"Can we chat about – I don't know if Gabriel's gonna be somewhere mad at me for this, but I gotta point it out. Harvey's got a very, sort of, coquettish, pillow-hugging thing going on on the bed. [Sarah laughs.] Do you know in this scene, where he's putting it all together? Like, it's such an interesting take. Like, you'd – I don't know why, you'd think he'd kind of . . . be reclined, but instead he's on his . . . stomach, like holding a pillow. It's very . . . different. And I love it. But I definitely, I was like, "Huh! Harvey?""

Just noticed something interesting upon rewatch.
Most of Vox's scorn tends to be directed towards whoever is taking attention he feels entitled to, especially if that attention comes from someone he's possessive over.
We already know about his disdain for Angel, because Valentino won't leave him alone.
And it could be one of the reasons he blew up in "Stayed Gone" because Alastor effectively split his audience. Though I cannot be convinced that he wasn't the slightest bit mollified by Alastor talking back to him, because he missed him.
But what really caught my attention was how he talked about Charlie and Alastor after their little dis-track conflict. He insults both: "Lucifer's Brat" and "That Smiling Freak", but noticeably he punches the table at Charlie and rolls his eyes at Alastor.
Almost like he was already displacing his ire at the object of Alastor's attention and not Alastor himself without consciously realizing it.
I foresee a season 2 tantrum when Alastor makes any effort to protect Charlie from Vox's inevitable assault on the hotel.
On top of the hilarity there, it means that despite Alastor trying to pull back from his attachment to the crew, Vox can see and show him that he's not as disaffected as he believes himself to be. And THAT would infuriate him. >:)
VOX BEING MORE UPSET WITH CHARLIE THAN ALASTOR BECAUSE CHARLIE IS KEEPING ALASTOR'S ATTENTION AWAY FROM HIM. 🤣🤣🤣 GLORIOUS
I love it. No notes. Headcanon accepted.
Anything that involves the twisted relationship between Alastor and Vox seizes my attention. Vox's frail little ego means so much to me. I, too, share his rejection sensitivity. It's okay little TV man, I love your insecurities and toxic tendencies.
Also love the idea of Vox calling out Alastor's growing attachment to the Hazbin crew.
Vox: You like them!
Alastor: nuh-uh.
Vox, holding up a distorted video of Alastor singing and dancing with the Hazbin crew: TF YOU MEAN NUH-UH

So you all can see Eddie siding with Gerrard when we first got a picture of Mustache Eddie, but apparently Buck siding with Gerrard is completely unthinkable even after we see Buck and Gerrard golfing together. Huh, I wonder why that is...

sometimes i like to imagine that the dhmis trio is somewhat aware of their online presence and duck says DEPLORABLE things to the people who thirst-post about red guy. (warning farther in the post for examples of the things i think hed say LMAO)
like i know duck realistically would be jealous of the attention red guy would recieve, but i think after red guys confession hed change direction and be more like “this is MY guy stay out of his comments HARLOTS 😋😝” // “Youll be getting a fun surprise in your mailbox tomorrow evening, CUNTS 😍😋💖” // “Took MY best friend out for a picnic today🤭‼️ added note: KILL YOURSELVES 🤣!!!”
Colin sits there in horror and slight amusement like “oh no! are you sure you want to send this out, friend? the authorities have already located my IP address, and i dislike the idea of imprisonment” while duck has sent the third doxx and death threat to a 15 year old tumblr user just making a joke about red guys teeth or something.

one thing i miss about wattpad (i migrated from it to ao3, still miss it sometimes) is how interactive the ppl on it are. like. we named page breaks. we yelled at characters we hated. there were twenty comments from the same person on one chapter. we marked down dates we read and reread a fic. we thrived and we were one
maybe its because we were younger then and didnt care but we were so much more talky or maybe its the constant access to a comment button rather than it being hidden at the bottom of the page but either way i miss itttt😭 made so many friends on it
of course they ruined it by adding ads and screwing with the format and the shit tagging system but still :((

