Spending the Holidays with Slashers & Misc.
(I was having trouble posting this so it's a bit late. I also might make a pt.2 if I can think of more things)
Tumblr media
Michael Myers
Doesn't acknowledge it as a real holiday.
Get's pissy because everyone leaves home to go on vacation and there's no one to kill.
As soon as one kid mistakes him for a pale Santa he just heads home and calls it a night.
Billy Loomis
Spends the night before Christmas stressing out trying to figure out how to wrap a present(So does Stu by affiliation)
When you come downstairs in the morning you can tell which present is yours because there's a copious layer of tape around each box.
Stu also abought you a basketball so don't even ask how he wrapped that.
Hannibal Lecter
As soon as it hits December 1st, the house is decorated head to toe in Christmas decorations.
Best believe there will be Rum cake and a lot of it because he started making it in January.
Doesn't do ugly sweaters.
Has never watched the Grinch and doesn't plan to.
Bo Sinclair
Wraps a bow around his beer and calls it a day. (Just kidding)
Spends all of Christmas day baking a ham that he's been dreaming about since February. (Even though he bought the ingredients last second)
Doesn't know what to get you for Christmas so while he's at the store doing last-second shopping he buys you your favorite drink and a card with a duck dressed as Santa on it.
Brahms Heelshire
Wakes you up in the morning with a very special breakfast. (It's a pb&j with a glass of milk except there wasn't enough milk so it's half water and half milk)
Still thinks that Santa is real.
Patrick Bateman
Forces you to wear matching pajamas and do a photo shoot with him to send out to everyone because "you're such a loving couple!"(Forgets to book a photographer and ends up having to get it done in a Kohls)
For Christmas he buys you a set of your very own business cards that say "Patrick Bateman's wife, Y/N" on them and a bottle sugar-free champagne. (He's so proud of himself for this gift btw)
Lady Dimitrescu
She's a girl mom to the max, meaning everyone is getting presents in perfectly wrapped paper with a cute note in cursive saying how much she loves you.
100% would sit back with a glass of wine while watching everyone open their presents.
Heisenberg
He makes a tree out of metal scraps and wakes you up by shouting, "Hey! Watch this!" as he electrocutes the entire tree, causing the very wooden ground underneath it to catch on fire.
Claims that the Lycans still believe in Santa.
Has them dress up in elf suits and has them run around the entire village harassing Miranda and the rest of his siblings.
Carlos Oliveira
Buys 400$ worth of Chinese food and calls in sick for the next week because of it.
He's the type of person who would send a video of himself singing "It's Timeee~" to the entire group chat at 12am on Christmas Day.
Sends out a calendar for the New Year to the ENTIRE company except every month is a different photo of him. (HR has gotten involved but they have yet to stop him)
Leon Kennedy
Says that he doesn't like Christmas and that it's his least favorite holiday. (Liar)
Tries spiked eggnog and sugar cookies for the first time and then it all changes.
Shows up to the station wearing a new ugly Christmas sweater each day(Somehow he gets Carlos and Chris in on it too).
Brings candy canes with him when he goes out on patrol to hand out to kids.
Hellboy
Spends his holiday rewatching the original Grinch and going shopping in World Market. (I feel like he'd love Marzipan and Fruit Cake)
Every Christmas he always buys everyone in the Bureau (besides Myers) their favorite bar of chocolate and hands them out at the annual Christmas party.
He's also made it a thing where he dresses up as Santa and goes to the Psych ward to visit the patients(and sometimes Liz).

Good morning RTA
I love you blog i learn a lot about how everything works about rumours and pr. i learn something new everyday. thank you
(Also, i enjoy the messyness with the suxx because they give me the chance to learn from their mistakes haha)
but i want to know if there is a book you can suggest or recommend about communication, PR and/or politics? i want to learn more about that. seeing everything about them and how they play with the media help me to learn in real time And i want to learn more about that.
and if you can give any tips about this topic i will really appreciate
thank you
Ask from August 7th
So I’ve sat on this post for awhile, trying to think of resources to share and unfortunately, anon, I’m coming up blank. I’m going to babble for a bit and hopefully some ideas or recommendations will come to me
I didn’t read any books or get a formal education on this. A lot of what I know about PR and media comes from being online, watching things happen, and a curiosity to dig when things don’t match up or there’s way too much coverage than normal.
I should probably disclose here that I’m a millennial who came of age on the internet in the TMZ/Perez Hilton-Britney/Lindsay/Paris-Bennifer-Brangelina-TomKat era of the mid-00s, which is when celebrity PR as we consider it today started and where I learned a lot about celebrity PR management and media relations. I don’t know if or where an equivalent culture might exist today - I thought maybe Travis and Taylor, but it’s not as lawless, if you will, the way it was back in the 00s.
