This could be a TV series as it’s a comic series for now It is a mix of reminiscencts of Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Funhouse and the House of Mouse, all in a new setting.

It is a directionless AU so you guys can go crazy with this lovely au.

Design clothes for them, give them jobs on this ship, 🚢 make scenarios where things happen, draw relationships or the line between that, Even epic fights and villains on this ship!. Headcannons, anything!

There’s one thing you need to know about this au: Mickey has this cruise ship because his family had this ship for generations and accumulated their wealth from servicing the ship to customers and people who what to board this ship for their reasons. I think it was a certain amount of generations, no less than 7. It’s also a historical boat so it’s maintained by the boat enthusiasts and rich people and others.

FYI artists and writers: some info regarding tumblr's new "third-party sharing" (aka selling your content to OpenAI and Midjourney)

You may have already seen the post by @staff regarding third-party sharing and how to opt out. You may have also already seen various news articles discussing the matter.

But here's a little further clarity re some questions I had, and you may too. Caveat: Not all of this is on official tumblr pages, so it's possible things may change.

(1) "I heard they already have access to my data and it doesn't really matter if I opt out"

From the 404 article:

A new FAQ section we reviewed is titled “What happens when you opt out?” states “If you opt out from the start, we will block crawlers from accessing your content by adding your site on a disallowed list. If you change your mind later, we also plan to update any partners about people who newly opt-out and ask that their content be removed from past sources and future training.”

So please, go click that opt-out button.

(2) Some future user: "I've been away from tumblr for months, and I just heard about all this. I didn't opt out before, so does it make a difference anymore?"

Another internal document shows that, on February 23, an employee asked in a staff-only thread, “Do we have assurances that if a user opts out of their data being shared with third parties that our existing data partners will be notified of such a change and remove their data?” Andrew Spittle, Automattic’s head of AI replied: “We will notify existing partners on a regular basis about anyone who's opted out since the last time we provided a list. I want this to be an ongoing process where we regularly advocate for past content to be excluded based on current preferences. We will ask that content be deleted and removed from any future training runs. I believe partners will honor this based on our conversations with them to this point. I don't think they gain much overall by retaining it.”

(3) "I opted out, but my art posts have been reblogged by so many people, and I don't know if they all opted out. What does that mean for my stuff?"

This answer is actually on the support page for the toggle:

This option will prevent your blog's content, even when reblogged, from being shared with our licensed network of content and research partners, including those that train AI models.

And some further clarification by the COO and a product manager:

zingring: A couple people from work have reached out to let me know that yes, it applies to reblogs of "don't scrape" content. If you opt out, your content is opted out, even in reblog form. cyle: yep, for reblogs, we're taking it so far as "if anybody in the reblog trail has opted out, all of the content in that reblog will be opted out", when a reblog could be scraped/shared.

So not only your reblogged posts, but anyone who contributed in a reblog (such as posts where someone has been inspired to draw fanart of the OP) will presumably be protected by your opt-out. (A good reason to opt out even if you yourself are not a creator.)

Furthermore, if you the OP were offline and didn't know about the opt-out, if someone contributed to a reblog and they are opted out, then your original work is also protected. (Which makes it very tempting to contribute "scrapeable content" now whenever I reblog from an abandoned/disused blog...)

(4) "What about deleted blogs? They can't opt out!"

I was told by someone (not official) that he read "deleted blogs are all opted-out by default". However, he didn't recall the source, and I can't find it, so I can't guarantee that info. If I get more details - like if/when tumblr puts up that FAQ as reported in the 404 article - I will add it here as soon as I can.

Edit, tumblr has updated their help page for the option to opt-out of third-party sharing! It now states:

The content which will not be shared with our licensed network of content and research partners, including those that train AI models, includes: • Posts and reblogs of posts from blogs who have enabled the "Prevent third-party sharing" option. • Posts and reblogs of posts from deleted blogs. • Posts and reblogs of posts from password-protected blogs. • Posts and reblogs of posts from explicit blogs. • Posts and reblogs of posts from suspended/deactivated blogs. • Private posts. • Drafts. • Messages. • Asks and submissions which have not been publicly posted. • Post+ subscriber-only posts. • Explicit posts.

