I first heard Kendric Lamar almost 10 years ago, when I had an apprenticeship with this one sculptor who was personally interested in afroamerican culture, so when we had music on at the background while working, it'd be anything from old classic New Orleans jazz to more modern stuff they were not playing on finnish radio in 2018. This has nothing to do with anything currently happening at the moment, I just happened to remember it. Just two whitest motherfuckers on the planet sitting quietly in a room together, not talking, listening to To Pimp A Butterfly while gluing together ice cream stick seats for a miniature swimming pool.

Finnish Christmas online radio is here again, available for 3 months all around the world! Choose from 8 totally different Christmas playlists:
Tumblr media
Jouluradio plays all sorts of Christmas songs, from classics to jazz. It gets more versatile the closer to Christmas we get. Songs in Finnish, Swedish, English and Estonian. A good place to listen to famous Christmas songs in Finnish :3
Tumblr media
Julradion plays Swedish Christmas songs only. Great if you're studying Swedish!
Tumblr media
Kauneimmat joululaulut plays the most beloved Christmas songs, both in Finland and over the world. This is the classic Christmas online radio for everyone.
Tumblr media
Lasten jouluradio plays Christmas songs for kids.
Tumblr media
Popjoulu brings you all the beloved pop and dance Christmas songs. Plays mainly songs in English, as pop Christmas songs aren't a big thing in Finland.
Tumblr media
Rouhea joulu plays only heavy metal Christmas songs - probably as the only channel in the world! Heavy metal Christmas songs are very loved in Finland. If you've fed up with the joyous Christmas songs, then this channel is worth of checking!
Tumblr media
Klassinen joulu plays very melancholic, slow and occasionally depressing Christmas songs - exactly what we Finns love and call as the classic, traditional Christmas. Plays also lots of hymns and instrumental songs. This is a channel for those who hate happy-go-lucky Christmas songs.
Tumblr media
Happy Holidays plays all sort of happy Christmas songs, also old classics from the golden decades.

Fic Writer 20 Questions
@blirzy thank you for the tag~ I think I've done this before but eh, can always do it again!
1.) How many works do you have on ao3? 65! I'm hoping to post at least 3-4 fics more before the year ends
2.) What’s your ao3 word count? 406,207 (only???)
3.) What fandoms do you write for? Okay, here's the thing. When I'm in a fandom, I mostly write for that fandom alone. Not to other fandoms. First it was Naruto (good ol' J & Fanfiction.net), then it was Transformers (with a dash of Shippu! Iron Leaguer) and now it's Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
I was most productive with the first and last fandom.
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos? Lol, I already know what #1 is
The Most Unexpected Courting (Transformers but with details from several 'verses, Sunstreaker/Ratchet/Sideswipe)
suffer in pleasure, forever and ever (SW: The Clone Wars, rotating between 4 solid ships and 1 fluid ship)
30 Days of Jazz and Prowl (Transformers, what is says in the tin)
Cake Galore (SW: The Clone Wars, Fives/numerous clones)
31 Days of Clone Wars Fictober (SW: The Clone Wars, numerous ships)
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?! I do! At one point when didn't really post anything, I didn't and it bothers me now a bit.
6.) What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? ... idk? Have I written angsty stuff? I think I have? EDIT: NO WAIT I HAVE! IN MY LATEST MERMAY! There was a few angsty chapters there, one with ended with a dead character!
7.) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Nearly all of my fics have happy endings because I don't like angst unless there's a happy ending in sight in the tags.
8.) Do you get hate on fics? Nope. Don't think I ever have.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind? Okay, see, this question here is the one that reminded me that I've done this before.
The short answer to this question is yes, I write smut. A lot of smut. Maybe a little too much smut. But I like to think that I write happy smut, not sad smut. Also, I'm very vanilla kind of smut writer.
10.) Do you write cross overs? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Does Cody getting railed by a droid called Meister-who's-definitely-not-Jazz count as a cross-over?
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen? Why would anyone want to steal my fic? While these days I've got a proofreader (as I did back in my TF & IL days, thank you @gaogaigar-the-king ) I know more than a few of them should be proofread again and so on. My fics are good, but they aren't that good.
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I know of.
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before? No, not really. I've done fic & art collab before but wouldn't mind trying my hand with cowriting if anyone were interested.
14.) What’s your all time favourite ship? ... OK, if we go with the true origin OP, it's Hatake Kakashi/Umino Iruka (Naruto) but! if I have to name my favorite character that I enjoyed shipping with pretty much anyone, that would be Ratchet (Transformers). Ratchet/ironhide, Ratchet/Wheeljack, Ratchet/Twins, Ratchet/Optimus just to name a few.
15.) What’s a WIP you’d like to finish, but doubt you ever will? That godsdamned fantasy AU...
16.) What are your writing strengths? I didn't know this before but apparently I have a habit where a short fic starts in one way but ends in a completely different but surprising way. Often seen in fics I write as replies to prompts here in Tumblr.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses? This is not my grammar. These are not my prepositions. My fic tag's called "valkeakuulas writes AKA butchers English grammar".
And that I write mainly one shots with no true plot. They be so thin, not a layer in sight. 😭
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I like dropping Finnish words in my current fics as names and whatnots. I used to drop Japanese words when wrote KakaIru (yes, I was one of those writers)
But a whole dialogue? Uncertain.
19.) First fandom you wrote for? A true Narutard reporting for duty.
Tumblr media
20.) Favourite fic you’ve ever written? I can't really say.
Nearly all the fics I've written are favorite of mine on some levels. Sure, there are ones I'd like to rewrite in some parts but ultimate favorite? I've got no memory what answered here the last time but think it was something similar.

