#I DON'T EVEN CONSIDER MYSELF AS A GOOD AND CONSISTENT CREATOR

hi, i'm not the person who asked you about the life update, but could you elaborate on how being a creator means to live in a world of ideas instead of the real world? i'm just really curious about your reasons for quitting, specially because i want to create things in the future (not necessarily streaming, but anyways), hope you have a good day!
i'll be talking mostly about streaming for the sake of this answer, but this is similarly applicable across a wide range of platforms:
the job of the streamer is, effectively, to be the life of the party every single day. your goal is to be the person that has something interesting to talk about, and is quick with a joke, and has nuanced understandings of certain things, without actually obtaining any sort of "expertise" in anything lest you alienate viewers. short of having a stated goal for a stream, the only goal of the streamer is to let people relax with a voice they enjoy, saying things they like hearing. you can become very strong in different aspects of streaming, like in the production, or as someone who focuses more on a skill they've honed like art or speedrunning, but the demographic of streamers which pulls, by far, the most significant viewership, is personality based streamers.
this becomes more complicated when, for example, you are very interactive with chat, or you stream with multiple people at once. now, to maintain this charismatic sway you have (the one that got you the job in the first place), you must be able to adapt to and bounce off of other people, as you are now no longer performing alone. naturally, there's a need to not only manage your own flow of consciousness, but also to be at least partially in sync with someone else's.
beyond these complications, you must also consider drawing in new viewership. when i was a streamer, i was quite successful, relatively speaking. pulling 300 viewers consistently is something a very slim amount of streamers can actually do, and even then i was still making under 50k a year, which is not bad, but also not good. in paying for my apartment, my insurance, my travel fare, and all the other stuff that living independently draws money out of you with, i was more often in the red than i was in the green. hence, the need to draw in new viewers, which cannot be done without something eye-catching.
think about this: there are, at any given time, TENS OF THOUSANDS of streamers live in your native language on twitch, and they are all FREE TO WATCH. the attention market is sparse because the streamer market is oversaturated. and considering all of THEM want new viewers too, everyone is constantly refining and improving their craft, which requires everyone to move creatively in tandem with each other lest they get left behind.
if you are a streamer making ass-dollars and ass-cents, it becomes easy to begin resenting people like jerma, solely because everything he touches seems to turn to gold. i personally found it easy to feel very disappointed in myself when peoples projects that seemed so simple would take off. it was a constant "why didn't i think of that!" situation, at least for me. and when you don't have the energy to keep that up, or the social stamina necessary to figure that all out while also being upbeat and happy in front of people near daily, it can become very draining.
what i mean specifically when i say the "world of ideas", is like. there would be times where i could schedule out my failures weeks in advance. i'd be so in my own head about the process, i could see the exact path i could see myself taking that would lead me directly to ruin. how playing games i actually enjoyed would steadily drop viewership, or how focusing on my studies would make people forget about me. and of course this is augmented by my anxiety, i know this is absolutely not the case for every streamer, but that overwhelming feeling of needing to find a new game to play, or a new gimmick to use, or a new ploy to get money that doesn't make you feel guilty even though your source of income is mostly queer and mostly poor young adults and your rent is coming up and you're $200 short but you also just had a fundraiser last month about a DIFFERENT emergency but you cant make it a bummer or else people wont want to tune in so you have to make it something fun like "you laugh you lose!" or "$1 art request streams!" while feeling nothing but anxiety while youre trying to sound like youre enjoying yourself even when youre asking 250 people to donate every 30 minutes or so and nobody seems to want to and chat is moving slowly and. and and.
well, it starts to eat away at you.

organization 101
organization is about how we gather stimuli in our environment to complete tasks quickly and more effectively. it's about arranging our surroundings, providing order, and structuring items and activities around us.
this topic can be applied in so many instances - including physical spaces, digital files, schedules, and mental clarity.
staying organized offers several benefits:
★ when you're organized, you waste less time searching for things or figuring out what to do next. this efficiency leads to increased productivity
★ clutter and chaos can contribute to stress. an organized environment promotes a sense of calm and control.
★ organization helps you allocate time effectively. you can prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.
★ a clutter-free workspace (or living space) allows you to concentrate better on the task at hand.
★ organized spaces encourage healthier habits, such as regular exercise, balanced meals, and adequate rest.
but how can you stay organized?
★ start with one area of focus (e.g. closet, desk, documents, ...) and gradually expand. focusing on one area allows you to see tangible progress, and as you declutter or organize, you'll build momentum to tackle other spaces.
trying to organize everything at once can be overwhelming. by narrowing your focus, you can prevent feeling swamped. concentrating on a specific area also allows you to learn effective strategies,, which you can apply to other parts of your life!
★ keep a to-do list. you can use a planner or digital tools to track tasks - and prioritize and sort tasks by urgency. write things down promptly to avoid forgetting them.
by freeing your mind from trying to remember all of your tasks, this mental offloading allows you to focus on the present moment. you can also assign urgency and importance, ensuring you will tackle what matters most.
★ give everything a home. clutter happens when items lack designated spaces. organize your physical and digital spaces intentionally.
★ once organized, maintain order consistently by building habits and systems. regularly review and adjust your systems when needed.
maintaining daily habits can significantly contribute to staying organized.
digital files
personally, the biggest issue i have with organization is building (and maintaining) a good system for digital files. it is crucial for me to learn how to organize these well, however, as a digital creator.
here is the process:
★ create a folder structure,, and design a clear hierarchy of folders that reflect your workflow. organize files logically based on projects, departments, dates, or file types.
at the moment i sort my files as content home < links, content plan, instagram, pinterest, tumblr, youtube < scheduling, post ideas
however, sometimes i find myself with documents that don't fit any of these sections. my plan for the future is to reorganize this to be the most effective it can.
★ use descriptive file names,, and name files clearly and concisely. include relevant keywords to make searching easier
★ consider using tags to categorize files across multiple dimensions. tags enhance searchability and allow flexible organization.
this is something that i am looking to employ!
★ utilize cloud services like google drive or dropbox for easy access from anywhere.
i will forever be a notion girl,, even though it is not quite a cloud service, it allows me a similar experience.
★ make decluttering a routine. delete duplicate or unnecessary files.
★ pin essential folders to your sidebar for quick access.
physical decluttering
writing this, i was reminded of the (horrid) bedrotting trend, especially those videos where people would show their rooms with shit everywhere and mould growing on stuff. i'm aware that some people find it super hard to maintain organization or declutter - hoarding is a very real issue.
the benefits of staying organized were previously mentioned, but decluttering specifically has its own little set of positives. this includes reduced stress, improved focus, enhanced productivity, and more positive overall wellbeing.
here are some essential tips if you are struggling to get started:
choose a small area or category to begin decluttering. set a timer (15-30 minutes) and sort items in that area into 'keep', 'donate', 'trash', or 'unsure' piles.
you could also attempt a room-by-room approach, by tackling one room at a time. focus on completing each room fully before moving on to the next.
try to organize your belongings into categories (keep, donate, sell, discard) to make decisions easier.
remember - progress comes from consistent effort, and small steps lead to a clutter-free space.

