wait please tell me about the trials and tribulations of how radiofish got together, I'm curious now

BOY HOWDY OKAY IM GONNA TRY SO HARD TO BE NORMAL ABT THIS BUT DKDBSKDBSNDHSKDHSJ ALSO IM AT WORK AND THEREFORE ON A TIME CRUNCH DKFHSKDBSKXBSKXBSJXH it took me all day to finish this oops djfbskdbsksn

ok so to start, radiofish is actually the combination of oriental radio (oriraji) (comedy duo) and fishboy (breakdancer). oriraji's nakata atsuhiko is the big brother of fishboy, and they started collaborating just before the release of PERFECT HUMAN. this was a part of nakata atsuhiko's three phase plan for making it big -- first was their first big break that happened upon their debut, with their rhythm skits they called "buyuuden". second was when fujimori shingo (the other half of oriraji) debuted his "charao" personality. and third was using 8.6 byou bazooka's viral rhythm skit to then boost themselves into the PERFECT HUMAN phase.

but i digress.

the trials and tribulations began right from oriraji's debut, from their big break with buyuuden. they were so immensely popular, but behind the scenes fujimori and nakata were basically at each other's throats. nakata wrote the skits, told fujimori what to do and say, and as their popularity grew, so did his arrogance. naturally fujimori felt resentment, but also knew that nakata's confidence was not misplaced -- he was v intelligent and graduated from a prestigious university. meanwhile fujimori came from a family of farmers out in the countryside and could not help but feel inferior.

meanwhile, nakata struggled to connect w their peers and senpai in the comedy field, which was something that fujimori was inherently good at.

this obviously sparked jealousy and resentment and disdain, and with such feelings becoming mutual, it led to discord between nakata and fujimori, to the point that they infamously had a physical fistfight during a live radio show they were guests on.

as the hype around buyuuden died down and there was outside pressure for them to prove themselves to be "real comedians" and try out the traditional style of comedy (manzai), they faded a little from the forefront of the comedy scene (subsequently losing their 3 prime time tv shows they had within a year)

it wasn't until fujimori's "charao" personality took off through his collaborations with ayaman japan that oriraji experienced their second big break. his whole thing became playing the lighthearted, chill, almost-womanizer type of guy, and it was hugely popular. he was featured in commercials and for a while he had a lot more solo gigs as "charao" than they had as oriraji. during this period nakata was essentially left out of the spotlight, and it was a bit of a turning point for the duo...

with the rise in their popularity, they were called in for many tv shows, one of which had them write an exchange journal where they took turns reflecting on their years as a comedy duo and it allowed them to be more honest about their own insecurities, their fears. they moved forward together, eventually bringing back rhythm skits when they decided that they didnt have anything to prove, but the skits themselves were in a new style. they were more music focused, and began to both poke fun at their tumultuous past together, as well as excessively praise nakata for very silly things.

around that same time, 8.6 byou bazooka got their big break with a rhythm skit of their own, and nakata saw a golden opportunity there -- at an event they were at together, he and fujimori performed 8.6 byou bazooka's skit, and it went viral.

it renewed the public interest in oriraji and their buyuuden, which nakata rewrote to poke fun at the fact that oriraji themselves copied another rhythm skit to get another big break.

and then they added on musical/dance performance at the end of their new skit, featuring an original song that fujimori wrote and they sang together.

since then, radiofish has held live performances, sold merch, had pop up shops, as they also continue to be featured on comedy shows. they continue to release music, their most recent single having come out in february of this year.

they released a handful of songs, but the most prominent one -- the one that was featured on that year's red and white song festival which is broadcast nationwide -- was PERFECT HUMAN.

written (in one night at nakata's request no less!) and sung by fujimori and performed by fishboy's dance group, it continued to excessively praise nakata as being the "perfect human" and comparing him to god and it also went viral. they even made a music video that was modeled after the great gatsby.

nakata and fujimori seem to be on overall far better terms and id like to think theyre long past any sort of lingering resentment, but also... a couple of years ago(?) oriraji very abruptly left their management company (yoshimoto) and it came out afterwards that it was a decision that nakata made and didnt necessarily discuss it with fujimori beforehand, which. was an issue...

to my knowledge they both mainly guest star on tv shows, but also nakata has been focusing on his youtube channel where he makes? informational/educational(?) videos... fujimori has been releasing his own original songs on his youtube channel.

i feel like im leaving a lot out but this is already longer than i meant it to be when i first started answering this -- its taken me all day to type all this out so ill leave it here.

I love the original TFP dub but I also dig the Japanese version! I often enjoy comparing the differences between them!

A lot of popular voice actors in Japan participate in the show. Some of them even did voices in the “BEAST WARS” series, which had a big fanbase in my country.

The biggest difference between the original and the Japanese version is that the latter makes a few adjustments to the characters to make them more distinctive and child-friendly. They even added some comical lines that weren’t in the original to make it more mild and relatable for children. Because the original had some pretty serious moments. So in the Japanese version, Starscream and Airachnid turned out to be the funniest characters…

Similarly, “BEAST WARS” also underwent some comical changes for similar reasons. And because of that, the show was a hit with Japanese kids back in the day. So in TFP, I'd say they also gave a nod to fans who grew up watching it.

