My Personal Headcanons For What's Inside The Rock Of Eternity

A Lazarus pit waterfall with a nymph made out of it's liquid (just chilling somewhere randomly inside the rock, she sings to Darla sometimes.)

An entire prison disguised as a library that holds magical and ancient prisoners inside of the pages of its books.

An opera house room dedicated to long dead and lost musicians of time who can be heard singing their compositions/songs with their final breaths all throughout. The eternally burning violin gets to be played in there sometimes.

An entire hall of statues dedicated to past and former champions of magic/the wizard's old friends who were slain in battle.

A giant space dedicated to rare, magical, and mystical gems from all across the universe, including Kryptonite (which Billy thought was just a huge emerald)

Fountain of Youth

A door leading to an open green field of wild flowers growing abundantly, like in Howl's Moving Castle.

Little stations throughout the RoE where there's maps created with crayon stating where you are and where to go next.

Random glitter thrown about by Darla (she didn't want to waste good bread to leave a bread trail, so she used glitter).

A communication circle to speak with the gods and patrons that work with the wizard SHAZAM.

An entire room filled to the brim with ancient wines and ambrosia created and gifted by Dionysus (none of the marvel family can go in yet).

A grand central train station with ghost/monster train attendants.

A training room where ghosts and projections of enemies can be conjured to battle against.

An exorcism room right next to it.

A trampoline hall.

A secret set of keys/skeleton key that can be given to anyone the Champion of Magic deems worthy, that allows the user to enter the RoE at any time for any reason. (No one can find the keys/lost them somewhere in the RoE).

I think that's about all I can think of right now! Let me know what y'all think could be inside the Rock of Eternity, I'm really interested in what the nexus of magic has inside! There's so much potential for it and amazing mysteries within it ✨️

Meanwhile, that same character will do something else that is almost as bad, bad but not even nearly as bad as murdering innocents, or something that isn’t even bad at all, and they will FLIP THEIR SHIT! And suddenly, that character is a demon for that, but not for the homicide, and anyone who likes them is “Excusing this kind of behavior!!”

Like, honey, you just saw them mutilate an innocent bystander. 😒

i’m probably gonna get hate for this, but i think the argument that eddie having a mustache is a “clear sign that he is being confirmed queer” and saying that mustaches are “a clear symbol of queerness” in a show about firefighters is willfully ignorant, especially considering the fact that multiple non-queer characters on the show have had mustaches…

and when you take away the apparent “freddie mercury symbolism” (which i have yet to see from any of the photos we’ve gotten- he looks more like a corrupt cop than anything) then there is really nothing appealing about it. especially when the only other two ‘major’ characters who have had mustaches have been abusive and violent figures (not saying that this is the route they are taking eddie) but to look at the circumstances surrounding it in the context of previous characters with the same style of mustache, as well as the fact that mustaches aren’t automatically an inherent symbol of queerness as so many people for some reason choose to believe is (imo) a willfully foolish way to go into this season, as you are creating expectations around something that in every realm of possibility could be something reiterating his straightness and macho personality, just as much as it could be a symbol of his queerness.

im not saying that it won’t be a symbol of queerness, but to act like that is the only possible outcome of him having this mustache is just willfully setting yourself up for disappointment for choosing to put stock in something that has just as much chance of being an objectively awful stylistic choice (sorry not sorry to those who love it for some reason… it does not suit ryan/eddie at all and it gives me a massive ick every time i see it) especially when this show has not shown any sings of striving to infuse easter eggs like that into the narrative before, it seems rather naive to convince yourself that they are suddenly going to start doing that now.

there’s theorizing, and then there’s being willfully delusional (and i don’t mean in the lighthearted fandom sense). i know that we love to toss around the phrase “delulu” when we toss around theories of varying narrative possibility, but even then it is done with a certain level of acknowledgment that things could very well not go the direction they seem to be (as we have seen time and time and time again).

however, when you start tossing around theories and assumptions based on limited information as if it is 100% gospel truth that it means something, you are willingly setting yourself up to be disappointed by the narrative when they once again decide to back out in the 11th hour like they’ve done time and time again. it is baffling to me how often this show has gone the unconventional (to put it nicely) route over what makes sense narratively, just for everyone to then act like overnight tim has become this predictable writer who loves giving the fans what they want when in reality, he has given us mostly the exact opposite of what we have been begging for for years.

