More than anything, he wants to smoke, but he can’t, knows he can’t, so he presses his head against the wall and tries to remember how to distract himself. What the books he borrowed said to do, the ones that he forgot to finish but hey, at least he had cigarette savings to spend on library fees. He needs something tangible, productive, keeps his hands busy, which trying to think of something makes him want to rip his hair out, which he can’t do because he just washed it and the soft curls are probably his prettiest part.

i am finally discovering a genre of character i actually really relate to! like, i personally relate to them rather than just love them a lot, i can hardly remember when that last happened to me, if ever, so that's cool. unfortunately, that genre of character is "protagonist of a tragedy severely doomed by the narrative and in no small way responsible for their own fate"
#a biscuit's rambles#i meann tbf i dont think its the severe depression they share that gets me#but like. as someone who tends to feel things very deeply and lean into emotions and also teenage hormone bullshit#but who is also severely uninterested in coming of age stuff or ugh romance#these are actually the first characters i remember encountering who were just.#overemotional. unstable. at least a bit depressed. dramatic. occasionally at the edge of losing it. impulsive. chaotic.#and sometimes they hurt people. and their being that emotional isnt usually good! its not like 'oh its okay actually learn to love yourself#the narrative is saying You Need To Get A Grip and thats just.#damn. THAT is relatable#sometimes i get too emotional and thats not always good! i lvoe feeling deeply but sometimes i do just need to get a grip!#and also im a young and unstable person being thrown around in life with no idea what to do next#maybe i have one goal but the rest is like. Happening i guess#and somehow i only see that in my stupid tragedy protags who are dooming themselves (affectionate)#idk. theyre not role models. theyre messy and often stupid and too quick and. theyre incredibly human#also you get a wide range of emotion besides love bc even tho love is very important its far from the only thing happening#looking at you coming of age stuff#(besides the fact that the characters in coming of age stuff usually arent just fucking Weird either so thats already no relatable)#idk i think the last time i looked at a character and went 'oh hey thats me' was when i was seven or eight and i didnt even realise#like only when i reread that book recently#so. idk. its kinda a big thing for me. and also i think its funny as fuck#*reading hamlet * whoa hes like me fr#(okay hamlet not as much as the other guy but still)

chicken shop date (ln4)
✦ pairing - lando norris x female!reader
✦ genre - little angst, tears, comfort, jealousy
"Hey, babe," Lando called out as he walked into the living room, his voice casual, as if he was mentioning the weather. Y/N looked up from the book she was reading, her eyes narrowing a little, sensing something was coming. "I’ve got to head out for a bit later. Media duties. You know how it is."
"Yeah, where to?" Y/N asked, pretending she wasn’t bothered, even though her gut told her this wasn’t just any media duty.
Lando plopped down beside her on the couch, leaning back with his arm lazily draped over her shoulders. "Just some interview thing. The Chicken Shop Date."
Her heart sank a little. "The one with Amelia?"
Lando nodded, not catching the slight change in her tone. "Yeah, should be fun, right? It’s been all over social media. Apparently, people love that show."
Y/N forced a smile. "Yeah… fun."
He didn’t notice the hesitation, scrolling through his phone as if it was no big deal. "It’s just an interview, nothing serious. I’ll be back by dinner."
Y/N gave a tight nod. "Okay, sure. It’s fine."
But it wasn’t. It didn’t help that she knew how these things played out online. Fans loved to pair drivers up with anyone and everyone, and Amelia was already adored. Y/N tried not to think about it too much, but the insecurity crept in. The doubt, the comparison—it all bubbled beneath the surface.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
Lando sat across from Amelia, lights blaring overhead, the cameras rolling, and the familiar buzz of media duties surrounding him. He smiled and laughed at her jokes, played along with the teasing banter, but his mind wasn’t really in the conversation. It was on Y/N.
As Amelia quipped something about his love for chicken, Lando gave the expected laugh, but inside, all he could think about was how Y/N would have found that moment funny—actually funny, not forced for the sake of the cameras. She had this way of cracking up over the smallest things, making even the most mundane moments between them feel like they were in their own little world. He shifted in his seat, nodding as Amelia asked him another question, but it was Y/N’s voice he wanted to hear, not Amelia’s.
I should’ve texted her before this started, he thought. She hates these things. She probably thinks this is stupid.
His smile faltered for a split second before he masked it again with his easy-going charm. Lando’s mind wandered, picturing Y/N curled up on the couch, probably watching something on Netflix, or worse—doom-scrolling through social media where people would already be buzzing about him and Amelia. He knew how much she hated seeing those comments.
"Do you always pick chicken on a date?" Amelia asked, her voice pulling him back to the present.
He smirked automatically, playing along. "Depends on the girl, I guess."
But in his mind, there was only one girl. He could almost hear Y/N’s sarcastic response if she’d been there. Something like “Oh wow, such a Casanova.” He bit back a real grin, wishing he was with her instead, eating pizza on the floor like they always did when they had time to themselves.
As Amelia tossed another teasing question his way, Lando nodded again, but his thoughts drifted to Y/N’s smile. Her real smile, the one she only showed when she was truly happy—her eyes crinkling at the edges, dimples making their rare but precious appearance. God, I love that smile, he thought. How do I even survive without seeing it every day?
The interview continued, but Lando was only half there. His answers were automatic, the jokes came easy enough, but his heart was back home with Y/N. He could already imagine the comments that would flood in after this aired—the inevitable “couple goals” remarks about him and Amelia, the fans who shipped them just because they shared a few laughs on camera. He hated how much Y/N would probably see it all and doubt herself again.
She’s the one, he reminded himself, trying to focus as Amelia asked him about his worst date experience. But his mind flickered to the time he and Y/N had gotten completely soaked during an impromptu storm on what was supposed to be a romantic picnic. It had been a disaster, but also perfect, because it was with her.
The interview wrapped up eventually, and as he stood up to leave, Lando’s first instinct was to check his phone. A text from Y/N popped up.
How’s it going? Did you eat all the chicken yet?
He grinned down at the message, a wave of warmth washing over him. She’s probably teasing, but I know she’s anxious, he thought, his fingers quickly tapping out a response.
Miss you. Be home soon.
Amelia said something to him on the way out, but he barely registered it. His mind was already miles away, back where he belonged—next to Y/N.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
Y/N sat on the couch, her phone in hand, mindlessly scrolling through Twitter, Instagram, and every other app she swore she’d avoid today. The comments were relentless, each one stabbing at the insecurities she’d been trying so hard to ignore.
Amelia and Lando are too cute together! Lando needs someone like Amelia, not Y/N. Amelia is just…better. They have way more chemistry than Lando and his actual girlfriend, LOL.
She closed her eyes, swallowing the lump in her throat as she let the phone fall onto her lap. The words kept spinning in her mind. They shouldn’t have bothered her this much, but they did. The laughter and teasing between Lando and Amelia from the video replayed in her mind, feeding her doubts.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed beside her, breaking her out of the spiral. She sighed, assuming it was more notifications from the post, but the name on the screen made her pause.
Carlitos.
She hesitated, not wanting to deal with anyone right now, but something told her to pick up. Carlos wouldn’t call without a reason.
“Hey, Carlitos,” she answered, trying her best to sound casual.
But Carlos knew her too well. "You’re doom-scrolling, aren’t you?"
Y/N’s heart sank at his words, her eyes darting to her phone again as if he could see everything she’d just read. "No… I mean, maybe a little. How do you know?"
Carlos chuckled softly on the other end. "I just do. I saw the interview, and I figured you’d be reading all that rubbish online. You know how people get with these things."
Y/N sighed, leaning her head back against the couch. "It’s not just people. It’s like… I don’t know, Carlos. They’re saying Lando and Amelia have more chemistry than we do. And I… I can’t help but think, what if they’re right?"
There was a brief silence before Carlos spoke, his voice gentle but firm. "You’re kidding, right? Lando adores you. You should see the way he talks about you when you’re not around. You’ve got nothing to worry about."
Y/N’s chest tightened. "But did you see the video? They looked… I don’t know, comfortable. Like they fit."
Carlos let out a soft sigh. "Y/N, of course they looked comfortable. It’s an interview, they’re supposed to. And Amelia’s whole thing is to make it playful. But you and Lando—what you two have is real. Not some staged banter for the cameras."
She stayed silent, biting her lip, unsure if she could believe him.
"You’ve been with him through everything, Y/N," Carlos continued, his voice softer now. "The highs, the lows, the things the cameras never see. What you two have isn’t for the internet to decide. It’s for you and Lando, and no one else."
Y/N swallowed, her eyes stinging as she blinked back the tears threatening to spill over. "I just… I hate feeling like I’m not enough for him sometimes."
Carlos paused for a moment before speaking again, this time with more conviction. "Listen to me. You are more than enough. Lando knows it. I know it. And deep down, you know it too. The internet? They’ll always talk, but they don’t know the first thing about your relationship."
Y/N let out a shaky breath, nodding even though he couldn’t see her. "Yeah, I guess."
"No, not ‘I guess,’" Carlos insisted. "I’m telling you. Lando loves you. He doesn’t care about Amelia or anyone else. And if he saw you right now, he’d probably punch himself for letting you feel like this."
A soft laugh escaped Y/N, despite the tears that were now sliding down her cheeks. "You’re too good to me, Carlos."
"Someone’s got to keep an eye on you when Lando’s off doing these ridiculous interviews," he teased, his tone lighter now. "But seriously, promise me you’ll stop reading those comments. They don’t matter."
Y/N nodded, wiping at her eyes. "I’ll try. Thanks, Carlos. I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear that."
"Anytime, Y/N. And if you ever need a reminder, just call me, okay?"
"Okay," she said softly, feeling the weight on her chest slowly lift.
"And remember," Carlos added, his voice warm and reassuring, "you’re family. We’ve all got your back, no matter what. Especially me."
Y/N smiled through her tears, her heart swelling at his words. "I know. Thank you, Carlos. Really."
"Now, go put your phone down and do something that makes you happy. Lando will be home soon, and he’s probably missing you already."
Y/N let out a soft chuckle. "You’re right. I’ll stop the doom-scrolling."
"Good," Carlos said, his smile evident through the phone. "Talk soon, Y/N."
"Bye, Carlos."
As the call ended, Y/N set her phone down, feeling a bit lighter. Carlos was right. Lando loved her, and she couldn’t let the opinions of people who didn’t even know them take that away. With a deep breath, she got up, deciding to make dinner and wait for Lando, her heart feeling a little more at peace.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
Lando was driving back home, the streets quiet, his mind wandering between the day’s events and how much he just wanted to be with Y/N. He could already imagine her waiting for him, maybe with some sarcastic comment about the interview, but her smile would say it all. That was his Y/N.
His phone rang, breaking him out of his thoughts. Seeing Carlos’ name flash on the screen, he raised an eyebrow, quickly connecting his Bluetooth before answering.
“Carlos, what’s up?” Lando asked casually, one hand on the steering wheel.
“Mate, we need to talk,” Carlos’ tone was serious, which immediately caught Lando’s attention. “It’s about Y/N.”
Lando’s stomach dropped. “What do you mean? Is she okay?”
“She’s been doom scrolling, Lando,” Carlos sighed. “All the comments about you and Amelia… they’re getting to her. Badly.”
Lando’s grip on the steering wheel tightened as his heart started to race. No, no, no… I should’ve checked on her more. I should’ve known this would happen.
“Shit,” Lando muttered under his breath, the image of Y/N’s hurt expression flashing in his mind. “How bad is it?”
“She’s really upset,” Carlos said softly. “I just talked to her. She’s trying to act like it’s fine, but you know Y/N. She’s hurt, man.”
Lando’s mind started spiraling. The interview with Amelia had been playful, nothing more. But of course, the internet had twisted it into something else. And he hadn’t even thought to reassure Y/N after it. How could I be so stupid? She’s always had a hard time with stuff like this.
He could already picture her sitting at home, scrolling through all those hateful comments, each one cutting deeper than the last. And he hadn’t been there to stop it. Guilt washed over him in waves, his mind running a mile a minute.
“You need to fix this, mate,” Carlos added. “She needs to hear it from you.”
“Yeah,” Lando nodded, though Carlos couldn’t see him. “Yeah, I’ll fix it. Thanks, Carlos.”
“Don’t let her sit with it too long, alright? You know how she gets.”
Lando’s chest felt tight as he ended the call. His thoughts swirled, an overwhelming sense of panic bubbling inside him. She’s hurting because of me. I should’ve known. Why didn’t I check in with her sooner?
He couldn’t stop the spiral. His mind raced through every scenario—Y/N sitting there, thinking she wasn’t good enough, believing for even a second that anyone, let alone Amelia, could ever come close to what she meant to him. What if she starts pulling away? What if she starts believing those comments?
Lando could feel the pressure building in his chest, his heart pounding as he drove. He hated the thought of her doubting his feelings, doubting herself. She was the most important person in his life, the one he thought about constantly. How could she not know that?
I need to make it up to her. I need to show her how much I love her.
As he passed a convenience store, he swerved into the parking lot on impulse, throwing the car into park. He rushed inside, his eyes scanning the aisles in a frenzy. What would make her smile? What would remind her that she’s everything?
His heart still raced as he grabbed her favorite chocolate, the one she always ate when she was feeling down. Next, he spotted a small display of flowers—bright, colorful blooms that would make her laugh at how cheesy they were. He grabbed those too, along with a soft plush bear that looked far too childish but somehow felt perfect for this moment.
As he stood at the checkout, waiting for the clerk to ring everything up, his mind was still spinning. What if it’s not enough? What if she’s already convinced herself that she’s not good enough for me?
No, he told himself firmly. I’ll make her see. I’ll make her believe it.
He rushed back to the car, throwing the flowers and chocolates onto the passenger seat, already picturing her face when she saw them. She deserves the world, and I’ve been too caught up to remind her of that. I’m such an idiot.
The drive home felt longer than ever, his heart pounding in his chest as his thoughts swirled between guilt, panic, and determination. By the time he pulled into the driveway, he felt like he couldn’t breathe.
He grabbed everything from the seat, taking a deep breath as he walked up to the door. I need to fix this.
Lando fumbled with his keys, his hands shaking slightly as he unlocked the door. He stepped inside quietly, his eyes immediately searching for her. The house was quiet, but he knew she was there. He could feel the tension in the air, the weight of unspoken feelings hanging between them.
“Y/N?” he called softly, stepping further into the house, the flowers and chocolates held awkwardly in his hands.
She appeared from the living room, her eyes red-rimmed, a telltale sign that she’d been crying. Seeing her like that nearly broke him.
