John Fox is such an interesting character because he and Wally are direct parallels to Eobard and Barry. Yet the fact that John never became a Reverse Flash, and instead carried on the Flash legacy, speaks to Wally’s compassionate and begrudgingly forgiving nature.
So first the parallels.
John Fox was born in the far off future where he grew up idolizing the Flash. The Flash was his hero, his savior. When Fox's city was being threatened Fox decided that only the Flash could save them and time travelled to get help from a Flash. John wasn't able to get help but he did acquire superspeed himself after time traveling. John donned the name ‘The Flash’ and created a Flash suit out of Flash suits he stole from the Flash museum. John Fox managed to save the future version of Central City and he got his first taste of being a hero.
Already the parallels to Eobard are obvious. The Flash obsession, the time travel, trying to be the Flash, ect. The only notable difference thus far is that Eobard had to invent crime to ‘fight’ when he was attempting to be the Flash and John had a legit crisis to combat. This legitimate need for a Flash combined with John’s willingness to step up would make him more of a Wally parallel than an Eobard parallel but unfortunately for him it didn’t last long. Due to future technology Fox became redundant. There was no need for a Flash and he was restricted to permanent guard duty at the Flash museum.
Taking away the need for a Flash made him desperate to go back in time and be a hero again. When an amnesic Wally West arrived in his century Fox saw his chance. He, following in Eobard’s footsteps, replaced Wally as the Flash. John went so far as to fall in love with Linda and strain her lightning rod connection with Wally, which trapped him in the speedforce. This was known information to John Fox. He was aware that Linda’s hope and love was Wally’s only chance at returning. What John did was akin to attempted murder. John wanted Wally's life. He lived in his house, donned his name and uniform, did his job and stole his girlfriend. He killed Wally for it. It’s really not hard to connect this behavior to Eobard who has tried to replace Barry multiple times in the past.
Fox is also not a great Flash. He’s skittish. Unsure and nervous. He’s playing the part of a hero rather than actually being one. Whereas Eobard was too aggressive as the Flash, John was too timid. Both, ultimately, were poor imitations of the originals.
This is where the similarities stop. While Barry reacted to Eobard with righteous fury, Wally reacted with anger, some sarcasm and then basically said ‘goddammit John you are helping me fix this mess or we are going to die trying’. When faced with a man who attempted to kill him and take over his life, Wally could only punch the man and be mildly snippy with him. Wally didn't want Fox to be an enemy. Wally saw potential in him. Wally saw the good man and hero Fox could be.
So Wally walked John through being a hero. He made Fox fix his mistakes, taught Fox how to save the day and by the end of it Wally ended up forgiving him. He gave John his stamp of approval, called him a Flash and sent him on his way.
This was a play by play on how to create a Reverse Flash. This was the recipe. John, by all means, should have been a villain. But Wally isn’t Barry. They are different people and they react in different ways. Wally is driven by the need to see the inherent good in people. He will always give people a second chance and, because of that, against all odds, Wally walked out of there with John Fox as a trusted friend and a Flash in his own right.
#It was like John had read Thawne's 'how to become a reverse flash' book and was doing the origin story word by word#then Wally walk in and was like 'pfft. old news.' and threw a flash book at his head#Wally was so fucking sarcastic and mad the entire time but goddamn did he redeem Fox and make a hero out of him#Wally: I fucking hate you#John: Im going to punch you so hard that you skip two decades#Wally: Im going to punch you so hard that you become a good person#John: .... what#Wally: You heard me! Pick up your fucking visor! we're going evil robot hunting you asshole#dc#dc comics#the flash#kid flash#wally west#john fox

ive been rereading tnp and it’s bothering me so much i need to mention it here; it’s kind of insane how much the erins bend over backwards to make brambleclaw deputy, it’s kind of just nonsensical.
