[Masterpost] Uta no Prince-sama Dramatic Masterpiece Show Translations

Hello, hello~!! I am back with more UtaPri translations thanks to @melynir~! This time, I present to you the Dramatic Masterpiece Show trilogy! They're adaptations of classic books we all know and love, but of course, they have their own UtaPri twist added~ The main theme songs and, I guess one could say, insert theme songs were all so good and fun to listen to. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be Faust's songs!

The dramas are mostly faithful to the source material, with Dreaming of Oz being the closest (in my opinion), but there are still lots of twists and turns that will definitely keep you seated! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

It's annoying how many Glinda fans, specifically a certain type, act condescending towards people criticizing Glinda's actions and her as a character, calling her out for how she operates in a way that benefits her by saying "Oh, these people don't know anything, they haven't seen Act II or read the books." But when they are told that both forms of media have been seen, they still get in their feelings, especially towards black and other poc fans who, when discussing Glinda, talk about how she feels very reflective of white feminism, respectability politics and performance activism (which she is), something that they know probably what it's like to be around people like that from personal experience. Just because you like a character, especially one who does bad things, doesn't mean you get to be rude to others or downplay their intelligence when they call these actions out. Glinda is often infantilized a lot in this fandom, from what I've gathered, even though (speaking from a movie standpoint) she literally sings about how she understands the way her society works and how she uses those rules to her advantage. There are many things that Glinda does that are fake and catty, and there's nothing wrong with calling that out. Also, another thing, yes some people haven't seen the musical (in person or in full) whether it not being available or just lack of interest, but there are ways to still learn about Act II before the second half of the movie comes out, whether through a quick Google search or just watching bootleg recordings of the musical on YouTube, people can learn, but you acting pretentious and downright hostile probably makes them want to avoid this fandom as a whole. Then you wonder why no one wants to engage with Wicked. You can like her as a character, all good and well as even I can find myself drawn to her, but let's not let your enjoyment of her cloud your judgment and having you lash out at people, because that's really uncalled for.

The one who has all the luck partner as well?!? The villain who was actually not the Villain this whole time!?!? The loving humanity a little too much it causes their downfall !?!?!?

#Okay to put it into better words:#Veritas having once being a prince wanted to give everyone the prosperity of knowledge and became a civil god in the pursuit of it.#Sadly this backfires in people using that knowledge for their own greed and creating civil wars within it as well as unleashing far more #Destruction upon the land. And the other gods didn't help Veritas in stopping that bc see that's what happens when people overshare info!!#So the aftermath is just pure chaos plus banishment from being a civil god and thrown as this god of war and plague.#800 years passes and he is seen to just still be doing the same things but I a simple term. Teaching people to read and count.#Often times taking up mission and doing research on new pathogens to help cure the sick that can't afford and somehow during a reading #Lecture he gets ascended back to godhood and everyone is like ??? And even he is like ???#Well he doesn't care much about it and just continues to do what he's always done. Except that once in a while he has to take a detour #Mission to deal with ghosts and other malignant spirits. And upon one of those recurrences he finds himself aquaintanced with #The infamous Ghost King Aventurine. Who is mostly feared in heaven due to having beaten the strongest and wisest at their own games. Even #When the odds where fully against him.#As for Aventurine.#His life was harsh but as the prince had given a lot to the people #Not just education but also free them of diseases and sickness. One of which had struck his sister. He liked the prince and wanted to #Follow in giving and protecting the prosperity of the former kingdom. But the good things did not last and his family was struck in between #The many wars that took place. No matter how much refuge Kakavasha and his sister sought no place was ever #Safe enough for them.#He watched the entire world go up in flames yet somehow he could hate the prince-god for it. But rather the people who had started to #Create weapons in his name. The rest of his years he spent it as a warrior slave and then when death reached him he couldn't even go to #The afterlife since he still held so much vigor and wanted revenge to all the people who had turned his land into ashes and his family #Into bones. That is why he became a mourning ghost.#(I didn't want the kakavasha story to be so centered on ratio like it is in tgcf. Like Xie Lian laughed internally at Xiao Ying's appearance several times even when she was dying, said that Yin Yu looked like a passerby (he was absolutely sure that his appearance was fake cuz it would be a perfect disguise 😭), mocked Qi Rong (800 years and failed to become a supreme and such), said that Mu Qing would be capable of spitting in someone's glass (but not poisoning, understand 🙏), meanwhile he almost had a heart attack seeing Hua Cheng's true appearance, he was so handsome for him.

Reading TGCF: Chapter Ten

For those who don't know, I am reading TGCF for the first time and sharing my thoughts!

If you have not read it, there will be spoilers! Consider this a warning.

Also- if you want to follow along, I am aiming to post updates daily. You can find all the posts in the tag Bloopitynoot reads TGCF. You can also check out the intro post for context on my read BUT if you followed along with my SVSSS read, the rules and vibe are the same.

I truly wish I could say this was a different tea, but from now on unless I state otherwise it's probably masala chai.

Body update: I feel less like trash than yesterday, but my right arm did take a hit LOL. Thankfully my hip is doing a lot better too so sitting is much better. (I'm not even a writer or specifically a writer on ao3, yet, it feels like I have the ao3 curse).

Nevertheless- onwards to chapter ten!

Dang this makes sense. General Pei jr couldn't just murder people directly because of his position. So, instead he lured them to their deaths (snake deaths, pit deaths, but definitely not him killing them technically!). This is some dictatorship misuse of power shit with full technical deniability for this guy. Gross. p345
