Hi Pile 2 babies! A good thing coming your way is companionship. I’m intuitively seeing the 5 of pentacles in my minds eye, so you guys have been on your own for a while. Lonely. For some, destitute, or just not having much; but for most you’ve just been all alone (or both) . You may feel that you never have anyone by your side, no one to talk to, or cuddle with or no one you can call home. For this pile, home isn’t a place for you but it’s in other people. For others these people were simply users. When this person comes in, for others you know them already and you guys are getting ready to cross over from acquaintance to a really sweet emotionally intimate bond; don’t look back. It’s okay to abandon those back, who abandoned you. They found whatever they thought was better, or was more beneficial, or whatever they did, they did it and left. Leave them back. Completely ignore them when they try to reach out to you when they see you’re happy. For some in this group you were ignored, and discarded when you were in need of support the most. Do it back to them. Not with malicious intent, but with the inner knowing that you’re allowed to completely walk away, ignore anything you don’t want to entertain, and be happy. They did that to you, and you doing it to them to be happy isn’t wrong. They manipulated you into thinking leaving them is wrong even though they know they do it to you, this tactic was just to ensure they never lose control of your availability to them whenever they need it. They want to be able to continue to pick you up and put you back down whenever they need to, while they do whatever they want and you be lonely, waiting on them hand and foot. A lot of people in this pile were guilt tripped, or forced into being the one who always has to be there for people that aren’t there for them. They can ignore you and do whatever they want, but the moment you’re happy and they see that you won’t be available, or you’re letting them go they come running back and shaming you for your lack of availability, or to disarm you and act like they’ve changed so they have control over you again, so they can have that availability from you again; this pile could be really sweet. These people are users, abusers, narcs, and energy vampires. Abandon these people, ghost them without a word or trace. You’re okay, and it is okay and safe for you to do that and go be happy with what you’ve found, or whatever this partnership is that is coming to you.

I’m picking up on the song Matilda by Harry Styles, so for a small few of you; this is a situation where you are about to find your person (in a romantic sense) or you already have and this person makes you happy and is giving you the strength to leave your toxic family behind. You may move in with this person, move abroad with this person. You may be connected to pile 1. But, I’m getting the nudge to tell you that whatever you are deciding to do with this person is the right decision. This is the person for you. You’re doing the right thing, and you’ll be so happy with your decision, and this person. I’m hearing a very specific message that this person makes life worth living. Some of you could have been very sad, and even depressed with no will to live because of what you’ve been through, and because of your toxic family until this person came along. You’ve found your person, your one, your companion. It is safe to leave behind whatever you need to in order to put your happiness first. I also picked up on “block your mother” so some of you want to go no contact with your mom, or mother figure for some this could be a grandma or aunt who raised you or your actually mom, a big sister who raised you that you have a very large age gap with, so for example you’re in your 20s and your big sister is in her 40s; it’s that type of age gap. Or a step parent. You’ve been wanting to go no contact with this parental figure; do it. For a huge portion of you in this pile, you will cut contact with your family and never speak to them again for as long as you/they live; this isn’t temporary and it is the right thing to do. If you haven’t done this, spirit is saying you need to. You have to. For some, you could be receiving a check in the mail that you’ve been waiting for, getting approved for some sort of financial help. Some of you are getting approved for food stamps, or section 8 housing, a loan. Something to do with credit is significant. Some of you could be heading into the field of health, health and human service and social work or counseling. Some of you could figuring out you passed an exam you’ve been hoping you would pass. That’s significant for some of you. Some of you, your favorite color is pink, red, green, blue, purple or brown. Some of you wear a lot of brown, love nude nails/french tips, pink nails, white nails, or have just dyed your hair brown. Some of you love strawberries and could be a ginger. Some of you have subliminal, or stim board YouTube channels or love them. Somebody in this pile has a pastel pink strawberry blanket, or blanket hoodie/onesie with strawberries on them that they got from shein or Amazon. Someone here loves to bake. Someone loves Sanrio and Korean food/Japanese culture/kawaii things and plushies. Someone here does the blind blush look and always wears berry red and pink lipgloss and lipstick and strawberry scented things, or fruity things or sweet things. Idk why I’m channeling that, that’s significant, maybe just to let you know this is your pile. Also another good thing that could be coming your way is if any of you have a home based baking business, where you bake things, make edibles, sell w33d, you’re about to see an increase in sales, or you’re about to start this and it’ll be successful and you’ll have cool, chill, kind, playful clients who come to you regularly and refers people to you because I’m hearing people say “the girl I get edibles from” (could be any gender, that’s just what I picked up on). Some of you could be receiving help with a light bill or cable bill this month.

