maybe be hybrid of both systems where you can "supercharge" your base hats in specific locations to access certain areas in a level or complete more linear obstacle courses (like time rifts).

I’ve been trying to think about the sequel as an actual game, so I’ve been brainstorming different new things that could be added. I wanted to make new badges and mechanics for a more streamlined experience. While there will be cosmetic badges for fun, I wanted to include more badges that actually add to Hat’s move set. Things like an extra jump or actual hover for example. In terms of something like the hook shot, the badge will be removed and integrated as a part of Hat Kid’s base move set.

I think I want Hats to act more like level gimmicks in Astrobot where they show up for a level and are done with at the end. I think it would give way for more thought out level design and allow hats to have more uses outside of specific sections of a level.

ㅤ"Well, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you had a better idea for running around with monsters you can't see and before you mentioned that magic thing. I would like to remind you that you left me alone in Impa's house to find my own way there." Link stated, waving his hand frustrate in Sky's direction before crossing his arms over his chest. "There is very little you can actually do when the entire place is apparently designed to pick you apart and break you down piece by tiny little fracturing piece. Think an evil soul sucking mask is probably the least of my problems after the very cryptic and weird prophecy the Mask Salesman gave me."

ㅤ"I—" Sheik's face contorted in bewilderment and frustration, quickly moving between the two heroes in rapid succession. He seemed unsure on if he should state at Sky or try and pick apart whatever in Hylia's name Link had just said. Apparently he settled for Link for the moment as he tooks a few steps toward the Mask of Truth. He paused before it, stared at the ungodly smile on it's face and then leaned down to pick it up. He rolled the mask between his fingers a few minutes, seemed to almost weigh it in his hands and then lifted his head to meet Sky's gaze. One minute, he would deal with him momentarily, and then turned his head toward the Hero of Time.

ㅤ"Who and what are you talking about?"

ㅤThis? The Shadow Temple and the middle of this room specifically? Was not the place to have this conversation. Not that anywhere in the Shadow Temple was a place to have it but standing here? Really not ideal. It got a little bit better when in Link's silence Sky took the chance to remove the problem running above both the heroes' heads. The current Sage didn't need to close his eyes, barely even flinched as the magic coursed across the ceiling. If one really looked, they'd notice he wasn't even breathing. When the wallmasters were dealt with though and Sky dropped his hand back down, Sheik tried something else to get Link to speak.

ㅤA really very simple thing to ask in his opinion, a very noisy and annoying thing missing from the little group of reckless heroes that invaded his temple. "Link, where is Navi?"

ㅤHe actually earns a shrug. The Hero of Time shrugged at him in response and Sheik realizes very quickly that was a much more complicated answer than he thought it would be. Since apparently he didn't want to talk about it either, Sheik shook his head and changed tactics yet again. "This is something my tribe made, and is actually older than the Lens of Truth. Where the Lens of Truth only allows you to see what my people can, this was designed specifically to see within the hearts and minds of people. It was used by the Royal Family of Hyrule to pick out people that intended on deceiving them or couldn't be trusted. I don't actually know how they made it, most records of it are long gone."

ㅤ"The Happy Masks salesman warned me about that when he saw it. Though he said it could be useful to see into the hearts and minds of others, I never tried to." Link shook his head and didn't elaborate on why, but the real reason was simply that he felt to busy to. Taking a moment to stop and just listen inside peoples heads when he could barely handle what was going on in his own sounded more like a burden than anything else. It was weird, in a way, how he didn't even consider the fact it was actually impersonal and perhaps even creepy to do that. It always came down to the fact he felt like there was a giant click ticking over his head. And in Termina, that was actually true.

ㅤ"I don't—" his hand tightened around the mask briefly, brows furrowing as he frowned beneath the msak. "I don't like that you keep mentioning him and I don't remember this person you're talking about. And I knew everyone in Castle Town. A bit to well, actually."

ㅤLink doesn't seem surprised but he doesn't seem interested in explaining either, something else that unsettled Sheik. At least since he didn't seem overly interested in taking the mask back, the Sheikah was confident he would find a different way to navigate the Shadow Temple. Or just leave.

