Winion!Elpenor X Lotus Eater!Perimedes

alright, this AU sounds weird, but IMAGINE. we already know that winions and lotus eaters are the same species. but imagine an AU where they are the souls of humans who didn't get a proper burial abd therefore couldn't go to the Underworld (yes, i'm completely disregarding the entire Underworld Saga, but LISTEN). and the Lotus Eaters are the former humans who were so addicted to lotus that even death couldn't free them from it.

IMAGINE, for a second, Elpenor, the Drunk Stargazer, forgotten by everyone. he wasn't missed, his death wasn't even noticed. and Aeolus' court is full of cheerful creatures, yet still no one pays any particular attention to him. he's free to do whatever he wants to - free as a wind, literally - but he has nowhere to go, no one who ever really cares about him. he flies to Ithaca to check on his family home, only to find that everyone had long since moved on.

IMAGINE Perimedes, Odysseus' most loyal follower, who had fallen under the thrall of lotus and had completely faded as a person, numbed until all he could comprehend were need and mindless pleasure. they had no choice but to leave him behind as a lost cause. and then he woke up, having had shred whatever humanity he'd still had - woke up and saw the trap for what it was, saw his former body rot to give nourishment to new lotus roots, and understood how hopelessly trapped he'd become.

IMAGINE Elpenor remembering the one person who had once sworn to always be by his side, and deciding to check up on Perimedes. Imagine them meeting after months, maybe years - and yet still instantly recognizing each other as soulmates do

Short lore: gods are Chronos' (maybe an important king of some sort?) escaped children, really just a chaotic bunch who stole a ship and are trying to survive with like 0 (zero) knowledge about the world and 0 (zero) skills

Don't worry about Telemachus btw, they just threw a spear at him randomly (miscommunication core) and it somehow managed to land (he's immortal he's fine)

I THINK they would get high like in the first 20 seconds of being on the lotus eaters' island. (pls appreciate Zeus having a crisis) (and that's Hestia btw)

Aaand of course this was an excuse to draw more posepoli. HEAR ME OUT. Polites as Calypso. HEAR ME ✋ With Odysseus it was like "stay with me, be my man, never go back to your wife" and with human!Poseidon it would be like "stay with me (respectful), be my man (respectful) and for the love of gods, please stop trying to murder everything you think even remotely hostile towards you"

Sure enough Polites will have some tragic backstory :'D

My thoughts on the paralyzed!Polites AU

(Which I really should do more research on; inspired by this)

Odysseus cries when Polites first wakes up

Eurylochus almost cries. Instead just let’s out a very shaky, relieved sigh and tells his friend “I’m glad you’re back”

his vision is messed with in that classic “Eye for an eye” vibe

His left arm is broken and yet he still insists on greeting the world with open arms

“Don’t you mean open arm?”

“You hush, Perimedes.”

So much survivor’s guilt but he’s very thankful to be alive and honors his fallen friends with Ody and everyone else

He basically can’t walk without help

Odysseus carves him a cane himself

It has a bunch of super cool details, including a winion

Polites adores it

(perhaps they go back to the Lotus Eater island and kidnap a winion for Polites? Like a comfort animal. Give Polites, my Disney Princess Pancake, a familiar plz)

But Polites needs a lot of help with things that require both arms or both legs or gods forbid all four

Odysseus carries Polites when the Cyclopes wakes up

he’s too busy thinking about getting him back to the ship and calling the best doctors from the 12 ships so he tells everyone to grab the sheep and HUSTLE

Athena grabs him and starts with her “HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN THE LESSONS I TAUGHT YOU? HE’S STILL A THRE-”

when they get home and our sunshine is actually properly long-term treated, Odysseus and Telemachus’s first big father-son bonding project is to make Polites’ house more accessible for him

and Telemachus fucking loves Polites. Best Uncle Award. They vibe so hard that Odysseus cries

he almost cries when Penelope starts weaving clothes that are easier for his friend to wear. He’s a tiinnyyy bit jealous but he’s still so happy. And Penelope noticed and weaves her dear husband some clothes too, all his old ones are stinky asf

