[guy who put a lot of thought into fantasy cuisines based on regional ingredients + cooking methods + class voice] i'm SO normal about food you guys have no idea

#this is peasant food but not impoverished food #so they get a little bit of variety but admittedly some of this is Special Occasions Food #they're in a primarily grassland biome w harsh winters dry summers and high winds and would have limited access to any kind of baking #so most food is steamed boiled or stewed!#there's also a large focus on keeping sheep so the peasant class would consume primarily sheep products #the kingdom specializes in textiles #food #king drew this #worldbuilding #*small correction the south has dry summers the interior and northern region do not #dnd

I'm celebrating the NY Yankees win and Ben Rice's history making day by eating some NY pizza. I only break this out for special occasions, and I think what Ben Rice did today is a very special occasion!!! I'm very happy for him and for me because he made history and I get NY pizza 🍕 😋 😊 doesn't that look good? can we come together as a community and be honest with ourselves .. because i’m tired of seeing everything turned into an egg roll. not everything needs to be an egg roll

#i also don’t like how asian cuisine (which i am reducing down to ‘asian cuisine’ to make a point; i know it’s not one thing) is currently #being popularized into popular cuisine in a way i don’t like. just as mexican food became trendy with millennials i feel that asian cuisine #is being boiled down and capitalized upon for gen z #in a way i don’t like. because it doesn’t come with increased cultural awareness or understanding it’s just ‘oh my god i loveeeee #kimchi and butter chicken yummmm’#not that we shouldn’t share cuisine or culture or anything; just that i wish it came with more respect and history #cuisine is very informed by historical events and is an excellent indicator of cultural change #and i wish that was in the common awareness rather than just treating asian people like they’re someone you want to learn to cook from. may #be get to know them personally before you ask for their grandmothers kimchi recipe when they are not korean like. augh #also i don’t like how people think chinese food is poor people food and not high quality and full of cultural significance. u can’t say you #love asian culture and their spirituality and their food and then hate chinese people and make racist comments ab them #ik it’s in idiot american nature to be like AHHHH CHINA!!!! but stop. stop .#just like people don’t respect mexicans more now after their cuisine was popularized i don’t think asian people will gain more respect eithe #because people aren’t after you or your culture they’re after what’s on your table on special occasions #because no one wants peasant food. i saw someone post their rice and beans with egg the other day and the comments were so hateful like lol #u don’t know mexicans if you think a normal ass meal is gross or something that’s just how people eat normally #anyway. sorry for yapping i just love food #lmk if anything i said was inappropriate i am not exempt from being an idiot american #knight rambles

I was at the grocery store and encountered the cheese aisle and remembered you said you love cheese….we, the people, would like Venus Cheese Insight

hi mino i do in fact love cheese!! i’ve been avoiding eating it for about 5 years because it gives me acne but i do give in occasionally… my biggest exceptions are for dishes like birria tacos, palak paneer, and a very nice mac n cheese. it’s also in a lot of desserts…cheesecake……..

i like those super cheesey homemade 5 cheese macs; i won’t sacrifice my skin for velveeta cup mac. it has to be worth it.

as for snack cheese i tend to cave if i see smoked gouda or havarti on a charcuterie board. nibbles on that like a little rat. i have not found a plant based cheese that’s worth anything buuut violife makes a good cream cheese that i get a lot for bagels n such 👍🏻

#and like sometimes i want a cheeseburger not a hamburger #it’s just. so much better #I LOVE MOZZARELLA STICKS TOO i get them for special occasions #i’m also a huge taco lover and they aren’t the same without cotija #the one cheese i truly hate is swiss. gross #this is quite a long cheese rant for 9am #what cheeses or cheese dishes do you like mino ? :3 #msg: mino <3 #cw food
