Questions and answers below the cut!
1: AMSG and MPCS Nezuko and Tanjirou. Knowing what an elevator is, which of the 12 Kizuki would you not want to be stuck with? And which one would you not mind? Why, for each?
I would rather throw myself into sunlight or be decapitated at a snail's pace, than be stuck in that box with Douma or Hantengu. Douma is unbearable in the Infinity Castle, I do not need to be in a tight space with him. And if I have to put up with Hantengu in a tight space for more than five minutes, I'll either decapitate him, or beg for my brother's ghost to take me to Hell. It'll be a hell of a lot more peaceful than Hantengu wailing for gods know how long. As for who I wouldn't mind, I would say Akaza or the siblings. Akaza at least knows when to be quiet, and Gyutaro and I can keep Daki calm if needed.
I second that. But if I had to pick, I'd prefer Douma over Hantengu to be stuck with. All Hantengu does is wail and cower, at least Douma only talks. Even if it can be incessant. I would also pick the siblings to be stuck with, over Akaza. He would try to start a fight, I'm sure. Daki and Gyutaro at least know not to do that, least of all in an enclosed space.
2: Burning Ribbons Kamado siblings, same as question 1.
If we're stuck with Douma, then there's gonna be a fire and a casualty. And it isn't gonna be pretty when we get out.
I'm not dealing with Hantengu, either.
If I had to pick who to be stuck with, I'd say Lord Kokushibo. We're closest to him in terms of our personal relationships, so he's likely the most tolerable.
Yeah, I think so. He seems like a good pick.
3: To SE&BH Yuichirou, How did the situation in the Swordsmith Village happen, and who was with you? Did anything interesting happen, and how did you feel if it did?
At first, I was with that Rengoku kid, and his demon. Then that fan demon blasted me away, and I had to face Upper Five and nearly drowned in the process. Not to mention the poison. But I pulled through. I don't really know what happened, other than the fact Nezuko and Genya were also there and kicked some demon a**. Nezuko damn near got eaten, I heard, but the demon got properly decapitated in time. I'm sure she would have figured out a way out before she got eaten, though. Better than I did. Y'know. Getting poisoned and trapped in a water pot...
4: Sunlit Blossoms Kamaboko Squad, What would be your reactions if you were turned into demons? Like Tanjirou.
Nezuko: I'd be pretty shocked, but I guess it's gonna be okay if we're like Tanjirou. As long as we don't get his lack of self-preservation instincts, because he has given me way too many heart attacks by nearly burning to death!
Zenitsu: WHAT?! Demons?! Us?! I'm probably gonna die from accidental sun exposure, knowing my luck?! *slap* Ouch! Sorry, Nezuko. Didn't mean to freak out that bad.
Nezuko: Deep breaths, okay?
Zenitsu: *nodding*
Inosuke: Ha! A demon like Gonpachiro? Then I'll be even more powerful, and all will bow before the King of the Mountain!
Kanao: Normally, I would decapitate myself and the others. But if we're like Tanjirou, capable of resisting our need for human flesh... I suppose exceptions can be made.
Genya: I probably wouldn't change that much. It's basically making my powers full time, so it won't be a massive adjustment.
Aoi: Well, I would certainly be worried. Mostly about Kiyo, Sumi, and Naho, as well as Miss Shinobu and Kanao. But if we can control our hunger, then I suppose it's not as bad as it could be.
Senjurou: Stay close to Tanjirou and Nezuko. They're probably going to be the biggest help.

The comedic subversion of Hashibira Inosuke
Hashibira Inosuke is easily one of Kimetsu no Yaiba's most iconic characters- his wild and eccentric personality combined with the now famous boar's head mask are bound to leave a strong impression. Yet, it is in subversion of his own comedic traits that Hashirbira Inosuke finds himself the star of one of Kimetsu's most emotionally compelling moments. Spoilers ahead for the whole KNY manga, read ahead at your own discretion.
Of the primary trio of Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu, Inosuke's introduction is the last; coming at the very end of the Tzuzumi Mansion arc. However, it proves an effective introduction, introducing us to Inosuke's primary character traits: His recklessness, his full-frontal approach to fighting, and his tendency to mess up on people's names. While many of these traits are played up for comedic effect, all of them do an excellent job conveying Inosuke's background- he's a wild child, raised by wild boars and mostly removed from other people, leaving him with a boar-like approach to life, and general awkwardness regarding human interactions- they are also one of the most iconic attributes of his character (perhaps in no small part to Matsuoka-san's tremendous voice acting for the character, and his legendary 'Inosuke noises').
I will be the first to admit, I find Inosuke's struggles to remember the names of those around him to be hilarious. Combined with his absolute self-assurance, the delivery never fails to get me laughing. From Inosuke's earnest distress calling after "Kentaro" when Tanjiro is flung away by the Father Spider Demon on Mount Natagumo, His stoic determination in the Recovery training forcing "Monitsu" to come with him, to his iconic declaration that he will bring "Kamaboko Gonpachiro" down. Throughout the story, Inosuke's serious and self-confident demeanor is contrasted by these goofs. While I speak only for my own experience here, it was these moments of goofiness contraste by the serious and confident demeanor that Inosuke carries that warmed me up to his character. If Inosuke's only role had been the 'high-energy, high aggression, rival'? Let's just say it would have soured me real quick.
Even more, this is an aspect of Inosuke's character that isn't dropped- he continously uses either incorrect names for people, or weirdly descriptive nicknames for them, like how he consistently refers to Rengoku as 'Old Goggle-eyes', or how he takes Uzui's declaration that he is the 'God of Festivals' at face value. The audience is conditioned to know that Inosuke's moments are consistently both cool, and well needed moments of levity in the series' high-octane battles.
