Have you ever looked closely at a car windshield?

The edge of the glass is painted where it is glued to the car but it has these small dots between the clear and painted glass.

These are there for a reason. When the sun hits the glass the painted areas and the clear areas will absorb heat at different rates. This causes the glass to expand and contract differently putting stress on the glass.

These dots help the glass to warm up more evenly over a larger area so the glass does not suffer stress that could cause it to spontaneously explode.

Fun fact: the Tesla cybertruck doesn’t have these.

my cat is so fucking dramatic

when I first got him I lived 5 minutes from work so every day since the day I brought him home I would drive home for my lunch break at 12 and spend the hour with him and then go back to work. I very rarely did not go back home during my lunch break even on days I didn't eat lunch at home

in february I moved and I'm about 15 minutes away from work now. close enough I can still go home on my break but far enough I'm trying to not do it every day. so I've started eating lunch at work on Tuesdays and Thursdays and going home for lunch like usual on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I don't stick to the schedule religiously and if I forget to pack lunch I just run home but I've been trying to eat lunch at work more so don't use as much gas and have more time to enjoy my break

all this to say, on days I eat lunch at work, crater is SO concerned and relieved to see me when I get home for the day. I'm talking excessive weaving between my legs and meowing and begging for pets. but the BEST part is that when I go to use the bathroom, crater hops into my lap while I use the toilet. and if I'm sitting with my elbows on my knees he comes up and puts his little paws on my legs and wont get down until I either pet him or sit back so he can curl up in my lap

its very sweet and very dramatic because I'm picturing him lecturing me for worrying him while he's being so so clingy and I love it
