˖ ་ 💭 roro’s notes ( I have no idea what this is tbh, I wrote it in like 30 minutes after I watched a tiktok. I hope you guys enjoyed this! I actually had fun writing it I also wanted to say how proud I am of Oscar in his rookie year! He did so good! )

“You were talking to her! And you were smiling!” you shouted, your words coming out a little slurred from all the alcohol you had throughout the night. You had your arms crossed and you did your best to glare at your boyfriend who was standing across from you in the living room of your shared apartment. But it was more adorable than angry. 

“I was being polite! She was asking for suggestions on taxis to get her and her girlfriend home” Oscar voiced loudly, emphasizing the girlfriend part. He had tried to stay calm but after a whole Uber ride home of the silent treatment it was finally getting to him, he had to remind himself that his adorable girlfriend was very much drunk. 

The two of you had been out at the club with a few friends, and you were dancing when you noticed your boyfriend talking to another girl, you didn’t like how close she stood to him or the way he was smiling. Now the two of you stood in your living room, you dressed in some Pj pants and one of his shirts and Oscar was still wearing the clothes he wore out, he was too focused on defusing the situation to change. 

“She stood too close to you, and you didn’t even care” you said much quieter, your throat hurting from shouting and all the screaming along to the lyrics you did at the club. Your drunk mind started to play tricks on you, and you started to tear up the more you thought about the situation. 

“You’re the most jealous woman I know!” Oscar shouted as he threw his hands up before resting them on hips, he wasn’t upset with you he was just tired and in shock at what was going on. How did he get himself in this situation? Oscar clearly didn’t notice your watery eyes because if he did, he would have never raised his voice or said those words. 

“You know other women?” Your voice came out small and pitiful, tears slowly rolled down your face and your arms fell at your sides. Oscar’s shoulders sunk and he sighed, his poor girl was too drunk to fully understand what was happening. He stepped towards you and was quick to pull you into his arms for a hug “Awe baby.” 

“Pretty, you are the only woman for me” he speaks sweetly, holding you close to his chest. Knowing that the only way to calm you down was having you close and safe in his arms. His reassuring words let you melt into his arms, tightly holding onto his waist while he hugs your shoulders. 

“Promise?” You sniffled, your voice coming out muffled, but Oscar heard you clearly. Your eyes closed, you felt so tired all of a sudden and the warmth from Oscar was not helping you stay awake. 

“I promise pretty” he promises as he rubs your back softly with a smile on his lips. You tilt your head up to look at him, your chin resting on his chest. Oscar smiles and softly pecks your nose before pecking your lips, his thumbs softly wiping away any tears that were still on your pretty face. He spoke quietly, seeing the tiredness in your eyes.

 “Now let’s go to the bathroom, you forgot to take your makeup off on your left side.”

It's spoopy month! How do the members of the fellowship carve their pumpkins, and how long does it take for Pippin's carving knife to get confiscated?

The fellowship pumpkin carving

Aragorn:

-He’s sort of a closeted crafter/artist

-He is humble with it but it always looks great

-He knows how to use a knife so it shouldn’t be too surprising

-Will only use one knife for the whole thing; doesn’t use any of the fancy tools

Legolas:

-He doesn’t quite understand the purpose but he is happy to learn other people’s traditions

-He spends a long time on it

-He’s annoyingly humble

-In the way that he is like “it could be better. I’m sure I’ll improve for next year”

-But then he turns his pumpkin around and it’s something like this bullshit

-Take your perfect elvish ass somewhere else Legolas

Gimli:

-Takes pumpkin carving very seriously

-And damn is it always a masterpiece

-The type to do carvings like it is stone or wood

-It is often reminiscent of those face carvings people do into trees

-He’s very proud of it; and he should be

Boromir:

-He always makes the exact same pumpkin every year

-And not scary because he doesn’t want to upset anyone

-Little Faramir didn’t like his scary pumpkin so he changed his design

-If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

-He’s more there to chat and have fun; he isn’t paying that much attention tbh

-Drinks ale while carving (please don’t handle knives when drinking)

Frodo:

-Keeps it simple but prefects what he does; no messy edges

-Although he is a horror fan he makes cute pumpkins

-I imagine he is a bigger fan of just fall activities rather than Halloween itself

-He actually may prefer to paint the pumpkins

Sam:

-Laser focused

-Mumbles to himself the whole time

-Keeps a bucket for the seeds because he will bake them later

-Makes a decent design but then forgets how carving works and accidentally carves off the whole thing

Merry:

-Makes the weirdest design he can

-Often does some sort of pop culture reference

-Will make pumpkin helmets

-He tries to convince Legolas that Elmo is some sort of deity and this is a religious pumpkin

Pippin:

-His favorite part is just carving out the pumpkin

-And throwing the guts around

-He gets right in there; why use a spoon when God gave you hands?