Eurylochus and all Poli’s friends from the ship still visit regularly. It’s just a big happy family

Edit: Polites’ job when he gets back is a shepherd (thanks @wukyma for the idea, and the art they make of shepherd Polites is ADORABLE go check it out). He loves the fluffy lil clouds and their adorable sounds, even though sometimes his old wounds tingle on bad days around them. He tries not to remember that.

he likes just relaxing in the field with them, and sometimes Odysseus and Telemachus come hang on and they all just sit and talk and tell stories

Things to do with Jack and Maddie without them being abusive

As someone who actually likes Jack and Maddie as characters (I'm a fervent shipper of Maddie/Jack/Vlad), it's a real bummer to see so many people out there deciding that for their DPxDC AUs that Jack and Maddie are abusive, when that really doesn't represent how they are in canon. Now I fully acknowledge that doing this can be a very useful tool for telling certain types of stories, and if you want to make a story about recovering from abuse and finding a new found family, all the more power to you for that! But for any other type of story where them being abusive isn't necessary for the backstory of the story you want to tell... It's just a bummer to do that, y'know? If you don't want to tell a story with Jack and Maddie in it, that's entirely fine! I'm not asking you to. But there are ways to get rid of them without making them abusive or dying. Of the two, I personally would prefer them dying (I just like the story potential of that, especially as far as Vlad is concerned). But there are plenty of easy things to do with them to keep them out of the story that don't require them being abusive or dead! So I'm here to give a list of things that can happen to them (that have precedent within either Danny Phantom itself or the DC universe) that keep them out of the story that don't require much explanation as well as some other ideas for what you can do with them if you have no idea what to do with them otherwise.

Lots of ideas under the cut! (Feel free to take what you want. As always, credit is appreciated, but not necessary. But I would love to see what you do with it!)

If you need them permanently absent so that Danny can get adopted

Fell into the Ghost Zone and cannot be found.

They are gone for whatever reason and Jazz is currently Danny's legal guardian (she's 18 or older and is therefore a legal adult).

While in the Ghost Zone, they accidentally traveled through time/got transported somewhere where they can't get home easily.

They got severely Joker gassed and are in medical care. (This is actually what happened to Duke's parents!)

They got severely Scarecrow gassed and are in medical care.

Went insane for some supervillain-related reason and are now missing/in medical care.

They were kidnapped by a villain for some reason.

They were kidnapped by a villain and are currently in a lotus-eaters simulation and therefore don't even know that they've gone missing.

Abducted by aliens.

They got wrapped up in some supervillain bullshit and now have amnesia and are unable to recognize Danny and Jazz.

They got magicked into something that can't take care of Danny and Jazz.

They were experimented on and are now incapable of taking care of Danny and Jazz.

Some cosmic entity did a whoopsie that effected Jack and Maddie and now they're in a condition/situation where they cannot take care of Danny and Jazz.

Got arrested and are in jail for some reason.

Were arrested and sent to jail for a long time. Have since joined Task Force X/the Suicide Squad for lienency.

Got hit by a stray Zeta-Beam and are now on some alien planet.

They got teleported somehow. We aren't certain about the details.

They fell into a hole to another world.

They no-clipped out of their normal reality.

Stranded with no way home.

They somehow ended up on a different planet. They are just hanging out with Space Cabbie now, who is just having a ROUGH day and can't find Earth for whatever reason.

Inducted into a Lantern Corps and are VERY busy because of it!

Coma.

Effected by a debilitating illness/disease/condition that makes them incapable of taking care of others.

They were forced to go undercover for some reason and therefore vanished. (Letting their kids know is optional)

They were forced to go undercover for some reason and were forced to fake their deaths.

They died, but came back to life. Danny has not been informed of this.

They got possessed by a superhero or supervillain who just wandered off with their bodies.

They got separated following a disaster and haven't been able to find each other again.

They've been retconned to hell and back again to the point where no one is entirely certain where they are, what they're doing, or even if they're alive anymore. Don't worry about it! Only mention them when it's relevant and the rest of the time we aren't going to bother explaining what's going on with them. If they are mentioned, accounts of where they are and what's going on with them are contradictory.

