Why you should watch Fairy Tail!

I’m so stupidly proud of this! Although most people who will see this, have probably already watched fairy tail and are part of the fandom, if anyone hasn’t, please give this show a shot, people talk shit about it, but at its core, friendship is its main theme, and why would that ever be a bad thing, if anything, that’s one of the best messages a show could ever have.

I truly ruined my standards for anime after watching this show, nearly ten years ago, because no matter how well written a show or book maybe compared to fairy tail, nothing holds a candle to the way this one anime, made me feel, and I find myself wishing I was watching it instead 🤣

I think I want to refine Precht in the future but I did enjoy coming up with ideas for them. Warrod is the largest departure I've taken from the og design so far. Either way hope this meets your expectations!

I imagine Mavis as 19-20 when they meet her giving us about 10 years before she dies. And Zero itself would take place about 300 years, give or take, before canon so we get a nice bit of time for things to change.

hi! i’m trying to get back into the actual manga as well as the anime! do you know what chapter is currently the most recent? whenever i try to google it the answer is seems to be out of date 😭

Hello! So the Fairy Tail franchise is sorta divided into two parts: the original manga, and then the (main) spin-off.

The original manga has 545 chapters, divided into 63 volumes. Just search for “fairy tail chapter 1” and scroll to a site that works for you (skip the fairy tail wiki for example). I use readfairytail.com because it includes extra content that the volumes provide, and not just the plain story.

Then there’s the main spin-off manga, set right after the original manga ends. It’s called Fairy Tail 100 years quest (often shortened to 100yq, ft100yq or hyq for simplicity). It’s just as easy to start reading that one, just search for “fairy tail 100 years quest chapter 1” and you’ll find it just as easily. readfairytail.com has this manga available as well.

Fairy Tail Zero is technically considered a spin off, and I honestly can’t really remember if readfairytail.com includes it in the original manga, like just adds it where the anime does, or if you gotta find it for yourself. Pretty sure it’s the former.

There’s also a couple of other spin-offs: Fairy Girls, set during the Grand Magic Games arc, Fairy Tail Blue Mistral (which I haven’t read in ages), Hero’s (a spin-off that includes Hiro Mashima’s other series: Rave Master and Eden’s Zero), Fairy Tail Gaiden: Lightning Gods (can’t remember if I’ve read this one yet lol), Fairy Tail City Hero (kinda modern au? Set in a world where the Fairy Tail guild is a police station and all members are police) and lastly Tale of Fairy Tail: Ice Trail (which I honestly can say that I’ve never read).

To answer your question though: the very latest chapter of Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest is chapter 172: “Seis VS Sechs showdown”. The upcoming week (week 48) will provide us with ch 173: I never know exactly when it comes out, but I can always read it on Wednesdays in Sweden, every other week (even weeks).

This became a long post bc I wasn’t sure what series you were asking for, main or hyq, so I just gave you a rundown just so I didn’t miss anything. Hope that’s fine!

I just finished the Zero Arc… and what the fuck… Zera??? The WHOLE TIME?? honestly did not see that coming at all I was sobbing 😭😭😭 who ever voices Mavis ate in the recording booth, the gut wrenching sobs as she realized her only friend who was practically her sister was never actually there and dead this whole time??? Killed me.

Okay concept for Zera. When Mavis realizes the truth of Zera's existence, at first she disappears. Then a couple days later she reappears with a more... realistic appearance. By this I mean she has injuries from the night she died. But additionally she has a small tail, a symbol of both her strange nature and the way she has been a driving force for Mavis. Additionally she fully grows up because Mavis interprets Zera as being unaffected by the curse.

I had this dumb idea in my notes for months! 🤣 I just haven’t had the motivation to try drawing it till now.

After all the crazy stuff Natsu drags her into, Lucy probably relies on coffee to keep her going, especially early in the morning. I imagine Natsu wouldn’t like the taste but wanted to try it simply cause Lucy is always drinking it.

Mavis always swore that if she had a daughter, she would name her Zera

They have matching best friend bracelets. Mavis wears hers on her ankle tho

They are both incredibly intelligent and would often spends days in their library gathering as much knowledge as they could

Zera is really fond of lizards

After Mavis tells her story to Fairy Tail, the guild adds a grave for Zera next to Mavis'

She is considered a founding member and is honored as such from then on

The girls are both really competitive. Especially with each other

Zera is super neat and organized while Mavis is usually an unintentional mess

Mavis has a habit of losing things, but Zera always knows where they are

Mavis is an optimist and Zera is a pessimist

They cuddle all the time

They have a secret handshake. No one is allowed to see it