“Hey,” she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lando swallowed hard, his heart aching at the sight of her. “I, uh, got you something,” he said, holding up the flowers and chocolates, his voice shaky with nerves.
Y/N’s eyes flickered to the items in his hands, a soft, surprised smile tugging at the corner of her lips despite her sadness.
“Why?” she asked, though her voice wasn’t accusatory—it was more like she didn’t understand why he would do something so sweet when she felt so far from deserving it.
“Because…” Lando stepped closer, his chest tightening again as he searched for the right words. “Because I love you, and I’ve been an idiot. I should’ve known how all of this would make you feel, and I didn’t—” He took a deep breath, his voice catching slightly. “You’re everything to me, Y/N. I don’t care what anyone says. I only care about you.”
She looked at him, her eyes softening, but the hurt was still there. “Lando, I just… I don’t want to feel like I’m not enough for you. And with everything people are saying—”
“Stop,” Lando interrupted, stepping closer and setting the flowers and chocolates down so he could take her hands in his. “You are more than enough. You’re everything. I hate that you ever doubted that, and I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to stop it before it got this far.”
His voice cracked, the weight of his guilt pouring out. “I should’ve texted you, called you, anything. I hate that you had to sit there and read all those stupid comments. I love you, Y/N. No one else, not Amelia, not anyone. Just you.”
Y/N’s lip trembled, her walls breaking down as she looked into his eyes. “I just… I don’t want to lose you.”
“You won’t,” Lando promised, his voice firm as he pulled her into a tight hug. “You won’t lose me. I’m right here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
She buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking into his shirt, but Lando didn’t care. All that mattered was that she was in his arms, and he was never letting go.
“I love you,” she whispered against his chest, her voice muffled but full of emotion.
“I love you more,” Lando murmured, kissing the top of her head softly. "Always."
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
The race weekend buzz filled the paddock, mechanics and engineers bustling around in preparation for the big day. Lando stood near his McLaren, helmet in hand, but his eyes were focused on Y/N, standing just a few feet away. She was watching him, that small, soft smile on her lips that always made his heart race more than any lap could.
They hadn’t spoken much since arriving at the track, but everything between them felt different now—closer, stronger. And as Lando walked toward her, the noise of the paddock seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them.
Y/N looked up, her eyes meeting his. “Ready to win today?” she asked, her voice teasing but full of warmth.
Lando grinned, but something stirred in him as he stood there, watching her. He couldn’t shake the overwhelming feeling that he needed to do more—show her, not just tell her, how much she meant to him. Not later, not when the race was over, but now. Right now.
Without thinking twice, he closed the gap between them in two quick strides. His helmet dropped from his hand, clattering to the ground, but he didn’t care.
“Lando?” Y/N asked, her eyes widening in surprise as he reached for her.
Before she could say anything more, Lando cupped her face in his hands, pulling her in for a kiss—a deep, passionate kiss that made the world around them disappear. His lips moved against hers with an intensity that spoke louder than words ever could, his hands trembling slightly as he held her close.
Y/N gasped into the kiss, her fingers instinctively gripping the front of his race suit as she melted into him, caught completely off guard by the suddenness of it. But the way he kissed her—the urgency, the need—told her everything she needed to know.
When he finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, their foreheads resting together. The paddock around them had come to a standstill, everyone frozen in place, eyes wide as they witnessed the moment.
Lando smiled softly, his thumb brushing against her cheek as he whispered, “I love you so much, Y/N. And I don’t care who knows it.”
Y/N’s eyes sparkled with a mixture of shock and happiness, her cheeks flushed. “Lando… I—”
But before she could finish, he kissed her again—this time softer, more tender, but still just as full of meaning.
When he pulled back, Y/N let out a small laugh, shaking her head. “You do realize you just kissed me in front of half the grid, right?”
Lando grinned, glancing around for the first time to see the eyes of drivers, team members, and media locked on them. Phones were out, no doubt capturing the moment that was already spreading across the internet like wildfire.
“Good,” he said with a mischievous smirk. “Now the whole world knows who I love.”
Y/N laughed, rolling her eyes as she playfully hit his chest. “You’re such a show-off.”
“Only for you,” Lando teased, pulling her in for one last quick kiss. “Gotta give them something to talk about, right?”
As he bent down to grab his helmet, his eyes stayed locked on hers, the playful grin never leaving his face. He knew what he’d just done—how this moment was going to blow up online, how everyone was going to be talking about the “kiss heard ‘round the paddock.”
And honestly, he didn’t care. Let them talk. Let them post. Let the internet go wild.
He winked at her as he started to back toward the car. “Wish me luck?”
Y/N smiled brightly, her heart racing from the kiss and the moment that felt so surreal. “You don’t need luck,” she called after him. “You’ve got me.”
Lando laughed, a lightness in his chest as he put on his helmet, ready for the race. But before he climbed into the car, he stole one last glance at her.
And when he saw her standing there, beaming at him, he knew—he’d already won.
By the time Lando was strapped in and the race was about to begin, the internet had already exploded.
“Lando Norris pulls Y/N into a kiss before the race—power move!” “Is this the most romantic moment in F1 history?” “#LandosLove trending as fans lose their minds over that kiss.”
But all that mattered to Lando, sitting in his McLaren, was the fact that Y/N was there, watching him, and she knew—without a doubt—that she was the only one he cared about.
And today, he was going to win. For her.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
As soon as the kiss went viral, Instagram was flooded with posts, stories, and comments, with fans going absolutely wild over the moment.

i love your writing style smmm so could i request headcanons for ace (or any other charas if youd like ^^) reacting to a fem reader who usually wears really baggy outfits to hide the fact that theyre a girl and just generally doesnt really care too much if she looks presentable, suddenly getting dragged away and all dolled up because vil or someone sees their potential or just hates seeing them all disheveled. Would be really funny to see reader wearing clothes that shouldnt suit their usual messy but wearing clothes catered to their right gender just somehow compliments them in every way (maybe a little like haruhi from ouran lol)
Ace, Deuce reacting to a Glow Up
a/n: added deuce cause i can't separate adeuce, sorry for the long wait, i hope you like it <3
Ace Trappola
Ace isn’t the type to pay attention to small details, but when he sees you walking into the cafeteria all dolled up, he practically chokes on his drink. He does an actual spit-take, earning glares from everyone around him.
“Wait, what the—THAT’S the prefect?! No way! Did Vil brainwash you or something?”
True to form, Ace masks his flustered reaction with relentless teasing.
“Whoa, are you trying to get someone’s attention or what? Who’s the lucky guy, huh?”
But deep down, his brain is screaming, Oh no. They’re way too cute. Abort mission.
He cannot stop staring. He thinks he’s being subtle, but he’s absolutely not. Every time you look up, you catch him gawking at you from across the room. When you call him out on it, he quickly looks away and mutters, “W-What? No, I wasn’t staring. You’re imagining things.”
Ace keeps slipping up and saying things he doesn’t mean to out loud.
“I mean, you look… uh, decent, I guess.”
Five minutes later: “Okay, fine, you look great, but don’t let it go to your head!”
If anyone else compliments you, Ace suddenly gets super competitive.
“Oh, sure, they look good, but it’s not like that big of a deal. I mean, I’ve seen them in worse.”
He’s secretly seething every time someone even glances your way, but he plays it off with his usual cocky attitude.
He also starts overcompensating. Ace starts trying to act cooler around you to match your new look, which inevitably backfires. He’ll lean casually against a wall, trip over his own feet, and then pretend it didn’t happen.
“Yeah, uh… totally meant to do that. Just testing the floor’s stability.”
Despite all the teasing, Ace can’t help but soften a bit. He starts doing little things, like carrying your books or offering to help you with classwork (even though he’s probably worse at it than you are).
“What? I’m just being nice. Don’t read into it, okay?”
If you thank him or genuinely compliment him in return, Ace loses all composure.
“Y-Yeah, well, don’t get used to it! I’m not your servant or anything!”
Later, when he’s with Deuce and Grim, he won’t stop bringing up how “weird” it is to see you like this.
“It’s not that I care or anything, but like… did you see them? Who knew they could clean up like that? Crazy, right?”
Deuce, who has caught on, just side-eyes him. “Dude, you’re obsessed.”
One day, while you’re back in your baggy clothes, Ace blurts out:
“You know, you looked good all dressed up, but you’re fine like this too… Not like I care or anything!”
His face turns bright red, and he immediately backtracks, leaving you laughing at his expense.
In the Long Term:
He continues teasing you, but it’s lighter and less frequent, like he’s trying to cover up how much he actually liked seeing this new side of you.
Eventually, Ace becomes oddly protective of you when Vil tries to drag you off for another makeover. “Hey, leave them alone! They’re fine the way they are!”
He’ll never outright admit it, but your glow-up has him reevaluating his feelings—and now he’s in even deeper than before.
Deuce Spade
Deuce sees you walk into the cafeteria, and his entire brain just shuts down. He stops mid-bite of his lunch, fork suspended in the air, staring at you like he’s just seen a ghost.
“...Is that… the prefect?” he whispers, nearly dropping his plate.
Deuce attempts to act normal, but he’s about as subtle as a brick through a window.
“Oh, hey! You, uh, look different. I mean, not in a bad way! Like, uh, good different! Wait, not that you didn’t look good before! I mean—uh…”
Cue him tripping over his own feet while trying to keep up with you.
He genuinely believes Vil might’ve forced you into this makeover.
“Are you okay? Did Vil threaten you or something? Blink twice if you need help!”
When you laugh and explain it was more or less voluntary, Deuce blushes furiously and mutters, “Oh. Well, um… you look really nice.”
When other students start complimenting you, Deuce doesn’t know how to feel. On one hand, he’s proud that everyone is noticing how amazing you are. On the other, he’s irrationally annoyed by how much attention you’re getting.
“Yeah, yeah, they look great, okay? You don’t have to keep saying it!”
If anyone gets too bold with their compliments or tries to flirt with you, Deuce is immediately stepping in.
“Hey, back off! They don’t need your input!”
You have to gently remind him that people are just being nice.
No matter how hard he tries, Deuce keeps sneaking glances at you. When you catch him, he looks away so fast he almost gives himself whiplash.
“I wasn’t staring! I just… thought I saw something behind you!”
Deuce isn’t the smoothest when it comes to expressing his feelings, but he tries his best.
“You… you look amazing. Not that you didn’t before! But, uh, this is, like… wow. I’m gonna stop talking now.”
While Ace might tease you about your glow-up, Deuce’s first thought is whether or not you’re okay with all the attention.
"If you’re feeling uncomfortable or anything, just let me know, okay? I’ll tell everyone to back off.”
Deuce starts doing little things to make you smile, like grabbing extra napkins for you at lunch or awkwardly trying to help carry your things. He doesn’t even realize he’s doing it half the time.
Later that night, Deuce vents to Epel, pacing around the room.
“I mean, they’ve always been great, but now they look so… I don’t know! It’s distracting! What am I supposed to do, Epel?!”
Epel, munching on snacks, just rolls his eyes. “Wow, you’re hopeless.”
One day, when you’re back to your usual baggy clothes, Deuce finally works up the courage to say something genuine.
“You know, I thought you looked amazing all dressed up, but honestly? You don’t need all that. You’re already perfect the way you are.”
He says it so earnestly that you can’t help but smile, and his face immediately turns bright red. “I-I mean, uh, not perfect! I just—uh, never mind!”
In the Long Term:
Deuce continues to be your biggest supporter, quietly cheering you on from the sidelines while trying not to make his feelings too obvious.
He’s protective in the sweetest way, always ready to step in if Vil pushes you too hard or if anyone makes you uncomfortable.
Every once in a while, he’ll bring up how great you looked during your glow-up, but it’s always with a shy smile and a soft tone. It’s clear he liked it, but he also thinks you’re amazing just as you are.
Over time, Deuce starts to realize just how much he cares for you, and your glow-up only solidified what he was already feeling.

spiderman!ellie x reader
synopsis: Y/n is still reeling over last weeks events when she goes over to Ellie’s place for the first time. She can’t believe she was able to meet Spider-Man again! (Psst! She still doesn’t know it’s actually Spider-Woman!)
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“Hey, how come I’ve never been over to your place before?” you poke Ellie with your pencil, she sighs and leans back into her chair.
“Ah, you don’t wanna go there.. I live with my Uncle Tommy and Aunt Maria and he can be kinda, well, y’know ‘daddish,’” you giggle at her wording.
“But still, it’s no fair, you’ve been coming to my place for awhile and I don’t even know where you like and—!”
“God, fine, fine! If I knew you wanted to come over so badly, I woulda invited you sooner, gosh,” Ellie puts her hands up and lets out a chuckle, “You can come over tomorrow night, Tommy ‘nd Maria are gonna be outta town so, uh, I’ll send you my address or whatever.”
You nod and get back to work.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Fuck, am I too early? Do I seem to eager?? your mind is racing as you pace outside apartment 419, finally you put your fist up to knock on the white wooden door but before your fist could come in contact with the door, it swings open, revealing Ellie, her hair wet, white tank top, and loose basketball shorts, and her hand adjusting her glasses, “Oh, hey Y/n.”
Hey? Hey?? How could she be so casual when she’s looking, well… like that?? you’re internall screaming, your gaze drifts towards her forearm, you had no idea she had a tattoo. Almost like she could read your mind, she rubs her tattoo.
“Oh, yeah.. guess you wouldn’t know about this, uh, yeah, I got a tattoo like two years ago? It’s a fern with a spider,” she moves aside, “Come inside, you must be freezing.”
Her apartment smells like pine, tobacco, and fabric softener, it’s nice. There are horse paintings all over the walls as well as some movie posters. It’s a nice place, pretty big, well, bigger than your apartment, at least.
You turn to look at Ellie who’s just awkwardly standing in the hallway. You’re about to ask where her room is when she blurts out, “Water?!”
You jump a little, taken aback by the sudden statement, “Uh, y-yeah, I’ll take some water.”
The auburnette nods and rushes off to the kitchen, has she ever had anyone come over? The thought kinda makes you giggle, if you’re right, then that must be the reason for her being so awkward.
She comes barging into the living room and hands the water to you, still awkwardly standing in the middle of the room.
You can tell that you need to be the one to direct this evening, “So, wanna study out here or in your room?”
Ellie thinks for a second, “Uh, my room? All my stuff is there and it’s warmer in there than it is out here,” she rubs the back of her neck nervously.
“Alright,” you follow her to a room at the end of the hall, the door is slightly cracked and water droplets are trailing from it down the hallway, weird.
“Uh, this is it,” Ellie walks in, “Ah, crap, forgot to close that,” she rushes over to her window, wide open and rain is pouring in.
