Heyo, think this is a really good question and important one to share. I've been a part of fandoms for 10+ years now, some more actively while others just being a lurker. And some important things to remember about being in fandoms:

It is always okay to take breaks from fandoms socially or fully. Take the break you need and come back when you want, fandoms don't 'die'. You can grab those blorbos anytime you want. :)

You don't have to be social or vocal in a fandom to be a part of it, just as long as you enjoy it you are a part of it!

No one can tell you you have to stay in 1 fandom or can't join others for xyz reason. Go around, see the world of fandoms! Fall in love with old or new media and sob about some new beans.

On that regard, doesn't matter the 'age' of the fandom, if it interests you then look into it, make content and enjoy it! Go crazy, go wild! :DDD

Sometimes you might not see as many people interacting with you at first when you flop around fandoms if you were a part of 1 for awhile, that can happen when you go around to a new fandom. You go some more people will come and interact.

Never feel you have to stick to fandoms forever or that is your only option. You can start and do original work whenever you want, yes again you may see less interaction but do it for you. Work on what makes you happy, get passionate and love your hard work! 💖

I've seen many points that people bring up, posts about these problems across plenty platforms about fandoms, and even at my lower points I struggle with them myself. But sometimes you just need to hear it and tell yourself again. At the end of the day it's about having fun for you and enjoying something that makes you happy.
