Floof AU
Regarding the news today... I thought it was a good occasion to finally post these here. I kept forgetting. For years. I love my favourite boi as a giant woof floof. Happy Halloween, friends!

Cloudy Silhouette 🌲🌬️☁️
Although they distance us, we continue to see you, moving away between the sky and the light, your shape changes minute after minute, the whites of your eyes become cloudy, do you still see me? I hope to see you soon...
Aunque nos distancien, seguimos viéndote, alejandote entre el cielo y la luz, tu forma cambia minuto tras minuto, el blanco de tus ojos se nubla, ¿aún me ves? Ojalá vernos pronto...

On the left, Siege Ogres! About 10 ft (3 m) tall, ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, and they basically only care about 3 things: Eating, smashing (destruction), and smashing (fuckin). While most ogres are notoriously dumb, THESE are smart and patient enough to build tools and work well with others! Armor, chains, rides for their friends, battering rams, or giant crossbows! Some even strap small catapults on their back to launch goblins at people!
On the right, the Cloud Giant Smiling one! 23-25 ft (7-7.6 m) tall giants in the sky! The weather bends to thier whim, they're natural shapeshifters, and they have all sorts of magic for illusions and fog clouds and invisibility! Even a bit of weak mind manipulation, though they prefer to just use thier amazing persuasion, deception, and slight of hand skills. These ones LIVE for the drama, wearing masks with triumphant smirk on one side for mischief they cause and a grimace on the other because Storm Giants are higher ranked than them. They're tricksters, they value craftiness, and they'll eagerly do things others would think beneath them.

ok so imagine this. @hollewdz made a wonderful post about my adventures with superman where clark gets into kryptonite and it shrinks him. i have been rotating that post in my brain for the past 6 hours. me and my friend (@beepbopitsgt) have since been brainstorming!!! there are many types of canon kryptonite; pink, green, gold, black, the works. well i wanted to make a kryptonite that would amplify superman/kryptonians so much they would physically grow when in contact with it. i call it purple kryptonite because dr ivo's parasite suit (in the show) was purple and he grew when in contact with energy and it was. purple. thats crazy anyway here's clark in the middle of being in contact with the purple kryptonite and lois trying to calm him down

Ladies, gentlemen, and those of us who know better: after a week of work, 4 late or missing homework assignments, one very full basket of laundry and far too many friends who are sick of hearing about this, I present to you:
The Hels To Pay Tango Tek Trauma Flowchart.
Featuring 59 color-coded cards, five asterisks, eight billion arrows, and cited sources. Ive worked on this for far, far too long. Idk guys i just like dissecting characters :D i think i was planning to be more eloquent with this post but here we are. im tired.
Full board here (you can add comments and draw):

@aquaquadrant @lunarcrown thought yall might like to look through this ^_^ i hope i was able to kinda get the gist of what you guys were thinking with tangos character, i really find the way he's written fascinating!
i had the idea a little while ago, about how the core of tango's whole character was a vicious cycle, started by trauma that got forged into central beliefs, and running on fear and guilt. and, VERY out of character for me i KNOW, (sarcasm) i made a chart! it started with just the central cycle with catalysts, but. it. it branched out.
feel free to add on (or call out my mistakes lol) hope ya like it. be prepared for A Lot of reading :]

Whatever problems aside, I adore the painterly (?) take they did with the designs in the One Piece remake- It's obviously not 1:1 but the coloring style reminds me a lot of Oda's earlier color-spreads (it's the white highlights tbh):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's most likely just concept art but there's just so much life being breathed into East Blue that shows how much care was being put into the world, e.g. the culture of each island, a focus on making the world seem alive and lived in, what materials/items fit already existing characters.

One thing I love that they pointed out: "Themes in the original manga is deep. Like war, or stepping in topics of race. It allows all ages of readers to ponder about it and be entertained at the same time. This is the most intriguing part of the manga in my opinion. This is the fascination of the work."
As a fan of One Piece's themes and character-work (of which they also brought up- highly encourage anyone to watch the full video!), it was nice to see that emphasized. While most of what they showcased were the visuals for the anime, recognizing the heart of One Piece's story made me incredibly happy- even though that should be a given lmao. It's just so cool.
At the end of the day, I'm literally a manga reader so I don't tend to keep up with new other stuff, but what I'm hoping is for this to rope in new viewers who are afraid to start the original One Piece (especially with how notorious regular watchers say the pacing is, esp post-timeskip, + outdated SEs, etc.).
Ultimately I understand that it's not really geared towards me. I'd say read the manga if pacing is such a problem but I know it all boils down to preference in the end. All this presents is another lens for me to view the story in, and personally, it's nothing less.

thinking about "the Great Beast".
thinking about the superlatively unique and loveable creature, the tapir.
thinking about European colonial agents being perplexed and bedazzled upon first encountering the "forest cow" and the "elephant of the New World".
thinking about how an incredible extinct megafauna icon, the giant ground sloth, got its name (and became a central character in popular and professional discussions of paleontology and "extinction").
thinking about bulletproof moose.
thinking about eighteenth-century apothecary remedies.
thinking about how an animal name traveled from the Sahara in North Africa, through Arabic into Spain, to boreal forests of northern Eurasia, across the Caribbean and South America to describe "the beaste in which nature hath endeavoured to shewe her cunnyng".