Some of you who work in an industry where you can get tips, you may receive a huge tip soon that will cover something you need ($100-$150, for some $200-$300) . If you freelance you could get a really high paying client this month, for some in a week from when you see this. For others of you some of you are wanting to become sugar babies and you’ll find a good match for you soon. For some, you guys are already a sugar baby and they are going to cover a huge expense for you soon, that you’ve been asking about or just out of surprise. Some may be waiting on a huge check from a government entity and will receive it, or this will come by as a surprise. Someone here is receiving restitution. Maybe you’ve been a victim of fraud or theft.

Some of you are single parents and are getting news that you’ve been approved for WIC, daycare vouchers, food stamps, welfare housing, and/or temporary cash assistance. Some of you are applying to live in a RV home or mobile home and will be getting news that you’ve gotten approved. Some of you will be getting news that you’ve passed a credit/background check. Some of you will hear you passed a drug test for a job. Some of you are hearing back that you passed a security clearance test for a job. Some of you are started jobs as security officers, or will be hearing back from a security officer job; or should apply to one of you’ve been thinking about it.

Some of you have been doing budgeting methods, cash stuffing and have been working your ASS off to reach a savings goal or to pay off debt, good things coming your way is that you may receive a large (realistically) amount that will boost your savings up. Some of you will be reaching your savings goal. Some of you may be approved for a mortgage. Some of you are financing your elders home that was left to you when they passed. Some of you are receiving a trust fund that your parent or whomever left for you, others have had that hidden from you, you’ll be receiving that soon or already have. Something may come in the mail for you that’s money related and it may come as a complete shock. Or have a check that goes through, and the company confirms you’re able to actually receive the money you’re inquiring about. Some of you are getting great news in terms of housing. Some of you will be making a purchase of a vehicle to do van life after saving, you’re about to find the perfect van. For others you guys are finding the perfect car within your budget. Hi my pile 4 babies! A good thing coming your way is you may be finally receiving a new beginning you’ve been wanting to receive. Some of you specifically have been wanting to move out of a physical place and live a quiet life away from something in peace you’ll be able to do that. Some of you have been wanting to do this emotionally, where you’re finally over something and you’ll be waking up one day and just not giving a fuck.

For some, you’ve been really wanting solitude. This pile has been wanting a new start but for some reason something else had to be prioritized, or was in the way; that’s being removed and taken care of.

For others, you guys had to heal something emotionally/and mentally before having this new beginning. What I’m picking up is a good thing that is coming your way is, feeling like your self again. Your brain is literally feeling lighter, as it may have been feeling heavy and foggy, and filled with depression for so long. You have healed, and came to new conclusions, let go of outdated beliefs towards yourself and your past, and have rejuvenated yourself for a long time, in solitude and you’re coming out of that feeling like yourself. Your intrusive thoughts are being healed at this time. You’re moving forward out of a rut, embracing new experiences and taking action on new ideas with gentle, quiet confidence. For some, you might have completely healed your depression and anxiety, or have been actively taking meds and now have recalibrated yourself to sound mind, and clear thinking. If anyone wants a super in-depth view of asexuality (or, at least a version of it, as it is a spectrum), then I highly recommend this fic. It was written before the show, so its based on the pilot's iterations of the characters, but their Alastor voice in general is so fucking good. 10/10.

The Real Life Biology of the Three Body Problem Series

In the first book of Liu Ci Xin's Three Body Problem series, we are introduced to our main antagonists, the Trisolarans. Whilst we never get to see them directly, we are shown some of their biology via the game that our protagonist plays.

ID: A grand domed palace in a chinese style sits in the background of the image. The foreground has hundreds of ancient Chinese soldiers holding white placards on sticks. Two people dressed in Chinese armour can be seen riding horses towards the palace.

In the game it is revealed that Trisolaris, the planet in the Alpha Centauri system on which the aliens reside, revolves around not one, but three suns. As such, the system is subject to the classic physics conundrum of the three body problem (after which the first book in the series is named), which states that for most initial conditions the trajectories of three celestial bodies is chaotic and difficult to predict.