They're around, but will go unseen throughout this story

Any of the situations in the previous section, but it only happened to one of the parents, and the other is just too busy working and taking care of the kids by themselves.

The same as previous, but they also moved to Gotham.

Retcon things so that the events of Danny Phantom actually happened in Gotham City all along. (Maybe Amity Park is like... A suburb in the greater Gotham area.)

They went on vacation/were hired for a job that would take them away from home. They left Danny and Jazz to be taken care of by Vlad. Vlad is an asshole, so they ran away from him.

They went on vacation/were hired for a job that would take them away from home, but now that Jazz is over 18, she's been left in charge.

Put into Witness Protection by the government/the Guys in White.

Danny and friends have graduated from high school and are now legal adults, perhaps in college.

Danny's whole family moved to Gotham City. They're just at home/working during the events of this story.

Jack and Maddie have been hired to do some work with the Justice League and need to be away from home for an extended period of time. They have left a member of the Justice League to take care of Danny and Jazz in the meantime.

Fieldtrip/school trip to Gotham City.

Danny is old and responsible enough that Jack and Maddie trust Danny (and/or Jazz) to travel on their own. His parents are just a call away if he needs help.

Jack and Maddie are separated for whatever reason (one went missing/one is working abroad/they are divorced/one died) and the other moved to Gotham and is taking care of the kids in the meantime, but is busy and so will not appear.

Something happened to Fenton Works and the family needs to temporarily stay somewhere else while the problem with Fenton Works is sorted.

The family was driven out of town and they ran off to Gotham to escape the angry mob. (Or at least to wait until things cool down again.)

Jack or Maddie are able to work remotely and so they've moved to Gotham to do so. The kids came along/are visiting.

Jack and/or Maddie were hired for temporary work in Gotham and decided to bring the kids along.

One family member was taken to Arkham Asylum. They moved to Gotham to be closer.

Jazz went to Gotham for college. Danny is visiting.

Danny is sent to Gotham/Arkham for specialized health reasons.

Jack and Maddie have gotten in contact with a specialist that lives in Gotham and are visiting for work-related reasons.

They are on vacation in Gotham and brought the kids along. Danny and Jazz have been let off the leash to go where they want while Jack and Maddie do touristy stuff.

Visiting family/family friends living in Gotham.

They were passing through but are now unable to leave. (Bonus points if it's a No Man's Land situation.)

They were passing through, but were robbed. Jack and Maddie are dealing with the robbery stuff where Danny is off somewhere else.

They were just passing through, but Maddie and Jack got SEVERELY distracted by something and have run off to who knows where!

They are traveling with Vlad and expected Vlad to take care of and watch the kids!

Danny was abducted to Gotham.

Danny accidently ended up in Gotham somehow.

Danny somehow got transported/teleported to Gotham.

Doing an educational trip/apprenticeship/internship over in Gotham.

Danny ran away impulsively.

Some villain threatened Danny's family and forced him to run away from home.

Danny has revealed his secret to his parents, and while they might worry about Danny being a vigilante, believe in and trust Danny to do the right thing and allow him to do what he feels that he must to protect people.

The same as above, but Vlad also came out and is supervising.

They died.

I cannot understate the sheer JUICY storytelling potential that you can have by killing Jack and Maddie off! We already know how it might effect people and events from what we see in The Ultimate Enemy, but there really is limitless potential in terms of ways to twist, turn, and play with things to have different outcomes! Additionally, Jack and Maddie being genuinely good parents that die protecting Danny and Jazz offers lots of ways for Bruce to relate to Danny and Jazz! (He decided to become Batman so that no one would have to face what he did ever again... And he failed...) And the way that they die can offer some lovely different flavors of angst, coping mechanisms, motovations, and learning to deal with their loss. So here are some ideas for how to kill them off!

The universe exploded again, and when it was put back together, Jack and Maddie ceased to exist in current canon continuity. (This happens more often than you'd think.)

Vlad Wins.

They were killed in an apocalypse-level event.

