JP does not learn his lesson about contacting you. Terry finds that out one morning when he’s sipping his coffee in the kitchen, reading the news on his tablet and you appear in front of him, holding up your phone with that expression on your face, the one that tells him you’re extremely pissed off.

“What did you do?” You ask him as he takes it to study the DMs JP’s been sending you over Instagram.

“I sent a message.” He tells you bluntly, leaning back in his seat.

“Oh I can see that.” You say, your thumb scrolling over the screen to the pictures. “He had to see  a plastic surgeon about the nose.”

Terry tilts his face away, his lips pursing together before he sighs.

“He sent a message to your phone inviting you to The Red Room.” Terry tells you before meeting your gaze. “I know what happened there the first time and I didn’t want you to have to go back there-” He taps his temple. “-in here, so I confronted him.”

“You beat the shit out of him.” You state frankly, placing a hand on your hip.

“I did.” Terry informs you with a ferocity he feels in the depth of his bones. “Because he was planning to do it again Georgia and I don’t think a ‘no’ would have sufficed this time.”

There it is laid out into the space between the two of you, the real reason he snapped that night. He remembers that sensation when he stepped into that room back in the sex club, the way JP was testing those restraints. He even knows what the plan was, he found the GHB in JP’s pockets after he’d beaten the man half to death.

He’s lucky Terry didn’t kill him.

“I won’t apologise for protecting you.” He tells you, his gaze unflinching. “I take that part of my vows very seriously.”

“I’m not asking you to apologise.” You say to his surprise before you situate yourself in his lap. “I just want to know why you lied to me about it. When I asked you about the split knuckles, you told me you went too hard during training.”

Terry’s hands coming to rest on waist, his thumbs lightly caressing small circles through the tank top you’re wearing.

“I don’t want you to be scared of me.” He tells you honestly. “Seeing that violence, knowing what I’m capable of…”

“What I’ve always known you were capable of.” You remind him because Terry’s been pretty upfront about his past, his addiction issues, his PTSD, all of it. “And I could never be scared of you because I know you would never hurt me like that. I just don’t want you to feel like you have to keep secrets from me, especially ones that actually concern me.”

You amaze him, truly you do. The faith you have in him, your surety it sustains him. There have been so many times he could have fallen right back into the person he used to be but you’re always there, a constant reminder of the man that he can be, the better one, the happier one.

“Alright my love.” Terry murmurs as his arms wrap around you drawing you close. “If we’re being completely honest then I need to tell you what I did about his painting.”

“What painting?” You ask, your eyebrows furrowing into a frown.

“The naked one.” Terry tells you, his fingertips tucking a stray strand of hair back behind your ear. “The one he did of you.”

Sharing My Interpretation of Stardew Valley Shane's Life and Personality:

He had a rough childhood. His parents are divorced and as a child, Shane moves from one parent's house to another. Until each of his parents have their own families, Shane was eventually neglected.

Marnie and other relatives adopted him.

Due to constantly moving places, Shane haven't made any friends.

He spent most of his childhood watching Gridball, playing videogames, and/or being on the Internet.

In middle school, he met these two childhood sweethearts (Jas' parents) who eventually became his best friends.

Shane is the weird, quiet kid who always looks out the window and is mostly invisible to others kids.

But with his 2 friends? Shane is just like any other kid. He loves playing games, playing with toys, and laughs at butt jokes.

Shane changed a lot in high school. He became a popular kid being a varsity player in Gridball.

Think of any teenager-trouble you can think of, Shane has probably done it.

Shane is still a weird kid despite all that, it especially shines through when he's with his two friends.

He works part time while studying. He was dedicated to save up for college.

Shane had a promising future. He got good grades all while being a varsity player (and a troublesome teenager lol)

Shane was supposed to go to college when he got in an accident which left him with a broken ankle.

All the money he saved up went to hospital bills and therapy.

Marnie insisted that Shane move to Pelican Town for a while in order to heal. This is the time he started getting into farm life and fell in love with taking care of chickens.

After 2 years, Shane moved back to the city and have a fresh start.

He began working again and his jobs were mostly retail customer service.

Shane tried to continue studying. But it was either he was rejected or he was short on money to proceed with enrollment.