This means that Trisolaris experiences very extreme, unpredictable conditions, divided into "stable eras" and "chaotic eras". Stable eras come about when Trisolaris settles into orbit around one of its three suns, bringing relative prosperity to the planet. However, chaotic eras result in disasters, such as extreme droughts, seemingly endless nights, and even changes in gravity. The first novel partially revolves around the Trisolarans attempting to see if humans could collectively solve the three body problem and bring some level of predictability to their planet.

During the course of the game, it is revealed to the protagonist (and us, the readers), that in order to cope with the devastation and unpredictability of chaotic eras, the Trisolarans can dehydrate themselves and enter a spore-like state, hibernating until the next stable era comes. This allows them to bypass some of the extreme conditions and ensures the survival of the species as a whole.

Believe it or not, we have our very own Trisolarans here on Earth. In fact, there's loads of examples, from bacteria to triops, to my favourite of the bunch, Bdelloid Rotifers.

These microscopic animals look freaky, because they are. If you've got any media literacy you've probably picked up by now that I am segueing here because they are somewhat similar to the aliens in the Three Body Problem, except this time they are very much real. Like the Trisolarans, Bdelloids live in very ephemeral environments: their usual haunts are the very thin film of water on moss and lichen. As you can imagine, these do not last all that long, and thus when they dry up, so do the Bdelloid Rotifers; in biology, we call this process anhydrobiosis.

"Ok, that's all well and good Ocean Sunfish Hater, but why do you like these guys more than the other anhydrobiotic creatures that roam our good, green Earth?" I hear you ask.

So you know how things that reproduce asexually don't have all that much genetic variation, and how sexual reproduction gives you an edge over asexual populations since you can keep that genetic variation fun and funky fresh, and how that has been the cornerstone for eukaryotic reproduction? Well. Well. Just like me, Bdelloid Rotifers have been completely celibate for 35-40 million years, with some people even bringing that number up to 100 million years, when they diverged from their sister clade. So how do these turbo-virgins not go extinct, racking up tonnes of deleterious mutations, not having any advantageous innovations, and eventually exploding into a genetic soup?

The secret lies in their ability to dehydrate. Not only is it a really handy dandy way to stay alive when your only source of water is gone, it literally rips apart their cells and genes! And why! Why the fuck does that help? It sounds like the opposite of helping!

Having this mild-to-moderate level of cell membrane and chromosomal damage enables the Bdelloids to take up genetic material from their environment, mostly via their digestive systems, where their last meals are slowly being broken down to reveal that juicy DNA inside. When the water returns and the Bdelloids rehydrate, this genetic material gets incorporated into their chromosomes as their cells get back to work repairing themselves. And they sure ain't picky. In fact, it has been shown that in some species of Bdelloids, up to 8% of their genetic material has non-animal origins. How cool is that?

This is probably what has allowed them to continue adapting and evolving, even when they have been reproducing asexually for so long. This strategy has been so successful that the Bdelloids have managed to diversify into over 450 species. Pretty impressive for a class of animals that haven't had sex in over 40 million years.

Perhaps the Trisolarans might have a similar mechanism as part of their biology (even if they do reproduce sexually as stated in the book). Maybe they've managed to survive for this long because they have been able to absorb useful genes from their home planet, just like Bdelloids have been doing here on Earth. I don't know if these are what Liu Ci Xin had in mind when he wrote the Three Body Problem, but they sure were what I was thinking of when I read the book.

Hello and welcome to episode 1 of my “Gaydar” series, where I tell people what sexuality I think characters from media are. I am bisexual so I think I’m qualified to say my opinion lol. First up is all the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit characters. I’m starting with the Hobbit because I just rewatched all three movies recently.

Bilbo: There is no way on this green and burning earth or in my mind that Bilbo gives off anything other than awkward, introverted, and chaotic trans gay man energy. I find it increasingly hilarious that despite Martin Freeman’s stance on things like this, that the two most popular characters that he’s played have the highest rate of being in the most gay ass ships known to the world of men. His likeness is carved into the most heartbreaking and also hottest gay ships ever known and he has to live with that.

Thorin: Bisexual disaster man who has absolutely no idea how to show that his love language is both physical touch and words of affirmation, so he gives people he loves what someone hilariously called “love bonks.” Seriously, he had this entire field, a vast open plane in front of the mountain to walk through and he still went right for Bilbo to bump his shoulder against his. Use your goddamn words to tell Bilbo you love him, you silly short little bisaster.

