The recent Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero conversation once more got me thinking about my old pitch for if SubZero’s existence hadn’t been so violently rejected, so here’s a model sheet that’s Totally Definitely 100% Official.

me, hyped up about Star Trek Enterprise again after finishing my beloved season 3: I wonder if there are any posts about it on tumblr *searches*
me, twenty minutes later, closing the results: ah. I see. it has suffered from fandomification, where fans threw out canon and replaced it with fanon. one hundred and thirty seven polls asking "what was your first/favorite star trek" and it is at the bottom of every one. this between 14million other posts about every other star trek series. some funny memes thrown in for ~flavor~. great. wonderful. I'll just go back into my happy little corner with my parents who unironically enjoy the show with me then.

Ayear or two ago i bought this lil Razor Crest snap model and tonight decided to assemble it. Also was able to get a couple of the bigger stickers on it but the individual windows? forget it. Still fun to do while having something on the background.

admittedly I have never liked stories about time travel but also I think the time travel is Star Trek: Enterprise’s weakest point, which is unfortunate since that’s what a lot of the Plot Episodes rely on. I don’t think you need to ~see the future~ to understand that Enterprise’s actions will have huge consequences due to its place as Earth’s first deep space ship, and I think that having more uncertainty about what will happen fits better into the theme of humanity choosing its place in the galaxy
I think that instead of aliens who can actually see the future telling the Xindi that Earth was going to destroy them, the aliens should have just been lying about it. I think that would be fun and sexy

Star Trek: Pitch & Guide> Guide part 2--The Script & The Ship
BW Media Spotlight continues with two sections of the Star Trek: Pitch & Guide> Guide part 2--The Script & The Ship
The guide section of our series may be shorter than I thought, but given I’ve also looked at the original sales pitch, back when the ship was the SS Yorktown and the captain was Robert April, this should still be a decent series of articles in the wider story bible review series. I thought each section was going to be longer than it is. Today we’re looking at the format for an average Star…

Cloud Migration Benefits | Transform Your CX Strategy
Discover the range of benefits you can experience by migrating to a cloud contact center solution.
For businesses at the forefront of digital transformation, the shift to the cloud is not just an IT upgrade—it’s a critical strategic move. The migration to cloud-based infrastructure enables businesses to re-architect their customer engagement strategies with increased agility, robust scalability, and an unprecedented capacity for innovation.
The real question isn’t why you should migrate to the cloud—it’s why not. Companies entrenched in legacy systems face more than operational inefficiencies; they risk falling behind the curve in delivering dynamic customer experiences. The article, written by Peter Suciu, discusses the USS Long Beach, America's first nuclear-powered cruiser, detailing its history, technological advancements, and operational service from its construction in the late 1950s through its decommissioning in the 1990s. The USS Long Beach, built by the Bethlehem Steel Company, was notable for its nuclear propulsion, which provided it with unlimited range and led to its inclusion in significant naval missions like Operation Sea Orbit and the Vietnam War. Despite its groundbreaking design and capabilities, the article highlights the challenges and costs associated with the decommissioning and disposal of nuclear-powered naval vessels, drawing a parallel to the ongoing efforts to recycle the ex-USS Enterprise (CVN-65). The USS Long Beach's legacy includes influencing the continued use of nuclear power for U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines.

CISA’s "Secure by Demand" guidance is must-read - CyberTalk

CISA’s "Secure by Demand" guidance is must-read - CyberTalk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Earlier today, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), distributed a new “Secure by Demand” guide.
The intention is to assist organizations in driving a more secure technology ecosystem by ensuring that cyber security is embedded from the start.
“This guidance is a wake-up call for any company that missed out on the costs and outages caused by Solar Winds, Log4J, Snowflake and CrowdStrike,” says Check Point CISO Pete Nicoletti.
Why the guide
In cyber security, procurement teams tend to grasp the fundamentals of cyber security requirements in relation to tech acquisitions. However, teams often fail to identify whether or not vendors truly embed cyber security into development cycles from day one.
The guide is designed to help organizations discern this type of critical information when evaluating vendors. It provides readers with questions to ask when buying software, considerations to work through regarding product integration and security, along with assessment tools that allow for grading of a product’s maturity against “secure-by-design” principles.
More information
The Secure by Demand guide is a companion piece to the recently released Software Acquisition Guide for Government Enterprise Consumers: Software Assurance in the Cyber-Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM) Lifecycle.
While the latter focuses on government enterprises, this guide broadens the scope to encompass a wider range of organizations across various sectors.
Key points to note
The two guides work in tandem to provide a comprehensive approach to secure software acquisition and supply chain risk management.
While the software acquisition guide targets government entities, the demand guide offers insights that are applicable to private sector organizations, non-profits and other institutions.
CISA strongly advises organizations to thoroughly review and implement the recommendations from both guides.
Each guide offers practical, actionable steps that can be integrated into existing procurement and risk management frameworks. Yet, that alone is not enough, according to Check Point Expert Pete Nicoletti…
“In addition to implementing this guidance, companies should add supply chain-related security events to their incident response planning and tabletop exercises to ensure they can recover quickly and with less impact. Further, review supplier contracts to ensure that expensive outages caused by them, offer up their cyber insurance, rather than just recovering the license cost,” he notes.