Webcomic interview
How did you get into making webcomics?
I just jumped in expecting to make a few chapters and it turned into multiple years of my life.
Consider drawing Short comics about ideas and throw them out there. My current official webtoons were short comics that I posted inconsistently in between other projects. They eventually got their own following.
Who inspires you?
I was very inspired by the comics I saw on early comic sharing platforms. Opening my mind up to self-published comics made me realize the possibilities beyond mainstream works.
Erri Pi on webtoon canvas is one of those early creators I felt inspired by.
I am also what I would call ‘anti-inspired’. There are many very common tropes that turn me off from media, so when I write, I love to subvert the expectations of those tropes.
What are the best and worst aspects of your work?
The best aspect is creating my own story with full control and allowing it to write itself. I do not find myself getting hung up on the constant lore and rules and history of the work. I just write and allow natural progression. I consider myself an artist over author but you find yourself focusing less on art to make sure the story is good. If the story sucks, nobody will care about the art.
This makes the worst aspect also writing. It takes a long time letting words come to you and it takes more energy than the drawing.
What is the most important thing people should know about when working in the webcomic industry?
Whether it be today's financial climate or how much artists are undervalued, it is still brutal. You have to work fast. It is the only way I've been able to continue a social life, paycheck, and sleep. Learn to only put 30% effort into your comic art. Seriously. As you develop a consistent schedule and style, you will know when to put more effort. You will know.
I understand you created multiple series on and outside of Webtoon. What did you learn from those experiences?
For works like comedy, less is more. You don't need to have more than 4-6 panels to set up and execute a punch line. Sometimes you need even less. Also make sure your jokes are specific to your comic and characters. If any other characters are able to tell your jokes, your comic will become stale fast.
For romance, I've just learned to write what I would like to see more often. I don't care for lots of emotional and relationship mismanagement and it seems like many other people have agreed. So if you want it, chances are, a lot of other people want it as well.
What is your advice for someone planning to enter this industry?
Draw a lot. Write down all of your ideas. Come back to them. Just start drawing one. You learn so much by just doing it and realizing how things look on the page. Simplify the idea. Don't start off with a huge project. Just gesture a 10-page story in a sketchbook. Comics are a language.
The industry can be as professional as working with a publisher, or as casual as having a following on Patreon or social media to fund your work. Both require being fast and able to speak this language.

"Why are artists so butthurt about AI art? Horse carriage drivers didn't complain when they invented the car, they were just grateful that the technology evolved and made it easier to get around."
Art is not a carriage, it's not a vehicle. Its purpose is not to be efficient, to do a practical job with as little effort as possible. Art is not something that can be automated, because its artistry lies in the humanity of its creator. Art is wonderful, from a baby's first drawing, inexperienced and unskilled, to the paintings adorning the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
If you consider yourself an AI artist, I ask you: are you proud of yourself when the computer has completed another image that you will claim as yours? Do you look at it and feel the joy of having created something?
Does the generative process teach you how to see the world better? With every image created, do you evolve? Do you understand the planes of the face better now than 1000 images ago? Do you know what rim light is, and where to put it? Do you understand light sources? Tones? Could you take a piece of paper and shade a portrait by yourself?
"AI software is just like Photoshop or Blender, the next step in artistic technology".
It's not though, is it? A digital artist uses a pen to put colors on screen, chooses where to put each brush stroke, when to smudge or use the liquify tool. A 3D sculptor manipulates basic shapes into characters just like a traditional artist molds clay. An AI "artist" doesn't make any of the thousands of choices that lead to the creation of a real piece of art.
"But art is hard, and I'm not good enough."
Neither am I! Man, I'm not the worst artist in the world, but I'm not great, still not at the level I would like to be. Sometimes I draw something and I look at it and realize that it sucks ass! Sometimes I post a drawing online and realize that I drew a character out of proportion, that the light source is not consistent, that I've shaded outside the lines! And you know what's great? That I get to have an understanding of what I did wrong! I get to evolve! I redraw something from 5 years ago and realize that my composition is much better, my shading more believable. And I know that in 5 more years, I might redraw it again and pride myself in how much I've evolved.
I've been drawing since I was a baby, and I still have a long way to go. And that is also fine, because art is a lifelong pursuit, growing, changing, just as I am.
It's okay to not be good. Hell, it's okay if you don't even try to get better. By drawing, you WILL. It's inevitable that, by practicing, you'll learn.
You know what will not make you a better artist? Software that will generate your "art" for you. The result might look more complex than what your skill level allows you to create right now. But it doesn't look better. You could draw a crooked circle on xerox paper and it will look better than all the AI art in the world. Because you made it. Have some faith in yourself. Your vision has more artistic value than what that computer generated.
"If you're afraid that AI will steal your job, learn to draw better!"
I'm trying. Are you?