ㅤFinally turning to deal with the other problem in the room, the Sage took a few steps closer toward Sky and held out the Mask of Truth to him. Sheik can't personally do anything with it at the moment and unlike the Sheikah he had bottomless pockets to stick whatever he wanted in and wouldn't use the mask. Unlike the other Hero who he didn't trust mentally at the moment.

ㅤ"You went home." He stated, first and foremost because it was improbable for the Hero of the Skies to be here. That had been the plan from the very beginning too, to find a way for Sky to get back to his time where his people were waiting for him. Where things made sense and it he'd have his Hyrule to start building. Perhaps not the name of the land yet, but they both knew that was what it was meant to become. Just as his Zelda was meant to start the line that would eventually become the Royal Family. His people had needed him and Sheik had settled himself with that understanding multiple times throughout the long time that they were together. That he couldn't keep things the way they were, and he shouldn't want to.

ㅤSo Sky wasn't meant to be here now, again in the world where they kept constantly stitching the timeline together and hoping that things don't unravel around them. In the Shadow Temple again, a place he had vehemently hated. Perhaps even more than Sheik does, and he was the one stuck in here. Constantly battle against the temple attempting to break him down. No matter when, no matter how, the Shadow Temple was never a place that was kind to the people trapped inside it.

ㅤ"You're not supposed to be in here either, Sky. Just as I told Link, this place is not a playground and you at least never plagued me as the type with a death wish." Though, and perhaps this was a bit cruel of him, he was more confident in Sky's ability to navigate it than he was Link's.

ㅤHe wasn't going to say that out loud though.

ㅤGlancing briefly over his shoulder he settled his gaze on Link, who had turned his back to the both of them and was fiddling with his hookshot. That thing look like it had seen better days and the Hero was attempting to lubricate it with a bottle of oil. Turning back around he set his gaze on Sky once more a took a step closer toward him. "Don't get the wrong idea, I did miss you." He will always miss the other. Like a part of his own soul was constantly missing. "But you have your own people who need you, and I have to fulfill my role and our oath to Hylia here."

ㅤThat was a Sheikah's responsibility.

ㅤ"So you have to go and I need you to make sure he doesn't get himself killed in the process." Though getting out of the Shadow Temple was much more simple than making ones way through it. All either of them needed to do was play the Nocturne of Shadows. As much as it would pain him yet again to have Sky leave—he had eternity to settle that pain in here. Until another Sage takes his place or the Shadow Temple finally collapses in on itself and makes it his tomb.

Sometimes Sky wonders just what goes through the Hero of Time's mind, or to know what the other was thinking that made him so reckless with himself. Did he have someone to help him through things? Even if they didn't remember the horrors of the time before, it would've been something to help him. Did he not have Navi with him anymore? The blond had noticed the distinct lack of fairy with Link when they were in Sheik's home, from the little bit he had observed from the fairy she was not one to stay hidden.

So where was she? Link had clearly cared a great deal for her.

Any further thoughts and questions on that had to be shelved as Sky led them in backtracking through the Shadow Temple. Getting the compass where the map had originally been was weird, still he passed both map and compass over to Link. He doesn't remember the eye fixtures in the walls the first time around in the next section where the hover boots were, so that was something else that was new to him.

Dealing with Dead Hands again was a pain but at least they handled it fairly quickly. If he had been by himself, then he certainly would've torched everything but he had to play it safe with Link there. Sky had to be a little quick in burning the ReDeads' bodies and giving them a prayer for their souls to find rest. Better than just leaving the bodies there, they did not deserve to be left there like that. On the trek back to the way forward, Sky couldn't help but be sad that Sheik had not made an appearance. Perhaps he had been in the Sacred Realm when he'd tried before?

Unblocking the way with a quick bomb placement, Sky unlocked the door. The narrow hallway was somehow more dangerous the second time around than the first. Where before he had shot down multiple Skulltulas, this time there was a Beamos on that first bend and he could hear the clanging of blades hitting the walls. Link being ahead of him didn't really ease him given that the other Hero seemed determined to prove something and Sky suspected it would lead to the other getting hurt which he would like to avoid. He did shoot the Skulltula as it began to descend with a well timed arrow and caught up to Link he seemed to pause at the guillotine.

