SOBBING. SOBBING. SOBBING. WATCHED IT YESTERDAY AND I WAS CRYING THE WHOLE MOVIE BECAUSE THEY USED IT. THEY USED LIVE AND LEARN. AND NOT JUST ONCE. A MOTIF. THEY GAVE SHADOW A LIVE AND LEARN MOTIF. I AM EXTREMELY INDESCRIBABLY HAPPY. LET'S FUCKING GO
PLUS: EGGMAN'S MOTIF!!! IT WAS HERE!! THEY USED IT!! AND IT WAS ORCHESTRAL. BEAUTIFUL.
SONIC'S ESCAPE FROM THE CITY PLAYED, TOO, BUT NOT AS CONSISTENTLY. BUT ALSO, WHOEVER WROTE IN HAVING SONIC SAY "FOLLOW ME" UH HUH. I SAW YOU. YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE AND I LOVED IT
I WANT THE DONUT LORD SWEATER. THAT NEEDS TO BE MERCH. I DONT CARE HOW MUCH IT IS. IF SOMEONE MAKES IT DM ME I WANT ONE THANK YOU
SPEAKING OF DONUT LORD. I KNEW THEY WOULDN'T KILL HIM OUTRIGHT BUT OH MY GOD WAS I CONFLICTED. BECAUSE ON ONE HAND, OH MY GOD. SHADOW JUST BROKE LIKE ALL OF TOM'S RIBS. NO PLEASE NO. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND... OH MY GOD. YES. THIS WILL BE PERFECT FOR SONIC AND SHADOW'S PARALLEL.
AGAIN, SPEAKING OF: PARALLELS, SPECIFICALLY THE TIME HOPS IN SHADOW'S MEMORIES OF MARIA. BRUTAL. CRIED THE WHOLE TIME. THAT RECORD PLAYER ONE REALLY GOT ME. GOD DAMN. PLUS, THE PARALLELS FROM TOM'S HEART TALK THE ENTIRE MOVIE AND ESPECIALLY THE MOON SCENE. CRYING. I KNEW IT THE WHOLE TIME BUT STILL. CRYING.
ALSO, OPEN YOUR HEART. SPEAK WITH YOUR HEART. WE'RE WINNING

CHAO GARDEN! AGENT STONE BEING A BADASS CONSISTENTLY. I LOVED AGENT STONE THIS WHOLE MOVIE. HE REALLY GOT A LOT OF DEVELOPMENT. LOVE HIM. ALSO A LITTLE SAD SONIC DIDN'T END UP WEARING A SPEED OR DARK CHAO MASK TO LOOK LIKE HIMSELF OR SHADOW, MISSED POTENTIAL :( STILL FUNNY
WALTERS' DEATH WAS UNEXPECTED TO ME NGL, JUST BECAUSE IT WAS SO ABRUPT. LIKE... OKAY. I GUESS. COOL. MAN'S DEAD.
THE MARIA BEING PULLED BY SHADOW ON SKATES. EVERYTHING MARIA. EVEN WITHOUT THE ILLNESS, THAT WAS THE PERFECT MARIA AND SHADOW DUO. YES
TBH, I LIKED THE GERALD AND IVO DUO. IT WAS SILLY. THEY WERE THE COMEDY IN AN OTHERWISE VERY HEAVY MOVIE STILL SOMEWHAT AIMED AT KIDS. SOME THINGS HAD ME LAUGHING BECAUSE IT WAS SO WRONG, LIKE THE SPANKING AND HOW GERALD JUST GOT ZAPPED LIKE A FLY IN AN ELECTRIC SWATTER. ALSO, EASY TO EXPLAIN GERALD'S AGE, HE KEPT LICKING SHADOW'S QUILL, WHICH IS LIKELY WHAT KEPT HIM ALIVE SO LONG. SO YEAH. I DIDNT THINK IT WAS BAD, MAYBE A LITTLE WEIRD, BUT THATS THE ROBOTNIK FAMILY'S THING
SHADOW'S "BOO." ENOUGH SAID
DID SHADOW REALLY HAVE TO SLAM SONIC'S FACE INTO THE GLASS LIKE THAT LMAO
ALSO SHADOW KICKED TAILS!!! THE STREAK CONTINUES
IT IS NOT LOST ON ME THAT SONIC'S POV BEGINS AT HIS B-EARTH-DAY PARTY. FUN REFERENCE TO GENERATIONS
LIVE AND LEARN. STILL HAPPY. JUST WANTED TO SAY IT AGAIN. THE WHOLE DOUBLE SUPER SCENE AND THEIR OWN FIGHT AND THE FIGHT AGAINST THE BOTS. EVERYTHING. PERFECTION. SOBBED. THE SUN RISE AND LOVE STILL EXISTING EVEN AFTER THE SOURCE IS GONE LIKE THE LIGHT. STILL SOBBING
THE WAY THEY HAD ROBOTNIK LEFT ON THE STATION LEAVES ME TO BELIEVE THEY LEFT IT OPEN ENDED ON IF HE LIVED SO THAT JIM CARREY HAD THE OPTION TO COME BACK, AND THATS FINE BY ME :)
PISSED ON THE MOON AND THE BROADCAST?? AND IT WAS A BROADCAST FOR STONE SPECIFICALLY??? WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK
SHADOW'S INHIBITORS. YES. HIM FALLING TO EARTH, ALTHOUGH DIFFERENT FROM THE GAME. YES. YES. YES.

2ND POST CREDIT WITH PARALLELS?? WITH SHADOW LANDING ON EARTH IN A FIELD ALL ALONE FOR A SECOND TIME, THIS TIME MAYBE AMNESIAC AND HAVING TO ADJUST TO EARTH AGAIN?? OH MY GOD?? I WAS SO HAPPY THEY DIDN'T END UP JUST KILLING HIM OFF, ALTHOUGH IT WOULDVE BEEN REALLY GOOD. IF HE HAD DIED THOUGH, HE PROBABLY WOULDVE GOTTEN A LAST WORD IN TO MARIA ANYWAY, BUT STILL GLAD HE'S IN IT TO WIN IT
PLUS SHADOW SPIN OFF SERIES!! AND NEXT MOVIE IN 2027. THANK YOU KEANU FOR MAKING OUR FIRST MOVIE DREAMS COME TRUE, THANK YOU SONIC MOVIE TEAM, THANK YOU ALL CAST

Obey Me! Characters react to mc being a dragon
(trying my hand at writing headcanons, let me know what you think! Other brothers + dateables are a work in progress)
__Lucifer__
He's not optimistic. His brothers are hard enough as it is, but adding in a new large creature? It'd be better to just keep you down with Cerberus. Maybe he'd enjoy the new playmate. The annoyance turns to intrigue when he learns you have the mind of any other demon (or person, if you will). And you can speak? Strange. This wont make him like you by any means, of anything he will be very distrusting. As you live there, though, he starts getting used to you. He even enjoys your odd antics, and especially the way you can rally in any ensuing chaos (despite how often you cause it).On one or two rare occasions, he'd absently try to pet you on the head when he was in that 'dead tired from paperwork' state. Depending on your reaction, he might do it more. When/if he does end up falling for you, expect to be near him a lot (obviously). There's not so many head-pats, but he likes to have you sit next to him while he's working or reading, sometimes absently stroking you neck or asking your opinion on whatever he's working with. There'll definitely be some teasing as to how catlike you are at times, but he means it lovingly. *he might put a collar on you if you ask-*He wouldn't ever be the type to outright ask to ride on your back, but I have the feeling he'd make subtle hints to it.'Ah, darn, the ride canceled last second. How can we get there now?' Ykyk. He'll turn you down the first time when you ask if he wants to fly with you, but that's just the pride talking for him. He'd love nothing more. After all, one of the most powerful lords of hell swooping in upon a dragon? You two would be an awe-inspiring duo, that's for sure.
__Mammon__
Ugh, he's gotta watch the new student? Lame! Humans are so- what the fuck is that?He dosen't know how to react at first. This is the thing he's looking after? It'll be awkward for the first few days, but as we know, he falls for MC fast. Awkward silence changes to him griping about how you always have to follow him. After the pact, though, he realizes you're not so bad. You tease him a little bit, sure, but he notices how you praise him, too. Just simple compliments, like how he looks good in his shades, how he's so good at math, how he's super fun to be around. It makes him feel better, y'know? Other demons also seem to be a bit less inclined to make fun of him when you're around, especially when you growl at them for being so openly mean. After a little bit of time, you two are basically glued at the hip. Depending on the kind of MC you are, you two could be the ultimate partners in crime or the closest confidants (or both!). There'll never be a boring moment with you two.It wont take him too long to ask to fly on you (probably be one of the first things he asks you tbh- it's like a joy-ride squared)He'd be respectful but mopey if you say no, but if you say yes? That's a happy demon on your hands right there. Be sure to set some boundaries, though, he might not wanna go by car anymore (like when you give a hognose snake a toad and they refuse to go back to pinkies lmfao). He'll try and get you to learn some aerial maneuvers, maybe how to spin or go upside-down (it's harder than it looks). When you two aren't flying or causing chaos together, you're both just hanging out. When he's relaxed, he likes to trace his hand over your smooth skin/scales/feathers/fur. He can't help it, the texture's just so soothing. Don't point it out, though, he'll go BRIGHT red. He likes it when you two watch movies together, or when you browse Devilgram with him over his shoulder. Feel free to nuzzle him and cuddle up, this man loves it. Sometimes he returns the favor, using you as his own sort of couch while he talks with you, sometimes giving you a peck here and there.
__Leviathan__
Oh this man is hyped from the start. A whole-ass dragon? LIVING with him and his brothers? What could be cooler? He has an internal war between wanting to get a good look at you and being really nervous to get too close. That nervousnes amps up when he realizes you can talk. You might think he's a hallucination at first with how fast he darts out of sight the moment you try and look at him. Fortunately, Mammon's debt to him is what spurs your first interaction. After, he's a little bit more ok with being percieved. He plays it cool at first, not wanting to seem too pushy, but he can't help but barrage you with questions when he gets the chance. It's actually quite a fun time, especially if you love infodumping as much as he (and I) does. You ask your own share of questions as well, about the Devildom, about him, about the games and figures he loves. As you two get more relaxed with one another, you both love to sit and chat about each other's hyperfixations. You can't exactly game with him due to your talons (not comfortably, anyways), but he lets you watch over his shoulder while he games. It makes his victories that much sweeter, and any losses a tad more bearable. Sometimes he lets you go on the mic to startle or taunt the other players, just for fun. It's hard to tell exactly when the relationship begins and the friendship ends, it's a smooth transition that neither of you really notice until you're literally cuddled up together, watching Assasination Classroom on his phone at 2am. It takes a surprising while for him to ask to fly with you. You may have to be the one to bring it up, actually. Nervous the whole time, 100%. He may decline, but upon numerous reassurances he'll agree. I think it's like... that test drive scene from httyd. It's so unfamiliar at first, being high up, with the wind blowing so fiercely. After a while, though, something clicks with him. He'll gain that confidence, guiding you (with your permission) where he wants to go. Something about that wild, windswept sensation of being a mile up in the air melts his nerves. It's just you two and the sky. The others are def gonna be jealous about how well you fly together.
(Feel free to tag with your dragon ocs! Sorry for any spelling errors lmao my eyes tend to skip over words sometimes)