Due to co-workers' influence, Shane started drinking after shifts.

He was the wingman to his best friends' relationship.

Shane found a girlfriend during this time, it was a serious relationship. This inspired him to really change the course of his life. He cut back on drinking and started saving up again.

Shane was overjoyed when his friends announced their pregnancy. He made sure to always be there whenever his friends need him.

Because of this his friends call him papa Shane (⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)

Jas' name was an acronym of the trio's names. ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ (My HC their names are Jessie, Anton, Shane)

Secretly, Shane is jealous of his friends' happy little family. He always wondered how it must feel like to have a family, given that he doesn't have one eversince.

Living the fast-paced city life made Shane miss Pelican Town and realize that living in a farm is his true calling.

This sparked a lot of arguments between him and his gf. She wanted to grind her life for money, but Shane wanted to just live life.

They eventually broke up. This hurt him so much that he began drinking heavily every night to cope with the pain.

Then the accident happened. His friends died at the scene, leaving a poor baby Jas orphaned.

Shane was babysitting Jas when he heard the news.

Devastated, Shane drowned himself in alcohol. Saying he was a mess is an understatement. He had to quit his job to take care of Jas, and he was using up all of his savings for her and in beer.

When Marnie heard of the news, she took charge and arranged everything. She adopted Jas (since Shane is not suitable to be her legal guardian) and have her and Shane move back to her ranch in Pelican Town.

Shane shut himself off from the world. He refused to leave his room, he even refused to see/look at Jas. He hated looking at her because she reminds him of his late friends and the trauma of their passing.

His alcohol consumption turned into addiction. Shane cannot calm down until he's intoxicated. If he's sober, he spends the rest of his time crying and hating himself.

His turning point was when Marnie was out late due to a storm. Shane heard Jas' cries from the other room, he had to force himself up and attend to her.

Shane saw his goddaughter for the first time in months. She's no longer a beany baby, Jas can now stand up on her own and walk a few steps. When Marnie came home, Shane saw that his aunt was not getting any younger. Lines are starting to form on her face.

This made Shane realize that time passes and everything changes, except him.

Shane started forcing himself to be there for his "ragtag bunch" family.

He moved to the city for a better job but it didn't worked out for long.

He moved back to Pelican Town when he heard that there's a "promising job" waiting. Lol Joja

Shane always beats himself up. He's always thinking about the "what ifs" and contemplating if life is still worth it.

Shane became reclusive and antisocial even to the ones close to him.

His life this time was a constant wake up, eat, self-hate, work, drink, more self-hate, sleep.

Despite all this, Marnie didn't stop looking after Shane. She never fail to remind him that he is loved and there are people that care for him.

Slowly, Shane got "better" at handling his trauma and pain.

Shane started spending time with Jas. He no longer hated seeing her face, instead he hates himself for not being there when she needed him the most.

He picked up hobbies he liked back then. He plays videogames again. He watches Gridball games again. He helps with taking care of the chickens again.

He recently got a pet chicken, he named it Charlie. Charlie the therapist.

He began warming up to the other villagers, too.

He found himself being friends with Emily. Shane felt safe dropping his guard down around her and let his weird side shine through.

Then there's Harvey and Elliott. Shane didn't know when and how it happened, but the three of them always end up in awkward situations. Due to the constant exposure to one another, a brotherhood was formed.

Even though he puts up a "mean" façade, on the inside Shane is still that weird, goofy kid who only wants to be loved.

Shane may not admit it, but in Pelican Town, he felt loved that he had never felt before.

Recently, Shane picked up a new hobby. Breeding chickens. He had always find chickens fascinating, and when Shane hatched his first blue chicken, he cannot contain his excitement.

Yet, Shane is still struggling. It's hard for him to open up to new people. Most of time he only forces himself to get up and function. There are times that he feels good and then days later emotions hit him like a truck. Shane hates himself and how much of a failure he is. He became dependent on alcohol to comfort himself.

Lately he starts accepting his situation, thinking that his fate is sealed. He accepts that his life is nothing but a pathetic joke and there is nothing left for him... Until a new farmer moves in town.

Writing About Drugs

Writing about drugs and addiction can be challenging. Like it or not, drugs are a part of society. I strongly urge all writers to do their own research into this topic and handle it with the upmost respect and care.

