Perfect Marriage Revenge is already my comfort drama and will be put on repeat frequently. These 2 virgins made my 2023!
As a person who finished the novel and, currently, is reading the webtoon, i aprecciate that they didn't change much of the story while doing the drama, honestly i'm even in awe that they put many interesting details that make the scenes more rich.
To me, all of this helped a lot for the better understanding and enjoyment of the drama, and of course, filled many non answered in-between parts left open in the novel and it's sooo refreshing to see, honestly!
I'm here today just give some facts till' today's episode, from the novel and the webtoon, that yall might find cool. I'm going to try to put in order ok?! NO SPOILERS AHEAD!
1 - Yi Joo dies hit by a car right after hearing a very "heartfelt" conversation between her husband and sister on their 1st wedding aniversary. She even buy a cake for that piece of shit! I liked that they put the detail of her husband covering her sister eyes on her dying spot.
2 - Yi Joo's paintings and art are pretty much on the drama, either the novel or the webtoon, they don't pay much attention to it. Yi Joo mostly wants just WJ Retail from her family in the story, period. Personally all the thing around her art gives her way more motives to get revenge and i love it!
3 - Se Hyeok is pretty much annoying both the novel e webtoon but is getting more lines on the drama. His motives are pretty much the same. Yoo Ra.
Se Hyeok is a "long time friend" of Yi Joo (everything being set by her stepmother). Yi Joo marries him not because of a "affection" like in the drama, it's much more like he is her safe haven, a person she trusts and can live peacefully (even at the cost of being in-laws with his shitty family). There is no love, romance or anything. They just live together living their lifes apart, interacting as friends. Her life with Se Hyeok looks a lot like the beginning of her life with Do Guk, no eating, sleeping or doing things together. In the drama looks like that too but with Yi Joo pinning over him a little bit but he doesn't care. Yi Joo romantic life does not exist before Do Guk.
4 - As Yi Joo dies by an accident, she does not know much about her stepmothers plans so, her rage is much more driven by the betrayal of Yoo Ra, Se Hyeok and all the lies and manipulations around her life, of course, things escalate as she keeps discovering everything. But the part of her stepmother unpluging her support machine is *chiefs kiss* and confessing everything was well made and put, and i give that a applause because makes Yi Joo more hurtless.
5 - I just wanted to point that this is Yi Joo's first kiss, maybe Do Guks too, i'm not sure, i'm gonna search it. In the novel and webtoon, if i'm correct, there's is a whole conversation about kissing on the altar on their wedding day, which they do and that's Yi Joo first kiss. Saying that pretty much explains her whole relationship with Se Hyeok.
6 - For Yoo Ra, some of you could have a glimpse of her future until now. She is much more driven by her mother ideas, plans, feelings and her own obsession on being better than her sister in everything, as Do Guk pointed out, which worked until now. But well, you all saw the ridicule she passes when she makes her own decisions and is driven by her envy and hatred for Yi Joo. Man, it will get worse, just wait and see.
7 - SHOUT OUT to pretty much everything else being as much alike as the novel and even the webtoon than i thought it would. The actors and actresses and doing a fantastic job, much love to SUNG HOON AND JUNG YOO MIN for their amazing performances that bought to life life the perfect Do Guk and Yi Joo that i was expecting.
Much love guys!

Moving
Moving went from:
A high school drama
to superheroes
to spy thriller
to bromance
to slow burn romance
to Kill Bill level action gore
to slice of life showing the most heartwarming moments between the adults and kids,
to the ultimate enemy stand-off,
to tragic backstories of the so called villains,
to found family
to much needed family reunions!
Moving aced all genres and emotions!
Moving has reshuffled my entire all time favourite Kdrama list - Kingdom stays at the Top, Moving comes second, followed by Hot Stove League and Reply 1988.
I have so much to write , so much to unpack - I’m rewatching it and will keep posting my thoughts!
I so love this drama and every single member of the cast! Everyone nailed the role they were given - big or small!

MOVING
GENRES: Sci-Fi, Drama
SUMMARY: A handful of superhuman parents refuse to keep working for the government and instead lay low to protect something more precious than national security: their children.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Superheroes on stage, skipping class, bullying, black ops, fried chicken, ceiling nets, college entrance exams, tonkatsu, young love, getting lost, 404 computer errors, city bus chases, justice, North Korean terrorism, revenge, bullet souvenirs, and parental monsters.
HOT TAKE: I. Loved. This. Show. There, I said it. I have so much to say about this show I can't possibly fit it all in this pithy review. I laughed, I cried, I gasped. I fell in love with these characters immediately, I rooted for them, and felt their pain when they faced personal defeat.
This show is honestly for everyone. It's got slice of life high school drama, adorable romance, sci-fi superpowers, government corruption, well-staged action [Trigger Warning: there's a lot of blood, wounds, and flesh-squelching sounds along with the action scenes], and a little bit of mystery to tie the whole package together. And I would totally sit through Zo In Sung in several 'John Wick' style movies without batting an eye.
WATCH THIS SHOW.

My Demon
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
My Demon (2023/24, South Korea)
Director: Kim Jang Han
Writer: Choi Ah Il
Mini-review:
Look, I'm not gonna lie. I started this drama for a very superficial reason: Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang are one of the most gorgeous couples I've ever seen. And tbh, that's one of the things that kept me watching until the end. The first half was pretty fun, thanks to their will-they-won't-they dynamic and some really funny supporting characters and recurring gags. Unfortunately, it began to drag around the middle part, and then it got more and more boring with each passing episode. By the time the final episode came out, I no longer cared about the plot, the characters or anything else (although the ending itself was quite nice). With all that in mind, I can't help but think My Demon would have worked much better as a movie.