WWHAT WUD THE CREEPS DO 4 HALLOWEEN I MUST KNOW
anon... yes i like this. general disclaimer this is tailored to my au !! stuff under cut
toby likes it, thinks its fun and stuff. he's not the type to dress up beyond like, maybe a jacket and a mask or whatever, but he'll go and buy(steal) stupid ass halloween decorations from spirit or the dollar store. there r several mini skeletons sitting around his cabin. he treats it like elf on the shelf, but. . . skeletons... def will sit around and watch scary movies with a bag of halloween candy . totally carves pumpkins with whoever will do it with him
tim wouldnt really want to do much cuz he's just tired, but he probably would put out a small little pumpkin and bowl of candy outside his door. he's in an apartment so he doesnt really get trick or treaters. will prob buy some candy after halloween so its on sale
brians so annoying omfg(lovingly) he'd buy a fake arm, blood, and wig and stick it in his trunk so it looks like an arm is sticking out. yall know what im talking about. him and tim share an apartment so he'd prob try to actually put something simple around it, like some plastic pumpkins, but nothing really big. he is also a grown man with no kids, so he doesnt find himself going all out for these things
natalie. ok i recently made it where she's either already a tattoo artist, or learning to be a tattoo artist or whatever, but i could see her and some coworkers setting up the shop all halloweeny. she's so fucking tall that they'd just call her over for all the spider web stuff. she thinks its fun and she likes halloween a lot so it's cool. she'd get a huge kick out of doing halloween tattoos during october too. goes and hangs out with toby/nina for it
nina goes to parties . she HAS to get a whole new costume for every party. its super wasteful but she doesnt care all that matters is shes sexy. every year without fail she is a sexy gothic vampire for one of the parties. she works at hot topic, BUT she'd absofuckinglutely get a second job at spirit halloween for october. she's a creepy galll... def sets her apartment up super cutely, brings toby and nat over so they can carve pumpkins with her, tries to dress them up, etc. tons of halloween posts on her social medias too LOL shes so cute
jeff would prob also go to more like... weirder ( ?) parties with creeps and scary people roaming around just doing crazy shit. warehouse shit. prob finds someone to bring home and kill. he thinks its fun, its easier to just go about his days looking the way he does, he loves scaring the fucking shit out of people. doesnt decorate or wear costumes though, says its cringe LMFAO. hates how hyped nina is about it
jane and mary would totally decorate, but in a much more.. ? elegant ? way. like those tall skinny candles, swap out their doormat for something halloween themed, really nicely done pumpkins for some reason. jane would want to host a cute little halloween dinner for uni friends. probably just gets simple costumes, like she'd put on a witch hat and black dress and thats all, but its cute. takes sally (and ben, if sally asks him to come) trick or treating.
sally draws tons of drawings, loves disney halloween marathons, paints on pumpkins(doesnt like the smell of gutting them), etc. she'd decorate with jane cuz she lives w her. she loves it so much but she still gets scared of the animatronic things at stores and stuff LOL. begs ben to trick or treat w her. really embarrassing for ben
ben wouldnt do much besides like. he'd get worse w his internet trolling (scaring the fucking shit out of teens on the internet), start doing more actual hauntings bc nobody will believe his victims during october which means slender wont find out he's doing it. he would not want to go trick or treating..but he'd go with sally with a pillow case and he'd try to awkwardly stand further back but the ppl at the door would always b like 'aw dont be shy come here!' LOL
jack doesnt celebrate it, his family didnt really celebrate it much when he was human so he doesnt do it now. he does get kinda sad during holiday season though, cuz of obvious reasons, but halloween isnt the strongest Pain for him
liu is so fucking miserable theres no way. jk he'd set out like, some pumpkins and maybe get one of those lights that project ghosts onto his garage, but he wouldnt want to go all out or do anything to the inside of his house. jeff really liked halloween when he was younger so its kinda like ouch but he's getting overit. i guess. . .
kate doesnt..celebrate anything........ but when she does occasionally visit the cabin, maybe for food or a shower, and she sees toby decorated, she'd be happy to see it. she's kinda unsettling to be around, but she'd sit down and watch a movie with him in silence. then bring a massive bag of candy to the mine w her w/o telling toby. he just had to cope
ann and lulu dont do anything in the hospital. they dont really have any concept of time........... or the resources to decorate... and they dont get any trick or treaters... cuz theyre...stuck in an abandoned hospital in the woods . . . yeah..
ty for ask anoni like this one. very simple but very sweet

sonic 3 spoilers (longer - very long thoughts)
just thoughts about something that i would add to the movie
1) i fully expected sonic to take the photo of shadow and maria and later give it to him, since he destroyed everything else and it would be nice like "hey i held onto this for you, might be important" i think it would be a nice way to connect them in an even stronger way. it felt like the rivals to friends was rushed, though shadow seemed to be depicted as more youthful here, i still feel like he would need something more to get through him (but then he def felt something already when he hit tom so it wasnt like a sudden switch or anything)
2) maybe i wasnt paying full attention but robotniks last words came kinda out of nowhere, i really expected them to show at least a little bit of the times stone cared for him. like have him go through the realization and let him feel it on screen a bit longer. maybe he had a moment of thought but i dont remember that. (also it was good but kinda silly in retrospect he really broadcasted it to the whole world 0 shame 😭 just imagining bot from the first movie seeing his future self say that. hed explode)
i would add like 10-20 mins to the movie for this. just let the characters stop for a moment and feel. but then, its a sonic movie. the audience is 5 year olds. it doesnt matter. but i still felt like a lot has been cut or missing? - then again, i need to rewatch it/watch the original to see the original pacing and wording of things. perhaps some things got lost in translation or whatever. i also couldnt concentrate cause someone kept fucking talking over the movie. but what wasnt shown just wasnt shown. also for shadow idk i thought they would go for some brooding scene in the vibe of spiderverse introductions but it went all action but ig they made up for it later i loved the scenes with maria and the stargazing (back when i was into sonadow stargazing was my fave trope for them. stars in general. so this was beautiful. shadow as a falling/fallen star too and in this case it applied to both him and sonic)
3) more music. again this might be just the case of the dubbed version but i felt a severe lack of music? and to me personally the live and learn part felt extremely weak, the orchestral version or whatever it was is nice but here it wasnt hype enough for me. idk, again, maybe the og will feel different but you know. if more of the scenes were treated music wise like the dance ones id be more hyped, i dont like when they use a song but only like 4 seconds of it and stuff. to compare it with an example of what i loved it would definitely be deadpool - the opening fucking slayed and also the like a prayer part. that shit went hard as hell and i didnt even like dp3 that much.
but overall i feel like the pacing was so much better in this one than the second movie and it felt like they actually gave more screentime to the nonhuman characters this time
- this is more critical but there were also parts that i loved and like overall the movie was good, i liked the story, i liked what they did with shadow (i wish they stretched out the tokyo part longer though, that was dope), loved what they did with him and maria, the movie felt balanced enough (but i felt that way about 2 and then on rewatch it was noticeable how many useless human scenes there were so that might change), the gun agents were walking the thin line of being too annoying but it was doable, i loved what they did with walters! also i like wade as a character but this was just enough (people were Groaning when he got on screen lmfao) same applies to the others but i was surprised that was it. so silly
however i still enjoyed 2 more. but this might just be the case of "im super tired, quite depressed, i dont care about anything rn, some ppl fucked me over today and i dont feel good, the vibe is off, i cant hear half of the movie, im too hot and got low bp and keep hearing my heartbeat louder than anything else, and i didnt get a happy ending" rather than "movie bad"
when they revealed shadow in 2 i was jumping off of my seat and gripping the one in front of me. this post creds reveal here was like "oh! okay nice" (<- expected this so 0 surprise or anything)
also for 2 i went in with low expectations and got peak. for 3 i expected better than 2. so i failed myself there
i wish i could say i enjoyed this even more than the 2nd movie. i wish i got back from the cinema just typing out jumbled words and screams on social media like after the 2nd. i got out of this one like "i have to pretend i loved this greatly like i had to do with the fnaf movie" but this was at least better than the fnaf movie to me lmao
fucking sonic prime got more reactions out of me than this movie and i wanted to enjoy it so bad. anyway i need meds or something i ran out of D3 its also that speaking thru me