Inosuke's other primary trait is his aggressive desire to prove himself- primarily to Tanjiro. From the moment that Tanjiro bests him with a well-timed headbutt, Inosuke takes it upon himself to prove that he's better than him. He openly provokes Tanjiro, yet finds his attempts to fight the other boy thwarted by Tanjiro's eternally dense kindness. Inosuke views Tanjiro as his 'classic shonen rival', while Tanjiro just refuses to catch on. It's funny, especially in a genre so steeped in melodramatic rivalries. While these moments of provocation are mostly limited to the story pre-Red Light District Arc, Inosuke still has occasional moments of "See, look at me Tontaro, I'm better than you" sprinkled throughout the story.
SSo, then we find ourselves in the series last act- Sunrise has come, Kibutsuji Muzan has been defeated. Yet, instead of a moment of reprieve, the surviving Corps members are quickly forced to jump into action to slay Tanjiro, who has turned demon, with all of the former progenitor of Demons' cells, and the ability to withstand the light of day. Tomioka calls everyone to action, and the members of the Kamaboko Squad are forced to go toe-to-toe with their friend and brother. Inosuke recalls the promise they made to kill the other if they became a demon. Instead of the typical Inosuke move, Gotouge uses theis moment to hit a home run on the reader's emotional state. Instead of proclaiming "Kamaboko Gonpachiro, I'm gonna take you down!", how does he respond? Like this:
Tumblr media
"It's no use Tanjiro. I can't do it", and just like that: Bam! Gotouge-sensei hits it out of the park! This moment is an utter reversal of everything Inosuke has been characterized with. In a rare moment, Inosuke actively refers to Tanjiro by his proper name, and in a reversal of their 'rivalry' thus far, it is Inosuke who is now unwilling to fight back.
What an example of utilizing a character's comedic traits, and subverting them to up the emotional stakes! Certainly, this scene, which serves as a culmination to Inosuke's relationship with Tanjiro, would not hit nearly as hard if the audience hadn't been conditioned ot expect levity from Inosuke. If we hadn't grown used to Inosuke trying to no avial to pick a fight with Tanjiro, if after his introduction, he had started using characters' proper names. While I can't say for certain this was always Gotouge's goal when keeping these traits around- but it's a heck of a way to subvert them for the maximum emotional impact.

Sleep Kyojuro x Gn!Reader+Kamaboko Squad
Tumblr media
Hello and good morning! (here in our country) 😊👋🏼, i would like to make a request where reader (gender neutral) is loved by the kamaboko gonpachiro squad because they see them as a parent figure. During a mission they defeated a demon that turns people into little kids so they got reverted back into children for the time being and reader is very fond of children so they volunteered to take care of them (which they spoiled them a lot🥺💕). By the end of the day reader and the kids fell asleep and kyojurou comes home to see this very adorable sight and joined in to sleep beside them. (Super fluff please!☺️)
This is such a cute request!! I absolutely adore it! This took so long to brainstorm and write, but it was worth it. I'm so sorry this request took so long, I've been busy with school and my personal life, but now that I'm on summer break I should be able to start writing more! -Chaos
Characters in this: Kyojuro, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke.
Triggers: None really, Unless if you count the Kamaboko Squad being turned into children for a short period of time. But this is all fluff!
Requested: Yes
🗝️Requests are opening soon🗝️

Everything happened so fast... Too fast..
Just a moment ago, You can your fellow demon slayers were on a mission, a simple mission, just kill a demon, Usually this is never too hard.
That was, before it died.
This demon was a bit different from others, it didn't have some crazy blood demon art that was deadly, no, no, it's blood demon art was able to revert others into small children, even into baby's. But this demon was still deadly none the less with it's physical strength, speed, and stamina.
This fight was going on for a long time surprisingly, and it was just one demon. Technically it was four against one but... This demon was fast. Faster than your friends, but certainly not faster that you.
You managed to do the final blow and decapitate the demon, as you watched the monster in front of you fade away into ash...
Tumblr media
"Tanjiro? Zentisu? Inosuke? Where did you guys go?" I asked as I put my sword away, They were just behind me, they couldn't have gone far, all I did was finish the job.
I kept looking around me, that was until I felt a soft tug on my sleeve.
"S/O!" A small voice said, I looked down to see Zentisu as a small child. He had to have been six or seven, maybe younger. After that, Tanjiro and Inosuke came into my vision.
It took me a moment to realize what was going on, The demon managed to turn my friends into children before it died. I must have been too fast for it to handle...
"S/O! What happened to us?" Tanjiro asked as he looked up at me, all three of them looked confused, even Inosuke looked confused, Which I didn't blame him. If I got randomly turned into a small child while fighting a demon I too would be hella confused.
"Tanjiro, I think that demon turned you guys into kids... Let's just head back to my place, I'll take care of you three until things get back to normal." I said softly as I swatted down and patted Tanjiro's head gently, He smiled.
I took both Zentisu and Tanjiro's hands into mine, Inosuke was up on my shoulders holding onto me as we walked home.
Everything felt... Different, In a good way.
I've always been fond for children, I've technically always wanted kids, as they make me happy... Besides, I'd love to have a family. Especially with my husband Kyojuro.
I know my friends have also seen me as a mother figure, I'm technically called the mother of my small friend group, which I don't mind. I actually like it, it makes me feel... Loved.
Eventually, we made it back to my home, I lived with Kyojuro, but he was busy at the moment, so it was just me and my friends.
"How about I make us something to eat, It's been a long day. You three go relax, you've worked hard along side me." I offered, the small kids in front of me smiled and nodded, honestly, it was really cute. They ran off as I walked towards our kitchen.
[Small timeskip and P.O.V change to Kyojuro]
"Darling! I'm home!" I called out as I stepped into my shared home, it was late and I knew S/O would be home. After all, they usually finish missions before me.
I was answered with silence, which was new. I usually get a response, either that be a hug or a simple answer from them. But this shouldn't be an issue, maybe they didn't hear me?