Have you seen the Webtoon "Working with an Editor" Video? I feel like this explains a lot of how the platform's Originals end up in the states that they do. Based on that vid, it seems their editors are less the developmental or copy types, and more acquisitions and managerial focused. Which explains how some series have "an editor" for editorial oversight, while not being what readers would consider "edited".
Tumblr media
oh there are... definitely things about the editors I can tell you based on what I've read and even been told directly by some Originals creators (obviously their names are going to remain anonymous here lol) Before I go into it, every editor and every contract is different, I have no way of actually knowing what goes on behind the scenes due to not being an Originals creator myself, so please take what I'm about to say with mountains of salt as much of it was either learned secondhand through creator AMA's and at best, firsthand through anonymous Originals creators who I've communicated directly with. Ultimately you should be getting your facts from the creators who actually speak up on this matter, not me.
1.) WT has a VERY small pool of editors who are currently being stretched incredibly thin. Bre Boswell, as an example, currently oversees 20+ comics, including Lore Olympus (though not anymore haha), Nevermore, The Kiss Bet, Down to Earth, and Castle Swimmer. She is not the only one with this big of a workload. Obviously with one person having to oversee this many series at once, it's virtually impossible for them to do the actual "editing" part of their jobs, even if they genuinely want to.
2.) The role of WT editor isn't the same as a traditional editor - many of them are simply liasons between creators and Webtoons, meaning any questions creators have about their schedules, salaries, etc. are directed to their editors who then contact WT on their behalf and relay the response back to the creators. The bare minimum requirement for their job seems to be just making sure that creators are following terms of services. The traditional role of editing - proofreading, offering advice and storytelling tweaks, etc. - seems to be entirely optional and dependent on how much time the editor can devote to the series (see #1) + how much creative input the creator is willing to accept.
3.) With how low WT's standards are and how overworked a lot of editors have become, many editors actually stop reading their respective comics after the first few episodes once they're confident that the creator can handle the series on their own without needing check-ups that they're following ToS. So in that respect they truly do just become messenger owls between the creators and WT (and IIRC creators send their episodes to their editors to upload, they don't do it manually themselves). This is also why there are webtoons that share the same editor but differ greatly in quality of writing and art - how well a webtoon is written and drawn is often entirely dependent on the creators making it (it's why Nevermore manages to be so consistently good despite having the same editor as Lore Olympus which is consistently awful lmao).
As an added little thing, I will not say who, but there is a specific editor who... often gets a looot of special treatment from WT, from what I've been told and heard. A lot of their series get away with way more than what others do and get a lot more advertising privileges.
Tumblr media
(and no, it's actually not Bre LOL from what I've been told Bre is actually a very sweet person who's very chill to work with haha)

Hi! I'm trying to include autistic and/or ADHD characters in my stories but I'm afraid I'm not doing a good job. I'm neurotypical, so I fear I might find myself using stereotypes and that's not my intention. Do you have any tips? Thank you in advance, have a nice day!
Ok, so personally I have a lot of trouble coming up with advice for auDHD (autism + ADHD) because, well, the spectrum of experience is so large and there isn't a lot of consistency within the community in regards to what is considered good representation vs just stereotypes. There's a few outliers, like every one I know has agreed Sia's movie "Music" is offensively bad lol, but pretty much everything else I can think of is less clear cut. Generally though, if you want examples of media portrayals of autism done well, avoid anything from or connected to Autism Speaks. They are not a reliable source.
I only really have 3 suggestions:
decide what level of support your character needs. Support needs for autism are variable and they can fluctuate throughout a person's life, but typically, people will fit into one of 3 categories. In Australia it's Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 with Level 1 is defined as generally being low-support needs, and level 3 being generally very high support needs. Of course, it's a spectrum, so there's massive amounts of variably person-to-person, but as an author, it can be a good idea to pick one of the levels, because you'll typically find more specific information about how autism will present.
Find content creators (as in multiple) with both Autism and ADHD. It's a good idea to listen to the community directly, but when you're writing an AuDHD character in particular, you do need to be aware that those autism and ADHD can play into one another or in some cases, can cancel some traits of each other out (kind of). But it'll be different from person to person. They are very distinct disabilities, but they have some unusual interactions it's vital to be aware of. Ideally, you'll also want to try find auDHD people in the same age range and who are the same gender as your character. Different generations and age groups will treat AuDHD differently, and while It's not a hard and fast thing, both autism and ADHD manifest differently in men and women because of how we are socialized and raised (this applies to trans and nonbinary people too, they'll typically take on traits associated with the gender they were usually raised as, but not always. Personally, I showed a mix of both, but my traits do align more with the typical presentation of AuDHD in girls). Just a little side note, not every person creating content about Autism/ADHD is open to working with authors. Find content creators, listen to them, but don't ask them about your character specifically unless they have stated somewhere that they're open to helping with that kind of thing.
Find sensitivity readers and sensitivity consultants for autism and ADHD. A sensitivity reader goes over your manuscript once the draft is done, but consultants help you from even earlier on in the process. If you're worried about not doing the community justice, this is the best way to go. People online like myself can offer generalized advice, but SR's and SC's will be able to go much more in-depth with you and help you fix moment-to-moment issues in your story.
Some additional things to be mindful of as well when looking up further resources:
Both Autism and ADHD can make it difficult to regulate tone and emotion. This means you are likely going to get information from the community at some point that might not be easy to hear and you're not going to like how its presented to you lol. They're going to be blunt and maybe even "rude". It's not personal (usually lol) but don't expect everyone to be polite, and don't only take criticism from those who are. Tone and emotional regulation is literally a part of both disabilities for a lot of us, and this is a topic a lot of us have strong feelings about to begin with.
I mentioned it already, but avoid taking advice from anything connected to or directly from Autism Speaks.
Social media tends to favor low-support-needs folks, so you'll find info about them, from them, much easier. Even if you're writing a LSN character, be mindful of that bias
Be wary of anyone claiming autism/ADHD is a superpower unironically. This is one of those things that's said by a lot of lower support needs folks and is often a warning sign that they might hold harmful beliefs about other parts of the community and could give you bad info. Just again, something to be aware of when researching.