You giggle a bit, she can be kinda clumsy. You glance around her room, it’s decked out in movie and band posters, above her bed is a cork board with picture of a boy and a girl you’d seen around campus a few times, her desk is a little cluttered but for the most part neat, there are comic books all over her bed.
“Sorry, meant to clean before you came over.. but then I just got home like a few minutes before you and—.”
“Huh? No you didn’t, I was outside for at least five minutes,” you giggle, Ellie’s face drops.
“Oh, well, I meant to say it felt like a few minutes, y’know?” She scratches her nose.
You nod and take a seat on her bed, “So, shall we?” you pat the space next to you.
“S-Shall we what?” Ellie’s ears are red and her hand instinctively moves to her face to push her glasses up.
“Study?” you giggle, you had an idea of what she was initially thinking.
“Oh! Yeah! Uh, totally, totally… let’s study,” her ears are still burning bright red as she takes a seat next to you.
For the next two hours, the two of you studied your asses off until you got hungry which gave the both of you the bright idea of ordering pizza, Ellie suggested Hawaiian and how could you say no to that?
So, while the two of you were waiting for the pizza to arrive, Ellie told you all about how she used to be a delivery girl for the place so since then, they give her a 5% off discount, “Yeah, I know, right? The owner is so generous, one time h—.”
Ding dong!
Ellie groaned, disappointed she couldn’t finish her story, “I’ll get it.”
Now was your chance! You’re a pretty nosy person. You push yourself up off her bed and take a look around, opening drawers, until you come to one that’s locked..? You didn’t even know drawers could be locked.. hmm.. must be something pricey, whatever. You open up her closet and it looks like she did try to clean up before you came over, clothes are crammed into an overflowing laundry basket and there’s a pile of.. wet clothes..? Before you could bend down to inspect them, Ellie yells from the kitchen for you to get dinner, you hurriedly shut the closet door and make your way to the kitchen.
“Ah, this looks good,” Ellie mutters as she pulls out some plates.
While you wait for Ellie to get her slices, you take a look around, on the fridge are magnets from Boston, Wyoming, Seattle, and a few pictures. One picture stands out to you the most, it’s a picture of what looks like baby Ellie and a handsome looking man, “Hey, who’s that?”
Ellie, mid-bite looks over at who you’re talking about, “Oh, um, that’s no one, hey lets watch a movie, I got beer too,” Ellie is out of the kitchen before you know it.
You can tell she didn’t wanna talk about it so you weren’t going to push her to, you didn’t want to scare her off.
She puts on a movie but the two of you don’t really pay attention, to engrossed in each other.
Then, after a few drinks the two of you are talking about yourselves and somehow, the conversation gears towards Spider-Man, causing you to giggle and think about the events that transpired last week.
“It was like a dream, Els. Like, one second I thought I was donezo then the next, I’m soaring through the air, his arms wrapped around me! Ugh, I can’t get him outta my mind!!”
Ellie chokes on her pizza then takes another sip of her beer, “Y-yeah?”
“Then, he gently puts me down on top of this beautiful rooftop garden, which would’ve been nice if I knew how to get down haha, I was stuck up there for an hour and a half until a nice lady helped me down, “Ellie chokes on her pizza again, “It was so magical but the only thing was.. he was like.. really awkward about the whole thing.. when i said “Oh my god, It’s you,’ he responded with ‘Yeah, I-it’s me,” and then when he put me down he just stared at me for a bit then said ‘bye’ before taking a step off the rooftop.”
Ellie’s face is pretty red, the alcohol must be really getting to her, she wipes her mouth, “Come on, he’s not that awkward..”
You giggle, “He totally is! If I weren’t a loyal fan, I might have switched over to being Hulk’s fan.”
“No!” Ellie blurts out, the silence is loud after she says that, ‘Uh, I mean, no way..! Spider-Man is way cooler than the Hulk..”
You nod, “Mhm, totally.. besides I don’t care for all those muscles.. I like how lean Spidey is.”
Ellie suddenly jumps up, “I have to go to the bathroom!”
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Ellie’s POV.
God, why is she just standing out there?? Does she not wanna come in?? My spidey senses can feel her standing outside the door and they can feel her foot beating against the floor, Should I go out there?? Nah, I should take these clothes off first, gosh, I really need to invest in some thermal wear for my next suit, this shit is SOAKED.
“Fuck, my room’s a mess.. should clean that up.. just gonna stuff those in here and lock that and fold that.. looks… decent..” i grumble, “Should get the door now, I guess…”
Now, let’s be cool and casual about this..
“Oh, hey.” FUCK. Was that too casusal?? Why does she look like that?? Why are her eyes so wide?? Ohh, my tattoo.
“Oh, yeah.. guess you wouldn’t know about this, uh, yeah, I got a tattoo like two years ago? It’s a fern with a spider,” rubbing my, “Come inside, you must be freezing.”
Why is she inspecting everything? What is this an apartment inspection, does it smell funny??
Ah, never really had anyone over that isn’t Dina or Jesse.. what do you do when someone comes over?? What did she do when I first came over… oh In know!
“Water?” that was cool right?? casual?? Why does she look so scared.. weirdo.
“Uh, y-yeah, I’ll take some water,” perfect! I know just the cup to give it to her in.. I think she’ll love this Avengers cup.
I hand her the cup and she takes a sip, not even noticing the cup, I frown a bit as I stare at the cup, sigh.
“So, wanna study out here or in your room?”
“Uh, my room? All my stuff is there and it’s warmer in there than it is out here,” agh, that robber really got me, my neck feels like it’s on fire, should put a heat patch on it later or ask Dina for a massage..
We get to my room and I can already hear the rain hitting the floor from down the fall, “Uh, this is it, ah, crap, forgot to close that,” I rush to close the window.
I apologize for not cleaning my room first, trying my absolute beset to avoid making eye contact with her.. why did she have to wear THAT shirt. Like, why a Spider-Man shirt of all things??
“So, shall we?” She pats my bed.. UHHH WHAT THE FUCK DOES SHE MEAN?? Like, DO I TAKE MY CLOTHES OFF OR..?
“S-shall we what?”
“Study?”
Ohhh…. “Oh! Yeah! Uh, totally, totally… let’s study.”
The next couple of hours go by smoothly, except my senses tingle a little every time she brushes against me and I have to keep fighting the urge to catch a pencil midair before it rolls off my desk..
I can also hear how hungry she is.. I’ll call and place an order.
While we wait, I tell her about the time I was a delivery girl and about my 5% discount and—
The doorbell, great timing, I push myself up off my bed and get it.
The pizza smells pretty good, I think, “Hey, Y/n, time to eat.”
I hear shuffling and she comes down to the kitchen, while I prep our plates, she takes a look around.
Wait, fuck, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please please—
“Hey, who’s that,” I know what she’s talking about before I even look over, I stuff a pizza into my mouth and gulp it down.
“Oh, um, that’s no one, hey lets watch a movie, I got beer too,” god, Joel please forgive me.
Not really wanting to think about Joel, I put on Curtis and Viper 2, even thought this is a FANTASTIC movie, I can’t help but talk to her instead, her words are better than any movie.
“It was like a dream, Els. Like, one second I thought I was donezo then the next, I’m soaring through the air, his arms wrapped around me! Ugh, I can’t get him outta my mind!!”
I tried, I really did try to direct the conversation away from this particular topic and yet, it still took me by surprise, almost making me choke on my pizza, “Y-Yeah?”
She continues, of course, she continues, “Then, he gently puts me down on top of this beautiful rooftop garden, which would’ve been nice if I knew how to get down haha, I was stuck up there for an hour and a half until a nice lady helped me down, It was so magical but the only thing was.. he was like.. really awkward about the whole thing.. when i said “Oh my god, It’s you,’ he responded with ‘Yeah, I-it’s me,” and then when he put me down he just stared at me for a bit then said ‘bye’ before taking a step off the rooftop.”
She makes me sound like a total loser! I was NOT that awkward.. and If I had known that she wouldn’t have been able to get down.. and it’s not like I CHOSE to step off the rooftop like that.. I just didn’t expect for the drop off to be so close..
Still, I must defend my honour, “Come on, he’s not that awkward..”
She giggles, “He totally is! If I weren’t a loyal fan, I might have switched over to being Hulk’s fan.”
“No!” I blurts out, FUCK, I DIDN”T MEAN TO SAY THAT, okay, okay, lets be chill about this, ‘Uh, I mean, no way..! Spider-Man is way cooler than the Hulk..”
She’s not serious right?? I kinda like having a fan girl like her.. I mean she’s cute and all but still, it’s better than the people who believe the whole ‘Spider-Man’ is evil and a spy from Russia..
She nod, “Mhm, totally.. besides I don’t care for all those muscles.. I like how lean Spidey is.”
“I have to go to the bathroom!”
I practically run to the bathroom, and pump my fist in the air.
LETS GOOOOOOO. Suck that, Bruce, she’s MY fan girl.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
YOUR POV
After Ellie returns from the restroom, you help her clean up the dishes then, sadly, it’s time for you to leave.
“See ya tomorrow,” you smile and squeeze her hand before you leave and venture into the rainy night.
“Ugh, It’s so fuckin cold.. and no taxis! Of course!” you huff and keep walking, praying that the Subways are still working, then, the totally not crazy thought pops into your mind, lets walk through the cold dark alley that no doubtedly has diseases not yet known to man! Who knows, maybe this is how you’ll break into the medical field, not as a doctor but as patient zero!
As you giggle at your own jokes, a hand wraps around your mouth and pulls you behind a dumpster, a gruff voice whispers in your ear, “Gimme er’vything in yer pocket.”
You nod frantically, hey, it’s better to lose the twenty in your pocket rather than your life, yeah?
Just as you pull out your wallet, you feel his gun press against the small of your back, “Yer a purty lit’l thang aren’t ya?”
The blood in your veins freeze and so do your movements. Fuck, you always thought that if this ever were to happen to you, you’d be like Aileen Wuornos and like totally kill him but now, now you’re a deer caught in the headlights, his gun moves lower..
Then before it can dip into your jeans, his body is flying into the wall and is that.. Spider-Man?? Spider-Man is on top of him in seconds, pummeling his fist into the street vermin’s face over and over, grunts elicit from the masked figure then when you can no longer hear the man’s cries. Spider-Man walks over to you then in the blink of an eye, he’s gone..
“Missed me?” you hear a raspy voice say from behind you.
You jump and whip around, Spidey’s face is inches from yours, he’s hanging upside down, and you can’t see it but you’re pretty sure he’s smiling.
“Ah, you scared me!” You swat at his chest.
He chuckles, huh, his voice is a little higher than you thought it’d be, “My bad, my bad.”
“What’re you doin’ here? Stalking me, Spider-Boy?”
He chuckles, “I wouldn’t have to if you didn’t attract danger as much as you do, hell, I should be gettin’ paid for this, it’s basically overtime.”
You roll your eyes but your smile betrays your annoyed act, “Yeah, you want a reward?”
Spidey nods, you take a step forward and gently pull down his mask, he gasps and grabs your hands, trying to stop you from pulling it down, you reassure him, “Don’t worry, Spidey, I wont take it all the way off.”
He nods and loosens his grip, allowing you to reveal his lips, they look so soft, his face is a lot smaller, too.
You take a step forward and press your lips against his, the pillowy soft pink lips fit your perfectly.
You pull away, “How’s that for a reward?”
“That was, uh, thanks,” he pulls up his mask and stands right side up, he waves and is pulled from his spot, swinging away on his webs.
You touch your lips, the touch of his still lingering on yours..

The fraternity party.
It was Saturday morning and as Timothy knew, today was a day full of alcohol and sex at the fraternity and like every Saturday, he couldn't study with the music so loud.
Timothy stood up from his bed, rubbed his eyes and put on his glasses, the boy was cute, with just his cute brunette hair combed halfway down, his cute glasses and his baby face and with only 1"60 height, They made Timothy one of the cutest guys in college even though everyone knew he was gay and a nerd.
"Good morning, I guess" Timothy commented as he got out of bed and went to the closet to put on something comfortable, it was Saturday, it was sunny and he was just going to be studying all day, So he just put on a white t-shirt, jeans and sandals.
Once he got ready, he sat on his bed with some books, pencils, notebooks and started studying, it had to be like this because he had a scholarship and he couldn't waste this moment, His dream was to be a scientist so he had to study a lot, it didn't affect him, he loved studying.
"I will have a future, not like that idiot Jack and his "brothers" " Timothy commented while letting out a chuckle.
While someone was laughing, or rather something, interrupted the moment, Timothy continued with his thing while saying a "come in" The moment they opened the door, to their dismay it was Jack, He was shirtless, wearing short shorts showing off his amazing hairy legs and a pair of sandals showing off his large, masculine feet.
Even though Timothy hated Jack, he actually had a crush on him but it was obvious that he would never tell him, because if that happened he knew his life would change completely.
"Hey! Lil' bro, I came to invite you to our frat party and well, I also wanted to know if we could be friends, you know? I had an argument with that idiot Luke"
Timothy looked at him and raised an eyebrow, Jack wasn't the typical idiot jock who made fun of him for being gay or nerdy, but he found it quite strange that he came to invite him to the party and even more so, Also ask him to be his friend.
"Uhm, Jack, you know that I don't like those parties and also, why would you ask me to be your friend? I mean, there are quite a few differences between us." Timothy commented in a calm and light tone as he continued reading a book.
"Uh, uh, I know that bro, but I don't know, I'm feeling nice today you know? Plus, you'd be a good replacement for Luke, I mean, two of both weren't the same in body or sexual orientation, but you guys are pretty cute and funny, so what do you say, lil' bro? Jack commented with a smile on his face.
"Sorry Jack, but I can't go to your party. Be your friend, yes, but go to your party, no. I have homework to do and a lot more chores, but seriously, have fun!"
"C'mon, bro! Don't be a party pooper, I see you studying every day, you should go out and party for a while to brighten up your life! It'll only be for a little while and then I'll leave you and you can come back to study, okay?"
Timothy turned to look at him and a smile appeared on his face.
"Okay, okay, you win, you're right, I should have some fun, but then I go back to my room to study, okay?
"yeah!" Jack commented as he watched Timothy get up from the bed and walk over to him to stand by his side, their height difference was different.
Once Timothy stood next to Jack, Jack put an arm around him as the two walked towards the frat house, once they arrived Timothy was quite surprised, There were shirtless men everywhere, women flirting with these same men, and quite a bit of alcohol.
Jack's brothers turned to see him and greeted him, Jack grabbed Timothy and they went to where they were, Timothy greeted them and they did too.