-He has pumpkin under his nails for days

-Always picks the biggest pumpkin he can find

-He gets bored quickly though so he ends up making a whole scene

Gandalf:

-Not a fan of the mess

-So he uses an assortment of tools to keep things clean and precise

-Although he probably only does a very small pumpkin and makes it very detailed

-He mostly enjoys watching the hobbits have fun while also making sure no one gets stabbed

"Deeds, not words"

A/n: Finally finished this and tbh I am very proud of how it came out even if I see that I could have done better in certain areas. I prefer the first one better, but tbh I love them both. I have scrambled together a little story to go along with this, although I do have to warn that the details of Jien and Proxy's story, how it really unfolds, is still subject to change. This drabble here is just me exploring ideas of how Proxy can start seeping more and more poison into Jien's life, but we'll see. To anyone that does read it, thank you <3 Mwah.

Contents: Syaoran, a technician of the team of Armed Archeologists, is accompanying Jien to Scalegorge Waterscape at the invite of a High Elder. What waits for them there is no warm welcome.

There is an odd tension in the air, so ill it made him sick. Scalegorge Waterscape had towering walls of water all around, and it felt as if they were ready to swallow him at any moment, the sky above being the only solace. The air was still with the smell of salt, and there was a quiet sound. Like the one a dog made before it growled. 

Miss YueXia didn’t budge, and Syaoran judged it was because she was from these parts. Perhaps she felt at home even, but whether that was good or bad didn’t have space in their conversation with the Elder before them. And now he could sense that feeling of anger from Jien, he only wished he could see her face from where he stood, a step behind her. Did she look angry? Or was it that cold expression she once served the team after that messed up expedition?

“We have welcomed you into our fold and treated you as our own. Yet our eyes have reported your face sneaking about in the night around the Luofu, sowing suspicions and spreading gossip. Is this your way to show gratitude, YueXia?”

The Elder looked at Jien with cold suspicious eyes. 

“High Elder, while I appreciate your invitation to meet me I fail to see how or why I would do such things, especially since I have not been on the Luofu in almost a year” she replied, cold and even tone, yet there was an unmistakable tinge of some need below it all - a need to make things right. A flicker of a flame. 

“Moreover, I have never wished you or the people of Luofu any ill will and I have always advocated for the safety of the civilians as much as a Cloud Knight. Did you bring me here to confront me for something another has done?”

“Another?” the Elder bristled, arrogance rolling off of him like a cloak. “I have seen it myself, this ‘another’ was you. I saw your face in the darkness. And you dare lie to my face? The Disciples of Sanctus Medicus have been on the prowl and you with them. I knew the IPC wishes to get their clutches on the Vidyadhara, but I refused to believe you would aid in such a goal”

That is not true, Syaoran wanted to say, feeling his face twist in displeasure. Jien was against the Abundance, against the Disciples, the whole team knew, but even if she wasn’t - her team was. Syaoran knew Kaiya had a burning hatred for the Abundance and his wife was from the Xianzhou Yaoqing. He’d be the first to jump against any idea of Jien bringing any harm to Xianzhou Luofu, but everyone knew she’d sooner go mad than think of such schemes. 

“Do you know how many you’ve hurt with your doings? And you wish to say my eyes are deceiving me as well?” 

Jien’s eyes fell dark and darker still, her jaw stiff as she ground her teeth together, listening to the Elder talk without interrupting him.

“I meant no insult when I previously said you were mistaken in your assertion, but now you are accusing me and my team of inexcusable crimes and I will not tolerate such” Her tail brushed against the cold stone, pale and gnawed away by sea and time. “High Elder, I can assure you I had no chance to do such things, even if I had the plan to ever harm you and the people, which I remind you again - I never did and never will do. I was half a cosmos away. Do you propose I have, perhaps, cloned myself? I pray you don't jest, High Elder, and listen to what I have to say. Who you saw was not me, I swear on my life..” Jien put her hand over her heart to show her sincerity as the seams of her silence began to tighten and break. 

The Elder Syaoran couldn’t remember the name of frowned deeply at her words, distrust swimming in his eyes, body taut as a bow string. “And you propose I believe you over the reports of countless others?” 

“I cannot force you to put those reports aside and trust my word alone, but I hope the eyewitnesses of my team, as well as camera surveillance and date records of my passage through the cosmos can be proof enough to you and so many others that are holding the belief that I or any of my team have committed these crimes. I am more than willing to bring them all over here, to you, as soon as morning comes if that would let your mind let go of these beliefs” Jien sighed and shook her head a moment later. “Although, I do fail to see - if these crimes are so severe, I would have expected someone else to come and question me about them..” there was a mild insult interlaced between her words and tone, so skillfully that not even the Elder before her could point it out without sounding mad.