Gandalf: As one of the Maiar (basically an all powerful angel in Tolkien universe) I was originally going to say Gandalf is Pansexual, but upon further examination of his character, Gandalf is 100% demisexual and demiromantic. He’s literally thousands of years old and I feel like he absolutely would not find anyone attractive or see any romantic potential in them if they didn’t share the same lifespan as him (looking at you Lady Galadriel.) He’s a mess but we love him.

Balin: He’s that one old, gay uncle in your family that you didn’t know was gay until you’re older and then realize that’s why he never got married. He literally gives Globber the Belch from How to Train Your Dragon: “this is why I never married, that and… one other reason.” Bombastic side eye on you, my guy.

Dwalin: My husband. My man. My perfect fucking tank of a man. I was originally going to say that he’s very straight coded, but I could definitely see him being bi leaning more towards femme presenting people. I also ship him with my own original character, but that’s an entirely different discussion.

Oin and Glóin: They are also straight coded, but Oin I could see being similar to Dwalin, Bi just leaning more towards femmes. Glóin gives big “I don’t understand what the LGTBLMNOP stuff is but good for you” dad energy.

Ori and Nori: Definitely also bi, but leaning more towards masc presenting people. Ori just gives sweet little gay woodshop nerd and there’s something about how Nori styles his hair that makes him seem fairly gay.

Dori: 100% gay. There’s not much explanation for this one, it’s just the vibe I get off him. He definitely spills some chamomile tea with Balin on those late nights in Erebor.

Bombur: Eh, he’s straight. Man is married and canonically has 6 kids. But he’s super chill with everyone because he’s the absolute goat of acceptance.

Fili and Kili: Fili is a proud and out pansexual man who is not picky at all. People are hot, he don’t care. Kili is bi but straight leaning, just for the “that’s not an elf maid” joke.

Bofur: Absolute legendary pansexual icon. Bofur can have anyone or everyone he wants because he’s just such a sweet little dork who gives no fucks about who or what you identify as. If he thinks they’re attractive, they’re attractive, end of story.

Bifur: Asexual. But he likes to watch. Next question.

Thranduil: Bisexual pillow princess. No more notes.

Bard: Bisexual. It gets lonely in that tiny lake town.

Tauriel: Another straight character, but I mean it in the most loving way possible. She loves short kings, what else can I say?

Now onto the LOTR cast-

Frodo: You poor sweet gay boy, let me give you a hug. Seriously, this boy deserves all the love and care in the world, which his best friend would absolutely give him.

Sam: Bisexual king. I can’t Not see Frodo and Sam being soulmates in every lifetime and Sam loving both Frodo and Rosie equally with his fucking Litter of 13 children. Rosie definitely gives the vibe that she wouldn’t mind watching her husband with his boyfriend.

Merry and Pippin: They’re both bi, but Pippin gives vague trans or gender-fluid vibes, I can’t tell which though.

Legolas: Bi, gender-fluid and 100% a bottom. Elves are essentially beings of light that choose physical forms suiting their own wants, and if that’s not gender-fluid coded, I don’t know wtf is.

Ghimli: Also bi, but aggressively so. He thought Galadriel was so fucking pretty and then he turned around to insult his twink boyfriend every chance he got. It’s his love language and Legolas seems to be into that.

Boromir: Straight but literally the most chill and accepting ally you’ve ever seen. Protective dad energy.

Faramir: Totally bi. When he saw his future wife’s crush, he absolutely said “Yeah, I get it.” Probably more fuel for his dad to hate him tho. “Miss me with that gay shit,” Denethor, probably.

Arwen: My queen, my gay awakening, and another straight character, which isn’t bad necessarily, but she can definitely peg her husband whenever she wants.

Aragorn: Sorry Bofur, but Aragorn gets the number one spot for most fruity character in this series. The man, the myth, the legend. Aragorn is a pansexual, polyamorous mess and his vibe is literally one of my favorite jokes.

“Hello, my name is Arwen. This is my husband, Aragorn. This is Aragorn’s boyfriend, Legolas. And this is Legolas’s husband, Ghimli.”

Absolute icon.

Eowyn: Also straight, but upon meeting Aragorn’s girlfriend turned wife, she would absolutely cave and say “Oh. I get it now.”

She definitely wouldn’t say no if Arwen offered a four way with her and Faramir. She would only accept if Faramir did. Which he would.

