Doing all this research for my BA thesis and honestly if it weren't that sad, it would be hilarious how Turkey's (on several occasions in the past) all like "we have to ban/ monitor kurdish parties because they might threaten our DEMOCRACY and we can't have anyone questioning our UNITY" when in fact then the HDP (kurdish opposition party) is the one with the most intra-party democracy, meaning the most bottom-up democratic party this country has to offer, while the other mainstream parties are stuck with their top-down patriachal system