i see people saying “oh they would NEVER do ____, that wouldn’t make any sense! it’d be too crazy for them to risk that” only for the show to do exactly that, and the audience/fandom- instead of holding these writers accountable and being vocal about how we are actively being baited and dragged along- continue to ignorantly say every season“oh, well, it’s gonna happen THIS time…”

there’s a difference between optimism and bliny putting faith in something that has not earned it and unfortunately most of what i am seeing coming from the fandom right now is the latter and it makes me dread what the state of the fandom will he by the end of s8 if- in all likelihood- tim does what the show has always done and back out of committing to buddie canon at the last second

i don’t say any if this maliciously, or as a verbal attack on anyone… (hell even i am guilty of this to sole extent in certain situations) i say this to hopefully bring people down to earth for a moment, so that they can breathe and then look at things with s little more of a level head rather than setting themselves up for disappointment. i was the same in s7 and it wrecked my mental state and overall enjoyment around the show/fandom, and i don’t want to see that happen to other people when they- like i have- reach a point where enough is enough and they are too tired to deal with it anymore.

I know you probably aren't into FNaF anymore but I thought you'd be interested in knowing that a MASSIVE leak just happened. Basically, in 2023 a group called Fright's Dome got their hands on an old, completely unknown version of the Freddy Files that they dubbed the Talbert Files based on the author and paranormal investigator, Christopher Ryans-Talbert. Scott told them that he didn't necessarily care what they did with it, but he preferred it stay just between the group, and they decided to respect his wishes. This caused drama in the group and someone tried leaking it, but it was covered up until recently where personal DMs were leaked revealing its legit (which is honestly fucked up, those were private and personal conversations).

Basically, this old draft of the lore shows off some pre-FFPS storylines. I think the biggest part is that Henry and Charlotte WEREN'T originally planned to be part of the games, instead replaced by a man named Emmett Tucker and his daughter, Cassidy. Emmett created the Medicore Melodies, with Happy Frog made specifically for Cassidy, but William rejected them so he flipped and left. Cassidy possessed both the Puppet AND Golden Freddy, and the five kids reported was purely an error on investigators who saw Cassidy's ghosts on the cameras.

Other things include ages (in 1985 William was 40, Mike was 17, and Phone Guy was 34), names of the missing kids (Susie Mosteller, Gabriel Gardner, Jeremy Fitzgerald Jr., Fritz Smith Jr.), Phone Guy's name (Steven Callahan), acknowledgement of the SAVETHEM victims (they were teens who broke into Freddy's and was picked off by William), the SL gang becoming cryptids (Scrap Baby and Molten Freddy obviously, but Michael himself was also one known as the St. George Stitchwraith), Fazbear's Fright being made by FE to basically do what the indie games did successfully, Elizabeth's original name (Abaigael), and a journal entry from William Afton himself after the death of his youngest son that dives into his twisted ideals and motivations. Ryan, Andy and Nick M of the Young Veins interviewed by Natalie Kuchik for the Estrella Online blog, 10 April 2010:

Can you please state your name and what you do in the band? Ryan: My name is Ryan Ross and I am the James Dean of the group. Andy: I am Andy Soukal and I play the thumping bass. Slapping the bass. Nick: My name is Nick Murray and I play the drums.

The first tour as The Young Veins, how has it been going and what’s the crowd reaction been like? Ryan: Seems like it is getting better and better. Nick: The tour seems to be picking up steam. Ryan: More and more people are coming I feel like than the first shows, so that’s really nice. Andy: We have such a diverse line-up. We have a hip-hop band, a crazy Freddie Mercury style band and then a throw back band and the crowd has been really receptive to all of it.

How did you guys get on this tour with Foxy Shazam? Ryan: We are managed by the same people. It was kind of tough to get on a tour when you don’t have any music out or any records, so I think they did us a favor. Or maybe we are doing them a favor.

What is it like going back to more smaller intimate venues? Ryan: It is more interesting every night, you never know what you are going to walk into. Some of these stages are, I question the craftsmanship in a lot of these clubs because I can’t figure out what they were thinking but it makes it a lot of fun. Being so close to the crowd again, I forgot how that was and it makes the show have more energy I think.

Do these venue sizes make you guys more hands on? Do you go out and sign merch afterwords? Ryan: Yeah, pretty much every night. If you need to come see me, I am petty much around. It has been really nice to actually be able to talk to the kids it has been awhile since that has been possible. Nick: Especially, since we don’t have any music out or released we are building a really close relationship with what fan-base we do have is really important. Being as close as possible, building friendships and meeting people around the country is good.

