just a what if but
Hyacinthus alive (idk how), immortalized and in pjo
Sally: oh geez, I forgot to ask your name.
Hyacinthus: you’re fine, it’s Hyacinthus.
Sally: something about this seems familiar…. Isn’t Hyacinth a flower, so your parents named you after the flower?
Hyacinthus: hm? Oh no, the flower was named after me
Sally: Haha but the flower was named a shitload of years ago by- …..oh gods, you’re actually… you’re Apollo’s lover, how are you-
Hyacinthus: alive. Well, Apollo is known to be.. pouty when his love life eventually fails and to put it in simple terms, it’s similar to what Dionysus and Ariadne have going on.
Sally: I can’t believe I just blanked, you have the scar and Apollo even introduced us, wow I’m usually better at this.

Hyacinth
Going into this you knew
What your fate would be
The lover of a god
The very sun
That your own people worshiped
Tell me, dear Hyacinth
Was it worth it?
For those bright violet eyes
To go so lifeless
Was it worth it
To love the sun
Though your spirit is no longer yours
It lives on
In the beautiful flower
Of sorrow and regret
Spider lily
Bright red blood
Spiled to early
Abandoned
And left to die
Was it bad luck?
Or perhaps something more sinister
Was it planned?
You would never know
They left you to early
To young to understand
That they would never come back
Young, Alone, and Naive
That’s why
You lie here today
Dead in a field of spider lilies
I'm sorry I know my poet skills are shit

Do I like this character because they are themselves or do I like them because they're related to Hyacinthus?
No, really. I've been asking myself this question these days because all of my "favorite Greek mythology characters" list consisted of people related to Hyacinthus in way or another. Clio the Muse his mother, Amyclas and Diomede his mortal parents, his many siblings, Helen and Menelaus because Helen is a descendant of Hyacinthus. Apollo and Polyboea are better because I can imagine them separately from Hyacinthus.
I'm kinda feeling guilty because these characters deserved love as their own people, not because they're related to my Favorite GuyTM :'<