I guess I just can’t imagine feeling that entitled and forgetting that I’m just a fan. As a creator myself I can’t rly imagine how I’d react if someone was like excuse me no, I know your art and your characters better than you do akshuallllly
I believe framing it as entitlement is the wrong way to think about it.
I can speak only for myself, but I see a variety of different but still canon or in-character ways for characters to develop. Not any of them is necessarily "right," which is to say not the One True and Only Path a character might take.
But whatever path a fictional character does take needs to be a path that character would take based on their personality, goals, emotional wounding, flaws, internal and external stressors. I don't have to like the path, but if it's one that doesn't break the fictional dream, I'll believe the character is capable of making that particular choice.
An example from That '70s Show. Jackie and Fez developing a romantic relationship is an in-character possibly in season 2 because of the episode "Eric and Kitty's Night Out". Had Jackie's development continued in the direction that episode points her, it would have led to a romantic arc between her and Fez. I wouldn't have liked it, but I would have accepted it as canon because the path made character sense at that time.
(But every episode after "Eric and Kitty's Night Out" provides a different context for Jackie's "realization" that she likes Fez romantically. Those post-episodes both corroborate the episodes preceding "Eric and Kitty's Night Out" that depict Jackie's non-romantic interest in Fez and show directly and indirectly that her "realization" is a misguided interpretation of her feelings of jealousy. Donna helps Jackie jump to her initial conclusion, but Jackie soon understands that she is jealous of the attention Fez gives to his girlfriend instead of her. She's not romantically attracted to him. She craves his worship.)
Had Jackie developed romantic feelings for Eric, however, on the show, I'd call, "Foul!" because it would be completely out of character for both of them. Jackie consistently expresses that she does not find Eric aesthetically or sexually attractive. Further, she's directly depicted as being sexually repulsed by him. Eric is shown to feel similarly about her except in the season 5 episode where Hyde convinces Eric that Jackie is "hot" when her personality is taken out of the equation.
But, generally, Jackie plays an antagonistic sibling role to Eric whenever Laurie isn't on the show. Eric even uses the same specific devil and hell insults on Jackie as he does Laurie, minus the slut-shaming.
Despite that I find the Jackie/Eric romantic intriguing, I can't consider it a canon, in-character pairing because it's simply not. My personal interests don't distort my writer's/reader's eye.
Speaking of equations, good writing does have a math-like aspect to it. 2 + 2 = 4. A character's personality, goals, trauma, flaws, established behavior + internal and external stressors = a character's choices. When I see in a show that the writing depicts two plus two as equaling five (character-wise), it's glaring.
I know that two plus two equals four, and pointing it out does not come from a place of entitlement but of a desire for truth. In the case of fiction, character and emotional truth. I want to correct the equation, but in fiction X can represent different but equally valid numbers to solve the equation.
A show's writers, unfortunately, too often put an invalid number for X that doesn't solve the character equation but collapses it in favor of a plot they want to pursue or any other reason that is not based on proper writing technique. Consistent characterization is an inconvenience they ignore.
A story (in whatever medium) must make sense. In college and selective post-college writing workshops, the students' (and teacher) are tasked with finding the flaws in their peers' stories, what breaks the fictional dream. We must, in our own writing and that of others', be aware of the characters' development and arc(s). What is working and why. What isn't working and why. Again, to make sure the story's equation is solved organically and logically.
In The Office (US), Greg Daniels (the creator and showrunner for most seasons and the final season) decided that Jim and Pam would separate in the final season and not reconcile until the last episode. John Krasinski (the actor who played Jim) was very tuned into the audience's reaction to the Jim/Pam storyline and saw that it wasn't good.
John told this to Greg and said that he worried Greg's plan (already written and partially filmed) would essentially destroy the show for the fans. They wouldn't be able to rewatch it happily, having experienced a traumatizing end for their favorite pairing.
Fortunately, the show's creator listened to John, to the fans, did a reshoot of the end of one already completed episode and re-edited under the wire then had the last few episodes rewritten to reflect Jim and Pam's reconciliation. This was absolutely the correct, in-character choice -- because the fans recognized a flaw in the equation, not the creator, and John (the actor) also recognized the flaw.
This wasn't the first time John objected to a character development on The Office. He also nixed the John-kisses-Cathy storyline proposed in season 8. He said the audience would never forgive Jim for cheating on Pam in any way. It's out of character for Jim, and instead the show depicts him as doing everything he can think of to get away from her in his Tallahassee hotel room. Again, someone who was not the writer knew better what a show's character would canonically do.
For John Krasinski and Leonard Nimoy, their fidelity was to the characters they portrayed. For many fans, including myself, it's the same. A sense of entitlement is not what I feel. I recognize when characters are written against their natures and want the equation to be corrected. TV showrunners and writers have a lot of external forces weighing on them from the industry and/or personal ambitions that undermine the characters they created or are tasked to write.
A sense of entitlement would entail, for instance, being blind (wilfully or ignorantly) to or simply not caring about character consistency so that the characters they ship become romantically involved on the shows they watch. Justifying their desire not with facts (i.e. what the characters actually say and do on a show) but with distortions and misinterpretations. Then attacking the showrunners and writers for not catering to their desires.
That '90s Show does not depict That '70s Show's canonical future (no idea if this is the reason for your asks, Anon, but it's relevant to the conversation). Canonical, well- and long-established facts from T7S are changed, distorted, or erased to create T9S's fictional dream. T9S is not a corollary of T7S's equation. It's a different equation altogether, using some of the same numbers but in different ways.
That's a fact, substantiated by statements made by T9S's creator Gregg Mettler and the show itself, and it's also not a problem as long as fans recognize -- in T7S's series director's statement about T7S S8 -- that T9S "is an alternative universe". In other words, not canon to T7S.
I enjoy That '90s Show as its own thing, but I neither consider it nor am satisfied by it as a canonical future for That '70s Show from both a fan's perspective and as an author.

