I've been going through one hell of an art block lately and it's really starting to stress me the fuck out. I've got so many wips and ideas but actually sitting down and drawing anything has felt impossible. I'm open to any tips on getting inspired or bypassing this shit cause I'm struggling hard right now;;;.

On top of that, interacting with others in the invincible fandom has been difficult as hell,,, I get alot of DMs and messages but when I try to reply I just blank out and get too shy to actually say anything worthwhile ;;[ i think all my moots r insanely talented. like fr,, the skill and creativity in this fandom blows me away on the daily. part of the reason interacting has been so hard is bc i feel like i can't match up !! imposter syndrome is a bitch.

ALSO ..ANOTHER THING !! THIS IS IMPORTANT .. because i feel like ive offended some people by doing this but PLEASE know that I'm not ignoring your DMs/msgs on purpose!! I'm usually way more active on discord n or insta, and when I'm not I just get.. scared… !!! I hope we can get close eventually !! don't find me annoying when I spam like your posts,, I just think ur soso real when ur raving about the fucked up lil men in the fandom.. <<

Dick has told his friends and his team why he no longer associates with the Batman. That they just disagreed on many things. But it wasn’t true. He hated Batman but he also hated Bruce, maybe even more

His hatred started at the ripe age of 17 when he walked in on his adoptive parents fighting.

Dick hanged back in the hallway to see why they were fighting.

“YOU CHEATED ON ME AND GET HER PREGNANT AND YOU EXPECT ME TO STAY WITH YOU!” She yelled and Bruce hung his head low.

“I said it was an accident.” He mumbled so low Dick could barley hear. 

“An accident?” She scoffed before shoving past him, not stopping when she saw Dick. He watched her disappear into the elevator and stepped out from the hallway to catch Bruce’s eyes. He glared hard at him before stomping away to find the woman he has just started considering his mother. 

When he reached the closed door he pressed his ear against the door and heard her pained sobs. He opened the door softly and saw Y/n on the floor with a suitcase in front of her.

“Y/n?” He said softly and her head shot towards him. She wiped her eyes and put on her best smile.

“Hey, you need anything?” She asked and Dick noticed her lip quiver.

“I heard what he did to you.” He said and walked over to sit next to her. “You didn’t deserve it.” He pulls her in and she relaxes in his hold. 

“Dick. You know I have to go.” She said and Dick felt his heart stop.

“No-no you can’t leave.” He said and held onto her tightly. 

“I can’t.” She said and pulled back to grab clothes and place it in the suitcase. Dick looked at her shocked before sighing deeply and standing up to run out of the room. He ran to his own room and grabbed a suitcase, he shoved clothes and essentials to place in it. 

It was probably an hour later when Alfred came by and told Dick that Y/n wanted to see him down in the car. Alfred wasn’t shocked to see Dicks room completely empty and the suitcases by him, Y/n was the one Dick bonded with the most. 

He made his way down the manor until he saw Y/n outside placing her bags in a car and Bruce trying to reason with her. 

“Y/n! Don’t leave please.” 

“Im not staying here.” She said and placed her last bag in the trunk before shutting it. She looked back to see Dick running towards them with two suitcases behind him and a backpack. 

“Wait for me.” He said out of breath and dropped his stuff. Bruce looked at him in shock and tried to speak but she spoke first.

“Dick you can’t come with me.” She said and Bruce nodded.

“You have to stay here.” At hearing Bruce talk Dick rolled his eyes.

“You don’t get a say in this.” He seethed.

“Yes I do, Im your parent just as much as Y/n is.”

“Oh cut the bullshit you never considered me your kid just another weapon at least Y/n treats me like a human being.”  Said Dick and went to open the trunk but Y/n stopped him.

“Dick, I know your mad but I can’t give you a safe life, Bruce can.” You said and pulled him in for a hug. Dick gelt emotions run through him and he hugged her back tightly.

“I don’t want a new mom.” He said and started crying. Those words made Y/n was to cry hard again. 

“Y-You can always visit me, anytime you want.” She said and looked to Bruce who had red eyes and tears running down his face at the sight. 

Y/n slowly pulled away and gave Dick a bug kiss on the cheek. 

“Try to be good for me.” She said but Dick didn’t answer. She turned away and began walking to the drivers seat and slid in. The car turned on and she waved at Dick, then she was gone. Bruce and Dick watching her leave before Dick turned to Bruce with anger in his eyes. 

“How could you, you-you asshole!” He cried and Bruce tried to reach out for him.

“Dick im sorry-.” He was cut off when he face got hit with a heavy backpack. 

“Sorry? SORRY? YOU THINK SORRY IS GOING TO CUT IT, SHE LEFT US AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT, YOU HURT HER!” He yelled and walked away, grabbing his stuff in the process. “And don’t think im going to accept your new bitch and bastard.” What he said was cruel but he was just to angry to care.

Dick sat at the cafe and waited for his adoptive mother. The memory he just went through pained his heart. He watched Y/n enter the cafe and look around for him. Dick raised his hand to call her over with a big smile. 

