I HATE tiktok and the Internet in general rn for the obsession with "oh this person's smellyyy" "Brother it STINKS over here" "BOO 💧🧼🧽🚿" and stuff like that. I wish I could put into words how demeaning and patronising that whole idea is and people implying anyone they don't like doesn't wash.
For one there's something grating about being insulted in a manner like we're in nursery again. But also WHY is that the go to insult. Why do you associate these things? Especially to those you deem "chronically online". Like I don't want to sound pathetic but it feels so nasty to me.
is it extreme to say this feels tied to ableism? And classism too?
#“take a shower” me sitting here with depression and no will to even move rn. That doesnt make me feel worse or anything#dry to wet change is also evil. and i get decision paralysis a lot and just struggle to motivate myself to do basic human tasks#and thats just me#what about the people with physical disabilities that struggle to find the energy and strength to do these things#And also like environmental factors too?#like kids can be unhygienic cause they arent being cared for and learning properly#people with learning disabilities and neurodiversity too may struggle with not being taught properly as its a “basic thing everyone knows”#people are homeless karen.#people cant afford to wash regularly#people grow up or are forced to live in unhygienic places and surrounded by smokers and alcoholics#people who are smokers and alcoholics and generally people with addiction can smell#people with health issues that cause them to sweat more#Like the list goes on#but idk maybe I'm just sensitive#anti anti#profiction#proship#neurodivergent#cringe culture#ableism#classism

Starlo's personality
I'm still confused about this man's 'true self,' gotta admit. How much of 'himself' IS there in 'North Star'?
What we know about real Star:
He's a nerd/geek obsessed with westerns; that's where he got the inspiration to build WE
He looks different than with the hat on and used to wear braces
Was shy in his teenage years around Ceroba (no idea how he acted normally) + couldn't confess to her
His mom (after killing him) says how he's never been the one to follow rules. I wonder what she meant by that. Rules, like, you're supposed to hate humans like everyone else or rules, like, no sneaking off to practice your shooting and lasso skills? Both?
Ed describes the 'old him' as a fearless leader and as a monster who could 'make his own fun in the little things' (you mean he used to be more humble but at the same time remained an ambitious risk-taker?)
Is insecure about where he comes from and what he looks like
We don't have enough info to know what he was like as a kid. I'm curious if absolutely everything about North Star is the opposite of Starlo (I don't think it is); both are kind and protective. Still, I can't help but wonder if the Starlo after Showdown, in both routes, is the real him or not. Maybe 50% yes and 50% no
Just from the end credits, the only thing I got about him was that he's kind and friendly and optimistic and charming (North Star is this way too, but more exaggerated). Nothing new
So maybe Starlo IS North Star, but more modest (aka not as exaggerated)
I'm curious about your thoughts guys.
Also I forgot to mention how he wanted to plan a PARTY for Kanako, in neutral says that the PARTY in the saloon was great (and the letter he sent was pretty charming), wants to accompany Ceroba in the Steamworks, is open about how he feels (immediately openly confronts Ceroba and calls her out; he's assertive), not afraid to get physical if it means protecting Clover & Martlet, can be pretty loud (like when he spotted Clover after sparing him in neutral, he was like "DEPUTY!!!"
I'm left wondering if all this is the real him or not. I think it is. Just maybe toned down a bit :) It's the only explanation for the fact he's been doing all this for a really long time and never showing signs of wanting to stop/that it exhausted him
#undertale yellow#uty#starlo uty#uty starlo#I wanna analyse his personality in a lot of detail#Just have to figure him out first#Is he actually a quiet shy guy or nah#Personally I think nah#Since he decided to be an entertainer#And 110% adores the role#I mean the dude successfully kept the persona FOR YEARS and dina didn't suspect he was a fraud#How the heck did he find the motivation and strength to keep up the act for that long#And use the fake accent#I don't think that's an introvert trait#I'd get exhausted after 1 day of acting#Also he wasn't as excitable as AFTER he discovered westerns#My boy just wanted a purpose and had none before#Love how dedicated passionate and ambitious he is#He took a HUGE risk by building this town but took it anyway for everyones sake#So they'd have a fun place to go to to pretend they're on the surface#Starlo DID value status but isn't it controversial to build a wild west town based off of HUMAN history#It was a risk for stars reputation in the underground and he TOOK it#He's way less selfish when you think of it this way#Sure he adored the attention but it wasn't the only motivation