So first, if you’re in college or you’re working somewhere with a training program, definitely consider taking classes on communications and marketing. You’ll learn a lot there and some of it may be relevant to understanding PR. Particularly with communications, you’ll also want to read up on nonverbal communications (and if you’re working somewhere that gives you free training, you can even do this on work time!) as that’s half the battle with PR, as we see all the time from the Sussexes - if you’re verbally telling one story but your body language and your behavior tells a different one, you got a credibility issue.
I do read a lot of political memoirs and nonfiction so that’s an option too. If you go this way, you’ll have to read from all walks of political affiliation. Meaning if you’re a left-leaning liberal, you need to read books or articles from the right/conservative side and vice versa. The goal here isn’t to change your political beliefs but to recognize media spin. How a liberal sees something will be very different from how a moderate sees it which is different from how a conservative see it, and they’ll all spin the facts differently. If/when you do this, then focus on what’s the same and what’s different in each story.
(To figure out where a media company or publication is in terms of political affiliation, check out this website. It tracks media bias and I find it to be pretty consistent. The tool doesn’t work as well on mobile as it does on desktop - you might have to download an app for mobile access. And also, most of the publications being tracked by the company are English-speaking publications. If that isn’t relevant to you, then definitely consider doing your own research into any media bias oversight in your own country.)
If you have three different stories on the same thing from three different affiliations (say the Daily Mail, who’s very conservative/right-leaning; NPR, who’s close to the center/moderate; and Mother Jones, who’s very liberal/left if politics or CondeNast, Dotdash Meredith and Hearst if entertainment, for example) - the things that are the same in each story are the facts that are most likely to be true and consistent. The things that are different in each story is the PR gamesmanship and the spin.
It’s not always that easy, though, because the tricky part is that modern PR and media relations usually involves sending a press release out en masse to everyone and everyone publishes it. The key to figuring out if that’s what is what’s happening here is to look at who’s publishing and the content. If the stories all use similar or identical language, it’s a widely-distributed press release copypasted to the internet. If the stories are appearing in publications that have the same corporate owner (like Murdoch or Condé Nast, for example) but the language varies, that’s also a widely-distributed press release likely the result of a PR rep’s deal with the corporate company.
Now getting back to the political nonfiction - what I like to do is compare what’s being described in the book with how it was covered by the press. And by doing that, you can usually start picking out what was PR and what was real. I will warn you, it’s not always easy. But it does get easier the more you do this. And it doesn’t even have to be political memoirs. It can be history books. It can be celebrity biographies. It can be magazine articles or newspaper stories. Anything non-fiction where you can compare stories and coverage will work for this.
Specifically for the Sussexes, Plant’s archive is really good, especially in the 2016-2017 time. If/when you have time, go check her archive out and just read through everything. I made a list for Empress once with a bunch of important Plant stories that might help you narrow things down — I’ll dig that up soon and repost it.
If you do want to continue dabbling in Sussex/BRF PR since you’re already aware of that, it may be an easy way to dip your foot into the “PR analysis” pool. The best way to do that is start reading books and comparing what’s written in the books with the narratives you already know and are familiar with. Maybe start with Tom Bower’s Revenge or Valentine Low’s Courtiers (they’re not as sugary).
Oh! I just thought of something! Look up PR experts on social media or influencers who do deep dives into celebrity culture and follow them. The really good ones will explain what they see and walk you through their processes to teach you how to do this yourself.
I quit TikTok a couple months ago but a few accounts I still remember:
Molly McPherson - PR expert and celebrity crisis management.
Jalen - he’s an Aussie lawyer that got big during the Depp-Heard trial for how he covered it. His account is mostly legal coverage but his work on the Depp-Heard trial can teach a lot about celebrity crisis management. I don’t remember his last name but if you google the Depp-Heard trial and TikTok, he’ll probably pop up.
Chris - I don’t remember his name or his account but on TikTok, he does huge deep dives into celebrity scandals and controversies. He did a series on Kelly Clarkson, her ex-husband, and their divorce that went into a lot of great detail on what happened and the PR around it.
I hope this gives you something to start with, anon!
And if anyone else has any resources for the anon to learn about PR and communications, please put them in the comments!

Hiiii 🥰, how do you make money through Pinterest? I downloaded your recent ebook called the M3 and I was interested to know how you eventually started bringing in money after gaining the monthly views ect ect...
hi pretty!
Thank you so much for downloading the M3 I highly appreciate the support, mwah ! xoxo
The M3 is a mini guide to help you learn how to gain an audience specifically on Pinterest although you can implement the same strategies on any social media platform of your choice, I only chose Pinterest as the main topic, because it's where I have more experience.
