Got tagged by the lovely @goatunderthebridge in that fanfic review trend that's going around but I'm gonna be honest guys, my dark past has no business popping up on this blog. Watching Spirit (Stallion of the Cimarron) and I really gotta appreciate how this movie is about horses for horses. The MC is a cool horse that does cool horse stuff. Half the dialogue is in horse. Humans play minor roles. The majority of the movie is horse-running montages. If I were a horse I’d eat this shit up.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) is now banned from all tribal lands in the state after the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe voted to bar her from their reservation Wednesday, citing her repeated claims that tribal leaders work with drug cartels.

Noem sparked the controversy in March when she said tribal leaders benefit from the presence of cartels operating on their land.

“We’ve got some tribal leaders that I believe are personally benefiting from the cartels being there, and that’s why they attack me every day,” the governor said at a forum in March. “But I’m going to fight for the people who actually live in those situations, who call me and text me every day and say, ‘Please, dear governor, please come help us in Pine Ridge. We are scared.’”

in a couple months i get to start up probably the best job i've ever had again and i'm honestly SO excited to go back. i consider one of the pros of seasonal work being that i get to have a break from them long enough to get excited to return :3

It's been a while since I posted some creek finds! A LOT of really neat little treasures have washed up recently. Here are a few of them!

On this plate of creek finds we have 5 and 1/2 cow teeth, a goat or sheep tooth, opossum tooth, rabbit tooth, an old button, probably my favorite brachiopod fossil I've ever found (it's solid white quartz!!), some really exceptional crinoid fossils, first gastropod fossil I've ever found down there, loads of other rad fossils, some tumbled pieces of soda bottles from the late 1800s or very early 1900s, a piece of an old crock butter churn, lots of other neat tumbled glass and pottery pieces, some nice quartz crystals, a 25 year old plastic toy from Burger King lol, and maybe my favorite piece on the plate—a bisque porcelain duck head from an old figurine.

Amidst all of these awesome treasures there is also a special secret find—

It's another nice little chunk of creek-tumbled uranium glass! Looks like part of an old candy dish.