I went on tiktok to just watch some silly Odysseus videos but then I mostly saw people going like "Yeah, maybe Odysseus cried on Calypso' island every day but honestly he had that coming after what he did Achilles and Patroclous/Circe!!!" and "Everything that happens in Odyssey is deserved cuz he took Patrochilles to war!!!" and "I feel so bad for Circe and Calypso and Penelope, they deserved better!!!"
For fucks sake I beg you, read anything different from Millers bs and like educate yourself- And please stop goddamn saying that rape victim. deserved it.
Circe probably didn't give a flying fuck, Calypso is a rapist and abuser and Penelope deserved everything she wanted and SHE WANTED ODYSSEUS
I think I've had enough internet for today, imma go wash my eyes with bleach. Anyways sorry for ranting here, i hope you don't mind it lmao
It's alright. I absolutely understand the vents about the whole thing. :'D No one deserves to be a victim of such a thing no matter WHAT they've done. I hope your eyes are okay after the bleach
Like Odysseus does so many fucked up things but Calypso and Circe? He is the victim. Period. It's very clear that Odysseus is in extreme distress on Ogygia. And Circe wasn't some sort of FwB situation. There's fear and numbness in the language he uses when talking about it. There's so much victim blaming and it SUCKS.
Even then, Odysseus' journey was kind of about "temptation" or just straight up "Die or get out of my sea." From Poseidon. "I don't want you in my waters so I'm gonna try and give you things that will keep you on land or just kill you."
Immortal goddesses wanting you would be many people's dream come true but not for Odysseus. And I think that's the point. His determination, how he clawed his way back into the arms he never wanted to leave in the first place, is incredible. Many people would've given up and just started a new life but he never would because no life he could ever create would compare to the life he had before. Even if it's different, it's what he's always wanted.
He literally tells Calypso "I'm not stopping until I'm home. I don't care if I suffer more until I do. I'm going home."
“Mighty goddess, do not be angry with me over this. I myself know very well Penelope, although intelligent, is not your match                                          to look at, not in stature or in beauty. But she’s a human being and you’re a god. You’ll never die or age. But still I wish, every moment to get back to my home,                                                       to see the day of my return. And so, even if out there on the wine-dark sea some god breaks me apart, I will go on— the heart here in my chest is quite prepared to bear affliction. I’ve already had so many troubles, and I’ve worked so hard                                  through waves and warfare. Let what’s yet to come be added in with those.”
(Book 5, Johnston)
Circe's a goddess and what happened is nothing like Dionysus and Ariadne and Apollo and Hyacinthus for example. Circe never gave Odysseus a crown of stars and he would never go out of his way to kill 120 people for bothering her. They did not love each other and he can't refuse as she's a goddess.
If you interpret them sleeping together the entire year,(It's only explicitly said that they had sex once so that's what I go with personally.) that doesn't mean he was happy with it! Even then, the whole situation is not what a healthy FwB should look like! I'm asexual and even I know that no one in a FwB situation should have to BEG in any way that basically says "Please let me go or kill me" with supplication!!! The fact that he leaves so quickly he forgets one of his men? The fact that during Elpenor's funeral, he doesn't greet Circe himself? He was avoiding her. Wouldn't he want to get "one last night together" during Book 12 if they were fwb? 🙄
It's bonkers to me that people hate him for being a "cheater" when A.) having multiple lovers wasn't uncommon in Ancient Greece, and B.) the two people he is explicitly said to have "cheated" with, weren't his choice. He wasn't actively searching for pretty women either!!!
As mentioned, while it was common for men to have many lovers, Odysseus never had any listed unlike some of the other men. (not bashing any of them. I'm just making a point in comparison.) He also has no other children besides Telemachus in Homer's works. There's no evidence of him having other lovers other than speculation. (funny enough, I once read somewhere that the reason why Odysseus is so mean is because he doesn't "bond" enough with the other soldiers. 😂)
Does that mean he didn't have other lovers? Technically, Nope! It's just never explicitly stated either way. He has slaves but none were ever said to be concubines or that he sleeps with them. He has deep bonds with his fellow soldiers but that doesn't mean he sleeps with them. That doesn't mean people can't write or talk about him doing so even though it's not mentioned! Just like it also means that someone can write him not doing so as there's nothing that says it either way in Homer's Works! :D
It's fucked up when people say "He didn't try to leave Calypso enough" or something of the like. It just tells you how A.) they didn't read the Odyssey or have piss on the poor reading comprehension or B.) ...you should probably stay away from that person...
With Circe though??? I can understand the confusion but digging deeper and looking at the text, he wasn't having a good time. Or at the very least was walking on Eggshells the whole time. I hate bringing up that essay over and over again but like...I literally wrote everything there.
I also don't like how people take Circe's morally gray-ness away from her. Let her do something fucked up to be fucked up!!! Let her traumatize Odysseus!
Idk, I kind of hate that I'm "known" for this but I relate to this idiot asshole a lot and it means a lot to me that his story, despite what happens to him, has a happy ending :'D

Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 1 Review (3/3)
Part 1 • Part 2
What I dislike:
Poseidon appearing when Sally called him. Actually, shout out to that scene because it made me realize a different side about the whole "Gods' worlds view" I had not considered before! The main conflict if this series is the demigods being angry at their godly parents for not being present in their lives, but what we do not see is the human parents' POV. The Gods do not respond to them either. For a human maybe the God was the love of their life, but we know for a fact that there are demigods who share same parent and are the same age. That says it all. Gods sees these "epic romances" as another affair more. Maybe they had a good time and they found you incredible, but what to a human was a few months (maybe years,if you are lucky) of magic, for an immortal God that must be like a week or something. Not everyone is a Hyacinthus or Ariadne or Psyche, sadly. So I don't think he will be answering out of nowhere just because
Percy and Annabeth being already teased about "having a crush" on each other. In my opinion, the first book is to develop their friendship, the next books have the job to do the romance. So it feels like too much, too rushed, too soon for me
There is a lack of urgency throughout the show. Partly, it was because all the monsters walk slowly and never attacked or felt threatening at all . Making the trio miss the time limit made it worst, especially because there was not consequences. The war was supposed to have started, but it didn't because it didn't happen in the books either, so all of that was pointless.
I do not love that Percy has a sassy attitude towards Zeus from the beginning. I feel that showing him being nervous while talking with Zeus in Book 1 is a great juxtaposition to the end of Book 5 when he is confident and being his sassy self in front of all the Gods, shows character growth
Minor complaint about Olympus: all the thrones look the same instead of being designed according to each God. Wish they at least make Hera's golden, that happened in myths, it is canon
In the books Luke tries to kill Percy with a scorpion showing how he really is joining the dark side, here that didn't happen and that is disappointing
Annabeth following Luke and Percy to the woods while she is invisible is weird, isn't it? It does not makes sense why she did that and just makes you question her intentions and if she has done stuff like that before. I genuinely hate it
We do not get to see Percy having to choose between staying at Camp all year or going back with his mom. It is important because it shows what kind of guy Percy is and what his priorities are. He is a mama's boy and he going back to Sally speaks volumes about his loyalty and love for her
This version of Gabe did not deserve to die. He was just some dude, maybe useless but he did not hurt anyone or anything so the punishment is no proportional to his actions. If they town down the aggressions, is only fair to do the same with the punishment. Also, the casting does not hel. Mr Timm Sharp has a wholesome vibe. He really reminds me of Paul Rudd. I can see him playing the role of a loving father just like Paul did with Scott in the first two Ant-Man movies easily
This is not about the show itself, so I didn't know where else to put it but I genuinely love to see the interviews. The cast is super fun, have better chemistry just being themselves than in the show , and overall I have a better time watching them than the show, sadly