Now, the Digital Dollar, my previous E Book, is what answers your question. It goes in depth on how you actually start making money once you have an audience. It teaches you all the steps and it gives and shows you different ways of making money. Since I released the Digital Dollar before the M3, I had included some tips on how to grow an audience in the Digital Dollar aswell.
I started out with affiliate marketing. In short, I joined multiple affiliate programs and advertised their products on my platform (aka Pinterest) and everytime someone purchased the product through my link, I earned a small commission... my first affiliate program was Amazon Associates, which is very common to start of with in affiliate marketing, then i joined Digistore24, ShareAsale( i do not recommend these program AT ALL ) and then I joined a small clothing brands affiliate programs.
Now when it comes to affiliate marketing, this is a great place to start off when beginning to make money through social media, you learn and pick up a few useful skills, but it doesn't bring in a lot of money unless you're in probably like a thousand affiliate programs and if you were, it would no longer be considered a side hustle as you would need to devote a lot of time to achieve success in this. So once my Pinterest reached 1M, I began to seek other digital opportunities and widened my brand to other platforms ( Tumblr ) . Instagram and TikTok will be my next platforms to experiment on.
Feel free to check out www.thedigitaldollar/gumroad.com, it will give you the answer you're looking for and more.
if you need anymore help, please don't be shy and message me privately, i would love to help you personally 🩷
xoxo, colebabey8.88

Die Vampire laden zum Tanz
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dressed as my favourite musical for the musical party at the end of September! My favourite musical is Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires) and of course I had to incorporate my Witches' vest into the outfit (because obviously) and red accents & accessories for a blood theme. My new red hair bows went well with that!!
Me and two friends (one doesn't want to be included in pictures) visited the musical party event held by the theatre company. They celebrate known cult musicals and introduce the new musical, that will be introduced this season. We got a sneakpeak for "Rock me Amadeus", a musical based on the life's story of one of Austrian's most famous rock stars Falco! After having lots of fun at the musical event we went to a nearby Japanese restaurant and had the most delicious food. Spy my yummy 3 courses: vegetable gyoza for a starter, green ramen noodles and a melon pan with azuki ice cream for dessert.
Outfit rundown:
- hair bows from Claire's
- red short- sleeved t-shirt (second hand for free)
- black lacy blouse over the t-shirt (second hand for free)
- handmade vest/ gilet
- handmade pointy black skirt (I randomly made this skirt a couple years ago in a spur of the moment. It's amazing!)
- black tights and booties
- black shoulder bag with red details and pentagram (forever in my collection) [there's also a black bat plushie hugging the bag but you can't really see that in the pictures]
[image description]Picture 1: Two young, white women posing together. One is thin, the other is fat. (I'm the fat one). Both have brown hair and wear it in two braids, though the thin woman has noticeably shorter braids and bangs. The fat woman has very long hair and thus braids, and is also wearing glasses (her friend has none). The young, fat, white woman (me) is wearing: a red t-shirt, with a black sheer lacey blouse on top. The shirt sleeves stop before the lace, so you have a bit of lace with only her arm underneath, which gives a pretty effect. Over the shirt and lace blouse (both thrifted) she's wearing a handmade vest with a witchy themed print on it. Her outfit continues with a black pointy circle skirt, with additional layers of tulle for decoration. The edges of the pointy skirt are also decorated with lace (because the answer to lace is always yes!). Black thights and booties finish the bottom off. For accessories she's got bright red velvet hairbows, a necklace with an anatomical heart on it, black lace fingerless gloves and a black hand-held fan.
Her thin friend next to her is wearing a brown beret, a cream-coloured blouse with red decorations and an embroidery-like print which features big roses. She's wearing a cameo brooch pinned to the neck of her blouse. Her outfit continues with a highwaist skirt in dark red (blood red maybe?) featuring a gorgeous fairy tale-esque/picture book-esque print showing scenes from the musical "Dance of the Vampires". It's not officially affiliated, but for fans of the musical it's clear where the inspiration came from. The picture book drawings even show the famous bed featuring in the scene of the "Carpe Noctem" song! White tights and black shoes with cute bows on them finish the outfit off.
Picture 2: A close-up candid picture of Amy (me) standing among the crowd watching the musical show on stage. She's turning around to look towards the picture taker and smiling.
Picture 3: A close-up candid picture of Amy (me) taken from behind. She's happily watching the musical show on the stage and quickly fanning herself with a black fan with white mountains drawn on it.
Picture 4: Amy (me) and her friend waiting in line for the musical flea market. One is thin, the other is fat. (I'm the fat one). Both have brown hair and wear it in two braids, though the thin woman has noticeably shorter braids and bangs. The fat woman has very long hair and thus braids, and is also wearing glasses (her friend has none). Their both dressed in gothic lolita fashion, with a vampire theme. (For a detailed description of their clothes, check picture 1 please.)