"Wow, wow, what do we have here?" one of Jack's bro's commented.
"Well, he'll be our new bro, since that idiot Luke didn't appreciate us and speaking of that"
Jack looked at Timothy.
"This is a frat party, it's hot, it's summer, Luke left some clothes at our frat, go to his room and wear what you like, okay? Back room and turn to the right."
Hearing this, Timothy nodded as he walked into the fraternity house, he wasn't surprised at all, there were clothes lying around, they were dirty, they had a weird smell, just like he imagined, Once he got to Luke's room and opened it, there were still some posters of half-naked women, workout gear, and some stuff lying around.
Jack went to his closet and looked for something clean and that would fit the heat and then he found some brown shorts with palm trees printed on them.
"These are pretty cute, hehe, I can't believe I'm going to wear frat boy clothes! So horny... I hope they fit me well."
Once Timothy told himself that, he took off his jeans and threw them on the floor while he put on Luke's shorts, once he put them on he had to go look at himself in the mirror And luckily for he, there was a full-body one in Luke's room, so he went and looked at himself, it looked pretty cute.
And then before he could get back to Jack, he started to feel weird and hot, the idea of wearing a muscled frat boy's clothes excited him but he didn't realize how much.
The heat that his body felt was too much, so he took off his shirt and let it fall on the floor, while the heat rose even more.
"What the fuck is going on!?" Timothy said while covering his mouth, he had never said a rude thing in his life, so he was in shock.
But before he could continue wondering, he saw with his own eyes how his feet began to become larger and more masculine, His fingers lengthened as a manly scent came from them.
At this point Timothy was so in shock with everything, that he froze, instead of running or calling for help, he stood in front of the mirror with a scared face.
He watched as his thin legs began to increase in size, while becoming stronger, more of an athlete, Muscles began to emerge from these same ones while their skin changed to a more mature one, Now he had two trunks as legs.
He watched as his stomach began to move on its own, burning all the fat he had so that a six pack of abs would appear, They looked very worked out, as if they were in the gym all day, Timothy knew this was all wrong, but he couldn't move.
The next thing to change were his arms, which were once thin but began to swell with pure muscle while his biceps reached the size of soccer balls, some veins stood out on his arms, his hands also changed, his fingers lengthened while now having a more masculine and mature appearance.
His thin chest began to burn as his pectorals began to bulge reaching a great size, they became large and sensitive, His torso expanded along with his shoulders to give him a more jock look.
His face began to creak as he began to change, his Adam's apple becoming even more prominent, All the baby fat he had began to oxidize to give way to a more defined jawline while a small shadow of hair appeared on this same jawline, His lips became fuller, his nose became prettier, his cheekbones became more prominent, but despite all that, he still had a rather cute and baby-like face.
He also increased in height, going from 1'60 to a powerful 1'80 making him the tallest in the fraternity.
His eyes also changed, his haircut also began to change to a more relaxing and masculine look and also somewhat jock, His hair that was brown began to change, The black began to take place to completely disappear into the brown, his hair that was also straight began to change to curly, curls fell on his face.
Timothy began to feel pressure on his cock, it was at that moment that he saw how his cock began to grow bigger under his shorts, Curious to know, he pulled down his pants and his new designer boxers and watched as his penis went from 5 centimeters to about 15 centimeters, His cock was now thick and big, even more so because it was erect, then he began to feel the need to jerk off.
"I have a nice body... Nice face and a nice new cock, why not?" Timothy commented as he began to jerk off his new cock.
As he did this, new memories began to flood his mind, memories of how he joined the fraternity, how he became friends with Jack, how he loved women and their t*ts... No, he was gay... Right?
He also remembered how this morning before the frat party he had gotten into a fight with Jack, Timothy reached orgasm and his "sweet milk" began to spread all over the floor of the room.
"Damn... Just imagining how many girls I'll pick up today and also how I'm going to feed them with my seed makes me pretty horny." Luke comment with his voice, which certainly sounded masculine and very mature.
"Right! There's a party outside, Jack and my other brothers must be waiting for me."
Luke commented and then put his cock in his shorts, left his room and arrived with his brothers.
"Wow, looks like someone isn't mad at me anymore, right Luke?" Jack commented while patting his chest.
they talked for a while and then he asked his brothers to take a photo to upload it for his Instagram.
He knew he was hot and he didn't want to waste any time showing off his great achievements.

wc: 4.5k
You have been in camp half blood for more than 4 years. You have made yourself at home for the last several years.
It was easy to view yourself as lesser or inadequate in comparison to other mortals during your days in the real world before you were sent to camp. The world has never failed to remind you of how different you were. Always too much or not good enough, always special and never normal
And it wasn't like you were dying for some sort of diagnosis to justify why you are the way you are, but upon discovering that you were actually a demigod, it felt like all the questions you've been harboring to yourself was finally answering themselves.
Everything clicked. Everything made sense, though at the same time, it felt impossible. You were a very confused little girl when you first arrived at camp. A girl who just wanted someone to tell them that it'll all be alright in the end.
And you still remembered the first person to hold you by your shoulders and made you look into their eyes as they told you that it was all going to be okay.
The girl with beautiful long curls and dark piercing eyes. The girl that everyone else, apparently, was afraid of.
But you could never be afraid of Clarisse La Rue.
Not with the way she smiles when every time she sees you, the way she never fails to make you feel included even in activities you're not capable of participating in. Not with the way your whole body electrifies every time your skin touches, when your hands brush against each other.
It didn't matter what anyone think, because no one could change the perception you've built of her. Clarisse La Rue is good. Or at least she is to you.
When you first heard of the rumours surrounding her, you did think better than to force a friendship on her. You strayed away from her and stuck to your cabin siblings and your books, but you noticed daily how she'd still go out of her way to talk to you at least once a day.
It didn't need to be a long conversation, just a passing acknowledgement. An easygoing 'hey, how've you been doing.' Sometimes she'd even go as far as cracking a joke with you.
With how serious her face is whenever she make the jokes, you'd have to think twice as hard and thrice as faster than another person to try and guess if she was being genuine or not so you could fit in a necessary laugh when you needed to.
Even as her anger became more apparent because of the new kid's accidental climb to fame and embarrassing the Ares' cabin, she still found time to make a conversation with you.
It had been long since you tried to ignore or avoid her. You learned that her attention towards you is harmless, and that she seemed much more comfortable telling you certain things compared to others. If she has been viewing you as some sort of safe box, then you don't really mind it. You liked listening to her talk and keeping her heart's intent as your secret.
You too, talking to her. To some people, you are reserved,
and to others, talkative. Either way, people find it easy to discard you at any moment they decide you are irritating.
But Clarisse listens. And she asks questions, she's patient- much patient that anyone could anticipate or guess.
It may be hard for others to believe, but Clarisse is more complex than she seems. She had the capacity to be gentle, and she had the capacity to respect boundaries. The more time you spent with her, the more that side becomes easy for you to access.
Today, however, marks a new record for your friendship with her. A few weeks ago, she had informed you of her newfound interest in the history of folklore monsters. What a coincidence that you were currently self-studying on that specific topic.
She insisted that you hook her in on whatever it is you're learning. She had even gotten you a doughnut to eat together outside the library as you told her of your insights of dragons and their theorized blindness and incapability to differentiate a variety of prey.
The conversation went well, she seemed immensely in awe of your knowledge and had no problem telling you how she felt.
You even gave her some book recommendations, though you knew she wasn't much of a reader.
You felt a shift in your relationship that night and had spent the next three days studying more and more about the topic. And today, you had asked her to spend the evening with you.
You shouldn't feel so nervous asking her to hang out. That is what friends do, after all.
She found you in the library, sitting on the floor in between two large bookshelves. She had been right on time and enthusiastically so. The two of you sat together, hidden by the shelves as some semblance of privacy.
Clarisse looked confused when you had explained that you indeed wanted to spend the rest of the day in the library, but she accompanied you anyways.
You could never get sick of the smell of the books. Old and new, they all have some nostalgic past tied in between the pages, begging to be discovered.
You had your back on the walls with tinted windows above your head as she's seated opposite of you in a criss-crossed position.
Today, the library isn't as packed as usual. There were still people walking in and out and checking out the books on the counter, but not too many that it became obnoxiously loud and annoying.
After finishing another book of Monsters and how to spot them, you're feeling knowledgeable enough to explain the lore of the Giants to Clarisse, she had asked you about this the other day, giants have been long extinct to the point that some might even say they may have never even existed. And so you were interested in sharing with her all of the information you have learned about the majestic species of a beast.
You started with the general information. The basic understanding of what a Giant is the mythhs of Giants and the validity of those sources. Clarisse listened closely in the beginning, never interrupting you unless she had an actual question.
She seemed in awe of the stories you tell her of. You don't blame her, for you yourself have been most interested in the topic of Giants.
You were an hour an a half in when noticed her attention faltering. She leaned against the cases of books, her eyes twitched slightly when you began to explain the different types of giants, and the difference of how they operate.
Her hands are folded together on her lap, and you can feel her listening in on everything you're telling her as she adds in some commentary here and there, but you also felt that she wasn't entirely in on the conversation.
The dim lights of the library made the atmosphere feel warm and secluded, even with its vast space and many other campers hanging around in the other tables and shelves. You made sure to keep your voice low as you spoke in fear of the librarian kicking you out.
You had a good reputation with the library workers, they liked how organized and polite you were.
"A lot of people think their greatest strength is their size, which is valid, they are huge, but their real weapon is their mouth." You told Clarisse, ignoring the litter of books by your left that you had brought over for reference.
"They kiss you to death?" She asks suspiciously. You laughed shortly and shook your head. "No, I mean their breath."
She responds with an 'ohh.'
"They're giants, so their mouth is large too, and you can easily tell what they had for breakfast even from their tall height. Their breaths are also known to be so rancid it could kill you, because they don't exactly eat what we eat."
She raises a brow as she stretches her hands upwards. "Isn't that ogres?"
"It's both." You confirmed.
You were about to continue your explanation but halted by instinct as you notice how her mouth keeps pursing together as if unsatisfied, and she has that look on her face that mimicked a confused expression. You're don't think there's anything to be confused of.
"Are you okay?" You asked her worriedly. Clarisse sits up straighter at the question and waved a hand off to assure you she's fine. "Of course, no yeah- I'm fine."
"You seem bored, you're not really interested in what I'm saying are you?” She opens her mouth to counter your words but hesitates to say anything.
"I- well, I like giants-" She attempts, "-no you don't. "
"No. I don't." She admits with a sigh. "But I thought you said you were interested in these kind of stuff?" You questioned her. "Well, yeah, like the general idea of it. I mean, I don't hate it, and I like hearing you talk about it." She answers with a shrug.
"Then why do you look disappointed? If you didn't want to come, you could've just told me. I wouldn't get mad." You told her honestly. It was conflicting for you to see her so confused on what to say, being so picky with the words she chooses.
You figured she's probably reluctant to hurt your feelings. That is a notion you're used to. You'd rather she tell you the truth to your face than to be catered around like a time ticking bomb that everyone's so afraid might explode at any time.
"When you asked me out yesterday, you told me this would be an 'evening to remember." She tells you with such confidence like it was an explanation to her weird behaviour today.
"You don't think this is an evening to remember?" You sincerely inquire.
"No, I do! I just- well, when you said that I didn't think you'd mean we'd be doing this." Your frown deepens as you try to figure out what she means, eyeing her body language closely. “What do you mean? I told you I wanted to hang out.”
A part of you is offended. She was the one who had said she liked hearing you speak, why would she be disappointed that this was your idea of spending time together?
"I don't know, I thought we'd just be doing...something else?"
It didn't matter what she had really meant with that. You felt completely embarrassed once she finished her sentence. Why was it that everyone else had no problem having long conversations with their friends, but when it came to you, it's all too awkward, unnecessary, and odd?
You liked Clarisse, you considered her your friend. Sometimes you wonder if it could ever be more, but you never entertain those thoughts because you don't want to ruin what the two of you already have.
But moments like these resemble a huge slap in the face by the universe.
You couldn't even be good friends with her, how ridiculous of you to think that there could ever be something more.
"Okay, um, maybe we should just go back to our cabin." You decided whilst standing up and picking up the stack of books you're currently borrowing from the library, ready to leave the place without waiting for her.
"Hey, wait." She called out as you walked past her. You spared her a glance, trying your best not to show how upset you are. “We're friends." She says it so much like a question that you weren't sure if she's even sure of the fact herself until she continued speaking. "I like hanging out with you."
Another thing that you weren't sure if she really meant. "Sure." You replied thinking it's the most suitable response.
Before she could say anything else, you turned around and started picking up your pace until you disappeared out of her sight.
—
You have been consistently ignoring Clarisse. Which proved to be harder than expected.
When you pass by her camp or the training ground, you make a mental note to always look down or to your front as to never accidentally cross eyes with her.
And everytime you hear her call out your name, you keep walking like you didn't even hear her, knowing that she wouldn't be bold enough to call for you again. After all, she still had a reputation to uphold.
If ignoring her wasn't hard enough, having to deal with how you felt for her is worse.
You've been avoiding confrontation with yourself for weeks even before you decided to go no contact with her.
And so far, you thought you've been handling it pretty well. Except for days where you don't see her where she's expected to be. You tell yourself that you don't care as you make your way to training in the day and reading in the evening, and yet you still go back on your own words when you asked a passerby Ares kid on where his cabin leader was.
"She's dunking some kid's head into a toilet bowl." Of course she was.
You thanked the dude and went back on your way to your cabin. It's close to dusk, the sky is turning orange and the sun is dipping itself below the earth. You take your time returning to your cabin as you enjoy the way the sun slowly removes itself from anyone's viewing.
You wondered to yourself if things like these are what makes you weird or off-putting to some people.
Was enjoying nature and having niche interests only cute when it's done by girls pretty enough to be cool or if it's only in romance movies or books.
You don't find yourself weird, in fact you think all of your hobbies are pretty common and usual, and yet the way Clarisse had spoken to you at the library last week had made you feel unnatural.
You had wanted to do normal people things with her, but maybe your perception of normal is different to her.
Either way, you are pretty hurt with how she reacted. You loved her still, of course. It's kind of hard to unlike the girl you've been obsessed with since you were 15.
Once you finally reach your cabin, you quickly put down all of your books and your tiny sling back by the side before making it to the shower to refresh yourself before dinner.
You thought it hilarious of how hard you're trying not to care about Clarisse, and yet as you're cleaning yourself up, changing your clothes and attempting to read at least 15 pages of your World's Most Dangerous Beasts book, you could only think of her.
