Top 8 Chess Strategies Every Beginner Must Learn to Win More Games
Chess is not just a game; it is intelligence and strategy. For beginners, understanding the basic techniques is the foundation to improve and succeed in many games. Once you get these basics right, you can transition into random moves and playing with purpose and accuracy.
In this blog we will discuss the top 8 chess techniques that every beginner should learn to improve their game Plus, see how KingCompiler, the first chess course, can guide you in making these techniques in the exact same way.
1. Control the center from the beginning The center of the board (squares d4, d5, e4, e5) is the most important area in chess. Controlling it gives your piece more strength and power.
How to do it:
Start by moving pawns to control the center (e.g., e4 or d4).
Rotate your knights and bishops to have a mid-field effect.
At KingCompiler, students learn the importance of central control through practical exercises and expert guidance.

2. Make your pieces first A common early mistake is not getting pieces (knight, bishops, etc.) fast enough. Leaving them idle can hinder your chances of winning.
Key tips:
Prioritize the development of his army and bishops.
Avoid moving the same piece repeatedly in the opening.
KingCompiler ensures that beginners understand the importance of progress and teaches effective ways to get pieces in play.
3. The King Puts Safety First (Castling) . Protecting your king is an important option. Leaving your king out can leave you vulnerable to previous attacks.
What you need to do:
Protect your king by the gates of the castle in the morning.
Avoid unnecessary pawn behavior with the king.
KingCompiler teaches beginners the importance of king defense and how to balance offense and defence.
4. Avoid moving the same piece repeatedly in the opening Repetition wastes time and gives your opponent a progression advantage.
Why it matters:
Any move should help create a stronger position.
Avoid “block-fitting” without a clear purpose.
KingCompiler’s class list emphasizes efficient block movement and proper programming.
5. Create a solid pawn system Your pawns are the backbone of your position. Weak pawn policies can lead to long-term losses.
Best Practices:
Avoid isolated, double, or backward pawns.
Target connected pawns helping each other.
KingCompiler trains beginners to avoid common pitfalls in order to build robust pawn systems.
6. Learn the basic checkmate system Checkmating an opponent is the main goal of chess. Beginners should focus on creating basic prototypes e.g.
Back-Rank Checkmate.
King and Rook Checkmate.
Checkmate in King and Queen.
In KingCompiler, students use this model until they create a second product.
7. Understand the relative value of each piece Each piece has a specific value (e.g. Pawns = 1, Knights/Bishops = 3, Rooks = 5, Queens = 9). Understanding this helps you make better decisions about change.
Key tips:
Avoid unnecessary changes unless they benefit you.
Always consider piece price and position.
KingCompiler provides guidance exercises to help players figure out when and why to swap pieces.

8. Transition Smoothly Between Opening, Middle, and Endgame
Beginners often struggle with connecting the phases of a game. Understanding how to transition is essential for long-term success.
Tips for a Smooth Transition:
Focus on piece activity in the opening.
Look for tactical opportunities in the middle game.
Master key endgame principles like pawn promotion and opposition.
At KingCompiler, we guide beginners through each phase with step-by-step instruction and real-game scenarios.
Why These Strategies Matter
Mastering these eight strategies will:
Improve your decision-making.
Build your confidence as a chess player.
Help you win more games against opponents of all levels.

How do I set up a chess match so that white always looses?
I set up a chess match, make the first move with white pieces. Then I make a move with black. After the first moves have been done, I invite a second player to the board. I give them the white pieces and play with the black myself. - What moves do I need to do, so that white always looses against black in this setup?
Now, same thing, except I now want my white pieces opponent to have a guaranteed win against me. How do I set it up?
(Note that I have played chess once in my life, years ago. I don't know anything about it. And yes, this is about Deltarune. I really like this idea, ok? I'm also terrible at researching with a search engine, that's why I'm asking Tumblr.)

so bill and ford dont know how chess fucking works
you Cannot use that as an opening move. the knight cant move that far, literally in the middle of the board ,on the complete opposite of the board from where it started. Also bill is playing black, white is always first to move so he should NOT be opening
And ford, babe, that queen cant move with a pawn in her way, and also cant move that far across the board in one turn.
so anyway headcanon that they are both faking being able to play cause chess is a Smart People Thing.