He only exhales a long breath through his nose. “You will be questioned by the Ten-lords Commission” he said, tone resolute. Syaoran could see Jien move her hands behind her back, her fingers forming into a fist. Somthing told Syaoran that the High Elder came to this decision on the spot.. “The evidence is overwhelming and not in your favor. But I will give you until morning to bring your evidence to us, and we’ll take it from there”

Dimitrescu sisters catified references

I posted a few drawings of these three in cat form and I thought I'd share the reference drawings i made for them. I wanted to add little traits that they share, but while also making them all unique.

family traits:

all three have a stripe that leaves from their eye.

beige chests and bellies (aside from Bela who only has a lighter chest)

a white marking that represents something about them (kinda) + one stripe going in the direction of that white spot

the ear tufts (Bela's are shaped differently, but she still has ear tufts)

their jaw structure is all about the same (square-ish), Cassandra's is just hidden by the fluff

Bela

I wanted her to be smooth. she takes great pride in keeping her fur clean, but there is ONE spot she can't tame and those are her fluffs right above where her front legs begin. (it makes her so mad)

I am mean I gave Bela a lot of heart-shapes everywhere; her ear tufts, the "shoulder" tufts, the white spot, her tail being a three in one, her dorsal stripe ending in one, ...

her tail is always droopy.

she's technically the same size as Daniela, but because in my mind she slouches a lot (It's a slightly more defensive posture), Daniela always seems to be taller than her.

her white spot is, as previously stated, a heart. It's very on the nose, but I never said I'd not hammer on that little detail. Her stripe there does do an interesting thing: before Miranda takes away her heart, the stripes don't cover her spot, just like with her sisters, but as soon as Miranda did her thing the stripes move slightly to now end on the heart. once she gets her heart back the stripes move again, away from her marking.

she has one scar and that is her nicked ear. it fully got rid of her (also heart-shaped) ear tuft. she got this when Miranda took her heart. (~symbolism~)

her eartufts are fully shaped differently than her sisters' and mother's. It is my favorite way to draw ear tufts, but that's beside the point.

I imagined her as looking the least like Alcina. I don't really know why exactly, but I did. I also decided to give Heisenberg's dog for the same eyecolor as her and beige markings that mimic these of Bela and her sisters. he's family and Alcina hates it.

(well actually I kinda have the idea in my head that she's kinda the daughter that wasn't really good, a first draft if you want. she's the elders, but her younger sister recieves more attention than her and I just find it striking, so I made her look the least like Alcina to make that distance between the two more tangible)

I did not have the courage to draw her cult ending form. I didn't want to cry.

Cassandra

spikey, and she likes it that way. her fur is groomed, she just keeps it more natural. she thinks (and she's kinda correct) that it'll make her more charming and attractive (to some)

I pretty much had wolves in my head while drawing her, I wanted her to be a bit more canine-like than her two sisters. Misunderstood, seen as dangerous and solitaire beasts, but actually very caring to those they love. But also imposing and grandiose. whereas Daniela is just a cat, chilling and Bela is a cat and tbh she's tired, Cassandra hogs the spotlight and demands attention.

I wanted to make her makings sharp. nearly all of them have pointy ends. you have to handle her with precaution or you'll end up hurt. she doesn't do this intentionally though;

star-shaped chest marking, because she is a star, obviously. She flaunts about it everywhere she can, much to everyone's annoyance.

no scars because this diva will never try to get into actual trouble. She cries at the first sight of (real) blood.

her ear tufts are very similar to Alcina's and she's very proud of it. she is a mama's girl after all.

she's not all fluff, there are some muscles underneath the fur, but her fur is pretty long still. she can hide small items in her fur if she wants.

shortest out of the three sisters (like in the game). stands as tall as she can to still appear taller than Bela. she's got basically the ebst posture just to win against Bela.

Daniela

somehow, despite her activities, she has the smoothest and cleanest fur (Bela is very jealous, but will never admit it). she says she just cleans it and there is no secret. Bela swears she'll one day understand how she does that.

very muscular because she's always off doing sport of whatever. due to this she's also the strongest out of her sisters and very much able to win a fight against them, but she doesn't want to actually fight with them, so this fact doesn't see much use.

the scars she has are from the occasional accident. running a bit too fast and tripping for example. They're all very funny, albeit embarrassing stories that her sisters Love to share.

she's very round, shape wise. aside from a few sharp angles or straight-ish lines, everything is softened out; she is very friend shaped. unless she's angry and then you realize she's a lot stronger and taller than most.

her chest marking is the one I kinda dropped the ball on if you want my honest opinion. It's oval-esque and could be seen as her board since she loves skateboarding, but it's also just because it flowed better with the rest of the stripes I gave her.

round, friendly (and slightly curious) eyes. she's very cute and will convince you of anything when she wanted to, yet she doesn't really look very kit-like.

as tall as Bela, but obviously looks the tallest due to Bela's grumpy slouching. she teases her sisters about that.

her heart tufts look like a between part of Bela and Cassandra's. it was an accident, but it's cute so I kept it.

the freckles and heterochromia were obviously brought into this design. I am an avid fan of both.

let's talk process!