Sonic movie 3 spoilers (again, cause I got more to say)
I love that this movie just immediately goes to the prison break. Like this movie really said "we know your here for him, we're not gonna make you wait." XD
The entire break out scene is so good. The lighting, the stasis tube thing is cool, the animation of Shadows little sleepy twitches. The subtle build up to the fact he's waking up (cause if he's twitching, that means he'd be in REM sleep, a stasis should be deeper, right?) The heart monitor alerting the guards to him waking up. Then there's the scene of him leaving the island, where he races across the water, and maybe I'm just imagining it, but I SWEAR you can see a learning curve in his initial animation. Like it looks like he takes a moment to figure out how to race across the water, which makes sense cause he's never done that before. It's some subtle but good animation and I appreciate it.
I love that he isn't immediately on a revenge spree, he's just kind of unsure what to do with himself. Like he hates GUN certainly, but like, yeah, he should. I wouldn't advise someone to trust the people that attacked his home and killed his best friend. Dude has every right to be defensive, and it was FULLY GUN's idea to attack him in a highly populated area.
I like that Shadow wasn't really too intent on harming Sonic and the gang, he was mostly trying to avoid and prevent them from following. I also like Shadow not being really cocky and arrogant, cause frankly I'm not sure that ever fit his backstory.
I like that it was Gerald who put the revenge idea in his head-annnnd as I say that, I understand that it was a way of doing the memory alter thing but in a less complicated way. NICE. I love the little haunted house moment in mountain base, loved seeing ma boi Casper. XD
I love Super Sonic's fight with Shadow. I love love LOVE Shadow's super form being more white gold, I'm sure that's not new, but he's real pretty. XD It's also really funny cause like...he has no idea what's going on but just goes with it. He has no idea what the chaos emeralds are, has no idea why Sonic is gold now, no idea why he's now gold, but is still unfazed. He is the epitome of the John Mulaney bit; "This might as well happen today."
I love that Shadow just kind of wants Sonic to kill him. Some good character writing. He wants justice/revenge for Maria, but he also just wants the pain to end. He just wants it all to go away.
tHE LIVE AND LEARN MOMENT WAS GREAT. NO NOTES. JUST PERFECTION. (The little genuine smile Shadow gets is so nice. Oh my god. It was hype)
HE TOOK OF THE POWER CUFFS! IT WAS NEVER STATED, THEY JUST FULLY TRUSTED THE FANS TO UNDERSTAND(at least...i don't recall the power cuffs ever being explained in the movie...)
While part of me misses the whole "Gerald made Shadow to cure Maria" thing, it doesn't really take away from the movie, and it does make it easier to do a Black Arms story line in the future, if they wanted to. Like they left that door WIDE open.
I think the only thing in this movie that I wasn't sure I liked was Gerald...we didn't really get any scenes of him before the 50 year imprisonment, so I kept having to remind myself that he likely wasn't this weird 50 years ago. But I also know they had to make him weird cause it's fucking Jim Carrey. XD Regardless, I think it ever so slightly took away from the emotional impact of the Eclipse canon scheme, cause I can't take him seriously for even a second. I'm also not sure how I feel about Keanu Reeves voice acting...like, he suits Shadow, but ...sometimes it feels like it's lacking some emotion. But maybe that's just the intended direction? Idk, I'll have to watch it a second time before I can really make a judgment. Maybe I'm just not used to it. XD Regardless, it would be the fans fault and not Sega cause yall asked for Reeves XD
I CALLED THE END CREDIT SCENE! I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE METAL SONIC! Eggman has had that quill thing forever, it's been established that his quills can power things, it only makes sense for Metal Sonic to appear.
I did not suspect MANY metal sonics however, or AMY!?! YOOOO??? Never have I been so hyped to see Amy XD
I had a blast at this movie X3

Finished watching the one with the whales. Here’s my review:
Overall, 10 out of 10. I can see why the Star Trek fan base loves the film.
There are some bits that have to do with previous films, which I haven’t seen. That was probably the only part that was hard to understand, but I was able to piece it together from context.
Iconic quotes. That’s all I have to say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a movie with a very high-stakes plot, but it’s also very fun. Just the classic Star Trek crew getting up to time travel shenanigans in San Francisco.
I’m also impressed with how on-the-nose Star Trek IV was with the environmental themes. Not even a tiny bit subtle about it. The extinction of humpback whales in that timeline was due to human activity— and if it weren’t for Kirk and company’s trip to the 1980s and back, all life on earth would have been toast.
We never did learn where the probe came from or where did it go (insert Cotton-Eyed Joe joke here), but that’s fine by me. This is Star Trek. A weird alien probe making whale noises and unintentionally messing with Earth’s weather is not the weirdest thing I’ve seen since I became a Trekkie.
The movie is serious, but also silly enough to be a proper piece of Star Trek content. Heck, I wouldn’t even say it’s a movie. It’s more like if you just watched a super long Trek episode, and I love that.
Tumblr media
I think I need to raise my rating of this movie to 100/10, because it definitely lives up to the hype, and I love the TOS crew. And any film or series with an environmental theme is an automatic two thumbs up from me.
Finch out.

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 14: DREAM CATCHER - Episode 13: Because We're With Our Friends
Tumblr media
Ibuki: << The hamburg steak, pancakes and fries are for over here. Thank youuu. >>
Ibuki: Woah~ I’m seriously grateful you’re getting me dinner just ‘cause I fought off that pickpocket.
Izumi: (They’re wolfing the food down at an amazingly fast pace…)
Ibuki: << Oh, I’d like another 5 servings of fries. >>
Ibuki: You guys want any?
Kumon: Oh, sure~
Misumi: I’ll eat the triangle fries~!
Ibuki: << Make that 7. >>
Izumi: 5 of those are for themself…
Yuki:  They ordered the same amount a while ago and ate it all.
Kazunari: You really do eat well, Ibukichi~
Muku: “Really”?
Kumon: Ibukichi’s known for their big appetite. They also upload food challenge videos, and they all blow up.
Ibuki: Potatoes are seriously so good! Potatoes FTW!
Tenma: So, what are you doing in the US?
Ibuki: I came to see my Nee-chan who’s studying here. I learned English while at it, too.
Muku: So that’s why you can speak English so well.
Ibuki: If you wanna be world-famous, you gotta have a global reach, and knowing English is a must!
Yuki: Heeh… You thought this through.
Ibuki: Duh! Can’t go around wasting even a second of my life.
Ibuki: You only live once, and you’re the protag of your own life. That’s why I focus on making myself shine most.
Ibuki: I gotta go all out if I wanna make my dreams come true.
Kumon: How nice~ I’d be able to enjoy musicals even more if I knew English.
Kazunari: Have you seen any musicals or plays while staying here, Ibukichi?
Ibuki: Liike I saaiid, I’ve got no interest in acting.
Ibuki: Time is money nowadays, and you want me to pay real money just to sit there? No thanks.
Ibuki: You can 2x a movie or a drama, but you can’t do that with live theater~
Izumi: (I see, so that’s how the youth nowadays thinks.)
Tenma: Then how come you know MANKAI Company?
Ibuki: I know someone who’s obsessed with you.
Ibuki: I watched a performance that was being streamed for free a while back cause he rec'd it like crazy, but all the actors were unknown hags.
Ibuki: And I’m not really into historical stuff.
Yuki: Could’ve been the performance with first gen.
Izumi: I guess those performances were a bit more adult oriented.
Muku: But there are all sorts of plays, so you might eventually find something to your liking.
Kumon:  You might also change your mind completely if you watch it in the theater instead of streaming it!
Ibuki: Hm~ Then, let’s turn the question around, what’s so good about theater?
Muku: Eh?
Kumon: When you ask it like that, it’s hard to sum it up in a few words…
Ibuki: When you work independently, you get to decide what to do and when you want to do it, and you can change your mind on the fly.
Ibuki: But you’ve got a script when acting, so you can’t change anything up, right? Ain’t that boring?
Ibuki: And having to get along with the others in the company sounds like a real hassle.
Tenma: It’s exactly because you’re not alone that you can create things you wouldn’t be able to create by yourself.
Kumon: Right, right! It’s like it takes you to places you’d never imagine!
Kazunari: It's super hype when you get into it~! I think that's a feeling you can't experience when you're by yourself.
Yuki: When I look back to when I was the only one who wore my self-designed outfits, I think my world was much smaller than it is now.
Misumi: Acting with everyone is the most fun!
Muku: Anything we can’t overcome by ourselves, we can overcome together, and then we can move on to the next challenges.
Tenma: Most importantly, I love the plays I put on together with these guys.
Kazunari: TenTen…!
Misumi: Me too~!
Kumon: I feel that way too!
Ibuki: Huuuh…?
Tenma: You’ll probably get what I mean when you make friends like this, too.
Ibuki: …

