Laura Wright, known for her role on General Hospital, recently opened up about her challenging experience with perimenopause and menopause. Despite her active lifestyle and healthy diet, Wright struggled with debilitating symptoms including severe anxiety, panic attacks, weight gain, and sleep disturbances. After reaching a breaking point last January, she sought help from a menopause specialist who provided hormone replacement therapy, ultimately improving her quality of life.
Important points:
Wright experienced severe symptoms such as hot flashes, anxiety attacks, and forgetfulness while filming General Hospital.
She was misdiagnosed and underwent unnecessary surgeries before receiving proper treatment for perimenopause.
Wright advocates for better education and understanding of menopause in medical training, emphasizing the need for personalized care and treatment options tailored to individual women's needs.

I love buying clothes for if my medical issues suddenly clear up.
I just bought a blouse that’s going to be way to hot, but if I stop getting hot flashes at age 20, boy will I be ready

my anxiety is running so high today that I keep hot flashing, and then I end up shivering, that now I'm sitting in front of a fan, with my shirt rolled up, one sock on and one sock off, drinking hot chocolate. Attempting some convoluted way of thermoregulation.
What the hell is happening, right now?

Either I have started having hot flashes again for the first time in 8 years or it's just the heat. I honestly cannot tell. But it is worrying me.
I guess I will know once I get into my classroom and it is a lovely 68° if I'm still having them then..... I will know.

Okay, fellow disabled folks who get hot flashes, does anyone have any ACTUAL advice for dealing with them? Every time I try to look it up Google thinks I’m a 60 year old post menopausal woman and tells me to call my grandkids and use a fucking douche or something

For anyone having hot flashes (or will someday have them), taking a probiotic may help lessen their intensity. Give it a week. It won't make them go away, but it could make them more tolerable.
