ミ☆ Astro Notes!
some basic astrology notes based on personal experience and opinions
i'm not a professional astrologer, this is just for fun~
let me know if you guys think differently/have different experiences, or if you relate to any of these, i'm curious to know what everyone else thinks! :3
random natal observations;
✩ scorpio risings do have an intense, penetrating gaze, but i noticed it's not just risings but ANY scorpio placement has it. i know someone who's chart is mainly air, but their venus is in scorpio and whewww those intense EYES!! (also the amount of scorpio placements i've seen say they're too shy for eye contact??? ya'll don't know the power that you hold! use it! hehe)
✩ speaking of scorpio placements, i would never want to fight with a scorpio mercury, those people will break you with their words if pushed far enough. their words will cut you deep, they know exactly what to say to hurt someone.
✩ pls stop saying aquarians (especially moons) are emotionless and don't care about anything. they can be like this if they choose to, that's their superpower, they can detach themselves from people and situations and emotions at will, but it doesn't mean they're emotionless or like robots, if anything their emotions run too deep sometimes and it all gets overwhelming, to the point where they need to take a step back. once you're close to an aquarian though, they'll open up, trust.
✩ also once an aquarius is done, they're done. they give many chances and are generous, but once they decide to leave, a switch happens and the warm, friendly person is gone. it's true that they are masters at ghosting and detaching, but if they do so, it's always for a reason.
✩ something i've noticed with leo moons (especially if they have scorpio sun or other scorpio placements) is they tend to be a bit selfish, idk if its subconscious or not. they care a lot about their own feelings, but dismiss other people's feelings and have a 'it's not that deep' attitude when they do something that hurts others. I've noticed this with 3 different scorpio sun/leo moon people.
✩ if astrology isn't real then why do sagittarius placements speak before they think??? lol it's kinda funny seeing their faces when they realise they just said something outrageous.
✩ people with venus in their 5th, please stop flirting with everything that has a pulse are ya'll not tired??? (teach me your rizz ways).
✩ i'm calling ya'll out, but cancer moons, please stop playing the victim in situations you created! just take responsibility and move on, no need to play the blaming, crying game. i believe in you! :)
✩ i've noticed pisces mercury people have sweet, soft voices but they tend to mess up when they talk a lot? like stuttering, forgetting what word they wanted to say, mispronouncing words. i guess it's the neptunian energy messing with mercury? anyone else notice it or just me?
✩ my mom is a scorpio mars and she refused to enter a shop where a lady she had beef with 30 years ago works saying "i don't fuck with her" LMFAO the scorpio placements (especially mars) and the grudge holding stereotype is realllll
✩ someone having juno/venus in their 11th house really likes the idea of friends to lovers type of romance! the types to want their lover also be their best friend. ♡
✩ to those who have mars square pluto, it gets better, i promise. you will heal, and the darkness won't last forever. remember that you hold a lot of power within you!
✩ harsh aspects to the MC, especially with sun/moon/mars, can definitely indicate a delay when it comes to finding a career, holding down a job, deciding what you want to do in life. remember that life isn't a race or a competition, even if it seems this way in this society, do it all at your own pace. it's your life, after all!
random synastry observations;
✩ not really an observation but i find it hilarious how some people are obsessed with the 8th house especially synastry, when it's the house that rules obsession lol the irony.
✩ personally, i've had 8th house synastry quite a lot, and i noticed that i prefer being the planet person, when i'm house i feel the 8th house energy way more to the point where it can become too overwhelming, when i'm the planet i feel it but not as intensely. so in my experience, the house person is the one who's more obsessed/attached/repulsed.
✩ someone's ascendant falling into another's 8th house will make the 8th house person feel intimidated/scared of the ascendant even if there's no reason to be.
✩ a family member's chiron falling in someone's 4th house can indicate deep wounds when it comes to family/childhood, the chiron person either created the wounds or triggers them for the house person. :/
✩ on a lighter note, someone's venus in another's 1st house! how sweet! i noticed it doesn't even have to be conjunct to the ascendant (although it definitely helps if it is), the attraction/appreciation is still definitely there! the venus person loves the 1st house and how they look and present themselves, if romantic, i picture the gif of a cartoon character with heart eyes popping out when they look at the 1st house person!
✩ 12th house synastry really does feel foggy, more so for the planet person, you never actually know what the house truly thinks of you, when you're together it can feel awesome and like such a close bond, but when apart suddenly doubts start to come in, like "do they really like me?" or "are we actually close or am i being delusional and imagining it?" and "what if it's one sided and only i'm feeling this way, and the house doesn't even care?" it can be a real mindfuck fr.
✩ someone's mars falling in another's 3rd house and/or conjunct their mercury can show the two people love talking to each other and have the most engaging and diverse conversations, the types to just stay up all night and talk about 100s of different topics! if badly aspected though it can lead to heated debates and arguments, especially the mars person being more argumentative and aggressive in their approach.
✩ venus conjunct someone's chiron is super nice to have, the venus person soothes the chiron person and helps them heal whatever wounds they are carrying! very supportive and sweet bond.
✩ in friendships/family, moon conjunct mars can feel abrasive for the moon person, the mars person being too aggressive/harsh for the moon even if they don't mean it and it's subconscious, the moon tends to take mars' words and actions to heart.
✩ in romantic relationships though, i personally found it works really well, the bond they have is amazing and the mars person tends to be very protective and loyal when it comes to the moon, it's a fiery aspect so when they fight they fight hard, but when they love, it burns in the best way possible!
✩ 6th house synastry really doesn't get enough attention and a lot of people tend to gloss over it, but it's so cute! it's definitely an acts of service and quality time type of vibe between two people, they just love hanging out with each other even if they're not doing anything in particular, or they love helping each other out with different things. it gives cooking/baking together, having movie marathons with a bunch of snacks and blankets, napping together, going for late night walks/drives just bc, one person is reading and the other is watching tiktoks while enjoying the comfortable silence.
these are some of my basic observations, feel free to agree/disagree with me! i hope ya'll have a nice day! ♡

hello mr gaiman! this isn’t a question I just wanted to thank you for good omens and all the joy it has brought me.
I am a very flamboyant and feminine man. I use wild hand gestures, I talk loudly and dramatically, and the way I present myself often gets me a lot of strange looks and ridicule from people. Whenever I see people who look/act like me in media, they are usually treated as the butt of the joke, something hilarious for the audience to laugh at. One of the only characters who isn’t like that is Aziraphale. Aziraphale is dramatic and feminine, but not in a way that is for the audience to laugh at. He is a funny character, but not because of his mannerisms, mostly because of his naïveté and general silliness. He is not the same hurtful stereotype that I’ve been forced to watch again and again. For my whole life I’ve often been treated like this walking circus. I’ve had to hide who I am in order to be taken seriously by most people. It just feels so refreshing to see a character like me be celebrated and loved for his mannerisms. Watching him in season 1 gave me the confidence to be prouder and more true to who I am. Watching season 2 just made me feel even stronger and more confident. He gave me hope that even if everyone is laughing at me right now, someday soon I can be taken seriously.
I know you probably won’t see this, but thank you anyway. This show/book means so much to me and many others. I hope you have a good day :)
I'm so glad. I love him so much, and I know that Michael Sheen loves him too.

