So... Monster Hunter Wilds was released today and while hundreds of thousands of hunters jumped right in, breaking records in the midst of all that hype I...

I am sitting here and waiting for both opinions and a complete list of monsters. Like a Great White Hunter of old I want to know first if the game is worth my time.

None of the forests I've explored in my childhood remain now.

The first areas were cut some 15 years ago. Most of it was cut within the last 5 years.

What remains is a sad, empty, desolated land scheduled for planting new trees. They'll plant a monoculture in neat rows.

By then the exposed soil will be dry and dead. I can say goodbye to the spots I collected mushrooms from. Spots I was taught to preserve so that new mushrooms can grow again.

All destroyed by foresters who claim to "help" the forests.