Bellow is a video of my latest thg art! I think I never shared video on here, so I thought I'd give it a go!

I wish this was a reblog of the original post but tumblr didn't let me. So here we are! I felt like talking a bit more about this piece because it was so good to make it. I am actually proud of how it turned out! The impression of depth works well enough and the lighting too, which made me very happy - happy to be able to give Katniss and Rue this sweet moment in such a dark story. I can't recall if this exact scene happens in the book, but it must be similar enough.

Still figuring out My Katniss. That's not exactly how I want to draw her. But a victory here is that she looks like an actual teen - something I struggle with tbh hehe. Little Rue is not exactly how I see her as well, but I love to see her sleeping peacefully like this with someone taking care of her.

This just......sprung up in my brain as listened to thg yet again because i have brainrot and need to be constantly entertained to be able to work lately. And it broke my heart and mended it continuously. Rue is so little and innocent, and even if she wasn't reaped, she already had a miserable and exploited life in district 11. That's so unfair. And the way Katniss stood by her, gave her the most she could, told her she was strong, lifted her up in the short period the two had together - makes me love them so much. Makes me love Katniss very much! This girl dared to > LOVE <. I guess that's the heart of this illustration, the daring to love in the direst circumstances.

As for the makings ofs its. T'was made on procreate with a funny little brush named quoll. Very ill tempered. But very beautiful watercolor look. I did have to do it in layers of color to get it right, which is also very watercolor-like. The thing to make it look like people are LAYING DOWN is to draw their faces as seen slightly from below. Does the trick every time. Now for the ground, I think it's the blue that gives the depth, and the lack of detail. The unfocused leaves gave me a bit of a hard time, hard to figure out their color and lighting. Even drew focused leaves. I very much lack the processing power do draw leaves and flowers and complex things. But we manage! Just keep arting and you'll manage.

I finally drew a full body image of my oc…….i had to use the Anne model because i was fighting for my life to make it look good on my own since i’m very shitass at drawing💀 but surprisingly i’m a little proud of it i think it looks a little cute…..i can’t tell if she’d get along with Rosario because i haven’t came up with any personality traits but hopefully they do🙏

for the coming out thing just. How did you do it? I’m working up the courage and really look up to you. Just like, what was your journey?

So I did it little by little!

First step is admitting it to yourself. No one really talks about coming out to yourself but it’s a real thing hahaha.

But first I told a close friend, then a few other close friends til I had a little crew I could be myself with. Also helps if they’re in the community, but, mine were not. Well now they are but they didn’t know that at the time. Anyways

Then I told the sister I felt closer to, then my other sister, then my mom, and then my dad.

I texted the first sister bc was scared to say it out loud. I told my other sister when we were in the car, my dad stepped out to grab Chinese food and I took my opportunity hahahha then she had to sit with that all the way home 😂

I told my mom when we were watching Enchanted and I was sobbing bc it couldn’t stay in anymore. That wasn’t the best situation unfortunately. I won’t go into details bc privacy and respect for her growth, but I ended up going back in the closet for a little while. There was a lot going on around my coming out at the same time so it just sort of bubbled up into a big thing.

I told my dad in our jacuzzi one night bc it was dark and I was like…well he probably already knows I’m sure my mom told him. He took it quietly but well. I’m proud of him for that tbh bc he’s still a very conservative man, but socially he’s grown. At least on gay rights.

It’s a scary thing, but I sort of tested the waters by bringing up the topic of gay marriage, etc around them and seeing how they felt and how they responded.

2 things that I want to stress:

I came out in 2011, 13 years ago. Gay marriage wasn’t legal, trans issues were barely talked about, and the most rep I had on TV was Kurt & Blaine on Glee and Marco from Degrassi haha. The world was a much different place, however, I am not gonna sit here and say it’s easier bc the queer experience is difficult, especially when you’re first coming out.

2- give your family time. The way I had it explained to me was that I had 16 years to accept myself and get used to the idea that I was gay, initial reactions will not always be the final reactions. My parents have both grown exponentially since I came out, and they’re my fiercest supporters now. Give them time. There’s a whole period of learning and readjusting from what they thought they knew to what the reality is.