What people often get wrong about young Ford
Strong title, I know. By “young Ford,” I mean baby and teen Ford.
When people think of baby Ford, what kind of personality do they envision? Many times—as I can attest due to fanfic reading—they seem to picture him as shy, sweet, quiet, and, in Stan’s words, “Mr. Good Nerdy-Shoes” who couldn’t stand up for himself nor think of disobeying adult authority. Look at his adorable little face.

When they think of teen Ford, he is not so sweet anymore, true—but he still contrasts greatly with his adult self, who is so assertive and confrontational, and even with young Stan, who looks extra brash next to him. That is ostensibly why Ford couldn’t stand up for Stan in the principal’s office, even though he would have had if he had more courage.
Is this general portrayal faithful to what we’re shown in canon? My own answer would be a firm no. I’ll elaborate why, exactly, below the cut.
The first thing we have to establish, imo, is that young Ford isn’t a completely different creature, a boy unrecognisable from the man he is going to become. That even baby Ford already shared, to a certain extent, some of adult Ford’s traits, and not only the most “wholesome” of them—the endearing fascination with science and anomalies and nerdiness, that is.
We can notice, for example, his ambition (back then):

We can notice he’s apparently (from what is shown to us, which is not much) the one used to decide what the Stan twins did every day, the Phineas to Stan’s Ferb:

Stan asks him, and he answers—a perhaps unintended but still fascinating parallel to how Ford was also the one to decide their destiny in the finale, namely to hunt anomalies in the Arctic.
He’s the one who rides their bike in the two panels we see them riding it. Maybe an insignificant (and definitely unintended) detail but fitting, imo, with the pattern of Ford leading and Stan tagging along.

Despite these two observations being more my particular observations than anything else, the need to draw a visual parallel between baby Ford with his adult self was the whole point of dressing them in similar outfits, with the red turtleneck:

That said, let’s focus on two major things here...
Was Ford ever a goody-two-shoes?
I think nothing is more fitting than to start this topic with Stan’s little nickname for Ford in the comics: “Mr. Goody Nerd-Shoes.”

If you have read Journal 3—hell, if you have watched the show at all—you know that Stanford Pines is far, far from being a goody two-shoes, despite indeed being a huge nerd. (An important distinction! Ford doesn’t fit nerd stereotypes!) The guy stole radioactive waste from the government even before his portal days, became an intergalactic criminal described as “armed and dangerous,” lent a mind-control tie to a child... Stan is just living in the past and doesn’t understand that Ford changed, right? He isn’t that sweet little boy who could do no wrong anymore!
But... was he ever?
He found it hilarious when Stan mocked their teacher with an unflattering caricature, and doesn’t even bother to hide it.

He helped Stan cheat on tests/assignments (it’s not clear what exactly they’re doing here, but the fact Stan was trying hard to copy it from Ford and not from the blackboard tells us he wasn’t simply copying notes, but answers). Do notice that Ford doesn’t seem bothered, not even anxious or afraid of the teacher catching them. He’s smiling.

Both occasions seem to indicate that despite taking his studies seriously, Ford didn’t have a particularly strong fear of adult authority.
And of course—the best for last—he found it perfectly normal to impersonate two boys he mistakenly thought were dead:

Alex elaborates on the shenanigans those two would get up to in the commentary A Tale of Two Stans:
We played around with the idea that you would see them working together doing little science games or pulling little pranks. There was actually a scene that—I think some of it was even storyboarded—where they have a treehouse. And they’re in the treehouse together and Crampelter and his friends have tracked them down and are begging for their lunch money and Stan and Ford have used their jerkiness and geniusness to rig up like a water balloon throwing machine that knocks Crampelter in the head. I remember him saying, “oh no, my old-timey paper crown!” We were really hanging a lampshade on all these sort of Little Rascal cliches.
They were—both of them—an utter menace. I think Ford just happened to be way subtler about it than poor Stan, causing his misbehaving nature to be easily ignored by both the audience and, luckily, his father Filbrick.
Was Ford ever meek and conflict-avoidant?
I think many people think Stan was the protector and Ford the protected in their early years, but it was never as straightforward as this.

Young Ford is very sensitive about one thing in particular: when people mock his hands or imply he’s a freak. The way I see it, it’s because he believes that, deep down. He believes he’s indeed a freak. On top of that, he cares more about general public opinion than Stan does, since Stan is only ever shown to care about the opinion of his own family.

The insecurity about his hands is something that arguably follows him to adulthood:
(Of course, Ford doesn’t blush and doesn’t demonstrate any insecurity here, but he’s gotten way better at hiding and/or suppressing his feelings. I doubt Bill would have chosen this to pick up on if he didn’t think it would hurt.)
Outside of that, however?

He was quite confrontational! Certainly way more than I remember being when I was his age, as a conflict-avoidant child.
Quite angry, too:

(Notice how, in the original idea of Stan and Ford rigging up a water fountain described in the previous topic, Ford wasn’t afraid to pull a prank on Crampelter, either, despite being sensitive towards Crampelter’s targeted mocking of his hands.)
And most interesting of all—he was not afraid of stand up for Stanley, even when it would cost him to do so (considering that the Sibling Brothers had threatened to frame him as well and let him face Filbrick’s punishment along with Stan in case he made the wrong choice):

Not even when Filbrick was involved directly, instead of being used as the Siblings Brothers’ invisible threat! Pay attention to how Stan hides behind Ford as he tells Ford, “tell ‘im, Sixer!” basically using his brother as a shield, hahah. And, by the way, subverting the common fanon perception that Stan would often protect his twin from his father while a helpless, scared Ford would only watch and let him take the punishment. This is one of the reasons why he gets angry at Stan for lying: “I defended you!”

When Stan is being kicked out, he actively asks Ford for help, once again, just like he did as a kid!

Not even their mom, Caryn, but Ford!
And Stan knows Ford like the back of his hand! Why would Stan ask for Ford to defend him, to stand up to Filbrick, if he didn’t think Ford was capable of it? Ford’s protection was something that Stan thought he could rely on, if only this once, with such high stakes and urgency... despite...