I gently set my sword down and I walked over to the kitchen, maybe they were in there?
Nope, not in there! But I did see that the sink had some dirty dishes, did they have guests over?
Just as I asked myself that I turned and saw a note on the table, along with a fresh plate of food that was still warm. They must have made it a few minutes ago.
"I made dinner for some guests, I made sure to save you some. It's your favorite, I love you. -S/O" I couldn't help but smile, They always manage to stay kind towards others. It makes my heart beat faster than it should, but in a good way!
Once I finished eating my dinner, I got up and kept looking for S/O. Knowing them they are most likely asleep, after all, it is late.
I walked to our bedroom and opened the door to a sight I didn't think I'd ever see.
There was my darling sleeping, but with three children all around them. One on each side, and one in their lap. They looked like their fellow demon slayers... Now that I think about it.
Those children ARE their friends.
Zentisu, Tanjiro, and Inosuke, all three of them were turned into little kids? I won't ask now, I'll wait until they get up, I wouldn't want to disturb them, after all, sleep is important.
I gently climbed into bed and laid down next to them, they gently opened their eyes and shuffled a bit, making room for me to cuddle up next to them and their friends.
"I hope I didn't wake you up dear." I said softly, they returned with a smile and small chuckle.
"No, you didn't. I've been awake, these guys however are asleep." They said as we both looked down at their small friends.
"A demon turned them into kids, I don't know how long this will last." They said as they looked up at me, I just smiled.
"Well, at least they are safe... Goodnight my flame."
"Goodnight Kyojuro."

Back to back... Zenitsu X reader
Tumblr media
This is a Kny modern AU starring our fabulous lemon boy Zenitsu!
.。*゚+.*.。(❁´◡`❁)。.。:+*
Enjoy~
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were an… interesting individual to say the least. Not so much that you could be classed a scumbag, but you could unabashedly say that you enjoyed the occasional fight on public transportation as much as the next person… It was a welcome distraction, one where you could pick sides and silently rate the insults exchanged between the involved parties. What you did not appreciate however, was being caught in the crossfire.
You should have known of the chaos that would ensue as soon as you saw them get on the train. A weirdo in a boar mask. Check. Another weirdo, dressed like a lemon that looked like he was perpetually on the verge of tears… Check.
The last of the troupe looked normal, with pretty red hair and gentle features. But looks could be deceiving and judging but the fact that boar mask had repeatedly referred to him as an “underling” you knew his kind face was probably a façade and that they were in league with one another.
At the time their peculiarity had only served to spark your curiosity, allowing you to momentarily escape the monotony of your own life and enter into the world of their colourful attire and animated conversation. Boar mask or “Inouske” as you’d come to know by overhearing their discourse, was engaged in a histrionic display of attempting to jump out the window and pit his speed against this “beast” that was the train… probably an acting student. You’d also watched as the crying lemon tried desperately to restrain his eccentric friend.
Their idiosyncratic ministrations caused you to erupt in a fit of withheld giggles and made you wonder of the interesting adventures that would arise from being a regular in their company.
Such was the blissful state of ignorance you found yourself in. But once enlightened you’d come to realise that it was not acting, nor anything cultured that functioned as Inouske’s motivation for wearing such bizarre animal skin, but rather to hide a glaring absence of brain cells.
The start of the era of aforementioned “enlightenment” was commenced by raised voices, for a few incoherent shouts later and you had realised you were witnessing the beginnings of an argument… about what, you could not tell.
A couple moments later the lemon and the boar were engaged in a heated exchange whilst the man you’d come to know was named “Kamaboko Gonpachiro” had restricted Inouske by the underarms. Again, you had almost been enjoying the front-seat experience but - to your own detriment - the boar slipped out of Gonpachiro’s grasp, and he sent the lemon flying in your direction.
You briefly heard a pained grunt of surprise, but you hadn’t the time to analyse the particulars of the sound any further as before you knew it his sturdy back had slammed into your face. In any other context you might have welcomed the notion of being smothered by built muscle, but you were on a rather stinky train going home and of all the empty cars you had to have been seated near some (newly regarded) boisterous fools and a drunkard singing Beyoncé.
Gone was the simplicity of an evening train ride. You get on, you get off. Bob’s your uncle. Was it too much to ask? Apparently.
Anyway, back to the matter at hand. With murder on your mind, you pushed the lemon away from you and cupped your face. As if your body was sharing your mental vexation, blood started to dribble out of your nose and onto the train flooring. “WAAAAH! IM SO SORRY MISS,” he screamed. You decided to dignify his apology with a curt scoff; this fool has the audacity to look more distressed than me! “Save it, just leave me alone.”
Kamaboko was busy scolding Inouske and offered up his apologies along with a handkerchief, but you waved them off and told them to forget about it. They’re probably worried I want to press charges…
The lemon, however, completely ignored your dismissal, continuing to ask desperately for your forgiveness and for a way he could make amends (whilst Inouske snorted arrogantly in the background). You, in a wave of sympathy and despite initial annoyance, agreed.
That was how you ended up in a small coffee shop on the corner of a quiet road. What you hadn’t expected was for you both to become good friends and for it to become the spot for your regular rendezvous. You’d come to learn allot about the lemon you now called Zenitsu. He, despite occasionally being overbearing, had a kind heart and was quick to make you laugh, so you had asked if he wanted to meet again, he’d accepted (a little too enthusiastically), and you’d become increasingly fond.
There were also casual gatherings - on occasion - with the rest of his enigmatic companions, ones you enjoyed very much, but had always found such meetings could never allow you to hold the same sort of enthusiasm you did for the almost intimate setting you and Zenitsu would frequent together.
However, on one such visit to said setting, there had been something noticeably different about his behaviour.