Picture 5: The delicious Japanese food I've had! On top of the collage of pictures are the surprisingly big vegetable gyoza, followed by a bib beautiful ramen bowl, with noodles, green vegetables, spring onions, sprouts and a juicy egg. The third image shows dessert: a melon pan, which has been cut open, with a big scoop of azuki ice cream inside, with some azuki bean sauce, an orange slice and mint for garnish.[/image description]

Maria von Medon, a noble specializing in Faith magic and a student of the Blue Lions. This unit values connecting with others. Try recruiting her again when you've formed more bonds? (RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS: have at least three B supports.)
PERSONAL INFORMATION
GENDER. female AGE. 15 -> 17 HEIGHT. 5'2" BIRTHDATE. April 5th CREST / HOLY BLOOD. n/a CLASS. Blue Lions student AFFILIATION. Macedon, and later the United Kingdom of Archanea BIOGRAPHY. The youngest princess of the former Kingdom of Macedon, now part of the Archanean Alliance. She holds great curiosity toward the world and all its sights, but most importantly, she loves to meet and befriend others. Came to Fódlan to improve her preexisting skills, learn new ones, and become overall more capable; secretly, she hoped to find her brother again as well.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Year 594 - Princess Maria of Macedon is born, the youngest of three.
Year 598 - King Osmond of Macedon is assassinated, and Michalis succeeds the throne.
Year 600 - Michalis asks Maria to become a hostage to Dohlr; Maria, wanting to protect the people of Macedon and make her brother happy, complies.
Year 604 - Maria is freed from Castle Deil by Prince Marth of Altea and his army, thereafter joining him alongside Minerva in the War of Shadows. Following Michalis' defeat, she watches over him in Macedon's aery until he recovers.
Year 607 - Maria is kidnapped by Gharnef while studying magic in Khadein. Later the following year, Prince Marth and his army defeat Medeus and free the captured clerics, Maria among them. She and Minerva stay with Lena at her convent, caring for orphans.
Year 609 - Maria resumes her studies and departs for Fódlan.

FOREIGN PENDANT: A subtle-yet-elegant pendant of foreign make. Its quality suggests a high degree of nobility; there is a small emblem of a wyvern on the back of it. It probably belongs to someone sentimental. LOCATION: Cathedral

"Are you nervous? Hee hee, don't worry! I used to help out a lot with cooking at the convent -- I'll help you out!"

"Did you know? In Archanea, you have to use staves and tomes to use magic, but in Fódlan you don't need any of that! I don't know if I can bring that kind of magic back home, but if I can help even without a staff, then it's worth a try, isn't it? Trying to keep up with both of them gets a little tough sometimes, though!"

CLASSIC.
"Michalis... Minerva... I... Just one more time... Togeth...er..."
THE ADVICE BOX.
I'm really cheerful when I'm with people, but sometimes I worry that makes other people not hear me out at all. Sometimes my siblings just brush me off!
>Start acting differently and maybe they'll change their mind. >Show them through your actions. They'll realize eventually. (correct?) >Stop being small

I thought I got a handle on how many authors were riding the coattails of Stuff Your Kindle Day in March but apparently not.
The first list of 2024 (or some of the list, who even knows) is live and a whole additional tier of authors that I thought were affiliated on account of the fact that I have purchased books of their for free in both December events since I got a kindle (even before I knew what SYKD actually was and just though it only existed in December) have turned out not to be.
It's a world of betrayals in the buy-kindle-books-for-free-event market, apparently.

MONTHLY MEDIA: June 2023
Summer months here we go! Just wrapped up my time with Zelda so I foresee more reading and tv in my future again. In the meantime, here’s how I spent June!
……….FILM……….
Tumblr media
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) Saw it twice and the first time was very nearly too much to take in. The second viewing was far less overwhelming and still a joy. While it didn’t feel like a complete story following Miles, at least there’s some satisfying conclusion with Gwen. I’m glad part 2 comes out in less than a year.
Ali Wong: Baby Cobra (2016) Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood or maybe going with one of her older specials wasn’t the right call but I wasn’t really feeling it. I can see hints of overlapping themes that pop up in BEEF (which I loved and why I wanted to watch one of her specials) but that was more interesting than it was funny. Still gonna check out her other specials.
Tumblr media
Goldeneye (1995) I have more memories playing the game than watching the movie but still a big fan of this flick. Really great characters and locales and I forgot just how comedic it is. So many one-liners! Always feels a little long at the end but worth it to see Boris’ death scene.
Encanto (2021) Late to seeing this and really great! Beautiful and personal and peak musical songs where characters basically ONLY share their personality through song.