I do think Tony and Carmela are an example of the trend in most fictional narratives for male rage to come from being denied something you feel you deserve (acceptance, freedom, love, a fair shot, or in this case a family of origin that loved him and a chance at a healthy adult life that wasn't fated to despair), and for female rage to come from exceeding your capacity to absorb the cruelty of others, usually men.
#not knocking the show because I think they're both amazing characters and VERY real#it's more just something I've noticed#how the narrative around a male character is often about what he deserves and what he SHOULD have and the pain of not having it#even for unsympathetic characters or villains#but for female characters it's less about want and more about victimization turning into cruelty or anger#which is probably another reason female villains or unsympathetic female characters frankly don't always have super clear motivations#though with carmela that's a strength of how she's written not a weakness#not knowing who she is without tony and being a little afraid to find out is such an essential part of her story#the sopranos#tony soprano#tony#carmela soprano#carmela#post-show thoughts

so bedrock bros centric dsmp au concept:
so tommy is older than techno, first part. AND they are both piglin hybrids with different percent of genetics. techno being more piglin and tommy being more human. which means aging kinda works weird, add on shifting (because of course i’d add that) and techno is frequently assumed to be older than he actually is.
like we’re talking significantly older, like people think he’s a full grown adult. meanwhile there’s like a three year age gap between the two. now of course we need The Pit and techno being better than most fighters despite not even being a teenager yet, when they were kids (i’m thinkin 10 and 7) they get separated.
techno grows up in a piglin community in the nether until his shifting abilities present then he gets grabbed by some human hunters who witness it. meanwhile tommy got taken from the same community that techno was raised in by some well-meaning human traders who thought he was purely human. for most of tommy’s life he isn’t even able to shift because he feels a huge disconnect to that side of himself.
so of course, when some new fighter who’s a piglin hybrid comes onto the scene tommy is a big fan. neither brother would recognize each other by sight alone, (i imagine piglins recognize each other more by smell or voice because i mean in the game they all look the same) but so much has changed so much time has passed they wouldn’t recognize each other immediately and then when things get started they don’t try. (i also imagine tommy doesn’t have a lot of experience with actual piglin things seeing as he hasn’t really actively used any of those skills or instincts in years)
that’s all i got for now i guess :p art for it soon maybe who knows :D
#bedrock bros#this relates to a post about me wanting more age swaps in sibling dynamics#how do i find more older brother tommy in this economy#and the economy is sorely lacking younger brother techno#how do i boost this economy#tommyinnit#technoblade#if i get the time strength and motivation#i might make more about this

i am going to stand on my Raph Is The Sun soapbox forever ftr. not that anyone has said not to.
i don’t mean that in an “everything and everyone revolves around raph all the time, bc he’s the most important one of them all” way. bc i’ll reiterate forever that there is no one member of this family who is the Most Important or most special, there is no member of this family who would be the most or least devastating to lose. like. if the hamatos lose anyone they’re never fully recovering.
i do mean what i say in the general sense of raph being a source of warmth and support, and in the sense that he does a lot of holding everyone together.
but more than anything when i say raph is the sun and his family is his solar system i mean like
raph isn’t the sun bc he’s the most important one that everyone revolves around, he’s the sun bc without a planetary system, a sun isn’t a sun. and i think so much of raph’s sense of personal identity and purpose is wrapped up in the roles he serves for his family so like. it just all checks out
#rottmnt raph#rise raph#rise of the tmnt#rottmnt#i wanted to talk about raph and how he picks things up that he sees as needing picked up but no one else is willing to take#substitute parenting; leadership; teambuilding; being a protector#that moment in the movie when casey says then it's too late and everyone is looking crestfallen#and raph looks around at them; and he finds the strength to be the one who says no it's not. it's not too late we can still do it.#like. it is so important#and the contrast to leo who is the other turtle with the motivational speech history#coleaders tbh but like. raph CHOOSING it over and over again choosing to step up choosing to carry hammering raw tenacity into hope#he is not a natural with words he is not eloquent but he puts so much into everything#they need hope they need motivation no one else is doing it so raph will do it for them#meanwhile leo the 'face man' who can whip up on the fly motivation with flair and charisma leo who is better at long game strategy#like for raph it's a choice for leo it's an epiphany#and the important thing is that they both get the job done that they're trying to do; they rally their family they push on#no one: me: makes a second post in the tags of a post for some reason#anyway anyone who says there's a better leader one or the other between leo and raph is a fool and a coward#theyre equally good and likewise equally both flawed and they both care a lot about their family