Also, tell whoever you want, it doesn’t have to be a big public announcement if you don’t want it to be. I came out on Twitter after being in the closet all throughout high school (private catholic high school L) and went semi viral throughout the school bc finally I was able to say it out loud haha. But when it came down to telling the people closest to me, I just sort of let them know I wanted to tell them something kind of serious and that I needed their trust.

All that being said, as long as you accept yourself and you have a support system- be that irl friends, family, internet friends, etc. you’ll be ok. There’s a community out there waiting for you no matter where they might be 💙

Gods and Goddesses

I honestly loved the idea that Kate AA had about the portals and the secret hidden keys to them that had been hidden to prevent the gods return. (And that the truth about them has been lost for centuries, to the point that no one really knows about them) Also the fact that Kate pointed out that there were like ~elemental~ keys and as I continue to think more about the gods/goddesses, I do have four of them being gods/goddesses of the elements and started to think that perhaps each god has a key that is sorta tied to them in some way?

And to bring the gods and goddess back to earth only one of the portals needs to be opened, however they will be like mortal men and women until more of the portals are opened and they can start regaining more and more of their godly powers and strengths? (And will reach their full godly powers only when all ten are opened?)

I'm still working on all of their stories, etc. but here is what I have so far!

Amestris - goddess of wisdom; of the earth; of history, and academia; has no sympathy for fools; humans were made in the image of gods and she finds it an insult to herself when they are stupid (possibly mother to Artaynte and Alya??)

Artaynte - goddess of light; the sun; the sky; sister to Alya

Alya - goddess of space; the moon; the stars; goddess of grief and lost; goddess beloved to house stafford is said to have personally come down from the heavens to bestow a crown of stars upon the first stafford king; is said to have later fallen in love with him during the first time the gods came to earth and they married and had a child together, but she ultimately had to return to the heavens when the war was over and he and their child both eventually died. Her child was a demi-god and was blessed with long life, but ultimately mortal; sister to Artaynte

Cambyses - god of textiles; of trade; of gold and jewels (brother to Mestrius??)

Cyrus - god of wind; of air; hurricanes; of war; of revenge

Damaspia - Queen of the gods; goddess of mothers and of little children; mother to Darius and Xerxes

Darius - god of death/ruler of the underworld/god of autumn/god of fire/his father told him he must never venture into the underworlds, but darius was blinded by his own ambitions to have a place of his own to rule that he went there, anyway. the underworld was where the souls of the dead were to go to rest and spend eternity-- but it was always supposed to remain untouched by the gods. when darius went there he placed a curse upon the place -- and himself. (The details of which I am still working out tbh) And he shall remain cursed until he returns home and beg his father for forgiveness. But Darius is proud and he will never go back unless he is triumphant. Darius means to find a way to raise an army of monsters and claim heaven and his father's seat as his own.

Lucius - god of wine; merriment; riddles; finds humans to be amusing but does not have the same spot for them that roya does

Mestrius - king of the gods; father to Darius and Xerxes; creator of the universe

I was looking at my art today, comparing old and new works. It's kind of funny how the amount of effort I put into my art varies depending on the medium. Don't get me wrong, in the end the total amount is usually the same, but it balances differently in certain areas of my art and that is affected by whether I'm making art digitally or traditionally!

I find the best example of this is with backgrounds. When I paint, a lot of my work relies on the line art, really. I'm still pretty new to watercolours and even though I know some techniques, I'm not the greatest at rendering things. To make up for that, I draw a lot of details with my pen and use wash/bleed techniques to create fun backgrounds for the characters I draw! It's where most of my time is spent, and it helps me make art that is both visually appealing and fun to look at.

Now when I draw digitally, it's a little different. I've been drawing on the computer for about 17 years, and I have never really been one to study or use tutorials, so I'm truly self-taught! But that's probably why I have less patience to draw things like backgrounds in my digital art. With all the free use assets and brushes in CSP, I whip up cool backgrounds in no time and instead focus on the subjects a lot more, with proper rendering, details and lines.

That said, I'm not 100% comfortable JUST using premade assets! I instead will take them and edit them with my own drawings, and of course colour corrections. I also supplement certain parts of a bg with my own art- I don't need a special brush for everything.

You can see below what I mean! In the first pic, the flag is 100% drawn by me. But the bushes, the building, even the clouds are all assets. The brick wall is both! I used textures and a basic guide to create the shape of the wall and such, and then with a pen I added the smaller lines and details. Then in the second image, it's very much the same- the trees and building, even the people in the bg are assets, but I drew the sign from scratch (which I am quite proud of tbh), and of course added the details in the grass myself too. And with everything there's lots of colour editing and overlays to give it that perfect look. It's a lot of fun to make these backgrounds, and it still saves time compared to drawing it all myself!!