... despite Ford completely failing to defend him in front of the principal, yes.
Remember how Ford always struggled to defend himself from comments that he believed deep, deep down? I think a similar thing was happening here, in the principal’s office. Of course, he wouldn’t have thought of Stan as “a clown,” at the very least not consciously, and he loved his brother, but at that point in their lives the difference between Ford’s and Stan’s accomplishments and abilities must have been undeniable, with the world at large pointing it out more and more often.
This moment in the series was also probably inspired by the real moment in Alex’s life that inspired the scene in which Mabel overhead Ford’s proposal to Dipper, according to the commentary of Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future:
This idea of Mabel overhearing Dipper and feeling left out actually came from a real thing that happened between me and my sister. This is a weird anecdote about me and my sister but we did this kind of like, sort of competitive improv games when we were in middle school, very nerdy. And we did pretty good, like, our team made it to the international competition every year, and there was this high school team... [...] We had a pretty good team, but there was a team above us, the high school team, that was like, legendary, that we wanted to be like. And when me and my sister went from junior high school to high school, like, this is going to be our last year to do this sort of competitive improv, and I got a call from the high school team saying “hey, guess what? we already raided your team for the standout members, we’ve taken the people from your team that always do good scores and we’re combining the high school team and the middle school team into a super team and we would like you to be on the high school team. And I was like, “what about Ariel?” And they were like, “well, there’s only seven members per team—” and Ariel was listening on the conversation and I remember her like, bursting into tears because they had basically been like yeah, we got two Hirsches [and] we only want one, and I didn’t even blink. I just said, “no, I refuse to be on this team.” Like, I couldn’t, it was just like, this is so messed up, you’re breaking this whole thing apart, like yeah, it’s a great team, yeah, you guys are awesome, but I’m not gonna do this without Ariel.
Based on Alex’s immediate and strong reaction to such a proposal, it’s not a stretch to think Ford’s silence here was indeed telling—especially because in Alex’s case, Ariel was never insulted. The principal, on the other hand, calls Stan a “clown,” says “he’ll be lucky to graduate high school.”
And because Caryn (who failed to defend Stan when he’s kicked out) did react about the way the principal was talked about him/did ask about him, in the two opportunities that were given to her, basically taking Alex’s irl role in the situation:
Dipper himself also asked about Mabel, even though he was being given an opportunity to learn from The Author of the Journals, whom he admired to the point of almost worship:
A significant factor I think could have changed for Ford to stay silent as the principal badmouthed Stan is: Ford’s priorities. Before, when they were children and more carefree and naive, it was Stan > the world (such as other people’s opinions and his ambition). Now, though, with a true opportunity to finally prove himself—one unlike any other he had before, capable of earning him the approval of even their “tough as a cinderblock” father—he was clinging hard to it.
And you might also be thinking, “but the examples you gave of Ford being assertive were only of baby Ford! Teen Ford could have grown more insecure. Perhaps Stan hadn’t realized that yet, or perhaps Stan was just desperate.” To that I say... fair enough! We don’t have enough canon material regarding teen Ford to decide how he behaved.
But we do have something regarding college Ford, just as he entered college, likely just months after Stan was kicked out—when he met Fiddleford, as described by Fiddleford himself on the TBoB website:

Lines such as “[...] my room mate, a freshman from New Jersey, barged in like he owned the place [...]” and “confidently declared” are very telling here. Of course, Ford didn’t stand up for Fiddleford in front of the whole class, but I honestly think that a) it was a different situation, considering the sheer amount of people/the presence of a public audience, and, partially due to that, b) it would have been a very unintelligent move if he didn’t have anything to defend Fiddleford with (to brag about something with zero backup, even if motivated by anger, is a very typical move of cartoon characters to create conflict for the plot... and also quite annoying to me personally, so I’m glad Ford didn’t go that route, hahah). Deciding to prove that Fiddleford’s theory was accurate first to shove it in everyone’s face second is a way smarter move and way, way more in line with Ford’s modus operandi, who—well—loves shoving the undeniable truth and/or his undeniable superiority in people’s faces. (From Journal 3, when Ford was already living in Gravity Falls: “I traveled to Northwest Manor to confront Old Man Northwest with the evidence of his family’s deceit [...]” and “Imagine the look on the dean of West Coast Tech’s face when he saw that the student he refused was now the next Einstein! Imagine how proud my family and hometown would be: the ‘Freak’ would return a hero!”) Personally, the vibes I get from this seem to indicate a very confident Ford already! A Ford who would have defended Stan if he weren’t already slowly internalizing and subconsciously agreeing with the things people said about his brother, or—at the very least—asked the principal about Stan’s fate, like Alex, Caryn, and Dipper did/would have done in his place.
We also have a clear parallel between baby Ford in The Jersey Devil’s in the Details and teen Ford in A Tale of Two Stans. Both have people telling them they’re better than Stan. One defends Stan strongly, the other listens quietly. Both feel betrayed by Stan. One forgives Stan, the other doesn’t. Filbrick was involved in both situations—one wasn’t afraid of being framed if it meant standing with his brother, the other didn’t stand with his brother even as his brother was kicked out of the house.

Let’s remember the Sibling Brothers’ words to him:

“One day you’re gonna realize that you’re too good for him.” Unfortunately, that prophecy came true! Way too true!

In the commentary of Dipper and Mabel vs. The Future, Jason Ritter (Dipper’s VA) suggested that Ford believed than “you can be held back by your siblings,” to which Alex agreed. It’s not necessary to accept Word of God to understand this fact, either:

I didn’t want to end all of this on such a bitter note, since my last intention with this post is to give people more reason to hate on Ford. He is actually my favorite character and, if the parallels between The Jersey Devil’s in the Details and A Tale of Two Stans teach us anything, it is that Ford did have reasons to distrust Stan/not believe Stan was telling the truth about it being an accident. (Stan lies really, really well when he wants to! See: Not What He Seems!) It is exactly because of him being my favorite character, though, that I am so fascinated by his characterization, and I think baby Ford’s loyalty and courage deserves more appreciation. Teen Ford, on the other hand—it was never courage that he lacked.

The Strongest Feminist
tw: explicit content. satoru/reader. toxic frat boy cultures, misogyny, shitty behavior in general, non-consensual filming, stalking. satoru is a hilarious mixture of oblivious, in denial, insecure, and stupid fuckboy lmao.
Part Two of Fuckboy Gojo