What kind of comments are you guys getting from fans? Andy: It ranges all over the place. Ryan: Yeah, where do we begin. Well, I guess about the music it has been cool to have kids say, “I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this or not”, “I’ve only heard two songs but I’m really excited about the album now.” Then sometimes they ask if they can marry me. Nick: The best feeling in the world is to have people that did not come for our band and like our band and tell us that after the show. Especially, since no one has any pretense of what to expect. If they did like it, that is a really good feeling, it is the best feeling in the world. Ryan: It really feels like we are up there trying to win people over, it is challenging.

When this tour ends, what are your plans after? Ryan: More touring, we are going to do Bonnaroo. Then we are trying to route a tour around that so we will be touring in June and then the album comes out June 8th.

The first single is “Change” why did you go with that one? Nick: Seemed logical. Ryan: Yeah, I don’t know. I feel like that album is all over the place and so many songs sound different. I can’t say it represents the album best but it is one of the more upbeat heavier songs. I think live it is a lot of fun to do. Andy: We also did a lot of market research.

Did you really? Because people do that. Ryan: We polled people at the movies.

On your upcoming album Take a Vacation! all the songs are three minutes or less, was that planned or did it just happen? Ryan: No, I don’t know. I guess something switched in Jon and my songwriting and I guess we just trimmed the fat and cut out parts we didn’t need. It is going to kind of make it hard to do a headlining tour. A lot of our favorite records are really short. I mean, there are so many early Elvis songs that are under two minutes long it is really crazy. It wasn’t a conscious thing it is just the style of music we write is shorter, I don’t know for what reason.

The album comes out June 8th, are you planning on streaming it online for free before it comes out, or any other promotions? Ryan: We are sort of putting together some sort of marketing plan but that is not really my strong point, so the label is always coming up with stuff like that. We are doing something pretty cool where if you buy the vinyl you’ll get the CD for free. We are doing these really neat pre-order packages where we are doing these view master things from when you were a kid. We are doing a box set thing where you get one of those with pictures of the band and we did a couple of photo shoots for them. Stuff that is fun for us to do.

Did your label come up with those ideas or was it your guys? Ryan: That was ours. Nick: We really liked the idea of having a view master. Ryan: We were talking about it months ago. Nick: We just didn’t think it was a possibility. Ryan: The label has been really great about letting us do these crazy things already.

What about the vacation photo contest, was that your idea? Ryan: That was their idea, which I really liked because I have been meeting the kids every night and they are really excited about it. There is really nothing we have to do, it is just a great way to have people come for free.

When you (Ryan) were in Panic! at the Disco you wrote a lot of the songs, would you ever do one of those songs live again? Ryan: I don’t know, I sang a couple of the songs so I guess those would be the only ones I would do. I haven’t really thought about it to be honest with you. Andy: It is a different style so it kind of clashes a little bit. I am not super familiar with everything but if there are a couple of songs similar to our style sure it would be considered but otherwise, it would just clash with what we are doing.

I know your sound is so different, when did you feel the shift from Panic! at the Disco to The Young Veins sound? Ryan: The stuff that I was writing, like half this album (Take a Vacation!) with Jon would have been for the Panic! record anyway. It wasn’t a shift really except for when we quit, I guess it allowed us to do even more than we wanted. Maybe half this stuff we actually already knew [that] there would be no chance it would be for Panic! so we went wild with it. It wasn’t a conscious shift ever in our songwriting, it just kept evolving.

When you parted ways did you know your former band members would keep using the Panic! At the Disco name? Ryan: No, I didn’t think that they would keep the name. It was a little bit shocking when I heard about them doing these tours and stuff without us. I figured doing your own thing meant doing your own thing.

What is a song you never get sick of hearing? Andy: ��Wounded” by The Cookies. No one is going to know what that is so you don’t have to write that down, but I am going to throw that out there. Ryan: Reason why? Andy: Reason why, well it’s an old song and it’s just really unique and clever. The vocal melody are just so challenging, and that stuff in today’s music is not accessible at all. You don’t find stuff like that. Ryan: You got one Nick? Nick: I just thought of one, umm… Ryan: The one that I keep listening to recently is the song “The Windmills of Your Mind”, the Dusty Springfield version. I think we might cover that song in the future but it is constantly on repeat for me. Nick: It is kind of an obvious one but “Waterloo Sunset” is still one of my favorite songs of all time which is by The Kinks. I’ve never gotten sick of listening to that song. Ryan: Yeah, that’s one of mine. Nick: I have probably heard it fifteen thousand times and it’s never gotten old. Andy: Also “No Scrubs” by TLC, that one never gets old. We sing that one in the van a lot.