These observations were substantiated by the understanding that you had recently come into the knowledge he was interested in you romantically to some capacity and – to your own amusement – it was becoming progressively evident.
He’d been fidgeting in his seat, fiddling with his hands, and tripping over his words. Not to mention the fact that he’d turned a bright shade of plum red. You subsequently decided to humour his antics and dissipate the tension.
“Stop blushing, it’s running your colour scheme.”
What, in your mind, served as a witty, ice-breaking, apprehension abolishing conversation starter was met with more blushing and followed by awkward silence.
Tough crowd…
“um … Yn-chaan” Eventually, his timid voice broke the silence and captured your attention.
“hm?”
“I- I like you.”
You smiled into the cup and took a long sip of your hot chocolate “Yeah, I like you too Zenitsu.”
“NO YN-CHAN NOT THE NORMAL LIKE-”
Rolling your eyes, you let out a laugh “I know what you mean…”
And I mean it too

In honor of Tanjiro's birthday, here's they/them Tanjiro having a good fluffy InoTanZen time (mainly InoTan but don't worry):
(gotta run but I'll fix the formatting and tags later)
"Oi."
Tanjiro began to look up, only to see movement. In the next moment, Inosuke was on their bed and curled up atop their sheets. His mask hid his face but his mannerisms and scent told Tanjiro what was wrong in an instant.
"Missing your Monitsu?" Tanjiro teased, reaching forward to pat his shoulder.
"Our Monitsu." Inosuke corrected, easing up at the touch. He didn't deny their question.
Tanjiro just laughed softly, letting their hand linger and taking on a teasing tone. "He's only Monitsu for you. I don't think I'd get away with a nickname."
Inosuke pointed at them suddenly, but Tanjiro knew his antics enough that they didn't even flinch. "Because I'm the best at nicknames, Gonpachiro!"
They rolled their eyes at him but noted a strange smell. Or more accurately, a lack of smell. When Inosuke got hesitant, his scent diminished. "Inosuke?"
"Do you like your nicknames?" His usually deep and booming voice was soft. "Monitsu does, I can tell, but you hide what bothers you."
Tanjiro took a moment to consider it. They recalled the day they'd asked the two to use they/them pronouns and later caught Zenitsu and Inosuke fighting. Well, it had seemed like fighting at first. In truth, the two were taking turns talking about Tanjiro while making use of their current pronouns.
Tanjiro still remembered the slight disappointment when they overheard Zenitsu get it wrong, earning him a slap from Inosuke. While they started to feel bad, they had perked up at Inosuke's words through the door.
"They'll forgive you. But they mean too much to us to get it wrong. We care about them and we're going to train until we get their nouns right."
Tanjiro smiled softly at the memory. Inosuke wasn't even clear what a pronoun was, but still made such an effort along with Zenitsu. If they asked him to, he'd probably drag Zenitsu away for more training, learning only to say "Tanjiro".
But did they want that? Tanjiro was unsure if the nicknames truly bothered them anymore. In truth, it was kind of exciting always going by a mashup of names. There was something underneath that always tied the jumbled syllables together that told them who Inosuke meant. An inflection, a little affectionate sound, they were sure Zenitsu would be able to point out what it was exactly, but it was there.
Tanjiro shook their head and softly smiled. "No, I think I enjoy your nicknames."
Inosuke jumped up from the bed excitedly. "Then spar with me, Kentaro Gonpachiro Kamaboko!"
Tanjiro was too busy laughing at the ridiculous name and apparently took too long. Their laughter only continued when Inosuke hoisted them up over his head and ran out the door, the bedsheet caught up between them and creating a billowing cape effect behind them.
Aoi would probably kill them for dirtying a bedsheet, but laying on it after the sparring match was fun. The grass made the sheet a tiny mess of hills and valleys that felt so nice to lay on.
Between the smell of sweat and grass and sun-warmed fabric, Tanjiro felt utterly at peace as they rested on the thin sheet. Inosuke splayed over them, crossed arms and head on top of Tanjiro's stomach and the rest of his body perpendicular to his friend.
"Body heat's comfy." Inosuke answered Tanjiro's unspoken question of why he wasn't simply enjoying soft ground.
They supposed the ground was cold compared to the blazing heat given off by their shirtless partner.
Wait. Partner? Hm...
Tanjiro raised a hand, slowly putting it to Inosuke's upper back. They felt tension almost dissipate from the boar kid and it spurred them on. They rubbed gentle circles around his back, wishing they knew enough about massage to make this better. But perhaps comforting was enough.
The serene smells of relief coming from Inosuke was enough to make the day perfect. They closed their eyes and nodded off until a familiar scent had their heart racing.
They woke to yellow hair and fabric and a gentle hand pressed to their cheek. "May I join you two?"
"Always."
Zenitsu gave Tanjiro a quick kiss and pressed a little peck to Inosuke's hair before settling down with the two.
Best. Birthday gift. Ever. Tanjiro fell back asleep in absolute joy and love.

Giyuu Tomioka
You’d heard a faint scream in the distance as you were taking your usual stroll around the outskirts of the small village you resided in. You knew the scream all too well at this point; one that radiated the need for help.
You clenched the blade on your side and proceeded to run towards the aforementioned noise, making quick work of the ground as you all but glided across it.
The faint sounds of what seemed to be a bird talking also came across your ears.
“...demon! ...Tanjirou... trouble!” Those were all the words you could make out from where you currently were, but whoever this Tanjirou person was seemed to be in trouble. You were also well aware now that you were probably about to intervene with the Demon Slayer Corps, which made you feel slightly uneasy.
After a bit of sprinting, you finally came across a huge, relatively vile looking demon; along with it, a boy with a checkered haori, and another... boy (you assumed, given the lack of shirt) wearing a boar mask. Both were heavily wounded, the boar-wearing one more severely than checkerboard.