fuckboy satoru gojo who doesn't know what to do.
sure, you talk to him all the time. you're "friends" - acquaintances, more like - but you don't really know each other.
not like how he knows you. knows what you look like naked, how cute your little pussy is (and that you wax. the asshole in the chat gloated about how he convinced you to do that before fucking you. said it was weird for a girl to have hair down there), how awful your taste in men is.
and also how cute you are when you laugh, how you have a surprising sense of humor and a passion for your major, for reading and writing and your face scrunches up when you concentrate just like it did when you cum -
okay. okay, okay, if he keeps thinking about that he's gonna go crazy. the point is, he knows you. he knows you real well.
but he's not sure you know him.
maybe you're too polite to ask. it's common knowledge the crowd he runs with, that he's a frat boy and all around man whore.
you never seemed to look at him different afterwards. even though you dated (fucked) one, yourself, and that guy treated you like shit and oh god do you think he's like that? you don't think satoru would treat you like that, right?
that's not the reason you haven't asked him out yet, or flirted with him. you don't think he's like that asshole, right???
you don't know anything about the group chat or their score cards (virgins worth ten points. god, it was gross, actually, wasn't it?) or the stuff satoru used to do with dumb girls who thought he actually liked them-
but he wouldn't do that to you! no way! you're sweet and friendly and you look at him with this sparkle in your eyes and everything! you don't deserve to be treated like that!
satoru gojo who finds himself hoping you haven't heard anything about him. who slips in mentions in conversation that there's lots of rumors out there about him - lots of jealous people of both genders. he gets a lot of attention, you see.
you don't tell him what you've heard, but you seem to take his words at face value. smiling, reassuring him, telling him he's been nothing but kind to you -
(he still jerks off to that video of you. every night now. sometimes twice a day.)
-and that's good, but it's not enough.
something must be stopping you from seeing him as an option. even though he's complained to you once or twice about being single.
he knows you're single. asked around - people will tell him anything and everything. it's gross, actually. he hates gossip. people have always talked about him, and now, it's getting in the way of his relationship with you.
he's getting more and more disgusted by the shit they say, they used to do, in that chat. in that friend group.
he doesn't want to stay, but what if they upload anything else about you? what about what they've done already?
satoru gojo who becomes a women's studies major - that's how disgusted he is. how removed he is from his previous attitudes.
he's not like how he was before. he's not like them. he cares, now. about women, about you.
it's like penance, in a way. his good deeds, making up for all the times he wronged those other girls. he reads about feminist literature, about emotional labor and mental loads and even sexual stereotypes.
man. women have it tough. it makes him feel bad, sends a churning in his gut, that you have to deal with stuff like this - being paid less, taken less seriously, always having to do more work in the relationship than their male counterparts.
if he were with you he'd never let it be like that. satoru would treat you like a queen, a goddess. someone to be worshipped and revered and adored.
because you are adorable. and sweet, and funny, and charming and beautiful and every other word for something good.
best thing that's ever happened to him, really.
he gets your number, at least - he's taking some classes from your major, too. it's hard to help being interested in it when he hears you talk about it, the interest and enthusiasm lighting up your face when he asks you the right questions.
god, he could hear you talk forever. you're so cute when you're being all smart and nerdy and stuff.
maybe it makes sense that he can't stop jerking off to the video of you.
well, he remembers from his classes that it's not supposed to be a woman's fault when men find her attractive. but! maybe it's not his fault either!
it's just like a... pre-game. you're going to start dating eventually, and you'd be flattered for him to jerk off to you afterwards. he's just fudging the dates a little.
see? he was paying attention!
he always pays attention when it has to do with you. it's a wonder you haven't noticed yet. he sends you good morning texts, talks to you about classwork, your hobbies and stuff.
maybe you'd even call him a friend. but friend isn't what he wants to be.
not that it's a bad thing! he's not complaining about the friendzone or anything!
but no one in their entire life has ever asked to be just his friend. even suguru bowed out of it later. plus, he's seen your pussy (not that you knew about that).
anyways, he has to find some way to get... closer. to get you to want to date him.
to be honest it's weird that you haven't even flirted with him or anything. but satoru can't blame you. maybe you're shy!
or maybe, he thinks, recalling the group chat... maybe you've just been burned already.
a part of him (which has has dubbed his "inner feminist") rankles in unbridled fury at the thought. you don't deserve that. you didn't deserve any of that.
and he didn't deserve to suffer for it, either. he would never! not to you, anyways.
but he's got to find something. some way to ingratiate himself to you. to get closer. he can't just come out and say it - that would be weird!
and... and what if you say no?
of course you want him. everyone wants him. even when his own parents stopped wanting him around, they still wanted him to do shit for them. get the degree, help run the business, all sorts of shit.
he's rich, handsome, and he has so much to offer. it's not a question of if you want him. he's sure you do - but maybe... maybe you'd reject him because you're afraid of being hurt again.
that makes sense. that's why he's afraid. he's afraid, you're afraid - but the love is there! he knows it! you could be so happy together!
there must be some way to prove that he's not like that guy, he's different. the women's studies thing, they're nice, but they don't make him fuckable. they don't make you see him.
not that he was doing it just to get your attention! he was doing it because he's a feminist, now!
that's why he stays in the group chat. if that guy uploads another video of you, if he has another video (he swore he didn't, but bitches like him will say anything under pressure), satoru has to know about it.
so he can tell you. yeah. to warn you.
yeah... he'll warn you.

there's a new video in the group chat.
it's obviously you in the thumbnail. a candid recording. he only sees you in the first few seconds before he pauses it, heart racing out of his chest.
fuck. fuck, no. can he - can he really do this?
this is awful. vile. sure, he watched the first video they sent about you but he didn't know you then.
didn't know how nice your smile was. didn't know you'd show it to him if only he looked your way. didn't realize how good it would feel just to be near you.
now, he wants to protect you. get close to you. treat you right, give you the things that asshole was too much of a loser to give you.
he - he's different from those guys. he IS. he cares about you.
the video is already uploaded. he can't stop now. it's there, in the group chat, where anyone can see it.
he can't back out now. he has to go through with this.
satoru gojo presses play.
the video... it's not sexy.
it's candid, sure. it's obvious you can't tell you're being filmed. but then he catches the surroundings.
this is inside your house. the video is being taken inside your house.
he sees you pick up a scarf - a gift he'd slipped you, covertly, just a few days ago.
and then.
the camera moves.
it shifts in a way that makes it obvious it's being held. there's a soft breathing sound in the background.
the video goes on for a few minutes until it cuts to black.
of course, your little ex boyfriend (ex situationship? piece of fucking shit lying little bitch) denies having taken it.
oh, he runs his mouth. says he's been trying to get you off his back for weeks, why would he follow you around? you're the one who was texting and calling and pining for him like a lost puppy.
(his fists hurt from clenching so hard.)
piece of shit. how the fuck would he know that you were pining for him if he really wasn't paying attention? satoru has to do all this fucking shit to win your trust just because somebody broke your heart!
he says he wouldn't date you if he was paid, much less stalk your loser ass.
(like he'd be that lucky. maybe that's why the loser didn't date you, because he knew he could never keep a girl like you by his side.)
it's not convincing. it's not convincing at all. satoru presses him, reminds him that no one would believe that bullshit after what he's done -
and then the fucking loser reminds him - who knows?
nobody. nobody outside the group chat does. no one's going to report them. they can't, not without being implicated.
you never even knew you were being filmed the first time (your first time), and how could you have?
your first time. you didn't even get off. he ditched you, didn't pick up your calls, answer your texts.
(blood pools underneath his fingernails.)
satoru had let that happen to you. jerked off to it. and now there's a video of you in your own home. a stalker.
he... he has to tell you, doesn't he?
this is too much. too violating. too dangerous. he has to confess.
he can't let this go on any more.
but something jumps in his chest. there's no way to tell you about these videos without showing you, without you asking how he has it.
you'll want to know who sent it. you'll want to read the chat history. it's a group chat, he can't doctor it or adjust it.
he can't make up some other excuse for how he knows about this, because you need to know the real reason this was sent, to find the real culprit.
showing you the video without having any kind of explanation would just terrify you. it would be cruel.
but if you find out about this, about what he's done -
what will you do? will you ever look at him the same?
will you ever look at him again at all?
his mind races. plans. excuses. diversions. the group chat, the people in it. in your room. filming you.
you. you you you you you, you who are both everything and nothing to him. an acquaintance at best. he hasn't even asked you out yet.
you, who live rent-free in his head and make his whole heart ache.
you, writhing on that stupid fucking loser's cock, so close and he wouldn't even put in the effort to put you over the edge -
satoru knows what he has to do.
but what is he really willing to risk?

i personally love the idea of a radiostatic genderbend because if all of hell's gender gets reversed, the breakup is hilarious because it just makes alastor look like a stereotypical pick me girl.
no, no, think about it. she's only friends with men, she's generally hostile with most of the women she meets, and she refuses to do her fucking hair properly
and then she makes one singular female friend. and they're inseparable for decades. and then the female friend is gay and they have a fight so vicious and radioactive that she swears off women and the concept of tv for the rest of her existence. female alastor would be torn to shreds on tiktok