Apollo in TOA mentioning that maybe Zephyros had finally forgiven him for their feud over Hyacinthus versus me recalling all that ancient artwork depicting Hyacinthus fleeing from Zephyros' advances (including using the swan chariot Apollo gifted him in order to escape)... Apollo I know this series was about you growing and changing but you've earned the right to hold onto that one. Keep Zephyros enslaved and Iris (his second and current wife iirc, can't remember what happened to his first one) away from him
LIT-ER-AL-LY that was so weird!!!!!!!
and i remember having this exact criticism about Toa at the time. basically I used to believe Rick Riordan had almost gone too hard on Apollo’s redemption? swung too much on the other side, in a way? because my boy was pretty much taking abuse from anybody and pretending he deserved it even when he didn’t.
him apologizing to Zephyrus is such a big example of that. becoming a better person doesn’t mean letting everybody walk all over you, or always taking the blame, and that mf literally killed his boyfriend😭😭
the reason why I say I used to believe that is that now I think the overkill of Apollo’s guilt was written on purpose. it’s realistic for someone who’s undergoing such an epiphany about how shitty they’ve been: they are gonna fall into self-deprecating territory very fast. it would be weird if they didn’t.
not to mention Apollo feels guilty about everything in general, so i find it hard to believe he’d never before considered the idea that he had some part of blame over Hyacinthus’ death.
one thing I will say is that as a coronation for his growth, i would have loved to see Apollo forgiving Zephyrus instead (in the way the Sybil did with him, the whole “what you did was not okay and you don’t deserve it but i’ll let it go for both of our sakes”)

Apollo/Arrow of Dodona (Polldona) VS Apollo/Hyacinthus (Hyapollo
Propaganda
Apollo/Arrow of Dodona (Polldona) - The crack ship of the ages. These two losers deserve the W! - They have a genuinely great relationship and the best dynamic. It started off rocky but it blossomed into a wonderful friendship. The Arrow also died for Apollo.
Apollo/Hyacinthus (Hyapollo) - Idk i like them

Do you grow any flowers
Have you ever made a flower crown
Favorite and least favorite flower just tell me more abt flowers pls(?)
My family and I tend to (try to) grow lilies of all sorts, lupin, heather, poppies, and an array of wildflowers.
I have made flower crowns before, using two different techniques that I would be happy to share if you wanted. I've made a few daisy crowns but I've made more of dandelions (because we have more of them here!)
Favourite flower is either hyacinths or narcissus, and I don't have a least favourite! I love all flowers, really, even weeds like dandelions.
Additional flower things (because you have given me a space to talk about them so I will):
Daisies are an invasive species where I live!
I really like the wild rose, Alberta's provincial flower
Roses mean very different things in floriography depending on colour. For example, a red rose means romantic love, but a yellow rose means friendship.
My two favourite flowers have meanings in floriography based on my favourite Greek myths. Can you tell why they're my favourites?
To add to the last point, hyacinths are from the myth of Hyacinthus and Apollo, and narcissus (common name: daffodil) are from the myth of Narcissus! Btw Narcissus deserved better and fuck Aphrodite for that one thing in particular
Fun fact: the hyacinth that we know today was likely not the flower that Hyacinthus turned into in the actual myth. I don't know how it's described in common interpretations, but it isn't really the flower we know now.
Canada's 150th anniversary was also celebrated with a white tulip with red accents called a "maple leaf tulip"
To thank Canada for sheltering their princess in World War 2, the Dutch royal family sent Canada 100,000 tulips in 1945. That's a lot of fucking tulips.
The tulip mania! That was a thing that happened and something that I would totally write a (maybe video) essay on! It really started in 1634, and ended in 1637. Tulips became extremely desirable and thus expensive, causing what was effectively mass hysteria over them.