not even him not having an apprentice when he’s picked, though that is kind of wild, he just… there’s basically no good reason other than him being a main pov character and tigerstar’s son. literally any other thunderclan warrior who’s had an apprentice (barring maybe ashfur) would have been a better choice. thornclaw dustpelt sandstorm cloudtail brackenfur- brackenfur is one that firestar explicitly considers and the reasoning why he decides not to is so incredibly weak ‘oh i dont think he’d be right for leader’ number one what are you talking about number 2 then use him being deputy as an opportunity to help him become right for leader are you telling me firestar thinks the cat he once considered letting die in a fire is a better fit for leader than the cat he half mentored. dustpelt is clearly an experienced warrior, sandstorm is someone firestar obviously has faith in, thornclaw is experienced and i’m pretty sure you even see firestar consult him a few times (cloudtail is iffy bc thats cloudtail but he’d really be a better choice, just how he treats daisy and her kits would be an interesting justification for firestar making him second-in-command) but honestly besides the narrative jumping through hoops to act like the other very viable options are either secretly bad choices or otherwise ignore them (why is bramble the only cat we ever see jump to help firestar with stuff they just wrote everyone else to be silent or w/e) but in twilight where he arguably acts the most like de-facto deputy in leaf and squirrel’s pov he’s framed as a jackass half the book??? why would you do that if you intend to make him actual leader?? in his trial run of being kinda-not-deputy you just make him use his semi-authority to be cold and fucking mean to his friend and her buddy??? like i see him being qualified due to having experience being the travel group’s leader and whatnot, but barely anything else is done to make him realistically more qualified than anyone else- he just angsts about his ambitions and gets handed the position because starclan vouched for him for some damn reason even though by his society’s laws he should not be in that position
#sorry its just really bothering me bc i am NOT seeing why he should be deputy#warrior cats#salty talks#the new prophecy#i dont hate tnp i just hate the bramble wants to be deputy plot he does not deserve that shit#not even on the level of him being a shitty guy or anything he literally should not have been picked#its probably the most egregious example of the authors just forcing a plot point instead of like. building it up realistically#literally in twilight he just comes off like he’s going to be a cold distant asshole as deputy it’s not a good look#opposed to firestar being deputy gaining his position while qualified and also through the understandable logic of bluestar’s mental state#fire just picks bramble be leafs like hey starclan says so and fires like oh ok even tho he’s literally not qualified#and also barely seems like he’d be a good choice anyways despite having been a main pov character#yes im complaining abt bad writing in the Bad Writing Cat Books leave me alone this is bothering me#adding while i read sunset; i will concede that this one does a better job building him up as possible deputy with the trust he’s given#its still just. why him (besides him being the mc) why is no one else given this trust or somewhat filling this role the same way#i feel like it would be more interesting if someone else got chosen over bramble and he had to be at peace with that#instead of oh he gets what he wants yayyy. idk switch the fox trap scene to hawkfrost trapping the new deputy#i feel like bramble not being deputy would be interesting like helps him realize that he doesnt need to be in a position of power#for his clanmates to trust him and rely on him if hes still worried abt the tigerstar’s kin thing and maybe confront tigerstar abt it

Is Donald Trump the Antichrist?
The question of whether Donald Trump could be considered the Antichrist is a provocative one that has sparked considerable debate among theologians, political analysts, and the general public alike. This article aims to explore the origins of the Antichrist concept, the characteristics associated with it, and how they might relate to Trump’s persona and political actions.
Understanding the Antichrist
The term "Antichrist" originates from Christian eschatology, referring to a figure who opposes Christ and is often associated with the end times. In the New Testament, particularly in the Book of Revelation, the Antichrist is depicted as a deceiver who leads many astray, performing false miracles and promoting a false sense of peace. This figure is often characterized by traits such as charisma, manipulation, and a tendency to sow division.
Characteristics of the Antichrist
To analyze whether Trump fits the profile of the Antichrist, we first need to consider key characteristics typically associated with this figure:
Charisma and Influence: The Antichrist is often portrayed as a charismatic leader who can amass a large following. Trump’s rise to political prominence is undeniably linked to his ability to connect with a significant portion of the American populace.
Deception: The Antichrist is known for spreading falsehoods and manipulating truth for personal gain. Trump has frequently been accused of making misleading statements and promoting conspiracy theories, leading some to draw parallels to the deceptive nature attributed to the Antichrist.
Division: The concept of the Antichrist also encompasses the idea of creating discord among people. Trump's presidency was marked by significant polarization in American society, with fierce debates on race, immigration, and national identity.
Claims of Uniqueness: The Antichrist often claims a unique role or mission, positioning themselves as a savior of sorts. Trump's rhetoric frequently emphasizes his “America First” agenda, suggesting that he alone can deliver the country from perceived threats.
Theological Perspectives
From a theological standpoint, the notion of labeling any contemporary political figure as the Antichrist is fraught with complications. Many Christian scholars argue that the Antichrist is a singular figure who will emerge during the end times, rather than a label that can be applied to various leaders throughout history.Furthermore, some religious interpretations caution against hastily assigning such titles, as it can lead to a dangerous precedent of vilifying political adversaries. This perspective encourages caution and promotes the idea that the focus should remain on fostering understanding and dialogue rather than division.
