Imagine Jedi Finn post-TROS.
Finn starting his first steps by using the Skywalker saber, starting a stormtrooper rebellion, taking on the last name Stormbreaker, and creating his own lightsaber with the technology of those who oppressed others to save people
Imagine this as Finn's Lightsaber.
More technological than mystical, sleek, efficient. Silver blade and with Kylo’s healed crystal? Sublime.
Why Kylo's crystal? Kylo was literally the physical embodiment of everything Finn feared and an almost perfect narrative foil to him as well. Taking the crystal, healing it, would be the final step of Finn overcoming his past and from a metaphorical sense, healing the galaxy of what Kylo left behind.
Finn Stormbreaker. Now that's a big deal.

Ya know, when Lucasfilm gets their head outta their ass and gives us a series led by a woman and a black man (with Luke as a background guide, and back to life cause he deserves a better fate that dying in an awful movie) about the new jedi order restoring peace to the galaxy, freeing Stormtroopers and finding the old masters (Asohka, Ezra, Cal Cestis, etc.). I want an episode/chapter in which some poor sap thinks is a good idea to kidnap Gorgu and there’s a collective “OH SHIT!” from everyone who remembers the first days of the new republic.
Ray: “Master Luke, Grogu’s gone, some mooks of the Hutt clan’s took him!”
With a terrified look on their faces Luke and Asohka look at each other: “Oh no!
Finn: “ Just called Poe, I’ve got a list of Hutt bases where he could be”
Asohka: “Very well, Rey and I will check through those bases...”
Luke “ While I take care of damage control. Finn, you’re good with people, we’re going to Mandalore”
Rey: “Mandalore? Shouldn’t we focus all our efforts in finding Grogu? He might be in danger!”
Asohka: “Mandalore takes presedence”
Luke: “Grogu’s strong, I doubt they could do much to him. Plus they probably want a ransom, so they’re gonna keep him safe. Right now the only thing in danger is the pantry of whichever poor sap thought it was a good idea to kidnap him, but only if we act quick.”
Rey: “That still doesn’t explain Mandalore”
Asohka: “...They don’t know?”
Luke: “ It’s not a topic that comes up often”
Rey: “Know what?”
Asohka: “Grogu’s Mandalorian royalty”
Rey:”...”
Finn: “Escuse ME?”
Luke: “He’s a foundling of the Mudhorn Clan, led Din Djarin”
Asohka: “The current Mand'alor, the rightful ruler of the planet”
Finn: “And that’s...bad?”
Luke: “Mandalorians take care of their own, and if the child of their living legend is missing...”
Asohka: “ They’ll carve a fiery path through the galaxy to find him”
Luke: “Din likes me, so I’ve got the best shot at delaying his wrath. And Finn tends to make friends wherever he lands, so his luck can only help”
Asohka: “But we must hurry, or the Mandalorian’s wrath will engulf the galaxy, may the Force be with you”
And so the Jedi Order rushes to rescue their hungriest member before an indestructible tin can, weilding a black lightsaber, and powered only by parental wrath rips the Hutt clan a new one throughout the galaxy, all while Grogu gleefully makes the lives of his captors a living nightmare.

I’ve only just become aware of people calling finn Finn Stormbreaker? Apparently it’s been going on for a while, I’ve just seen too much “Finn dameron” for my tastes. How do you feel about that? It sounds cool at the very least.
finn dameron is a curse upon my entire ancestral line i hate it. i think if finn has to have a name given to him by the fans, even tho it crushes my soul to resign to giving him one because lucasfilm won’t do it, i’m not mad at finn stormbreaker. it’s definitive and dramatic and i could rationalize it. i don’t think i’ll use it often if ever bc it’s really the closest thing we have but it makes me mad to think abt how it’s literally our last resort. but that’s just bitter diaspora tingz.
personally, i’d make his surname more connected to the force than the first order because that’s been with him forever so when i’m being dramatic i call him and jannah forceborn specifically bc i’m selfish and i want them to be Chosen™, and stormbreaker is a title i think of being more of a blanket surname every ex-stormtrooper should be able to use if they wanted a surname but either couldn’t find their given surname or create a new one for themselves.
#i have conflicted feelings abt but i know it was made by necessity and i appreciate it for even existing#rebelfinn#finn stormbreaker#finn#star wars#mo the force be with us#anon#mo answers

