"Afternoon Grian."

Grian startles, almost falling from his chair.

"Sorry love."

She turns to face him, "It's alright, just didn't hear you come in."

"What you working on?" Impulse asks, as he squishes himself into the chair next to Grian, thighs pressed together, both of them half falling off the chair.

Grian wraps his arm around Impulses waist,

"Resistance plans."

"Ah yes, the great Mycelium Resistance. What exactly you planning for now?"

She shrugs, "Just some vauge ideas, not sure what Scar's gonna do next, so no solid plans yet."

"Fair enough, want us to try and get more intel from them?"

"Nah, it'll be fun to just go with whatever he throws at us next."

Impulse smiles and leans against Grian.

"It's nice that you're letting loose a bit again,"

Grian hums a bit, leaning his head on Impulses shoulder as Impulse continues,

"just like the hippies."

Grian scoffs slightly, "Bit more organised than that, and marginally less drugs."

"Guess you need drugs to be able to let loose huh? First weed, now mushrooms." Impulses voice is light and teasing as he speaks.

Grian just rolls her eyes and shoves him off the chair.

Impulse almost laughs when he lands, but instead gasps dramatically, "Mother Spore how dare you. I am your Head of Diversionary Tactics you can't do this to me."

"Well, actually. I can. I am the one in charge y'know."

Impulse sits himself half up, leaning on his elbows,

"Yes Ma'am, whatever you say."

Grian pouts a little, and then yelps as Impulse pulls him off the chair. She lands with an oof on top of him.

Grian takes a moment to adjust to, and then,

"You do realise what you've done here right?"

"Yup. Bad desicion."

"Mhm."

Grian presses a kiss to Impulses nose before he gets herself comfy ontop of Impulse, cuddling into him.

Silence.

Another moment of silence.

"We should get up y'know?" Impulse makes no move to get up even as he speaks, one hand rested on Grians lower back, the other gently playing with the hair at the base of his neck.

"Mmm nope. I'm comfy."

"I'm not though love, as nice as your floors look, they are not fun to be laying on."

Gem is really starting to regret selling Grian to Impulse. Not a single hermit has seen the avian since then, and Impulse has had a strangely large number of brightly-colored feathers to decorate himself with...

She's not concerned for Grian, no. Impulse is a sweetheart and she doesn't think he can genuinely hurt someone without experiencing guilt for weeks afterwards. Wherever Grian is, Impulse is probably waiting on him hand and foot. Impulse is lovely like that.

No. She's more concerned that Impulse is going to be buried under a pile of feathers. There's so many of them, and they keep appearing! It seems to be a minimum of one a day, maybe more. They'll be no Impulse left soon! Only feathers!

(What has happened, it turns out, is Grian started his moult soon after and decided he was going to make it entirely Impulse's problem. A promise he's very good at keeping.)

Grian/Impulse doing this except Grian actually manages to lift him to the surprise of a fair amount of the hermits.

(Pearl, Mumbo, and Doc knows very well how ridiculously stronger Grian is than he looks. Scar should know too, but he's scatter brained and forgets from time to time)

I like this with other hermits too, but Impulse is generally the one I give The Big Boy status to.

For Gripulse, there was the hippies in season 6, the Southlands in Last Life, and Boatem in season 8. Grian is an imp. Impulse is an imp. The only mercy to their pranks is that they’ll clean up afterwards.

why do we not talk about impulse and grian team up in last life enough??? they went on a whole little trip around the server to look for the wither skulls and when impulse couldn't find a third???

why are we not talking about the fact that impulse went to the nether!!!!! in the middle of a life game!!!!! just because he didn't want to disappoint grian!!!!!! we always talk about how grian is devoted to people, but we never talk about the people devoted to grian.

impulse?????? imPULSE IS JUST AS LOYAL AS GRIAN, AND HE IS LOYAL TO HIM. impulse will go above and beyond for people, and the amount of times he's gone above and beyond for grian....

not to mention!!!!!! they're both pranksters!!!! and they feed off of each other!!!! impulse is a bit more quiet in his mischievousness, but grian brings it out a lot more. grian is the guy to propose an idea and impulse will go "oh no, that's horrible. here's how we can pull it off." LIKE MMMMMMM

Finally getting around to publishing the fic I'm working on. I only have the short prologue out as of now but am currently working on the first chapter of the story.

I have also decided to features ships like Ranchers and Gripulse. Cause I love them more than anything :]

impulse x grian with some domestic bliss (right before theme change whoops)

Impulse and Grian usually avoid showing too much affection around other hermits, they’re quite reserved about their relationship but also don’t want to risk making any other hermits uncomfortable. The most is the occasional nickname and keeping their hands linked (hidden under the desk at hermitcraft meetings, but with their seats shuffled extra close to one another.)

Most hermits assumed that was just how they were. They hadn’t been dating very long, they were probably being slow with physical affection. Actually, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

When they were in each other’s homes, they were attached to one another most of the time. Impulse would keep his arms around Grian any chance he got and Grian would happily be carried by Impulse or perch on him. They peppered each other in kisses and were happy to just lay in bed for hours together.

They gave each other gross, sickly sweet nicknames, that would send the other into frenzied blushing and stammering. They made each other tea and soup, they shared blankets even though they both tried hogging them. They held each other close and listened to the other’s heart beat. They didn’t need to talk, for once they both slowed down and just enjoyed existing together.

It came easily to them, switching between the modes depending on their company. Entering their house at the end of the day feels like shedding a heavy coat. They can just be. And that comes with all the sappy kissing and holding each other close that could ever need.

But, the smaller displays of affection mean just as much to them. There's something about sneaking a kiss that fills them with butterflies and giggles.

I love how easy it is in hermitcraft fandom to just. get people into literally any ship possible. its so poly-coded that we as a fandom just kinda accepted that everything is canon and good. that's really not that easy in any other fandom lol. like. here I can just say "ye I like this ship I think they are neat and that's the dynamic I see for them" AND 1. THERE WILL BE NO HATE 2. PEOPLE WILL GET HOOKED UP ON IT 100% . YE DUDE THIS THING WORKS I AGREE!! THEY INTERACTED TWICE BUT WHO CARES THIS IS MY NEW SHIP WE SHARE IT