Making bouquets for my ships part 6
Suegiku: white coltsfoot, white rainflowers, blue bellflowers, purple hyacinths, purple hydrangeas, purple and white garden daises and scarlet geraniums
This one took quite some time as I was indecisive but as you can see it still ended up being quite the long bunch of flower, my largest bouquet yet! I think the colors came together quite nicely though red is quite overpowering at times. I'm sure if balanced well it would look nice irl.
Starting off with coltsfoot, in old floriography it held in meaning "justice shall be done" and the white really punches the purity of those words (and looks aesthetically pleasing). It's suegiku need I say more. White rainflowers represent 3 things, "I love you back, I must atone for my sins, I will never forget you." You know why? It's connected to Zephyr! They're called zephyranthes as well for a reason. This old tale is of the jealous west wind who accidentally killed Hyacinthus (the man he was in love with) by sending the discus flying back out of jealousy of Apollo for bagging him instead (if I can't have him no one can style). That pretty much explains the meanings and I think this goes quite well with Tecchou feeling at fault as well as feeling bad as Jouno would have never wanted him to set aside justice for him. This also relates to Jouno cause in my head he would feel Tecchou deserves someone who's ideals are as pure as him not someone like Jouno. Relating to this myth I'm going to jump ahead to hyacinths which, you guessed it, relates to hyacinthus. Hyacinths are believed to have grown from his blood and purple hyacinths represent sorrow and desire for forgiveness. Why? Well this is from Apollo's pov of course silly. See in some versions there was no Zephyr while in others there is. It doesn't matter anyways though because Apollo blames himself for his lover's death. I feel as though if Jouno died Tecchou would blame himself even if it wasn't his fault. I also found accidentally putting flowers related to opposite sides of this tale quite amusing.
Going back into chronological order, blue bellflowers represent a constancy, an unwavering love. Despite each others flaws and clashes does their love for each other not stayed unwavering? Blue highlights the loyalty and trust. Next purple hydrangeas stand for a desire to deeply understand someone. I think deep down they are both fascinated by the other's way of thinking and want to understand it better, more obvious on Tecchou's side then Jouno's. Moving on, garden daisies. See usually garden daisies and innocence, purity blah blah blah but I saw a very specific meaning for garden daisies in an old book and ran with it. It said "I take part in your sentiments." It SCREAMS Jouno about Tecchou. It's clear Tecchou has rubbed off on him in some form based on him caring about people and choosing to stand against Fukuchi (not to say it wasn't himself but still!). He's taking part in Tecchou's ways. Finally, scarlet geraniums. They're meaning relates to comfort or stupidity; quite the duality am I right? Well, does Jouno not find comfort in Tecchou despite his stupidity? (in my delusions he does lmao) I just thought it was a really nice nod towards Jouno's side of their dynamic. Wow this ended up being longer than I expected.

doodle dump
I've never posted anything of my own on here so I thought "why the heck not" so I'm gonna post all my recent doodles (they're all in the same art style bc I recently developed it and it gives me so much serotonin that I can't stop)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
they're called tatos and they're everything to me at the moment
A lil bit of context for each one because i wanna rant
1: I wanted a cutesy doodleable art style and I started with the top left drawing and it quickly devolved into an oval with a face and I was so delighted by it I decided to stick with it (also the Apollo and Hyacinthus thing was out of the blue, I drew Apollo first and I accidentally gave him a sad face (don't ask how idk) and then I gave him something to be sad over as a coping mechanism I think)
2, 3: exactly what the top says, I drew some greek gods as potatos :D
4: drawing my oc Marcus, a character I designed specifically for Apollo because he needs therapy and hugs and kisses and headpats and I thought he deserved a cutesy femboy. Don't ask why, I'm not even sure, but they're my new comfort ship completely fabricated by my silly autistic brain to cope with the fact that I finished Trials of Apollo and have run out of things to make fun of him for. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
5: my Apollo tato wearing a silly shirt I came up with on a whim
6: more of the silly gay men. (Marcus is mildly silly tism so Apollo has to be on his right side or he has a goofy little meltdown. They did not think this through before putting on the shirts.)
7: I drew this immediately after the live stream for the Vengeance Saga because Calypso and Antinous are my favorite crackship and they give me serotonin and I needed to cope with EPIC induced depression (Ship courtesy of @irunaki, fishy Calypso also designed by her. I really like the fishy design I think it's super cute jajabsjsshishq I'm just bad at executing it I'm sorry)
8: Hermes in a fedora. I had the thought of him having multiple hats and pairs of shoes with wings to go with any outfit, and I love it, so I did it. :)
9: my finalized tato designs so far! Ima add more eventually since there's still space. Jimothy was requested by my mom lol
10: I was having a bad day Halloween morning so I had to quickly sketch my silly boys to make me feel better. (I really love my idea for Apollo's Halloween costume lmao. If its hard to read (which I'm sure it is) it says "forgot it was Halloween. Panicked. Snapped an arrow in half, taped it to a headband and called it good")
11: it's Will Solace dressed up as a lamp and Nico D'Angelo dressed up as a moth. I got this idea from a scene in the last TOA book where Will is given a lampshade to wear because he's mistaken for a human light source.
That's it, let me know if you want more silly drawings like this :) thank u for your time :D