Pop Culture and the Antichrist
The idea of Trump as the Antichrist has also permeated popular culture, with some memes and social media discourse drawing explicit connections. This cultural phenomenon reflects a broader trend of attributing apocalyptic significance to contemporary political events and figures, often exaggerating their impact in the context of biblical prophecy.
Conclusion
While the question of whether Donald Trump is the Antichrist is largely subjective and depends heavily on individual beliefs and interpretations, it does highlight how deeply intertwined politics and religion can be in contemporary society. Whether viewed through a theological lens or a cultural one, the discussion invites critical reflection on the nature of leadership, influence, and the narratives we construct around our leaders. Ultimately, while the label may resonate with some, it is essential to approach such claims with discernment and a commitment to fostering constructive dialogue.

If there's one universal thing we all experience being queer, it's a pervasive feeling that we don't fit, whether that's in society at large or our own communities. People who decide you don't belong because you're different are doing queerness wrong.
We see you. We recognise you as one of us. You don't need to fit into a specifically shaped box to be here. If we believed you needed to change to belong we'd be no different than all the people who labelled us queer in the first place.
You've got this.
Hey anon. Just wanted to thank you for this message. I didn't post it before because I wasn't sure what to say (too many emotions lol) and because I wanted to be able to easily reference it again.
And I'm glad I waited because even though I'm still full of emotions and don't really know what to say or how to say it, I needed the reminder today that it's ok to be queer and express and explore my queerness in whatever way I wish and that there are plenty of people out there who would support me through it.
And that the people who gatekeep identities and determine who is allowed write or draw what and how they're allowed to do it... are in the wrong. I wish I could say I'm capable of just ignoring them and moving on, but I'm not. It hurts. It hurts to express myself and explore my understanding of my own identity through the filter of media and characters and have fellow queer fans say I'm wrong and what I'm doing is wrong and that my interpretation of this character is wrong wrong wrong.
And I hope one day these kinds of people come to realize their words and actions have caused harm to members of the community they profess to support. And that they're able to admit they were in the wrong and grow from those mistakes.
Anyway. I sorta did find some words I guess. 💛
#reminders#queer#queerness#fandom gatekeeping#identity gatekeeping#queer gatekeeping#emotions are once again heightened because I've been having some fun with a new bit of fanart#and aside from a few friends idk who else will ever see it#im afraid to post it anywhere because people are assholes and i don't have the spoons for dealing with them#fox answers#☉#aromantic#asexual#demisexual#demiromantic#being either of these is hard and confusing enough

Aaron getting into medical school and leaving exy behind at Palmetto. He makes some friends, of course, and he doesn’t feel the need to mention to any of them that he’s family friends with multiple professional exy players, including the son of exy himself Kevin Day. He’s moved on from exy and while he’s proud of the Foxes he doesn’t want to be known for it while starting this new adventure.
But obviously he’s not gonna cut ties with the Foxes, so he continues to text them and call them and he’ll be included in some of their social media posts and occasionally he’ll post something with them in it. And his new classmates and friends start to catch on that he’s the Aaron Minyard, former starting backliner for the Palmetto State Foxes NCAA champions, brother of one of the best goalkeepers in the league and close friend of many other professional players.
And Aaron absolutely dreads it when they connect all the dots. Like he refuses to acknowledge that he knows them. People will ask him like “omg do you really know the Kevin Day?” or “is all that stuff about Neil Josten true?” or “are you actually Andrew Minyards twin?” and he’ll just deadpan stare at them and just go “who?” Even worse when someone tries to treat him like a celebrity or ask him about his time as a Fox and he just gives them the most disgusted stare until they eventually walk away.
Yet he’ll keep posting with them he even increases how much he posts with them because he proud of them because he thinks it’s hilarious to watch people get pissed off at him for pretending not to know who they are and then turning around and posting a picture of himself at their games or on their annual vacations.
And when Kevin signs with the team that’s located in the same city that Aaron’s in they start hanging out all the time. They’ll go out to a bar and his classmates are shocked that this kid from their anatomy class is taking shots with Kevin Day. Aaron will just ask them “who” when they confront him and immediately turn back to Kevin to continue their conversation.
Idk just something about Aaron being this random med school kid with 3 of the best professional Exy players trailing him is my favorite thing. Also him being proud of his foxes and showing it in his own asshole way
#med school Aaron you will always be famous#him repping their pro team merch and acting confused when people bring it up#aaron minyard#aftg#aftg aaron#all for the game#andrew minyard#kevin day#neil josten