What would it take for her to think that you're cool, what kind of things did she want to do instead of listening to you yap around for 2 hours on what is an equivalent of a boring dinosaur facts, not that you really think dinosaurs are boring.
During dinner, you kept to siblings and had to make yourself finish your plate as your anxiety wrecking thoughts have a way of deriving you of an appetite. You also had to convince yourself to not search for her at the other tables which took more strength than one would expect.
But you succeeded, and you were now sure that the only obstacle left for the day was to try and fall asleep without the thoughts of her keeping you up.
Clarisse is a force, a fierce daughter of Ares, and a cabin leader who had much better things to do then hole up at quiet small places with you.
And just because she was nice enough to mantain a good relationship with you for 4 years, does not mean that you're worth her time. Or at least that's what you tell yourself.
That night, you managed to fall asleep after an hour of recalling Harpy facts in repetition. Counting sheeps had never worked on you, so you had to find something much more active to tire out your brain.
You dreamed of Clarisse with her hair down, holding your hand and pulling you closer so she could slip a flower on your ear.
And just as she's looking down at you, moving closer to do what it seemed like to kiss you, you awoke with a jolt, swearing under your breath as if you'd just gotten jumpscared by a ghost.
Someone's palms moved to shut your lips as you're met with a girl, hovering over you in the dark. Clarisse's dark eyes were recognizable, but it sent a shot of adrenaline through your body still.
"Shh." She whispered to your face, hand still keeping your mouth shut. "I'm going to remove my hands now." She whispered again. You nod in understanding and waited for her to pry her hand away from your face.
"What are you doing here?!" You exclaimed as quiet as possible as she helped you sit up.
"I'm sneaking you out." She answers with a wink. "It's 2 in the morning." You waved your hand around at the darkness and sleeping children. "3 in the morning, and yeah, I know. That's why it's called sneaking around." She corrects you with a grin so devilish that if you hadn't known her for a long time, you'd assume she's about to turn you into a new toilet bowl or dumpster boxing victim.
You sighed loudly and glared at her despite your fast beating heart. Her hand remained on top of yours until the minute becomes more awkward and she removes it as if she just remembered that she's been holding your hand.
Without explanation, she climbed out of your bed and tiptoes to the open cabin door. You're still sitting up and looking at her with conflicted feelings.
Only after she turns back to you, cocking her head towards the entrance, do you give into her request and softly leave the comfort of your bed and trail after her.
"Where are we going?" You asked after her as she kept walking. Instead of responding, she asks you another question back, "Can you swim?"
"We're going swimming?" You watch her shrug in return from behind her and became even more distressed.
"So, is this your idea of having fun and hanging out then?" She laughs drily and slowed down so you could catch up. You walked fast enough until you're beside her and waited for her to talk. "You sound surprised, I would've thought that after 4 years of friendship, you'd know by now that I love doing things that includes active movements."
You did know that, it's a bit hard to not notice how much working out, training and running fuels her even more.
"And why are we doing it in the middle of the night?" The walk towards the lake by the back of the forest was short, considering that your cabin is the closest to the location.
You almost tripped and fell over a stick, but Clarisse was quick to scoop you back up by the back of your shirt. "Thanks." You mumbled to her. "And you haven't answered my question."
Clarisse pulled her shirt over her head and tossed it on the ground without caring of your presence. You, having more moral obligations than her, twisted your face to your left when she began to pull her trousers off. "Too many people in broad daylight." She tells you.
That is a valid reason, this lake is mostly known as a hook up spot, and true to it's cause, many dating campers have been caught together here during dawn or late evenings.
You braved yourself to turn towards her again slowly and realised that she had already hopped into the water. She had a sports bra on and a boxer.
And though you yourself had a tank top and shorts on, you contemplate the idea of suicide as a better choice than having to strip in front of her.
"Are you gonna get in, or are you just gonna gawk at me from there?" You were grateful for the dark being able to hide your flushed face from her, but deep down, you knew that she probably saw it anyways because of the shining bright moonlight.
"I can't swim." You told her.
"That's fine, the water's not very deep." You ransacked your brain for reasons to decline her offer, but at the same time, a small part of you yearned to take this risk that you've been so afraid of for gods knows whatever reason.
Clarisse is there, in the water and under the moonlight. You are only a few steps away from her. And like she said, the water isn't deep, only waist length. She stares back at you with a raised brow like she's challenging you to join her.
"Turn around first." You tell her. She smirked slightly before slowly spinning to the opposite direction. "You know I've seen you naked before right?"
"What?" You choked out, aghast. "Who do you think changed your clothes for you when you first got to camp." Oh, that.
Your shoulder relaxes as you realize she's talking about the first time you met. "That's was a long time ago." You noted. She hummed im agreement. "Yeah, we've both grown since."
You told her she could turn around once you're inside the water. Forgetting about the heighy difference between you two, the water was high enough to reach your chest, trying your best not to trip underwater the way you always do on dry ground, your hand instinctively reached outnfor her shoulder.
Clarisse held your forearm tightly and drew your closer to her until you're inches away from eachother.
You breathed in sharply and felt the need to fill in the awkward silence. "So, you...like swimming, huh?"
"Yes, evidently so." She answered. "Right right, can't sit still and all that." She actually chuckled at your sarcasm, making you proud of yourself.
"You know, even before I came to camp Half Blood, I use to be a pretty active person, running track, volleyball, sometimes swimming." Your eyes widened in curiosity. "Really?" She nodded.
"The counselor told my mom that I just had so many untapped energy, which I guess is a code for anger issues." Her grip on your forearm moves higher until her palm is over your shoulder. "She told her that it'd be best for me to find a...healthy way, to channel that energy, and for my strong competitiveness. So I joined what I could, and that's how I spent most of my free time there. Besides, I never was that good academically. So, I ought to at least be good at something, right?"
"You are good." You blurted out. Your embarrassment faded away when you saw her smile. "You think so?"
"Yeah." You assured her. Her other hand had snaked around your waist without you noticing. Only when you moved slightly do you notice her holding you softly.
"The moon is really nice tonight, isn't it?" You said, trying to diffuse the tension. You pointed your finger up to the sky at the singular white orb.
She glanced up and let out a 'huh.'
"I like it when it's bright and whole like this, the moon in all of its glory. You don't even notice the starts around it when it's glowing like that." You could stare at the moom forever, even longer than the way you've been staring at the sun.
You believed in it the way children do with their birthday candle. To you, the moon has always been a symbol of hope or comfort for your future. Your fascination for it existed from when you were a child, the way it'd follow you from behind as you gazed upon it from the back of the car seat whilst your parent drove down the road.
The way it moved above you as you walked home from school, like one of the gods themselves watching over you.
"Nothing compares to the moon." You announced aloud, watching as the clouds around it began to gather over it. "Yeah, It's beautiful." You hear Clarisse speak.
As your head snapped back to her, you found that she had already been facing you.
"I like the moon...but not as much as I like you." She whispered loud enough for your ears only. Her face leans closer to yours, your noses brushing together. "Not as much as I like to hear your voice, when you tell me about your little harpy facts-"
"Oh, I haven't told you about the harpies yet." You cut her off. "I just finished that chapter this morning actually and-"
"-and, you can tell me about it after I'm done talking." You blushed and became silent, letting her speak.
Clarisse exhaled breathily, fanning your face with the subtle warm air. "I like doing things that friends do with you, but I don't want to be your friend anymore."
"Oh."
"I want to be more than friends." She elaborated.
"Oh." Oh.
You feel a sudden tightness in your chest, from anxiety or from butterflies is undecided. "You want to be best friends?" You joked, laughing nervously.
Clarisse snorted at your joke, but she was still grinning widely. "Best friends, If that's what you want to call it."
There was a moment of understanding shared between a second of shared gazes before her lips attached themselves to yours. An urgency, approval, meaning that can't be described by words.
Whatever gentleness there was inside of her before had vanished. Clarisse kissed you like a starved woman. Her lips craved yours like it'd be the last time she'll ever know how you taste like.
Your hands clasped on her shoulder and neck for support as she embraced you tighter to her body. You let her tongue slip into your mouth, meeting your own.
And as they danced together, inhaling all there is in your lips, every secret and every confession that have died on the tip ofnyour tongues, you are sure that no heaven nor hell could tear you open to see you back together like this.
You push her back abruptly, letting fresh air fill your empty lungs. "What's wrong?" Clarisse inquired worriedly.
"Last week." You sighed out, chest still heaving as your thoughts clicked together. "You thought I had asked you on a date, that's why you were disappointed."
She winced at the reminder, and for the first time in your life, you had been lucky enough to witness a flustered Clarisse.
"I'm right." Her silence confirmed. "Oh Clarisse, why didn't you just ask me?"
Huffing loudly, she rolls her eyes in irritation. "I thought I was obvious enough. "
Thinking back on it all, it did seem pretty obvious, but gods were you oblivious. The way you intepreted it all so wrongly.
"I've liked you for so long too." You admitted to her. Her scowl was gone at that, replaced by a teasing smile. "And what are you gonna do about it?" Her mouth returned to yours, letting go of all your fears and holding on to Clarisse like she's your anchor, you close the gap between your lips, welcoming the kind of pleasure that you've never tasted before.

Hey, congrats on your achievement, glad to get in the celebration 🤍
"No one has ever loved me too"
Thank you 🤍
~800 words
You like Jason Todd a lot. Like a lot, a lot. The word love sits at the tip of your tongue, waiting for the right moment to be heard. You’re trying to work up the courage to say it, trying to find a moment that’s as all-encompassing as he is.
This moment isn’t big. But it feels perfect anyway. Jason's head is on your lap, and he’s reading his book of the week while your fingers card lazily through his hair. Rain patters on the window of your apartment, your hot drink sits steaming on the coffee table, and you’ve never been more in love with him than right now.
Jason Todd. Your best friend. The boy you grew up with. The man that’s permanently engraved in every part of your soul. The person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
You will yourself to open your mouth, to finally confess how much he really means to you, when he starts to talk first, “We’ve been together for a while.”
You blink, fingers stilling in his hair for a moment. You’re not completely sure where he’s going with this, so all you offer is a hum of acknowledgment before you go back to playing with his hair.
“Do you ever regret it,” he asks softly, lowering his book to his stomach as he looks up at you.
You quirk your eyebrow at him and give his hair a gentle tug, “No. Never. Do you?”
“No,” he echoes, a smile spreading across his face, “Never.”
“Why do you ask,” you question, idly twisting the strands of his hair between your fingers.
He shrugs a little, as much as he can without jostling his spot on your lap, “Just in my book, there’s this character,” his voice trails off, “They don’t actually like who they’re with.”
You tut, peeking over at the cover of his book, “Then they should talk to their partner. Or save them both the trouble and break up.”
“You would think,” he mumbles, eyes falling shut at the feeling of your hand in his hair, “But there wouldn’t be much of a plot if they did.”
“Guess not,” You agree idly, making a note to read the book yourself when he’s done. You both fall quiet, enjoying the peace and the sound of rain and the presence of each other.
Your gaze falls back to his face, he looks peaceful, content to be resting against you. It makes your heart swell, and your throat tighten.
You know there would be better times to say it, much better times, in fact. But he’s so pretty, so warm and so good, and all you want to do is tell how he makes your life feel brighter and special and worth it.
And suddenly, it feels so easy to say the words, and you wonder why you ever struggled with them before, “I’m in love with you.”
His eyes snap open, gaze immediately locking on yours. You smile down at him, fond and happy. You don’t need him to say it back, the awe on his face is enough, every kiss and touch and sweet word has always been enough.
He blinks at you, and carefully reaches up to brush his knuckles over your cheek, reverent and slow, almost like he’s checking if you’re real. “No one’s ever loved me too,” he breathes out, surprise lacing his tone and features.
The devotion on his face almost makes you giggle, and your smile grows as you lean into his touch, “Too?”
It’s only then he realizes he hasn’t quite said it back yet. “I love you,” he says, like it’s an unchangeable truth as he pushes himself to kiss you. It's chaste and sweet and cut short all too soon by the awkward angle.
You do laugh this time, when he eagerly sits up, and pulls you to straddle his legs. “I’m in love with you,” he tells you, and he presses a long, but no less sweet kiss to your mouth. It leaves you both gasping for air, when you eventually pull away.
“I love you,” you say, just to feel the words between your teeth, to revel in the way he melts against you at the sound of them. He laughs with you, eyes sparkling when he litters your face with kisses.
He cups your face with both hands and when he tells you he loves you again, and the hardest decision you have to make is kissing him or repeating the words until both of your voices are raw with laughter and adoration.
(You’re quick to attempt both, doting words whispered against skin and murmured between gasping breaths until the rain has long since stopped and his voice repeats like a record in your mind)

A Message From the That’s Believable Guy
Hey, it’s me! The THAT’S BELIEVABLE guy! The one who writes all this stuff. I’ve been doing it now for about 8 years, give or take. Posting 7 times a day, every day. I’m grateful to everyone who takes a few seconds out of their day to read the nonsense I write. Thank you.
THAT’S BELIEVABLE is, was, and will remain free. So, in order to pay bills and buy clothes and food for my kids, I write other stuff for money. Most of those projects are work-for-hire, meaning, I don’t own the characters. I love working on these projects, because it’s fun to write stories with Spider-Man, Lilo and Stitch, you name it.
Then there are other things I write that aren’t work-for-hire — projects that I own (or share the copyright with an artist). One such project is THE MONSTROUS ADVENTURES OF MUMMY MAN AND WAFFLES. It’s a spooky humor middle-grade book I wrote, and that artist Robb Mommaerts illustrated. This is a story that has been zipping around my brain for nearly a decade, based on my childhood (and well, let’s face it, adult) love of classic horror movies.
MUMMY MAN means the world to me, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that HarperCollins actually published the book! And guess what? There’s a Book 2 coming next year!
But I want to create even more MUMMY MAN adventures. In order to do that, I need people to read Book 1 — The Monstrous Adventures of Mummy Man and Waffles. You can get your own copy at the links below (including autographed copies from Books of Wonder). You can also ask your local library to order a copy for you to read! Believe me, I know it’s not always in our budget to buy books. I’m often in the same boat. That’s why libraries are so important. Publishers count library sales, too! If MUMMY MAN does well in libraries, that can help move the needle! (Plus, librarians are cool.)
If you’ve made it this far, thank you very much for reading this. For reading That’s Believable. And hopefully, for being interested enough to get a copy of MUMMY MAN from a bookseller or your library.
Oh, and guess what? You can read a few chapters of MUMMY MAN for FREE, HERE!!
We now return you to our usual nonsense.
Get MUMMY MAN HERE!
Get an AUTOGRAPHED COPY HERE!