It's always OC hours in my mind. His name is Hyacinthus (he/him). He will kill you and probably pin someone else for the crime in the court of law. I mean, if he's hired on as your lawyer, why wouldn't he?
I promise he'll only kill you brutally if you 100% deserve it. Vigilante justice and daddy issues and all that left him with a strong moral code. The moral code's fucked up for sure, but it's still a moral code and better some than none.
I love him. His name is trashcan vampire superstar and he's gay and trans.

hi. hey. hi. you wanted thoughts? you’ll get thoughts
first of all, you make me insane. did you know this? you knew this.
i just got done with dirk’s portion of the essay and that’s where i’m stopping tonight because frankly it’s midnight in like forty five minutes as of me writing this and i am somewhat delirious with sleeplessness. waking up at 5 am does that to someone.
anyway, the thoughts. fuck, man. each time i’m reminded of dirk’s endless hunt of perfection i can’t decide if i should laugh or cry. i don’t know why it keeps surprising me - he is the prince of heart, the destroyer of self, but it feels like he spends the vast majority of the narrative wanting to be anyone but himself, yet stuck with the knowledge that if he is not himself then someone else would have to be, and like hell he’ll let that happen.
viewing dirk strider is like viewing a costume party. he immerses himself in mind, the switching of masks and attitudes - and makes it heart-y. he wears himself as a costume, the version of himself that he thinks others will like, that they want to see, and passes that off as the real him. eventually that evolves into his going ultimate, as he ceases to be dirk strider and becomes the prince of heart.
i loved the section on hal. that was to be expected, as he is my favourite special boy, but pointing out all the dichotomies between them and how the creation, more perfect than its creator yet desiring the imperfections of its master, it and he refuse to trust each other. something about how looking into a mirror never yields an honest reflection… i could probably type up a whole thing about dirk, hal and the myth of hyacinthus but god knows i’ll probably never get the time.
your philosophy knowledge is so fucking awesome. i went into your essays knowing nothing about philosophy and came out having understood what you said. that’s really impressive. you’re making me want to read beavouir. though my friend who’s also into philosophy reccomended i get one of butler’s works alongside her because “simóne is a filthy structuralist” whatever that means
i’ll stop here because i feel myself getting less coherent by the minute.
ps: how dare you call lil’ seb ‘the fucking robot con air bunny’. he deserves better
god please please please send me your thoughts on the lovers PLEASE im insane and i welcome any engagement from a brain that isnt my own FUCK theyre so lovely

