The dainty sound of lone silverware clinking against china echoed through the spacious dining room, reaching to the peaks of the two-storey ceiling and each corner of the lavishly decorated walls. At the head of the lengthy hand-carved mahogany table, you kept your gaze downcast to your plate, carefully slicing through your steaming supper to spear a bitesize piece with your fork. The tick of the clock on the ornate mantle blanketed the room in the weight of the passage of time. The fire crackled beneath it. You still felt chilled.

“How is it?”

The buttery voice cutting through the eerily silent room had your eyes raising from your plate to gaze down the table to the man at the other end. George looked almost humorously small at such a distance; the two of you taking up a table that otherwise would be used for royal galas of a good few dozen people, you were sure. Over filled platters of whatever food you could possibly want, handmade by private chefs, stretching the length of the sizable table, you offered him a polite smile.

“Lovely. Thank you.”

“Is the roast cooked to your liking?”

“It’s perfect,” you assured him softly, “No complaints.”

George smiled back at you, a gentle smile that made his eyes sparkle in the candlelight.

He had kind eyes. That’s what you first noticed about him when you met. The kindest, sweetest gaze that almost had you weak in the knees. He was so handsome, so easy to trust.

He lifted his crystal wine glass to his lips and sent you a sultry wink over the rim. You turned your flushed gaze back to your plate, your heart racing.

You shared the expensive feast together at the expansive table by candlelight and the warmth of the fireplace. The diamonds on your designer bracelet glittered on your wrist with your every polite movement as you ate daintily, calmly. Yet another gift he had bought for you, doting on you like you were a princess. You couldn’t say no. He wouldn’t let you say no.

It was his way he showed you that he loved you. That you were safe with him. That you were his.

After dinner, George excused himself to the drawing room. He always disappeared there for a half-hour after dinner; having to collect his thoughts from the day and wind down a moment before the rest of the evening. On his way past you, he left a kiss to your head and gave your shoulder a firm squeeze before leaving you all alone in the vast dining room.

You took your time to fold your napkin and set it on the table, staring out at the barely touched serving platters that would be going to waste the moment you stood. Now with a non-existent appetite, you pushed your chair back and rose from the table. A better time than any to have a nightly walk through the never-ending hallways of the mansion before George would be expecting you to bed.

You walked across the marble floors of the vast mansion as the sun set, your red bottom heels clicking faintly, rhythmically, like a heartbeat. Crystal chandeliers hung above your head, glinting the orange fading sunlight that came in through the floor to ceiling French doors along the exterior wall of the corridor. Your home was that of Versailles; a jewel among the countryside, glittering in wealth and luxury. There was nothing you had to complain about.

George chose you. He brought you into his home. You were set for life.

At the end of the hallway, the space opened up into a music gallery. It seemed you were still managing to find new places to explore in the mansion. You had never heard George play or even speak about music so you figured the gallery was simply there for looks – and to host the impressive cream grand piano in the centre of the rounded room. Ghosting past it, you let your eyes linger on the pristine wood and details of the carvings along each edge and corner, each black and white key polished and untouched. It was almost a shame.

The mansion was dimmed to a hazy illumination as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the world in ink. You took a few cautious strides across the room to the set of French doors at the far end and you pulled them open to reveal yourself to the impending night. The crisp breeze ruffled through the trees that filled the acreage and blew through the body of your flowing dress in ripples like the ocean.

Stepping out onto the balcony, you breathed in the fresh air and shut your eyes to take in the moment. For a second, it truly felt like it was just you in the world; a chance at serenity.

Just as you lifted your hands towards the stone railing, someone grabbed your hand tightly, startling a yelp from your chest.

“Shh,” George stepped right up behind you, his other hand sliding around your middle to pull you back against his chest, “it’s just me, love.”

His velvety, grinning voice sent shivers down your spine, his fingers tightening around your hand.

“Where do you think you’re going, hm?”

You swallowed thickly, staring out across the perfectly manicured grounds as you answered him stagnantly, “Just getting a breath of fresh air before bed.”

“Mhm?” his lips ghosted across your jaw, reminding you in a firm but gentle tone, “You know I don’t like you going outside without me.”

“Sorry,” you exhaled.

“We need nothing more than our love, darling, you know that.” he pressed a slow kiss to your neck, his thumb gently caressing your waist as he held you firmly to his body, “We can just leave the world far, far behind us, and stay here in our sanctuary…together.”

You looked down at his hand holding yours, wincing slightly at the grip he held on you, your fingers squished together in his hand. He kissed your neck again and breathed you in deeply before resting his face against yours as you stared out at the gardens together under the starry sky.

