Fun fact about Frida (Rebel)

Frida is the younger triplets with Donnie and Leo.

She a map turtle and wears a green bandanna with a bow at the end. Miwa was the one that put on her bandanna.

Her nippo is illusion. During the started of the series, she only able to create illusion of others but later can change the scenery. (It’s similar to Gus illusion from The Owl House.)

Instead of her being Big Mama’s assistant, she’s actually Olivier’s assistant.

She lived most of her childhood in the street of the Hidden City before Olivier hired her.

Frida went by Rebel before finding out her real name is Frida.

She has a burn scar on her right lower face she got when the lab burned.

Frida has selective mutism, when she does speak it would be in other people voices.

She has a mimicking skills, she can change her voice to others and make sounds. It was a skill she developed to survive in the street of the Hidden City.

Thanks to both Mona and Olivier, they found out Frida was the boys long lost sister before they even knew they had a sister. Frida chose to tell them when she was ready. (Still trying to figure how they found out).

Donnie is book smart, Leo is social smart, and Frida is street smart.

Frida considered Mona and Olivier as her big sisters and Leatherhead as her father figure.

What's your fav Hilda episode?

It’s GOTTA be The Forgotten Lake. It’s got adorable mother/daughter bonding, endless amounts of trauma, badass Johanna, BLOOD ⁉️

Pre-Season 3 though, I love The Tide Mice. It’s such a fun concept, it has a partial focus on Johanna, and we get to see David singing !!! The Troll Rock also holds a special place in my heart because it’s the first episode where we get to see Johanna interact with people other than Hilda and kind of see her personality outside of being a mother — it’s the episode where we learn her name !

Just y'know, from a 90s weeb standpoint who saw how fucking obsessed U.S media was with ninja in the 80s and 90s, the earlier TMNT could have stood to be MORE ninja. The newer iterations kinda sorta have gotten "more ninja" instead of generic milk chocolate martial arts with a shiny ninja candy coating

Frida, Jennika, and Venus

So I got an idea for a couple of characters to add to Frida's universe, partly to flesh the world out more and partly so she has some friends in her home universe who can keep up with all the Crazy.

We've got Ebony Medowfang, last of the Dragon Lords, and her adopted son Edwyn. Ebony's a Gnome while Edwyn's an animated skeleton who disguises himself as an animated scarecrow and is also a low-level Litch.

How does a Gnome become a Dragon Lord, you ask? Well, it's actually the other way around. See, around a hundred years ago, some group I can't be bothered to come up with a name for decided to kill all the Dragon Lords due to a combination of Xenophobia (the group was almost entirely human and Dragon Lords were, in fact, actual dragons) and fear of their power (physical, mystical, and political. the Lord part of the title wasn't just to sound impressive). They succeeded in wiping out the Dragon Lords (or near enough. the number of them who weren't confirmed killed is less than 20, and there's been no trace of those ones since) thanks to backing from somebody with True Power of their own who saw them as competition, and the non-lord dragons and other non-human sapients withdrew from the public eye for a time so they wouldn't be next on the chopping block, then the group collapsed in on itself within 30 years due to a combination of infighting and there being no more Dragon Lords to take out their Rageboners on.

Anyway, back to Ebony, she was not one of the ones who possibly went into hiding. She was killed, as was the small community of people who'd sworn fealty to her over her many long years, despite their best efforts to protect each other. Ebony's soul, heavy with grief, lingered in her broken fortress, and wasn't alone in that. Apparently a young stablehand (around 13, btw. yes those guys were fully willing to kill kids on their anti-dragon crusade) by the name of Edwyn was just plain too stubborn to stay dead and ended up possessing his own skeletonized corpse and becoming a Litch. Over the decades the two worked on building Edwyn's powers and finding the right ritual so they could bring Ebony back to life (Edwyn can't be properly resurrected, unfortunately. It's a Litch thing).