There's an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation* where Picard and Crusher end up isolated far from the ship, together, in a dangerous situation while also slowly becoming telepathic with each other, until Crusher realizes Picard Had Always Loved Her But Never Admitted It.
And it's like, I want to say this episode some fanfic-ass-shit, right? It's a "solve the will-they-won't-they plot immediately by using Magic to force a confession". This is a tale as old as time! I think it's in like two Shakespeare plays in one form or another. But it's got the feel of fanfic because it's such a easy fan-fulfillment play that's easy and romantically cathartic to write and read.
The main reason I'm not immediately saying that, even if I may want to, is that this is Star Trek.
Half the founding fanfic tropes are exactly the kind of things that happened on Star Trek... And it's because they happened on Star Trek!
So many classic plots and settings and tropes have a real good example in a classic Star Trek episode, because Star Trek has been so influential on fanfic culture.
So you gotta be careful pointing at anything Star Trek and saying "fanfic trope", because 9 times out of 10 the only reason that trope is so common in fanfic is because Star Trek did it. They originated it or sometimes just codified it. It happens so often... It's bad odds.
Also, to be clear: I'm not saying fanfic is bad. Far from it! When I say it "feels like fanfic", I mean it feels like a specific type of fanfic: the fix-it emotional catharsis story. They finally kiss, they escape, they finally win, whatever the audience would love to see, but the ongoing show can't do because it would usually end the drama, or at least drastically shift the dynamic of the show: something they might not be able to do, mid season, in a syndicated drama!
This might be a kinda negative stereotype of fanfic, now that I think about it. Hmm.
* as always, my phone tries to predict the title as Star Trek: The Next Time, and I hope it never stops because I find that hilarious.

I feel like dramatic classics get done dirty a lot of times. Most of the recommendations are always boring “tailered chic” styles, which would be good for certain work recommendations, but even in my job as an accountant, I don’t have to dress that formally. I don’t even dress for my type bc DCs always keep getting recommended the same boring stuff. I’m more of a casual/street style girly myself.
david kibbe would probably say, "if you can, my elegant dramatic classic lady... go all out... and if you're already an accountant... embody it!" (or something like that) what i would say, and i want to challenge the `what's appropriate for what´ dogma and kibbe recommendation pressure with it:
wanting to dress a way > having to dress a way.
if street style and casual are your thing, maintain it! DC elements can be infused into that. sharp shoulders, tone in tone, geometric shoes. not to mention vintage thrifts, it's a goldmine for gamines and classics. menswear thrifting is perfect for cool DC streetstyle.
also, remember that classic clothes look boring on every other type but classics — and in and of themselves, on the hanger, do feel like the same aesthetic over and over: unless one copies jackie o's actually interesting DC wardrobe. although the "US first lady" trope is... yeah. and who can realistically wear that daily. i prefer kibbe's new DC type epithet ("haute powerhouse"), it's a great name actually.
handy 2025 kibbe type name update chart:
soft gamine's new name is a little too much, soft natural is too limited to magazines here, "deco dynamo" sounds too hilarious for the intimidating dramatic, some new names are missing, but yeah. okay, the old names were more to the point, i can't be the only one? of course, kibbe's TR bias: still "femme fatale". it's the only name that didn't change 😂 i love it. snark aside:
diva/divo chic, spitfire, girl/guy next door, free spirit, dreamspinner, femme/homme fatale, those were right on the money. though, the new ones only settled in on reddit so far, i haven't seen the larger kibbesphere call FN the "nonchalant showstopper" (awkward wording). i hope we maintain the old version, i don't get why he rebranded it all with extra french words.
note how the names used to refer to chic aka style, now it's much more personal identity based. irresistable, belle, elegante, etc. interesting how he goes with the times. "tailored chic" actually gave a pragmatic impression how to dress DC, but at least now you know where the good ole 'DC = bespoke stereotype' comes from. which has its kernel of truth, but names always generalize.
refurbishing DC as a haute couture type is cool actually, which removes some of its office dust. so, the high fashion reference does elevate it to a new level beyond basic tailoring. yes... vaguely classist and aristocratic from kibbe. he always wanted classic and dramatic to be the superior expensive regal hyperfashion categories™ lmao, nothing new, but maybe dupes can help us regular degular kibbe practicioners, and the idea counts.
haute mode -> more options than typical bespoke!
(^to be fair, the movie is more about FG vs FN and literal sweatshops)
meanwhile: in my opinion, it's actually pure classic that is the most highly restricted category, as symmetry and simplicity "need to be maintained always", phew. i wouldn't wanna be a classic dresser myself. dramatic classic still has the benefit of stealing ideas from the dramatic type due to their undercurrent. i think that's where a more refreshing, edgy twist can enter.

tangential to that last post, on the topic of the role of the hokage's wife
so mito gives off the air of being a regal badass and biwako strikes me as a very no-nonsense person, plus they're both from older generations. so i think they both set the precedent of being more stereotypical kunoichi & wives. they're both respected as ninja, but they both readily accept "stand behind the hokage, be silent and look pretty" as their public role to play. this doesn't mean they're passive/have no political power and won't speak their minds in more private settings, just that they're willing to go with whatever the public perception of what a ~wife's~ role should be.
meanwhile kushina is more modern and also doesn't have an off switch, and minato LIKES those things about her. he'll report to her what his council wants from her but he's not going to make her bend herself into something she's not for appearances even if his advisory council is in tears about it. if she wants to wear her jounin uniform to dinner with the daimyo's representative and tell him he's an idiot, the most minato is going to do to intervene is gently imply maybe she should be less blunt when describing the representative's shortsighted opinions. he and kushina have different jobs but he views her as his equal. she'll make concessions sometimes (like, she DOES understand that it's better for Konoha's PR is she doesn't seem overly rude or like a loose canon, and she likes the idea of someone being seen publicly in traditional uzushio formal wear even if she doesn't like being the one to do it) but in general there's this weird tension between kushina and older council members whenever she has to be there for an important public thing.
(the council is also not super pleased with naruto, but minato and kushina are more likely to be like "oh yes, our son is with a friend right now, don't worry about it--")
anyway the point is that team 4 is acutely aware of that sometimes kushina just gets told by an old person she needs to be more tactful and then she gets mad about it, and this all because old people have very specific notions about what the hokage's wife should be like
so i have a scene post ninjacon of the ninja con attendees drinking together, and minato warns kakashi and itachi that he wants to retire within ten years, and their names will definitely come up for hokage. i think i talked about this with the joke of tori asking to be their evil advisor (she was born to be an evil advisor)
however what if. when it becomes clear she and itachi are going to make their Arrangement permanent. she's like. "omg i will be the most demure and cutesy wife for you in public" and itachi is like "please do not. you being demure makes me nervous" and tori is like "I DRESS UP PRETTY AND AM THE PERFECT HOKAGE'S WIFE--" "i doubt i will be hokage" "--NO ONE WILL SUSPECT A THING--" "that's why i'm nervous"
and minato is like: hmm yeah the council is going to be real upset with tori as the hokage's wife and they won't even be able to articulate why. hilarious
HOWEVER
what actually happens is. you don't get "will public pretend to be demure and pretty, is actually plotting something horrible" as the hokage's wife
you get.... itachi
itachi is so much worse