Channelled message: Things they wish to tell you (lover/partner/future spouse)
This reading is about things that the person you have in mind wishes to tell you but find it hard to do so. I don't know why, but the tone of this reading sounded so angsty. I had to fought back the urge to comment on every sentence as I was typing.
This is a general reading meant for multiple people. Take only what resonates and leave out the rest.
Your feedback is much appreciated. If you find the reading resonated with you, leave a comment, I’d love to know 🎐
About me | Masterpost Book a reading with me - KO-FI (Read this post : personal reading)
1. Amethyst
I feel like a kid whenever I'm near you. It's hard to hide, I feel so vulnerable. You stripped me of my armour. You made me afraid but I liked it. I want to tell you that you can strip whatever is left of me, and I will be willing to stand there and let you do it.
But before that, you have to catch me. I like the game of hide and seek, running and chasing. Every time I had to chase you, every time you had to chase me, it gave me the satisfaction that I'm not proud to tell you. Don't give me that look, you and I both know that whatever game we are playing, in the end, the loser gets to win, the winner gets to lose. You know you can catch me, because I let you.
I love whispering things into those pretty ears of yours. Feel them so close that my lips can almost touch your skin. Sometimes you will laugh, sometimes you will stay silent, your skin getting more red, sometimes you will turn around and let your lips touch mine. Your reactions are my goal and I'm an over-achiever.
Teetering between pure love and pure lust, what to choose? Sometimes we are so close to being enemies to each other, then we fall over into lovers. I don't know how we do it but I like to keep it a little ambiguous. The suspension, the uncertainty, those uncomfortable feelings make me feel alive.
Not to mention that people are so confused about us. I bet they can sense something between us, those flustered looks, those closer than necessary touches, those innocent exchanges. They can guess but they will never know the depth of our connection.
I actually love the feeling of sitting on the couch, waiting for you to come home to me. Once we've built our nest, I don't want to leave it. I don't want you to leave either. But I know your free spirit well enough not to tell you my wish. But you can't blame me if sometimes I use some "tactics" to entice you to stay with me. Hey, I can hear your snicker. You think someone like me saying this kind of thing is probably lying. Well, I do lie, but about the opposite thing, I lie to the world that I'm not a home-body, that my life is a constant motion, moving here and there, that I'm someone who always takes charge. My lies will be so convincing that they can even fool you. Yes, I know I like to change things, but look closer, you will find something that stays the same no matter what. I hope you won't give up finding it because I won't make it easy for you to find it. But I know you like a good challenge.
2. Rose quartz
I have so many things I wanted to tell you, but the moment those words arrived at the tip of my tongue, they took a U turn and went back. I don't know why I like to betray myself like that.
I would tell you how this ice cream tastes good, but all I could think about is your taste. I would tell you I like the feeling of warmth when sitting near the fire, but all I could feel is your heat. Same old stuff, same old stories, same old jokes, repeated again and again. What am I trying to hide? Why can't I just say what I want? What am I so afraid of?
I feel like a yellow rubber duck, floating forever on the surface, can't never get deep enough. Well, at least I get to be with you in the bathtub, not complaining. Here I go again, using light words to camouflage my feelings and desire for you. I don't want to be a tease, I want to be an arrow, striking its target at lightning speed.
Use your finger and sink this duck down into the water, and keep it that way. Hold me down, keep me still, until I'm drown in you.
Giving and taking, holding and embracing, I want it all, I don't want a single experience to slip through my fingers, I want to salvage everything, to savour slowly then to devour swiftly.
I want you to be the cold, harsh truth to my soft lies. The punishing force to my innocent crimes. But I also want you to be the embrace that I can fall into, the laughter I long to hear in my darkening days. Greedy, I know. And you can be greedy with me too. You ask and I will give.
Will you say no to my dreams, saying they're just pipe dreams, forever should be in the land of the unreal. Or will you say yes and applaud them? I know I can make them real, I know I can turn my thoughts into things that others can see and feel. I have faith. I just want you to have that same faith with me. Wouldn't it be nicer to have two who dream the same dreams? And nicer still when those two can create something together. I suggest a family, kids, pets, just a few examples.
I wish to take you everywhere, to meet everyone I know and everyone I haven't known. The feeling of a community, of connections always warm my heart. I hope you understand that. But it's okay if you don't, because there are probably lots of things I don't understand about you either. And let's keep it that way.
3. Tiger's eye
I have so many plans for our future. Since the first time when I met you, probably in some corners of my mind, I've been drawing up our plan together, our imaginary home, our imaginary kids, even our imaginary pets.
Talk to me, tell me your own delusions, give me more fuel, rile up my imagination. Delusions create the world. Or so they say, or so I say. Doesn't matter. Because I'm actually nurturing these delusions of mine into reality. Just so you wait and don't act surprised when they do come true. I have the divine on my side. You can't beat it, I can't beat it. And believe me, I've tried.
I've tried to go against the nudges, the little push behind my back so many times. It usually didn't end well. I still found myself in the exact place that I needed to be, whether I wanted to or not.
Please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying this to tell you that being with you is against my will or I want to fight back our connection. I just want to explain the way I do things in general. I do bizarre things, say bizarre things sometimes, a lot of times, actually. You would think these are all jokes. They are. When you're viewed as a weirdo, it actually gives you lots of freedom to do things your way without people exclaiming disappointment or shock. What's there to be shocked and disappointed if they already viewed you as someone capable of everything, even unhinged things. This is the way I deal with the world. Quickly, so they will be out of my sight and let me focus on other important things.
For example, you, the sight of you, up close, inching ever closer, faraway, walking away but never be out of my sight. Curate an art exhibition for me. With pieces of art showing your myriad expression and sounds. Showing you in different clothes or without. I'd love to just stand there to watch and listen. Then, when I'm brave enough, I will be an art thief.
4. Carnelian
Let me tell you upfront, I'm not the kind to forgive easily. And I know with each pain I'm getting, I'm also dissing out more pain towards others and myself.
I get easily obsessed about everything, good or bad, mostly bad things. They've burnt a piece of me. I've been betrayed in the past. So many betrayals that made me angry towards the world, towards myself. I just wanted to go away. No, not to hide, but to gather my strength again and come back and confront. I used to be the one that is caught in other's claws, now I know how to catch them in my claws.
But this kind of behaviour ruined my soul. I want to sweep away all these pains and anger, to lighten my existence. It's almost a wish that I've been keeping to myself for all this time. And now you know about it too. And I'm glad that you can help me make it come true. Pull me out of this destructive cycle. Help me breathe and look for the light.
I say hurtful things sometimes, you probably will fall victim to that some day and I want to ask for your forgiveness beforehand. I let my pride get in my way a lot of times. To prove my point, to prove my worth, to prove that I'm strong, that you can't hurt me. But you can, you just choose not to. I know I'm at your mercy. This makes me uncomfortable, but it's actually not so bad. I'm getting used to it. Thanks to your humour and gentle touches. For every hurtful word of mine, you replaced it with your kiss. If I ask you to cry for my pain, will you do it, in my stead?
You sure know how to tame me, or just anyone ever met you feel the same way? Stop, I won't let myself go into that direction of thinking. Let's just focus on us. Teach me how to dismantle someone's defence like you did to me, step by step. Just so I can understand what's being done to me. I want to know everything, grab everything in my hands to understand it.
Don't worry, I won't do it to you, because you will come to me defenceless. Is that how you will win? Will I take all I can and leave you with nothing, or will I give you all and be a part of it? You decide.
Note: I usually pull one oracle card to read their energy better. With this group, three cards wanted to come out. I looked at the cards, the fish, the bear and the scorpion, then tried to put them back because that's too many. Right at the moment I put them back into the deck, I felt a sharp pain in my rib-cage for a split second, so I decided to put the three cards down and read them for this group. And guess what, a part of the stone layout does resemble the scorpion's tail.
5. Aventurine
I'm putting my best behaviour for the world to see, for you to see too. In this world of everyone fighting to get to the top, I just want to honour a softer energy. To nurture and harmonise everything, everyone. But I pursue that desire with the mentality of a soldier, a worker, diligently getting closer to my goal every day. I don't know how to do this, to be honest, I'm properly doing it wrong. Shall I just agree with everything to keep the peace, or shall I fight back?. Is it possible to honour something that I don't understand?
I have a dilemma of being a little people-pleasing. I like to hide and push my individuality to the back. Let my own compass take a back seat while letting others dictate what's good for me. I can't deny that a part of me wish for this. To let others lead me and I will do what was told. And I just want to trust you with that responsibility, putting myself into your hands.
The only thing I want to control is how I do things, those small details to get the job done. I guess I'm just overwhelmed by the large responsibility of life that I fuss about the details. When can I stop putting my mental energy into banal things and think about the bigger picture? Will I ever meet my calling, my destination?
But good news, I'm learning. Those days that I hid in my house, alone, probably did me some good. I'm learning to be with myself. So that I can be with others. You will get an early access, of course, with special service.
I'm glad that I can feel safe with you, enough to whisper in low voice about my spiritual belief. It's always there, with me, protecting me. The last thing I want is to be called strange. Especially from you, and lucky for me, you won't. You will never do that to me, that's your kindness. To other people, they can see me getting upset at our carpet being spoiled by coffee. They probably will think that I was upset because of the cost of getting it cleaned, the ruined aesthetic. But to you, you will understand the reason immediately. You will know that I believe a spirit lives in that carpet and spilling the coffee will hurt them. Keep it a secret for me, okay? Pinky promise.
6. Prehnite
The first time that we met wasn't the first time I saw you. I had seen you ways before that. I just needed time to build my strategy, to infiltrate into your life as smoothly as possible.
I was patient, time was on my side. There is no need to rush. You had your guard up and I didn't want to scare you away. Heck, I sound like a predator, circling its prey. Or maybe I was? You tell me.
But I do know that you didn't make it easy for me to approach you. I have to confess, I almost gave up. I have a habit of letting go too early. A sign of things derailing, then I will be up and going. I couldn't be bogged down by anything, or so I thought. Love was never the end goal for me. It was just a side effect. Even lust had not much meaning to me. I just sped up ahead, leaving them behind. I was pursuing total freedom. I viewed everything as an object to be studied, to extract information from, to help build my personal library. I basically lived in my head.
What's mysterious force that kept my patient in pursuing you, I don't know. Maybe you are the biggest mystery that I've yet to solve. And that thought was the beginning of my demise. At least, my old self's demise. I'm enjoying myself right now, with you.
But you also didn't make it easier when we're together. What are you? Divine punishment? It's not like I have the option to pack by bags and go back to my old way again. I've already burned the bridge leading to it. No coming back now.
You push me to the edge, and I will pull your hand with me. Let's fall together then soaring up again. When our wings are tired and broken, plunge me back to the depth, and I will show you how enticing it is to be with me down below. You're afraid, but you're also brave. I won't do something that I know you can't do or don't want to do. That's our unspoken oath.

“hey babe.” you smiled, looking up at him when you approached him. he was standing by his locker, putting books inside. you were with him for already few months now. his heart skipped a beat as he looked down at you, his eyes scanning your face with a smile.
“hey.” he mumbled, his cheeks slightly flushing at nickname.
“so, i was thinking we could go to your house after school.” you said, wrapping your arms around his middle. your chin rested on his chest when you were looking up at him. his arms wrapped around you possessively, his mind wandering to what you’re implying. he really adored how bold and confident you are, comparing to his shy side while in school.
“sure.” he whispered, his voice low.
“oh, my favourite couple.” Velma, schools ‘star’ said sarcastically when she approached you two. she was as always with couple of her friends, who were laughing at her remark. “you guys think she took his virginity already, or he’s still cumming in his pants from kissing only?” she asked her friends. his face turned red, embarrassed by Velma’s loud and rude comment. he buried his face in your hair slightly, trying to ignore the whole situation. you could feel his body tensing up, his insecurities bubbling to the surface.
“having fun alone with your dildo in your house, bitch?” you asked her, eying her posture up and down. her face turned red with anger, her friends laughter egging her on.
“at least i’m not dating a virgin, who can’t even please his girlfriend.” she retorts snidely. you only scoffed at her, crossing your arms over your chest.
“if you just had any idea what are you actually talking about.” you shook your head, looking at her.
“so you’re telling me that he actually know where your hole is? don’t be ridiculous.” she scoffed, making her friends laugh again.
“are you jealous or what?” you asked her, feeling his hand squeezing your hip slightly.
“of what? of a virgin who’s probably reading you some history shit as a lullaby? i’d fucking die from boredom with this piece of shit.” she pouted sarcastically. his heart raced as he listened to this back and forth. he knew you’re just protecting him, but a part of him wished you wouldn’t. he didn’t wanted you to have to defend him all the time. he took a deep breath and stepped forward.
“just fuck off Velma.” he said, his voice steady, but low.
“oh, shy puppy is speaking for himself now?” she looked at him with wide eyes. he glared at her, his eyes filled with a rare flash of anger.
“you think you know everything, don’t you?” he snapped, his voice surprisingly louder. “you know what’s happening behind closed doors?”
“i mean-“ she stuttered, a little taken aback by his sudden confidence.
“maybe if you weren’t so busy spreading rumours and judging everyone, you’d actually have a boyfriend who could fuck you properly.” he said, grabbing your hand and going away from them, leaving them speechless.
“that was hot.” you squeezed his hand slightly. a small smirk played across his lips as he glanced at you, his usual shy demeanor nowhere to be found now, since you two were only ones in the hallway.
“yeah? you like that side of me, hm?” he asked in a low, intimate tone, pulling you closer as you walked.
“well, as far you showed me it only when we are alone.” you smiled. “but seeing you snapping at her like that…” you smirked. he bit his lip, feeling a thrill at your words. he knew he had a different side of him, the one he only showed to you.
“i guess i finally had enough.” he let out a small laugh, squeezing your hand.
“so how about we skip last class and we go to your house now?” you smiled innocently, looking up at him. his expression softened as he looked at you, your innocent smile melting his resolve.
“let’s do it.” he whispered, his mind already wandering to the two of you alone in his house. he quickly texted his best friend, asking him to cover for them. you two went to the school parking lot to his car. he opened passenger seat door for you, watching you getting inside. he closed the door behind you and walked around to the drivers side. when he sat down, he started his car and pulled out of the parking lot, heading towards his house. “so, what do you want to do when we get there?”
“mhm, i think you know.” you smiled, your fingers playing with the rings on his fingers, since his one hand was resting on your thigh. his hand on your leg tightened possessively. he knew exactly what you were implying. he sped up slightly, anxious to get to his house. few minutes later you parked outside his house. he got out of the car, and came to your side, pulling you out of it and kissing you quickly, before going towards the house. as soon as the doors closed behind you both, he turned to face you. he dropped his bag on the floor and pulled you into his arms. “my mum is out.” he whispered.