More amazing games this last couple of months! Mostly from crowd funds, but with a couple of birthday gifts and the first installment of Zine Club in the mix!!
Here's a breakdown with some "why I wanted to check 'em out" hype!
DCC - Sailors on a Starless Sea: I recently got a copy of Dungeon Crawl Classics, and asked folks in the Plus One Exp Discord for recommendations, because I'd seen a few of 'em talk about DCC. This had at least two people recommend it! So, I'll be skimming it.
Emerald Templars: I was initially intrigued because of the South American creators and focus of the game, and can't wait to explore it further. The art and the overall quality of the book look great, and I definitely love seeing Fantasy stuff that's not Euro-centric.
Lichoma: Billed as a "meatpunk" game, I really needed to know what that meant. It's a dark, violent and interesting game with some neat mechanics (at least per the stream I watched).
Convictor Drive: This hit crowdfunders around the same time as the Dark Souls 5e came out, and I think while the Cowboy Bebop RPG was crowdfunding. So I was on a kick of really wanting to see more Japanese games get translated and brought stateside, which this was. It's an exosuit procedural super-detective kind of game, which intrigued me, even beyond the JP angle.
Overisles, Inspirisles, and the Shaping Deck: This one I'd been aware of for a while, having gotten Overisles in a Bundle years ago. It's an RPG that uses American or British Sign Language as part of the mechanics. It's supposed to help you learn ASL or BSL, and I've always been curious about those languages. The books are gorgeous, and they came with a pin and 2 really beautiful booksmarks
The Wizards & the Wastes: Big fan of Snow's work in general, but what got me (aside from the Howl's Moving Castle touchstone) was the ability to use art you already own (books, poems, music) as a focus for your character's magical abilities. It's a really gorgeous book and I've been wanting to bring it to a table. I also really love the mechanic where you bring someone from outside the game in to solve disputes.
Crush Depth Apparition: Spooky submarine horror is a good concept on its own, but I was also excited because it just looked so stylish. Plus, another thing through Snow's store, so I was into it.
Girl by Moonlight: Sailor Moon but make it Forged in the Dark. I'm in! Partner and I have been watching the original Sailor Moon. I've been playing and enjoying Beam Saber, and I kind of love the way FitD games deal with character growth.
Wreck this Deck: The pitch is: You trap demons in a deck of cards, and actually mark the cards as you go, creating a neat artifact of play as you go. So after a few plays, you have this really ominous deck of cards, some of which are super messed up or even missing. It's a rad idea, and I'm looking forward to messing up a $3 Bicycle deck.
Guys in Chairs/Spin The Bottle: This is part of the Zine Club shipment for the month, but I'm also a big fan of Dillin's work. I heard them play Guys in Chairs on Party of One, and it's a great game.
1978 - The Night They Came Home (and a Trick-or-Treat bag with rollable tables because why not): I backed this before I ever saw Halloween, but having gotten into those movies this past spooky season, I'm really into this. 2-player game where one of you is the killer, and the other is the person trying to run.
Fox Curio's Floating Bookshop: This looks beautiful, pastoral, and I love a good spiral binding. It's a journaling RPG about someone who runs a bookshop that floats up and down the river. It's super cute and I love it.
Nasty, Brutish, and Long: Friends at the Table put me in a revolutionary action mood, but I also really like the work that Not Writing Games puts out. Also been on a bit of a FitD kick lately (as previously established). I'm also going to pass by making jokes about the name.
The Corrupted: The other half of the Zine Club shipment for the month. I've heard extremely good things about this, and zombie horror is a fantastic genre in general. So I'm hype to dig in.
Hark! Says the Frog Magus: When this was first announced, I was bummed because I'd just lost my job and wasn't sure I'd be able to justify a purchase. So, a friend preordered it as a birthday gift (same friend later got me a different gift because they're a monster). Sin's work in general is rad, and this is adorable but also a great adventure, so I needed it.
I will take a second to highlight these two!
Tumblr media
They came from the Plus One EXP Zine Club, and the sticker did too! And it's such a rad thing. A monthly subscription that brings some zines to my door, supports indie creators, and keeps the lights on for a community I care about. All Wins all the time.
I also received the expansion for Return to Dark Tower. I haven't really played Covenant yet, but I'm excited to try it out, because it adds some rad new models and some cool new classes, and a whole bunch of new skulls for the Tower.

So, how did you end up stumbling into Monogatari as a series? And who would you say was your Favorite character before Ougi filled that spot? I'd love to ask more about Ougi but, y'know, personal spoilers and all.
oh oh oh yes i have an answer for this one
actually the answer to both is nadeko!! you are right that ougi is my all time fave but nadeko was acc my fave before them and still holds my second place slot!! talking about it below with spoiler talks of otorimonogatari
similarly to you i stumbled upon it in my teens like a while back. my first impression was like the memes and stuff of course with renai circulation and what not. which led to me seeing a comparison video of renai circulation and mousou express, which is super interesting and cool even without context. and scary for that matter mousou express is kind of terrifying. it leaves an incredibly lasting impression, and it certainly did on me back then. of course it helped that i like the songs too. i also saw a clip of her in medusa form which was intriguing (and also i love the design of it). this on its own though was not enough to get me to watch. actually no wait i think i tried to watch it but the order was so confusing that i started with like nise by accident somehow and i had no idea what was going on so i quit lmao. but i was still curious about the series partly due to nadeko and partly bc it was like one of those big shows that you hear about yk
then fast forward a while, i hear the kizumonogatari movies r comin out so im like fuck it lets watch even tho i have no context. luckily they turned out to be prequel stories and my experience was not totally ruined by this move lol. of course, they were really good, those movies are amazing. so now i was like more invested in the story, but only by a little bit more. the final push i needed to actually try to watch (again) was ultimately because i was so curious about nadeko. tbh she was also the reason why i finished the series in the first place. monogatari on first watch for me was overwhelming and very dense (i mean, its a dense show), and before otori i actually wasn't enjoying it like a LOT, especially not with all the weird bits the series likes to throw at you. not to say that i disliked it, it just wasn't like amazing to me. of course now i feel differently and love the early parts of the series very much too, but first watch was slightly rough at times and took me a while to complete. learning what was gonna happen with nadeko was a big motivating factor for me.
but then when i acc got to otori i was like HOLY SHIT ITS ME lmao. i mean id already liked nadeko the best from the very little id seen of her and the fuzzy spoiler memory of vaguely what was going to happen in her arc. but man otori was so good and resonated with me so much, every single moment of it was so gripping to me. i loved the stark contrast in nadeko's perspective from araragi's (esp noticeable in how she sees her classmates), how it's already set up at the very beginning as a story where she Gets Worse so there's a feeling of profound dread surrounding it, her outburst at school (my jaw actually dropped at the "shut up!" i was so shocked and then hyped lol), just like everything about kuchinawa, the incredible ost (not to mention that op of course). ougi actually did contribute to the enjoyment bc she brought up such interesting ideas at the beginning and is generally such an enigma, but shes not the focus here right now i just cant help but bring up ougi in any situation. but yeah otori hands down one of my favorite arcs, one of the ones i still go back to rewatch frequently for the profound effect it had on me and the comfort it brings
its like what you were talking about with hanekawa. nisioisin truly did an incredible job with his characterization to make so many very true-to-life and nadeko is absolutely no exception, she is very relatable to me. i've got a lot of experience in life being shy, quiet, socially anxious, generally anxious lol (although not anymore!), and as 'the sweetheart who can do no wrong', so it's very much nadeko's specific brand of avoidance and like... 'outward-facing personality management' that resonates with me, if that makes sense. i was completely aligned with her during that whole watchthrough of otori in terms of feeling how she felt. i was seeing myself reflected back at me from the screen lol. of course we have lots of differences too but the similarities were really capturing to me on my first watch through and kinda catapulted me to finish the rest. her later appearances only added onto my appreciation of her too. i'll leave it there though since you don't know so much about that yet. when u get there ill probably have more to talk about. but shes a wonderful character love her very much.
also. ghh. i wish i could say more about ougi. you have no idea. im so curious to see what you will think of them. im practically vibrating with how much i want to talk about them (a constant state of being for me). but i wont say anything yet. i will be Hush...

9, 10, 11 please if you're still doing the ask game 🥺 would LOVE to see Dominoes in a manga format, imagine how cool that would be!
That would be so freakin' cool!!!!!
Here ya go!
9. in an ideal world where you’re already super successful and published, would you want to see a tv or movie adaptation of your work? why or why not?
I think I've mentioned this before, but Dominoes would benefit from a visual adaptation, because the Pandora Effect could get some cool signifier like, people under its influence get red pupils or something. I think that would be pretty hype.
And also, for comprehensibility. Most of the cast would be spending Part 1 with some subtle but permanent indicator that they aren't quite themselves, something I can only hint at in written form when constricted to the POV of the mostly oblivious characters. Besides Hakuba and Yuusaku, none of them recognize when they're under the influence, so it's tricky to try and convey it through writing alone without being too obvious.
Also, fight scenes. The fight scenes would be cool.
10. at what point in the process do you come up with titles, and how easy or hard is that for you?
Titles are easy for me, in that I put zero effort into them, and they usually happen at last minute. Up until right before I hit publish, I usually just have placeholder titles. The original draft of Dominoes is still named "Reporters" in my drive.
I usually either go with a pun or a reference to some scientific concept, ie Schrodinger's Detective, Fata Morgana, and Uncertainty Principle. When I really can't think of anything, I just resort to basing the title on the place I wrote the first chapter, usually a fast food chain. Hence, Dominoes.
(Spy x Enemy was almost named after KFC or Raising Cane's, but the discord crew intervened.)
11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?
I was about to say I don't do that much research until I remembered how thoroughly I answered the question "how to become a rocket scientist" for a fic I haven't even published. Did you know you can take an virtual tour of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Lab now? Technology is amazing.
I researched NGO and government structures for constructing ISHA and how it functions as an organization, as well as looked into research labs in Tokyo and yada yada yada.
A lot of other stuff is based on experience, like the university lab the RSC rob is based on the one I used to work in, as well as Sherry's research that was stolen from there. The titles of her papers on based on real shit, with some sci-fi/fantasy liberties taken. Shinichi's spiels about his reporter work are based on what I learned from working with freelance reporters during my activism days.
I also consider watching/reading Detective Conan as research for my fics as well, because I like to use actual people, companies, and etc from the canon world for Dominoes.
But its fan fiction, so I don't hold myself to reality too much. Rule of Cool trumps all else in my mind, so I'm not afraid to disregard accuracy in favor of "shit that would be awesome".

