Why you should watch Fairy Tail!

I’m so stupidly proud of this! Although most people who will see this, have probably already watched fairy tail and are part of the fandom, if anyone hasn’t, please give this show a shot, people talk shit about it, but at its core, friendship is its main theme, and why would that ever be a bad thing, if anything, that’s one of the best messages a show could ever have.

I truly ruined my standards for anime after watching this show, nearly ten years ago, because no matter how well written a show or book maybe compared to fairy tail, nothing holds a candle to the way this one anime, made me feel, and I find myself wishing I was watching it instead 🤣

So me and my sister have been rewatching Fairy Tail and she suggested I post so,e of y, old sketches. I honestly forgot about some of them cause I’d show them on my Instagram and think that everyone’s seen them

But anyway, this was inspired by an idea my sister had where the all Dragon Slayers were created by Zeref, idea of him taking care of them as his children was just too good not to draw, so take some really old art from like a year and a half ago.

I have quite a few back logged sketches so it’s gonna be Fairy Tail for a bit

I kinda wish the final arc of fairy tail focused more on Natsu and his stuff with zeref and like fairy tail guild reaction to it

Like through the entire series is was always Natsu rallying people to help with their problems. He’s the one always protecting and helping others so I think it would have been a nice full circle moment that in Natsu’s darkest hour of learning he’s END and all that fairy tail would support him despite his past because that is the core theme of fairy tail.

Zeref… the boy who loved into insanity… my beloved, no one understands you like I do. You just did what you thought was right. You just wanted to save your dear brother. Give him the life you thought he deserved. You didn’t know the consequence would be to kill everything you loved, you didn’t know! You didn’t know!

And to then fall in love with Mavis… to think you once again had the chance to love someone, but your curse having the strength to steal the life of another immortal… being so filled with love that it defies law… I can’t even imagine how painful that must have been. Having mixed feelings — wanting to get the chance to live without death surrounding you, while also wanting to have your life taken by Mavis’ curse… oh Zeref…

Zeref and Gray

Something that always kinda struck me was how similar Gray and Zeref all are. Like they are dark haired, dark eyed, pale, emotionally constipated, and cold boys. I don't know if it was purposeful but the way they share these characteristics along with being brother figures to natsu is kind of wild and a little sad if you think about it. Like maybe it was a small piece of memory or instinct but the idea that maybe natsu got so close to gray is because he is zeref could have become if he didn’t go mad with grief. The version that he was when he was happy.

Gray and Zeref parallel one another in so many other ways then looks and personality. Both of them lived a happy life until everyone they loved were killed by a monster leaving them to become the only survivor. Both of them turned to magic, and their own hubris and need for more caused the loss of the system that taught them (death of Ur, zeref's expulsion and curse). The difference comes from what they did after. Zeref isolated and fell deeper into grief while Gray found a support system. They both eventually meet(create?) natsu and have a brotherly relationship with him but zeref pushes him away despite being his blood brother to be raised by igneel, while gray acts like his brother in all names but blood. The parallels between Gray and Zeref and their relationship with Natsu really brings the idea of blood family vs chosen family and how it's your own decision that affects your destiny.

I suppose this can also be Alios x Mio but In my head it's the modern AU from ending 15 where Zeref and Natsu are brothers who live together and ZerVis can finally live happily.

I need more fanfics of the Modern AU where the brothers live happily together.

(I just realized how awkward I made the bouquet but let's ignore that... Also I now realize Mavis's proportions look awkward too...)
