[guy who put a lot of thought into fantasy cuisines based on regional ingredients + cooking methods + class voice] i'm SO normal about food you guys have no idea
#this is peasant food but not impoverished food#so they get a little bit of variety but admittedly some of this is Special Occasions Food#they're in a primarily grassland biome w harsh winters dry summers and high winds and would have limited access to any kind of baking#so most food is steamed boiled or stewed!#there's also a large focus on keeping sheep so the peasant class would consume primarily sheep products#the kingdom specializes in textiles#food#king drew this#worldbuilding#*small correction the south has dry summers the interior and northern region do not#dnd

I'm celebrating the NY Yankees win and Ben Rice's history making day by eating some NY pizza. I only break this out for special occasions, and I think what Ben Rice did today is a very special occasion!!! I'm very happy for him and for me because he made history and I get NY pizza 🍕 😋 😊 doesn't that look good? #on this random monday evening I'm feeling salty how growing up in my family any touches were strongly discouraged#and although I was and am loved by my family members#hugs were only for special occasions like bday or xmas and that's it. very short and impersonal#I grew up understanding that no one would want to touch me unless required by social norms#we would eat at the same table as a family also only twice per year for xmas and easters#even birthdays were “here's your slice of cake take it and go play”#affection was through service and food and care but hugs are so nice why would anyone hate hugs from a child ;-;#I don't think I ever heard and actual “I love you” from my parents either#and I tried to say ilys myself instead but it so visibly makes them uncomfy it's not even funny#too bad I'll never have my own kids to break this dumb tradition#but anyway guys tell your loved ones they're loved#it's better to say it more often than not at all#(also even my cat doesn't like to cuddle 🥲 what sort of military family is this eh)

It's been a long few days, but Beans is now thriving in her new role as a 2.8 kilogram baby gummy shark 🦷🦈
#when you are very small#and you have no teeth#ferocious#wouldn't win a fight against a goldfish#her grace the duchess of beans#who earned a gold star from the vet for being a model patient#enjoying what is rapidly becoming her heated warming pad that just doubles as StClaire's on special occasions#nah it was bought for her#specifically so I could get bubbles out of resin and dry paintings a little quicker#(and because my hands were freezing)#but I picked the one that was a good 30cm longer than I needed so she could sleep there while I worked#baby cat is delighting in all the snuggles she has received as of late#from more people than normal#tiny cat is also v sleepy because I keep drugging her food#her chirps sound different!!#I don't know if it is just because the medicine and the stitches are making her make different shapes atm#or whether the sound is a more permanent alteration because of the now-lack of teeth#but it's so funny#she keeps surprising herself#and now she has a little kookaburra-esque sound in her repertoire

I really think half my life problems would be solved if i didnt have to eat to survive
#i hate everything about it#except sweets#but i dont even mean 'savory foods yucky' i just cant tell how hungry i am#whatever. the packaging said do not reheat but i physically cant finish this pizza. however. im still hungry? i think? but cant eat#i wish theyd just make a pill with all nutrients of a meal and eating was reserved for special occasions