8. if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for…

A sequel itself, I think I would love to explore medieval AU fic. I have no idea what about, but I loved that little world. Also, 23'sSupercorptober, also same thing. I could keep writing on that world, I'm just not sure what about 😂 ALSO ALSO, for mayhem fic @snowydragonscave and I had to actively stop ourselves because we could have kept writing and adding details, but we felt that we were running out of time.

18. if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic

This was from mayhem's fic, I did include part of it (i think, it's a blur) but think I rewrote it. I don't tend to keep many deleted scenes. This was my first draft of the start of the fic, but it felt confusing and disjointed, so back to the chalkboard i went, lol. She loves a routine. She wakes up at 6:10 AM, takes a quick shower and hits the building’s gym. She stretches and uses the treadmill for 10 minutes, before hitting the rowing machine for 20 minutes, in 1-minute intervals training, and then she does some stretches to cool down. She returns to her own penthouse, to take a more relaxing shower, painstakingly apply makeup over her body and face, and dresses herself for the day. Sometimes, she even has a quick breakfast; most of the time, she drinks a cup of espresso, and runs towards the door. It works for her. Once upon a time, she would do some extra squats and deadlifts at the gym, to keep up with her fencing training, but that was when she was a too young college kid and didn’t have a company to run. Now she can dedicate no more than 35-minutes daily to her workout, to make it to the office before 8:00 AM.  She’s still getting used to her new routine, after years of avoiding LuthorCorp, now it’s been almost a year since she had to face the reality of taking over the company. In all honesty, no one was happy about it. Not the board, not Lex, definitively not her, but the Luthors have majority Lillian just put her name forward, for only God knows what reason, when Lex was arrested.  Everything just piled up and was what made her take the decision to move an entire company to the other side of the country. Because her brother went into a murderous spree, to kill one single being. Her first move as acting CEO was to move headquarters. The next one was to rename the company, separate it from the Luthor name, maybe it could survive whatever sentence Lex was about to get. The move has been in the works for almost a year, and Lena has been traveling to and fro the west-coast since the decision had been made and she assumed the charge of her family’s company.

I really liked the research about witchcraft, actually. it was very superficial, of course, but all the meaning of flowers and intention was really fun. I do really superficial research, tbh, especially when I realized that I was doing pretty deep research and never using it, or it was like A LINE in the fic, and that took so much time that I figured I just needed to check if I could get away with it 😂

24. how do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative?

In all honesty, part of my brain is always thinking about creating something, it's not something i can turn off, but, when i'm in no writing mode, I read fics, watch movies and tv. Go for a drive. Lowkey always watching youtube. Recently i've been trying to draw more, tho, i think that counts as a creative thing???

Heya! I really appreciate how manage to get each fanfic you write to really carry the voice of the character youre writing about! Like how in the lucifer/angel fic a lot of the text is packed with lucis inner monologue compared to how much dialogue goes on, really gets to how lucifer is really in his own head, and just from the words you use and how you write a reader can see a lot of that inner monologue consists of overthinking and all his other little quirks hes gained from so much isolation and rejection over the years.

When I thought about it, compared to the vox/alastor fic you wrote, its much more dialogue, and a lot of the internal thoughts and text is more observations about vox (some of them sarcastic, others analyzing things like vox's body language) and amusing descriptions of the situation.

Im just wondering, do you plot all these details in your head, or do you jot them down on paper? IMO it seems like in general some fanfics struggle with keeping the character's voice when describing things outside of the dialogue ,and tend to sound like its being narrated/observed by the writer, rather than a look inside how the character thinks/talks. It can be a tricky thing to really get a characters voice down TBH

I am a huge outliner for every single fic I write, except the occasional single-scene NSFW oneshots that kinda write themselves! But character voice is usually actually not heavily involved in that outline, haha.

I think for my first Proper Fic (TM) on AO3, The Sword of Damocles is Swinging, which was a 60k word character study of Hawks from My Hero Academia, I did do a lot of outlining regarding his characterization and how I wanted to portray that because I felt like if I didn't write all of it down then I wouldn't be able to wrap my head around him. But this type of thing has very quickly become a matter of "code-switching" into a character's head for me, basically. Characterization has always been really important to me, and I remember back when I was in my "1k words is an accomplishment I'm genuinely very proud of" stage of writing, it was the thing that made me the most nervous, because I was afraid of not being able to write characters that felt like themselves.

What actually really helped with this is that I spent like 4 years doing Homestuck fantroll OC roleplay, haha. It was the perfect combination of "these are my characters so I automatically know all there is about them" + "but they are their own distinct characters with different personalities and inner voices, so it's still great practice," and then ofc roleplay being a very rewarding, collaborative, and social activity as well that gets posted in smaller, easier-to-write chunks than an entire fanfic.