“I love you, my darling.” he promised into the inky night, his voice sultry and provocative and so incredibly calm.

Down below the balcony, just a few yards out of the way, your eyes lingered on the black vintage Mercedes in which you had been bound and gagged by him only a few short weeks earlier, taken to this place to never be seen again.

You were sure there was no way out. You were going to be here, trapped with him, until the end of time.

He looks like some Normal Dude. But he has somethin’ weird going on with him and the sheer power he holds (that is just a part of who he is) literally crackles in the air whenever he feels extreme emotions, and his most extreme emotion is usually anger (though one time he was super excited about something and he did hug Legend and Legend could’ve SWORN he got shocked, but Sky didn’t say anything about it and it could’ve just been static electricity so he brushed it off). It’s not really something you can SEE, but it’s definitely something you can feel in the ground beneath you, in the air around you, and it’s making all the hairs on your neck and arms stand up

- His pack is full of a bunch of very tiny wooden flowers he intends to give to Sun because he carves one whenever he thinks of her. He went to so many places and saw so many things, and yeah he was fighting for his life the whole time, but he had more of a chance to see the beauty of what was around him than Sun did. And while yeah she can just go see it now, he likes carving her pretty little things he sees on his journey so he can share some of that with her

- He has a LOT of anxiety surrounding like, not getting enough done or not finishing things on time. He hates sitting around doing nothing and he gets very stressed if he can’t complete something before the deadline he’s set for himself, whether it’s an important large scale thing that effects other people as well or just some little hobby he has. Hs gets very anxious when he’s late and/or feeling rushed (mostly due to always being JUST too late to catch up to Zelda and also the silent realms)

- Related to that, when he’s stressed and rushing, it’s VERY hard for him to stop and take a breath and slow down. He’s able to acknowledge that will help, but he physically can’t do it. When he’s overwhelmed and feeling that “you’re too late, you’re not fast enough” shit, he literally can’t slow down, he only goes faster. Which isn’t good at all because his mind works much quicker than he does and then he just gets frustrated with himself for being physically incapable of moving and faster, and for getting exhausted. Someone either has to make him sit down and stop (in situations where they can, like minor scale things like Sky’s hobbies, or just situations where someone’s life isn’t in danger), or they have to help him finish whatever he’s doing because otherwise he literally won’t stop

now imagine, if she thought that he was perfect then how would he feel? the answer is: he's absolutely smitten. since the moment they became a couple, he was always with her. even when he wasn't, he wanted to be with y/n or would be texting her about how much he wanted to be with her. taerae was so lovestruck.

leftovers? they didn't exist anymore. taerae ended up putting them back into the fridge after settling y/n onto the couch and ordering food delivery for the two. maybe he could've taken her out to eat so that she could forget whatever was on her mind, but he knew her. she wouldn't want to go outside on a day she was sad.

"food will be here in 15 minutes," taerae informed, falling into the couch and laying down so his head would be on y/n's lap. he looked up, seeing her smile slightly just having him with her. "there's that smile that i love so much.." his hands ended up cupping her face, pinching her cheeks while she whined in protest. "wanna tell me what happened today?"

and so, y/n began ranting about how her boss had yelled at her for the whole morning even though she had done nothing wrong. "i just felt like breaking down in the bathroom by then but there were 3 hours left of my shift," she let out a sigh exasperated, "i'm so tired, taerae. i shouldn't be treated like this right?"

"you shouldn't, you don't deserve that," taerae agreed, changing into a sitting position to put his head on her shoulder. "i would hit your boss if it wasn't considered assault."

the two stayed in the same position the entire time they waited for the food, not doing anything but basking in each other's presence. it was nice ; peaceful. it was exactly what y/n needed after a day where she was constantly yelled at.

after finishing their food, taerae and y/n ended up in his bedroom to take a nap since they were stuffed from their meal. he was sitting down at the end of his bed, waiting for y/n to come back while passing time on his phone. but once she came back, he was in for a surprise.

y/n was wearing a different shirt, his shirt. in some way, taerae might've just fallen in love with her all over again. "is that my shirt?" he asked, a bright smile on his face as y/n walked closer to the bed and sat down beside him.

"yeah, i didn't want to sleep in my clothes.. they were too rough," y/n explained, looking over at taerae while fixing her hair, "is that okay?"

"okay? it's more than okay! maybe you should just keep the shirt, it looks better on you anyways," taerae placed his hands on her thigh slowly, patting her leg while he admired her.