While Link seemed to take a moment to watch the way the blades cranked up before falling down, Sky took the opportunity to take out the second Beamos that was between both guillotines.

          "There weren't any Beamos or those little floor blades when I did this. It was mainly Skulltulas and then the guillotines," Sky commented, unsure if Link had even heard him since he had started moving forward again. Hearing the other's comment to have him snorting as he walked to catch up. "I'm well aware of those disembodied hands scurrying above... I can take care of those in a moment."

Seeing Link reaching for the Mask of Truth again to put it on, the Chosen Hero couldn't help the disapproving frown that tugged on his lips. That thing was dangerous, he swears that at the earliest opportunity he was going to get rid of it.

          "The way to the left was unlocked the last time, though I remember just about everything in that room being invisi– Link!" The Chosen Hero shouted when the other decided to have a race of all things. Golden Goddesses, this boy was so reckless!

Bringing his Goddess Shield out, he held it up over his head to ward off any Wallmasters that may get any ideas and started to go after him. The guillotines forcing him to wait did not help, especially when he saw that that fire skull leaped out of the chasm just like it had done before but Link hadn't known. Watching the way the other teen tried to dodge it made Sky want to scream and it was like time slowed as he saw Link tumble over the edge. The way his heart lurched into his throat was awful and he was thinking that he wouldn't be able to make it. Especially as he was standing there too long and hadn't realized that damned wallmaster was there until it grabbed his leg.

Sky cursed under his breath as he brought his sword out and quickly stabbed the creature, running lightning through the blade did the trick to make it completely dissipate. The sound of harp strings turned his attention back towards Link quickly and he sighed in relief when he saw Sheik pulling the reckless boy back up. He approaches them at a more sedated pace but he can definitely hear everything the two are saying to each other. Sky had definitely smiled when it seemed that Sheik had spotted that awful mask.

There's some vindication when Sheik even tells Link that that mask was bad news. Driven to insanity or suck the life from your soul? It made sense why the damn parasite on Link's face was looking a little bigger.

          "It's rather unfortunate for you that I heard you and I can say that I told you so," Sky said finally making his presence known to the two before picking up that damn mask and shoving it into one of his pouches. He did warn Link to close his eyes and not a moment later lightning shot out of his hand up towards the ceiling. Just like before, he made the lightning spread to get all of them. He could hear their screeches and it was so odd that things without mouths could make such a sound. The lightning cut off and he then finally looked at Sheik with a sweet smile, though the Sheikah may be cantankerous with him too.

          "Hello, Sheik," The Skyloftian greeted the other softly and he rocked on the balls of his feet a little, unsure if he could hug him. His magic swirled around their bond wanting to reach for Sheik as well. Blue eyes looked over the Sheikah he'd fallen in love with, taking in every detail of him and anything that may be different though his eyes caught the glint of one of his ears and he grinned. "You still have the earrings I made for you."

i finished veilguard, my life has no meaning, also what yhe FUCK was that post credit scene, im afraid. and i cant wait for the next one tbh. i hope my rook gets to be a lil well remembered hero who stays ready as the veilguard but has decided to protect thedas from demons and twisted spirits using their expertise as a mourn watcher and my likely connection to the fade, ya boy would spend time learning ancient elvhen funeral practices from bellara and how they effect the fade too.

i just want my boy to have some peace with his husband, go on ...safer adventures...cause his heart nearly gave out a few times and itll take a while to put it back together again. hes always going to be looking for harding and honouring her too, i want to think she was the one he went to when he had panic attacks. i think hed be searching spirits and the fade, and hed go visit hardings mom (would probably cry more than she does too especially if she looks like lace). hed have tea with mahanon and visit the griffins, and the caretaker a lot, but when its all over and everything is mosty recovered and he visits vorgoth and myrna he gets a lecture from myrna and a begrudgingly relieved hug, and vorgoth doesnt really say much but takes him aside and pats his head like when he was child and would hide from his lessons because they made him feel dumb.