(Spoilers for ToA)
Do you ever think that Apollo saw and was upset by any similarities between Hyacinthus and Jason?
I mean, I’m reaching a little bit, but for how little we know about Hyacinthus, there’s a few things they have in common.
For one thing, Apollo called Hyacinthus “the most handsome of men”. And Jason is constantly being described as really quite good looking by basically every character that ever describes him in the series. Can’t remember for sure but I thought Apollo might have commented on his looks once as well? Think he called him “impressive” or something at least.
Hyacinthus has dark hair and purple eyes, so fair enough not much similarity there. But Jason’s signature colour is purple from the Legion so that’s something. Hyacinthus is described as having bronze skin as well. Might be slipping into fanon but I thought Jason also had tanned bronze skin at some points?
In The Hidden Oracle, Apollo dreams of Hyacinthus and he has a big dent in the side of his head above his left ear where the discus struck him. Jason got that bevel (his wild streak) in his hair from Sciron’s bullet, and everyone seemed to like it so maybe he kept it? Could be wrong but I think that groove was above his left ear too.
Aside from looks. Hyacinthus was said to be very brave, entering a relationship with a god which could be dangerous. He was also a Prince of Sparta who knew how to fight, so he’d probably fought in battles too. Jason was said to be very courageous, sacrificing himself in The Burning Maze to save everybody and all the fights he’d fought before. Plus, some people (in the fandom anyway) draw comparisons between him leading the Legion and being Jupiter’s son as effectively being a prince of sorts.
Hyacinthus is supposed to be very kind as well. Jason was shown to be kind handling Nico and making a point to remember minor gods.
Apollo sings of his love for Hyacinthus in The Hidden Oracle and expresses his regret over his jealousy which ultimately killed Hyacinthus. In The Tyrant’s Tomb, Apollo sings about his regret over Jason’s death and about Jason’s bravery and skill.
Hyacinthus’ father taught him archery and martial arts, which he was supposed to be very good at. Among Jason’s other abilities, he’s supposed to be extremely agile. Annabeth described him as very acrobatic when he flipped over Dakota at Fort Sumter.
Hyacinthus was the son of Clio the Muse of History. He knew loads about history and enjoyed it. Jason was mentioned to love history as well, and he always knew lots of helpful Roman history and myths through the quest. Clio taught Hyacinthus history herself to make sure he didn’t repeat the mistakes of his ancestors. Jason and Reyna learned from previous emperors mistakes and tried to emulate the admirable ones in their own leadership styles.
Both were killed by a god (since Caligula had basically become a god by that point) that was mad at Apollo. Apollo felt incredibly guilty over both their deaths, feeling that they wouldn’t have died if he had done better and acted differently, that they died because they were with him.
Hyacinthus loves Apollo dearly. Apollo thinks of him as one of his two greatest loves. Jason defended Apollo to their father at the end of the HoO quest, something that means a lot to Apollo, because not even Artemis, his twin sister, spoke on his behalf because nobody was ever brave enough to stand up to Zeus. That puts Jason higher on Apollo’s list of recognised siblings and half-siblings, since it’s suggested he’s never really paid a great deal of attention to demigod half-siblings before.
Maybe there’s some other things as well but that’s all I can think of for now. But for two totally unrelated characters that’s a lot in common. Just wonder if Apollo thought about any of that and if it made him sadder when Jason died too.
Oh, and obviously, the fact that both their heads are magnets for flying projectiles.

WHAT THE HECK#the frickin... dedication was to MELPOMENE aka MUSE OF TRADGEDY#i read that in the beginning like HAHA IM IN DANGER#for the first two books i was like ‘oh this is great all the folks from PJO and HOO are getting happy endings!’#everyone’s getting what they deserve! this is just a wacky road trip!#occaisonally sprinkled with messages like ‘capitalism bad/gaslighting bad/ect’#and sad moments like the bits with Hyacinthus and Daphne#but i was like oh we get happy things! canon boyfriends nico and will! lesbian power couple in book 2! bi disaster apollo!#and we get leo and calypso settling down ro figure out their relationship? and jason and piper breaking up but like healthily?#okay the piper/jason one isnt strictly happy but it was better than them being angry or sad. theyre still friends!#wheres that frickin BDG gif of what the f*** cuz#SPOILER AHEAD#BUT WHAT THE HECK RICK?? JASON DIES?????#he wasnt ever even one of my favorites? i didnt dislike him but still? he was so Good? he was a paragon’s paragon#i was freaking sobbing i think mostly because of Jason’s Goodness he just stands for so much good#and all his friends love him so much? frickin... Leo at the end ‘where’s Jason?’ i physically hurt#ive been comparing these books in my mind to the first Thor movie cuz theyre very similar: god turns human has to learn a lesson#but its different cuz Zeus turned Apollo human to punish him and be ashamed by mortals; Odin turned Thor human to humble him#Apollo’s taking more the Thor route as this goes and im so proud of him#and though im so sad about Jason i do love his promise he made Apollo swear: to Remember his time as a human when he’s a god again#apparently the next book is out later this year its been... 5 years since ive actively waited on an RR book lol the last one was BoO#sad thought but i imagine that nico and hazel felt when jason died and thats just making me even more sad#im excited to see the jupiter folks in the next book but frickin its gonna be sad then too with everybody learning about jason’s death#you know... at least it wasnt from getting hit on the head#i was laughing when he said that ‘getting hit on the head was his job’#it became a trope/joke but you know why that is right? the original jason died when the mast of the Argo fell on his head#im rambling now but i guess im excited for a new book i havent waited for a new book in so long i feel like im in high school lol