They were killed in the crossfire of some superhero/supervillain fight.

They were taken by some villain. They were killed before the heroes could arrive.

They were killed in a random act of violence/crime. (Much like Batman's backstory. Do this to gain extra points from Bruce.)

Died in prison/after joining the Suicide Squad.

Gang violence.

Any of the previous but Gotham is just THAT dangerous!

Same as any gassing or supervillain plan, but they died instead of being missing or in medical care.

Got transported to a place where they died very far away from home.

They just died suddenly or because of an accident. It happens sometimes.

Things to note

Believe it or not, but your parents can still be in your life AND you can join the Batfamily AT THE SAME TIME! :D

Examples:

Barbra Gordon is very much in the Batfamily and both of her parents are alive and well. She's a very important part of the family, and in the comics, it is not uncommon to see her calling up her dad and talking to him! They'll even call each other if they need help with something. This does not take away from the fatherly role Bruce often has in her life. (She can have 2 dads and good for her for that!)

When Tim initially became Robin, his parents were alive and well. They would later die because comic writers are just like that, but being an orphan without loving parents in your life is not a prerequisite to being Robin.

Duke's parents are also alive! They are under the effects of Joker toxin, but they are alive, and if they ever find a cure for it, I imagine that they would be more than happy to have Duke back in their lives!

Terry from Batman Beyond is not an orphan and was taken under Bruce's wing to be the next Batman! Terry is even going to inherit a fair amount of Bruce's wealth for deciding to take on the responsibility of being Batman. But while his dad did die, his mom is still alive and well over the course of the series! And he has a little brother too! Terry may still be a teenager, but he is a bit of a breadwinner for his household while also still being an important part of Bruce's family. (He is often someone who helps Bruce take care of himself.)

But if the story you truly want to explore requires being adopted specifically... Well... You don't have to be a kid to be adopted! Jack and Maddie can still raise Danny and Jazz into adults and Bruce is able to adopt them later if he wants, once they have been well and established in his family! Hell, you don't even have to wait! As long as Bruce asks permission from Jack and Maddie, they can be alive AND he can adopt Danny! There is more than one way to be in a family, you know! And sometimes it takes a village! And really, would Jack and Maddie really object to Danny being adopted by billionaire Bruce Wayne, especially if Danny really is enjoying his time being a part of his family and if Bruce has been an absolutely lovely person to them whenever he visits?

AOS, AU Canon-Divergence. Spock, Kirk and the other valiant members of the Emergency Personnel Ambulance Service fight to save lives and turn the tide of the ongoing war against Nero and his fleet before it’s too late. Such a beautiful slow burn for Spock and Kirk.

Atlas by distractedKat Words: 135,529

AOS. Follow on from 2009, Kirk, Spock and the rest deal with the aftermath of Nero’s attack and rebuilding after the decimation of the ‘Fleet and Academy. An exciting tale with twists and turns involving black ops, bad-mirals, action, love and fierce loyalty.

SNW. A phenomenal Spirk fic in which Kirk is stuck in Spock's mind while the crew work to find a way to retrieve his body. A wonderful getting to know you/falling for you hard tale. Wonderfully written and highly entertaining.

Evolution by Rhaegal (RhaegalKS) Words: 149,293

AOS. Covering the first year of their 5 year mission, this is totally flawless. The character voices are perfection, the prose spectacular. The whole thing plays like an AOS movie. It’s phenomenal.

Emotions by LadyRa Words: 35,569

TOS. Spock gets drugged on a shore leave and is overwhelmed with its effects. Kirk tries to pick up the pieces. A beautiful, and wonderfully grounded, story of realising how much they mean to each other.

And When the Bond Breaks by LadyRa Words: 24,631

TOS. Spock takes out a shuttle to investigate an anomaly and returns to an Enterprise that’s not his own. Time travel shenanigans with such emotional depth that it will traumatise you in the best way. Stunningly good!

All Our Tomorrows Come Today by flippyspoon Words: 18,156 @flippyspoon

SNW. A newly introduced Jim and Spock accidentally get a glimpse into the future and see what they’re going to be to each other (a.k.a. Spirk’s Greatest Hits). A stunningly told story about finding the great love of your life.