Think you would ever cover that song? Andy: I hope.

You are going to need some filler songs when you headline. Andy: Yeah (laughs).

What is something you have always wanted to do but have not done yet? Nick: Shoot a feature film. Ryan: Shoot a feature film star. Andy: I would like to be in Nick’s feature film.

Seriously, are you into movies? Andy: Especially Die Hard. Nick: Yeah, I definitely want to make one though within the next year or so. Ryan: I don’t know, I am sorry I don’t have a good answer for this one. Nick: I don’t even want that to be the answer though, I want something crazier. Ryan: I know I am not really funny today, I am a little bit upset at myself actually.

You guys are young, there has to be something! Ryan: I have done it all (everyone laughs). I want to learn how to ride a motorcycle.

Do you own one yet? Ryan: No, but wouldn’t that be funny?

Well, some people buy frivolous stuff they don’t use. Ryan: Yeah, I have thought about it. Me and Jon were going to buy motorcycles when I still lived in Vegas and we were going to drive up into the mountains until we realized what a bad idea that was. I still would like to because I used to live near the PCH in California, so I always thought it would be fun to drive a motorcycle up and down the coast.

If you could see any band or artist perform any song live, what would it be and why? Andy: These questions are so hard. Ryan: They’re so good though. Andy: Bon Jovi. I agree! No, I’m just joking. Ryan: Can you travel back in time and see the group when they were young?

Yeah, any line up, any song. Ryan: I might want to see The Kinks do “You Really Got Me” like in 1965 or something. Nick: “I Was A Teenage Werewolf” by The Cramps.

Any particular reason why? Nick: Yeah, I’m a really big Cramps fan and Lux died last year, so I never got to see them. Andy: Can I just say, every song that Gentle Giant has ever done.

Just an entire concert, any reason why? Andy: That is such a bad answer. They are just really wacky and they are just this weird band from the 70s that never made it anywhere but was really cool. Ryan: I can’t understand why.

You (Ryan Ross) received a backlash when you left Panic! At the Disco, did you expect that? Ryan: No, but I guess…

Did you have to learn to roll with it? Ryan: Yeah, I mean it was already bad enough without that having to happen to. I guess, when people don’t understand the reasons why it’s easy to get mad at the person you don’t know for something you think they did. It’s weird how some of the fans took it personally. I wish they would understand, this is our life and we have to do what is best for us.

You have to play the music that you want to play. Nick: People grow up. Ryan: It seems to be passing a little bit. Some people are coming around and saying, maybe it wasn’t the smartest train of thought I was on a couple of months ago. I don’t know, I mean obviously if I was a young kid, a teenager and my favorite band broke up I would be a little bit upset too.

Estrella: Do you guys have any final comments? Andy: No, that was my two cents. Ryan: Do you want to comment on it? (laughs) Andy: No, that about covers it. Ryan: Cool, thanks.

Q. No title yet for Ep 2! Oh my god it's just sounding more and more likely and I am so afraid to believe it because they've teased it for literal years and we're still not there!

Q. They could still tease it and just not do it and say it's not queer baiting because they they gave us bi Buck.

Q. Why doesn't episode 2 have a title?! What do we think? 👀👀

A. I bunched these asks together because they're a good combination of what my ask box currently looks like, minus the questions I'm ignoring, and because I can answer all of this in one post. I'm going to tackle the queer bait question first. Yes the show gave us bi Buck so using Buck to tease a possible storyline would technically give them an out on the queer baiting accusation. But they aren't using Oliver/Buck for any of the teasing. They're using Ryan/Eddie. The entire off season promotion has been Ryan/Eddie centric. The early bts antics have been Ryan/mustache centric. They are playing it up. The one official filming post was Oliver/Ryan. Now technically they haven't outright said the words queer, gay or Buddie (though basically confirming they've tried to make Eddie canon queer for several seasons is as close as you can get. So they're already towing the line), but they have heavily insinuated them since the beginning of last season. Much more so than they ever have. Not doing it would 100% be queer baiting at this point. The show is out of leeway where this storyline is concerned. They aren't going to get a pass anymore from the audience or the media who cover the show, the media part of it has already begun. We started seeing legitimate articles pointing out the Buddie of it all during the off-season, and that continued yesterday with the two jurnos who wrote about the Buddie shift. The show is out of time. Anything else will be detrimental to them at this point because people will absolutely walk away. They're out of excuses. They're out of 'next season'.