hi hi~ how ya doing? Had some random asks out of curiosity —don’t mind the questions if you don’t wanna answer it or might be spoiler territory
What are the slushies opinions on prom night when they were teens? tho i assume they probably either missed it, weren’t interested, had history with it, or didn’t stay in public school long enough to reach it —with all the ran-away-with-the-circus arc they have going on there
Opinions on sour candy? The super sour ones like warheads? I just assume they like scrunch up at sour stuff comically cos they’re more a sweets type of persons, but still wanted to ask
Do either of them can swim? Or do they sink like a rock?
What other halloween costume would they go for besides the obvious?
—and that’s all. Love your au and art moots! Also did a lil happy dance when more peeps draw em with their own unique ocs hehe
It’s funny—Sun and Moon’s prom has come up as a talking point in a couple of discussions with moots. It’s such a common trope in horror media, isn't it? For good reason. The culmination of all the excitement and awfulness that is high school! The climax of four years of social awkwardness, stewing hormones, toxic teenage relationships... and education or smth i guess. It all makes for good drama.
Anyway, Moon technically was not invited to Sun's senior prom but he found a way in. There's a lot I pull from the horror classics with Sun's history, including his prom night. Specifically Carrie, if that tells you anything :3c. Tho there's a couple of twists. And no deaths. But still plenty of blood 😛
Warheads and the like are too acidic for Sun. He does indeed scrunch up hilariously, but Moonie loves them! I should say, he likes intense sensations in general, tastes included. Make brain go brrr. Probably also is the type that if he accidentally shocks himself from building up static, he's pausing for just a moment before rubbing his sleeves on surfaces to try and recreate the electric sting eheheheh.
They both known how to swim. Like with many firsts in Sun’s life, Moon probably was the one who took him to the lake and taught him how.
Mmm other costumes 🤔… lemme think. Well, I sometimes get flashes in my mind’s eye of them as other slashers 😛! That’d definitely be something that Moon would go for at Halloween, tongue in cheek. Sun would find it in bad taste though lol. Moonie might also be dressing up as a character from a comic book. Always seen him as a Spiderman~
Sun would probably go for something classic or from pop-culture. And most of the costume’s gonna be homemade. A ghost, Woody from Toy Story, stereotypical vampire, Fred from Scooby Doo, Pikachu… a slice of pizza. Whatever he thinks kids will like that year. Though he usually ends up looking like a huge dork.
#lol not to be like haha u said the word wrong.. but ‘slushies’ has me giggling 😝#sun graduated high school—Moon did not#dca slasher au#ask#the static electricity thing is me btw#try and repeatedly build up a bunch of charge rubbing on plastic and then touch metal until my finger goes numb 😝#i love all your art too :3c that’s why we’re moots i guess lol#☺️☺️☺️

Kyra’s Design & Symbolism

I just wanted to ramble about how I designed Kyra, and all of the tiny details behind why I did so! Hehe!!
Inspiration
First of all— Why did I base her on the Disney Princess Stereotype?
If you think about it, its honestly perfect. Someone thats based on the Disney Princess Stereotype, trapped in a school of villains and unable to escape??? Its hilariously perfect, and such a good way to poke fun at tropes. Shes quite literally the perfect “Damsel in Distress” , especially how shes always somehow involved in each and every overblot.
It was pretty interesting and fittingly cliche. It feeds into the whole “damnsel in distress, captured by the villlain!” Cliche, and it kind of pokes fun at the fact many stereotypical princesses in media usually find themselves in unsavory situations, and need to be “saved”.
I will continue to expand on this more— but I also wanted to make it obvious that Kyra does not belong at NRC.
I wanted to make sure she stands out somehow, just to make it obvious that Kyra does not belong here, and was never meant to be at NRC in the first place.
A princess in a school of villains… Its just too funny of a concept to pass up!
General Design
Like I said earlier, Kyra was designed with the goal to stand out. To make it obvious that she doesn’t belong at NRC at all, and be the complete opposite of most of the NRC cast.
Kyra is meant to oppose NRC itself. She goes against what NRC represents, and the student body itself as “villains”.
A magicless student in an academy for mages, a foolishly selfless and (mostly—) humble girl surrounded by prideful students, a representation of light in a place that is a place of darkness as the “Villains’ World”.
Kyra is meant to stand out not only as my technical “MC”, but also to represent and have her as a symbol for change at NRC. With her arrival to NRC, and through the events of the main storyline, Kyra obviously has an effect on everyone she meets, and somehow I wanted to make sure that when you see her, it was someone you’d never forget. Not just from her actions, but from how memorable she is in general.
Even her name, Kyra, was purposeful. Depending on what language you check, it has different meanings, but every one of them suit her perfectly.
In Greek, the origin language for her name, it means “Queen”, “Ruler”, “Lord” or “Lady”; yet in Japanese it can mean “Glittering” or “Shiny”.
And in many other languages, Kyra has other meanings.
“Sun”, “Far-Sighted” and “Throne” in Persian, “Beam of Light” in Sanskrit, “Leader Of The People”, “Beloved”, “The One People Look To” in Russian, and “Beloved”, “Precious”, “Valuable” in Turkish.
I could go into detail on how all of these meanings fit her perfectly, but this post would get too long HAHAHAH
While Kyra is meant to oppose the NRC cast in some way, she was specifically designed and written in a way to directly parallel Malleus. I will make a post talking about how and why, and when I do I’ll link it Here!!
In a nutshell: Kyra was designed with the intent of being a contrast to NRC itself. She was designed and written in a way that is meant to set her apart from the cast, not only as the technical “MC” as my Yuusona, but also because of what shes based on.
But !!! She is also meant to be a physical representation of change at NRC. Of new beginnings, and love.
Color Scheme
Besides Pink and White being my favorite colors (SHHH IGNORE THAT FACT FOR NOW!!) — Kyra’s color scheme is actually meant to parallel Malleus. Like I said before, they are direct parallels personality and lorewise, and I wanted to show their parallels even through their designs.
Black and White are obvious opposites; Pink and Green are also directly across from eachother in the color wheel!
Buut, its also meant to parallel Disney Villains in general! Like I mentioned before, she is meant to parallel NRC and, by extension, the student body. See, one of Disney’s favorite things to do for their villains is using a bright green when animating scenes with their villains.

Soo, it was just too perfect and fitting to pass up!
That, alongside the main color for NRC being black, gave me the perfect idea. It fits so well, as the symbolism of both the colors pink and white perfectly fit Kyra’s entire concept! Her color scheme is not only the opposite of Malleus’, but also the colors commonly used for Disney villains in general.
White being a famous symbol of purity and innocence, and hints to the naive, innocent, sheltered princess stereotype.
Pink being a famous symbol for femininity, love and compassion. It is also very affiliated with princesses.
Furthermore, white also symbolizes perfection, honesty and beginnings.
Uniform Design
Oh lawwdd here we go… *cracks knuckles*
Kyra’s uniform is, again, supposed to somehow represent how she doesn’t “belong” at NRC despite wearing the uniform. Its heavily customized, and also represents her love for fashion and her desire to express herself.
Kyra’s uniform is mainly inspired by two kinds of fashion. Lolita fashion and Himekaji fashion!