……….TELEVISION……….
Tumblr media
Ted Lasso (Episode 3.11 to 3.12) I was really dragging my feet about finishing the series as I found season 3 wasn’t as consistently enjoyable to watch. But those last two eps really stuck the landing. Some beats were expected, some were welcome surprises, and there were so many callbacks that were naturally woven in that I was really impressed. Some of the best from the season (and on par with the rest of the series) and I’m really glad I finished it.
……….YOUTUBE……….
Tumblr media
Do "gun buybacks" work? by Vox A really succinct breakdown of how the US can do better, and an honest look at why this needs to be a part of a more complex plan. VIDEO
Tumblr media
Agnostic TTRPG Prep Method by Map Crow Really fun way to use all the books that you’re not currently using! Watch the vid and then if you like the process you can pick up the bundle HERE (not affiliated, just a fan). VIDEO
Tumblr media
The Station Toronto Needs by RMTransit Hey I’m a big fan of trains and I just found this channel. This was my first introduction to them but I’m keen to watch more. More trains! VIDEO
Tumblr media
How Editing Creates Comedies That Make You Cry... by The Editing Podcast Another channel I recently came across and I’m keen to watch more. I know very little about editing but am keen to learn more.  VIDEO
……….READING……….
Tumblr media
Bullshit Jobs by David Graeber (Page 7 of 285) Clearly I’ve only just started this (thanks to me dragging my feet on The Righteous Mind) but really excited to dig deeper. The prologue is the original essay that inspired the book and that alone already has so much in it! A really great primer and I wasn’t expecting it to lay a lot of the blame at capitalism’s feet so I think it’s gonna be a great read.
The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion by Jonathan Haidt (Complete) The first time I read this (at a time when the COVID-19 vaccine was just coming out and folks were choosing not to get it) the book really helped me understand the reasoning behind other people’s choices. For that it was really helpful. This time around, with more time and more political moves behind us, I find it glaringly obvious just how out of touch (or conservative-leaning) this book is. There’s a whole section about how the free market and capitalism is good for healthcare. Wild stuff. If you want more in-depth reviews explaining why this didn’t sit right with me this time around, I found Storygraph had a lot of great write-ups (also Storygraph is great if you want an alternative to the amazon-owned Goodreads).
Tumblr media
Delicious in Dungeon Vol. 12 by Ryoko Kui (Complete) Listen I sing this series’ praises every time I read a volume and this is no different. Somehow the story, setting, and characters grow while still remaining connected to the main theme of “what if we ate the monsters we fought in an RPG?” It’s truly top-tier and I can’t stress enough that if you like charming, funny, expertly-illustrated comics, you should try out this series.
The Fade Out by Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Elizabeth Dismang (Complete) Really fun read. Old Hollywood murder mystery with a lot of really nuanced characters. The resolution felt a little abrupt and unsatisfying, but without giving anything away I think it was appropriate. I’m also not sure if it was a stylistic choice but all of the women have different shadows than the men. It feels like they’re living in two different worlds but maybe that’s intentional? Still really great.
……….AUDIO……….
Tumblr media
PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation by King Gizzard (2023) Loved King Giz’s first foray into metal and this continues that trend. I may not love everything that they do, but I love that they do everything that they do.
……….GAMING……….
Oz: A Fantasy Role-Playing Setting (Andrews McMeel Publishing) The Tuesday Crew is currently up against a young dragon (Dragonette) plaguing a mine (recap HERE) while the Mof1 Crew is divided across Munchkin District and each dealing with their own small crisis. They say never split the party but I think the trouble gets way more interesting when you do.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo) Finally moving on from this after countless hours spent in this world and it’s all bittersweet. Loved the familiar stuff, loved the new stuff, and loved the overall arc of the game. Hopefully the next game in the series goes back to something smaller and focused.
And that’s it. See you in July!

Affiliate Marketing Strategy - The Best Easy Copy-Paste Method
Introduction:
Tumblr media
In this blog post, I'm going to share an Affiliate Marketing Strategy which is a completely copy-and-paste technique that anyone can implement, even if they are completely new to online marketing and have no audience. By marketing affiliate products, you'll be able to get daily income using this step-by-step method. So let's get started right away!
Step 1: Finding an Affiliate Product
Finding an affiliate product to promote is the first step to begin in our Affiliate Marketing Strategy, Digistore24 is one of the sites you can use; it provides a large selection of affiliate products. You can create an account and go to the marketplace area. It's critical to select goods that are well-liked, have a strong sales ranking, and take the cancellation rate into account. Let's utilise the "Ultimate Keto Meal Plan" as our affiliate product for the sake of this demonstration and to show you this Affiliate Marketing Strategy.