“i’m aware.” you smiled, your hands gripping the hem of his t-shirt. he chuckled softly when you started removing it. he picked you up after that, carrying you towards the stairs. your hands were wandering on his bare back, your lips kissing his neck. his breath stuck in his throat as your lips met his neck, the feeling of your fingers tracing patterns on his back sending electric shocks through his body. once in the bedroom, he dropped you on the bed. his eyes were dark as he hovered over you. he leaned down, capturing your lips in rough kiss, his hand coming up to grip your throat lightly. he broke the kiss to take your top off, revealing your bare breasts underneath.
“you’re so perfect, so fucking sexy.” he murmured, his lips sucking on your nipple, causing your moan. he sucked hard, his hand squeezing your other breast roughly. he released your nipple with a wet pop and moved to the other one, sucking it into his mouth just as roughly. he bit down gently, making you gasp and arch your back. “i fucking love your tits.” he shifted down your body, trailing kisses across your stomach, until he reached your pants. he quickly removed them, kissing your inner thighs. you moaned when his lips made contact with your covered pussy, his tongue pushing against your clit through your panties. he pulled them down and pushed his tongue inside you, fucking you with it.
“fuck.” you breathed out. he chuckled against your pussy, the vibrations making you squirm beneath him. he sucked your clit into his mouth, flicking it with his tongue as one of his fingers entered you.
“so wet for me already… you like that, don’t you?” you only nodded breathlessly. he smirked against your clit, flicking it faster with his tongue while adding another finger. “words, love. tell me how much you fucking like it.” his fingers curled inside you, hitting that perfect spot. “tell me.” his voice demanding, husky with desire.
“i fucking love that.” you moaned, your hand going into his hair. his fingers hitting that spot over and over at your words, causing your gasp.
“that’s my girl, such a dirty mouth when you’re turned on.” he increased his pace, his tongue moving faster against your clit, until you’re writhing beneath him.
“oh god, yes, right there Harry.” you gasped, your back arching. hearing his name on your lips like that made him throb inside his jeans.
“come for me, baby. let me taste you.” and you did, of course, with loud cry and your walls clenching around his fingers. he continued to slowly lick your sensitive clit as you came down from your orgasm, removing his fingers and sucking them clean while maintaining eye contact. “you taste fucking amazing.” he growled, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand as he crawled back up your body. your hands quickly unbuckled his jeans. he quickly get rid of it and his boxers, revealing his toned stomach and the v-lines that lead down to his erection, standing at attention. he ran his hands up your thighs. “gonna fuck you so good.”
“i know that much.” you smirked, still slightly breathless from previous orgasm. he grinned, pushing your legs apart and settling between them.
“such a smartass, i love it.” he lined himself up at your entrance, teasing you with just the tip. “though maybe i should teach you who’s really in control here.”
“is that so?” you asked, feeling his one hand gripping both of your wrists above your head, his free hand roaming over your body possessively.
“mhm. now spread your legs wider and keep them there until i say otherwise.” he slowly thrusted into you, just the tip.
“Harry, more, please.” you gasped, already clenching around his head to pull him further somehow. he teased you further, moving just an inch deeper.
“such a greedy girl… aren’t you supposed to be obeying me?” he leaned down, whispering in your ear. “ask nicely…” he moved another inch deeper, then pulled almost all the way out. “beg for it.”
“please baby, i need you.” you whined.
“not quite yet.” he chuckled at your whining, loving how you were just under his spell. he thrusted back in, pulling back before you could wrap your legs around him. “say the magic words…”
“daddy please.” you licked your lips slightly. his eyes darkened at the word, thrusting all the way in, not stopping until he’s buried to the hilt.
“fuck, you say that so fucking cute…” he started pounding into you hard and fast, his hand pinning down your hands all this time.
“yes!” you moaned, your head snapping back from pleasure. his pace became relentless, hitting deep inside you with every thrust.
“you like when i fuck you hard like this? taking control of this pretty little pussy?” his hand moved from your waist to squeeze your breast roughly. “look at this perfect tits bouncing.” he spanked it hard.
“i love when you’re in control baby, it’s so fucking sexy.” you gasped. he groaned at your words, his thrusts becoming even more powerful.
“you’re so fucking perfect… i love seeing you like this, all spread out and at my mercy.” he leaned down to suck a bruise on your neck, marking you. “my good fucking girl. only mine.”
“only yours.” you moaned. his jealousy spiked at your words, making him pound into you harder.
“damn right you are. only ever known my touch, my lips, my cock inside this sweet pussy.” his fingers tightened slightly around your wrists. “tell me who fucks you better than anyone else?”
“you.” you breathed out. “only you.” he smirked proudly at your answer, his pace slowing down slightly as he grinds against your clit with each thrust.
“that’s right, baby. i’m the only man who can make you feel this good.” he leaned in to capture your lips in a heated kiss, swallowing your moans. you kissed him back immediately, feeling his hand releasing your wrists. his kiss became possessive as his hand wrapped around your throat instead. his thumb tilting your chin up to deepen the kiss. “mine.” he growled against your lips, his other hand sneaking down to hook your leg over his arm, opening you up even wider to him.
“yes! fuck, daddy, yes!” you moaned. “just like that!” he broke the kiss to look at you, his eyes burning with desire as he watched you react to his touch.
“you look so pretty with my hand around your throat. so fucking mine.” he started thrusting fast again, his grip on your throat tightening slightly.
“i’m gonna come.” you gasped. he smiled at your warning, his thrusts becoming even more powerful as he chased your orgasm.
“come on, let me feel that tight cunt clench around my cock.” he squeezed your throat harder, pressing his thumb against your clit and rubbing in fast circles. his movements took you over the edge. your pussy clenching around his dick furiously, when you finished with a loud moan. he groaned loudly at the sensation, his own orgasm ripping through him. he buried his face in your neck, biting down gently as he filled you up with his hot cum. “fuck, baby. you’re so fucking perfect.” he panted. he pulses even more seed inside you, marking you completely. “mine.” he murmured. “all mine.”

cowboy rafe in this 💫
AHHHHHHHH. Ty for this because YEAA
What the hell are you wearing?
Warnings: suggestive , cowboy!rafe wit that southern charm. Pet names (darling)
“Rafe, where are you?” You shouted, opening the back door and going outside. You walked around, until you heard his voice.
“In here, darlin’!” He called out from inside the stables, you crossing your arms as you walked into the stables.
“Hey.” You murmured to him, watching Rafe groom his horses mane and fur carefully.
“Hey. What’s up?” He asked you, taking the brush away from his horse and turning to you now, leaning against one of the doors.
“Are we still going on that date tonight?” You asked him, he wiped his hands onto his jeans, standing straight now
“Course we are. Why wouldn’t we?” He asked you, furrowing his eyebrows while putting his hands on your hips and pulling you flush against him. Your hand landed on his chest, you shrugged.
“Dunno. Seemed like you’re busy. I didn’t wanna interrupt but-“
“I’m never too busy for ya.” He cut you off quietly, leaning down to peck your lips. “I’ll get dressed in a few. Gimme a little to clean up, yeah?” He told you, giving you another kiss.
You nodded at him, leaving the stables and going back into the house and into your shared room, trying to find some clothes other than your pajamas you currently wore.
You decided on a nice white sundress, sitting on your bed with a book while you waited for Rafe to come out the shower.
He came in, towel lowly wrapped around his waist and his hand in his hair, he paused when he saw you, letting out a low whistle, making you look up at him with a giggle and warm cheeks.
“Jesus…” he mumbled, going over to you before you held out a hand, stopping him from coming onto the bed with you.
He feigned hurt, gasping and putting his hand over his heart.
“Baby, can we actually get to the date before that?” You shook your head, smile still on your face.
“Fine. Only cause I know you gotta reservation and all that shit.” He sighed, going over to the closet now, searching for some clothes.
He picked out some jeans that he knew you loved, along with a belt, along with what looked to be like a regular white shirt.
You were so giddy, you hadn’t even realized the wording on the back until you both were at the door.
You had your boots on, Rafe with his. He opened the door for you, and that’s when you quirked an eyebrow.
“What?” He asked you when he saw you stop your movements, trying to look at his back.
“Turn around.” You told him, he just shrugged and did so, small smirk on his face as you read it out loud.
“Got any cowboy in ya? Want some? Jesus- Rafe, what the hell are you wearing?!”
“You like it?” He asked you, turning around to look at you.
“I- I mean… I guess yeah, but- you can’t go out like that!”
“Says who?” He raised an eyebrow. “And before you say it, I ain’t tryna sleep around with anyone else either.” He pointedly spoke, watching your face.
You groaned at him. “You’re so embarrassing sometimes.” You told him, rolling your eyes at the boy, pushing past him and stepping outside.
“You gettin’ flustered over a damn shirt? Cause I mean… we can stay here ‘nd…” he was at your side quickly, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you right into his side.
“Don’t even think ‘bout it, cowboy.” You told him, grabbing his hat and putting it on backwards, right over his eyes.
“Damnit. Here I was thinkin’ I was getting lucky tonight.” He said, shaking his head and twisting the hat back around, opening the passenger door to his truck, and helping you into the seat.
“Who said you weren’t?” You shrugged, smiling at him as he got into the drivers seat and started the truck.
“Woman, I love you.” He said, smiling and leaning over to kiss you again.

ᯓ★٠ ࣪⭑ 'BEST FRIEND.' ✧ KENJI S.
✰ — you and kenji being besties ( depends on how u guys see it ), reader is female based, pet names.
✰ — my first time trying to write for him bc omg the brainrot over this guy is too real,, 😭💜 also kinda bad i deeply apologize aa;;
— ✩ m. list.
. dividers by @/saradika-graphics !! ⚾
BEING best friends with KENJI SATO for years ever since your high school days, the two of you surely have your own differences in a way, especially in terms of personality. You didn't even know on how you managed to be friends with him still, but you're always grateful for it, nonetheless.
For all the years, you remained by his side; even supporting him in anything he decided to do, and as the star player for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Major League Baseball team. He won quite innumerable number of awards, thanks to his amazing performance on field, and has gained lots of fans all around the world, notably for some of the ladies who swooned over his mere appearance.
You're well-aware of his current popularity and position, but still— you tried your best to be supportive all the time, even when sometimes your thoughts are trying to drag you back negatively about yourself.
As sweet as you can be, you can still be quite of a reclused person than he is; as he ever told you before.
Kenji is always known to be quite the opposite from you— all confident and sociable to others in the public eye, often recognized to be quite the charmer as well. His overall presence has a major undeniable effect to most others without fail.
Yet, despite of all the fame he has, there surely are certain times where he actually felt lonely, even when surrounded by millions of people who actually adored him.
But knowing about your mere existence staying by his side despite everything; it makes him feel cherished and appreciated. Kenji is glad to have you, no matter on what he's doing and wherever he is at that moment.
WITH the random novel in your hands, you have decided to read for a bit while waiting for him to finish up at your usual secluded spot— not too far from where he currently is, and pretty much a spot where only the two of you knew.
A few minutes have passed by, he finally arrives at the said area and seemingly searching for any signs of you, to which you didn't even notice since you're too engrossed with the book at the moment. Being hounded by countless of paparazzi and fans surely can be so overwhelming— he's just glad to be able to make it out from there.
In spite of his somewhat exhausted appearance, a small smile manages to make its' way to his lips once his eyes landed upon your seated figure nearby.
"Finally," he reaches towards closer as to where you are, immediately getting your attention up from the book you've been reading. "I found you."
"Hey too, star boy."
You eventually closed the book and put it aside, allowing him to sit on the vacant spot properly next to you with a grin on your face. "Yeah, you found me."
Kenji may not admit it every so often, but he honestly could never get enough with the way you called him— chuckling while doing some little stretches here and there before sitting next to you.
"Oh man, it's so tiring to deal with those interviewers and people around almost all the time, y'know." He mutters with a weary-sounding sigh, resting the back of his head against the wall behind him.
"I mean, obviously it makes me happy to know that there's quite a lot of people who supported me and stuff, but they can be a real pain in the ass to deal with." He shakes his head slightly over his own words that held the mere truth, which made you feel genuinely bad for him.
"I get you," you responded, leaning your head against the wall as well. "It sounds super exhausting to handle."
"It sure is."
"I guess that's just the way it is, if anything." He then rests his chin on the palm of his hand, which situated just right atop of his left knee while he stares off at the distance.
The feeling of people swooning and admiring him sure sounds so nice, but it doesn't really get rid of the feeling of loneliness that he has to experience at times.
"They just adored the persona I've shown to the world, not the real me."
You somehow get what he's implying, even when he seemed as if he wanted to sound at least a bit jokey, to which didn't really work on you. You could see right through him.
"Well, if it helps.." Unsure on what to say, but this needed to be done because clearly, he looks like he needs one.
"You have me." You genuinely reassured him, "I just hope that you won't ever forget that."
Your words alone have an instant effect on him— managing to draw out an appreciative smile upon his features instead of his usual cocky look that he presented to others.
"Of course I won't. I'll hold onto your words."
He could tell the truthfulness behind every word you've said to him; suddenly shifting his gaze around to face you, before pulling you into a warm hug— keeping his arms wrapped around your torso and burying his face into the crook of your neck unexpectedly, much to your own surprise.
It's one of the usual gestures that you would do with each other, so you don't know as to why this time, it feels a little different somehow, but you didn't push him away at all.
Instead, you returned the embrace while stroking the back of his hair tenderly, accompanied with a quiet hum. Your actions alone have prompted him to smile against your neck further— finding it all soothing and relaxing, nuzzling into your warmth.
"You give the best hugs, I swear." Kenji audibly murmurs, which made the specific area on your neck to feel more ticklish than usual.
"Oh really?" A giggle escaped from you due to the ticklish sensation, which causes him to merely smirk in pure delight. "I feel honored."
Kenji begin to point out, lifting his head slightly and not entirely just yet. "I almost forgot that you're quite ticklish here."
"Shut up, you tease." You huffed with a playful eyeroll, shoving him off backwards from you a bit. "You know damn well I do."
It's easier to act all carefree when no one else is around you both to interrupt any moment you're having.
He simply laughs it off, still remaining on his seated spot despite your attempts of pushing him away from you. "Your reactions are priceless."
The baseball star player swiftly returns into doing on what he previously did— embracing you even more, holding you so delicately within his strong arms alone.
Kenji doesn't even know on what's driving him to do any of this for much longer than intended. His thoughts are going a bit haywire, yet it made him feel comfortable in a way as well. Confused, but unbothered to figure it out himself for now.