Eventually they managed it, but when they used it things went a bit awry because the ritual instructions neglected to mention that what species the blood came from would determine what species the new body would be, so now Ebony is a Gnome. She's still just as powerful mystically as she used to be and still has some very dragony traits, but she's been dead too long and looks too different to have any of her political influence anymore and is a tiny squishy (though admittedly surprisingly strong for her size (it's a Gnome Thing)) humanoid instead of a giant flying fire-breathing lizard. Also her hording instincts have been replaced by an insatiable desire to garden. Still, what's done is done and being someone almost entirely new will at least be a novel experience.

Anyway, the two wind up settling down in a cottage on the outskirts of Frida's village as a sort of semi-retirement a couple months after the universe's Activation. Ebony and Lokoko have met in the past once or twice and are largely on neutral terms, though Lokoko is a bit antsy having someone so Powerful in the Old Ways living so close to her kingdom's borders (and even closer to her daughter.)

For Frida's part, she was suspicious of them at first, but that's a bit like saying water is wet.

I currently have no idea if they're canon to the extended world of Beneath the Faerie Mound of if they're Grid OCs that got retconned in, but either way they aren't aware of the whole computer thing until they're told about it.

Daysworn lore pt I Don’t Even Know (7878)

The brunette in the photos above is Frida Holmes, Adrianas best friend/lover. They met when Adriana was 13 & Frida was 14. The pair would be together constantly, however, the two began developing feelings for each other about six months into their friendship. Eventually, Adriana confessed her love to Frida and they began dating. However, about three years into the relationship, Adriana was going through some tough times at home, and to cope, she confided in Frida, she suggested that the two run away together, start a new life with each other. Their plan, however, was a failure, and Judas (adrianas father) threatened “If i see you with that little lover of yours again, she will not live another day” Adriana didn’t believe that he had three guts to go through with it, so she continued seeing her, however, on one cold Thursday afternoon, when Adriana went out to meet with Frida, she found her corpse, laying atop the very bench that they had their first kiss on.

Sometimes when looking at the history of Mattel and a variety of modern releases, it's hard to know whether to be critical of Mattel. Mattel are obviously aware that Barbie, while maintaining incredible popularity, has a controversial history for whatever that has meant over the years - overly sexual, bad role model for girls, racist Barbies, gay Ken, puberty Skipper, ableist Dreamhouse, and so on. Not to mention things that look strange to us from a modern perspective but which don't seem to have gotten much pushback at the time -- did we need a collection of four Barbies who served in Desert Storm?!

So when they do something to step out of their reputation and do something positive and towards good representation, should we be critical of it as a PR move from a huge corporation, or should we accept it and celebrate it as a step in the right direction?

I don't have an answer to that, I just wanted to give a prelude to talking about the Barbie "Inspiring Women" set.

The Inspiring Women series is a similar but distinct line from the Mattel Sheroes and the Mattel Role Models lines. The Inspiring Women series celebrates women from history who are household names with dolls in their likeness released. And credit to Mattel - they have chosen a variety of women to celebrate (though of course, when we say household name, that's typically from an American perspective, so the majority of them are either American or at least very well-known in America). Besides the four shown above, there are also Barbies for Billie Jean King, Helen Keller, Jane Goodall, Eleanor Roosevelt, and many others.

On the other hand, Sheroes and Role Models are limited releases or one of a kind dolls to celebrate individual women who are typically still alive to be involved in the celebration.

For example, Ita Buttrose was the first woman to edit a major metropolitan newspaper in Australia, but did you know she has a Barbie?

Or what about Polish hammer thrower Anita Włodarczyk?

OKAY OKAY SO GUYS

I woke up today and went "Im gonna develop Dr.Julien from the TIP AU" and i did just that

So, before i paste the summary i made, heres some context for those that havent seen the previous lore posts im going to link at the bottom of the post:

The AU's name is Tale of the Ice Prince, or TIP for short. The AU revolves around Zane, who is a prince in the Never-Realm. He lost his memories of his time with Dr.Julien and the mans formling friend, Eleanor(and Eleanors non-formling daughter, Frida.)