So no need to worry about your old deleted blogs that still have reblogs floating around. *\o/*

But for your existing blogs, please use the opt out option. And a reminder of how to opt out, under the cut:

The opt-out toggle is in Blog Settings, and please note you need to do it for each one of your blogs / sideblogs.

On dashboard, the toggle is at https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog/blogname [replace "blogname" as applicable] down by Visibility:

For mobile, you need the most recent update of the app. (Android version 33.4.1.100, iOs version 33.4.) Then go to your blog tab (the little person icon), and then the gear icon for Settings, then click Visibility.

Again, if you have a sideblog, go back to the blog tab, switch to it, and go to settings again. Repeat as necessary.

If you do not have access to the newest version of the app for whatever reason, you can also log into tumblr in your mobile browser. Same URL as per desktop above, same location.

Note you do not need to change settings in both desktop and the app, just one is fine.

On this project, for the next 150ish days or so, I will be drawing Hornet as a journal entry/enemy/boss from the hunter’s journal each day until I run out of entries to draw her as

Just as a warning, some of these journal entry drawings are going to either look really cool or really cursed. So be prepared for anything lol. Not even I know what some of these will look like since I haven’t entirely planned them yet.

For the most part, I will be trying to include as much of Hornet’s original design as possible (her horns, her cloak, etc). However, with each entry, I will be including the enemy entry’s features in some way. Some days that may mean hornet looks more like the enemy, while other days she’ll look a little more like herself. It’ll make more sense once I start posting them, but generally that’s how it’s going to be.

Some entries will also be combined together to avoid some repetitiveness with certain enemies that similar enough to each other and I won’t be including entries like void idol, seal of binding, etc since they aren’t really that drawable.

Will the Journal Entries be in the same order as you see them in the game?

Mostly! Some of it might be a little out of order for sake of convenience/putting entries together in one post but it’ll stay mostly the same I think

your favorite sidebar theme just got an upgrade, babeyyy

I went to update Ocular to make it NPF post-compliant and then my hand slipped and I redesigned the whole thing lmao. here's a brief update about Ocular 3; if you're looking for a full list of changes between versions 2 and 3, click the "Read More" below)

Ocular comes with the following features:

Colors: easily change the color scheme of your sidebar and posts using any colors you want

Post sizes: 400px, 500px, 540px, 600px, 700px

Sidebar: can be on the left, right, or above the posts. pick from a list of sidebar sizes, header image heights, and avatar shapes

Fonts: 20 different fonts, sizes 13px to 18px

Background: solid, gradient, full-size image or repeating image

Links: choose either regular navigation or drop-down navigation. unlimited custom links (visit the help desk FAQ for a tutorial) and ability to rename home, ask, submit, and archive links

Endless scroll, custom ask box text, Tumblr's full-width controls and search bar, optional header, avatar, and favicon images

if you already have Ocular installed, version 3 should be coming at you as soon as the update passes the theme garden. if you installed this theme with GitHub, you'll have to re-install manually.

now let's get to the fun stuff. what's new in version 3?

wow, do I have some updates for you!

1. goodbye color schemes, hello post background and text colors

you can now directly control the color of the posts rather than relying on color schemes to do it. want your posts to be a very specific shade of navy? all yours, buddy. go wild (make sure it's readable tho)

2. hello, color schemes! wait I thought we got rid of that guy

a lot of the color schemes I made became redundant now that the new post background/text color options exist. if you were married to the old color schemes, all of them can be recreated using those options. so the new color scheme options are as follows:

"My colors" — uses the colors you picked for post background/text

"Light preset" and "dark preset" — sets the posts to white with black text, or off-black with white text

"Translucent" — uses the colors you choose for post background/text, but makes the post backgrounds semi-transparent. there are NINE different translucent color schemes, ranging from 90% (only slightly see-through) to 10% (VERY see through)