SNW/TOS. An epic story detailing Spock and Kirk’s love throughout their lives, beginning from their meeting on Pike’s Enterprise (SNW) and continuing on to an eventual  Generations fix-it happy ending. Wonderful!

SNW/TOS. Timeline shenanigans, spies, twists & turns, pining, angst, sacrifice and so so much love!

The 1,000 Hour Sleep by spqr Words: 27,227

SNW. Jim’s been infected with a pathogen that means he can’t sleep, but it he doesn’t he’ll die. Cue Spock and his Vulcan telepathy helping Jim to achieve the sleep he needs, while they get to know each other within their shared mindscapes. A sweet and exciting story about falling in love and overcoming your own inner demons.

First Best Destiny by Ophelia_j Words: 387,733

TOS/TNG. Such a very special fic. Epic in its scope, it covers the entire timeline of Spirk from their very first meeting through to a  clever and satisfying Generations fix-it ending. It provides extra scenes, additional dialogue and internal monologues to expand on existing canon in a really compelling and effective way. Truly this is my new TOS canon.

The Steadfastness of Stars by itsnatalie Words: 61,566

AOS. After Beyond, The crew investigate sudden climate change on a frozen planet and find more than they bargained for. The perfect mix of great plot, fun original characters, action, mystery, world building and deep deep love.

Let Forever Be by gunstreet Words: 43,446 @gunstreet

TOS. A really compelling character study of James T. Kirk. An excellent companion piece to City on the Edge of Forever. Exploring what Jim and Spock got up to, and all they had to overcome, while trying to find Bones and their way back home.

Time After Time by spaceisgay (ChancellorGriffin) Words: 138,921

SNW. Kirk spends a 6 month rotation on the Enterprise as part of his command training. OK, if there’s a favourite of my favourites then this may be it. It’s such a stunning version of their love story, with a beautifully constructed plot. It runs the emotional gamut from moments that will have you laughing out loud to moments that will have you in floods of tears. 

milk and honey by spaceisgay (ChancellorGriffin) Words: 28,651

SNW. Kirk and Spock meet for the first time when they wake up in a prison cell together. A really fun, and extremely clever, version of the ‘aliens made them do it’ trope. It’s intriguing and funny with a real depth of feeling throughout.

The Promised Land by gunstreet Words: 58,260 @gunstreet

TOS. A story that explores the time Jim and Spock spent apart between the end of the 5 year mission and TMP. It’s a beautiful story of reunion and renewal of love. Sometimes achingly sad, but it’s worth it for the happy ending.

Its with their light, their strength, their song, my friends, they show me right and wrong

Polites likes the pod.

Sure, he misses Eury and Odysseus and everyone else horribly, and would give almost anything to be back with them, but the pod are nice.

Epolenep reminds him of Penelope, she acts all frowny and strict, but when she thinks no one's watching she will smile fondly at her friends. She acts like an older sister to everyone, and laughs easily. Shes a brilliant fighter, and has been teaching him to help him get used to being a siren, and she has a beautiful voice. She is a bright soul, very stubborn, and a born leader.

Alope actually reminds Polites of himself before he went to war. A brilliant smile and laugh, incredibly optimistic and fun. Shes best friends with everyone, and it's impossible not to like her. Polites soon finds out that her and Cleito are together, much to Alope's delight, and Cleito's immense embarrassment.

Cleito, on the other hand, is fierce, and is the only one that can match Epolenep's skills and air of command, she could lead the pod just as easily, she just doesn't care to have that amount of responsibility. She's also quiet, and Polites found her quite scary before he realised how kind she is beneath her spiky outer shell of defence.

Hyacinthus is bubbly. Polites can understand why more than one god fell for him. He's always laughing and cracking jokes and playing games and challenging the others to races and such. He loves dragging Polites along to point out some bright piece of coral or some cool creature. He picked Polites back up when he started to spiral into his thoughts of the war and the cyclops and how its his fault- his fault- Polites learnt how Odysseus must have felt that day on the Lotus eater's island, when Hyacinthus dragged him along, laughing and showed him just how beautiful the world can be. (Polites will never forget that day in the sun-lit kelp forest.)