For the Hazbin characters, I mostly rewatched some of their big scenes (like most of the Angel episode, or Lucifer's intro) for a reminder and a point of reference, paying particular attention to their body language, the intended vibe of how they're portrayed, and the way they talk, but it's less note-taking and more like that moment before a choir starts singing where the teacher blows a whistle to remind them where that note is, haha.

Anyway, basically, we're all reaping the rewards of me being a long-term roleplayer who's really into writing in third-person limited rather than omniscient. 🤭

As you can see, some moments are quoted almost directly bc I thought of neat lines while outlining, while others are fairly loosely outlined because I know it's going to be easy to write once I get there and I'm not accidentally already writing it in my brain. all right so, some more thoughts on act 2 of baldur's gate 3 now that i finally replaced my hard drive and have been able to play again! this is basically all about like the very end of act 2 because i enjoyed it but just didn't really write things down for most of it.

so first of all i actually kind of love ketheric thorm and the tragedy of his character. i love villains who are willing to destroy themselves and the world for the sake of their family 💖

however i wish that if you talked to him about his wife and passed the checks to try persuading him to repent you could actually change the outcome of things. like what if you could save him and recruit him.... i honestly really think my tav would've felt a bit of empathy toward his situation and wanted to save him if they could, and also personally i just find him more interesting than halsin or even jaheira asdkjfghsdf

i'm sure jaheira is a lot cooler to people who know her from previous baldur's gate games but having 2 druids feels a bit redundant when there are so many other classes and she and halsin both become recruitable a little too late imo, especially given that halsin kind of has nothing to do after he finally joins you. ketheric would be an even later addition but sorry i just think he's so cool and that making one of the villains redeemable + recruitable would've been neat!

ANYWAY i also love the fact that even though i was spoiled on a lot of random bits and pieces about the different companions' personal stories before i started, i was not really spoiled at all on the actual main plot of this game lol. it just makes it that much more exciting getting to see how it all unfolds.

i also wasn't spoiled on the details of wyll's pact and now that he's finally talked about it, i love his character even more!! he's literally like if a disney prince loved his home and its people so much that he sold his soul to save them. i wish we could've had a full flashback when he agreed to show us what happened like the ones we get when we see into shadowheart's past.

i also wish he got more appreciation from fans and had a more complete romance but we all know why he doesn't 😔

i think this is literally the first "stereotypical horny bard" dialogue i've come across omg 😭 didn't actually pick this because it would've been ooc for elenion to say but i will say i think it would've been really funny if there was like. romance-specific dialogue here because you have such insane first meetings with every companion. i'm just imagining elenion going "love at first sight? i suppose so, although for me it was more like love at first hand" and leaving isobel wondering wtf that's supposed to mean

all of this confusion and going back and forth about whether to trust the dream guardian... and they were a mind flayer the whole time!! tbh that actually does not make elenion automatically stop trusting them because we've met omeluum and he didn't seem bad, but what does kind of make them lose trust in the emperor is the whole "encouraging you to turn into a mind flayer" thing... yeah, not doing that.

actually though i found out a while ago that something was up with the dream guardian but like. i was expecting them to turn out to just be fully evil and wanting to try and manipulate us more directly after the reveal, not for them to be acting like a nice friendly heroic mind flayer, so that does come as a surprise!

i wish i had thought to take lae'zel with me to the astral plane in case she would've had anything to say about orpheus while we were there... but oh well, i didn't really have her on my team during act 2 and she wasn't relevant to basically any of its story so i missed her a lot and i am so proud of her now for how she told off vlaakith.

??? halsin just tried to confess his love to elenion and said he thinks they feel the same way and i mean... at least he was very kind and understanding when they rejected him but i am baffled because i haven't really had him in the party at all and. like. when he asked them to tell him a secret they even said they didn't feel like there was anything to tell because they didn't wanna open up to him too deeply (well, and also because for some reason the only other option is to say you're afraid of krakens), but now he thinks they're in love with him? 😭 i've heard that it used to be extremely easy to accidentally romance gale but i do not understand how this happened with halsin. oh well.

oh yeah also i got this dialogue from wyll and i wish there was an option to say that you're anxious about being back or something. because elenion has been sort of avoiding visiting home and only going back very infrequently for a very long time and he and wyll are close so i imagine that wyll knows why that is. but i ended up just picking the first option and imagining that wyll is too polite to question it.

anyway, i've stepped into rivington and am ready to start exploring it but i'm going to end this post here for now!