Episode 2 not having a title, or not releasing the title yet either means the title is a spoiler of some kind, but unless it's called Buddie Begins it can't spoil too much, or it's an indication of it being a significant episode. I would imagine it's the second option. If someone whose memory is better than mine can confirm when we got the episode title for 7x4 I would appreciate it because I don't recall getting that title that far in advance either. I would imagine it's an Eddie begins again type episode. It's also probably the alternate reality episode, if that is indeed what they're doing. The 3rd episode being titled 'There's No Place Like Home' is also a pretty good indicator that the previous episode could be an alternate reality. I'm super curious about what they'll go with title wise. Will it be another play on words like 'Eddie, Exhausted and Escaping' or something else like 'Escape from Reality' which would be a nod to the Freddie Mercury Bohemian Rhapsody thing they've been playing with. The writers and director are Buddie people though that was immediately noticeable. Whatever good Buddie scene you can think of there's more than a good chance that that particular writer and director were involved. Everything is setting up.

I love all the content we're getting. This hiatus is so much more fun now. :)

Is Buddie queer baiting? In my eyes? Right now? No, not at all. But they do need to proceed with caution.

In fact, in the beginning of last season I would have said 'No, it's only ship baiting', because neither of them were out of the closet. But now that they've continued the same kind of promo for season 8, even though Buck is in a relationship with another man? The way they are consciously hyping up the Buddie of it all? The way they keep implying and playing into the fact that Eddie might not be as straight as he himself thought he was?

Yeah, they're not there yet, but they're definitely toeing that line and they need to be really careful with how they proceed.

I remember saying to someone last season, right before 7b started again, that the show had to either 'shit or get off the pot'. They could have done that in 7b. But now that moment has passed. There is no more getting off the pot. They need to... well, you catch my drift right? ;)

I'm so curious about that episode 2 title and the Wizard of Oz reference in episode 3. We all know how much Tim loves old classic movies.

So many questions, so few answers. The time is right to create some beautiful theories and speculate about those episodes. Fun times ahead!

○ This video was the result of a Patreon poll, and the option the guys least wanted to win, because they knew how much work it would be. But they committed to it like the professionals they are, going all out on the music, costumes, and choreography.

○ The medley is an update / expansion of the previous version they had been performing at live shows for many years. They took the opportunity to swap out some songs in the earlier arrangement for others by the same artists:

○ The sandwich delivery guy in "Thank You" is the fellas' longtime friend and collaborator Rek Dunn. Given that Boyz II Men are proud Philadelphians, he's probably handing over a cheesesteak.

○ Eli sings some of the Korean lyrics in the closing BTS section. Given that he speaks Japanese, he was probably the most likely of the guys to get the pronunciation right. (And judging by the YouTube comments from BTS fans, he did a good job.)

○ When Geoff was rehearsing the choreography at home, he got some personal coaching from Kathy and little William.

○ The guys also had group dance rehearsals at a local studio.

Jackass boys as movie slashers pls!!!

Jackass Guys as Horror Movie Slashers!

An: I had a ton of fun coming up with these ideas! I have a deep love and respect for the whole horror genre, but I haven’t actually seen many movies myself, so a lot of these are based on summaries I found on the internet and from friends, so please be understanding if these aren’t accurate! XD Let me know if you wanna see more stuff like this in the future!

Johnny:

With his penchant for torturing his cast mates and incredible planning ability when it comes to pranks, the most fitting slasher for Johnny would likely be Jigsaw. I mean, most Jackass stunts are just glorified being Saw traps anyways XD

However I do have a bit of a personal grudge against the Saw movies and also don’t consider Jigsaw among the ranks of other movie slashers,

So based off his charisma, wit, and impecable fashion sense, the horror movie killer that reminds me the most of Johnny is Freddy Krueger!

Also he seems like he’d be the type of killer who’d play with his food mess with his victims a little after he’d caught them lol

Bam:

To me, Bam reminds me of one of those campy horror movie killers, especially given his (speculated- I’m judging it based off of his eyes) performance in the music video for Escape from Hellview!

The first image that comes to mind is Jason, with the whole psycho mama’s boy turned unstoppable killing machine thing

Bam’s most admirable trait is his drive and motivation, something I also see in this killer (though Jason is mainly focused on murdering teenagers and Bam just wants to like land a skateboard trick)

The only issue really arises with presence- but hey, who says you can’t be short and menacing?