And before anyone asks about the villains, they are all straight (derogatory) and that’s my stance on it.

Okay, if you were asked who are in Merlin BBC & Voltron that you can see based on canon that are gay/bi/pan/demi, which characters are they? Why?

What a fun ask I'm totally not doing to procastinate on cooking... XD

BBC Merlin

Arthur Pendragon is, in my head, demiromantic and bisexual... It sort of depends on the circumstances/episode. Arthur needs a very long time to really feel connections with people and only starts to consider love after he really gets to know them, hence his constant search for true love in the show. With Merlin I'm not entirely sure if he was attracted to him instantly, strangely enough feeling a connection from the moment they met, or if it takes him till the end of the series when Merlin confesses his magic and finally shows his true self to realise the depth of his feelings.

Merlin is, well... Bi Bi Bi. A disaster bi in fact. With a preference for sweaty men in metal boxes, he's not very peculiar. However, Merlin is a one person hyperfixation kind of guy. Most people are convinced that Merlin's gay.

Gwen: I feel like most people in BBC Merlin are bi and Gwen is no exception. Like Merlin, she prefers the hero type in metal uniforms. But she also had a thing for Morgana in the beginning.

Morgana: lesbian. I have never seen a woman so disinterested in men, I'm not surprised that they casted Katie McGrath in supergirl as supergirls love interest. I might settle for homoromantic and asexual. But definitly in love with Gwen in the very beginning.

Sir Leon, my beloved, the immortal, the one and only, the eternal suffering aro/ace. I don't have to explain this one. The only counter moment is the Lamia episode where Leon suddenly develops interest in women out of nowhere. My personal take is that anyone could be fallen under a Lamia's spell, this one just had a taste for men (and male presenting).

Sir Elian: once upon a time I clocked them as nonbinary and sadly that's as far as I thought into this character. Pretty sure he's aromantic. He/they pronouns. I dunno, I don't think Elian would conform to anything if given a choice. Aromantic too, I think. Like Leon, there is no interest there, but he does play around with Percival and Gwaine quite often, so I'd take that as allosexual.

I am excluding Gwaine because I think canon Gwaine is written as a straight oblivious fuckboy. Albeit a kind one XD fanon Gwaine is often poly/ pan... Or into apples. Lmao XD and I'm not sure about Percival because the man has a dead wife and kids.

I see a lot of takes about Gale being like the ideal man, and unfortunately a lot of them fall into like... perfectionism. And Gale, as a person, is not perfect. Even as a pixel husband, he's not perfect. And there's nothing wrong with wanting that; he's not real. sorry sorry I know I know I'm sorry BUT I think for me, as an adult in my thirties, the idea of him being perfect doesn't work because... wait for it...

As a human person, I'm a fucking disaster. I have issues with touch. I'm asexual. I am weird about prolonged time spent with someone. I am aggressively independant to the point I have to make my partner go in the other room sometimes. I know that I would get on Gale's nerves, and he would get on mine, and it's important to know that. Because that's normal. THAT IS WHAT MOST RELATIONSHIpS ARE LIKE.

There's something nice about a flawed character. There's something nice about the realism of that fact that yeah, you'd have arguments, sometimes one of you would be wrong and one would be right, you'd grate on each other, it wouldn't always be sunshine and rainbows. But the best Gale take I've seen, and it's so true, is that the best thing about Gale is that he is willing to learn. He would understand needing space and not take it personally, he would understand getting frustrated at mess or at yourself, and he would love you regardless of it.

idk this got a bit rambly but my point I guess is, don't fall into the perfect trap, and don't fall into the idea that being 'perfect' is actually what you want.

In my head Yuu would be eager regardless of anatomy because generally they love their partner and that's that

This kinda got away from me djsndndnd so this is more of a rant on worldbuilding headcanons more than anything else.

As a lover of speculative biology and monster fucking my time has come. Fjdjd I adore biological and/or cultural differences between people and how they learn about these differences and learn about the other so they can be inclusive of their partner. I'm not gonna talk about each character but I can talk about some headcanons I have for each... idk if species is the right word or subspecies. It seems like all can mate and have children regardless of species/subspecies, but idk if that's biology or magic or both like... I like to think biology wise they're all very similar with the different species coming from magical and evolutionary intermingling. Anyway, to some headcanons: Yuu would have so much to learn about the biological and cultural differences.