So here’s my take on The Last Jedi:
I had no major problems with the movie as a whole: good cinematography, stunning locations, beautiful symbolism. But one little thing. Just one little thing bugs me.
Finn. It felt to me like Finn just repeated his arc from Episode 7: going from running away, to fighting. Yes, I've heard the argument that he comes back for a different reason in the end, but iif someone can't watch the movie and cipher that out for their self, it's still way too similar. Here's the plot idea that I've been throwing around here and there since TLJ came out:
Finn doesn't escape when the Resistance evacuates their base. He's still unconscious, and something happens: maybe the transport he's in gets shot down or something. Either way, he is captured by the First Order, but Phasma and Hux decide not to kill him, because here's the thing: they're not stupid. If they kill the Stormtrooper that broke his programming, they prove to every other Stormtrooper in the order that he is dangerous, and more importantly, that their programming can be broken. But what if they somehow are able to integrate him back into the order. They can spin it so that "Even the Deviant FN2187 eventually realized that he could not escape his programming and came back." Whether through brainwashing or through the capture of other resistance agents who will be killed if Finn does not comply, they get him back. And he is back in the ranks as a faceless stormtrooper because he has to. He has no choice.
And then somewhere along the way he meets this cute little First Order Mechanic, Rose. The First Order picked her up off a planet where she grew up as a slave. Her sister escaped the First Order, like Finn, and joined the Resistance. She is trying to get Rose out. Finn accidentally walks in on Rose sending a transmission to her sister and Rose, thinking that Finn will turn her in, stuns him. Of course, once Finn and Rose have a chance to talk things through, they eventually realize they are on the same side and because they have no one else around them to confide in, become friends. He is even able to use her little transmitter to get information back to the Resistance through Rose's sister, who it turns out knows Poe pretty well.
Rose tells Finn that in the time that he has not been with the First Order, he has developed a bit of a reputation among the other Troopers. He is the reason that she and her sister tried to escape. "The Stormbreaker" is what the troopers call him (I got that from someone else's fanfiction about him, but I really like it). Finn and Rose eventually meet a small group of Stormtroopers that want to escape the order, and inadvertently become their unofficial leaders (among this group is an officer dubbed DJ within the group, who proves to be a traitor later). The group contains, a couple officers, a handful of pilots, a few stormtroopers, maybe one or two special ops, some intelligence officers, and several other slave-labor mechanics like Rose. Together, the group begins to set up their own covert network within the Order. Finn is their leader, but Rose handles a lot of the organization, since Finn is very high-profile and the Order wouldn't suspect a tiny slave girl, at least not at first.
All this time, the rest of the story has been proceeding almost exactly the same as the actual movie, just minus Finn and Rose and the Canto Byt (sp?) sequence. Rey still Force-times with Ben and all that Reylo stuff (which I LOVE), and Poe is still in contact with Finn and Rose.
Anyway, Poe tells Finn that he's planning on taking down Holdo, and Poe tells Finn that they need to stop the hyperspace tracking or something along those lines. So Finn and Rose mobilize their small group and get to work, but just like the actual movie, they are turned in by DJ and this time, Phasma and Hux decide that defaming Finn's image didn't work, so best just make an example of them.
And again, just like the movie, this is when Holdo rams Snoke's ship and we not only get to see Finn duel Phasma head-on, we get to see him leading his small army of "Stormbreakers" against what is left of Phasma's men. And prevailing!
Under Finn's leadership, the group steals some First Order fighters and goes down to Crayt, where the rebels are cornered. They are able to help them somewhat, but in the end it's not enough, and Rose's sister is shot down in the fight. The remainder of the Stormbreakers retreats to the fortress and Luke has his showdown moment with Ben, Rey still has her "lifting rocks" moment, and we still get to see Rey and Finn’s reunion.
So these changes would have given us more insight into how the First Order works through the eyes of several members, and would have given us more chance to explore the character of Rose AND her sister. This makes Holdo's plan of evacuation make sense, and it makes sense that she wouldn't tell Poe or Paige (Rose's sister) about it because they are in direct contact with members of the First Order, and Poe and Paige would have told her that because they want Finn and Rose rescued. Holdo would have assumed there was a spy. This completely cuts out the problem of the hyperspace tracker never being mentioned or confirmed besides it being a plot device to get Finn and Rose moving, because we would have occasion to see it used, and Rose might even be one of the people that operate it but might not know what it does until told, so once Poe and Paige tell them that, they would be able to sabotage or disable it.
EDIT: And also, it would give us more time to see Finn interact with Phasma. We see a little in TFA that she views him as a bit of a “problem child,” but we didn’t get a whole lot of Phasma action in TLJ, and I am forever sorrowful about that. END EDIT.
Also, big thing, this would have fixed the scene at the end, "Not fighting what we hate but saving what we love," because these fixes above actually make it a theme of the story that oftentimes what we hate and what we love are wrapped up in the same object. Rey and Kylo have that hate-love theme already. And Poe and Paige would be unable to stop the First Order without possibly killing Finn and Rose, so that is a dilemma for them. These changes actually make way for conversations about what "we love being contained within something we hate" cropping up all over the place. The line, though it's poorly-placed makes more sense for what the theme of the film is with these changes.
So, what do you guys think? Better or worse? Scenes that you thought needed to be addressed and fixed that weren't?