And Patroclus is Patroclus. Hes still the kind man that saved Polites' life that time in the war, and proceeded to teach him healing, and proper fighting, with a level of patience for him that the other men in the camp didn't have. He still has that comforting kindness and patience, and quiet smile, but he carries a deep sadness with him now, one that Polites recognises.

One that is appearing in Polites the longer he stays here. One that even Hyacinthus doesn't try to fix.

He knows that for Patroclus it is the knowledge that Achilles is dead. And Polites does not know what has happened to Eurylochus.

Alope tells him they're probably home, and that she bets she could persuade Epolenep to let them take a journey to Ithaca. Polites falls quiet at each mention of Ithaca, and Cleito usually tells her partner no, shooting Polites knowing looks. He wonders what her past is.

The pod goes out on hunts sometimes, always led by Epolenep and Cleito, hungry looks in their eyes. They've never taken Polites with them before, but after a year or so, he gets restless.

Patroclus grins at him when they finally decide to take him along, and Polites grins back. He's hungry.

It's just a small fishing ship that has wandered into their waters, just enough people for him and each of his new friends to have one each.

He isn't Polites in those moments when he digs deep into the man's mind, pulling up images of a wife and three little girls, he isn't Polites when he lets his instincts take over, and his body changes. He isn't Polites when he sings the man with a wife and three girls waiting for him back home into the water to drown him. He isn't Polites when he feasts on human flesh alongside his pod, victory and the thrill of the hunt running through his veins.

The next time they go out hunting, they take most of the pod, leaving only the youngest of the sirens and a few adults behind. Epolenep has counted the men aboard this ship, and picked out fourty-three sirens to accompany her. She will take down the ship's captain.

Polites wonders what form he will take this time, wonders what song he will sing.

(He did not know that he would not change, that the song he will sing is his own.)

So a while ago Jorge talked about scrapped ideas for epic and one of them was Telemachus and Athena going to the lotus eater Island and um! Oops AU spawned!

Basically after killing Pallas, Athena runs away and stumbles upon the lotus eater island, unaware of what the fruit does, she eats some out of curiosity and well, the lotus fruit does what it does and Athena stays there for centuries and the world slowly forgets about the goddess of wisdom and none of the other gods really bothered looking for her after she killed Pallas

Que many years later, Odysseus and Polites finding her when they visit the island and upon seeing a human there (as I’m going off of Epic’s depictions of the lotus eaters being little creatures) polites is like, “hm no we can’t leave her here!” And so they take her with them and it takes a while (not as long as it would for humans bc god powers) she sobers up from the lotus fruit! Yippee! Probably is….who was she again? She spent so long on that island with the lotus eaters she….doesn’t quite remember anything about her time before the island she can’t even remember her name….she thinks it was Pallas though…she does remember that name as it felt important to her! So she dubs herself with the name Pallas! She also can’t remember that she’s a goddess, she had no need to use her god powers well on the island so….she just forgot about it like she did her name

Also in this AU Ares is ody’s mentor instead of Athena :D

Oh also imagine she remembers her Mom first but doesn't remember she's dead 😭 Or she ends up being convinced her father must have been connected to water, so when the god thing comes out she guesses it's Poseidon and Ares is like fuck bc he took on the family drama with Poseidon (he won the fight on Sparta but Poseidon has Athens)

Oh and with the cyclops imagine she has a spear close by she could save herself with but she freezes up and doesn't take it cos trauma

But as soon as she has a sword in her hand she's a great fighter purely on instinct. (She can save Polites if we wanna be wholesome about it)

Usually I just steal headcanons for my ships from other people but like I'm the ceo of eurypoli I wanted to make some, so here are some eurypoli headcanons!

-They started dating before troy.

-Ctimene knows about their relationship and is ok with it, she even gets along with Polites very well, Eury has two hands for something.

-Odysseus was going to kill Eurylochus until they explained to him that Ctimene was allowing it and it wasn't cheating.