Step 2: Leading with value
The common error made by most people, which infrequently results in purchases, is to simply spam their affiliate links. Instead, we'll adopt a fresh Affiliate Marketing Strategy and provide potential clients value. The first step is to Google "best-selling [niche] books." If your offering pertains to health and fitness, for instance, look up "best-selling health books." Look for hot books in your niche that are popular right now.
Step 3: Look up the book's title
Using the information you gathered in Step 2. The book will typically be made available for download in PDF format. If not, try other URLs until you locate one that works.
Learn More: Affiliate Marketing Step by Step.
Step 4: Adding Affiliate Links to the Book
Once you have the book's PDF, go to the sodapdf.com website and use their PDF editor tool. Place your affiliate links in the book at key points when you upload the PDF. To increase the likelihood that readers will click on the links, place them every 10 to 20 pages or in each chapter. Use the link feature in the editor to make the text clickable. This will send readers to your highly-converting affiliate offer when they click on the link. Using This Affiliate Marketing Strategy You Can Easily Promote your offer and Earn High Rate Of Commision.
Step 5: Adding the book to Google Drive
Upload the book to Google Drive to make it available to prospective readers. Create a free Google Drive account if you don't already have one. Upload the PDF document that includes your affiliate links. Right-click the file after the upload is finished and choose "Get link." If you want people to be able to view and download the book, select the "Anyone with the link" option. Copy the provided URL.
Step 6: Facebook Book Promotion
It's time to target prospective customers who are interested in your specialised market. Visit Facebook and look for groups in your niche. Join organisations that are active and have a sizable membership. "Hey, I was thinking of trying [your niche product], and I heard that [book name] was good," compose a post providing the free book and include a message like this. If anyone wants to read it, feel free to message me because I have a copy. Reply to messages from people by pasting the Google Drive URL.
If you Really Wanted To Become A Successful Affiliate Marketer And Wanted To Complete Your Dreams. We are Offering a Live webinar For You. Click the Link Below To Learn More.

Founded in January 2023, Heresy Press addresses a growing void in today’s literary marketplace where conformity and timidity increasingly hold sway. When authors self-censor, agents select works along narrow ideological preferences, and publishers hedge their bets in order to avoid offending anyone, then literature loses. Heresy Press is here to give oxygen to unfettered creativity and to provide a home for authors and works that are not currently favored through the conventional publishing channels. Fiction in all of its forms is the mainstay of Heresy Press, with adult literary fiction, satire, comedy, speculative fiction, and young adult books leading the charge.
-
“Publishers have adopted a defensive crouch, taking pre-emptive measures to avoid controversy and criticism. Now, many books the left might object to never make it to bookshelves because a softer form of banishment happens earlier in the publishing process: scuttling a project for ideological reasons before a deal is signed, or defusing or eliminating ‘sensitive’ material in the course of editing…. All of this is happening against the backdrop of a recent spate of shameful book bans that comes largely from the right.” (Pamela Paul, New York Times, July 24, 2022)
The new press serves as a real alternative to conventional publishers—both large and small—who increasingly deploy “soft” censorship tactics to avoid landing in hot water over boundary-pushing or “heretical” materials. Instead of adopting a “defensive crouch,” Heresy Press stands proudly for unbounded creativity and fearless expression. We discourage authors from descending into self-censorship; we don’t blink at alleged acts of cultural appropriation; we don’t pander to the presumed sensitivities of hypothetical readers; and we can hardly imagine conditions under which we would consider a retraction. Instead of playing it safe, Heresy Press is unafraid of controversy and criticism. Its ultimate commitment is to enduring quality standards, i.e. literary merit, originality, relevance, courage, humor, and aesthetic appeal. Every serious submission will receive a sympathetic hearing, regardless of the author’s age, gender identity, racial affiliation, political orientation, culture, religion, non-religion, cancellation status, etc. Fiction in all of its forms is the mainstay of Heresy Press, with adult literary fiction, satire, comedy, speculative fiction, and young adult books leading the charge.
Heresy Press is committed to freedom, honesty, openness, dissent, and real diversity in all of its manifestations. We resist conformity and instead operate within the Millsian model of the free market place of ideas. But while we stand firmly behind the First Amendment, any speech that is not protected by the First Amendment, notably incitement to violence, libel, targeted harassment, perjury, obscenity, etc. will not be considered for publication. We think of fiction as a realm that needs as much, if not more, freedoms to thrive in than common forms of real-world discourse: “No human endeavor requires freedom as much as creativity does” (Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie). Heresy Press will consider contributions that some on this planet might deem blasphemous, politically problematic, inconvenient, or impolite, and it will never engage “sensitivity readers” to screen out such aspects. “All great truths begin as blasphemies” (George Bernard Shaw). Heresy Press and its products and representatives shall not be drawn into the vortex of cancel culture, with its apologies, mea-culpas, retractions, atonements, propitiations, etc. and instead focus on what matters—unfettered creativity and fearless imagination.