Your Character's Journey Into, During and After Drugs

If your character happens to use drugs or is a recovering addict, it does not make them bad people or mean that they had must have a bad upbringing. People do drugs for all sorts of reasons and it isn't an indicator of moral virtue or lack of it.

Most people start using drugs voluntary to try them out. Some people start using drugs as a way to influence their mood or 'help' another problem. Experimentation doesnt always lead to addiction. People can use drugs without becoming dependent. Your character may be feeling lost at this time or bored or disenchanted with their situation or suffering.

If a character begins drugs regularly, they may deny they have a problem. Most drug users hide their habits from others which an lead to some risky behavior. They may start forming relationships with other users to hide their use or sustain it.

Characters who begin to fall into regular use of drugs may start to compartmentalise their use. They will become more adept at hiding their use, sometimes even scheduling their highs.

A character will start to act differently while using drugs, even look different. Some drugs cause weightless due to nausea and lack of appetite. Their behaviours will usually be blamed on something else or waved away. A character may become irritatable and defensive when asked questions.

Addiction is usually around the time a character loses control over their use. They may begin to engage in longer binges, high doeses and lose control of their life outside of drugs. Relationships may break down, jobs may be put in peril and the character may begin to take more risks.

Addiction is an illness and left untreated it can kill your character. However, they may shun help out of shame or fear of judgement, or may be too anxious to try help themselves. Your character will have to come to terms with their addiction and its effects on their life. Only when they've accepted it can they move on.

Withdrawal can be harsh on your character depending on what drug they use and how long they've been using. The side effects of withdrawal can cause a character to fear getting clean. It can be a long exhaustive and often painful process.

Characters who get clean can fall back into using drugs. Sometimes this can be triggered by stress. Falling back into drugs can pose issues such as lead to a higher risk of overdosing. Getting clean is a long process and they will need a lot of support.

Kinds of Drugs

Dissociative drugs: Dissociative drugs alter perception leaving the participant feeling a disconnection with the world around them. Examples: Ketamine and nitrous oxide

Depressants: Or sedatives calm the participant, slowing the breathing and reaction of the participants. Examples, GHB and benzodiazepines

Stimulants: Stimulants are the opposites of sedatives, perking up and hypering the participant. Examples: Cocaine and amphetamines

Psychedlics: Are an 'Hallucinogenic' drug. They cause changes in perception, thought, emotion and consciousness, altering your mind. Example:  LSD, Mushrooms

Opioids: Are made of extracts of poppy or opium. They decrease pain and sensation in the participant. Example: heroin, morphine, codeine, heroin and methadone. They are classed as narcotic analgesics - meaning they decrease pain reaction and sensation.

Common Drugs and their Side Effects

Cocaine: Cocaine a short acting but powerul drug upper drug. Cocaine comes in powder form, most commonly snorted it can also be injected (after being liquified) or smoked, known as crack. Cocaine is fast acting but the effects usually last only 30mins. One becomes more alert, your heart rate and pulse races, your pupils dilate, you may be hyperactive, you will sweat and your mouth may feel dry. Cocaine in long term uses often causes mood swings, digestive problems, heart issues. It may even cause a person to become violent and sexually aroused. Overdoses can bring on heart attacks, strokes or epileptic fit. Cocaine is an expensive drug, due to its high value and the short life span of the high. Cocaine comes from the coca plant and is often cut would other 'fillers' even things such as baking soda which means every dealer may have a different combinations. Cocaine is extremely addictive and hard to withdraw from. Cocaine comes by many names: coke, blow, snow, tokoyo, crack.

Ecstasy: Comes in pill form but can be crushed to be snorted. Ecstasy takes longer to work than other drugs (20-70 minutes). The high can last from anywhere to 2-6 hours. Esctasy brings on a euphoric high that can make sensations and emotions more intense. Heart rate, temperature and blood pressure go up, causing nausea and in some cases hallucinations. People may sweat, experience dry mouth, heightened sense of anxiety, difficulty passing urine and experience a bout of depression known as a comedown. Ecstasy is also known as E, XTC, pills, yokes, MDMA, MD.

