I do wonder sometimes whether Reigen had run into any unambiguous evil spirit situations pre-Mob or if he thought all his clients were just imagining things and had to do a hard reset of his entire worldview once this kid proved that the supernatural is actually real.

man can I just say how adorable Wolf's interaction with Delia in the wedding scene is? When she's explaining her situation he gives her the most understanding looks and it's because they both effectively had the same cause of death. Delia turned her mourning of Charles into part of her performance art, and died from being scammed with asps who were NOT defanged. Wolf wanted to deliver the most authentic performance possible and died from presumably a negligent armorer who didn't bother to check if the grenade was live or not before shooting. both of them were quite literally killed by their art (not by their own faults to be fair but from someone else's irresponsibility). and it's kind of lovely Delia got such a sympathetic escort back to the netherworld who knows her situation firsthand probably better than anyone else

it's weirdly wholesome and empathetic even as their situations were both played for morbid laughs, and if Delia didn't have eyes only for Charles (what's left of him) and Wolf wasn't in a committed relationship with Janet I'd even say I could have seen things going somewhere between them

I know I've been Dick (Gumshoe) posting a lot recently and it's not particularly intentional but I have also been rotating him in my mind.

Most loyal man in the world enters an institution that seems to corrupt the morals of everyone who comes into contact with it. Is incredibly shit at his job. Swears he's a good detective despite repeatedly almost being fired. Comes back every time and gets mad because everyone he cares about keeps getting arrested. Does not connect this to the fact that he arrests the wrong people constantly and the only reason he gets in trouble for it is because unlike everyone else he works with, he isn't fiddling with the evidence to justify it.

His best friend is his boss who also keeps cutting his pay because as mentioned previously, he is shit at his job. He outlasts pretty much everyone else in AA because he is the only person not constantly getting caught up in convoluted murder schemes. Presumably this is because he's too busy painting animatronics to actually notice what is happening around him.

Forgot to mention, I finally got a call yesterday - I got the job offer! Tentative start date at the end of February. Already sat down with my current employer and broke the news.

Have to go through fingerprinting and a whole background check, so that will be fun. Salary is a 25k raise, which is insane. I might actually be able to afford to exist. At the very least, I can finally pay off my student loans/credit card debt (I am still paying off vet bills from my dog's passing which obviously feels very shitty).

I want to feel excited, but tbh I've been SO depressed lately that I just feel sort of numb/overwhelmed. It's hard to imagine myself doing a job that I know is going to really challenge me when my self esteem is an actual dumpster fire rn

But logically I know I have to force myself through and do it because it could be life changing if it works out and I actually end up liking it. So I'm just putting one foot in front of the other and quietly losing my shit.................

One day I'm gonna wake up and they're gonna realise how interesting and compatible their dynamic is. Quit the unceremonious elimination of Knuckles so Shadow can get to Sonic quicker, USE HIM.

Use the similarities in their devotion to their duty, their competitiveness, mixing Knuckles' explosive but tempered willpower with Shadow's calculated but unrelenting drive, the mutual respect for one another, the acknowledgement that they are both unique in their origins and have taken up an incredibly burdensome mantle.

However it takes shape, I'm begging them to use it more. Stop wiping out the guy who punched Sonic out of his Super state with a single flick of the wrist.