But as you can imagine, these changes have divided opinions among fans in Japan. Tbh, I understand how both of them feel about it because I love the original vibes! That being said, the Japanese dub has a lot of adorable moments that don’t exist in the original version! Let me pick up MY BOY BREAKDOWN as an example!!!!

He has a funny childish demeanor and talks more than in the original dub. His favorite phrase is “壊すの大好き!(I love breaking things!)”

In “Deus Ex Machina,” the episode of his first appearance, he says, “あーーーごめーーーーん！！(AAAHHH I’M SOOOORYYYYYY!!!)” to Knock Out when he accidentally hits his partner's face with his hammer!

In the next episode, “Speed Metal,” when Starscream scratches Knock Out’s paint as a punishment, Breakdown breaks the fourth wall and speaks to kids in front of the TV, saying “みんなぁ！ いじめはダメだぞぉ！(HEY YOU GUYS!! BULLYING IS WRONG!!)” AWW IT'S SO ADORABLE!! HES 100% A NICE GUY lmao

And surprisingly, he even sings a song sometimes... If you don't believe me, please check out “T.M.I” and “Operation Bumblebee part 2” 🥺

And Our Knock Out is even more of a narcissist than in the original. He always praises himself for how beautiful he is. He usually uses polite Japanese when talking to others, but sometimes he talks to Breakdown casually! I love how the difference in his behavior signifies that Breakdown is special to him as a friend! ( ꈍᴗꈍ) <3

In addition, the voices of Optimus and Megatron both sound younger than in the original! On the other hand, Bulkhead sounds older than in the English version. That's interesting! Oh, and did you know? Wheeljack speaks just like a samurai! This change is probably due to his two-sword style.

I especially love Japanese Ratchet. The voice actor is Nobuo Tobita, who has played many TF characters until now. His voice is really soft and gentle! Besides, he also voiced Scourge in Rise of the Beasts! Wow, he has a wide range of acting! I’m a long-time fan of his!

Oh, speaking of ROTB, let me mention Japanese Mirage’s voice actor, Shingo Fujimori! He’s a famous comedian, and his comedy style is acting like a player and a party person (or someone like that… it’s difficult to explain). He shouts things like “YOOO! GIRL, YOU’RE SO PURDYYY!” So he really fits the character of Mirage!

Oh! And you listened to “TRANSFORMERZ” by M-flo? I like the song too! The original opening theme of TFP is magnificent, so you all might be surprised at the gap between them, but such an anime style is not bad, right? It's interesting how we find different styles in different countries!Unfortunately, the show was only broadcast in Japan up to seasons 2. I wish I could have seen the entire series dubbed in Japanese...😭

Usagi : All his belongings. You mean, he's not gonna be here in that house forever. So does this mean he'll never come back?

Ikuko : That's what I thought. Although, these incidents of dragging the Sailor Scouts like you are always a trap for thugs that men has committed a sin and I dearly paid my respects to Urameshi. With Shingo passed away, Guess I am the only one that will ever look after you and I will look after the house. I...I'm sorry.

Homura Akemi : This is the creature that burned down your world. So I understand that the great cataclysm in shinra's world was only an attempt to give birth this giant flame creature that brought devastation to your world and Mephiles as well. Demon Vibe couldn't take his creation no any longer, so he ordered Shinra destroyed and made Amaterasu give birth to his son.

Shadow : Wait. Demon Vibe ordered Shinra to destroy his creation. He must've set Shinra set up to make it look like he defeated god. But to tell truth by that, there were no gods in the Ohkuboverse. They were all make believes in one's story, a story that is false to the real world.

Sonic : And I'm pretty sure that Time Whatchamacallit destroyed 50% of the Ohkuboverse and exterminated everyone including Shinra and lover Iris.

Homura Akemi : Don't worry! I got this! Alright, tough guy. You wanna play rough? I'll play it rough!

Sonic : You sure you got this? But is there somewhere to draw him in? We're only on foothoolds so this is a dangerous battle!

Homura Akemi : Nonsense! I got this! You'll see that a fire monster can't eve beat a singular girl like me and time there's no way he'll never stop me.

(Scene flips)

Homura Akemi : Yep. I had to beat him down! Told you I can do it! Well the name is very Islamic so I intended to do so. Not to mention it, Islam is not my cup of tea for Iblis to be in it.

If I am facing Eggman in Sonic's world and if he is facing Eggman Nega in my world, I just believe that I got our archenemeis mixed up. So whatever, I will eventually meet Silver one day in the future 200 years. This should be interesting! (runs faster)

Sakuma Daisuke, member of Johnny's idol group Snow Man, put together his autumn couples outfit based on Prince of Tennis and his favorite character Atobe Keigo in Sore Snow Man ni Yarasetekudasai. He's usually sporting pink hair, but for this segment he dyed his hair black and got a haircut so he'd have the same hair as Atobe's.😂

He chose to go with a tennis outfit with racket and all even though he doesn't actually play the sport so the judges and all the people who ranked below him were a bit put off.😂 Luckily for him, the judging was purely based on the outfit itself, otherwise the judges changed his rank to last place.