Her sleeves are inspired by Lolita fashion, while her cropped jacket, innershirt and skirt are all inspired by Himekaji, a Gyaru substyle!
Himekaji is actually her main inspiration, and I have a few different reasons! Though, one is just because it suits her perfectly, theres one other!
“Himekaji” when directly translated, is “Princess — Casual”. And Kyra IS a princess trying to act casual and hide her royal background. Its a funny little way to hint at something, but its a fun fact I love about Kyra hehe
Furthermore, both Lolita fashion and Gyaru fashion are alternative fashion styles meant to fight back against the usual beauty standard and societal norms! Both are styles meant to represent dressing up for fun and for yourself, and not for others.
Lolita Fashion~
Additionally, Japanese culture emphasises the importance of motherhood as a “sacred mission” and discourages women from pursuing a career as it distracts her from her main task of motherhood and running the family home.
Thus girls and women who wear Lolita are rejecting the societal expectation of low-importance careers and homemaking in favour of a fantasy in which they can “fulfill their own sense of princess-like aesthetic beauty” and avoid growing up in a more mundane world.
Lolita fashion appears to be a rejection of societal expectations in favour of a luxurious, responsibility-free life.
Hehe, get it? Kyra was told her whole life her only purpose in life was to be beautiful and get married. She lacked any sense of identity other than the one that was forced upon her— and now, she dons a sense of fashion that is deeply rooted in fighting against those exact same ideals!
Gyaru Fashion~
The term “Gyaru” In Japan is usually used to refer to young women who are cheerful, sociable, and willing to convey their feelings and emotions through actions such as adopting trendy fashions.
The fashion subculture was considered to be nonconformist and a rebelling against Japanese social and aesthetic standards during a time when women were expected to be housewives
Also!— Gyaru girls in particular, are often associated with a carefree and rebellious spirit, challenging traditional Japanese norms of appearance and behavior. This ties in very well with Kyra’s own views of living, and which is why I made her main style lean more towards Himekaji, yet still made sure that there are hints of lolita fashion in her outfits, too!
In short— both of the fashion cultures I took most inspiration for with Kyra’s style both were created with the intent to rebel against what was expected of women in society.
Its kind of silly, but I thought it’d be a really fun way of representing who Kyra is and even hinting parts of her backstory through her uniform!!
Coffin Symbol

Man I really need to remake this😭😭
You might be thinking— “A dove? Isn’t that kind of random??” And, yes, thats what I thought too at first.
But, the thing is, even if Kyra’s character began as being inspired by the Disney Princess Stereotype; Kyra herself has her own story. And if I gave her a symbol that resembled her background and status of royalty, that would just completely throw away her entire character.
While Kyra may be royalty, during the course of the storyline she is actively trying to get away from it. Of course, it will always be part of her, and you can’t erase the past. But she strives to be more than just her beauty, and more than just her status.
And so, I decided to give her a symbol that represented who she truly is perfectly. A symbol of who she is and what she believes in.
Birds in general are a famous symbol of freedom. Something that is vital to Kyra’s character development and beliefs.
But ! I decided on a dove specifically because it represented her own beliefs the best, but also her role in the main storyline.
The dove has always been a famous synbol connected to the heavens. But it is also a symbol of peace, inner tranquility, harmony, purity, as well as love and freedom.
Personally, have always seen doves as a symbol for a new, prosperous era. The dove is the perfect symbol for Kyra! Freedom, love, and rebirth is everything she values and believes to most.
Similarly, ever since coming to NRC she's brought with her a new era of renewal. Spreading love wherever she goes whether people realize it or not, her effect on others is undeniable!
Honestly, the reason I chose the dove is also because of the story from the Bible with Noah’s arc.
Genesis 8:6-12: After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark.
He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.
This story is why the dove in her symbol is specifically holding an olive branch! The dove being the symbol of the coming of a new era after a great disaster, isn’t it fitting?
Anyways— Another reason that I have is that, again, I wanted her to somehow act as a parallel/opposite to the NRC cast. While NRC is represented by a raven, I simply thought it’d be fitting for Kyra to be represented by a white bird.
Its also a way for me to once again poke fun at stereotypes. Ravens are commonly seen as bad omens and “evil” in media, while doves are much more praised and beloved and commonly related to the heavens.
Buut !!! There is more !!! Continuing on my raven - dove symbolism…
Ravens are often symbols of death, while Doves are symbols of rebirth.
If it wasnt obvious already, I really like it when there are parallels within themes and characters WHAHAHAHA
Kyra herself is going through a period of rebirth and renewal throughout the main storyline. She is slowly discovering herself and the life she wants to lead, thus beginning her new, personal journey of life.
While she helps others— they help her, too. Without even realizing it.
Kyra’s character development focuses on Freedom, Love (romantic, platonic, self-love and familial—), Rebirth/New beginnings, Inner peace, and Hope in spite of a terrible past. Remaining full of love and hope regardless of the situation, and slowly coming to terms with who she is as a person.
HOLYY YAAPP😭😭 I put in a little TOO much thought into Kyra’s silly self methinks… only for me to mostly post only crack about her LMFAOOO

I just read Maiden Knight:
1) Beyond being just as amazing as all your writing is, I absolutely love the similarities Knight!Milena has with all the others - an open, generous heart, lots of courage, and a softly wicked sense of humor.
2) I'm now ferally spiraling over the idea of our favorite Cat (Aiden) rescuing a surprisingly-tall and deep-voiced noble lady from some tragedy, only to discover the Lady is physically a man - Aleksandra (Sasha) of Velen, who was legally raised as a girl Because Reasons (I'm imagining something about him and his twin sister getting put in the wrong robes for their ceremonial Naming, so he was Named as a girl, and his twin sister was Named the boy and heir - in a world where magic is real I imagine those Namings have some relation to, like, divine right of inheritance and the health of the land. As the sister died of a childhood illness and he has two younger brothers the succession is secure anyway, and it turns out he prefers more stereotypically feminine activities anyway, so it worked out - or it would have if his bastard of a grandfather wasn't an asshole about it), and who finds his rescuer very appealing. Fast forward to Lambert and Aiden's annual rendezvous/story swap on the Path (best weirdest story wins a bottle of Gull) and, well. Roggeven and Velen may be on opposite ends of the country *and* the political spectrum, but an alliance would still benefit both. And if Roggeven becomes a stop-over for *two* Witchers, at least they'll never have a monster problem again.
Okay this would be hilarious and delightful, actually. Sasha and Milena would probably have a great deal of fun messing with everyone's heads! And as a duke's "granddaughter" Sasha would have learned a great deal about managing a duchy, so it would be a good match both politically and logically.