Hey again! (Omg, I'm already bugging you again) I love that you're doing matchups at the Valentine's Day event and I'm so excited! You nailed it when you matched me with the man I love (Jotaro) but I was curious to know which other character I could match with in JJBA🙈
Oh, and it's here the link for my matchup: https://at.tumblr.com/strawmariee/hello-i-see-your-requests-are-closed-but-i-hope/aqy86643wxwm
My Hobbies: Well, I really like listening to music (I can spend the whole afternoon doing that, my poor ears lol), drawing, writing or reading fanfics or whatever, watching movies or series, exercising (I'm trying) and dancing.
My Appearence: Well, I'm a short girl (1.57cm/5'2), I have medium, wavy and dark blonde hair. I have green eyes, I'm thin and I'm also very white (Actually, in the sun I look like Edward Cullen). And I also have to wear glasses because without them I'm almost blind🥲
What I want out of a relationship: I want my boyfriend to treat me like a princess, you know? That he respects me, gives me my space when I need it and that he shows how much he loves me because I am a very insecure person🥲. I would like us to spend time talking about what we have in common and that when he has a problem he would run to me so I can comfort him🥺. And also that he laugh at my jokes because I love to tell them!
Dream First Date: Wow, whenever I think of a first date I always imagine myself in a movie theater with him. He would choose a horror movie on purpose just to scare me and hug him. And then he would take me to the beach where there would be a picnic waiting for us! Like that:
Tumblr media
And I'm so excited to read everything you'll write! I'm sure it will be perfect as always!!😍
notes 💌: hi love :) you're the first person in this wonderful event, so happy valentine's day, dear! i am super honored to host an event like this, so thank you for supporting me and wanting a matchup! in this event i am playing cupid and super excited to match you up with someone new. I know I matched you with Jotaro, but I think I found a new man that fits you just as well <3
the character Cupid chooses for you this Valentine's Day is...
GYRO ZEPPELI!!
Tumblr media
I know, I know, he's a lot different than Jotaro, that's for sure
but hear me out
the man is tall
really tall
so he will compare heights and call you short as a joke
he thinks it's cute though
he loves your eyes
as a fellow green eyed human being, he cant help but stare into yours all the time
he will braid your hair
yes
(please braid his too)
this man will absolutely treat you like a princess
it's kind of his thing
like i feel like thats how he wants a relationship to be
after he met johnny, gyro has learned to respect everyone, so you dont have to worry one bit about him respecting you or giving you space, because he is already prepared to help you with what you need
he is your #1 hype man
he calls you beautiful all the time and really shows that he loves you with all of his heart and soul
he loves talking to you, so expect a lot of long conversations with this man that last for far too long but are too much fun
and yes, to know that you are his hype girl makes his heart swell
he loves that you are there for him as much as he is for you
you two tell way too many stupid jokes and end up laughing for hours
and this is why i thought he was perfect. you have a lot in common, but those differences are what make you fit too :)
💌How would he ask you to be his valentine???
you would just be all comfortable at home chillin and mans comes in with a GIANT ASS TEDDY BEAR trying to squeeze its fluffy butt through the door, and a big bouquet of roses. he would give you his iconic smile and set all of the silly little valentine's trinkets on the table in front of you. "will you be my valentine?" he asks, a stupid grin slapped onto his lips. you giggle and run over to hug him nearly knocking him over. "of course i will, dummy."
💌 Valentine's Day Date
After gyro hands you an insane amount of valentine's day gifts, he leans down and presses a kiss onto your lips. "so, what do you want to do for the special day?" he asked, rubbing his thumb over your cheek. "I think we should-" "A horror movie sounds great." Gyro winked at you and you couldn't help but burst out into laugher. "Very romantic, Zeppeli." You joked, putting your hand lovingly onto your chest. "Isn't it?" Gyro handed you tickets that he had already purchased weeks ago. "Let's not be late, yeah?" You just smiled and latched onto his arm, letting him lead you to the movie theater. The movie wasn't long, but it sure as hell was scary. You knew why he chose it, so you could cling onto him whenever you got scared, but you left the movie theater with wide eyes. "I didn't mean for it to scare you that bad, darlin." Gyro gave you a concerned look and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear and pressed a kiss onto the lobe. "It wasn't that bad," you giggled, clutching onto his arm. "I mean, it was a good movie and I got you hug you the whole time, but I don't think I want to see a horror movie for a while." Gyro giggled at you and you two went for a short walk. You had no clue where the two of you were headed, but he sure did. "What's this?" You asked as he led you onto the beach. "Oh, nothin." Gyro said in a singsongy voice before looking down at a fully set up picnic. "Oh? What's this? A romantic picnic on the beach for two?!" You stared at it for a second and looked up at Gyro with a huge smile. "Gyro! I love it! How the heck did this get here?" "Johnny." Gyro laughed. "He helped me get it all set up." You quickly sat on the picnic blanket and watched the sunset while Gyro set up both of your dinners. You clanged a glass to his and pressed a kiss onto his cheek. "Happy Valentine's Day, love." <3

i'm watching a craaaaazy lot of movies about sewer slide and kinda g°ry stuff in general and it's making me hella triggered lmaooooooooooooo
long ass review and rant about some movies i watched recently (as if i don't already have a letterboxd for this) anyways, strong themes mentioned beware
anyways su1c1de club isn't good? i was kinda hyped on learning Sion Sono style, sampling two movies (Tag, 2015, and this one) and hhhhhh, i mean it's a 2001 movie... his style definetly got more defined over the years i guess. maybe i'll try another one of his, this one just really wasn't it.
but As The Gods Will and Ichi The Killer are so consistent even being like 14 years apart? I wanted to hit up some Takashi Miike stuff after seeing he'll be adapting Onimusha and omg I'm kinda excited! I didn't think Kamisama no Iutoori really works as a movie, but I really liked the direction and nonlinear storytelling. and is hilarious as when I was talking about it with my boyfriend we found out the author also made Blue Lock (he hated the concept of the movie/manga and loves BL he was devastated). And Ichi the Killer? Holy shit, I love movies with extremely unhinged men like fr fr ughhhh. I loved Karen tho I was so sad when Ichi went ballistic on her.. And man Kakihara dresses SO FUCKING WELL, I was extremely delighted to find out the actor is Lord Raiden in the most recent MK movies ughhhh he's so fine.. and well back to his direction, I even commented with my bf he'd make a great Re:Zero adaptation if he'd like. Like the nonlinear stuff just pairs so well with the way he presents a story, like showing the present, then the past, then a glimpse on an earlier moment of the present, then another shot on another POV altogether like !??!?!?! imagine being in a direction contest and your opponent is the man who made Yakuza, Jojo, Ace Attorney, even fucking Dead or Alive live actions, like just you get to this level?? anyways watching movies is really a blessing i thank all the Gods for this possibility I love it so much omfggg1!?!?!?
is like so good to outgrow small and obnoxious characteristics of yourself, like when I was smaller I never went to the movies (my parents just weren't interested because we def could afford), I used to haaate live action movies they just weren't as fun as animations and ugh how could I have kept myself locked from gems like this for so long? Like this literally started to change a few 2/3 years ago???? likeee aaaah!??!!??!
and as an ending note it's like suuuper hypocritical I complained to my bf about the murd3r and r4p& scene on Suicide Club because there's an almost identical scene in A Clockwork Orange, even forgive me the wording, is really one of the most iconic scenes from the movie. I also couldn't stop thinking about Genesis by Eden everytime the damn character was on screen it was super annoying.
if anyone read up til here (lmao) watch Guinea Pig 4 Devil Woman Doctor, is just a couple of very funny skits of the Doctor (portrayed by actor Shinnosuke Ikehata/Peter, who stars as Eddie in The Funeral Parade of Roses (1969)!!) "treating" her patients with very unnsual illnesses, such as a talking stomach, a tattoo that doesn't stand still, and so on! It's like super funny and you can see everyone there has their share of fun, as the movie ends with everyone literally laughing their asses off. You can watch it on youtube w/ eng subs. and obv, you don't need to watch any previous Guinea Pig movies, they are even too much for me for what I've heard of it, at least for now.