“Hey sweetheart.” She said and welcomed him with big arms. Its been a few months since he had seen her since his move to Detroit. 

“I got you your drink.” He said and they sat down. “So what did you need to tell me that made you come here all the way from Metrapolis?” Y/n took a deep breath.

“Ok Dick, don’t get mad, because I know how you can be, but.” She started and Dick furrowed his eyebrows. “Me and Bruce started talking again.” Dicks eyes then widened.

“Why would you do that? After what he did?” He said and started feeling agitated.

“Hey, I know you two had another fall out and this isn’t al all what you wanted to hear but just listen.” She said and Dick instantly sat down and clasped his hand together on the table. “We got back in contact a few weeks ago and its been good, we caught up and realized how much time we lost.” 

“So whats going to happen? You’re going to get back together and let the same thing happen again.” He asked but she shook her head.

“We’re taking it slow.” Dick scoffed and leaned against the cafe chair. “But its not official, he was a kid with that woman, but now shes out of the picture. I mean part of the reason he even called was that his baby momma signed away her maternal rights and didn’t know what to do.” 

“I know I was there when she turned over Damien.” It was quite after that when she spoke.

“Dick?” 

“Hmm?” 

“I know you’re not happy about it but can you at least try to be happy for me?” She asks and he thinks.

“Ill try, for you.” He says and take a long sip of his drink before standing up and opening his arms. Y/n stepped into them and held her son tightly.

“Okay lets stop all these emotions, I want to hear about what my detective son has been doing.” Dick pulled back and gave her a bright smile.

“So much has happened that I need to tell you.”

I'm Not Sick (Dick Grayson Drabble)

“Dick, I’b fide!” you whined nasally through your clogged nose as you tried to march down the stairs to the Batcave, but Dick grabbed your arm.

“You are not fine. I can barely understand you through that stuffy nose. Now go back to bed right now!” Dick demanded as he pointed up towards the bedroom.

You crossed your arms defiantly across your chest. “I’b dot a little kid. You cad’t tell be what to do.”

“Want to bet?” Dick frowned. “Don’t think I won’t throw you over my shoulder and drag you back upstairs. And in your current condition, I doubt there’s much you could do to try and stop me.”

Giving him the most stubborn look you could muster, you tried to push past Dick. But just then a shiver tore through you so violently that you almost collapsed to the floor. Luckily, he was close enough that he managed to steady you before you fell. Concerned, he placed his hand on your forehead and his frown deepened.

“Baby, I think you need to go to the hospital. You’re really burning up.”

“I said I’b fide. Besides, I dod’t ever get sick.” But instead of continuing to fight back, you leaned your head weakly against Dick’s chest.

“You were captured and held in Mr. Freeze’s lair for two days. It makes sense that anyone stuck in that setting would catch a cold. That doesn’t make you weak, it makes you human.” He rubbed your back gently. “So, what do you say?”

“Cad you just take be to by roob?” You mumbled softly into his chest.

“Of course, baby. Whatever you want.”

Dick would have felt a lot better having you checked out by a doctor, but at the moment, he would take what he could get. So, gathering your shivering form into his arms, he began the long climb up the stairs towards your room.

As he carried you, you muttered, “Do you thidk Alfred could bake that soup I like?”

“I’m sure he can. I’ll ask him once I get you settled.” You softly hummed your thanks.

 When Dick finally made it to your room, he carried you inside and laid you down on the bed.  After tugging off your boots and peeling off your jacket, he covered you with your blanket and started to back out of the room.

“Cad you stay?” came a small voice from the darkness.

“I thought you wanted soup?” Dick asked.

“I do, but I wadt you bore.”

Dick smiled and reentered the room. “Of course, baby. I’ll stay as long as you want me to.”

He paused, quickly scrawling something on the notepad laying on your desk before placing it outside the door. Then Dick crawled into bed, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you tight against his chest. You snuggled gratefully into his arms and in no time, you were both fast asleep.

An hour later, Alfred happened to be walking by your room on his way downstairs when something caught his eye. He picked up the notepad that was leaning against your door and chuckled softly to himself as he read the note scribbled in Master Dick’s handwriting. Changing directions, he headed down to the kitchen to prepare your requested meal.

[Brief] Thoughts on Film Theory's Analysis

I was gonna post this on my priv twt.. but moots convinced me to post it here so here we are.. beware of spoilers, gore, bla bla bla ..

FIRST OFF I'm gonna start by saying, I AM ESL. I may or may not have misinterpreted some of his words, but this is mainly how I thought of his analysis. This is not meant to be ill-guided or rude ! so sorry if it comes off as this way. I will be very repetitive.

Another thing, most if not all of the information matpat gave out i alr discussed with a few mutuals on discord about a few months back so this is not new territory to me 😭😭 I thought most folks would already knew the concept of how the brain deteriorates overtime But honestly, that indisposition shouldn’t even apply to omni man??? matpat tried to compare an immortal Viltrumite's psychology to that of an aging human's, which can be misguided.