"okay— well, let's go to bed! i'm tired," y/n looked away from taerae while pretending to yawn, feeling her cheeks burn up at his words.

the two got situated in taerae's bed, facing each other in silence. "did i do a good job at making you feel better?" taerae asked, running his hand through her hair.

"you did, just like always," y/n gave him a soft smile, nodding her head while she started becoming drowsy, "thank you for always being there for me."

"what can i say? i love seeing you happy," taerae smiled as he stared into her eyes, slightly tilting her chin while he suppressed a kiss onto her nose, "i would do anything for you, always."

before he knew it, y/n had leaned in for a kiss on his lips after he pulled away ; she could feel him smiling through their kiss. it started with small pecks, slowly progressing into a longer one before they parted and stared into each other's eyes for a moment. the moment was perfect.

taerae wrapped his arms around y/n's waist, pulling her closer to him as she rested her head on his chest ; nuzzling her head to be even closer if she could. but of course, taerae couldn't go to bed without peppering her forehead with more fluttery kisses ; making sure he didn't miss a spot. the two slowly drifted off into a slumber, holding each other close.

You two end up being quite the duo, much of the dismay to everyone else when he insists on having you assist him during any medical procedure- even if it’s something that requires urgency, he’ll take his sweet time showing you every little thing.

Though you could literally be covered in blood and gore and he’d still see you as the sweetest thing- like you could barely hurt a fly!

even whilst you’re wielding a hacksaw and acting like maniac, he’ll always chastise anyone who tries to question your mental stability, you’re the kindest soul he knows! why would that be any cause for concern?

here’s some context- i’m sorry it’s so long: before, when i was in that relationship, i was allo af. it was my first time feeling that rose tinted disney magic they describe to you. coming from a loveless home, it was everything to me. but sadly our breakup was handled horribly, and personal things happening as well wasn’t helping either. that was three years ago now. the year after was senior year of high school, i was really really depressed. i was numb, it’s all a blur. then freshman and sophomore year of uni, i tried again but felt no desire. i was with the sweetest, kindest person once but i pushed myself when i shouldn’t have and it made me feel worse. just felt like i was checking off boxes. and now i’m a junior and still nothing but im content with that.

In this whole story is amazing how everything is clear and there are this enormous inexplicable question marks at the same time.

Like one opinion I read A LOT after papgate was how it is possible to reconcile the L’s image we got on the press tour to the one we got after. Many people hated on him so hard saying he’s actually an icky, immature, not kind person. But guys every person who actually knows him and worked with him for years has just praise for him. They describe him as the kindest, most considerate, sweetest person. And anyone who has been following from earlier that this year knows he had that energy as well in all his old interviews and his past relationship with Jade.

For sure it does strike as a guy who doesn’t have the stronger personality. He’s clearly a little insecure and very quiet. People like that tend to get a little influenced by their closed ones but it doesn’t mean that they’re bad people at all. Rory, Tom and Jack have been L’s best friends since they were practically kids. His life changed so much those are probably the friendships he wants to keep to ground himself in his past life as N does with her (Maeve, Camilla). It’s not always easy to ditch your childhood friends even when you start to grow in different directions cause there is history there.

At the end of the day I feel like we’re all putting too much weight on a subject that is light: we’re talking dating life people… and there are no kids or marriages or families in the middle.

Okay he ended up his lover boy relationship with Jade and she got immediately with another dude so he lost it a little cause he was also going thru his first leading men era and so started dating a young hot girl that fits perfectly with his best mate’s girl. So? It’s for sure a little silly and what I can say is “oh Lukey you’re going through it” but he’s not marrying her or knocking her up and it seems she treats her with respect. Maybe he didn’t want to date anyone too seriously so he chose someone who most likely wasn’t looking for her endgame partner ?

The truth is we don’t know. We don’t know how things played out between him and Nic nor if he’s just in a rake’s phase or just heartbroken.

What we have is the AMAZING way in which Nic talks about him. And that’s the thing I trust the most.

Come on I consider myself a good personally but I made my mistakes in the dating life and I dated for love and I dated for other reasons. It happens. Love is messy. The way of the heart is complicated. And it’s impossible to be always perfect at the eyes of everyone.

What I see is A getting spoiled like a queen around the world and N being treated very well and admired by her costar and friend during the press tour. This doesn’t speak too bad about L. And even the Raya stuff. Who didn’t get on dating apps after a breakup… dating apps are superficial sadly…

The only thing that “pains” me (it’s not that deep lol) is that i am totally convinced that L and N are “right person wrong time” and that L is gonna realise it too late and regret it for a looooong time.

But they have their friendship which I see going strong for years. They’ll have different with their future significant others to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Polin season you’ll see