You feel like you’d hidden your presence well enough to land an attack on the demon in question, so you drew your sword; with one swift motion, you muttered, your breathing as steady as possible:
“Total Concentration: Breath of Water... Twelfth Form: White Water Riptide!”
Your sword sliced through the demon’s neck effortlessly, two thin streams of water following your sword, encircling the demon’s neck to deliver the killing cut.
As you landed softly onto the ground, you sheathed your sword, taking a deep breath as the demon’s head flopped on the ground with a heavy thud beside your feet; the ribbon you had tied in your hair had accidentally flown off when you killed the demon, landing in front of you as well.
The two boys in front of you just stared at you, the dark red haired one’s jaw was slightly agape. You couldn’t get a read on the other, though. But you were pretty sure his face was the same way.
“What?” You glanced at them, blowing a few stray strands of your hair out of your face as you addressed them.
“Who the hell are you?!” Yelled the brutish boar, who had way too much energy for looking like he’d been slung to hell and back.
“Inosuke!” Yelled the other, scolding him. “I’m terribly sorry, ma’am!” He bowed his head, grabbing the back of Inosuke’s head and making him bow along with.
“We’re forever in your debt! Thank you for saving us!”
“Kamaboko Gonpachiro! Fight me!” Inosuke yelled in protest as the other’s hand gripped the back of his neck, still forcing him to be in a bowed position.
You leaned over to grab the ribbon from the ground, tying your hair back up as you stood straight again.
“Don’t mention it-” You said curtly, pausing mid-sentence and furrowing your brow. “Say, are you two part of the Demon Slayer Corps?”
“Yes ma’am!” Responded checkboard haori. He’s so polite. You thought to yourself.
“My name is Tanjirou Kamado, and this is Inosuke Hashibira!” He added, removing his hand from Inosuke and walking up to you. You were still incredibly puzzled as to how he was walking considering how damaged they looked.
“Why did the pig called you Konosuba Gazpacho?” You tilted your head, looking at Tanjirou. “Did he get hit in the head during your fight?”
Tanjirou stifled a laugh, but the other boy was definitely not pleased.
“LISTEN!” The half-naked one yelled, “Just because you saved us doesn’t mean you’re strong! Don’t go thinking you can talk to me like that!”
You snorted, rolling your eyes a little bit. “Yeah, okay.” was all you responded with.
Meanwhile, in the midst of squabbling with Inosuke, you hadn’t noticed the familiar presence behind you.
“You.” Came a familiar voice, and you froze. For the first time in years, your total concentration breathing had ceased momentarily; heart leaping into your throat. Your head turned slowly to look behind you, eyes widened as you gazed upon the raven haired man behind you.
He had dropped his sword, something that shocked the two boys in front of you.
“Giyuu-san!” Tanjirou yelled, his eyes lighting up as he addressed the water hashira. “Do you know this girl? She just saved our lives!”
You took a sharp breath of air, completely numb to all of the sound around you.
“Is that? Is that really Giyuu?” Is all you could think. Your hands were clammy, but you turned your body towards the taller man. You looked at his face, and noticed two glimmering lines of tears streaming down his face as he spoke your name.
Almost immediately, you were also crying. Your chest felt like it was on fire as you ran towards Giyuu, hugging him with enough force to make him stumble backwards, landing on his back as you lay on top of him, practically sobbing.
“Oh my god, it’s you! It’s really you!” You repeated over and over, pressing your face into Giyuu’s chest, his arms were wrapped around your small frame, pressing you closely against him.
“I never thought I’d see you again!” You cried, gripping his mismatched haori.
“I thought you were dead,” Tomioka mumbled, sitting himself and you up, his hands firmly grasping your shoulders as he looked at your face “I really thought you were dead. I-”
You cut him off by pressing your lips against his, making Inosuke and Tanjirou turn around in embarrassment.
“Get a room, you animals!” Inosuke yelled.
You could feel Giyuu take in a sharp inhale of breath, his body growing warm with your sudden action. His face was stained a light shade of pink as well.
“I’m not dead,” You mumbled against his lips, breath quivering slightly as you spoke. “I just, I couldn’t deal with what happened to Sabito and Makomo and I-”
“Left?” The water hashira cut you off, the slightest hint of pain in his voice as he did.
You looked down, placing your hands in your lap, nodding slightly in acknowledgement.
Tomioka placed his hands on either side of your face, lightly cupping your cheeks and pulling your head up to look at him. His face had gone back to his usual calm demeanor, but a slight smile was present.
“Just don’t disappear again, alright?” His thumb trailed across your cheek, making you giggle a little at the touch.
“Fine.” You smiled, placing your hands on top of his.
Meanwhile, Tanjirou and Inosuke were whispering back and forth to each other about whether or not you two were an item, both wondering where the hell you came from.

Newman’s Anime Reviews - Kimetsu no Yaiba
Hello Everyone and welcome to my first anime review in… Nearly 4 years?
*Cough*
Yeah - I know - I am still supposed to write the Seven Witches review… I have no excuses. I will get to it. SOMEDAY!
But today I’m going to talk about another anime. The first title from my 2021 anime challenge.
Actually this is the only anime from the challenge list that I’ve picked myself because I’ve been intending to watch it for a while now.
I’m talking about
Kimetsu no Yaiba
Tumblr media
Now - I didn’t really know what I’m getting myself into. I’m not sure if this counts as an achievement but I didn’t know shit about this title outside of:
Some people I know highly recommended it to me,
Nezuko is the best girl (and a demon)
There’s some dude wearing boar’s head as a mask,
Swords
Apparently it’s about killing demons
This is everything. EVERYTHING I knew when I started watching.
First things first however - let's start with the premise.
We meet our protagonist - Kamaboko Gonpachiro as he’s living his harsh but happy life with his large family. Monjiro takes on the responsibility of caring for his mother and younger siblings as the oldest male in the family after his father’s death before the start of the plot.