Hooray the minthara knockout recruitment method worked!!
#personal tag#karli plays bg3#neyrha#im very excited to see her interactions with stuff#already something she said is influencing my loose ideas of character motivations for neyrha in act 2#act 1 neyrha was like. incredibly defensive and proud and like arrogant and self confident. to mask how terrifying it is to not remember#and so act 1 neyrha was like heavily leaning into whatever she remembered of her instincts#mostly the bloodlust and knowing she’s a Scary Drow. but also more subtle things like prying more info out of others than they realize#and without revealing what she herself already did or did not know#and act 2 is like. im envisioning her trying to Find herself more/again#yes her base instinct is to like. intimidate to get her way. and to lean into the dark urge#and act 2 is gonna be more her questioning why. and like. not second guessing herself but like reflecting more n thinking more#she’s still gonna see people as chess pieces on a board; as tools to be used. if ur not useful why are you here#but she’s also gonna like. add some more nuance in that train of thought#anyway thats how im gonna try n play her that is#and im delighted minthara is shorter than her. this is wonderful#minthara with a strenght score of 18 looking like a beanpole. neyrha with a strength score of 8 looking like thay#hilarioud to me

when will genshin give us any sort of information on the underground intelligence network? we don't even have a name for it... GIVE US A CRUMB. A SINGLE ONE, I BEG.
#like. okay they just dropped that an underground mysterious group was watching diluc go rampant around teyvat against the fatui and were#like omg slayyy and he got into the organisation and reached the upper ranks and then they dipped#who are these people?? what's their goal?? how come there's members willing to sacrifice their identity and previous lives to be a part#of it?? i am on my knees begging for something more about them 😩#if we don't find out who the msyerious man that saved diluc and introduced him to the organisation is what even is the point#seriously though how come this organisation is so vast and up to all the nation's business but so far we have NOTHING on it besides what#we know from diluc's lore??#it's kind of bonkers if you think about it actually#being anti-fatui and being so incredibly resourceful and seemingly powerful since they saved diluc's life and diluc himself is quite the#unusual person strength wise#obviously we don't know what happened but it's just so intriguing#i wonder if other characters could work for the organisation too?!#i want to know how this organisation was formed so bad#i think the motive for their existence intrigues me so much because i'm so sure the fatui and the tsaritsa aren't the bad guys#obviously they do a lot of questionable things and it's fair that people like diluc and others that have been hurt by them want to#bring justice into the world but i doubt the tsaritsa has bad intentions#i think that's also why i like the theory of crepus being the missing harbinger só much#i would pay so much for diluc to have a realisation moment in regards to his father and the fatui#i just think that sort of character exploration would be so much fun#but regardless of that i am gnawing at hoyoverse front door pleading for more on the underground organisation#truly one of the things i'm most curious about in genshin

smth that's good to remember about dark is that he's doomed. he'll never get what he wants. he can never get what he wants. he's allowed to 'dream' (to desire) but not to 'wish' (to attempt to fulfill those desires.) the other thing that's good to remember is that he's already redeemed. dark will never be able to have his own body or to love who he wants to love. he'll never have the true freedom and individuality that he craves above almost all else. he, as he is, can never be or become a proper human being- as a live artwork, he too is just a 'thing,' a hollow vessel for human emotions. alone and by himself, he's unfeeling and inanimate, no matter how otherwise convincing, no matter how beautiful. all of his 'feelings' are like single droplets in a dry well that evaporate in an instant. dark has no true heart, because he's an artwork. he has no humanity, no great amount of emotion alone that he himself can muster up or express. if he has anything inside of him then it's that very nothingness; an empty cathedral made up of restless, dissatisfied desire; a somber, passive longing to juxtapose krad's obsessive behavior. it's thus only with a tamer, or daisuke, that dark truly becomes someone. more than just a ghost, a phantom beneath the floorboards. the point is, despite daisuke's own terror of those around him rejecting him as worthless and unnecessary in comparison to dark, dark will always need daisuke. not just want, but quite literally need; 'to dark, i am a necessity.' dark doesn't admit it and very likely never will but he's already saved and endlessly comforted by daisuke's presence. there's the part of him that rejects others' comforts and attempts to reach out because of his own understandings over himself (he's doomed, he's already used to being avoidant and subtly excising himself,) but also the part that decides he just doesn't need any of it because he always has daisuke with him --- he's redeemed. he has someone to rely on and to always trust and to be proud of as his 'other self.' dark will never say it (both out of pride and guilt) but he'll always, always admire daisuke for the strength of the boy's emotions and the stubborn goodness of his heart.
#*・゚⊰ 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐒. ⊱ ✦ › OUT.#reference.#i cant find the post i made commenting on satoshi's page @ insomnia so im just typing all of this shit up again#w more detail this time#saying it a million times until all 28943885 of my followers understand it. dark is not human. dark will never be human#emotional depth is an inherently human quality. dark doesn't have that. he can't Feel Shit alone. he has no heart. he's empty#it's DAISUKE who serves as his heart. both literal and metaphorical. daisuke who's his body. whose emotion dark reflects n vice versa#the hikari artworks all work in the same way: human emotions enter the arts and then produce magic#and anyways dark's pride and dislike of pity aside. he really is comfortable for the most part now#if it could be said of him. he genuinely. from the bottom of his heart loves and admires daisuke as another self#it's not a 'i don't ever need comfort bc im bitter' case. its 'you dont have to worry about me bc i already have sb to rely on' case#for dark and daisuke their relationship almost always remains the same. as long as the other is there#they can find some kind of strength to keep going#dark needs his heart. he has to protect it. to keep it safe. to keep it motivated and inspired#daisuke needs his dream. to have a direction that he can keep stepping forwards towards. something to proudly accomplish#for others- accepting only one half of the equation never works. to love dark you have to acknowledge dai#to love dai you have to acknowledge dark#etc