Steve-O:

Completely unrelated to the fact that, if I’m not wearing my glasses, he bears a strong resemblance to Mathew Lillard, Steve really strikes me as a Ghostface kind of guy!

None of the Scream killers are really all that serious when it comes to the actual killing, and that chaos and unpredictability of the murders themselves really seem to fit him

Not to mention most of the people who were Ghostface were only doing it for the fame, much like Steve’s strive for fame

Not to mention how unnecessarily horny all those movies are?? Like I get it slashers are raunchy but DAMN!

Chris:

I struggled SO HARD with Chris because he seems like such a genuinely sweet guy

But I get final girl energy from him! Seems like such a ditz at first glance, but he’s got a decent head on his shoulders and the sense not to go into the woods to investigate what that noise was!

Also has a love of knives/axes, so he’d likely be good at utilizing improvised weapons and his time traveling through the wilderness from Wildboyz might give him an advantage when it comes to being chased through forrests

In any survival situation, I think Chris is your best bet if you wanna stay alive :)

Ryan:

Being more quiet and reserved than his rowdy cast mates, Ryan really strikes me as the Michael Meyers type

You know- he’s all strong and silent, and he had this presence about him that you can just feel

But no matter what you throw at him, he always gets back up in the end, much like how he has his whole swooping in when you least expect thing when it comes to stunts!

Not to mention that we all know he looks good in a jumpsuit from the car wash photo shoot XD

So, after some consideration, I have decided to create another new Descendants fic! This one, called Fly to Your Heart, will feature OCs who are the children of the Pixie Hollow gang from the Tinkerbell movies, who are originally meant to go to school in Pixie Hollow because it’s far away from the mainland, but wind up coming to Auradon Prep shortly before Ben’s proclamation on an outreach program set up by King Beast because he wants to improve relations with the fairies, along with one daughter of Anna and Kristoff, because I really loved those movies as a kid and I feel like they’re kind of underrated. Anyways, meet the new babies, hope you all love them as much as I do!!

Tiffany Bell, she/her, daughter of Tinkerbell and Terence, Uma ship, Josefine Frida Pettersen FC. A dust talent fairy, taking after her father, but definitely takes after Tink in personality - stubborn and fierce and curious, and would do anything for the people she cares about. Super excited to be able to visit Auradon with her friend group and her cousin and in full support of the VKs coming from the Isle, and is one of the first people to try and befriend the Sea Three when they also arrive. A big fat lesbian who winds up with a sort of insta-crush on Uma, and although it does take them a bit to get together they’re super cute when they do.

Priscilla “Cilla” Frost, she/her, daughter of Periwinkle, Gil ship, Sabrina Carpenter FC. A snowflake talent fairy who’s always been quieter and more withdrawn than her mom, aunt, and cousin, but is willing to go to Auradon with Tiffany because she being with her cousin makes her braver. Pretty shy and awkward and prefers to spend her time perfecting her powers and learning how to make the best snowflakes, but eventually becomes part of Tiffany’s friend group with the other Pixie Hollow kids and some of the other Auradon and villain kids. Becomes Gil’s tutor when the Sea Three first come to Auradon, and eventually falls in love with him through that.

Virgil Swift, he/him, son of Vidia, OC ship, Mark McKenna FC. A fast-flying talent like his mom, and very good at it, but not nearly as arrogant about it as her. However, he still has her intensity and absolute determination to be the best at what he does; he’s just more content to work hard and earn it. Can be a bit singleminded and too intense for some people, but also always ready to apply that to caring for and protecting his friends. First became part of the Pixie Squad through being friends with Freddie as toddlers, and though he doesn’t care much about whether he goes to Auradon or stays in Pixie Hollow he’s content to follow his friends wherever - and is especially glad about his decision when he winds up falling in love with a princess.

Rainbow “Rain” Desrosiers, she/they, daughter of Rosetta, Jane ship, Abigail Cowen FC. A fruit talent fairy with severe social anxiety who prefers to spend most of her time tucked away in a corner of their mother’s garden, tinkering with different ways to grow fruit. Not so much shy as standoffish and a bit off-putting due to her anxiety, and has a bit of a quick temper, but still has a good heart and is intensely loyal to the people they care about. Tends to be a bit awkward when interacting with the whole friend group, and only really agrees to go to Auradon because her brother is going too, but winds up becoming really good friends with Lonnie, Doug, and Jordan, and eventually becomes cool opposites attract partners with a certain fellow awkward fairy.