Let's start by how he compares Nolan's brain to the average aging human's brain so the audience could understand his psyche more and how empathy declines overtime. First and foremost, Nolan is not a human, second; Nolan wasn't raised with empathy or around an empathetic environment - it was an alien concept to his race. Something frowned upon. He was raised from birth to conquer and destroy without remorse. His brain never developed those neural pathways for empathy in the first place. It's not that they deteriorated over time, they were never even formed.

By the time he came to Earth, all this familial stuff was new to him. Sure, he knew he was gonna outlive them, but He didn't think he'd get attached. HE didn't process that he'd grieve over them when the time came.

Interacting with humanity for the first time ignited unfamiliar emotions in Nolan that he didn’t know how to process.

His time living amongst humans caused conflicting feelings he’d never experienced in his centuries of systematic slaughter. Loving Debbie and Mark went against everything he was taught, but he couldn't help it. For once, the lives he was manipulating to further Viltrum’s goals meant something to him. He developed a [what he presumed, NOT what he felt about them in reality, his love for them is far more profound than he assumed it to be which we later on see in the last ep of s1 and the second season] petty facsimile of love for his ersatz family.

So no, his capacity for empathy didn't decline with age as MatPat claims. His empathy was stunted from the start. An underdeveloped skill, not a deteriorated one. We had characters like Debbie to help him understand those notions, help him grow it. With Mark in the mix? it only amplified that development.

Viltrumites are societally and culturally predisposed to violence and domination. Nolan was never accustomed to forming emotional connections or grieving loss. Those were entirely new experiences for him after arriving on Earth. He was not jaded. he was grown into jamais vu in viltrum.

This is why the whole conflict in s1 happened, he was treading between double lives he wasn't sure of. He was conflicted because his past values were refuting with his new experiences. He found love on Earth, he found himself unable to accept how he'd lose Debbie. Of How jaded Mark might become. Everything he said to Mark till that point was his own self-projections, his own fears, doubts.

While the video did provide some interesting facts about neuroscience and aging, the application of those facts to Nolan's character was inaccurate. IT is educational for those who don't know, but it isn't recent news that the brain begins to deteriorate overtime so this video wasn't that informative which kinda disappointed me. Their analysis lacked alot of information about the Viltrumite race and Nolan's character. Comparing him to humans with normal life experiences just doesn't work. His immortal nature combined with a lack of empathy from birth created a psychology unlike anything seen on Earth.

SORRY FOR RANTING ALOT AND OR IF IT SEEMS LIKE I'M GIVING MATPAT SHIT ... i really liked their analysis on immortal so i'll give them that. Immortal, unlike Nolan, was born human. He has lived among humanity for over 3000 years, inhabiting different identities of public and devoted historians. Because of this, his psyche developed quite differently. Immortal knows how to form connections, experience loss, and adapt to social changes. His perpetual existence didn't harden his heart like Viltrum's brutal culture did to Nolan. Instead, Immortal's immortality allowed his empathy and compassion to blossom.

Humans are social creatures. Our brains have evolved to seek out interpersonal relationships, crave affection, and find meaning in community. For an immortal like Immortal, social interaction is vital to staving off boredom, depression and detachment from humanity.

By inhabiting mortal lives, he stays tethered to the human experience. He continues learning, growing, and developing empathy.

This is why he's devastated when the guardians die.

This is also why he goes fucking mental and tries to kill Omni-man.

If Immortal had lived in isolation all this time, unable to connect with people, his psyche would likely resemble Nolan's more closely. Without social interaction, Immortal's brain would atrophy in ways that preclude complex emotions and moral reasoning. His sense of purpose would fade, achievements would lose meaning, and life itself might feel pointless. By engaging with humanity, Immortal gives his endless existence purpose and direction. He finds value in each temporary life, so loss still impacts him deeply. Socializing keeps his emotions and cognition flexible, which prevents the apathy and hardness of heart seen in Nolan. Nolan never had these opportunities in his early years, this is why it's more difficult for him to stray away from his indoctrination. It's that he's unused to it, underdeveloped.

60 years to Nolan would've been a year and a half, so what's 20 measly years on Earth for him? Yes, he found profound connections in that little speck of time, but Immortal's emotional capacity is far more extensive.

In summary, Comparing Nolan to a human, whether mortal or immortal, is kinda inaccurate. His Viltrumite psyche rules out him from possessing JADED human qualities. its so cool 2 see art moots/followers ocs up on similar fandoms im in ‼️‼️ but i feel like half the time ,, their backstories n personages r so similar to mine (coincidentally cuz great minds think alike..) and i get so scared to post ab mine afterwards cuz it feels like i had ripped off or plagiarized their work n im like NO BBG WE JUST HAD SIMILAR IDEAS I LOVE YOUR WORK‼️‼️‼️😭😤

in referencing to several ocs i made back in other fandoms and my recent (2021 april) invincible one 💕❤️ everyone has such cool ideas and creative concepts ,, gwahh its all so exciting and intimidating all at once. im just sittinf in the corner w my silly snoochy (oc) hoping i could ramble ab them one day and then i see alot of ocs similar to her and i just get all excited 🙏🙏