Bioware made some Decisions about softening factions/moral disagreements/etc in Veilguard, but to me the one that's simply bizarre is...Tevinter slavery???
Because it's so incredibly unnecessary. Because the faction you connect with is the Shadow Dragons, abolitionist agitators. You really wouldn't have to deal much with people who think slavery is ok, because they are hardly going to be your allies. Neve is your Shadow Dragon contact, so whatever else, she shares those beliefs enough to be in good odor with them.
(And there is nothing unbefitting of her noir nature in "fighting the injustice in the very structure of society that one person cannot overcome". Forget it, Jake, it's Chinatown Minrathous.)
They wrote Dorian as having pulled his head out of his ass and incorporated "you can't treat people well and enslave them" into his worldview, which isn't much of a stretch considering. He and Maevaris are, in fact, abolitionist politicians, not powerful enough to get anything done but just too powerful to easily get rid of. Real life has had plenty of those.
So...why bother to soften or erase that Tevinter is a slave state? It's not like we have any friendly characters who support it, including the Tevenes, unless I've missed something. They could not have party arguments about slavery the easy way!
So - I made an elf mage Shadow Dragon, okay, because that seemed interesting, but in practice the game doesn't give me much to work with. No conversation about what happens to elven slaves who manifest magic. About how far just "mage" doesn't get you around here. Hell, in the backstory they had her bust up an underground Venatori slave market, which is, frankly BS of the highest order! There don't need to be underground slave markets; there are regular markets for that! The whole point is that she and they took down completely legal places of business, because the law in Tevinter is evil! The Venatori don't have to coup Minrathous to go after them; the government already should be.
Softening it is so wildly unnecessary compared to e.g. the Crows, to the story they wanted to tell, that I'm just ??? confused more than anything.

Honestly all I want to do is rewatch all of Watchers and specifically Steven's videos and post positive comments on them just to let them know that not everyone in world is as shitty as most of yall are acting right now. Being mad at them does not give any of you the right to harass them and be an asshole.

Spoilers
Okay so since Eden is implied to be the one to who stabbed Xander uh... a lot of people's theories about Teruko being the one doing it was wrong (haha). just wondering why the hell would Xander be the one saying "I need to kill Teruko Tawaki to end the killing game" is...? So i would like to say I think her being the mastermind could be possible even though thats typical, but Im leaning towards her existence somehow triggering/motivating the killing game to happen somehow. Something something about her family being connected to hope peaks academy and/oor the killing tragedy thus her needing to be orphaned,, and Mai finally taking Teruko to her family ended up triggering the killing game and killing Mai too idk man. Maybe Teruko's existence was so important that enemies or something triggered the killing gaming to happen probably over and over again. Idk man Don't fucking look at me and my stupid fucking brain

I love period works based on relatively recent decades that are built entirely out of the childhood nostalgia of the people making them, and as such end up being just as much time capsules of the time they were made as the time they're set.
Like. I don't know if I'm wording this right. But "show or film based on a particular decade but entirely from the real memories yet flawed nostalgia glasses of a writer who was a kid at the time" is always going to be very much a product of its time. Like. Grease and Happy Days, both set in the 50s, could only ever have been made in the 70s and early 80s. Hairspray (the original film) and Heartbeat, both set in the 60s, could only ever have been made in the late 80s and the 90s. Ashes to Ashes, set in the early 80s, could only ever have been made in the late 00s. And Turning Red, set in the early 00s, could only ever have been made in the 2020s.
Because none of those works are true accurate depictions of what those years were objectively actually like. They're true accurate depictions of what those years felt like, if you were twelve at the time.
And that's something future generations of writers are never going to be able to quite emulate in quite the same way.

Let Us Build A Nightmare Nation: Ersatz Freddy Krueger Jason Denison bringing impressionable tykes Louis and Suzanne Desjardins under his malign sway in this newspaper feature devoted to the dangers of '80s Slasher Movies. If you grew up during that period, then you'll recall that this type of hysteria whirling around the exposure to onscreen movie violence -- specifically, Horror Movie violence -- was quite pronounced, turning up on the nightly news, on the daytime talk show circuit, in newspapers, and at PTA meetings. I vividly recall having a teenage babysitter openly declare that I would be doomed to Hell for watching 1985's "Transylvania 6-5000" (!?). Note how the tableau depicted above had to be entirely staged in order to achieve the desired effect on readers. The two child models might as well be Lucy and Linus Van Pelt. Costumes kindly provided by Don's Hobby Shop, TV courtesy of Citywide Electronics. Photo by Heather Wilson.

Vox and Alastor both would suck massive ass playing hide n seek because TVs and Radios both make low level humming noises all the fkn time it would be so easy to find them
Could probably figure out who was who before even seeing them tbh from the type of electric hum, even if they both muted themselves.
Wouldn't be surprised of Alastor figured that out and annoys Vox by being a cryptic bastard about it and Vox is just like "I don't get it how the fuck did he know" bc be is surrounded by electronics all the time and has just learned to tune it out