Speaking of all that i am finally sorting more things out for the War of Flies in my lore. Originally i was just going to have it be a territory dispute but i think im going to make the clan that Phrauge fought discover things that they Shouldn't have about phrauge.
Trolen has a GIANT labyrinth type situation SUUUPER deep underneath plague and theres various ways to access this labyrinth. The burrow market namely has a tunnel system that leads to it that Phrauge has heavily guarded. I'm thinking that the clan that phrauge sniped has a bigger/safer access point to this labyrinth, and was threatening to reveal it given that Trolen Hoards Dead Imperial Bodies To Play With Like Dolls (make emperors out of). Despite Phrauge belonging to the god Anura, Trolen has ties in the private council, so when the pc discovered that this clan had this information, they immediately went to stifle it.
Ofc other clan retaliates, which leads to a several year long war w a LOT of tensions bc news cld slip at any moment. U kno. But phrauge digs up stuff abt the opposing clan and at one point it turns to a stalemate where one side is just Waiting for the other to try and drop anything.
The other clan finding a way to blast the citizens of phrauge with the information regarding the labyrinth (which was previously forbidden from the public per the dragons of vermin), info regarding the pc, etc. etc. Is what leads to phrauge straight up decimating the other clan with the help of Trolen & Pentes, & those two perform what is called the Erasure. Aka they wiped everyones memory of the events and replaced it with the regular ole territory dispute war. But it only reached a certain amt of distance, and for phrauge citizens who were out of the country, they still remember what the dispute was originally about.
Anura is trying to reverse the erasure especially as those who remember are starting to become more & more confident, and the general public is starting to question like. WHY theres no dragons left of the other clan. Let alone why theyre not even allowed into the territory theyve supposedly won. Bc while the malignant redwood IS dangerous, phrauge born citizens (pre war) know how to navigate the forests bc they were previously allied with the opposing clan, and were on decently good terms. Esp in regards to the sciences & study of the redwood. So its like. Why would the clan suddenly decide to take over this territory when they had access to it, and why did they go as far as to wipe out the entire clan. And why is there no documentation of the war. Why can no one remember what they did to the clan. Half of the soldiers who fought in the war dont even remember going through the clans cities let alone remember the battles after the 3rd year of the war. How does an entire army not remember anything past a certain point.
Etc
#the dragons of vermin unfortunately dont fuck with their secrets being let out and unfortunately the opposing clan didnt realize#the strength backing the clan of phrauge#they assumed that anura was the owner of the labyrinth and the one claiming imperial bodies & given that anura supposedly died#they wldve thought they were only facing the clan. and that the clan was continuing to nurture the imp bodies underneath#two individuals from this clan encountered trolen herself and did not make it back to the surface to warn their clan#finding out that drsgons r deliberately raising emperors is info enough to bring plaguebringer Herself down to the wasteland#and those who expose the perpetrators are rewarded VERRYYY handsomely which ws a big motivator for the clan#there were some who didnt Want to do that given that they didnt fully know what was going on beyond dead imp bodies they just assumed haha.#emperors down there.

