She can’t pinpoint exactly when her feelings towards Steve began to evolve again. Maybe back when he’d saved her at the mall. Maybe when he’d risked his life time and time again for the kids. Maybe when he’d shown up after Fred’s death, his face her only reprieve from a waking nightmare; or perhaps when he’d been calling her name, desperately trying to wake her from Henry’s trance. 

Or maybe, she thinks, the feelings never truly left at all.

Trauma has a way of bonding people — sometimes to their detriment — and it’s one of the many reasons why Nancy’s purposefully remained single after her and Steve’s alcohol-fueled breakup years ago. 

—but it’s different with him, isn’t it? They’d liked each other before all of this crazy bullshit had showed itself to them. Surely that had to mean something, right?

     Nance. I miss you.

It’s a brisk October night, yet after Steve’s confession, Nancy feels anything but chilly. Warmth like she’s never known it pools in her gut; and with crimson painted cheeks, she finally allows herself to let the worries go. 

Just for a moment. Let me just have a moment. 

All thoughts of the Upside Down, of Max, of Henry, of the impending danger they’re all facing — all of it is released with a soft, tiny exhale against Steve’s mouth. Already are her arms shifting to wrap around him, the embrace one she desperately wants to hold onto. ❝ Steve. ❞ It’s said against his mouth, for she’s only pulled her face back just enough to take a breath. ❝ I’ve missed you, too. ❞ 

There’s moisture in her eyes, Nancy’s glassy blue gaze focused entirely on the man in front of her. They’d needed to break it off back then — for they both had learning to do, growing to do; but now?

She can’t think of anywhere else she’d rather be.  It terrifies her more than any monster ever could.

❝ You know, I kind of thought you’d call me out on that, what with me jumping in the lake after you. ❞ It’s said with a breathless little laugh, her mouth curled upwards with endless affection. Of course they both know she’d have jumped in for anyone — but Steve is one of the people who knows her best in this world; has known who she was before all of this tragedy, and how these disasters have made her slightly reckless. 

Especially when it comes to those she loves.

❝ I’m so scared, ❞ she admits, and by god is it difficult to say. Her chest burns with the weight of the world, and only as Nancy’s forehead touches Steve’s again does it feel slightly eased. ❝ I’m so scared of not being able to keep everyone safe, and I just — I just, god, you need to be okay. ❞

With a press of her mouth to his, she’s finally kissing him again — and it’s Nancy who's initiated this time, some of her fingers curled delicately into the other’s hair. ❝ Tell me you’ll be safe. Promise me, Steve. No matter what, I need you to be okay. ❞

W1 design is done finally!!

W1 is both of the V models having combined themselves into one machine! Here are some notes on it! There's a lot to this fucker I think, but I'll do my best to cover what's most important.

Design notes:

More fragile areas are usually using V2's standard tougher plating. Main examples are the base of it's limbs, as the less of it's arm it potentially loses the better, it's head (which has 2 brains inside!), kneecaps and it's shooter arms, which are less powerful but made to handle guns and weaponry with more finesse.

Note! The knuckleblaster largely is off-colored, because it is a creation of V2's before their merge (she was not made with it). She made it before they combined. Has modified only it's hand after their merge (blue).

Big surface areas or places where blood often ends up use V1's plating. So like it's chest, forearms, punching fists and so on!

Their eye looks like that, because it's cool. and. 2 brains.

Their wings are a combination, because of limited resources. If it could use all of V2's it would as they are better protected.

Character/lore notes:

The V's do NOT fight for the body. Actually any disagreement on actions it must perform are VERY dangerous and scary they prioritize reaching a solution as FAST as possible.

Not functioning correctly can mean death. That being said differing opinions specifically are okay as long as they reach the same final conclusion on what to do. Nobody is panicking if they disagree on what their fave color is.

The two brains send requests incredibly fast between each other to operate the body. Both have full control over the body and must operate it together. This is a VERY processing heavy task and an inefficient one so it requires a lot of blood. It is a VERY hungry machine.

W1 combines before the events of the game! W1 would go through the events of the game in place of just V1.
