Professional Drug Detox vs. Home Detox: Which Is Best?
When considering drug detox, it's essential to understand the differences between professional detox centers and home detox. Professional centers provide medical supervision, comprehensive care, and a structured environment, crucial for managing withdrawal symptoms safely. In contrast, home detox may seem appealing due to its convenience, but it often lacks medical oversight, increasing risks associated with withdrawal. This page delves into the advantages and disadvantages of each option, empowering individuals to make informed choices based on their specific needs, addiction severity, and support systems available during recovery.

A Science-Based Perspective on Oil Pulling
Hi friends! I have heard great things about oil pulling for a few months, and Ive been practicing it daily for weeks now. It’s been stated many times that Oil Pulling is part of the venerable tradition of Ayurvedic health care, which has been called the oldest health care system in the world. While many modern dentists and doctors have acknowledged that the anti bacterial effect could be helpful, I found few go father than that… until I found this article, which has 35 references for all the ways oil pulling benefits your oral and overall hygiene (written by Vagish Kumar L. Shanbhag). Read on and discover how this stunningly cheap method can benefit your overall health.
.
“Oil pulling activates salivary enzymes which absorb toxins such as chemical toxins, bacterial toxins and environmental toxins from the blood and removed from the body through the tongue.”
.
“Four researchers in their study involving 60 adolescents of age 16–18 years with plaque induced gingivitis, observed statistically significant reduction of plaque and gingival indices upon oil pulling using coconut oil.”
.
“Modified Gingival Index and plaque index by Sillness and Loe were measured at baseline and on days 1, 7, 15 and 30. Steady decline in indices was found from day seven. Plaque and gingival indices significantly decreased after 30 days of oil pulling. The study observed 50% decreases in gingival and plaque indices after four weeks which is comparatively similar to results produced by chlorhexidine. They concluded that oil pulling with coconut oil is helpful in decreasing plaque formation and plaque induced gingivitis.”
.
“Three authors carried out a microbiological study on the effect of sesame oil pulling on plaque, gingivitis and colony forming bacteria. Twenty subjects of the study performed oil pulling for 15–20 min daily for a period of forty five days. The study observed that oil pulling resulted in statistically significant decrease in plaque, gingival scores and bacterial counts.”

Nothing like having to do a full hazmat routine on your kid when she gets home from school because she did a gluing project with peanut butter cereal, and even though SHES not allergic, YOU are and may go into anaphylactic shock if you ingest a tiny amount
#scrunch life#scrunch rants#she’s not allergic herself so I don’t really have any recourse I just need to detox her when she gets home 🙃

If you use men's mental health only as a counter argument in a gender disparity debate then you don't give a shit about men's mental health
#do you call your male friends to check in on them? do you tell them to rest when they need to? do you tell them#not to call themselves stupid because it's hurting their self image in the long run?#do you pick up your friends on a bridge at 1am because they were having suicidal ideations?#do you cut fruit for them and listen to their concerns about whats going on in their life? do you make it safe for them to express#their feelings without bigoted judgement?#do you give constructive advice but also let them vent about their irrational fears without making a joke out of it?#do you try to remind them that being violent towards themselves and others is only going to make things worse?#do you walk your drunk male friend home because its dangerous to let an inebriated person walk home alone?#do you pay attention to how many substances your male friend has been taking in an overly short period of time and try to help detox?#do you take your friend on simple hangouts just to unwind and show care about their projects and interests??#because if you dont then you dont fucking care about men's mental health.#i do this for All of my friends of all genders. care about everyones fucking mental health. all the time. not as an argument but#because you love your peers#you cunts#misc#im pissed

I wish it was possible to hold an actually productive discussion with an older person about gen z's phone addiction. Because it's always like, "just stop" like yeah. No shit. The issue is, in this day and age, I'm dependent on my phone. You can quit alcohol by no longer drinking it. You can't quit phone by no longer using it, because you cant stop using your phone. That's how I contact my friends, it's how I pay for various types of transportation, it's how I access my schedule for school and work, it's how I FUCKING IDENTIFY MYSELF for most things online. I'm completely fucking dependent on my phone, and belive me I wish I had other options, but I can't even get a fucking bus card anymore. Of course, I could uninstall my social media. Issue here is that social media is the main way I communicate with most of my friends, and different friend groups use different social media. It's also completely pointless, because they're too easy to access through the browser (I literally uninstalled youtube to stop watching shorts, but that didn't help). I probably should uninstall the games I have, that one I can buy. But on the other hand, I'd rather be addicted to a stupid mobile game than instagram reels, because only one of them is inventing new insecurities for me to have.
Idk I just wish we could have a productive discussion on the issue and why it is and what solutions we could find. Preferably in a way that doesn't shame young people for being addicted to a device specifically designed to make them addicted.
#theres not even a help desk at train stations anymore. they barely have ticket machines. you have no fucking options other than phone#if i still lived at home id detox by hiding all my electronics in the basement for a week#but my family will probably want to contact me within a week. and the school orgs im in will need to contact me#i will need to read my schedule for work#i try so hard not to romanticise the past because i know id probably kms in the 50s. but i also wouldn't've had to deal with this shit#why couldnt i have been in my 50s right now? that wouldve been so nice. im sick of teenhood. and im not looking forward to my 20s#im sick of the world and ive barely started living in it#i know that part specifically will probably feel better when ive eaten dinner. but still

Spring Cleaning 7 Day Challenge
Day 1 - CLOSET: Pick 5 (or more) items of clothing to donate/sell/toss
Day 2 - UNDER GARMET DRAWER: Throw away all lonely socks, socks with holes in them, crunchy socks, underwear with holes or losing threads, underwear that no longer fits, bras that no longer fit, bras that no longer hold their shape, tights with runs or snags, undershirts that are stained or have holes.
Day 3 - THE JUNK DRAWER: Toss loose papers (if you have any with numbers or information you need, put them in your phone or write it down in a note book, or organize them into a folder) toss dried out pens and markers, collect items like clips, pins, paperclips, batteries, etc. get rid of what you won't use. Toss menus, flyers, catalogs that are unused.
Day 4 - DIGITAL PURGE: Time to delete all the apps that you don't use, clean up your email, contacts and photo album on your digital devices. Create some space, literally.
Day 5 - KITCHEN SPACES: Purge out expired produce, sauces, pantry goods from your fridge/freezer/pantry. Peak through your cabinets to find any tubber wear that is missing a lid to toss to tubber wear that is cracked.
Day 6 - HANDBAG: Just dump the whole thing out. Toss the old receipts, gather up all the stray hair ties, pins, tampons, loose change or whatever and organize them into a pocket. Get rid of any unused cards in your wallet.
Day 7 - CAR: Take it for a wash, wipe down your dashboard, throw away all the trash, get rid of any expired registration papers, clean out the cup holders, go through the middle console and glove box, vacuum, maybe put in a new air freshener.
BONUS DAY (If one of these is not applicable to you) THE BOOK SHELF: Collect the books you have read or have not picked up in the last year and donate them (or sell)
Also go through your closet again and stop lying to yourself about that one shirt that you've been holding on to for years waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it too, or the pair of jeans from high school that you swear will fit you again one day. Fackin toss it already.
