And now... The Weather

Well, I've hoped this moment would come for 10 years. Welcome to Night Vale was the first podcast I ever listened to, and as a scrappy little singer-songwriter in college I wanted nothing more than to someday have my music featured as the weather.

Two years ago I submitted a song I'd written back in 2014 from an album I'd released of old demos and music I'd written when I was just getting started. (I felt a desire to preserve my early music after losing my even earlier songs when Myspace migrated their servers and destroyed much of the music that had been posted there, including all of mine.)

Two days ago I found out my song had been chosen for the 12 year anniversary episode that released today. What a wild decade. Back when I wrote this song, I never would have thought that 10 years later I'd be composing music and doing sound design full time for video games. Thank you for picking my music, and thank you to anyone who's listened to & supported my music for the past 10 years. I was just talking to @smilingsynernist about the ending of 'Father Kevin'.

Ya know, the one that seems to be saying that Kevin was his own father, and now is the father again to himself?

And how everyone was upset, because Kevin's father from what we know of him was likely abusive and that doesn't match at all with our Kevin?

And how that's a seemingly impossible timeloop without Desert Bluffs, StrexCorp (and Lauren Mallard) and all kinds of things being around any more?

Ok but get this - we know that there's infinite versions of everyone right, many vastly different to those of them we know. For example, there is a Dana from a warring world that is more vicious and aggressive than our Dana.

So...what if it's less that our Kevin's father is himself (as we know him), more that Kevin's father is another version of Kevin from another world who also met with a boy who was himself and raised him as another Kevin and that this is a strange loop Kevin is in where each adult Kevin meets with a child double of himself and feels compelled to raise himself and does whatever kind of job that adult Kevin can do with whatever life he's had.

Kevin's raising Kevin's, never the exact same Kevin, just a Kevin?

I was really geared up for a groundbreaking episode- season finale, Kevin in the title, Abby and Cecil’s mom and dad lore, The Boy and foster mom Tamika, anticipation of Carlos’ reactions to Kevin, Mother Lauren and her relationship with the Smiling God and Kevin, Charles the Theologist being perfect for the job since it’s a religious problem, great episode for a million guest voices…

This was- um- kind of underwhelming?

could we please talk about that sleepover the Foxes had after Baltimore because i think it was so sweet.

like in tfc they two groups hated each other and couldn’t stand each other and then in tkm they all ended up sleeping in the same room after what happened to Neil (since he was also the one who united the two groups ig).

“Matt and Aaron shoved the couch out of the way” as much as Aaron says he hates Neil, even he saw the importance of being together that night and even helped and hopefully didn’t argue about them all being together which that i also find really sweet.

they all have their issues but they’re united when it matters, i also think this was a turning point where they didn’t care about their feud they just wanted Neil back after almost losing him.

i think that if neil was at the nest and in one of those bitterly angry situations when he's so sure he's going to kill riko moriyama he'd stop because jean looks afraid of him and he hates it when jean looks afraid of him. like jean would be 90% of neil/nathaniel's impulse control at the nest, he just wouldn't do anything to hurt him
