Putting these two side by side, Malleus REALLY took after his mother. I know Lilia says that he looks like Raverne but naaah his Mama's genes won here.

Sometimes I wonder, whenever Lilia sees Malleus slick his hair back like this, does he sometimes see the late princess in the young dragon's reflection?

It's a bittersweet feeling that he carries his mother's beauty but the tender heart of his father and the culmination of that love resulted in a hauntingly beautiful prince so loved by his found family but faced nearly two centuries of loneliness

"hey! don't disturb his highness!"

the screeching sound of sebek's voice rang through malleus' ears as he groaned softly, stirring around his bed before hearing his bedroom door burst open.

before he could get up and assess the situation, a pair of arms wrapped around him, letting out a soft 'oof' in surprise before turning his head to find you burying your face on his back.

"happy birthday!!!"

a soft laugh escaped his lips, sitting up as he properly made you embrace him, "you dare disturb my slumber, dearest?"

he was only messing around. you knew he had been awake the moment sebek yelled at you, so in response, you snuggled closer. "you know you can't be mad at me~" you cooed, rubbing your cheek against his.

pulling away, you took a better look at him. his sleepwear was certainly elegant, and his bed hair did not make him look unpleasant - it was the opposite. what caught your attention were the forehead scales, a feature that hints at his draconic lineage, all in display for you to see.

you smiled unconsciously, cupping his cheeks as you eyed the scales. he, however, felt a little self-conscious, as he thought you found it hideous. to cover it up, he fixed his hair and used his magic to comb it in place.

you pouted.

"why did you hide it?"

"it's not worth looking."

your pout turned into a frown, "do you think i find you hideous?"

he did not respond, surprised to see you genuinely downcast over his decision to cover the scales. "...it's not like that, my dear," spoke malleus before sighing with a soft laugh, bringing up his bangs, "you're an odd one."

you smiled once again, laughing softly as you got on your knees to reach his head better. "it's so beautiful... especially on you," you replied as you cupped his cheeks, "you look so majestic, mallie, like a true king."

the heat rose to his cheeks as it tinted a slight pink. no matter how long you've been together, he can never get used to your sudden compliments. noticing his blush, you giggled and kissed him all over his face, "happy happy birthday, my love!"

his arms wrapped around you, pulling you closer as you continue your acts of affection. light laughs left his lips as you showered him with kisses, tickling him in the process before hugging him tight.

"happy birthday, mallie~"

that was your third greeting. you were starting to sound like a broken record, at least to you, but to malleus, it meant the world to him. he wasn't one to be excited for his birthday despite having it as a national holiday in his nation, but having you be excited for it every year made him look forward to it just as much as you did.

'it's a way to celebrate another year! no matter how long or short your life is, don't you think it's worth celebrating?'

that was what you told him in your first year together, and since then, he has taken your words to heart. it's another way for him to celebrate another year he gets to spend with you.

"a million thanks, my love," spoke malleus in a soft whisper before placing a gentle kiss on your forehead, "let's go have breakfast, shall we?"

It’s been so long since I drew something for a character’s birthday… but I’ve been really into twst (specially Diasomnia,,,, 🧎‍♀️) lately and this was the perfect excuse to draw the baby dragon Mall hehe 💚

In memory of the Apology Mug Story (and because I walked past a super old building recently; guess what it had on the facade)

Reader who knows how to carve rocks into specific forms and is very skilled in it makes Malleus a gargoyle for his birthday. He's so happy he ends up accidentally confessing his love to them.

Bonus points if that was Lilia's idea because he got tired of seeing them dance around each other and wanted things to happen already

A special birthday present for our favorite draconic prince <3

Being in Ramshackle with a limited amount of entertainment (being unable to afford many electronics) you had to resort to other forms of entertainment. Reading, cooking, sewing, board games, long walks outside, musical instruments, and your most recent of endeavors; rock carving. You had learned a few things here and there from Malleus, he was an avid crafter of gargoyles within his club and was more than happy to teach you a thing or two. Although most of your attempts seemed to fail in his eyes, you were actually secretly incredibly skilled at this. You were leaving your skills to set up a surprise present for the fae for his birthday; January 18th.

It wasn't hard to figure out what you were planning on doing for his birthday, Malleus was incredibly easy to read. Although money was scarce for you, using your skills to handmake something would be much more worth receiving than any amount of money could pay for. At least, that's what Malleus had said when you inquired what he would like at his celebration.