Welcome to the world of Heresy Press, where creative freedom holds sway and unbridled imagination rules! The press serves as a platform for all literary voices, including those currently sidelined or silenced (paradoxically often in the name of diversity). Heresy Press is here to offer adventurous readers a bounty of alluring, uncensored, relevant, and achingly beautiful stories.
Heresy Press’s first objective is to uphold the highest standards of literary excellence, insisting that, above all else, the writing be vibrant, the vision free from moralizing ideological agendas, and the material an uninhibited artistic exploration of human quandaries.
Instead of assuming that readers are frail creatures who need to be shielded from any and all potentially offensive, unfiltered, or “triggering” contents, Heresy Press assumes that its readers are resilient, curious, open-minded, and discerning people of any background who want to be swept off their feet by a narrative so powerful, they forget to check their phones for hours at a time. We are confident that our authors can deliver on this promise. Witness the first story published by Heresy Press, Raymond Welch’s flash fiction piece “Bad Girlfriend,” published in this issue of Speakeasy.
Heresy Press is a disruptor, not only in terms of its emphasis on radical creative freedom and its faith in a resilient reading public. We do almost everything differently from conventional publishers, both big and small:
Heresy Press treats authors with respect, which means answering queries and submissions personally, and in a timely manner.
Heresy Press does not prescreen submissions according to identity criteria, and it does not hire Sensitivity Readers.
Heresy Press doesn’t charge for submissions and it will never ask authors to contribute financially to their publication.
Heresy Press pays a generous across-the-board royalty on the net profit of all income streams generated by publications of the press, thereby greatly simplifying and disentangling the often complex and opaque process of calculating payments to authors.
Heresy Press runs a very lean operation with lots of professional volunteerism and little overhead cost, thus generating better returns for authors and progressing at a fast pace.
Heresy Press nimbly negotiates between print-on-demand and print-run approaches while also issuing e-books and audio-books.
--
Essay about the State of Publishing (Part I)
The publishing industry has largely adopted an approach and an outlook that New York Times columnist Pamela Paul has called “a defensive crouch.” Instead of approaching submissions with an eager mindset that goes: “Is it innovative, brilliantly written, daring, fresh, and beautiful?” now many gatekeepers in the world of publishing first raise a set of anxious questions: “Does this author have the right kind of identity, and does it match the identity of her protagonist?” “What will our Sensitivity Readers say to this?” “Is there a clearly identifiable moral center that we approve of?” “Does this story contain any slurs or words that are degrading, regardless of context?”
All of these questions (and probably several more) are intended to ward off potential Twitter-storms and to preempt outrage from thin-skinned readers; significantly, all of these concerns also reflect an obsession with thematic content at the expense of aesthetic considerations:
Authors must write in own-voice. If they portray characters other than members of their own identity group, they are guilty of cultural appropriation. Sensitivity readers stand by to flag any transgressions that agents, editors, and publishers may have missed (or merely suspected).
Authors must take an approved stance on minorities, diversity, transgenderism, racism, guns, immigration, etc., and Sensitivity Readers will make sure that authors stay within the prescribed safe lanes.
Authors must not make anybody uncomfortable by depictions of discrimination, racism, oppression, harassment, or violence, except in explicit condemnation of them, and treatments of Islam are inherently suspect. The Sensitivity Reader’s job is not done until no “problematic” scenes are left standing.
There must be no ideological ambivalence in the text. The reader should not have to wonder whether the author sanctions the views and actions of her characters. Instead, there must be congruence between the opinions of the writer and the conduct and mindset of her literary creations.
With this checklist in hand, agents, editors, publishers, and Sensitivity Readers are placing the focus on what the story is about not how well it is told. Matters of style, of poetics, narrative structure, and aesthetic form are underrated or completely neglected.
The question is how have we ended up here? What has led to this strange, anti-aesthetic climate? I want to sketch an answer to these questions based on my personal experience of the “business” of academic literary criticism.
The current state of affairs in publishing has been long in the making. In essence, it is the result of a paradigm shift in academic/scholarly approaches to literature that started in the 1980s with the rise of critical theory, spearheaded by thinkers associated with the Frankfurt School and French Poststructuralism. Theorists like Foucault, Bourdieu, Derrida, Deleuze and the legions of their followers across the French and Anglo-American academies, shifted the principal attitude from a model that foregrounded the aesthetic and formal properties of texts—as evidenced in the structuralist and New Critical paradigms—to a critical focus that prioritized content over form, focusing predominantly on the expression and rendering of power relations through the medium of language and discourse.