We join our protagonist as he goes down the mountain to sell charcoal at the nearby village and promises to come back with a lot of goods and food for the New Year’s.
Right off the bat we’re presented with beautiful scenes of  a loving family life our protagonist enjoys and I’m not going to make any anime veteran jokes about it.
Long story short - Tontaro’s trip lasts longer than he expected and he ends up staying the night at the village. It is then that we learn about demons that prowl the night of Kimetsu no Yaiba world. Evil creatures of darkness that feed on the flesh of humans. We also learn about demon hunters who protect people from those demons.
Gengoro resumes his trip back early in the morning but thanks to his keen sense of smell soon realizes that something is wrong. Very wrong. He rushes forward to get back as soon as possible but it is already too late.
There was a demon attack during the night and his family got killed with the sole exception of his sister Nezuko who was turned into a demon.
Surprising a demon hunter who appears shortly after Nezuko manages to regain her senses and has strong enough will to resist attacking humans. Thus begins Kanjiro’s journey - to become a demon slayer himself, avenge his family, protect others from what happened to him and find a way to turn his sister back into a regular human.
Tumblr media
Sounds easy, right?
I’ll be honest here that while the beginning was executed beautifully I must admit that I wasn’t really feeling this anime right away.
It seemed like your standard shounen anime from the start. Greatly executed despite being very cliche but still not outstanding.
Tragedy to set our protagonists on their way followed by the training arc and Jangoro finally becoming a demon slayer while Nezuko changes in her own way to be able to live without consuming humans - surprising experienced demon slayers.
It is only after that that the real story begins and we follow Tanjiro as he starts his mission as a true demon slayer himself.
Truly basics of the basics if I were to be honest. At that point I couldn’t really complain about anything in this show but at the same time nothing really stood out. As mentioned - the story was cliche. The fights so far were so-so. Animation was good but at the same time I knew that Ufotable isn’t showing it’s best yet. Somehow however it all just worked - together with music which really played into my tastes - yes - I really enjoy the music in this show (make it the one thing i really liked at that point).
But then everything changed with the Asakusa Arc.
Tumblr media
Oh no! It’s Michael Jackson! RUN!
The introduction of the Big Bad Muzan, his Twelve Demon Moons and the possible way of turning Nezuko back into human set our vague goals in place and Kentaro finally had a clear mission to accomplish.
What’s more - from this point on the fights become far more entertaining as well.
I did get the impression that this progress might be done too rapidly but thinking back it’s a good thing actually. We got too used to 150 episodes of nothing important happening and now any sort of early development seems rapid.
Before you say that I contradict my statements from earlier reviews hear me out: While we do meet major antagonists early on we don’t really get much from it outside of direction in the story. The Big Bad doesn’t make a move himself and is not even fought directly but becomes aware of Tangoro’s existence and wants him gone.
This is a good development to happen early in the story to keep the stakes high while not resolving anything just yet.
But this is not the end of improvements.
In the following story arc (Tsuzumi Mansion Arc) Santarou meets with two fellow demon slayer newbies - Zenitsu and Insouke who add some team dynamics to our already decent story and IMO further improves the fights we get to see.
As for the new team members… Zenitsu starts out pretty annoying at first with his extremely cowardly demeanor while Inosuke is the polar opposite with a fearless, rash personality.
I might be overthinking it but I see Inosuke as a parody - of sorts - for a character I personally dislike - Kirito from SAO. Both are dual-wielding master swordsmen with a feminine face (and for added bonus they’re both voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) but while Kirito’s strong because he’s the protag (Gary Stu) Inosuke is insanely ripped from his harsh life in the wilderness and… Well… Pretty much insane.
Tumblr media
Pretty amazing, aren’t I? Pretty amazing, aren’t I?
This change of pace - going from just Gentaro and Nezuko to a 4 man team with Zenitsu and Inosuke - marks the difference between the first and second half of this anime (and i forgot to mention it’s a whole 26 episodes show - not the 12 episodes short we got used to in recent years).
While the first half was kinda decent but not outstanding the second half is really, really entertaining to watch. Both the characters get a lot more chances at interaction and development and the action steps up from what we’ve seen before.
In short - two story arcs I’ve mentioned above supplemented what was lacking before. Things I wasn’t even clearly aware of initially.
Without a clear mission for Tenpachirou to accomplish we’d just descend into a monster-of-the-week formula and without more team members we’d be left with no means to explore our protagonists’ character in full.
What’s of Ponjirou extreme kindness if we don’t get to see him affect people with it outside of one-time-only interactions and his good relationship with his sister?
Yes - you can show it time and time again but from this point on it comes out more naturally and as I’ve mentioned already - we get to see it affect people in the long run - something I hope we’ll see further in the story.
Tumblr media
Left to right: Boss Honey Badger, Sleeping Badass, Best Girl and Cinnamon Roll.
Which brings me to this sad point…
Despite being a full 26 episodes show it still feels more like an introduction. We barely get to the right formula in the midpoint and conclude the fight against the first real enemy shortly before the anime is over. Souchirou’s journey has only just begun.
I’ve really wanted to write this review after watching the following Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen. That’s for multiple reasons.
At this point I know that this story arc is going to further up the stakes with the Upper Ranks of the Demon Moons getting into action but at the same time I’m really excited to see if Ufotable is going to show us what they’re capable of in terms of animation.
Because I think this anime deserves it.
Sadly - while the movie was out already I didn’t manage to watch it before writing this review.
Tumblr media
Kamado Tanjirou vs Lower Moon One - Enmu.
To sum it up - It was an interesting experience to see the anime develop in front of me - from a decent cliche show that didn’t make any major mistakes and played all the tropes just right into a really good and entertaining show in it’s own right.
My final assessment of the show is also the result of a certain niche this anime fits into. Namely the enjoyable sword fight scenes.