Tonight I learned that my 20 yr old partner has never played chess and doesn't know how to play chess. This is mind boggling to me. They claim its not weird for people to not know anything about chess so I. I need to see. Please.
Okay so, I made a mistake in not elaborating the meaning of the options. You do not have to be good or know what you are doing in the slightest to pick that you have played before. The middle three options are for your understanding of the game having never played it at all. The reason there's a percentage on the last option is because my partner made a tumblr so they could pick it because they think they are hilarious.
#crab says words#chess#tumblr polls#i learned how to play in elementary school and so did all my siblings#i use to play chess with random people constantly in highschool#im really bad at chess but its still fun to play ya know#i just am so shocked they literally knew nothing other than “the horses can move in an L shape”#i taught them how to play and made then play with me so dont worry i fixed the situation 😌#pls reblog this 🥺#i take it back!! my notifications will never recover!!! pls stop reblogging this!!!!!!

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game
Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.
And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.
#DPxDC#Kizzer55555 ideas#Danny makes a card game to save the world.#Technically he worded the ritual so that they had to ‘beat’ him as those are the most powerful barriers and most reliable.#keys can just get lost or stolen (like the one to Pariah’s Coffin)#A riddle would be useless once someone figured out the answer. Like how no one takes the sphynx seriously anymore.#(Sorry Tuck. But it’s true).#And there is NO WAY Danny is just leaving a hole open for anyone to pass through. No thank you!#So…beating him. But it’s not like Danny wanted to fight so…he edited the ritual a TINY bit. Card games are good. Much less painful too.#Danny Tucker and Sam made the most complicated card game they could imagine.#It’s based on their strategies for fighting ghosts. Capturing them in thermoses. And MUCH based on a on field battle strategy.#It often requires spontaneous thinking on the spot. So Danny? In his ELEMNT. It doubles as practice for his actual ghost battles too.#They had SO much fun making this.#Sam added an entire series of plant cards that act as traps and healing ointments and duds that just take up the field.#Tucker added legitimate hyroglyphics combined with Latin as well as English and ghost speak.#Yes. You actually have to speak that language to play. With proper pronunciation. (Amity Parker’s think the three are talking gibberish.)#I headcanon Sam and Tucker are fluent in Ghost.#Constantine WILL figure this game out SO HELP HIM!#Some of the cards also have combinations related to constellations either in name or placement on the board.#By the way the board is based on a Hexagonal summoning circle with Rhunes along the edges#And the placement of the cards on the board and on what rhune MATTERS.#Also the cards move disintegrate and have certain abilities. Think of Harry Potter Wizard Chess.#But they are normal when Danny plays at school. This is just for ✨effect✨ Against invaders.#Danny faces multiple opponents. He also halts alien invasions.#While Danny COULD stop crime on earth he’s not sure how to fight a normal human and hold back so he sticks to ghosts.#The Justice league are going crazy trying to figure out who this entity is and after deep research are convinced this is some sort of#Ancient being who has protected earth for millenia. They have paintings on ruins and everything.#Danny is not aware they think this.#Raven starts praying to Danny as if he is a god and wrangles the other Teen Titans into doing so as well. Danny is still unaware of this.#Danny is not a King or an ancient. Just a very VERY strong ghost.

For all those skiing accidents Bruce gets into, he must have to actually go skiing a couple of times just for the press coverage.
And before he buys the Planet, Perry sends Clark out to do a piece on the skiing industry and hopefully get an interview with the walking safety hazard that is Bruce Wayne.
Or honestly, have them meet as civilians at any of Bruce’s extreme sport covers. Because galas are boring as fuck and I wanna see Brucie Wayne try and teach Clark Kent how to ski.
#batman#bruce wayne#superman#clark kent#superbat#bruce trying to figure out how competent he needs to pretend to be at skiing#because all of the accidents happen in remote mountain ranges since no ski lodge would allow that sort of bad press that often#and he needs to be moderately competent in order to sell doing the high stakes skiing#but the whole point is that he often ends up in multiple casts so he’s gotta be somewhat accident prone#and then there’s clark from kansas who can fly but has more experience cross country skiing than downhill#and bruce entertains himself flirting with the reporter he knows had been at a couple of galas but always had a different story to cover#maybe the get snowed into the lodge and just end up playing chess or something and bruce can’t tell if he’d rather have his kids here#or is thankful they aren’t here to wait him fail so badly at flirting with the cute reporter#idk how to reveal their identities maybe they both get an emergency JL call but god let them meet somewhere not a gala