I watched The Force Awakens (TFA for Americans) for the second time in a row with vintage Mexican Spanish dubbing. It sounded like something from my childhood watching TV with Spanish dubbed with a neutralized voice. The first watch was hilarious, I was in a hurry and I was throwing ideas inside my head in all directions. It is the bane of my existence but I always try to laugh it off.
Why they could have done this? Maybe to convey the wonder of their own childhood, a possible lack of proper funding from the film industry and an unconscious coping mechanism (what the kids cruelly refer to as “seethe and cope”) of knowing Mexicans who won’t go to space as first class earthly citizens. This makes them more mature and practical than delusional celebrities like Elon Musk and Grimes. Future in space won’t happen in the near future and there’s photographic evidence of astronauts aging rapidly from merely leaving the planet. What mainstream culture could describe as “childish” may be voice actores’ unconscious vision of what the beginning of the trilogy is or their longing for the past at the same time.
Kylo Ren masked: more genuine when seeking counsel even through a childlike foreign lens. Masked: otherworldly and unusual. That caught me off guard because I’m used to hearing his normal, sexy voice in mainstream media.
John Boyega: so soulful and compassionate even in Mexican Spanish. Had the doors closed on him and nobody even said: “que la fuerza te acompañe” when he sadly passed away.
Rey mostly translates the same and has to prove her worth, mettle, mental Clarity and spirituality in any language.
Everything that isn’t human is suitably cartoony but tempered.
Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher still sound like concerned parents in Spanish.
General Hux sounds pathetically stiff and tyrannical and the storm troopers look like white SUVs you have no interest in buying.
Watching it this way, with the Spanish dubbing, made me understand John Boyega as a British black man bullied through online media even more than before. He’s in space, he betrays, he resists and does the best he can to save Rey. He fails. Even in an odd and anachronistic Spanish voice that is too old (wiser, maybe?) for a 2015 movie.
This blog was named after a part-black Mexican poet named Jorge Cuesta, a deeply misunderstood character I read in a book during the aftermath of a hurricane back in 2017 that I shall not mention. Jason Boyega’s character reminded me of him when dubbed with this voice of mostly Mexican extraction. I understand the struggles of an undefined voice quite well as a woman born in the early eighties and raised in a small town in the Caribbean. I can’t define myself clearly even on this website. I watched so much TV programming in Mexican Spanish dubbing from that era that it made me sound Mexican, I was bullied for it and it still impacts my every desire for something beyond inequality and subjugation where I reside today.
The Spanish voice adaptation seems to convey something about minorities’ place in the world that I understand in a way that many will say is biased and “childish” but it is not. What I know is that there are Puerto Ricans in and Mexicans in NASA and the end result of this dubbing seems to convey their desire to transcend and be something more than their stereotypes, even when they have to become watered down and pedagogical.
Adam Driver, you are the sexiest man there is .

(I wanted to join in @quartztwst's No Yan Sim AU!! The idea's hilarious and ridiculous /pos and I saw an opportunity to draw Alan lookin' like a jock hehe)
Alan is the stereotypically cold, ruthless jock of the school. A loner whose only trusted companion is their own self and has no interest in making friends. They're silent, hostile and completely unapproachable... ...Right?
Image w/ just the art + additional info under the cut :3
General personality:-
Their quiet demeanour comes from their softspoken and reserved nature. More often than not, they can be found with their head in the clouds thinking about something... like cats! They can be awkward and they never make the first move to socialise, but they're more than happy to engage in conversation with someone!
They're TERRIBLE at photography and at handling a camera in general... that and the long, rambly nature of the club discussions completely demotivate them from participating.
(They're too awkward to say something about leaving to the other members however, so they're honestly just waiting for the day they get kicked out.)
They have insanely good memory despite the terrible attention span, however. They're on top of all of their sports meetings, knows exactly what classes they have to walk on autopilot to, and during quiet times when noone is around and they don't have anyone to socialise with, they pull out their sketchbook and draw the first thing that comes to their mind.
When sneaking a peek, the drawings may incite a bit of deja vu... doesn't this sketch look awfully familiar to something Quartz did earlier today...?
Game mechanics:-
Sometimes, subconciously, Alan draws things they remember seeing but didn't quite process due to how 'not present in the real world' they are. They might not even realise what they're drawing is from memory. If someone else finds this, it could potentially lead to a certain school detective connecting the dots. (Hippity hoppity, these pages are now my property)
When they're alone and not busy talking, Quartz can ask them to do 1v1 practice sessions with her! Having these practice sessions can increase her strength and some of her abilities (then maybe one day she can take on the tweels... and Shuu).
When they aren't loitering around or drawing, their next activity of choice is to bring out some cat kibble and go around the school in search of cats. Perhaps Quartz could ask her about these cat hangout spots or ask for some kibble to lure in some cats... which then lure in a wild Idia. (Could be used for distraction purposes or to take photos of him?)
Personal items:-
Flip phone: Technology is hard to figure out and what they've got still works! No point in fixing what ain't broke.
Satchel: Trusty ol' bag of holding! Its contents fluctuate often, but whatever's inside is usually necessary for the day. Losing this will result in quiet panic.
Sketchbook + excessive number of pens: Even just one sketchbook is hard to fill out in one's day-to-day life. Pens, however, can be used for almost any situation!
Cat kibble: For the kitties.
(Aaaand here's the artwork! Both with a clean bg and a transparent one :D This was a brain workout to think about, but I had so much fun trying to brainstorm ideas!!)

What do you think of Jiraiya/Orochimaru?
I'm a fan!! Its not my main thing (the potential of Sakumo and Orochimaru honestly interests me more) but I do love to see it
I think it's most fun when it's unrequited / they just never get together. The tragedy of it is what really sells it to me, very fun, these bitches are not allowed to be happy
My all time favorite take for them, coming from Plasticity by @mixelation (which is also great read in general, highly reccomend), is basically when someone (Tori) notices;
"Hey do you think it's weird that in so many Icha Icha (especially the older ones written around the time of Orochimaru defecting) the main love interest is a busty blonde and the secondary love interest is a more flat chested elegant woman with long black hair who usually turns out to be evil in the third act, making our beloved main hero spiral over the betrayal? But also not before they fuck, like, a lot?"
Then ofc proceeds to have a minor breakdown about it because NO ONE WILL LISTEN TO HER DISCOVERIES BUT SHE KNOWS SHES RIGHT!!!!!!!!
Anyways this is hilarious and I hold onto this hc with both of my hands, Jiriyah ABSOLOUTLEY wrote thinly veiled porn about Orochimaru in multiple Icha Icha in order to cope with what he was going through at the time— though whether it was subconsciously done or on purpose, who knows. I think somewhere inbetween but he's in denial about it
Anyways yeah, Oro and Jiriyah, I'm a fan. There's lots of potential there, lots of angles that make it interesting.
They're childhood friends.
They fought in (and helped to win) the second shinobi war together as a team.
They abandoned eachother but while Orochimaru did a much more thoroughly abandoning, Jiriyah did leave him first.
Jiryah is a straight male stereotype who sexualizes anything in a skirt while Orochimaru has his whole gender apathy girlboss thing going for him and ends up in Boruto presenting as fucking housewife goals.
Jiriyah could be counted among the "best" characters of the series, from a moral standpoint, while Orochimaru among the worst.
Jiriyah devoted himself to listening to the prophecies of the toads while Orochimaru can be argued as running away from things like fate and prophecy in his mission to thwart death and become immortal.
And then there's ofc Tsunade, who even if we aren't talking ab here, I feel like has to be mentioned in some way just bc of the massive impact she's had both on their lives and on their dynamic. Having her around adds a whole new generational trauma wrench into the machine
Anyways yeah, I'm a fan. Very fun!!

Thought about this on my lunch. A ultramarine saves a serf from a nightlord and is getting her to safety, but since she's been conditioned to follow around and do what is told to the most extreme degree, she follows the ultramarine and does her duty expecting that if she does a good job, he wont hurt her. Cue the ultramarine with really clean armour and a serf always a few feet away from him at his beck and call. All comes to a head when the ultramarine is just angry in general(either a bad spar or smth else) which makes the serf terrified and starts to take off her clothes hoping it would soothe him in some way, which IN TURN makes the ultramarine confused like "uhhhmmmm... why are you naked" "so you can take your anger out" "what"
This is hilarious, but also has amazing angst potential. Just imagining the ultramarine as a stereotypical white knight saving her then slowly learning more about just what happened to her under her Night Lord master's eye. He wants to do better by her, while also perhaps trying to fight his own internal monologue.