I’m definitely going to watch the movie when I’m able to and dive right into the following seasons of anime if they are made.
At this point something with this anime resonates with me - this show feels “just right” for some reason.
There’s also an added benefit of it not being dragged into infinity. From what I’ve heard the manga is already finished and we could get a definite end line before the story gets watered down into tasteless money grab.
Something to be appreciated when it comes to shounen manga…
Well. It is time to wrap up this review as well.
With all the above being said my final verdict is...
Final Score: 8/10  +Newman’s Mark of Quality
Status: Completed
Sentence: Butterfly Mansion rehabilitation training (I bet I’d enjoy it after a while).
 Next: Code Geass

Battle of the Breath… and Boulders (Kamaboko Squad Shenanigans)
Warnings: General stupidity.
Anonymous Request: Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to writing nearly everyday! I really like and enjoy your works! :D And thank you for doing mine! (It was the Hoodlum and Swindler interaction.)
May I request some Demon Slayer main trio hijinks so not to overwhelm with just AD? :0
Thanks if you do it!
.
.
.
Zenitsu clutched his sword tight in his dominant hand. Although not in a battle ready stance befitting that of his breathing style, his eyes were wide as he scanned the trees and his ears were receptive to the sounds of the wind whistling through the trees. As the leaves rustled behind him, Zenitsu felt his muscles tense up and his breathing deepen and quiet.
Like a serpent coiled to strike, Zenitsu was tensed and at the ready to swing his sword.
Above him, the sun was at its highest peak. If it were any other day, Zenitsu and the rest of his fellow Demon Slayers would have stopped for lunch. At that very moment, Zenitsu felt his stomach roll in dismay, as if sensing that its daily serving of food wasn’t going to be given its usual scheduled serving.
Zenitsu could relate.
Nothing about today could be considered “usual”.
For one, when the Demon Slayer trio had woken up from their makeshift camp in the midst of hiking up a mountain, Inosuke had been uncharacteristically silent and contemplative. For a person who was used to having his eardrums blasted by the boar child’s obnoxious antics, the blond had been relieved for the sudden reprieve. Despite that, however, it was Tanjiro who had expressed great worry and concern over Inosuke’s taciturn nature.
“Is something troubling you?”
The redhead had placed a cautious hand on Inosuke’s broad, tanned shoulder. It was a gesture of affection, Inosuke must have realized, because he didn’t shrug away from Tanjiro’s touch. Instead, the boar child scratched his chin and faced Tanjiro, the blank eyes of the boar mask seemingly even more unsettling and blank than usual.
“I want to grow stronger, Gonpachiro.”
As always, Tanjiro’s friendly smile had degraded into a grimace at the butchering of his name, but the redhead had managed to nod slowly in understanding.
“Don’t worry, Inosuke! As long as we practice and train—“
Inosuke interrupted with barely a thought for Tanjiro’s inspirational speech. “No, Tontaro! I want to grow stronger not by training,” the boar child puffed up his chest and swung his swords high up into the sky so that the sunlight glinted off the serrated blades, “I want to fight you both!”
Zenitsu rolled his eyes.
“Didn’t you learn from the first time we met?” Zenitsu leaned his back against the trunk of a tree, already too tired from this inane conversation. He regarded Inosuke with an exasperated, but fond gaze, but continued, “We Demon Slayers can’t fight each other. Why would you want us to fight anyway?”
“Hahahah! But how are we to get better if we don’t constantly practice! Fighting with our different styles can teach us new things!” Inosuke slung a muscled arm over Zenitsu either oblivious to or purposely ignoring his friend’s groan of disgust. “Pankitsu, fight me!”
“Tanjiro, please tell Inosuke that—” The blond found himself stuttering to a halt when he realized that the one person he thought would be sane enough to back him up actually looked like he was giving Inosuke’s spiel some thought. The blond groaned and pushed himself off the tree to confront his first friend. “Come on, Tanjiro! We’re supposed to head into the next town over within the next few days!”
Tanjiro looked troubled for a second before a bright grin shone on his face.
“Instead of actually sparring with each other, we can make it a race!”
Zenitsu’s ears pricked up at that.
A race?
Not only would that get them to their next destination faster, but while his comrades would be competing against each other, Zenitsu could easily make it down the other side. After all, thunder breathing style was all about speed and efficiency. So long as he remained focused, then Zenitsu would surely win!
After all three agreed, they decided on some ground rules.
No major or threatening wounds.
They could go all out with their styles and special abilities so long as the first rule was adhered to.
The first one to reach the bottom of the mountain on the other side wins.
Within the next half hour, Zenitsu basically blasted through the competition. Tanjiro and Inosuke, the true warriors they were compared to him (or so he thought), were far more focused on using their abilities to battle each other. If Zenitsu wanted, he could have stayed behind to watch to see how their respective styles fared against each other.
However, the blond was a realist and wanted to win.
So, down the mountain he went, fully aware of the sounds of sword chasing against each other accompanied by the sounds of grunts of pain and whoops of victory that rang through the air every so often. It wasn’t like Zenitsu didn’t want to fight (a part of him did) but he wanted to stay true to his objective.
Besides… they had yet to decide on what the prize was going to be.
Finally, when Zenitsu stepped onto flat ground, he allowed himself a small smile as he dropped flat to the ground.
Victory! How sweet did it taste upon his tongue.
As the blond rested underneath the shade of an ancient tree, he tried to rest and quiet his breathing that had become somewhat labored since he had run all that way down the mountain. However, before he could fully rest his eyes, his ears began to prick with a sound that he was all too familiar with.
Footsteps.
At first, Zenitsu didn’t seem to find anything wrong with it.
And then—
He realized that the footsteps were accompanied with… something rumbling? Yeah, it sounded a lot like something was… rolling down something?
Like thunder… rolling thunder?