Death's Game
Started it today and ended it today. This 8 episode long series is too intense to leave it for later. I binged watched it like I haven't done so in a while. It is the kind of series that is best to go into it without knowing much, unless you read the webtoon. I haven't read it yet, but it's a really short webtoon so I think I will probably read it.
Anyway, this series is not for the fainted heart. It has a lot of triggers and it can be gruesome and gory in some points. However, if you don't mind it, watch it. It is really good. It keeps the audience in suspense and it makes us cry.
The cast did an amazing job! Each person felt like it was Yi Jae.

I just gotta say I love that they kept the FL in pastels!!!!! Yes to strong badass female characters being feminine!!!
Also as a fan of the webtoon... (SPOILER ALERT) I'm so sad they got rid of Jewon Hyeon!!!! Like I get that adding him would have made the storyline more complicated and they don't have that much time to flesh out the whole him dying and his backstory, it being a drama and all... but I'll miss my baby!!!! I was so looking forward to watching him!!!! When i first saw Jung Hye's secretary I thought it was Hyeon because of his looks and the glasses but his actions sure proved me wrong
Looking forward to the changes they've made... not really but🥺🤷♀️
Also someone please explain why people are complaining about Yi-Ju!!!! Like seriously don't get why they think her character is inconsistent!!! Helppp

DRAMA REVIEW | MOVING (2023)
In a time when we are suffering from an over-saturation of content and less than mediocre stories, particularly related to people with superpowers, South Korea has released MOVING and proved there's still hope for the genre.
Like its tittle the story is in constant move, not only pushing forward but going back to different timelines to give us context o our main characters and how the things happening in present time are a direct consequence to the past. Technically, MOVING is perfect. One of the strongest points is definitely the editing and this can be seen in the way the story jumps from one year to another but you never lose track of what's happening nor leaves you confused. There are gaps to fill but with other episodes that will give you answers. The score complements the actions and emotions of the characters to perfection.
The performances are top notch and it's not surprise considering this drama is stacked. If you have been watching korean dramas or films for a while, you will recognize even the most random character or one-episode-cameo it's performed by an award winning actor or actress. These people have a reputation for a reason and they deliver in every scene, with a look, a touch, a smile or a punch that will push you through a wall. For some characters in the drama literally speaking.
Zo In Sung hasn't starred in a drama since Dear My Friends (2016) and I am so glad this is his return to the tv format. In MOVING he delivered a nuance, charming and badass performance that in the hands of another would have fell flat. His character's entire existence it's what pushes most of the story forward: a person used as a weapon to kill but all he ever wanted was to live. The big mystery of the drama it's to find out what was his fate after he got separated from those he loves.
Ryoo Seung Ryong remains one of the most compelling actors of his generation, giving us the incredible story of a good man lost in life until he found his purpose and redemption. His storyline, full of gore and violence, was actually a tender love story about how far a man will go to protect his family. Marvelous.
Han Hyo Joo's character could have easily fallen into the Smurfette principle but no. She's an equal to the men who love her and those that want to kill her, with a very strong motivation to keep herself on the top of the game. This character's loneliness comes through every scene she's in, bottling everything up in order to be strong for her family but you can tell she's waiting for a chance to be free and, most importantly, for her son to be able to live freely.
Ko Yoon Jung, Lee Jeong Ha and Kim Do Hoon are really promising actors, particularly considering they hold their own while performance with so many household names. I think Kim Do Hoon and Kim Sun Kyun probably gave one of the most heartbreaking yet beautiful stories in the drama.
Like I mentioned before every single actor in this drama brought their A+ game face but I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention Kim Hee Won, Cha Tae Hyun, Ryoo Seung Bum, Park Hee Soon, Yang Dong Geun, Jo Bok Rae, Park Kwang Jae, Kim Joong He and, of course, Kwak Sun Young. She in particular was SPECTACULAR.
None of these characters are one-dimensional, they are not defined by the label society wants to put on them. They are all joined together by the experiences, hardships, love, motivations and ambitions they share. At the end of the day, related or not by blood, they are a family. Even the so-called enemies.
MOVING it's absolutely worthy of the hype that surrounds it through all social media and news outlets putting in the category of one of 2023 best tv shows. I only regret I didn't have the time to watch it sooner so I could have add it to mine.

ALONG WITH THE GODS: THE LAST 49 DAYS
GENRES: Supernatural, Drama
SUMMARY: We meet the Guardians again, this time diving deep into their own histories as they defend the wrongfully decesased.
THIS MOVIE HAS EVERYTHING: Sacred pots, thugs, fraternal Goryeo strife, orphan saving, lava monsters, sea monsters, recycling, forgiveness, confessions, and tiger hunting.
HOT TAKE: This second movie in the series really lets Kim Hyang Gi acting chops shine, and I couldn't be happier because she is just the bestest.
We get a lot of Goryeo-era flashbacks, just as many (if not more) green screen scenes, and Ma Dong Seok tying everything together in a bow that only he is strong enough to create.
I didn't cry as much during this movie, but since it didn't have to worry about introducing the audience to the afterlife and all of its intricacies and quirks, I felt like this was the better of the two. it got right to business, spent its time well telling a story, and set up the next sequel for fans to look forward to.