The Marxist thinking of philosophers associated with the Frankfurt School (e.g. Adorno and Horkheimer)—i.e. that all human relations as well as their cultural expressions are manifestations of differential power relations—filtered down into the way literature was treated as a playing field of unequal and essentially inequitable social relations. Hence the birth of the race-class-gender trinity, the literary critical approach that was based on what the philosopher Paul Ricoeur called the “hermeneutics of suspicion.”
Before the wide adoption of that paradigm, literary critics were generally paying homage to what structuralist critic Jonathan Culler defined as the “hyperprotected cooperative principle.” This denotes a sort of contract between reader and author, a bond of trust where the reader approached a work of literature with the conviction that things are arranged the way they were for a reason. Hence, even seemingly incongruous, illogical, or paradoxical parts of the work are there because they were part of the author’s artistic vision, and the critical reader’s job was to figure out how to make sense of the seeming contradictions, tensions, and mysteries within a larger context. Structuralists believed that there were deep mental, societal, and cultural patterns embedded in texts, narratives, myths, traditions, and beliefs, i.e. figurative traces of mental universals and shared human essences or archetypes. Accordingly, their task consisted in unearthing the—often hidden—patterns that inform the myriad different versions, stories, tales, and narratives that are circulating in cultural and literary traditions throughout the world.
This now quaint view of literary interpretation was ditched for the hermeneutics of suspicion sometimes in the late 1980s and 1990s, as critics began to look for signs of the authors’ benighted, socially regressive—and occasionally also adequately progressive—views on matters of racial supremacy, gender inequity, and class warfare. A whole industry, comprising conferences, journals, associations, books, and more sprung up in response to the desire to treat literary texts as compendia of their authors ideological views and opinions, especially in regards to issues of race, class, and gender. Students and future professional literary critics were taught to analyze literary texts for the ways in which they socially constructed, and thus “made” these categories. From being considered a locus of aesthetic pleasure, the text thus morphed into something more closely resembling a crime scene. One may argue that this transition is a symptom of a larger erosion of trust happening on a society-wide scale.
It hardly surprises, therefore, that legions of literary agents and editors are now ensconced in all echelons of the publishing industry who are willing to ditch works of literature, no matter how brilliantly written, on the basis of perceived sins of omission and commission detected on the thematic level of content, character, subject matter, ideological tendency. No wonder, too, that some readers are loudly condemning certain works of literature for their authors’ views, failing to recognize the discontinuity between an author’s own moral (or immoral) views and the characters and events inside the fictional world. If the moralizing approach to literature were to become utterly dominant, then the canon of available literature would shrink to the works of a few unconditionally virtuous, progressive, magnanimous, unprejudiced, and saintly individuals. But what level of riveting, dark, disturbing, funny, and boundary-pushing literature could we expect from such unblemished hands?
The hermeneutics of suspicion has poisoned the appreciation of art, with artists and readers everywhere now paying the price for the prosecutorial approach to literature that has been inculcated into generations of budding literary critics. For the past 50 years, we have failed to teach students to analyze and appreciate the craft of literature as an artistic endeavor and a human striving for profound aesthetic experiences. Attempts in that direction would have likely met with withering scorn by the scholarly community as a new form of “aestheticism.”
There is obviously nothing wrong with having a distinct critical perspective, and it is also true that language is one of the vehicles for encoding and disseminating pernicious stereotypes. However, literature is not the place where we should insert the lever in order to dislodge injustice and rid the world of prejudice. The emphasis should rather be placed on education, on tolerance training, on integration of neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and so on. Instead of purging library shelves of unwelcome books, let’s drive initiatives that strengthen social cohesion through trust-building, dialogue, and compassion. Much more damage than good is done by putting art in fetters over forbidden words and disfavored ideas. This censorious approach is directly counter-productive, since literature is instrumental in broadening minds, enlarging empathy, fostering dialogue, and practicing virtue, albeit vicariously.
Having said, this, I much prefer Oscar Wilde’s aphorism “The telling of beautiful untrue things is the proper aim of Art” to Shelley’s activist dictum about poets being “the unacknowledged legislators of the world.” They are not, at least not in the sense of “legislator” as a person with actual political and legal power or direct socio-economic impact. Poets wield a very different kind of influence–they gift us with soaring diction, they broaden our horizons with new perspectives, and they provide us with deep understanding of ourselves and others via the most effective teaching tool in existence: storytelling. Let’s never lose sight of that.
This is not a plea for uncritical reading. Far from it. But there’s a difference between being an uncritical reader and being a humble, fair, and undogmatic critic. We need more of the latter.
(To be continued)
– Bernard Schweizer (Director Heresy Press)