"A present is not necessary," He told you with a graceful smile, "Bring yourself, and your smile. That is enough for me." ...you were not going to take that as the final verdict, thus began your journey to create a gift he was surely going to enjoy.

His birthday came upon you, and your gift was finally completed. You did not hesitate to rush over to Diasomnia for the celebration, bringing over two things; A homemade ice cream cake, and your gift box. The cake was pretty much the start of Malleus's excitement, ice cream cakes exist?! It wasn't common in Twisted Wonderland much to your surprise, so sharing your handmade cake with his enjoyment of icecream implemented already sent him over the moon. The joy that was written all over his face was the easiest text to read, soon pouring out of his mouth in a theatric novel after unwrapping his second gift from you- two gargoyles. They were miniature and made for décor less than actual function, however, his excitement seemed to explode off the tip of his tongue.

His bright green eyes were sparkling, his mouth ajar, and a blush painted across his pale cheeks.

"It's us! See, one has your horns and the other-" Malleus immediately wrapped you into his embrace, much to the protest of Sebek nearby, yet the smiles of amusement of Silver and Lilia quickly hushed the student. It seemingly seemed the words held inside had burst at the seams, and Malleus had begun setting free the things he had been eager to share for some time now.

"I am in pure infatuation with you," Malleus blurted out, "I have not received a gift so heartfelt and beautiful," it almost sounded like he was holding back tears of happiness.

"Two gargoyles representing you and I, shall I take this as a declaration that you wish to be my pair?" He did not await your response, the tall fae was already shooting off at the mouth. "I reciprocate. Your beautiful craftmanship will forever be my treasure, next to you, of course." You could not hide the clear redness from your face, and the dumb smile that planted permanently at his sudden confession.

"it's about time!" Lilia laughed, "Now, let us celebrate not only our prince's birthday but also the union between these two lovebirds!" Malleus pulled away from the hug and smiled again at the gargoyles you intricately designed, turning to face his dormmates.

"Yes, let us resume the festivities. We shall celebrate all night long, this will be a birthday well worth remembering. Come now, my dearest." Setting down the Gargoyles in a safe place, he grabbed hold of your hand dragging you into the joyful celebration <3

Thank you ________, for sending me black roses to celebrate my birthday. Taking the most elegant rose I’ve turned it into a broach to wear as a sign of our friendship. The rest are cozied up in a vase near my bed. Every morning, I shall take the time to replenish the water till their color fades. Till the day the flowers are longer alive and well. On the day they die, I presumed it was best for me to toss them aside. However, I cannot bring myself to do so. I want to treasure them even in death.

For why should I throw them away when the smell of sweet rose continues to linger. When the day comes for them to shrivel up, I’ll pick up the roses so they may become preserved. Gifting a new life to live. Yes, I quite like the sound of that, for the roses will live a new life. One as a memory from the day you gifted me a lovely birthday bouquet.

With that settled, my day must get started.

Before I took time to write once more, I spent my time searching for your eyes across the room. There you were dancing happily with Ace and Deuce. Even the mischievous Grim was dancing on top of Sebek’s feet. How nice was the scene of a lively bunch of friends. When I waved to you, my heart nearly stopped from how our eyes met. Never before had my eyes stayed locked onto such a dazzling sight.

Making my way over to you draped in beautiful lights. Before my hand could reach out to you, a bold request left your lovely lips. How amusing of you to have requested a dance with me so fast? Like a blast of words barely coherent to anyone who didn’t pay close attention. Perhaps scared someone loud would take my hand before you had the perfect chance.

Dancing with you was wonderful. The way our steps aligned to the sound of Lilia’s music seemed to play out in perfect rhythm. Gracefully holding your hand in mine, even now it seems the warmth of your body lingers on my fingertips. Tell me how would you describe my dancing? Did I carry the elegance of beauty or the charisma of a lover?

Just as I have treasured the dance we shared; I’ll continue to treasure our relationship.

As time moves forward, I hope our relationship moves forward like the change in roses. Not one where it simply fades with time, but one that transforms. No longer will I hold myself back from loving you. Darling, if I wish to dance with you in my arms, I shall ask. Facing whatever rejection head on, what a bold move of mine. Perhaps your bold nature has painted me in new colors.