Eventually, Zane meets some prisoners in the castle dungeon, the Ninja. And after a few life-threatening events, he decides to go with his new friends to Ninjago.

Now as for Dr.Julien. Julien can travel between realms, but i never really knew how...until today!

In my AU, Dragons and Oni can travel realms. The reason the Oni from s10 couldnt come back was because they were trapped/binded to a realm using what i call an ensnarement spell.

Now, how does this relate to Julien i hear you ask? Well, hes an Oni too! Like Mystake in this AU, he escaped being trapped, and both of them went their separate ways, hoping to live a regular life.

Julien found his love for technology, but he was also very, very lonely. So like in canon, he made Zane! And they both travelled realms together as father and son, eventually meeting Eleanor and Frida.

Now, for the summary of the new lore:

Dr.Julien and Zane go to the workshop in Ninjago birchwood for the weekend to relax, The Skulkin who(by Garmadons orders) have been spying on Julien and Zane during their visits to Ninjago, kidnap Zane(the Skulkin really like kidnapping people huh LMAO) and use him as leverage against Dr.Julien.

Julien and the Skulkin argue, and after alot of aggressive suggestions as Zane watches in horror, they settle on a deal.

Zane loses his memories, but Julien can send Zane to a different realm before they finish an ensnarement spell that will stop Dr.Julien from travelling realms.

He complies as the Skulkin turn off Zanes memory switch(much to the nindroids extremely panicked protest) and throw him down so Julien can send him away(with threats related to Dr.Julien trying to escape).

Zane is sent to the Never-Realm in hopes that Eleanor or Frida will find him. As for Dr.Julien, the ensnarement spell is completed, and Julien is transferred to the lighthouse, guarded by a sea monster. His skills are used to upgrade the Skulkins realm crossing vehicles and make them new weapons.

I’m thinking to writing a short skit based on my favorite scene from “Too Wong Foo, Thank You for Everything! Julie Newmar.”

It’s going to be Olivier, Mona, Rebel (Frida) and the Mud Dogs.

i've been thinking about what andrale and celyn are doing and whether they're even alive during veilguard and i think i've finally figured it out.. i don't think andrale would leave to seek a cure for the taint. she struggled against her fate for so long and was incredibly bitter about being conscripted but eventually made peace with it. she cheated death once thanks to morrigan but knows her days are numbered nevertheless and decides to value whatever time the ritual gave her. after the events of awakening she remains the warden-commander but since the blight is over she isn't needed on active duty. so she often leaves vigil's keep to travel or to stay with her clan or whatever but always comes back to ensure the wardens are well and to help train recruits and all that. leaving everyone and everything behind to go on an expedition in the far west searching for a cure that may or may not exist would go against all her development i think. when her calling comes she will go peacefully knowing she lived a meaningful life and made the most of what time she had :) i think she will be somewhat relieved as well. even though she learns to enjoy life again she will always carry the horrors of the blight with her and it will never be the same and she would never be the same even if she was cured. she is a warden and a warden's end is the only end for her!

celyn on the other hand. she is never satisfied she always wants more. she's very eager to join the wardens despite andrale's warnings that the joining could be fatal and that even if she survives being a warden is essentially a slow death. celyn is like yea whatever it beats going back to the circle so she chugs the darkspawn blood, survives, and joins the wardens. at some point andrale assigns celyn to assist avernus with his research and has her take over after avernus passes away. the reality of being a grey warden soon hits celyn and she reallyyyyy doesn't want to die an early death after finally getting out of the circle. so she pores over avernus' writings and figures out how to slow the decay of her body with blood magic the way he had. but it's not enough because even avernus succumbed to the taint eventally. and celyn doesn't want that for herself. where andrale is focused on what is celyn is more interested in what could be... and the taint could be cured maybe... so celyn is the one who decides to take things even further. she is determined to prolong her lifespan by any means and willing to risk everything for the chance to permanently cure the taint!!