Despite her immense talent, she remains super humble and is one of the kindest individuals I've encountered here. If you're a fan of MHA, giving her a follow is a definite must! ❤️
@lifeform286 - another exceptionally creative individual who also happens to be a wonderfully pleasant person to engage with! His writing and art consistently exhibit a polished and refined touch in every aspect. If you're a fan of the ShigaDabi ship from My Hero Academia, do yourself a favor and give him a follow 🤗
@bakubunny - a truly creative and talented creator! The way she describes everything keeps me super engaged in her headcanons and stories. As a multifandom writer, I'm confident you'll find something for yourself in her den! She's such a gifted writer, and I aspire to be as good as she is one day!
Among the numerous blogs I follow and adore, these stand out as my absolute favorites due to my deep appreciation for their writing 📝

Journal of a Questioning Otherkin (Entry 7)
I've been growing more comfortable with seeing myself as an alterhuman more consistently, but that hasn't really done much to fix the doubts about my specific identity or the species dysphoria/dysmorphia I've been dealing with. I guess progress happens in little steps.
A big thing I've been struggling with is feeling this weird sense of awkwardness/embarrassment from expressing my nonhuman side around trusted individuals. It's like, they're fully supportive and it makes me genuinely euphoric being treated like an animal, but there's still some part of me that says I'm being childish and that makes me feel like it's something I shouldn't be wanting. I'm doing my best to work past that, but I just feel like I should acknowledge it in my journaling too.
After a previous post, some comments let me know about fictherians/fictotherians and I'm super grateful for that! I feel like that fits me so much better than just standard fictionkin. Another little step forward.
Though I'm wondering, if I AM an Umbreon, does that mean some small part of me is or was an Eevee as well? I mean it makes sense, and in a way I do feel like a small little guy who has the potential to become so much but is struggling at the crossroads of what path to choose. Perhaps I'm overthinking it too much. But regardless, Eevee sounds very plausible all things considered, even if it's simply just that as an Umbreon, I was once an Eevee. Maybe part of me still is that Eevee. I don't know how this works. Below is a relevant image-
Tumblr media
In terms of my wolf identity, I'm still not quite sure if that is in addition to my Umbreon self or on top of it, or maybe just close enough to it that I feel connected? I know I CAN be both, but my brain is so irrationally afraid of taking on "too many" thereotypes at once and I stress out about it.
There's a different question I've had though. Am I specifically a wolf? I realized that I only gravitate towards wolf because it's what I'm most familiar with. In all likelihood, I'm fairly certain that my true self is some form of canid or canid-like creature, but I've been curious about doing some deeper research into different species of canids and seeing if any of them click. I don't know really anything about dholes and dingoes and jackals and the like, so it's hard for me to say at the moment. Maybe I'll find something there that resonates much more deeply than wolf, but wolf is just the best word I have for it at the moment. Who knows.
One last side thought, I really want to start looking into therian gear. I know it's not required to be valid, but I genuinely do feel like it might help me combat the feelings of dysphoria I have. I want a collar so bad. Do any of you guys know good places to look online for therian made therian gear? Not just a collar, but therian related gear in general? I don't mind paying more if I'm supporting smaller creators, especially if it's someone inside of the therian community. I would love to support that while also supporting my real self.
Anyways, small steps forward to feeling comfortable about myself. Maybe it isn't as big as I would like, but it's steps forward nonetheless.
Take care, until next time. -Bre

Since I feel like I owe you a little update: I'm working on a big post about everything I know on the law from the scientific perspective, as I said in the last post, but since I want to make it as complete and understandable as possible, it is taking a lot of time. Since the beginning of February I've been literally re-reading a shit ton of books and taking proper notes to make this post. Today I can say it's coming along really nice and I hope it will be ready to post soonish, but I can't guarantee anything cuz I've been and will be super busy with other things as well. Since I really don't want to leave my blog empty for such a long time I thought I would make a shorter post to fill the void. I hope you like it <3
DISCLAIMER: as we all know, all you really need to manifest is affirm once and believe it's done, so you don't really need to do any of these things. But if you struggle with consistency when it comes to saturating your mind, you should consider trying things that are more fun, so that you have more incentive to do it. It is your universe after all, so why not do something a little more exciting that just sitting in your house?
1) Making fake phone calls even in public: I used to do this a lot a long time ago. I would simply hang out and go to the park or to the mall or anything really and I would pretend I was on the phone with someone talking about my desires as if they came to be already. I just LOVE the looks on peoples faces when they hear me talk about my blooming business and the crazy things I bought. The only difference is now IT IS ALL TRUE
2) To manifest being rich, surround yourself in wealth: walk through a wealthy neighborhood, go into a luxury shop, hang out in a luxury hotels lobbys... this truly helps with feeling in the wish fulfilled because the more time you spend around wealth and luxury the more you will get used to it and the more it will feel and be part of your life. If you feel insecure about walking into Louis Vuitton or any other luxury shop just because you don't look like you are rich and you are afraid of being judged listen to me right now: I've worked in retail for luxury brands and I can GUARANTEE you that there are plenty of wealthy people who shop at these places and look like they don't own a cent. Shop assistants never pay too much attention to how people present themselves because it's not always a good indicator of wealth, so just relax and go inside like you own the place, even if you're wearing h&m.
3) If you want to manifest a relationship with an sp, do things that you would consider romantic for yourself. Buy yourself flowers, comfort yourself with kind words or take yourself out on dates. This is useful to get yourself used to getting pampered and to make your subconscious belive the fact that you are in a relationship even more clearly. One day I bought myself a rose and I kept affirming that my sp was the one who got it for me. This one works like a charm
4) Work on you confidence and your mindset. Being confident and believing that things are always good in your life and that nothing bad can happen to you is a state that gets you literally anything. Do things that make you feel confident and positive as much as possible. For me these are wearing clothes and makeup in the style I like, complimenting other people, listening to music, eating food I like and spending quality time with the people I love. I recommend praying if you are religious.
5) Know/affirm that capitalism ain't shit compared to you. People, and especially young ones, are afraid of the consequences of capitalism, such as global pollution and the fact that the rich are getting richer, while everyone else struggles to afford groceries and rent. The state the world is in can be reason for negative thoughts and loss of ambition. But as the conscious creator you are, you can just decide that these aren't problems anymore and that the situation is only getting better, you can decide that billionaires have to listen to everyone else and make the world a better place. Here are some of the affirmations I use:
"capitalism ain't shit compared to me"
"i am the one billionaires hate because im getting richer without playing their game"
"world leaders and billionaires do as I please because they are afraid of my power"
"the rich are getting poorer and the poor richer because i said so and thats it"
"i am an environmentally conscious and generous billionaire"
Hope this inspired you <3