Methamphetamine: Another upper. It effects the central nervous system. Meth comes in many forms, rocks, pills and crystals. Meth is dissolvable in water or alcohol. It is odourless and tastes bitter. Meth can be smoked, snorted, injected or swallowed. The effects last between 4 to 12 hours. Meth gives the user a feeling of adrenaline, causing euphoria, arousal. Meth also causes compulsive behaviour, a lack of appetite, rapid breathing, nausea, panic attacks, paranoia, hallucinations and psychosis. Meth rots teeth causing long time users a spate of dental issues. Meth is also known as crystal meth, yaba, chalk, glass, tina, chriostal, ice, crank, zip and christy.

Speed: Speed is a stimulant that comes as powder or tablet. Like other drugs it can be snorted, swallowed or injected. Speed comes as a pinkish or off-white powder. Speed can be rubbed onto gums and mixed into drinks. The affects start within 20 minutes, lasting up to 4-6 hours. Speed brings on energy, widened pupils, increased breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. It also brings on diarrhoea, teeth grinding, increased bladder use, sweating, headaches, and jaw clenching. Speed can make somebody more active, talkative but they can also become more aggressive, more irritable, depressed and suffer bouts of psychosis. A user can build up a tolerance meaning they have to use a higher dose to feel the same effects. Speed is also known as phet, billy, whiz, sulph, base.

Ketamine: Ketamine is actually an anaesthetic used in medicine. Ketamine is a dissociative and psychedelic drug. People feel detached when using it, relaxed and euphoric. Ketamine comes in white powder, pills and if taken from a medical source, liquid. Ketamine can be snorted, swallowed (wrapped in cigarette paper), mixed into drinks and injected. Some users have hallucinations. A user may suffer stomach cramps, vomit and issues with coordination. Ketamine is also known as K, Ket, Special K, Horse Tranquiliser, Vitamin K.

Cannabis: Cannabis comes from the cannabis plant. Depending on how the plant is grown, it can have different levels of potency. Cannabis comes in many forms. Cannabis resin/hash (is a black or brown lump formed from the resin of the cannabis plant. It is comes in blocks.) Herbal cannabis/grass / weed (made from the dried leaves and flowering parts of the female parts of the plant. It is often smoked). Cannabis oils (is oil extracted from the plant, sold in droppers, syringes or capsules). ‘Shatter’ (cannabis extracted using a solvent. This produces a glass-like substance which is smoked in a pipe), Edibles (food products infused with cannabis such as baked goods or sweets). Cannabis is commonly smoked, the ground dried leaves rolled with cigarette papers in a joint. Effects start instantaneously when it is inhaled. Ingesting cannabis leads to a delay in effects. Cannabis gives the user a sense of calm and relaxation, giddiness, bloodshot eyes, dry mouth, increased appetite, paranoia, mood swings, mild hallucinations, troubles with coordination and memory and in some cases psychosis. However, cannabis also has medical purposes such as helping with anxiety, act as pain relief and help with nausea. Cannabis is legal in some countries. Cannabis has many nicknames: weed, hash, hashish, weed,  pot, ganja, grass, bush, herb, puff, spliff

Magic Mushrooms: Magic mushrooms are certain breeds of mushroom that when ingested cause a high. Mushrooms are usually sold dried and raw or in liquid fom or capsules. Mushrooms can be eaten or stewed in tea. Effects vary from types of mushroom or personal factors, usually beginning an hour after ingestion. Mushrooms distort sensations, giving the set feelings of giddiness, euphoria, energy, joy. It can also cause the user to lose track on time. Mushrooms can cause stomach discomfort, nausea, sweating followed by chills. Also known as mushies, shrooms. liberties, liberty caps, magics, golden teachers, truffles, fly agaric,

LSD: LSD is a hallucinogenic drug, coming from a fungus known as ergot which grows on grasses such as rye. LSD usually comes as a piece of paper to be ingested or sucked. Effects begin about a half hour and can last up to 20 hours. LSD causes distortion of senses, hallucinations , paranoia, thoughts of suicide, effects on judgement, delusion. It is known as acid, L, lightening flash, blotter, dots, flash, hawk, cheer, liquid acid, lucy, micro dot, trips, tabs.

