Inn Over Her Head

Although hearing Blueberry mention the fact that she had been drawing when the storm hit made their ears perk up, Light held in their enthusiasm to avoid pressuring the shivering Mare. Instead, after they laid down, they kindly asked Blue if they could see any of the drawings she had made recently.

The small smile on her face grew warmer and brighter as Blue shyly chuckled, and told them that she would love to show them, but for now, she preferred to rest for a while. To her relief, they nodded with a smile of their own, when Melon suddenly asked her Siblings if she could bring them anything.

As if they were back at home, her Siblings replied that they would like something warm and sweet to drink, to which Melon nodded, before she quickly rushed to the kitchen, followed by Light. But just after they closed the door, and she had put the kettle on for tea, Melon let out a frustrated sigh.

In an instant, Light worriedly asked her if anything was wrong, to which she shook her head, before she apologised to them for how busy the Inn was. If only she had known that so many of her Siblings would arrive in quick succession, all needing help or support, she would have been better prepared.

When she put her hooves to her face and leaned back against the door, however, Melon did not notice that Light slowly sat down next to her, until they quietly told her that they were here for her. In response, Melon gently took one of Light's hooves, and held it until the kettle started to whistle.

Fortunately, Light managed to take the kettle off the stove from where they and Melon were sitting, before they rose to their hooves, and offered her to help look after her Siblings. Since she had so generously taken care of them, even when they were injured, it was only right for them to help her.

Even though she dearly loved her entire Family with all her heart, Melon also knew far too well how great a headache her Siblings were, and she hesitated to accept their offer. But when Light reached out their hoof, she noticed the warm smile on their face, and she could not help but smile herself.

After Melon took their hoof, Light easily helped her to her hooves again, before they politely told her they should bring these drinks to her Siblings first. But as they grabbed a couple of mugs from the cupboard to make tea, Melon sweetly laid her head on their back as she hugged them from behind.

As they let out a sigh of relief, Light gently took her hooves, and kissed them, which brought warm and bright blushes to both their faces. But when they finished pouring the tea, they turned around, and tapped on their chest, leading to Melon resting her head on their soft and fluffy mane instead.

Some time later, though, Melon whispered to Light that they should not let the tea get cold, and as much as it bothered her, she had to ask them to let go. Then, as they nervously chuckled, Light let go of Melon, who smiled to them in turn, before she grabbed a tray, and took all the mugs with her.

Back in the lounge, Melon was glad to find that Blueberry had some colour on her face again, before she carefully placed the cups of tea in front of her Siblings with a smile on her face. Just as she sat down, though, they asked her for something to eat, as well, and she leapt back onto her hooves.

But before she could even take a single step, Light got up as well, and quietly said:

"You do know you deserve to rest, too, right? Please, sit down. I've got this."

zooms around you !!! thank you thank you thank you I squish you. Its my favorite AU to write about in the whole world, and Honeydew is a character that's very fun to write, if only because of the sheer intensity of her self-confidence.

Okay I wanted to throw my hat in the ring because Honeydew Delight is in second place??? How?!?! This isn’t to say that Blueberry is at all a bad character- she seems very cute! But y’all are ready to ship her off when you know extremely little about her! So far all we have seen on the blog is that she is more shy/reserved and that she is romantic- all well and good but is that the best ship for Prism?

I believe that Honeydew is the best potential partner for Prism and here is why:

Out of all the siblings we have seen Honey most often and we know that she is a bit of a trouble maker/ prankster with a heart of gold. She loves and has huge loyalty to her family but isn’t afraid to get a bit dirty either. She has the personality to not only put Prism in his place when needed but also to join him in some good shenanigans. She won’t let him get into the same trouble he had gotten into before but also wouldn’t expect him to stop being himself. She loves adventure and I bet would love to see the world with Prism. She is strong willed and really sweet so she has enough back bone to not be completely swept up in him (and ignore red flags if they came up) but also enough patients to help him grow. She doesn’t expect Prism to be her knight in shining armor, she just wants him to be her partner. Through thick and thin. At least that’s how I see the relationship!

Again this isn’t the say that if Prism were to get with Blueberry it be bad- I just personally think a hiking buddy who wouldn’t flinch at Aerial when she comes a knocking would be more attractive to Prism than a woman who would hid behind him. He just seems like the kind of guy who wants a powerful lady and Blueberry doesn’t seem to be that!

Besides I think Blueberry Joy deserves to meet her own knight in shinning armor to sweep her off her feet!

Anyways for reading all this have something I whipped up super quick! This piece originally had dialogue but I’ll spare you 😳

Something Blue

When Melon came into contact with Light, however, the sly smirk on her face swiftly faded away, and a warm smile took its place mere moments later, and she sighed deeply in relief. The only thing she could whisper to Light before she melted into a gentle embrace was that they felt wonderfully warm.

In turn, Light sweetly smiled as they pulled Melon even closer to keep her out of the icy wind, and away from the falling snow, which melted before it got close to them. Then, after they gave Melon a soft kiss on her head, Light politely apologised again for laughing, to which Melon quietly hummed.

Though the sky was quickly growing more turbulent, and Light figured that the snowfall would worsen on their way back, they were close to town already, and Melon and they had little left to do there. But since Melon was still resting her head on their torso, Light would not dare quicken their pace.

When they made it to town, Melon told Light the path she wanted to take, before they briefly headed to the post office to post her letters. Afterwards, they passed through a small market to reach the shops, and finally, they went back to the Inn with extra supplies, just in case they got snowed in.

With Light carrying Melon's bags on their back, as well as Melon herself, they quickly trotted back to the Inn, trying to make sure that the candles they had bought would not melt. But not long after they entered the forest, Melon saw a figure trudging through the snow, and she asked Light to wait.

After she pointed out the lone figure, Light rushed over to help them, when Melon realised that she recognised the Mare with the deep blue coat, and she leapt off Light's back in a panic. Then, Melon gently took the Mare into her arms, and asked Blueberry Joy if she was all right, as she felt cold.

All Blueberry could muster was a quiet chuckle, before she slowly grabbed her oldest Sister's hoof, and told her how lovely it was to see her again. As Melon's eyes welled up with tears, she held her Sister's hoof to her chest with a warm smile, before she turned around to ask Light for their help.

Without a second thought, Light lowered their body to the ground, allowing both Melon and Blueberry to get on their back. But just before they got up again, Blueberry pointed to where she was lying a moment ago, and told Melon to not forget her satchel, before she fell back in her Sister's embrace.

Fortunately, Light managed to grab her satchel, and after they made sure the two Fruit Sisters were safely on their back, they flew back to the Inn at winged speed, arriving only a few moments later. Here, they carefully laid Blueberry down in the lounge in front of the hearth, and Straw and Honey.

Before Light even got up again, Strawberry dashed to the side of his twin Sister, and took her into his warm embrace, while Light got up to give the Fruit Siblings some space. While the others looked after Blueberry, Light unpacked and stored away everything they brought, except for Blue's satchel.

When they returned to the lounge, Light sighed in relief when they saw that Blueberry had woken up, and was wrapped in a blanket in her twin Brother's arms, where she waved at them. When Light showed Blue her satchel, she gasped with a smile on her face, and thanked Light and Melon for bringing it.

As Light sat down next to Melon, they asked Blue how she got stranded there, to which she replied:

"The snowstorm caught me off-guard when I was drawing… I'm glad you two found me and my satchel."