With the speed and agility that not many people would associate with him, Zenitsu jumped up to his feet and unsheathed his sword. Although his eyes were not as sharp as his ears, he kept his gaze focused at what appeared to be a dust storm cascading down the mountainside.
Zenitsu’s warm brown eyed gaze narrowed.
If the footsteps paired well with that cloud of dust (which it did thanks to his ears), then Zenitsu had to wonder… What did those two idiots do?
Zenitsu stood stock still, his breathing nearly silent for a second.
And that’s when all hell broke loose.
Surprisingly, it was Tanjiro who came barreling down the mountain first. When the redhead saw Zenitsu, there was a brief flash of a smile on his face before it became grim.
“Get out of the way! Inosuke and I accidentally dislodged a boulder and—!”
Inosuke came tumbling next, his boar head somehow still resting tightly on his head.
“Monitsu! We’re gonna die! Hahahaha!”
As the pair of Demon Slayers ran past Zenitsu, the blond stood tall and straight, his hand twitched upon the handle of his sword.
His eyes closed.
And as the boulder bore down on him…
Zenitsu could hear the shouts of his teammates scream for him to move, to turn right or turn left…
Yet—
He stood still, his eyes closed, and he shifted into first stance, and then—
“Thunder Breathing First Form,” his eyes glowed somewhat dimly amid the contrast of the sunlight around him, “Thunderclap and Flash!”
And with that, the Thunder Breather slashed forward—
—and into the boulder, causing it to fall apart in half.
As Zenitsu sheathed his sword, he could hear the awed sounds and gasps of awe from his fellow Demon Slayers.
“That was so awesome, Zenitsu!” Tanjiro cried among the petulant cries of Inosuke claiming that he could have done the same. He came forward to embrace Zenitsu, almost as if the blond had been harmed in the maneuver. “I couldn’t have done that!”
The blond’s cheeks warmed at the compliment; on his tongue, he ached to say that he didn’t deserve such kind words, but something else came out.
“Didn’t you say that you sliced through a giant rock before the Final Selection,” Zenitsu asked him. “Why didn’t you do just that?”
Tanjiro blinked, his eyes wide and his cheeks just as red as his hair. “Oh… It was going too fast, though!”
Zenitsu resisted the urge to smack his palm against his forehead.
“Whatever… Can we go now? I’m going to have the both of you treat me to a nice meal at the next shop we come across as a reward for winning!”

Hello lovely!! Can I request for the bday event? A scenario in which I (Faith) get hurt in training and Inosuke takes care of me and makes me feel better when I believe that I’m not strong enough, for September 14, please? Thank you so, so much!!❤️❤️
happy birthday, darling! i hope this short scenario will brighten up your day today (ノ>ω<)ノ enjoy reading!
Tumblr media
—there are only a few things that inosuke hates; demons and when someone doesn’t want to fight with him. just those two.
and then suddenly, there was a third thing that added onto that list.
“faith! are you alright?”
inosuke’s head whips to the source of the voice and his own training with zenitsu halts, their attention turning to the scene between you and tanjiro. you have a hand clutched on your other, inosuke instantly finding his way towards the two of you, a look of contemplation in his face.
“what happened?” his eyes peers over you and your hand, to which you looked up and smiled assuringly at the boy, letting out a light but awkward chuckle.
“it’s nothing! no need to worry, it’s probably just a scratch.”
“no faith i think i injured you. maybe you should take a look-“ tanjiro wasn’t even done speaking when inosuke steals your hand from yours and inspects it whilst being cradled by his own strong but gentle hands.
he didn’t know what he was doing until he was already in the process, yet he chose to stay despite the already flustered look on his face after realizing what he had done blatanty.
“faith i have this gel i got from master urokodaki, do you want me to-“
“it’s nothing, really.” you suddenly stole back your hand away, pulling it away from inosuke’s touch as you held it like you did seconds earlier. “i’m just not strong enough as you, tanjiro... that’s why i keep getting scratches like these. but it’s fine! we should continue training and-“
“no, gonpachiro’s right.” inosuke interupts, his demeanor changed drastically that even tanjiro nd zenitsu had to look over at his face when they heard the change in his tone.
inosuke turns to tanjiro and holds out his hand, whereas the other got the message and obliged, handing him the item that he was talking about earlier without another word.
“i told you, it’s-“
“not fine.” inosuke’s eyes were serious when he makes eyes contact, making you immeditately and unconsciously shut up, zipping your lips as he grabs your hand again to apply the gel, his hand rubbing getly over the minor wound thhat must have been because of your own katana.
“kamaboko is strong but that doesn’t mean your weak, faith.” he says as eh works on your hand, his eyes focused and trained at what he was doing.
you were about to marvel at his words when he looks up all of a sudden, grinning wide. “if you want, you can go with konitsu over here. he’s much easier to beat. i can handle kamaboko.”
“hey-!”
“tanjiro did you hear that? inosuke was judging the both of us!”
“shh, zenitsu!” tanjiro shushes the blonde and pulls him aside, giving both you and inosuke space to talk to each other.
inosuke on the other hand ignores zenitsu’s rants as he blows air on your scratch. “there! i saw the insect pillar did that before and i wanted to try it.”
he snickers and his brows furrowed once again when he sees you freeze up and-
“hey faith you’ve gone red are you hurt in the head to?” he began to examine your temperature just as how he remembered shinobu had always done to him and the others, unaware of the real reason you reacted that way.
“wait inosuke i’m not-” but you had already gone from strawberry to apple whilst inosuke becomes more confused.
“are you having a-what do you call that again?”
“no! i’m not having a fever!”
“ah yeah, that.” he stands up straight and pulls you on his arms, carrying your already-flustered state “let’s go to the insect estate-“
“butterfly estate! put me down inosuke!”
“-and have the pillar examine you, come on!”