Writer Highlight from Writers Sanctuary
Each month on Writers Sanctuary, a Discord server that nurtures writers of all kinds, highlights a writer and asks them questions about their writing process. This month's writer is Chai_ki!
@Chai_ki
Ao3 Profile: Chai_ki
Works:
Fervor Lullaby was fun to write and it honestly just flowed. I think that’s why I like it so much.
Can I Take Your Last Name was my first attempt at humor and I had a ton of fun writing it.
The Cadence of Leaves was my first multi-chapter fic and even though I haven’t posted in a while, I’m on track to finish it!
What is your writing process? How do you approach a fic or original work? (e.g. Are you a Pantser? Plotter? Do you focus on dialogue before description? etc.)
Pantser, now there's a great term! I would have to say that I am definitely more of a pantser but occasionally will try to plot. Most of the time I just write as things come and hope it all flows well. 😅A lot of my ideas come from music. I usually can imagine a scene in my head during a song and then that scene grows (if I'm lucky). Original works have been hard as I have a tendency to want to over-explain things and feel like I can't get the characters back stories across well enough. That's one of the reasons I love fan fiction, those reading already know the characters so I can just dive right into the story.
What was your first story and why did you finally decide to write?
Ooo this is hard. My first ever story was one about cats I think. It was in 1st or 2nd grade. I've had random other stories since then. My first Miraculous fic was titled "Affinity" and I first posted it on Amino. It's one I would like to rewrite (and finish) at some point, but I have a few other projects to finish first. I have always loved to write and as stated in answer 1, I struggle with over-explaining my characters. I fell in love with Miraculous and then found out there was this entire community of writers and realized I had found my version of heaven. That was in 2018 and since then writing for the fandom has been one of my most relaxing hobbies.
Where is your favorite place/time/conditions to write?
This one is easy, mostly. I can honestly write just about anywhere - so long as I don't have other responsibilities to attend to in the moment. I prefer to have music playing, usually it's songs that have inspired my current work, but I can write without it as well. So long as the ideas are flowing, I'm able to write!
What is your favorite pairing, platonic or romantic, and why?
Fandom specific would be the love square. I honestly can't really say why, I just know I adore them. I think a part of it is because I see bits of myself in each character, both in cannon and fanon. I also love the dynamic between Alya and Marinette. Alya reminds me of my best friend of 25 years in so many ways and I find I end up writing from personal experience with them. In terms of anything other than my own writing, I enjoy a variety of parings and ships and enjoy seeing how other creators bring them to life. (Not fandom specific I have a few parings that I'd consider an OTP, but that would make this answer way too long. 🤣)
Do you have any thematic elements you’re interested in or that consistently show up in your writing?
To be honest, I haven't thought much about themes in my writing. I suppose my main theme is cutesy love stories, friends being there for each other. Stuff like that. I'd love to get good at writing adventure or humor, but I'm not sure I'm there yet. I do have a WIP that is an adventure story. The prompt is a Goonies/National Treasure AU I was given in the MWG for December's event. I'm struggling with it, but I also enjoy the challenge. One of my favorite tropes is friends to lovers and I feel like I use that in every story I've posted so far.
How do you deal with writer's block?
Music. Just about everything comes back to music for me. Sometimes I get disheartened if I'm stuck but I've found that listening to music, be it a new song, band or old favorite always sparks something creative.
What do you do if you have too many ideas?
I feel as though that's a normal state of living for me. 😅At any given moment some idea for something is floating around in my mind. (Along with a constant radio of song.) If one idea really sparks an interest I will hyper fixate on it, otherwise they live in my head, rent free. Truthfully, I should be noting them down somewhere...
You said that Fervor Lullaby (which is adorable) was fun and easy to write because it "just flowed." How long did writing the one shot take in that flow tate, and have you ever been able to get back into it for any other pieces?
Thank you! 🥺 Fervor Lullaby took about 3 hours in total to write. I saw the prompt and the ideas just kept coming. Ironically this story didn't have a song to spark it though I found a very fitting one to go with it once it was done. Sadly, I haven't been able to get back that fast of a flow since then and IRL stuff has limited my writing time significantly over the last 6-ish months. I hope to get back into writing more now that things have slowed down a bit. Seeing other creators is always inspiring and I am grateful for the Miraculous community!