Have you read ACOTAR? I’m reading them currently and can’t decide if I like them or not
nope, i started it a couple of years ago but didn't like it, so i dnf pretty early into the book. sjm and i simply don't click. her stories and her writing just aren't really for me, i guess. i heard that the second book in that series is pretty good, so maybe that will sway your opinion?
#hope you either get into it enough to like it or find the strength to dnf it.#feeling on the fence about a book is VERY annoying#when i can't make my mind up about a book that tends to put me in a slump (bc i can't dnf but i also don't feel motivated to continue)#i hope you fare better with stuff like that!!!#anon#answer

I know every agent after the class story makes that joke about how they're jobless and homeless, but it only settled in for me how Eight feels about it after I finished Secrets of the Enclave as well.
He was definitely bouncing between masters and jobs, with the latest being the SIS and the CEDF (mostly Saganu), which I like to joke that Saganu is like his foster stepdad who lets this delinquent crash on his couch with an open-door policy when he gets fired from his job or his latest adventures don't pan out despite being 10 years older than him max, but he's on the fence about whether either of these places are really where he wants to stay. I also like to picture Eight laying down on a fancy chaise lounge like he's seeing a shrink whenever he visits Saganu who is also sitting in a nearby chair and tiredly asking what he wants to do with his life from here, lol.
The SIS...has been lackluster. It's been interesting getting to work for them and better with encouragement from Theron, but he can't see himself doing it long term and he's already pissed off every Sith in 2 square miles after about 2-3 jaunts in Imp space. The war was never very meaningful to him, and he gets the sense that it'll die down soon if it gets left alone without him fanning the flames.
The Chiss are home too, but that's complicated, and he knows he's not one of them. He'll never be despite all that he's done for their people. Theirs is a proud race and even if Saganu and Nosta swear House Miurani will always hold him in high esteem, he sticks out like a sore thumb amongst their populace and the intricacies of their society elude him. Not to mention someone with such a violent past as his doesn't quite fit in their non-confrontational policies, and he only does private hits to get around loopholes for Saganu. (I'm still livid I didn't record the stupid little blaster twirl and grin he did after shooting Syndic Zenta point blank as if he didn't just kill somebody in cold blood. Stop showing off.) As much as he could peacefully eke out his days in their service, it's dull to him and neither he nor Nosta have gotten over their psychological traumas enough to face each other fully.
The Alliance in his storyline is also effectively disbanded immediately after the Traitor Arc, so he has no home there in the first place-- along with mostly negative connotations. Lana and Theron will always nab him if given the chance, but all three of them need space after the garbage fire of an alliance they made.
So what is he doing now besides having an identity crisis?
This doesn't help the growing list of random jobs he's hopped on and off, but I actually feel as if...he could be recruited by the Imperial Reclamation Service. By temporary contract of one Talos Drellik, because if there's one thing those archaeologists are in short supply of, it's muscle. Eight would be shocked too when given the offer: "do I look like a researcher to you?" and Talos would cheerfully deflect by pointing out his thirst for understanding Sith like Jadus and his own affinity with the Dark Side, to which Eight has no rebuttal.
It's true; he does secretly dream of a world where everyone can communicate and connect with one another through the Force, or non-Force users can co-exist with Force-users without being shut out from one another. Jadus' protection allows him to be incorruptible from places steeped in the Dark Side, and he's a rare and capable agent who would be better protection than a Sith who would most likely steal artifacts for their benefit rather than help the Service reclaim them.
And, Talos would add, you might find that preventing and safekeeping relics of untold power is not unlike saving the galaxy from conspiracy, my friend. The Reclamation Service battles entire legions of separate armies in a relic arms race each day! You'll never want for excitement and bloodshed, if that is your calling.
Eight would harumph, but he'd cave; he's rather weak to the thrill of adventure that means something to him for once. And if it helps him reconnect or eventually reunite with Jadus, who is out there somewhere...well, he'll take any chance.
#swtor#I headcanon the Imp Reclamation Service occasionally does get these special officers who they can send in alone into hot battle zones#to grab especially dangerous relics that could wreak untold destruction#and these agents are especially tough and capable because of the galactic arms race always happening over these#think about it. nearly every swtor villain has stumbled on some random relic that could decimate#whose job is it to prevent that in the first place?#also I live for more Talos and Eight adventures#Talos gets excited every time they meet up bc he breaks out all this measuring equipment#and waves this radiation measuring thing to track the strength of Jadus' force bond and taint on Eight each time#he's trying to write a thesis on the effects of sith lords on their underlings#Eight finds it mostly amusing but also gets whiny when Talos takes too long poking him like a hematology major#LotS is apparently a lot of tomb robbing so it'd be extremely funny if he came at the behest of the Rec Service#and malgus thinks he has some greater motivation and he's like no. i'm just here to take back the shit you stole