Completed BL Dramas Recommendations
So, I'm pretty picky about the types of BL dramas I watch. I've watched a lot, but I usually never end up really loving it, you know? I enjoy scenes here and there, so I decided to make a list of the ones I absolutely adored from beginning to end! Warning though, this is…a really short list. If you have any suggestions on BL movies/dramas, please share them!
2 Moons (2017) (Thai) - 12 Episodes
Tumblr media
Plot (MDL): Wayo Panitchayasawad is a freshman at a university that is also attended by his long-time secret love, Phana Kongthanin, a second-year student. As the Campus Moon, Pha is extremely popular but he does not seem to enjoy popularity at all. When Yo becomes the Moon of his department, the two meet on a daily basis. Their relationship starts quite rough since Pha seems to pick on Yo, but things change.
Notes: This is actually my very first BL drama, so I guess it will always hold a special place in my heart. It was super light and cute. I loved it! I watched it with my mom (lols), and we both enjoyed it so much! I loved Phana and Wayo in this one. And the song. Mygoodness, the song. It will forever be stuck in my head (1~ 2~ 3~ 4~ 5~ I love you~). Actually, I really liked everyone here! The chemistry was great, the acting, and the friendships. <3 It actually has a 2019 remake (2 Moons 2), where the story progressed much farther than 2 Moons. In that one, I actually mostly enjoyed watching Kit and Ming. They were super cute. The chemistry between them was off the charts. I'd suggest 2 Moons 2 for those two alone. However, I didn't care much for Phana x Wayo in the remake. I liked it more when they weren't on the screen…sorry, but the other couples were way, way more interesting with better chemistry… So yes, I suggest 2 Moons (2017) if you want something light-hearted, fun, and short!
Tumblr media
Semantic Error (2022) (Korean) - 8 Episodes
Tumblr media
Plot (MDL): Chu Sang Woo is a junior computer science majoring student who prizes reason, rules, and a rigid sense of what is right above all else. As part of his university work, he is told to work on a group project for the liberal arts, whereby the group is required to make a final presentation in order to pass the module. But as the rest of the group – whom he knows nothing about – have decided to leave him to do all the work on his own, he decides to remove their names, and make the presentation in his name.
But little did he know that when he did this, he would deal a heavy blow to the academic prospects of a senior student named Jang Jae Young. The latter, a design major, is Chu Sang Woo’s polar opposite. He is stylish, fun-loving, and – above all – extraordinarily popular. He is the closest thing the college has to a superstar! But when his credit for the liberal arts project is taken away, his grand plans to study abroad are suddenly thrown up in the air. He seeks out Chu Sang Woo and is of a mind to torment him. But when the duo is forced to work together, a strange attraction starts to develop between them…
Notes: Oh. My. Gods. This drama.
I actually read the Manhwa of Semantic Error, so you have no idea how hyped I was to learn about the adaptation. AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT ME. o(≧∇≦o)
Everything about this short drama is great. I honestly believe it adapted the web novel really, really well! My friend and I watched it together, and we couldn't stop feeling all fluttery and screeching our hearts out after every episode! ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝ It very easily took the number 1 spot in my list for BL Dramas, no contest. And even though it was short, it didn't feel rushed, you know?
Other than the amazing (in my opinion) story (except for that really, really weird scene in French class. I didn't understand its purpose when I first watched (and rewatched mehehe) this drama, and I still don't understand it to this day), the actors and the acting! Mygoodness. I thought they casted them to a tee. Park Jae Chan is the perfect Cha Sang Woo, and of course, Park Seo Ham is the perfect Jang Jae Young. Don't even get me started on the chemistry between these two because booooooooooi. There would be sparks every time they were in a scene together. WHY ARE THEY SO CUTE TOGETHER?!?!?!? My heart. TT^TT
Other than the two adorable main characters, I absolutely loved the side characters as well! In my opinion, Choi Yu Na is an absolute queen, and I absolutely adore Ryu Ji Hye. Seriously, you can't hate anyone in this.
So if you haven't watched this yet, please, please do. You will not regret it. Just remembering the scenes from this drama makes me feel all fluttery. ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ HAHAHHA.