Ryan Desrosiers, he/him, son of Rosetta, poly Ben/Mal ship, Froy Gutierrez FC. A harvest talent who loves spending time in the fields during harvest season, but is also much more outspoken and a social butterfly than his sibling, taking more after their mom. The main hangout organizer and resident hype man of the Pixie Squad, and absolutely excited for the chance to go to Auradon and meet a bunch of new people, only to promptly get a crush on Mal when the VKs arrive. Kind of sad when she and Ben get together after the coronation, but very happy when he discovers that they both like him and want him to join their relationship. Also forms Auradon Prep’s first agricultural club, and along with Rain manages to teach all the preppy students who join a lot about harvesting and gardening.

Iris Lux, she/her, daughter of Iridessa, Doug ship, Sofia Bryant FC. A star-counting talent who, of course, is very interested in and knowledgeable about astronomy, and as a result is largely nocturnal so she can better practice her duties. The first one to start the Pixie Squad by making friends with Ryan when they were little kids, and though she enjoys living in Pixie Hollow with her mom is happy to follow her friends to Auradon. Never really gets over being sleepy during the day and energetic at night, and ends up having a lot of late-night conversations with Doug, since she gets up to count the stars and he has insomnia, and they fall in love over the course of that. A totally sweet and loyal girl who’s dedicated to her duties and works really hard to improve her talent and be a great friend, but also has a great sense of humour and isn’t afraid to be silly.

Sally Pond, she/her, daughter of Silvermist, OC ship, Lana Condor FC. Turns out to be a baking talent and not any kind of water talent like her mama, and though Silvermist loves her daughter dearly she doesn’t always know how to interact with someone so different from her. Sally is your classic bakercore girl, soft and sweet and with a love for sweets and pretty things, and above all she loves her friends and wants to make them, her mama, and her aunts proud, even if that can sometimes make her a bit of a pushover. Doesn’t love leaving her mama to go to Auradon, but is happy to if that’s what her friends want, and eventually becomes a student teacher in Auradon Prep’s home ec class because she’s the best baker in school, and also eventually falls in love with one of her best friends.

Freddie Animus, they/them, child of Fawn, OC ship (Sally’s partner), Brigette Lundy-Paine FC. An animal talent like their mom and adores conversing and playing with all the animals in Pixie Hollow, but also wants to make new animal friends beyond the ones they already have, so they jump at the chance to go to Auradon with their friends. Has been in love with Sally since they were young teenagers, but doesn’t find the strength to confess until after Maleficent’s attack at the coronation, after which they do become a really cute couple. Sarcastic and quick-witted, has a tendency to maybe not take some things as seriously as they should, but does know to take anything that concerns the people they care about. Develops a bond with Dude and becomes gossip buddies with him before he even gets spelled to be able to talk, and is honestly not super happy that they’re not the only one who can talk to him anymore.

Zane Flyer, he/him, son of Zarina and Captain Hook, Jay ship, Milo Manheim FC. A dust talent fairy who grew up in Pixie Hollow being taught the secrets of Pixie Dust Alchemy by his mom, never being told who his dad was and never really questioning it, given that not a lot of fairies who are born in the regular way rather than from a baby’s laugh have more than one parent sticking around anyway. Very loud and energetic and can be kind of annoying, so he’s not really part of the Pixie Squad but gets invited to attend Auradon Prep anyway. His mother finally tells him the truth, that Captain Hook is his father and he has half-siblings living on the Isle of the Lost, right before he departs for Auradon, and as such he decides to befriend the VKs when they arrive because he wants to try and get answers about his father and siblings, coming to fall in love with Jay and finally kissing him at Cotillon. Also eventually becomes a part of the Pixie Squad, as well as joining the tourney team and becoming unlikely friends with Chad. Astrid Bjorgman, she/her, daughter of Anna and Kristoff, OC ship (Virgil’s girlfriend), Stefanie Scott FC. Crown princess of Arendelle, but secretly planning to abdicate and leave the throne to her cousin, Elsa’s son Edvin, because she’s Ben’s best friend from the time they were in diapers and would rather be the Head of Auradon’s Royal Council. Also inherited her aunt’s powers of ice and snow where her cousin didn’t, and spends a lot of time worrying about them and trying to make sure she can control them because she doesn’t want to cause a horrible storm the way her aunt accidentally did. Very quiet and serious and studious, insanely dedicated to her future job, but also has a lot of anxiety and can often push people away when she gets too in her head. Ben’s most steadfast friend, though, and and incredibly supportive of his proclamation and even ends up becoming good friends with Carlos and Evie, as well as the Pixie Squad when she winds up falling in love with Virgil.