About Me
Hello! My name is Biehtár, and I am a fully Nonspeaking Autistic person from birth. My Instagram is @nonspeakers.r.us and that's where I mainly post! I am new to Tumblr, I'm still learning my way around. About me (Autism Related): -Nonspeaking, full time AAC user -Level 3, High Support Needs -Borderline Intellectual Disability -Diagnosed at age 3 -Visibly Autistic
About me (non-Autism related): -I am Indigenous (mixed Sámi and Inupiaq) and grew up with both of my cultures -I am Visually Impaired -I love Star Wars, exotic pet care (animals that aren't dogs and cats), and jazz theory!! -I love love reptiles and birds -I am a jazz and sometimes classical contrabassist and pianist -I speak Swedish, Finnish, Northern Sámi, Inupiaq, and English! Things to Know: -I use support needs terms, and occasionally the term "low functioning" to describe myself ONLY and nobody else. -I prefer "Nonspeaking" rather than "Nonverbal" when referring to me -I do NOT reclaim the r-slur, but I do not take place in slur discourse either. -I am very new to Tumblr. I am still figuring my way around.
Happy to meet everyone!

Hi, the Finnish Duolingo course has the phrase, "this band/song grooves like a moose" (Tama bändi svengaa kuin hirvi). Is that a common phrase in Finnish?
Tämä bändi svengaa kuin hirvi.
I personally have never used it and barely ever heard it, but it is technically a real phrase at least. I don't know where it comes from, though. I found an "ask anything" library service saying it comes from the Finnish dub of Disney's The Jungle Book, but somebody has commented below the answer that this cannot be the case because music magazines had used it at least 12 times before the film was released in Finland. He suspects it's an inside thing from jazz circles (because an album review basically says so) and that somebody translating the film had heard it.
In Europe, we usually speak of elks (from British English) rather than moose.

8/25/24.
Thanks again to Monorail Music and their emails that regularly bring diverse and amazing sounds my way. A recent email highlighted the Finnish label Ultraääni Records. Many of the releases tend toward jazz, but Ville Pirinen Combat School is a Finnish psych-rock gem.
Think Goat or Dungen combined with the melodies of Per och Olof (one of my favorite releases in the past several years - I go back to this one all the time).
As a bonus, you get some really cool artwork.

Hi! Today I'm planning to draw five Käärijä fanarts while watching Centaurworld with Finnish dub, and also write a letter to Käärijä to be sent via Warner's fanmail address. I'm slightly worried what will be the state of my mind at the end of the day lol but the whole fandom seems deceased after this week so I won't look that out of place, right?
Also my keyboard finally got updated and now I have easy access to such hit emojis as 🫡 or 🥹
ALSO one of my first thoughts this morning was "Paidaton Riehuja jazz cover"
