One knee in the nuts, lesson learned. 😂 I now got a groin protector for hard sparring (the diaper im wearing). A groin protector jock strap style for light sparring. And a regular plactic cup to use with the two i just mentioned. Safety first, it might be overkill but at 42 i've learned to do thing a lot smarter and take zero risk where i don't need to. Take exercising for example, most people stop at one point in there lives because of injuries. But what if i told you exercising when done right should be safer then walking. It could and it should, if you program is leaving you burnt out and injured, or you're just not getting the results you want though your spending hours and hours in the gym, then it might be time for us to chat. That was hard to swallow wasn’t it? We wake up making a mental list of all the things we have to do for everyone else... work, family, friends, even STRANGERS. Below are a few habits I have worked on that have really helped me make myself a priority: ✅Create a morning ritual: I’ll elaborate more on this tomorrow, but making time to sit in peace in the morning before you have to face the world (or your household) can really change the mood of your day. ✅Make a plan: I use weekly goal planning sheets and I schedule time for myself in each one. (I’ll elaborate more on this on Wednesday). Sometimes you need to obligate yourself to an appointment to get it done. ✅ Learn to say no. Yes, I know it’s hard. But you can’t be everything to everyone if you’re sick, tired, and on the verge of a melt down! So you prioritizing YOU for 20-30 minutes a day benefits EVERYONE in the long run. Hope everyone is ready for some killer shoulder exercises. Even if you are just doing home workouts, it is important to try to progressive overload to make progress. Since most people do not have access to weights, this means that you will have to instead progressive overload by choosing more difficult exercises. A no equipment shoulder exercise progression can look like: 1. Pike Press 2. Decline Pike Press 3. Handstand Push-up (With or without a wall) Once you can comfortably hit 12+ reps, try moving onto the next exercise. If you find the pike press too difficult, elevate your hands so they are higher than your feet. To move onto the handstand push-up, first practice holding the handstand for 20-30 seconds to build some strength for the push-up.