You didn't really mind though. It felt too nice, in all honesty; simply reciprocating his actions without any signs of hesitation.
"You did amazing, by the way."
When the moment those words left from your lips, it managed to pull him out of his own reverie; pulling away slightly just so he can face you with an evident grin upon his sharp features.
"Thanks, sweetheart."
"I was thinking of doing a mini celebration tonight."
"Oh?" You returned the expression that he's currently giving you. "Am I invited, then?"
He nodded almost instantly with a warm chuckle out of him, ruffling your hair despite your possible incoming protests.
"Of course you're invited, silly girl. Always will."
"You'd make everything more fun, and you're the only one who knows how to keep this bad boy in check, after all."
You merely and purposedly snorted out loud upon his words— rolling your eyes comically before pinching his cheeks all of a sudden, which caught him off guard.
"Not so bad when I do it to you like this."
"Okay— hey hey, stop that-!" He begins to sputter out complaints due to your actions, pouting as you didn't even try to stop from doing so. His hands are not helping anything either, which makes the situation more funnier than intended.
Despite everything he did, Kenji almost looked like a whiny puppy within your perspective.
It doesn't take long before the both of you ended up, quite literally, falling off from your seats though.
"Ouch.."
"It's your fault, geez.."
"Well, I love you too."

What's Eight Plus Seven?
Part One🦇Part Two🦇Part Three🦇Part Four🦇Part Five
Prompt from @devious-kitten
Steve had a mild interest in DnD as a freshmen because of a cousin or something. The interest was killed by Eddie being mean since Steve is a jock. Post vecna Eddie finds dust covered DnD handbook Steve explains and Eddie faces a still hurt Steve as a results of his biases
((Half written fic, half rambling about how it would go down. Apologies for the formatting. Also I added more angst than the prompt called for hehe))
Steve has always loved sports. This is a well-known fact. He's played on some sort of sports team from the time he was old enough for his parents to be able to sign him up.
A lesser-known fact is that Steve loves fantasy. Or, at least, he used to. On the playground in elementary school, Steve could often be found playing knights and dragons, and it was anyone's guess if he would be a knight or a dragon on any particular day.
The summer between middle and high school, Steve spent with his grandparents from his mother's side, on the farm they'd retired on in Michigan. A month long stay that he'd shared with his cousins, Amber, Robert, and Christopher. Amber and Robert are twins, four years younger than Steve, and Christopher was two years older and infinitely cooler than anyone else Steve knew.
Christopher was on the varsity basketball team at his high school when he was just a sophomore, captain of the JV football team, president of the chess club, and in a games club.
Christopher was everything Steve wanted to be now that he was going to be in high school. Minus the chess club because
It was during that summer, Steve got to indulge in playing make believe for another summer with his younger cousins, without the judgement of people (his father and peers) who thought he was too old for such things. He also got to learn about make believe for older kids, because Christopher played a game called Dungeons and Dragons with his game club the last month of school before summer break and spent many evenings going over what had happened with Steve as a captive audience.
"I wish I'd brought the books," Christopher had whispered to him one night from the bed, peaking over to look down at Steve in his sleeping bag on the floor, "we could have played."
Steve wishes he'd brought the books, too.
At the end of July, Christopher, Amber, and Robert's parents show up to pick them up, five days before Steve's scheduled flight to Indianapolis. It's a sad goodbye because one summer a year isn't enough with his cousins but they live in Washington. Steve's always jealous their parents drive all the way to pick them up, but a little proud he gets to brag about how he's flown alone since he was seven. No one else in his class can brag about that.
His mom picks him up in Indianapolis and they go back to school shopping while there.
A week later, Steve receives a package from Christopher. Inside Steve finds Advanced Dungeons and Dragons books, three of them, and even though Christopher said nothing about advanced, he's sure he can manage. On the inside cover of the players handbook, Christopher has written:
Hey Steve, I think you'd rock playing a dwarf paladin. Let's play next summer? Christopher 1981
He spends the last three weeks of summer vacation reading the player handbook cover to cover and making a character. It's slow going, because letters don't stay where they're supposed to be on the page (that's a problem he's had his whole life, so he's not surprised but he is determined), and he's never been good at math, so getting the stats down on paper isn't easy. He can't decide what he wants to play, so he makes two characters; an elf magic-user and, of course, a dwarf paladin.
(He's a little disappointed you can't be a dragon.)
Steve's never been one to dread the first day of school, but he's never actually looked forward to it, either. It's just been another day.
Until today.
Today is his first day as a high schooler. And the only people who go to the first day are Freshman, except the upper classman that have volunteered to man the booths for school activities for the last hour of the day. It's supposed to help the Freshman get the lay of the land without being overwhelming and Steve's excited for it. He needs to see if Hawkins High has a games club like Christopher's school does.
Here Steve is, that last hour of school. He's already been to the basketball booth, promising to sign up as soon as the season started, and the swim booth because he's got a pool at his house and has been swimming for as long as he can remember and knows he enjoys it. He also stops by the football booth even though he's never played, or cared much, for it. (Maybe he's trying to emulate Christopher, sue him.). So, the final thing is to see if Hawkins High offers a chess club and a game club.
Steve is delighted to see that, though there is no games club, there is a Dungeons and Dragons club! That delight wavers because of the kid manning the booth. His hair is curly and falls just below his ears, with big brown eyes. Steve hates to think it, but he'd be cute if he didn't look like he wanted to stab Steve.
"Yeah, no, keep walking," says the boy, pulling the flier with meeting information on it out from under Steve's hand, where he'd been attempting to read it.
Steve looks up, brows furrowed in confusion. "I was reading that."
"And I said no. Jocks don't play Dungeons and Dragons."
"I could," Steve says, offended. He squints at the name tag sticker slapped diagonally across the way too big jean vest this guy's wearing. E-d-d-i-e. Eddie.
"Have you ever played?"
"Well... no, but-"
"No buts. Mitch let a jock join last year and that was a nightmare. He could barely read the rule book. And with how you were squinting down at the flier, and then my name tag, you're not going to be much better."
Jokes on Eddie, Steve's already read the rule book. Even if it was slowly. "I can read just fine."
"Can you math, then? What's eight plus seven?"
"What?"
"Simple addition. Eight plus seven. What is it?"
Steve knows simple addition. This is fine. It doesn't matter than he's been put on the spot, and that math is hard for the same reason as reading. He can do this. His hand twitches with wanting to pull it up and use it to keep track. He's faster at math when he can do that, but this jerk is mean mugging him and he just knows if he moves his hand, this guy will mock him the rest of the school year.
Eight plus seven. Ok. Make it easier, get to ten. It takes adding two to the eight to get ten. Ok. Take that two away from the seven now. That makes... five! Ok. Ten plus five is-
"Dude, it's fifteen," Eddie snaps.
"I knew that!"
Scoff. "Right. How about seventeen plus six."
Steve can feel his face turning red with embarrassment but he's not going to let this jackass be right. Round up. It takes three to get seventeen to twenty, so take three away from the six-
"23. Point proven. Go. Away. Go play your jock games and leave me- us alone."
Steve opens his mouth to argue, or maybe plead, that he can do this, and that, more importantly, he wants to do this, but laughter cuts through the air and for the first time, Steve notices the audience that has gathered. Three people are laughing at him, and his inability to do mental math, and it makes Steve snap his jaw shut and swallow.
"Mental math isn't that hard, Steve," one of them, Brant, says, as he elbows the guy next to him.
"Thank you!" Eddie says, "that's what I'm saying."
"Whatever, man, like I'd want to play make believe at this age anyway," Steve mutters and rushes away.
If, two weeks later, Steve watches Kyle trip who he now knows is Eddie 'The Freak' Munson in the bathroom, and drag him into a stall for a swirly, well, no he didn't. He briefly thinks of saying something to stop Kyle, but shoves the words down and instead turns on heel and leaves that bathroom just as the sound of flushing and Eddie yelling start. The thick bathroom door does a good job of muffling the noise and if Steve feels any guilt about that, he shoves that down, too.
Besides, Kyle's the captain of the basketball team and if Steve wants a chance to be on that team, he can't stay anything. It's a well-known fact that Steve likes sports, after all. He's going to stick to that. Screw Eddie Munson and his Dungeons and Dragons club.
Steve will get to play Dungeons and Dragons with Christopher next summer.
Except, halfway through the school year, Steve and his parents quickly board a plane bound for Washington. Turns out being as perfect as Christopher was is hard. Overwhelming.
They arrive the day before the funeral, and fly out right after it. Steve barely has time to mourn before they're shuffling him back to school that Monday.
Christopher died, and with him, so does Steve's desire to be just like him. He quits the football team. He keeps basketball because he does like it, even without Christopher's influence. He can't bring himself to get rid of the Dungeons and Dragons books, but he can't look at them, either. They end up in the downstairs hall closet, forgotten on the shelf.
So, years later, after rising to the top of the food chain (no one was ever going to embarrass him like Eddie Munson had again) and then falling to the bottom (who cares about high school popularity when interdimensional monsters exist) and of course, the years of fighting against said interdimensional monsters before ending it all in spring of '86, Steve finds himself, unwillingly, agreeing to host Hellfire since the school banned the club following the events of spring break.
Damn Dustin Henderson. Steve usually has the backbone to say no but Dustin had to play up 'getting a chance to finally just be kids' and fuck, how was Steve going to say no to that? Despite how quickly his own desire to be a freshman playing Dungeons and Dragon had been squashed, he can't be the one to ruin this for them.
"Thanks for hosting, man," Eddie says when Steve lets him in. He's an hour early but had asked if that was okay. Apparently the dungeon master has a lot of prep to do? Not that Steve would know.
"Sure," Steve says, dismissively, because while Eddie and he went through hell together, and Steve carried his sorry ass out of the Upside Down, Steve can't quite let his guard down around him.
It's funny. In the Upside Down, Eddie had made a point to tell him he's changed, is a 'good dude' now. So, what's funny is how much Eddie is exactly the same person he was five years ago. He was an ass to Steve five years ago, and as far as Steve is concerned, was also an ass to Lucas for wanting to play basketball just this year.
He swears to God, if he hears one negative thing about Lucas tonight, he's punching Eddie unconscious, no matter what the rest of Hellfire will do or say about it.
Eddie's been in his dining room for maybe five minutes before he finds Steve in the living room. Steve's got a movie playing but he couldn't tell you which one. He's not really watching it.
"Do you got a table cloth for that big table? Jeff's got a set of metal dice and I'd feel like a real ass if we scratched it on accident."
Steve takes a deep breath before answering. He hates that Eddie is considerate like this, has been since spring break if Steve's being honest, but he doesn't want to see Eddie's good qualities. So, he waves in the direction of the closet. "Yeah. There should be some in the hall closet there. Help yourself."
"Thanks."
He twists on the couch to watch Eddie cross the room to the closet door, listens as the door creaks opens, hears the quiet, pleased noise Eddie lets out when his eyes land on the stack of table clothes. Steve continues to watch as Eddie just grabs the whole stack and yanks them off the top shelf.
Which means his watching as the stack of non-fabric objects, which must have been half atop the table clothes, also tumble out of the closet, bouncing off various parts of Eddie. It's a bunch of miscellaneous items. However, Steve realizes with horror, the book that bounces off Eddie's head is his copy of the Monster Manual. Eddie has stepped back in surprise (and possibly pain), so the Dungeon Master Guide and the Players Handbook bounce off his torso and leg before landing on the ground.
"Fuck," Eddie curses, before he stares down at what just assaulted him. Steve just stares at Eddie, watching as he slowly comes to comprehend what he's seeing. He watches as Eddie bends down and grabs the Player Handbook, the last thing to fall, from a top the pile. "What the-"
Steve stands, suddenly defensive, but doesn't actually say anything or move closer. He just watches as Eddie examines the book, flipping it from front to back in his hand like the title will change if he does that enough times.
Then, Eddie turns to him, bewildered. "Present for one of the kids? Thought they all had their own copies."
"No."
Eddie flips the book open. Reads the words written in there so many years ago. "Who's Christopher? Wait. 1981? You were playing D&D in 1981?"
"None of your business, and no," Steve says, now kicking into action, stomping up to Eddie and snatching the book from his hands.
Eddie hold his hands up in defense before his eyes turn mischievous. The same glint in them now that was there when Eddie'd leaned into this space in the RV and called him big boy. "Are you lying to me, Stevie? You've played before, haven't you?"
It makes Steve's blood boil. "No. I haven't played!"
"Alright. You could now, you know," Eddie says. And it's the way he says it, all nonchalant and like he's trying to be coy about it- it tips something over inside Steve. A bottle that held his humiliation and hurt from all those years ago.
"Oh, now I'm good enough for D&D? Now I can join? Aren't I too much of a jock for you!?"
"Whoa, what's with the hostility-"
"What's eight plus seven, Eddie!?" Steve snaps. His memory might be shit these days, with all the concussions, but the unfortunate part about Steve is that he always seems to remember the bad. And he remembers Freshman First Day like yesterday. "No? How about seventeen plus six? Come on, mental math isn't hard. Or don't you remember? I'm just a stupid jock too slow on the uptake, or no, what was it you said? It'll be a nightmare to play with me, 'cause I might be barely able to read the rules?"
He watches as Eddie's face morphs from confusion, to understanding and horror. "Holy shit, Steve. That was you- you wanted to join Hellfire-"
"Yeah, and you made it pretty fuckin' clear I didn't belong in it."
"I'm sorry man. I shouldn't have- if I'd known you, I never would have-"
"That's the problem, Eddie!" Steve shouts, waving the book in front of him. "You didn't know me. You looked at me and decided for me that I was going to be a jock and nothing else and then humiliated me in front of other people! You didn't even bother to try to know me. I spent three weeks reading this stupid book cover to cover because I knew I was shit at reading and I still wanted to try anyway."
He sees Eddie puffing up in anger. "Well, I wasn't exactly wrong, was I? You were a jock, a bully even!"
"Yeah, because I was a dumb, hurt kid who decided that it was better to hurt than be hurt. As if you weren't exactly the same that day, lashing out at me first, at my reading ability, and mocking me for not being quick at math. Fuck you, Munson!" Steve walks away, not hearing anything Eddie shouts after him as he sprints up the stairs and shuts himself in his room.
Steve knows he was a dick in high school, and it's not Eddie's fault he was a dick. Steve made choices he's not proud of and no one forced those choice on him. But Eddie doesn't get to throw that back in his face. Not when Eddie made him feel humiliated and stupid on the first goddamn day of high school, long before Steve became mean himself.