Mer Headcanons

Biologically the differences are so obvious. There's a wide variety of mers that include invertebrates which just... has to have magical origins. I could go on about marine life and how there's so many different animals that seem to be all put together under mer. Some are hermaphroditic like sea slugs, and you've got ones that change their sex over their life like clown fish. Their concept of sex and gender must be so beyond what we got here.

The environmental differences are also so major. Breathing air vs breathing water. And don't get me started on how having a verbal language under the sea seems so weird and magic is the obvious go to to explain it away but my brain just goes "sign based languages make more sense with the humanlike upper anatomy and they probably gained a verbal language from interacting with land dwelling societies." But I'm not an expert on lore djdndn.

I do know culturally there's iffiness when it comes to mer people and land dwellers. The environment is so different so infrastructure, food, history, societal ideals an expectations has to be so different. It also seems mer people going onto land is more common than the reverse. I may be wrong cause the vignettes I read are for the cards I use and I have like 1 Jade card I've maxed out.

Being in a relationship with any of the mers would just have so many biological and cultural differences and Yuu has no baseline for anything and neither do the mers cause Yuu's from a completely different world. Communication is a must which is probably gonna be difficult cause the mer mafia just... the tweels would lie because funny and Azul is willing to educate about mer stuff in general but not about himself or his family really. Dating/courtship differences just... romantic gestures from both parties would be a disaster unless people are like "I am doing this because it is a romantic gesture where I am from." Oh and just idk is monogamy or polyamory if there's a social standard or not. Well with Disney monogamy but this is my writing I get to choose. I like to think in twst monogamy and polyamory are pretty chill no matter where you are. I think for mer people polyamory is probably common but there's so many different subspecies its hard to claim a majority. Hell, asexual reproduction is probably a thing too.

Either way, it's a must to go swimming from time to time with them in their mer form and just hanging out. Ooo the cuddles. I can see all three of the mer mafia ok with staying on land but if Yuu is willing to live in the ocean with them I think they'd be happy. They'd at least have Yuu visit their family which would be cute and embarrassing. So many eel and octo hugs shsbsbs.

Anyway, I see the most struggle with these differences in a relationship would be with the mers, but plenty of communication and a willingness to learn will be very rewarding and help make a healthy relationship.

Fae Headcanons

I like to think just about all fae, at least from Briar Valley, have a what we'd call a monstrous form (cause I got a thing for monsters). I mean, big buff lady with sharp teeth and covered in scales? I get it. Sebek's dad steps out of line, and I'm taking his place.

Anyway, the biggest difference biologically is the lifespan and I see that being the biggest difficulty. That's a lot to go over in a relationship and is a very dark and very real thing that would need to be discussed. I can see relationships ending specifically because of the difference in lifespan and I can't blame them. It's a lot. Other than that there is a physical biological differences that seem more minor in their more humanlike form. But their monster form.... I mean the cuddles gotta be awesome.

There are major cultural differences too. I assume most fae don't really use technology because magic is so intrinsic in their society and they all love long lives. There is no real need to advance when things work well and new generations take so long to develop and replace the previous ones. Another thing is with Yuu specifically having no magic. In a society where magic is everywhere and is needed to do so many things like at least at NRC there seems to be alternatives by using technology here and there but Yuu is so dependent on others and this would be exasperated in Briar Valley. I can see Malleus and/or Lilia be willing to get some technology for Yuu if they decide to live in Briar Valley. I like the idea of simply introducing radio to the Valley and Yuu just running a radio station idk just a thought I like.

Anyway, there are other cultural differences like I headcanon that dating isn't really a thing for most fae and instead they go the courtship route with so many rules and procedures that Yuu knows nothing about. Someone like Lilia would understand that Yuu has no idea and would try the dating route while Silver, Sebek, and Malleus would just do things and either have Yuu accidentally accept or reject them without knowing. At least with Silver, Lilia would give fatherly advice though how useful it is is up for debate. Again, a lot of communication would be needed between parties but everyone in Diasomnia would be willing to talk about these differences and work with you to have a healthy relationship.

The biggest struggle I think would be the difference in lifespan. Silver is a human so the lifespan thing wouldn't apply to him but the cultural differences would definitely be a thing.