List of random Season/skating/Bloodweave thoughts that I don’t know justify their own asks but that I thought you might like to hear anyway:

Chapter 1, Karlach asking Astarion about pay: “Vroomvroom: so you’ll suddenly do a really shit job in week 5 then? :P” YOU CHEEKY LITTLE BUGGER, YOU (I love it, A+ foreshadowing)

I stumbled across Ryan Dunk’s “Freddy Mercury on Ice” skate, and his butt was weirdly distracting. I’m very aspec, is this what the allosexuals mean when they say a pair of jeans makes their butt look good? Why do I keep looking at his butt, shut up and let me watch the skate

The “middle finger” skate Astarion did while Gale was in the hospital was to Looking at Me by Sabrina Carpenter, right? I’m basing this on its order in my mega playlist, I can never remember what chapter things happen in and I do not have TIME to reread the whole thing again, no matter how enjoyable it would be. Anyway. I finally listened to Looking at Me yesterday, and then listened to it another 37 times. Holy cha-cha music, I was not expecting the mariachi trumpet sound. So sassy, I love it. (I did ballroom for about a year and half in high school, back in yonder years of 2011-2012. I was on the standard team, but sometimes I still get beat over the head with the urge to Do Something Latin by certain pop songs). But, more to the point, I LOVE the lyrics for this story moment. For all Amy’s strategizing about song choice and how they need to handle the narrative with Gale’s hospitalization, I think Astarion freaking nailed it—you think they’re looking at (Gale)? They’re looking at me. Media tries to make a big deal about Gale’s collapse, or Astarion’s response, or the fact that he’s showing up to Hessie’s school, or any potential leaked footage of the Mystra Kerfuffle backstage, or anything Cazador tries, or ANYTHING—Astarion draws their gaze instead, whether they want it or not (just look for the broken necks). I can’t remember the exact names of the maneuvers you can pick when you level up a fighter in-game, but there’s one that will force nearby enemies to attack you instead of your allies. That’s what this reminds me of.

Cool factoid about me: I got to go on a field trip in 1st grade to a nearby ice rink during the lead up to the 2002 Olympics, and we got to watch a skating pair rehearse their routines. After some research, I THINK it was the French ice dancing team, Gwendol Peizerat and Marina Anissina, who won gold in one of their events. The routine I got to watch was probably one of these! Honestly, the thing I remember most is the dude’s luxurious hair XD

Heads up: I am going to attempt to draw Gale & Astarion in contrasting skating costumes, drawing from male/female costumes, but making both of them gender non-conforming/androgynous. Gonna try and give Gale his long skirt. I’ll report back.

Imagine, if you will, all of Gale’s official music videos going forward incorporating dance/skating choreography from Astarion. I remember a gazillion years ago, when Lindsey Stirling was on a “dancing with the stars” type webshow where all the stars were YouTubers, her music videos going forward all credited her pro dance partner as the paid choreographer. Ice skate music videos. Piano on the ice rink. Gale singing (lip-syncing?) while skating. Outdoor skating on location. Maybe Gale skates with him, maybe it’s just Astarion, maybe it’s just Gale! Who knows. Ice skate music videos.

I have had this vivid image for… weeks, honestly, I can’t remember which chapter of my first read-through triggered this, of their final skate being some kind of dope mashup of Golden and Always You, with Astarion’s back and arms and Gale’s chest exposed, with gold body paint highlighting each of their scars. Because kintsugi. I figure Astarion would be the one to design and make/customize the costumes, cuz I do not trust Volo even in the slightest with something like that. Maybe it would pair with Cazador being publicly denounced and/or arrested, like a “do these look like they came from a fall to you??” I don’t know. Maybe there’d be a secret third song that Gale has yet to write that the other two would morph into, something triumphant to resolve the story of the skate/the songs, where Golden is kind of hindsight bittersweet and Always You is a pining song.

Ugh. I wish I had filk powers and could make Gale’s songs real. YO, FAN COMPOSERS/FILK MUSICIANS, I HAVE A PROJECT FOR YOU GIFT-WRAPPED AND READY TO GO—

By any chance, do you have video examples of the particular moves that the boys use in their skates? Both Astarion’s TikToks and their competition pieces. For reasons. No, shush, no guessing.

Gale is absolutely still working on that song he's been writing about Astarion and it's about to get a whole new angle (so, less sad and pine-y) and I love to imagine Astarion in the music video or choreographing it, haha!