“ you know you’re the closest thing i have to a family , right ? ” and maybe it’s not the whole truth , because rey is his family , but -- he knows how complicated it is. neither of them have ever had a family , not really. only in his most distant memories , memories he’s sometimes not sure are real or just wishful thinking. still , it’s important she knows. just in case.

Ideas for Star Wars content that would have been better than the sequel trilogy.
Star Wars: New Dawn
Taking place thirty years after the death of the Emperor and the collapse of the Empire, Luke Skywalker is overseeing the growth of a new Jedi Order on their ancient homeworld of Tython. Alongside his wife, former Inquisitor Mara Jade, Luke does his best to revive the dying embers of the order with help from familiar faces like Cal Kestis and Ahsoka Tano.
However, trouble brews on Tython. The Jedi find themselves caught between the local Thythonian tribes, with whom they hold a tenuous alliance, and a colony of Alderaanian refugees who happened to be off-world when their planet was destroyed by the Death Star.
The Tythonian Tribes tolerate the Jedi since their order originated on Tython and thus are seen as a returning tribe rather than invaders. The Alderaanian Refugees, however, are treated with hostility by the locals who fear this is the prelude to a wide spread colonization effort by the New Alliance.
Enter unto this conflict: Rey: a young force sensitive girl Luke found when she was very young, Owen Skywalker: Luke’s son with Mara Jade, and Baila Solo: Leia and Han’s daughter.
Baila sympathizes with the refugees since Alderaan was her mother’s homeworld, Owen sympathizes with the tribes since he know history and understands how quickly refugees can become colonizers, and Rey wants to find a way to satisfy everyone.
These three young padawans must unite when remnants of the Old Empire led by a deranged former Inquisitor find their way to Tython.
The Imperial Remnants start to sew discord between the tribes and the refugees, and the Jedi must unite both sides to drive the Remnants away and make peace on their world.

Star Wars: Stormbreaker
The Second Order, a rouge state/terrorist organization created from the remnants of the Old Empire, is conducting attacks on the Outer Rim, trying to gain a foothold and establish themselves in a legitimate way. As they do this, they kidnap children and brainwash them into being their soldiers.
One of these Stormtroopers is FN-2187. But everything changes for FN-2187 when they are ordered to fire on civilians and he cannot bring himself to shoot.
Allying with a captured Alliance pilot named Poe Dameron, Fn-2187, named Finn by Poe, escapes, and is declared a traitor by the Second Order. But it’s too late, Finn’s rebellion has planted a seed.
Recognized as Force Sensitive, Poe takes Finn to Tython where he recieves training from Luke and makes friends with Rey, Owen and Baila. As he does, seeds of rebellion start to grow among the Stormtroopers of the Second Order.
At first it’s just one or two runnaways, but slowly something starts to grow within the ranks. Whispered words and shared concerns. Those who want to fight back, and they find friendship and family with each other. The Second Order is beginning to rot from within as more soldiers begin to break away from the brainwashing and propoganda.
It all comes to a head when Finn returns, now a trained Jedi, alongside Poe, and finds a secret rebellion waiting for him.
“We all knew it was wrong. What we were doing. But you... you were the first one to do something about it. The Stormtrooper who didn’t shoot.”
Finn received his first name when he left the Second Order. He receives his second when he returns to destroy it.
Stormbreaker. Finn Stormbreaker.

Star Wars: Red Blade
Tifa Venta is a young Zeltron girl, and a Force Sensitive. Forced to flee her home when the Second Order comes calling to kidnap her and turn her into a weapon, Tifa knows she needs to get to Tython where she will be safe among the Jedi. But being a near penniless vagabond, she doesn’t have a lot of prospects, and the Second Order is closing in.
Enter Hawk, a mysterious stranger with a sealed lightsaber whom Tifa meets while fleeing the Madalorians that the Second Order hired to help capture her. While at first dismissive of her, Hawk seems to compulsively help her when he realizes her story, and promises to get her to Tython.
Among the Madalorians is Temjin Na’Khan, a warrior who fights with a pure Beskar sword, and finds himself bored of a world that seems to offer no challenges. However, he becomes obsessed with Hawk when he kills two Madalorians while refusing to draw his lightsaber.
What follows is a chase across the galaxy as Hawk desperately tries to get Tifa to Tython while dodging danger at ever step.
Eventually, Hawk’s backstory is revealed. He was an Imperial Inquisitor who began training at the age of ten, rather unusual. Hawk broke when, in the course of his duty, was ordered to kill two children of an enemy senator. Hawk obeyed the order.
Following that, he sealed his lightsaber and fled the empire, resolving to find a place to die in the Outer Rim.
Eventually, Tifa is kidnapped by the Second Order, and Hawk rushes to her rescue. In the course of the battle, Hawk finally draws his crimson lightsaber, and frees Tifa, culminating in a final clash with Temujin.