Beastmen Headcanons

Out of the different species, beastmen are the most similar to humans. Theres no other form (except for Jack) but there are still considerable biological differences with ears, tails, and the better senses. I can't see any real problems with biological differences arising in a human and beastmen relationship. I mean Leona, Ruggie, and Jack would probably be chill with Yuu petting them and thats really the only thing I can see ever being an issue (unwanted touching I mean).

I do like to think marking is a beastmen thing but idk if they'd explain it to you. Jack would definitely explain it but only after he realizes you don't know that's what he's doing. Ruggie and Leona either wouldn't tell you or take forever before they explain it cause they like being able to mark you freely. Hell if Yuu's with Leona or Ruggue, Jack would be the one to tell them what marking is. And Yuu marking them in return would also make them very happy.

For cultural differences there are some like... for Jack I see things being more gender neutral and monogamy is very common while Leona and Ruggie got more of a matriarchy going on and I can see polyamory being common for the hyena beastmen. Ruggie and Leona would date Yuu no matter their gender identity but they will treat Yuu a bit different socially because of how their culture is.

I see dating being more common than courtship except for Leona but that's royalty related. And again, with communication the differences will be easy to handle and mean a healthy relationship.

I can also see heats and ruts being a thing but I'll save that for a more nfsw post specifically on that in the future or something.

Like I never doubted aces could have sex - sex-repulsed aces excluded from that of course because why would you ask someone to do something that disgusts and upsets them- but if your writings it seems like these characters WANT sex with reader. Which is fine! I just am clearly not understanding since I'm a bi disaster and everyone's hot. I would just love to be pointed in the right direction so I can understand aaa ❤️❤️❤️

23. ship you've unwillingly come around to

I actually had to give this some thought because I am part of ship and let ship, and one of my favorite parts of She Ra is how easily and compellingly you can multiship in it. As long as you ignore the fandom that is.

The extremely limited things I've come around on were primarily willingly because I wanted to understand why people liked it.

But, uh..........well, the one and only one I got dragged around into is........................

There's no easy way to say this, but it's Glimmer and Catra.

Which is fucking WILD considering I participated in the first Glitra week in 2019. BUT! Keep in mind that Season 2 didn't come out until April 2019 and between S1 and S2 I actively avoided Glimmer as my least favorite character due mostly to fandom assassination. But yeah I did not like her so I did not get all the C/A/G fics that were out there. There were no fics or art I saw before S2 dropped that were glitra only, so it was introduction via an OT3. I kept hearing good things about Rage Break by Emberswitch (https://archiveofourown.org/works/17227490) and eventually caved to read it, and that was what got me turned towards the idea of Glimmer and Catra as a ship. I hadn't intended to and I hadn't been actively looking to change that opinion, but the hype on the fic eventually did make me go, "Well...what if there is something there though? Maybe I'll take a little peak. For science."

And then somehow I've posted 19 glitra fics and my longest fic ever is HtQY. :|

2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom

A compelling argument? Meeeeeeehhhhhh-

But, I do actually headcanon Catra as demiromantic and somewhere on the asexual sliding scale so when I think of canon Catra I think of someone who flirts because she's learned how to do so as a manipulation tactic (both for protection and power), so she comes off as a lot more sexually motivated than she really is. So I don't think my fave would top or bottom because I don't think she's into sex at all. If she has it, she does it more to please her partner so it's a performative act that can be enjoyable but not something she personally is into. If she gets turned on she'd rather rub one out on her own thanks.

Like I said, compelling? Probably not. Is someone still going to be annoyed or angry that I personally headcanon Catra in the show as being aroace but still a lesbian with a powerful and loving relationship? Yeah. People still fucking hate asexuals and aromantics, and I'm sure someone thinks I'm a lesbophobe for it lol.

So I think I'm still choosing violence here.

Especially because the complimentary side to this is canon Adora is not a top. She might enjoy pleasing her partners but you really think the person who has taken multiple gold medals in overthinking something so hard that you turn it into a disaster and your own worst nightmare wants to take charge during something as strange, vulnerable, gross, amazing, and complex as sex????

Catradora is canon gets overhyped. Like, sorry folks, I love them and was glad to see them be recognized in canon very explicitly at the end and have seen them be obviously a thing but through more subtext and interpretation before then. But catradora itself is overhyped.

Like, I can't remember who it is (you? Tispy? someone else??????) who straight up didn't watch the show for a long time because catradora focus was so intense that it was off putting.

If part of the canon is so intensely hyped or pushed that it's off putting....like.....c'mon