the 3k word mario movie review
here are my first thoughts on the mario movie. i'm probably gonna end up watching it again but i think ive had enough time to think about it to get my thoughts straight on what i think! even with how long this is, i'm sure i forgot stuff, but i hit on everything major i think.
tl;dr: 7/10. preddy good.
alright so under the cut is gonna be me being wayyyy too much about super mario brothers, so be ready for that. (but if you're following me then that's probably what you want LOL.) half mario review, half personal essay. very little chris pratt talk. i make fun of a lot of stuff but only because i love Mario so much. if you're mad at me for my Hot Mario Takes, just remember that i care about this more than anything and i'm going to die alone probably.
this is REALLY long and i'm sorry. spoilers, obviously.
my background/perspective: i'm closer to 30 than 20, and i've been a fan of mario since i could look at a tv screen. my introduction was the first Mario Kart game. Mario was my first ever online fandom, going on mario fansites like Lemmy's Land and Neglected Mario Characters was how i learned how to use the internet. a lot of my sense of humor and artistic style comes from the mario franchise, especially Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (if you can believe it lol.) i wrote a mario high school au fic when i was 8 years old. i'm cringe and i'm proud.
i also went to school for animation. i fucking love cartoons. so, needless to say, i was hyped for this movie, even not being the biggest fan of Illumination as a studio. i had measured expectations, but i really went in wanting to like the movie. (which i did, but not in so few words.) i was just as prepared to not like it, and i didn't want to get too excited for something that might not live up to my expectations. yeah yeah, it's just The Mario Movie. well, i love movies and i love mario.
i avoided watching a lot of trailers past the first couple, but i was aware of the content of them. mostly through tumblr gifs, lol. so i went in medium-cold.
as expected by now, the movie looked amazing. Illumination has always had great character animation, but imo this is the best looking movie they've ever made. the environments, especially the ones with mushrooms, were gorgeous. The movie started with that Bowser scene from one of the trailers where he destroys the ice castle. it was cool seeing the full version of the scene, and when Bowser said, "...or DIE!" i was like "oooh. he's a little scary 😈"
before i get any deeper into it i just want to say: this was a movie for babies. obviously, it's the Super Mario Brothers movie. i think everyone is going to go in knowing that. the showing i was at was full of kids, a lot of them in costume or carrying Yoshi plushies. They would cheer at stuff and laugh at the silly slapstick humor, and i honestly think that enhanced the experience. a kid yelled "RAINBOW ROAD, BABY!" and it was amazing! that's Mario, fun for the whole family.
second thing: kid's movie ≠ bad movie. everyone should know this by now, in this post-puss-in-boots world. i would not compare the mario movie to puss in boots, by the way, it's just fresh in my mind and also based off existing kid's media. the only thing they truly have in common is the medium. their target audience is different, even if the vast majority wouldn't notice. like, i wouldn't bring a toddler to puss in boots, but i would to the mario movie. Bowser is not actually going to murder anybody. mario is also not gonna kill him at the end. nobody is gonna DIE in the mario movie.
all this to say. i was dazzled by the imagery in the opening scene for the usual reasons i like Illumination - the set pieces were huge and detailed, the lighting is amazing and atmospheric, the synergy between the character animation and the voice acting is solid. i especially liked the part when Kamek enchanted the pieces of rubble to make stairs for Bowser to walk up, it showed what their relationship is like and what a toady (ha-ha) Kamek is. (not the characterization i would go for with Kamek but *big heavy dramatic sigh* WHATEVER)
so, that scene ends. we cut to Mario and Luigi's commercial, which i LOVED. i thought it was so fun, and i love the analog quality to it and how DIY it was. and the best part for me - i love that we're in Brooklyn, NY!! when that first trailer dropped and i realized the movie was gonna be an isekai, i was so so happy. it's my favorite version of mario bros canon, and one of the few things in actual canon that i think gives Mario depth. it's compelling to me, the idea of a regular blue collar dude who's maybe in his 30s (mario is not 24 and i will die on this hill) who gets spirited away to a magical land where he doesn't belong, but he helps save the day because he wants to (and maybe he falls in love along the way??) uh put a pin in that thought i guess.
so, the dialogue starts, and it hits me - okay, this move is gonna be kinda stupid.
maybe that's harsh? let me try to explain what i mean. it was immediately apparent that this was going to be a funny, silly movie that wasn't gonna be too serious. the comedy is broad. when they walk by Foreman Spike and he's like "YOU'RE A LOOSAH, MARIO! YOU'LL ALWAYS BE A LOOSAH" or whatever, i was like, okay. we're not getting a Deep Mario Character Study. not that that's what i expected, of course, i'm just a weirdo who has dedicated his life to Deep Mario Character Studies. That's a me problem. but i still half expected mario to go "oh yeah, Foreman Spike from Wrecking Crew for NES (1985)? You won't be laughing when I become Nintendo + Illumination: The Super Mario Bros. Movie!" so i don't LOVE that vibe
okay, i'm like 2% of the way into the movie and this is already spiraling out of amuck. my point is that i'm not going to knock this movie for the things it isn't. it has that sorta glossy rounded-edges writing that movies from this studio have. in a way, it the writing is like a mario game. illumination + nintendo is kind of a match made in heaven.
for the rest of this manifesto, i'm going to divide my thoughts into three sections: stuff i liked, stuff i didn't like, and stuff i had complicated feelings about.
stuff i liked
Firstly, MARIO'S FAMILY! maybe the highlight of the whole movie for me. i knew we'd get Brooklyn, but seeing the whole Mario fam was a shock. not a lot of fanworks give them a big family like that, so it was nice to see! everyone looked great, and it was so cool to see mario and luigi in that context.
and Mario's bedroom?? was SO cute. im gonna have to pause and zoom and see what's in there because i dont remember the details but like i said, the environments are SO solid, and that doesn't stop for the Real World scenes. Brooklyn is just as gorgeous and detailed as the Mushroom Kingdom. the movie was never boring to look at.
seriously, the look of this movie is INSANE. That initial little Mushroom Grove location knocked my socks off, it reminded me of The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach, which is the highest compliment I can give to this movie. the visuals were absolutely off the hook.
the character design was also really nice, which i was a little worried about going in. there's this tendency with some artists to make Peach an ethereal boobie goddess and Mario a little baby goblin sprite, so i liked that they looked like they could smooch if they wanted to. (they didn't.) i knew it would be a fine line to walk between staying true to the in-game renders of the characters and keeping things visually interesting/fresh and new, and I think they walked that line well. everybody looked like they were drawn from the same hand. the visual style of the film was the most cohesive part of it.
the action scenes were really fun to watch, and i loved that scene in Brooklyn when Mario is parkouring around the city with Luigi stumbling behind him. they did a good job making Brooklyn really lively and exciting in its movements. everything was super bouncy!
the Mario Kart sequence was REALLY fun and I'm mostly putting this here for how much my dad loved it. it had everything you could want from Mario Kart on the big screen, and the little speedrunning maneuver Mario does was great.
Bowser. maybe the best performance in the movie, which is par for the course for Jack Black showing up in movies. i think everyone agrees on this so i won't go on too much, but for the most part i liked his characterization. i love a goofy bowser, and i like that his actions had consequences in the end, too. i always loved the games where Bowser is on your side. in my opinion, he's at his best when he's a petulant manlizardbaby, not the Supreme Lord of Darkness.
bowser in a jar at the end was really funny. Make That Guy Tiny! i also love the implication that without Bowser telling them what to do, the Koopa army just kinda chills out. i like that vibe.
stuff i didn't like
The trailers gave too much away. I feel bad because this isn't a knock on the movie on its own, but like, EVERYTHING luigi did the whole movie was in the trailers. like, for how short the movie was, it's insane how much they showed. speaking of which...
god bless Illumination and their tight 90 minute runtimes. (this was 92, actually! yay!) the movie overall felt very fast, which in the action/platforming scenes was great! but most of the time, it just forces the plot to happen to the characters while they're tossed around like ragdolls. at one point i remember saying to my dad, "why is mario like this? he's just down for whatever." (put a pin in that. meanwhile...)
here's that pin from earlier! this is a big one for me - i thought every piece of dialogue between Mario and Peach was disappointing. their first meeting was weird as hell, and it gets worse. it's a symptom of the larger problem of things being really rushed - there's almost no time for characters to interact with each other. a lot is resting on existing relationship dynamics. Mario and Luigi as brothers, Peach and Bowser as old enemies, Peach and her toads' bond, ect. The most developed relationship between two characters who meet during the events of the movie is Mario and Donkey Kong, which... sorry DK stans, but it just isn't my jam.
with Luigi being the one kidnapped, i thought maybe we'd have some sort of relationship form between Mario and Peach in the meantime, and i guess it did? kinda? like i said a million words ago, nothing ever really gets too deep. they have conversations looking out onto vast beautiful landscapes, and in romantic fire flower fields, but... i don't know, they just seem like work friends. they don't really talk about anything serious, and even when they do, it just feels like the scene ends right when it's gonna get good. and the one moment where mario is "flirting" with her gets ruined by Donkey Kong. so, that's cool.
Luigi didn't do shit! not even a hot gay sex scene with Bowser he just gets captured, almost dies in lava, and then Mario rescues him. as a Mario stan (and comparing this to the live action movie for a sec) i did appreciate the focus on Mario, but it's such a shame that Luigi didn't really get to do much besides sit in a box. :(
To me, the overall structure of the movie was pretty weak. There were so many cool parts, but it just never really coagulated into anything cohesive narratively to me. a huge part of that was that the stakes weren't really there. and it's not that big, dramatic things didn't HAPPEN, the characters just didn't give the weight and gravitas to them one might expect.
the licensed music fucking sucked, but thats par the course for this studio so it didnt surprise me. it made me angry the same way Suicide Squad did, because i'm not against licensed music as a concept. (see: breaking bad/bettercallsaul, shrek, ect.) it's just like, don't go with the FIRST song you think of, y'know? or, like, why BOTHER with something like Mario, which has SO much established score you could do instead.
Mario Not Liking Mushrooms is on the tier of Cruella de Ville's mom being killed by dalmatians or whatever. it made my dad laugh, though.
this is not a knock on finding the movie funny - i was laughing throughout most of it - but it has this self-aware thing about it that a lot of movies have nowadays that i just do not find charming. the whole "oh, these bricks are just FLOATING here? well THAT just happened" or "you mean i have to EAT mushrooms?? but i HATE mushrooms! this is the OPPOSITE of what i want!" it's just so... bland. it doesn't have its own identity. it's studio-funny and really, really safe. (it's Nintendo + illumination: The Super Mario Bros. Movie.)
this last point might be controversial, but i hated the scene with Mario and Luigi as babies. i thought it was dumb and bad. by far, was my least favorite scene. it just felt so... i don't know. it was just a bit much. i'll expand more on why in the 'complicated feelings' section, but i just want to shine a spotlight on that scene as the low point of the movie for me. but my grandma liked it, so i'm probably just a hater.
(VERY close second was the one where Bowser is practicing what to say to Peach, then it cuts to Kamek in a wig. booooo! *throws tomatoes*)
stuff i had complicated feelings about
pratt did fine. it's really easy to forget about the man and just see the character, which is a huge compliment. celebrity voice actors are an industry problem (one that Illumination contributes to a LOT tbf) and i think the fact that pratt kinda 'disappeared into the role' was a plus. it still kinda feels like a silly casting choice overall, though. i remember watching the Nintendo direct live where they announced it, and i was gasping for air from laughing so hard, i had to pause it. but anyway, this is just my own taste, and probably nostalgia from the Super Show, but i prefer a more curmudgeonly, Brooklyn-accented Mario. so for me, pratt did fine.
bowser. i loved jack black's performance and he struck the tone for bowser that i was looking for, but as a big fan of Tenacious D, some parts were less "bowser as a character" and more "Tenacious D song from Bowser's POV." Of everything i've talked about so far this feels the most like nitpicking because Jack Black's performance really was a highlight of the movie, but hey, we've made it this far!! you're locked in this Confessional Box with me and you're getting everything!!
one thing i can point to in regards to this - and i can't believe i'm about to say this because it's so ridiculous sounding - but they gave Bowser a little bit of a "yandere" vibe, right?? *sniper dot appears on my forehead* but they could've leaned further into it, and it was kinda overshadowed by the Jack Black of it all.
here's that second pin! it's for Mario's Daddy Issues! it's not a bad idea per se, like, yeah, you can do that sort of arc with Mario, why not? (he's got a couple daddy issues in my own fanon to be fair!) but the way it was integrated into the plot just felt SO cookie cutter, like literally ANY character could have had Mario's arc in this movie. it didn't feel related thematically to what was actually happening in the movie, and the reason that bothers me is because Mario is just so BLASE about everything happening to him! Like, sure, he's bumbling around all confused like a cheep-cheep out of water, but since there's just no room to breathe, we can't have anything more than narrative shorthand for arcs you've seen before. but the potential for depth is there!! it is!!!
i think what i mean is that there's not really levels to how characters react to things, almost like they're not allowed to have too extreme emotions. it feels like they had constraints, and they couldn't establish too much about the characters. Nintendo is a tightly controlled brand, right?
so, because of that, it's REALLY strange to me that they not only gave Peach a backstory, but to my knowledge, a backstory that doesn't come from any of the games or past adaptations. in a way, her story is the reverse opposite of Daisy from the live action Mario movie. if this movie had been twenty minutes longer, i would've loved to see this resolved in a more satisfying way! it really feels like there was no emotional resolution to her story, which surprises me because there were obvious parallels to Mario's angst about his own family/desire to Save Brooklyn in Peach's struggle to protect the toads. like i said earlier when i was talking about Mario and Peach's conversations, it felt like it stopped right before it was about to get good.
it just doesn't seem like the characters in this movie feel things deeply. most characters end in the same place they started. that isn't a bad thing, by the way, which is why it's in the "complicated feelings" section. lots of movies do that - Back to the Future does that, my favorite movie of all time.
it's all very, very down-the-middle. it's for everyone, it's for no one. it's Nintendo + Illumination: The Super Mario Bros. Movie., and everything that entails.
i think the reason the Baby Mario scene bothers me is because it reminds me too much of the fact that this movie is a product. all movies are, don't get me wrong, but there are so many parts of this movie that felt especially product-y. it was just kinda blatant about it in the stereotypical way that b-tier animated kid's movies are. it was packed with references, which in a way was cool to see. i'm sure that when i watch it again i'll catch all sorts of things i didn't catch before. but this movie kinda just feels like a PILE of stuff all mashed together without much thought put into how the actual world is supposed to work, or what the lives of the people who live there are like, or how they feel that their kingdom is being destroyed.
let me just be totally real for a second. *unzips clown costume a little*
art means a lot to me, obviously. and if i'm being totally real and baring my soul or whatever, nothing has impacted my artistic life and process more than Super Mario Bros. There's nothing I can do about it. the sky is blue, water is wet, and i love mario.
i saw this move sitting in a row with my family, in seats we'd all reserved in advance. i was sitting between my parents, who taught me how to play Mario. i had a smile on my face the whole time, even during the Baby Mario scene. every time something cool or flashy happened, a tiny voice from somewhere in the theater would GASP, or yell "LET'S-A GO" or "IT'S PEACH!!!"
among my group was my youngest cousin, who's eight years old, and i realized that she's the same age i was when i created my account on Lemmy's Land and made a Koopaling OC. (that used to be the Thing to do in mario fandom.) that realization almost gave me a fuckin stroke. the passage of time, am i right?
but anyway, if this movie had come out when i was a kid, it would've blown my mind and changed my life. i felt a weird ennui after the movie ended, and everyone was asking me what i thought. people at work the next day were asking me about it, because i'm the Mario Guy even in real life. and i didn't have an answer. i didn't know what i thought.
what i said to them was, "i'm weird, i'm not a good example of a normal opinion on this movie. 7/10." and then i went home and i wrote the 3000 words you see above you.
this is longer than most of my Mario fics, let's-a wrap this up.
hopefully i've given a little bit of a sense of what i thought of the movie. It's everything, it's nothing. you are in its target demographic whether you like it or not. it's the movie some of you have been waiting for your whole lives. it had expectations that it never had a chance of living up to. it has jack black. it's a pile of mush. (no pun nintended.)