3. navigation dropdown option

you can either use the sidebar links like they were before, or you can turn them into a cute little dropdown (helpful if you have lots of links or links with long titles!) you can enable this using the "use dropdown navigation" setting. you can also customize the label for the dropdown using the "dropdown menu label" setting. for instance, the dropdown on my blog currently says "oooh you wanna click me"

4. RIP google fonts I always hated your load times

decided to stop using Google Fonts and instead I'm providing the font files directly in the code. this will help speed up load times drastically when using custom fonts, plus I don't have to use Google. win-win! there's quite a bit of coverage overlap with the old fonts, but some of them that were too similar to each other got the ax. I also added all of the system fonts as options (hit classics like Arial, Georgia, and Comic Sans MS are now available TO YOU!)

5. more layout, sizing, and spacing options

the sidebar used to be either on the center-left, center-right, or above the posts; now it can go in the top-left or top-right! you can now control the border radius on the posts and sidebar. the header height, sidebar width, and post spacing all have additional options.

6. some options have been renamed for additional clarity

"background color 1" -> "background color"

"background color 2" -> "gradient background color"

"background" -> "background style"

"font override" -> "use body font everywhere"

"title" -> "sidebar title"

"description" -> "sidebar description"

"ask box text" -> "custom HTML above ask box"

7. removed some options

you win some, you lose some. I removed the uppercase sidebar links, theme credit, and inline media spacing options, mostly for redundancy reasons or because they produced unclear results.

8. as previously stated, now NPF-compliant

Ocular was ALMOST compliant with Tumblr's new post format, but had a few tweaks that needed to be ironed out. they're now ironed.

9: now user-friendly right out of the box

I updated the default color and content options, so new users installing this theme will have a much easier time using and customizing it immediately. no more ugly ass green background!

10. and finally, new JS

I had to rewrite some of the javascript for this theme, which turned into me rewriting ALL of the javascript. doing so meant that I could eliminate dependencies on third-party JS libraries and run the whole thing on plain JS. that should improve load times!!

bonus: custom CSS can do some nifty stuff now

want to change the size of your avatar? you can do that now! just do this to your Advanced > Add custom CSS section

super helpful if you're using the Avatar shape: Uncropped setting and you need your image to be a specific size (like a pixelated GIF)

Hells, there's a lot of these. Okay...

Changed timeline. The game now starts on Friday, June 13th (a couple days before Tommy leaves for summer camp...)

Added several scenes (most of which are optional) and more choices to the original prologue

Added a skip feature to the beginning of the game (see image below cut)

Made it easier to change character genders at the beginning of the game (see below the cut)

Started switching direct D&D references to Mythmaker and worked on writing some of the rulebook for that (see this poll for context)

And a lot more. I honestly can't even think to list it all (and you'll see the rest of it soon enough)

Players can now go back and forth between text blurbs in these screens, that way you can go back to a previous phrase without having to restart the entire sequence:

The prologue now contains an optional flashback featuring a certain detective...

Tommy and Clara don't know each other as well anymore and he can now decide whether or not he's comfortable opening up to her.

Also... if you make some specific choices, Tommy can be a little bit suave now...

But don't worry if you prefer a Friends -> Rivals or Enemies -> Lovers arc, there's plenty of Jin content too...

Will you be making these into patches or back patches?

No. Money is tight and I don't have space in my apartment for more boxes. I suggest getting the license and making it yourself or buying a shirt from Threadless and cutting out the print.

Why did you forget X flag?

I assure you it's not out of malice. I've been doing a lot of extra hours at work, focusing on non pride related projects, working on 6 month+ old unfinished commissions, and fulfilling very delayed Kickstarter rewards. I'm only one person and I do my best to include as many as time allows, leeway is very much appreciated. I will make a few more pride flag requests soon and add them to the license and my shops, but after that I will need to step back from this and focus on other things. It's also why I offer 3 editable image files in the license - you're welcome to make your own or hire an artist to do it for you. [Update 7:18 pm, added those 3 designs, gay/MLM, aroace, and genderfluid, to the license and other shops. I will no longer make new edits for reasons stated here.]