Hey uh I love writing and blogging!! Below are my full thoughts on taking a hiatus, and mostly it's rambling--but I'm so thankful for all the support and new friends I've made as a Vtuber, as a Goblin, that I think I wanna share myself more. Anyway, readmore below if you want, and thank you if you take the time! ♥
I think I've been wanting to be successful and consistent as a streamer/creator for so long and struggling with it just--I don't allow myself to breathe, and when I do I feel bad about it. I stuff every day with expectations of what I should be doing, what needs to get done, to justify my existence or something--and on top of that, tell myself okay, this week we need to stream at least 3 times, for 3 hours each. It doesn't SEEM like a lot, but when you consider I also write lore, make lil videos and promos, not to mention the new Fansly sub arts, occasional commissions, and art projects for friends... On top of!! Being the primary like, "caretaker" of my irl household when it comes to food planning, cleaning, etc. I don't mention my "dayjob" bc of the shame around non-traditonal roles and work but that's a whole other personal thing I don't feel comfy talking about as Thoxa! All y'all need to know is I try to work hard, irl and online, and it's been a non-stop marathon for THREE YEARS!! Don't get me wrong, I have loved all of it, even the failures and the bad days made me grow a lil stronger, learn some life truths, make friends and lose them again--that's life, no matter where you go. This past year though--it's been rough, trying to succeed and hitting both emotional and physical roadblocks along the way, as well as trying to keep some sort of balance in my life. So, I've decided to start fresh in a way, but also I'm not stopping. I can't STOP it's just not in my nature. I'm BREATHING. I'm taking my time to inhale, to exhale, to realize I can let shit go and move past it, to take every day in stride and do my best and apologize correctly when I fail. And that well, I can exist, also. I don't have to push so hard, every day, all day. I can watch my camping videos and encourage myself to be stronger and more independent while enjoying all of life. Not to get too deep but we have precious little time enjoying this world--there's so much bad, but so much GOOD too! And nature, it's healing, it's good. I'm excited to go be one with Nature this summer, to feel the air and sun and feel alive again. I'm a cave goblin, sure! But I do love to be FREE. I'm going to return, soon. "Stronger than yesterday/Now It's nothing but MY WAY" as Britney says! I'm gonna record cover songs, I've begged ppl to help me mix and finish them, I have a new model in the works, art I'm going to keep publishing on Fansly--The Goblin Idol Greatness is COMING

2024 Goals
I'm going to divide this up by like- writing, Online life, real life so here we go
Writing Goals
So I have two goals for 2024 that kind of contradict each other a little. Basically I want to write 5 full fics in 2024 but my daily word goal is 500 words.
Some days I will write way more then 500, but my absolute base is 500 words.
The fics I want to write in 2024 are Prince of Wrath, Prince of Deception, Nevermore, Red Riding Hood and one more (We'll see what it ends up being) I also want to edit and re-write Win or Lose, my original story that I wrote for nanowrimo
I've decided that I'm not doing Camp Nano anymore. It doesn't spark joy like it used to, instead it just stresses me out and I'm going to wait until November to see how I feel about doing regular Nano.
Online Life Goals
My two big words for 2024 are Consistency and Follow Through, two things I am incredibly bad at. Things that I want to actively work on in myself in all aspects of my life, but the follow through is especially true online.
I want to grow my community and friendships and that means being more open and actually doing the things I say I'm going to do. It means reaching out to fellow creators and making those connections beyond just liking their posts. I'm not... good at that. But I'm not going to get better at it if I don't push myself to do it, you know?
Like- I had a plan to do a whole Christmas gift thing for my online friends that fell through entirely (In my meager defense, my real life fell apart at around this time but still). I keep signing up to do challenges and exchanges and then just- don't. I want to change that, I want to put less on my plate and I want to actually finish the things I put on there.
Also (This is less a year long goal and more a month long goal) I want to do mood boards or new intro posts or something like that for my characters.
Real Life Goals
I have a few real life goals this year.
the first is that I want to buy less and use more of what I have. I have a bad habit of shopping as therapy which means I own a lot of shit and lately it's just stressing me out and having two more people move into my house has made it so much worse so 2024 is the year of using what I have.
I want to move more. Not in a 'I want to lose weight' way but in a 'I sit on my ass at work 11 hours a day' way. I haven't figured out how that's going to go since Kansas is either cold as shit or hot as the sun there is no in between but I want to figure something out.
I also want to establish morning and evening routines. I already have them figured out, I just need to implement them. The routines are very based around writing, which I don't consider a problem.

I was kinda joking, but honestly this entire back and forth has been facinating.
Because there IS a divide within the fandom between those that looks at the ending the way i've described it all, with reactions ranging "this is dumb, to "fucking terrible, breaks the themes of the series wide open", and those who dont who generally think it was somewhere vbtween average, to okay, to amazing.
They just dont see it and think the other side hating it are making a mountain out of a molehill, or seeing things that arent there.
But its not like the people who hate the ending are some fringe minority either, as from what i've seen it could be anywhere from 10% to half the readership, its kinda hard to get an exact gauge, other than it seems to be a huge section of the fandom.
So clearly the issues they see is something that ressonated(in a negative way) with a lot of people, while others just arent able to see it this way, and gets anywhere from confused(you) to angry(i had one guy yesterdays who essentially called me a uncultured swine incapable of good story analysis) when exposed to this viewpoint.
I honestly find that a rather facinating divide.
Well, I'm not engaged much with the anime fandom, but from what I've heard, the MHA fandom is considered especially toxic. I don't know if that leads to this kind of nitpicking, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I've personally always made it a specific policy, even when I absolutely loathe the work in question, to avoid nitpicking (and personal attacks on the creators). I could dissect Gene Yang's AtLA comics panel-by-panel finding something to complain about, if I wanted, and I'm pretty sure there would have been an audience for that back when they were coming out. But I refrained and stuck to criticisms of problems that come together to bring the work down as a whole. I also make a point of calling out stuff I like in my critiques, even if it's minor, and try not to turn it into a backhanded compliment (but I admit I might not succeed at that last goal consistently).
I'm not saying this to congratulate myself or anything like that. I just feel like staying above that level of toxicity makes for a much healthier, productive, and informative atmosphere. I'm not saying it's more engaging, because Hating is a lot of fun in its own way and I suspect that's why it eventually becomes self-sustaining, but Hating also burns a lot of energy, and I'd rather be lazy.
Anyway, I guess I'm saying not to put too much stock into fandom reaction. I mean, going by the fandom reaction to LoK's finale, the last-minute Korrasami was the biggest writing failure in the entire show, and that ain't even close to true. And now it's considered the best part of the entire series, but I don't think anyone is arguing that the writing around it somehow became good since it aired. ;)