i guess i should've expected getting into a decades-old series like the legend of zelda would've left me lost in the lore and different eras of game development philosophies, but also i got into it when i was like 10 at the time so this isn't my fault.
a little before the switch/botw came out, i got a fun little zelda-like 3ds game (ever oasis) i absolutely loved to death and replayed constantly. my brother around the same time got oot for his 3ds, and absolutely loved and replayed that. he tried to get me to play it, they were so similar and he thought i would like it, but i Did Not Like the graphics or controls and never got further than the great deku tree and wasn't interested in playing the game any further.
then the switch and botw came out, and my brother got those and would make me come watch him play. this was supremely cool for both of us, but i never really played botw myself.
a few years later, i heard ever oasis actually referred to as a zelda-like for the first time and was like ? yeah sure i can try zelda games again now that i have more eye-hand coordination. so i tried botw again and it. sure was an experience.
i still haven't beaten botw. i loved having an open world to explore and the fun little side quests and shrines, but the main plot? i didn't learn how to target enemies until a few months ago from typing this. i got sidetracked, i could never tell if i was prepared enough to progress further because i was cheesing, running away from, and heal stalling everything, and knew if anything required any actual skill i was cooked. it just was sort of exhausting to play, and i had seen most of it through my brother's playthrough. not as much fun as i expected, but still cool.
then totk came out, and i got caught in the hype. i had a few games i could trade out for a discount on it at gamestop, and my brother just got his first job and was super exited to get it. i wouldn't have played if my brother hadn't gotten it and let me play. but totk truly was an experience.
the music and the exploration and the lead up to the dungeons, the layers to explore, the geoglyphs, it was all very cool. but it did wear on me. the world was so big, nothing i did felt very much like progression and i got lost and felt like i was losing important beats because i kept doing things out of order, the fuse system, everything that required building things but i couldn't tell what i was supposed to build or if i was supposed to build anything at all, just so many open ends everywhere, so many things to do all at once, "oh my god why would zelda do that" "demon king? secret stone?" well i would LOVE to tell you why but everything has to be able to be done in any order except for the way i do it, apparently??
and i haven't beat totk either. just keep spelunking. the caves and wells in here are just delightful, especially with ascend. the lore is immaculate, i just wish it was delivered a little differently. maybe totk could've been the zelda movie? idk, it's not worth dwelling on. go watch the skitty video on totk
and then i saw the eow trailer. i'm not exactly the toy art style's biggest fan, but playable zelda? a focus on using wisdom as your main tool instead of the courage to go running into a monster camp with a bunch of weapons that can break on you at any moment? it's being developed by grezzo, the same guys that made my beloved ever oasis, my first zelda-like and one of my favorite games ever? 👀 maybe i will check it out?
(i was planning on getting on release day but then there was an entire cat 5 hurricane decimating towns half an hour away from me. and then i was busy. and then it was time to try and think of stuff my family could get me for christmas. so it took a bit to get it, but i can avoid spoilers easy-peasy.)
so i check it out. it's fun and cute and silly, each of the stories in the regions are fun and resonate, the smaller world helps me keep track of where i am and why, who's who and what i need to help them with and why, but it still feels like exploring the entire time. and it is exactly what i wanted this whole time. it's been like 7 years and i finally got more of exactly what i wanted when i placed my faith in my brothers taste in games forever ago and was burned by getting the shit scared out of me by the gohma boss fight in oot.
and then i go to look at what other people have been saying about eow, because i've had to avoid doing that, and people are like "omg!!! what an amazing return to formula!!!" or "i love a return to the old formula, but i think this game sucks for other reasons!!!" and "why is eow so small and short? i want my sweeping landscapes alongside the traditional dungeons :/"
and. grips your shoulders. this is what the ENTIRE series is like? the entire loz series is all i want in a game. the dungeons, the fun item collecting, the neatly tied stories are what the ENTIRE SERIES IS LIKE. EXEPT THE TWO IVE ACTUALLY PLAYED. IVE BEEN LIED TO FOR SO LONG. maybe eow and ever oasis are just good because grezzo can cook. BUT THAT STILL MEANS THERES A WHOLE SERIES OF GAMES OF DUNGEONS AND MUSIC AND STORY THAT IVE IGNORED UNDER FALSE PRETENSES
i'm devastated. i have to mod my 3ds i have to go to the vault. i have to steal my brother's copy of oot 3ds to try again. how much have i missed out on because all i know is a rebellion against a time i wasn't alive to see. this is what people mean when time is a flat circle. this is why history repeats itself. no shit i didn't like botw/totk that much, it's building off of the backs of games that i mostly can't even play without dropping a few thousand bucks or pirating them. its meant to appeal to new players, sure, but it's also meant to give fresh new stuff to people who have played EVERY OTHER ZELDA GAME. it's probably building off the backs of earlier games with similar open world concepts that i also wouldn't have had the chance the play!!!!! because botw was one of my first video games that wasn't just a collection of mini games!!!!! what the fuck
i need an appropriate reaction image give me a minute

so now having seen sonic movie 3 twice i am now prepared to give my fuller opinion as an SA2 fanboy since age 9.
-it's good as a movie, good as a continuation of the first two, and good as a piece of sonic media. i actually enjoyed it much more on the 2nd watch, i think the 1st was ruined by my expectations not being met
-it is an okay adaptation of shadow's backstory, but deviates so significantly from what it usually is that it fundamentally changes some elements of shadow's character, and i don't like that.
-there are significant and not so significant things i would change but a lot of those would delve into spoiler territory. they have all of the necessary elements to make this a truly peak and unforgettable experience and missed out on some really easy moments that made me sad.
i will now proceed to detail a list of petty and inconsequential criticisms which don't really detract from the movie overall but i didn't like. this will include spoilers if you give a shit
-having the eggman tech for the breakout be a fakeout for gerald still being alive was actually a nice little touch but overall i still don't like the decision to have gerald be the "main villain" per se. you could really have tightened up the story and had the play of eggman realizing what his plan really was still be really impactful if you just kept to the original story. i also think gerald still being jim carrey as he does his final dramatic monologue would've been funnier than him just doing two jim carrey characters throughout the whole movie. AND the reveal that gerald's ultimate project was another hedgehog still wouldve been funny
-seriously, i find it super lame that they actually seem to be going in the direction that shadow's an alien. the walters is already not telling the whole truth, and i was expecting (because i know shadow's backstory) for that to also be a fakeout revealing that he was actually made in a lab (especially given the line "i don't remember my home"). maybe based on something else which fell to earth. or the master emerald.
-the biolizard wouldve been so cool cmon guys bring him out make him part of the fight
-they didn't harp nearly enough on shadow being the ultimate lifeform. shadow didn't even say it once.
-on the subject they didn't let shadow be a dork enough in this movie. "revenge guac" was good but a fundamental element to shadow's character is that despite being the coolest he is also a big nerd.
-i know i said these didnt detract from the movie but genuinely keanu reeves not shouting "CHAOS...CONTROL!" to teleport the eclipse cannon away from the earth when they had every opportunity AND HAVE BEEN USING CHAOS CONTROL THIS WHOLE MOVIE EVEN IF THEY DIDNT NAME IT is so lame. unironically bumps the movie's rating down for me.
-also despite having ample opportunity the entire film (two hedgehogs...two eggmen...) not one time does anyone say the word faker. eggman calls him an imposter but he should've called him a faker. like having this while also having sonic just offhandedly give the "talk about low budget flights!" line makes me feel like they really don't get sa2 and are just including a line from it because they have to.
-also if they had the biolizard they wouldve had the opportunity to have shadow shout "HERE I COME, YOU CREEP" which would've been lit as fuck.
-i'm glad they had live and learn but that cinematic cover sucked. fundamentally what makes live and learn work so well as a hype song and specifically as a sonic hype song is that it's heavy rock. IT SOUNDS DIRTY AS HELL AND THAT'S WHY IT FUCKING RULES
-i personally wouldve had eggman shout out "SAYONARA" as part of his farewell address as a little nod but that's just me
-as an aside, i know the entire point is that they all use chaos energy but having sonic figure out chaos control as part of the story wouldve been neat because that's kinda part of their entire story in sa2