I'm having an issue opening the licensing file. What is .RAR? Is it corrupted?

It's a .RAR, you will need WinRAR to open it. I like how WinRAR compresses large files better than winzip. All the files are in there. [Update 7:18 pm, it's back to a .zip file.]

No.

Can I get this tattooed? Do I also have to get the tattoo ticket?

You can get this tattooed. Don't have to buy the ticket or the license, but it's a nice gesture and does help me, the artist, directly.

Can I make and sell this as patches, stickers, etc?

If you bought the license, yes. I have few restrictions: Don't be a fuckin fascist, don't be a company/corporation, and if you do sell them please give the money to your local queer and trans group, Palestinian, and/or Congolese aid. Don't profit from my work.

Pride Angels launches tomorrow! In advance of the launch, here is some information about the campaign, please read the pre-launch page FAQ for more details if you haven't already.

Pride Angels launches 9AM PST June 24 2024, alongside our partner campaign Pride Potions.

You will need a Backerkit account to pledge, you can make one here.

If you pledge to both Pride Angels and Pride Potions you'll receive a pair of exclusive freebie pins.

There are freebie sticker rewards for Returning and Early Bird backers (who pledge in the first 48 hours of the campaign).

Pride Angel pins will be $14 each, with a discount if you select the pledge tier for four pins or more.

Stickers will be $2 each.

There will be a $5 pledge level available if you want to pledge for just the cross-collab freebie pins and freebies.

There will be ten Design Request pledge levels available. If you pledge for one of these you can request a flag and a theme for a new angel to be added to the roster. This is the final chance to get an angel added to the series, I am not adding any more outside these requests. The Design Request pledge level will be $100 and include merch of the sponsored angel design if funded.

Based on sales from my previous Pride Angels series, only a certain set of most popular flags will be available to fund as pins during the campaign. The rest will be funded in the survey/post-campaign preorder store depending on order quantity.

There will be seven Guest Artist pin designs to fund in addition to my designs.

We have stretch goals to add keychains, patches, and lanyards to the campaign in addition to the initial sticker and pin goals.

Hallmark Exes FAQ!

in light of part 2 being out soon, I’ll be making a little separate FAQ post about them for some backstory info and so i don’t have to keep answering the same questions lol—so send in any questions you have and I’ll answer them in the FAQ!

before getting into the questions, however, I want to clarify something.

Levi and Xavier are my characters. this is my story. while it was prompted by another post—and I encourage everyone who wants to to write their own versions of the prompt!!—it is not a collaborative project. I’ve had multiple separate issues with people wanting to write their own part 2s, and while I really do appreciate that the story resonated so much and inspired people enough to want to add to it, actually doing so and posting it is rude, disrespectful, and a shitty thing to do.

to be clear, I’m not mad at or trying to target any of these people. I know there were no malicious intentions behind it, but my feelings about it remain the same.

I’m not a published author. nobody knows Levi and Xavier are my characters. if someone were to stumble across the original piece and a part 2 someone added without my consent, they’d have no way to know that that’s not canon. any additional info that person decides to include in their writing muddies the waters when I inevitably contradict it, because Levi and Xavier’s story is so much more fleshed out in my head than what I’ve shared on tumblr.

so I guess please just keep that in mind. please don’t hijack my story. it feels weird that I have to say this in the first place, but here we are.

and if you’re about to say something like “but jester, it’s a compliment, it's not that big of a deal! besides, it’s just a tumblr story, it’s not that serious!” I just want to say this: when a writer posts the first chapter of their book or fic on tumblr or ao3 or wattpad or wherever else, do you decide to take it upon yourself to write chapter 2 and post it as if that’s the continuation of the story? no, you wouldn’t, because that’s rude as fuck. this isn’t any different.
