I've been thinking a lot about dancing as a form of possession and keeping, when they dance, to us, it's a physical melody of two, an abstract form of intimacy, to them it's also a way to get a message across.

Dancing in the way that HyunA's is Luka's and only Luka's to have, dancing in the way that Till is Ivan's to want and keep close, dancing in the way that Sua and her memory is Mizi's to keep and hold for her eternity

pink pony club is one of those songs that absolutely has another layer of meaning if you're queer. the way she sings "god, what have you done?" is insane. the tiktok of the gay men's chorus singing that song makes me tear up. chappell roan the lesbian that you are.

it's really hard to predict what kind of reactions he'd have because we never see things from his perspective.. so this could end up being off but, it was still fun thinking about it.

I felt it was really interesting how Luka believed Hyuna would have been safe if she were to be with him (p97 of artbook). Does he have any base for having made such a claim? Would he have really been able to preserve Hyuna's life? It does explain why Ruler Of My Heart's lyrics were like that then, it was definitely written with his feelings towards her. From his perspective, If she chose him, he really could have given her "everything(life)". But he got rejected(lol)

Oh and I've been writing a few posts about how he's been "made for the stage" for that purpose... turns out that's actually really what's canon, I was getting some hunches from the artworks; it was implied too, but..; I feel that'd be something pretty important in terms of understanding his character.

I also love that Helly R's immediate position was "what are we going to do about that". I read her character's reaction to Mark's outie being married to Gemma/Ms. Casey as her being upset that Mark didn't tell her. He had the perfect opportunity to earlier, and he didn't. It wasn't that she was affronted there was someone else in... his body's life. It didn't even sound jealous. She was immediately ready to throw down, get solving, figure out how to help. Helena was weird about it. Helly was not.

it is important that Parkour Civilization 2 is about yaoi and trust instead of classism and systematic oppression because Parkour Civilization 1 can not only be an example of the pitfalls of a rigged meritocracy but also an example of a society that has forgone the need for community, and connection and the sequel thus allows for the rediscovery and reintroduction of community and connection that will lead to a restored-to-sustainability meritocracy

I wonder how this dissonance between what Luka thinks is right versus how it is truly perceived (and affecting Hyuna) will affect the next episode and how his fate will turn out.

I can't get past the idea that Luka will ultimately choose himself over HyunA if put in a situation where he will have to choose between competing to beat HyunA or being separated from her again, and then I wonder what love actually means to him, studying an interpretation of love doesn't mean you understand it from the heart. Luka doesn't fundamentally understand love despite trying, truly trying to understand, he still tries to make the initiative to connect (and fumbles terribly) love is love no matter what, and what luka feels for hyuna is a form of it, but how will he take this emotion and his reflections and express himself in the case that they get a special round, for example

Would Luka willingly forfeit his desire for HyunA to stay to see her go out of love or of protectiveness? some secret third option, Or would he sacrifice himself because he thinks it's right, he thinks that is what love would look like? (I would think he must know how that would go, given Mizi and Till, for example, but Hyuna is different, just how much, though...) I will never forget that quote from the art book about Luka's opinion of Hyuna

"poor thing. she’s just trying to avoid the (inevitable) situation right now. if she were in my arms, her safety would have been guaranteed."

Luka wants to express his sincerity for HyunA, but that can manifest in many, many ways he's so confusing.. would he see protecting her as letting her go or giving it all up for and to her... but that's a theory, a film (explodes)