here is the link to the fic it's by @curiositydooropened it's sooo good but super angsty. If you love Vickie be prepared to be heartbroken 💔
But yeah I love smut when I'm in the mood lmao. I'm super impressed by anyone who can write it because while I enjoy reading it I have trouble writing it myself. I'm really awkward about it for some reason.
But I also miss the days when we get more story driven fics, it's sad because usually those are at peak in the beginning, the fandom is slowly dying out until s5 so fics unfortunately will become even more sparse. Engagement dies down so writers don't wanna post anymore, I understand that, but it's still sad. </3
Yeah post s4 fics just scream for angst based on how the last episode ended. I truly think for s5 we'll get apocalyptic Hawkins. It's gonna be soo grim. But please if you are writing the cute post s4 blanket duty fic I'll be there to read it. <33
I read another fic by @hawkinsquarry which is about Steve getting hurt by a demodog and the reader patches him up. It was one of the best hurt/comfort fic these days. You totally should check it out as well 💖
THANK YOU FOR THE RECS omg im so excited to read them!! also im SOOO scared about vickie haha
(also minor sidenote to the creators tagged: hi lol! don't mind this - or when you see me in your notes later lol)
anyway, yeah i totally get what you mean! i absolutely miss story-based fics and especially the more angsty ones! (partially i think i just miss my own writing and ideas haha :") up to the gods 2 would feel my angst rn if i could get into writing it 😭) but yeah!! smut's fine i just can't write it lmao
yeah, engagement really fell in the 1-3 months after volume 2 came out, honestly. and it was SO fast, like i've been in older fandoms and stuff before and never did they fall that fast. it was such a shock to see little works go from hundreds of notes to maybe 50 almost overnight, and it's really disheartening to know that your works used to be more viewed/seen/appreciated. luckily for me (and i honestly recommend this to EVERYONE too) i also post to ao3 and my fics usually get consistent views there, so that kind of makes me feel a little better at times!
also YES. i'm honestly so excited for s5 solely for the fics that people will make lol. like i can just... tell that the fans will be able to do great things with it, and im excited. :) and also i deeply miss steve harrington lmao 😭
i'll really consider trying to create a cute little plot with the blanket duty s4 fic!! im kinda weighed down with a lot of other projects at the moment but it is really intriguing to explore that kind of time period via fanfic!

Dear Diary,
Tumblr media
I’m officially ungrounded!!! So much for being grounded "for life". My dad held strong for a good 3 months before deciding my mom was being a tyrant. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me explain. Soooooo I was a little dishonest in my last post. I shared a lot more than just a kiss with Eric. What can I say? Cocktails and hormones. Truthfully, I just needed a distraction & Eric was eager to supply that.
Tumblr media
When Eric left the next morning he had the unfortunate pleasure of running into the devil my mother 👿. She ripped me a new one when she came home from church. Lord only knows what she had to say to Eric. "Do you have to sl*t yourself out to every boy that looks in your direction?" Look, I know I had a boy in my room, and, yes he did end up spending the night, and we messed around…Okay this sounds soooo bad when I write it down and actually self reflect. She may have ate that *one* little thing. ANYWAY. Moving on. Since I’ve been set free a lot has happened…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your girl is officially a Copperdale Womp Womp (please, don’t ask). The girls have been so nice and accommodating, especially with me missing out on crucial team bonding/basic high school socialization. I’ve gotten especially close to this girl named, Noemie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We legit talk on the phone or face time every night, and no one knows how to find the best pieces at ThrifTea like she does. She’s my sister from another mister. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Noemie, I don’t think I would’ve survived Copperdale. As soon as I made the cheer team Noemie added me to a group chat, #ThotsAndJocks, consisting of mostly cheerleaders and football players w/ a few other people scattered in. She made sure I was still invited to parties, included me in discussions, and put my name out there. Don’t get me wrong everyone else is cool, but Noemie is my person. Well, almost everyone is cool. There’s this boy…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Matthew Felix. The hottest guy in the school. And also the biggest douche in the school. Who just happens to be Eric's best friend. From the moment I stepped foot on campus, he decided that his life's mission was to make mine a living hell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have no clue what the Creator was thinking when they decided to put us in homeroom together, but I hope they've been enjoying the show. Everyday I wake up and wonder what issue Matthew will find with me, and trust me when I say it's something new each day. The first time I met him, he thought pulling my chair from under me was a proper introduction. And that I obviously deserved it because "everyone knows he sits next to Eric". As if it wasn't my first week! He's "accidentally" thrown a football at my head during practice on more than one occasion. I get anxious anytime I have to use my locker because I don't know if it's going to be full of packing peanuts, marbles, confetti, you name it. Every time he flashes that stupid f*cking smirk I just want to smack it right off his silly little face. He knows exactly how to push my buttons and I fall for it every time. I know I shouldn't let it get to me but.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes, on those ultra rare occasions, he's actually capable of being a decent human being.... And no matter how much he annoys me, I can't deny that there's something about him that draws me in, like this magnetic pull that I can't escape. I wish I could make sense of all these feelings, or at least ignore them altogether, truth be told I know I should stay away from him considering my situationship with Eric. That's easier said than done. Maybe if I stop giving him the satisfaction of knowing he gets under my skin, I'll be taken off his radar. Even though I'll never admit it outside of the confines of this diary ..... I really don't want that to happen. I'm almost late for cheer Until next time diary, XOXO Naomi ♡