-At first they tried to keep their relationship a secret to avoid questions from the crew and reactions like Ody's but Polites was completely incapable of acting like he wasn't in love with Eurylochus so they dropped the secret after a while.

-Polites always thinks Eurylochus looks super cool no matter what he is doing and Eurylochus always thinks Polites looks gorgeous no matter what he is doing.

-Both love seeing other sides of each other, Polites loves when Eurylochus acts sweet and Eurylochus loves when Polites acts more serious, specially during battles.

-Polites likes gifting things to Eurylochus so he was planning of searching something for him every time they stopped at an island, he didn't last enough to do this so Eurylochus only has what Polites gave him from the island of the lotus eaters.

-Eurylochus loved Polites' optimism but he was always worried that something would happen to him.

-Eurylochus was REALLY mad that Odysseus threw Polites' headband away during the underworld (don't worry guys, eury picks up the headband, it's not lost).

-while Odysseus was talking to the prophet the crew was comforting Eurylochus because seeing Polites in the underworld affected him a lot.

-ghost au thing: no matter how much everyone, including Polites, told him it wasn't healthy, Eurylochus' sleeping schedule got absolutely wrecked after he discovered Polites was more visible during the night, after a while he was convinced to fix it.

-Polites loves cuddling with Eurylochus.

-Polites also loves asking Eurylochus to pick him up.

-Polites is the only other person that can lift The strongest of Same, not because he is specially strong, is just that he is the only one Eurylochus allows to.

-Polites is great at baking, Eurylochus is great at cooking.

This is a very cool question! Allow us to link a previous ask from @chaosroid as supplementary reading for this topic… because the symbolism of the Triple Goddess, Hecate, a symbolic gatekeeper, can definitely be applied to the Lotuses through the "Judge, Jury, Executioner" triad.

i'll b honest: i had to look up the difference between judge and jury before answering this HAHAHA. but here are the things that come to mind!

Natah as the Judge is literally referenced in her Ropalolyst Monologue! "I am the victim. The witness. The judge. My family has returned. Your trial, soon to begin." You may be onto something here!

In the context of legality, Natah being the Judge fits her title of the Great Sentient Queen. One would expect the Judge to be the practical, logical voice with most comprehensive knowledge of the law, and the Queen to be the law-maker. A very formidable and terrifying combo if you know at all how this kind of power gets abused…

In the courtroom, the Judge appears to be the Big Boss. The one in charge. Out of the three Space Mom titles (Tenno Leader, Archimedean, Sentient Queen), Natah easily has the highest ranking one. It's a decent parallel imo!

Margulis as the Jury has a sweet irony to it, considering that she was executed in front of the Seven. "Seven hands raised!" was one of the last things she heard before her death…

Being an Archimedean slash Scientist slash Scholar, she may be the Space Mom with the most experience, or maybe affinity, in the kinds of high-stakes discussions a jury gets involved in. Out of the three I can definitely imagine that Margulis is the most at ease in an environment like this. If she's not at ease, well, at least she can carry herself well enough through it.

Lotus as the Executioner reminds me of the Prelude to War flashback, where she directly leads and commands a group of (Void-eyed) Tenno to blast a sick lazer at Erra. In this cutscene, it's implied she has a concerning degree of control over the Tenno, and it does bring to mind the imagery of her using them as a mere killing tool.

By this regard, there is an irony to the Executioner!Lotus idea too. She was programmed/brainwashed to be the obedient, submissive tool for the Orokin to use. It's like an axe becoming a wielder. Maybe to a smaller less sentient axe. or something. idk. u get what i mean lol

that's all i got for now! but In summary: DAMN. i think the symbolism is very much there. ripe for the taking when we're talking "future of the Lotus" speculation. very good find, anon!

When Odysseus' half baked apology doesn't work Poli steps in,,, let's say Poseidon is intrigued and proposes an interesting deal (mostly because he wants to see them fail miserably and maybe amuse himself in the process)

Why Calypso is an Oc

The main reason behind this is because that Circe is the most sexualized character in the show. She had a song dedicated to seducing someone.
