We are in second period now. I required the boys to do some social studies and language this session. I appreciate their zeal for math and science, but as a former humanities teacher, I must object to neglecting them entirely. Simon is watching his at double speed. I would object, but I did the same thing with my two-hour course this week so I don’t really have ground to stand on.
Whatever emotional fluke we had seems to have passed. I took the boys out to play four-square yesterday afternoon and that helped. I have been remiss on their PE regimen, but it’s cold and my wife has been cramming for her counseling certification so I’ve had a LOT of time with the boys. I’m trying to make introvert time, but the reality is, I’m pretty much the boys’ only social interaction most of the time. I’m looking forward to Tony and the girls getting back at the end of the month so we can get this co-op up and running. Until then, I will need to find some healthy social outlet for the boys and myself.