I would first like to ask about Conquest ( ugh again, paris Anon ? ) Anyways, regarding how you get your magical girl abilities, what makes Almagros' ability in a way violent ? Having to use other people's ( or otherwise ) body parts, organs, etc, as I know previously said about Conquest, they don't really seem like the super violent type if that makes sense ? I would also like to know the same for Death, not only where her ability stems from but also possibly a little more detail to what her power is like, I take great interest in Moris' ability LMAO

I would also like to ask about yuri....👀I am very intrigued about her....I think the power she has is super cute but also really funny as if I got a power based on things I feared I would want a refund fr 😭🙏🏽🙏🏽 poor girl, sending her the best of luck on that 😞😞😞

Next I would like to ask about peneume....I've been so brainrotted with them I fear, it's so dire. For one, I love their design so much 😭🩷🩷🩷 it's very satisfying to look it....the darker colors look awesome on them !!! So I would just like a little info on them if you can provide some. Though if I may, I would specifically like to ask about Peneume's leg. It's so pretty and quite honestly, really cool, I think I fear my love for Peneume is growing hrgdhdhdhdhrh

Which is wild because, quite honestly, I've been thinking about them a lot as well as Peneume 😭😭 I for one would love to see their weapon in action....it would be so interesting to see how they would use it ( I love characters with unconventional weapons which a lot of project martyr have ) I golly.....I really like that ribbon piece around their neck.............it almost reminds me of something.............ANYWAYS there was never really any questions for abaddon i just really wanted to appreciate them 💔💔

I would like to get a little personal, though, so feel free not to read this part, but if you do, then thanks tbh......okay get really close..........I would love to say that you should definitely be proud of Novaturient. You've put so much effort and dedication into it, I would also like to say that in a way, I love that your characters can always be somewhat relatable, which I think is awesome. And I feel like I part of that comes from you putting a little peice of yourself into every single one, and tbh I admire that. I think it takes a lot to take the worst parts of yourself and reflect that back to your character. In a way, I think that's like accepting those small pieces of yourself and moving forward with it. And I congratulate you on that. You are able to make these characters feel real. You are able to make me sympathize with these characters and understand their view. You make these characters so human, which is why I love all of them so much. Sometimes, I see pieces of me in these characters, which honestly makes me love these characters even more. I want you to know that this is something to be proud of. You're doing great neon 🩷🩷🩷

conquest's parents were dying right in front of him getting burned alive and he had to run away to survive, but eventually living on the streets and homeless shelters and eventually enosichthon corp. just kinda led him to believe the only way to survive is through violence and taking what you want (he still doesn't do this though if he can help it, the mindset just hardened his heart)

death's parents and to-be-born baby brother died in a car crash and they were the only survivor and they were looped into a day job with a shitty garden store owner who happened to grave robbed on the side and used mori as a scapegoat and she later got into a car crash while trying to get her driver's license, killing her driving instructor as well

basically her entire life is kind of a nightmare and surrounded by death and she's eventually come to believe she herself is a omen of death

YURI IS LIKE NOVATURIENT'S JERMA985. SHE IS LITERALLY A FAILGIRL 24/7 AND IS SCREAMING AND YELLING ALL THE TIME. she doesn't have a hopkins, she just has her entire twitch chat bullying her. but she is gay girlfriending with her girlfriend aya

they're a ghost buster exterminator duo, yuri exorcises ghost + bug like vagabonds entirely, but if she's unable to do so, aya comes in and collects the weakened vagabonds who she can recruit them and use them to hunt other ghosts (think suguru geto from jjk. she's also meant to be more blue than pink but i only had a pink marker on me...)

prosthetics are kind of meant to be appealing/cool looking (war is the only one atm that has a designed prosthetic but theirs is also very overly designed on purpose), novaturi absolutely has a toxic beauty standard and no one is allowed to look remotely ugly or they're bullied relentlessly/pressured until they get plastic surgery or do something to change themselves. however, this doesn't apply if you're a magical girl who got their body modifications from fighting for novaturi (yayy hypocrisy)

I’M SO GLAD I’M ABLE TO MAKE ALL MY CHARACTERS AT LEAST A LITTLE RELATABLE…. it’s very important to me that my characters are extremely flawed yet you can understand why they are so flawed, character writing is absolutely my favorite part, making everything line up and their motivations clear and how their history has shaped them as people…

I really do love making characters fully fleshed out, rather than just one dimensional or single note, (it does bite me in the ass writing wise, but at least it forces me to make everyone an actual character…) i feel like it adds so much more to the world/story if you can at least understand everyone’s motivations, and have you at least think for a couple of seconds before placing blame or scrutinizing them

i really do think making every character batshit crazy insane helps me accept those worst parts tbh… this project has helped me through so many tough times and i’m glad it able to touch the hearts of more people, not just me or my friends…