Codeine: Codeine is a painkiller widely available through doctors and over the counter in tablets, liquid or capsules. It is an opiate. Short term effects are relaxation, effected temperature, confusion, dry mouth, pinpoint pupils, itchiness and issues breathing. Longer term effects can cause breathing problems, constipation, low sex drive, irregular periods and liver issues.

Methadone: Not to be confused with Methamphetamine. Methadone comes as a blue/green liquid. Methadone is often prescribed by doctors to help heroin users manage their cravings. Methadone causes slower breathing, pain relief, drowsiness, dry mouth, lower blood pressure, constipation, pinpoint pupils, sweating, itching, pain in the joints, dental issues. Like some drugs, a user can build up a tolerance which can encourage them to use higher doses. Alcohol is extremely dangerous when mixed with methadone. Known juice and phy.

Heroin: Heroin is an opiate. It acts a sedative. Heroin comes as a powder, usually brown or white. Heroin can be injected, snorted or smoked. Effects start quickly usually lasting for hours. Heroin can give the user a sense of security, pinpoint pupils, dramatic mood swings, relief to pain, nausea, lack of appetite, lower sex drive, constipation, drowsiness and effects breathing. Like some other drugs, you build a tolerance, so users take more and more to reach the high, which often leads to overdose especially if the user has been clean for a while. Heroin is dangerous when other factors such as alcohol is involved. Heroin also wreaks the cough reflex which can cause a person to choke. Heroin is known as H, smack, gear, skag, junk, brown, china white, dragon.

blorbo question: what kinds of drugs do you think ed would be into? which ones would help him and which ones would make him feel worse?

Ok so I project onto Ed so this might be colored by my own drug experiences, but I'll do my best. I'll tell you generally what I think he'd like and the I'll put up a cut and go through all the ones I've done and tell you how I think Ed would be on them.

General before I get into specifics. Canonically he uses stimulants during the Kraken era and weed socially. However I do kinda feel like Rhino Horn is not his favorite drug just the most manageable way to get a hit of endorphins while also being able to oversee raids so he can break Ned Lowe's record. I am biased because I'm a psychedelic enjoyer, but Ed's a pretty confident guy who doesn't really second guess himself until after he acts (lbr the man did not second guess fucking knife parade for like multiple years and he doesn't apologize). Of course he also hates himself but I don't think that makes him not confident, which being confident and not immediately second guessing yourself is a great personality for producing good hallucinogenic experiences. Hallucinogens are usually great if you're not afraid of them. And I also think that Ed wants to be taken out of his life for a little bit and hallucinogens are conducive to that. I think he and Jack probably did a bit of P&P back in the day and I think ecstasy was probably their favorite because Jack is a tweaker and Ed is a psychedelics guy. Now that he and Stede are together he's doing poppers.

Onto specifics. What makes him better, what makes him worse

Ok here's the drugs I have experience with: Meth, Mushrooms, Weed, Coke, LSD, GHB, and DMT. So I'll just give you those.

Let's start with coke and weed because we have canon evidence for those.

Cocaine Rhino Horn- ok so for me personally coke kinda ain't shit. It's the best stimulant by far (ecstasy is a stimulant/hallucinogen so I'm not counting it because it's also something else) but it's still just sort of me but faster. I've said many a time that Coke is my ADHD meds but horny and Meth is like my ADHD meds but evil. I can drive on the shit literally better than I drive sober because I am less distracted. And before someone accuses me of micro dosing I can pack the shit away, I do twice as much as whoever I'm with and get half as high, every ounce of coke ive ever done was waisted on me. I have fun on it it's not a bad feeling but I it's like if coffee was poppers rather than a real drug. I think Ed probably has a similar experience here with being relatively coherent because we see him doing raids while high on the stuff. I think coke is giving him that little euphoria bump he needs to be passively suicidal instead of actively suicidal and not much else. Anyway I think given how hangry Ed gets meth would make him worse in every conceivable way. Meth also makes me more focused so I think he would invent some diabolical scheme and it would be a genuinely good one and then he would also lose his fucking mind and pulverize the next thing to surprise him after not eating for 18 hours (imagine the snake scene from 1x07 but on... Well on meth I guess) and cry because he is so so tired.
